Starting point is 00:00:02 I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire, editor-in-chief John Bickley. It's Monday, July 10th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update. Former U.S. gymnastics doctor and convicted child molester Larry Nassar was reportedly stabbed multiple times Sunday night in a federal prison in Florida. Here with Moore's Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce. Nassar was reportedly stabbed in the back and neck in an altercation at the United States Penitentiary Coleman. The extent of his injuries is unknown, but he has said to,
Starting point is 00:00:35 be in stable condition. The prison housing the infamous doctor has staffing shortages, and the officers assigned to Nassar's unit were reportedly working at mandated overtime. Nassar treated some of the most well-known figures on the U.S. women's Olympic gymnastic team, but is expected to spend the rest of his life in federal prison. He was sentenced after more than 150 women and girls accused him of sexual abusing them over a period of 20 years. More than 9 million Americans are under flood warnings in northeastern states, including New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine. Heavy rainfall is causing mayhem, and now flash floods and even landslides are expected in those areas. At least one New Yorker has been killed. Here's one New York woman speaking to Fox 5, New York.

Evgeny Progoshin reportedly pledged loyalty to the Russian government in a Kremlin meeting with President Vladimir Putin just days after Bergotian's Wagner mercenary group led a short-lived
Starting point is 00:01:54 rebellion against the Russian president. Daily Wire's senior editor, Cabot Phillips, has the update. According to a Kremlin spokesman, the three-hour meeting took place on June 29. and included commanders from Progosians Wagner Group. The spokesman says the commanders presented their version of what happened, claiming they're still staunch supporters of Putin and remain ready to continue to fight for their homeland. Progions' fate, however, still remains unclear. Though Putin branded him a traitor as the revolt unfolded and vowed harsh punishment,
Starting point is 00:02:21 the criminal case against the mercenary chief was later dropped. However, he could still face prosecution for financial wrongdoing or other charges. A Tennessee youth soccer coach has been arrested after police say pictures and unconscious videos were allegedly found on his phone, revealing that he drugged and raped unconscious boys. Daily Wire's senior editor Joel Needler reports. In late June, 63-year-old Camillo Hurtado Campos of Franklin, Tennessee, left his phone at a restaurant, prompting a customer to hand it to employees. As employees went through the phone to identify its owner, they discovered the alarming content and contacted police. According to authorities,
Starting point is 00:02:57 there is video evidence showing that at least 10 minors were raped. Two minors have been identified, but police are working to identify the other victims. Detective said somewhere in such an unconscious state, they likely didn't even realize what happened. The victims are expected to be between the ages of 9 and 17. Campos would allegedly recruit young boys at playgrounds and schools to join his soccer team before taking advantage of them. A new survey shows that nearly 40% of undergrad students
Starting point is 00:03:23 at the prestigious Brown University now identify as LGBTQ. In 2010, just 14% of the Ivy League's college student, students describe themselves that way. And a Daily Wire investigative report has revealed that the National Institutes of Health is funding research on the effects of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormone treatment on youth, despite acknowledgement from the grantee that these medical interventions can result in sterility. Starting point is 00:03:57 a parent or guardian consent form from Children's Hospital, Los Angeles, titled, Pubertal Blockers for Miners in Early Adolescence states, if your child starts puberty blockers in the earliest stages of puberty and then goes on to gender-affirming hormones, they will not develop sperm or eggs. This means that they will not be able to have biological children. It goes on to warn of several other side effects before requesting signatures from both the parents
Starting point is 00:04:20 and the child undergoing the procedure. Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, the director of an advocacy group called Do No Harm, slam the study and guidelines. quote, anyone who thinks a child reading this document will be able to give informed consent is engaging in a massive instance of self-delusion. Goldfarb went on to say, children simply cannot understand the impact of any of this on their bodies and on their future. The NIH has doled out millions for similar studies around the country.
