It's Thursday, October 10th, and this is Morning Wire. The Biden-Harris border policies are back in the spotlight after an Afghan migrant is caught allegedly plotting a terror attack. We just cannot thoroughly vet. Not only the people that were encountering,

but also you've got this large growing bucket of gotaways. And several new reports detail troubling allegations about the second gentleman, Doug Imhoff. A lot of different allegations being leveled at the husband of the vice president, who has been put up as this feminist icon. And yet, according to these sources, he is anything but that. Just weeks after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc across the southeast, Hurricane Milton, another powerful storm, made landfall in Florida. Here are the details. It's Daily Wire Senior Editor Cabot Phillips, A. Kavitt, so a lot of preparation before this storm hit. Now it's finally made landfall. What's the latest in Florida? Yeah, it'll be a few hours until we get a better picture of the damage, but things are not looking good for the people of Florida.

Milton made landfall last night around 9 o'clock, 7 miles south of Sarasota. as a Category 3 with sustained winds of 120 miles per hour. The storm had been in category 5 earlier in the week, but thankfully it dissipated a bit in the last 24 hours, though obviously that's little consolation for those living on the western side of the Florida Peninsula. Yeah. Even before it made landfall to cell produced at least 19 tornadoes, which tore through the southern part of the state as folks were attempting to evacuate,

causing multiple fatalities. Could be days, though, before we know the final death count of this storm, now that it's made landfall. In past days, more than a dozen counties had been issued mandatory evacuation orders, but as with any storm, there are those who choose to stay behind. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis

repeatedly urged residents to evacuate. President Biden also issued this urgent plea to those folks as the storm grew closer. If you're under evacuation orders, you should evacuate now, now, now, you should have already evacuated. It's a matter of life and death, and that's not hyperbole.

In the hours ahead of Milton's arrival, Disantus launched a just massive preparedness effort, mobilizing more than 5,000 National Guardsmen, establishing a 10,000-person base camp at Tropicana Field in Tampa, deploying hundreds of vehicles to evacuate hospitals and nursing homes, while organizing police escorts for fuel trucks bringing gas to stations that had run out along evacuation routes. Along with numerous calls for people to evacuate DeSantis also had a stern warning for those who stayed behind with the intent of looting.

I've seen signs in different people's yards in the past after these disasters, and I would say it's probably here. You loot, we shoot. You never know what's behind that door. If you go break into somebody's house and you're trying to loot, these are people that are going to be able to defend themselves and their families. So I would not do it. We are going to hold you accountable from a law enforcement perspective at a minimum, and it could even be worse than that depending on what's behind that door. Now, we've seen reports from North Carolina, which obviously is still recovering from Hurricane Helene, that many residents have not been allowed access to their homes.

Governor DeSantis, though, yesterday said that his state would be handling things very differently in the coming days. Just let me be clear in Florida, we run the show. FEMA's not running the show. You are not going to see FEMA running amok in Florida. I'm the sheriff that's in charge here, and we will make sure to protect you. Don't worry about it. Keep in mind, this is an area still reeling from Hurricane Helene, which made landfall about 180

miles north of Tampa just over two weeks ago. It appears this storm will not take a similar trajectory into the Carolinas, but again, that could always change. Obviously, this is a developing story. We'll certainly have a lot more updates once we get a better idea of the damage. But for now, we're all praying for the people of Florida. Yeah, indeed, we are. An Afghan immigrant who entered the U.S. in 2021 has been arrested for planning a terror attack on election day. The arrest brings renewed focus to the Biden-Harris administration's border policies. Here to discuss his Daily Wire reporter, Amanda Prestajakamo. So Amanda, first off, tell us about this alleged terror plot.

Well, according to the DOJ, a 27-year-old man named Nasir Ahmad Tahiti and a juvenile co-conspirator plan to execute a terror attack on behalf of ISIS on Election Day. Now, Tahiti, who was living in Oklahoma, he confessed to the plan and told investigators that he was targeting large gatherings of people and he expected to be martyred. Tahiti was also in possession of ISIS propaganda and he donated to a charity in March that was actually a front for a group that was funneling money to ISIS. The suspect allegedly entered the U.S. on September 9th of 2021 and a special immigration visa that was granted by the Biden-Harris administration following that controversial pullout from Afghanistan.

