I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire editor-in-chief John Bickley.
It's Wednesday, October 2nd, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
Iran's supreme leader is blaming the U.S. for the escalation following its attack on Israel yesterday.
Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce says more.
Israel has vowed to retaliate with prime.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warning of severe consequences for Iran.
While Iranian officials are doubling down and threatening further attacks of Israel and the
U.S. respond, President Biden says he does not support a retaliatory strike by Israel.
The answer is no. We'll be discussing with the Israelis what they're going to do.
The news comes as Israel continues its ground operation in Lebanon, where eight Israeli soldiers
were killed in clashes with Hezbollah terrorists. As tension in the region rises, Israel has banned
and UN Secretary General Antonio Gutierrez.
Gutierrez has consistently vilified the Jewish state
and suggested that Israel is ultimately the blame
for the horrific Hamas terror attack on October 7th.
The death toll from Hurricane Helene
has climbed to 175,
with hundreds still missing amid catastrophic flooding
across southeastern states.
Daily Wire reporter Amanda Presti Giacomo has the latest.
North Carolina has been hit the hardest
with at least 90 confirmed dead
and entire communities swept away in the floodwater.
While power is being restored,
1.3 million people remain without electricity
from Florida all the way up to Virginia.

two days after former President Trump.
CBS news anchors Nora O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan are facing backlash after saying they wouldn't be fact-checking the candidates in last night's debate and then proceeding to do just that to J.D. Vance.
Critics accuse the moderators of bias, particularly in relation to this moment with Vance.
And just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio does have a large number of Haitian migrants who have legal status, temporary protected status.
Nora, but-
Thank you.
Senator, we have so much to get to.
I think it's important because...
We're going to turn out of the economy, thank you.
The rules were that you guys weren't going to fact check.
And since you're fact-checking me, I think it's important to say what's actually going on.
So there's an application called the CBP One app where you can go on as an illegal migrant,
apply for asylum or apply for parole, and be granted legal status at the wave of a Kamala Harris open border wand.
In another moment, Brennan pushed back against a claim made by Vance that the massive influx of illegal
immigrants was causing housing prices to rise.
But, Senator, on that point, I'd like for you to clarify, there are many contributing
factors to high housing costs. What evidence do you have that migrants are part of this
problem? Well, there's a Federal Reserve study that we're happy to share after the debate.
We'll put it up on social media, actually, that really drills down on the connection
between increased levels of migration, especially illegal immigration and higher housing prices.
Vance indeed kept his promise and posted that study on X after the debate.
Federal prosecutors say New York City's mayor is likely to face an expanded indictment during his return to federal court today.
The lead prosecutor said additional defendants and charges could be added to the case against Eric Adams.
This comes just days after the mayor pleaded not guilty to conspiracy, wire fraud, and bribery charges.
Adams faced heckling as he arrived at the courthouse for the procedural hearing.
Disgraced music mogul Sean Diddy Combs will likely face more sexual assault lawsuits over 100 more.
Attorney's Tony Busby and Andrew Van Arsdale described the cases as unprecedented in scope,
involving allegations from both men and women ranging in age from 9 to 38 years old.
The alleged assaults span two decades and occurred at high-profile events, they say.
Here's Busby.
I expect that through this process, many powerful people will be exposed.
Many dirty secrets will be revealed.
We know what we are potentially up against.
Combs continues to deny the accusations calling them false and defamatory.
Concerned Women for America is leading efforts to protect women's sports.
After San Jose State University's volleyball team was found to have a male player,
CWA and its advocates argue that the male's participation impacts fairness and safety.
The organization filed a federal civil rights complaint.
Meanwhile, schools like Boise State and the University of Wyoming have forfeited games against San Jose State in protest.
And a SpaceX capsule sent to the International Space Station to rescue two stranded astronauts has docked.
Crew 9 now aboard the International Space Station and joining Expedition 72.
The Dragon capsule has two empty seats for Butch Wilmore and Sunni Williams.
They were only meant to be on the ISS for eight days, but were forced to remain there much longer because of a fault.
discovered during the flight.
