I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire editor-in-chief John Bickley. It's Tuesday, March 7th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update. The governor of Tamalipas in Matamoros, Mexico announced this morning that two of the four Americans kidnapped by gunmen last week were found dead. Two others from that group were found alive, though one was wounded. One of the victims reportedly had traveled into the country for a cosmetic medical procedure. and now lawmakers are calling the Biden administration to hold those responsible accountable. Republican Congresswoman Monica Dela Cruz of Texas condemned the, quote, horrifying crime, and declared, justice must be swift and overwhelming. Enough is enough. Fox News host Tucker Carlson sparked a firestorm online and outrage from legacy media outlets after airing never-before-seen footage from the January 6th Capitol riot. The footage aired by Carlson is some of more than 40,000 hours of surveillance video given exclusively to him by Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Here with more is Daily Wires Brandon Dre.

Video showed some of the protesters calmly walking throughout the building with Capitol Police likewise calmly standing by and at times even appearing to accompany the protesters throughout the halls. One of those protesters featured in the footage was a so-called QAnon shaman Jacob Chansley who was seen in his famous horn hat walking throughout the building accompanied by police who take no steps to arrest him. If he was, in fact, committing such a grave crime, why didn't the officers who were standing right next to him place him under arrest?

Chansley has since been sentenced to 41 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of obstruction of an official proceeding. We'll have a full report on Wednesday's Morning Wire. In response to Carlson's expose, Democratic Majority Senator Chuck Schumer is calling for Fox News to silence Carlson, claiming that he is endangering American safety and those hurt on January 6th. Here's Schumer today from the Senate floor. He's going to come back tonight with another segment.

Fox News should tell him not to. Fox News, Rupert Murdoch, tell Carlson not to run a second segment of lies. You know it's a lie. The chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, announced Tuesday that the Fed would continue to raise rates as new data showed in, inflation is still too high. He also urged Congress to raise the debt ceiling, but he did get some pushback from Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren. We are taking the only measures we have to bring inflation down. And putting two million people out of work, it's just part of the cost,

and they just have to bear it. Will working people be better off if we just walk away from our jobs and inflation remains 5, 6 percent? And the New York Times reports that U.S. officials believe that a pro-Ukrain group blew up the Nord Stream pipelines last year. Those sources told the paper that they had no evidence linking President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine or the Ukrainian government to the attack. The information comes as other media outlets have reported that the U.S. was responsible for blowing up the pipelines to weaken Russia, and accusation U.S. officials have repeatedly denied.
