I'm DailyWire editor-in-chief John Bickley with guest host Batia Ungar Sargon, opinion editor at Newsweek.
It's Tuesday, May 7th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
Israel's military officials confirmed today that their forces have taken over the Ghazan side of the Rafaf crossing.
Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has the latest.
The Israeli defense force says it began a precise counterterrorism operation in eastern Rafa.
IDF intelligence found that the area was being optimized for terrorist purposes.
Officials with the IDF say their primary objectives are to eliminate Hamas terrorists and take down terrorist infrastructure.
Ahead of the operation, Israel warned Rafa residents and urged them to evacuate to an area in Al-Mawesi.
There, the IDF facilitated the expansion of field hospitals and tents,
and increased water, food, and medical supplies.
Israeli forces also warned international organizations in the area to temporarily evacuate.
Four IDF soldiers were killed and several others were injured during the operation.
Around 20 Hamas terrorists were killed.
President Biden condemned anti-Semitism in the U.S. and across the globe
during a Holocaust remembrance ceremony today.
The president's remarks that the Capitol come as anti-Israel protests
continue to send college campuses across the country into chaos.
Many of these protests have involved anti-Semitic chance and threats toward Jewish students and supporters of Israel.
Here's some of Biden's remarks.
Here we are. Not 75 years later, but just seven and a half months later, people are already forgetting.
They're already forgetting that Hamas unleashed this terror.
There was Hamas that brutalized Israelis.
It was Hamas took and continues the whole host.
I have not forgotten nor have you, and we will not forget.
Biden steered clear of the upcoming presidential election in his speech,
but his address came as former President Trump has criticized the incumbent for not doing more
to combat anti-Semitism and campus violence.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar could soon be hit with another censure resolution for comments she
made while visiting Columbia University.
The Democratic Congresswoman from Minnesota referred to some
Jewish students as pro-genocide during the visit to the Ivy League School, which has been at the
center of nationwide anti-Israel protests.
As a source close to the matter tells Fox News, Representative Don Bacon is introducing the
resolution against Omar today.
The resolution calls Omar's comments slanderous against Jewish students and says they could inflame
violence.
Stormy Daniels took to the stand today to testify in Donald Trump's New York hush money trial.
Daily Wire, Senior Editor Cabot Phillips has more.
Daniels offered a detailed and at times salacious account of her time spent with Trump back in 2007.
According to her testimony, Daniels initially turned down a dinner invitation from Trump
before changing her mind after her then publicist encouraged her to attend.
It was after that dinner that Daniels claims Trump initiated sex in his hotel suite.
State prosecutors pushed Daniels to go into great detail regarding the alleged encounter,
drawn multiple objections from Trump's lawyers, a number of which were sustained.
with Judge Mershahn at one point telling the prosecution they did not need such a detailed
description of events. Following a break for lunch, Trump's defense team moved for a missed trial over
Daniel's testimony, but it was denied by Mershant. This episode is brought you by Beam. Try Beam's

TikTok is suing the U.S. government. The lawsuit comes after a bill passed last month seeking to force
the app's Chinese parent company to sell it or be banned. The suit claims the bill violates
constitutional protections of the First Amendment. The company argues that national security concerns
are not sufficient reasons for restricting free speech. It goes on to say that, quote,
the burden is on the federal government to prove that this restriction is warranted and says that
it has not met that burden. The legal action was anticipated after President Biden signed the bill
late last month.
Over a thousand anti-Israel protesters took to Central Park last night
after police blocked them from reaching the star-studded Met Gala.
According to authorities, protesters vandalized a World War I memorial
with graffiti that spelled Gaza and also burned an American flag nearby.
Others plastered the bronze soldier statues with stickers of the Palestinian flag,
climbed atop the statues, and waved Palestinian flags or draped them over the figures.
Here's what some of the chaos sounds.
sounded like. And for the first time in its 114 year history, Boy Scouts of America is changing its name.
The new name will be scouting America. Officials with BSA say the change seeks to foster a more
inclusive organization. The rebranding is set to take effect on February 8th, 2025. That's the
organization's 115th anniversary. While the organization says the move is to make everyone feel welcome,
it also comes after BSA faced bankruptcy and a number of sexual abuse allegations.
The organization's CEO Roger Crone says while the name is new, the mission remains the same.
The argument that I make with the people that say, well, I always like Boy Scouts of America or BSA, why do we have to change?
You know, membership is at historic lows. Part of my job is to reduce all the barriers I possibly can for people to accept us as an organization.
and to join.