Even at that time, literally the day before Tahiti entered the U.S., President Trump was warning about the risk of letting in thousands of unvetted Afghan nationals. Here's some audio of that. The country has never been more unsafe. We have people pouring in through our southern border, which everyone's forgetting about right now because of the travesty of Afghanistan. And if you look at the people coming in by the hundreds, by the thousands, and these are not the people necessarily that wanted the protection. Right. So are they terrorists? How many terrorists are coming in?

Now, obviously, immigration and border security are top of mind for a lot of voters this election cycle. And one of the reasons for that is this potential threat of terrorism or crime in general. Under Biden and Harris, those threats have undeniably increased. For one thing, at least 382 people on the terror watch list have tried to illegally cross the border since 2021. That's a stunning 3,000% increase compared to Trump's tenure. Also under Biden and Harris, border agents have reportedly encountered more than 1.7 million migrants known as special interest aliens. And what exactly is a special interest alien? According to the House Judiciary Committee report, an SIA is an immigrant who comes from a country that poses a national security threat to the U.S.,

such as Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Venezuela, or Turkey, and numerous other countries. Back in 2019, the Department of Homeland Security defined an SIA as a non-U.S. person who, based on analysis of travel patterns, potentially poses a national security risk to the U.S. or its interests. Notably, SIAs are not always detained or deported. Here's Republican Senator James Lankford discussing that back in March. The problem is most of them are released into the United States after a very quick screening at the border. Those individuals that have been labeled a national security risk are not being detained at our border. I'll also note that U.S. officials are not given criminal records of migrants from numerous countries, including Venezuela, Cuba, and China, leaving border agents in the dark and potentially Americans at risk.

A major issue is that this threat is often minimized by the press. Fact checks you'll find from legacy media consistently rate claims about the terror threat from Trump or other Republicans as false. But the reasons they give, you know, to borrow a term, are misleading. In one example, during a Republican primary debate, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said, Quotes, if you look at the threats that we face, terrorists have come in through our southern border. The New York Times fact checked this as false. Their reasoning was because no one has died or been injured by a terrorist who crossed our border illegally yet.

So amazingly dishonest. Amanda, thanks for reporting. You're welcome, Georgia. Kamala Harris's husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, is facing accusations of abusive behavior from multiple women. Daily Wire senior reporter Mary Margaret Olahan has the latest, Mary Margaret, thanks for coming on. So some new claims involving Emhoff emerging now. First, where are these coming from? So the Dilley Mail has now published three damaging reports on the second gentleman. The first report exposed in August that Emhoff cheated on his ex-wife with his children's nanny,

alleging that he impregnated that nanny, that she had a miscarriage, and that he had her sign in NDA. Now, Emhoff did acknowledge this affair saying, and I'm quoting, We work through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side. The second report alleged that Emhoff drunkenly assaulted his ex-girlfriend in 2012 at the Cannes Film Festival in France. because he thought she was flirting with another man. Multiple friends of the woman, identified only as Jane, corroborated her story to the outlet.

And the Daly Mail included a photo of the couple with the woman's face blurred out, as well as to travel itinerary and emails showing details about their stay in France. Now, Emhoff's spokesman denied this story to Semaphore, but he has otherwise stayed silent on the matter. Yeah. And the Daly Mail's third major report

alleges that Mhoff behaved in a, quote, inappropriate and misogynistic manner venable. That's the law firm he used to work for. The report is based on allegations from M. Hoff's former colleagues who say that he singled out attractive female employees for special treatment and that he penalized those who would not flirt back. It also says that he hired legal secretary who was, quote, young, attractive and friendly with the powerful men in the office. Emhoff notably has not provided a denial to these last claims. I spoke with Josh Boswell, who broke all three of these daily mail stories, he told me that Emhoff's team has never once responded to him.

So I've given them ample time, the White House, the Harris campaign, Doug Emhoff's spokesperson, and then the other people involved, like, you know, Venable. For the first story that we did, the story about him having an affair with the Nanny and teacher, he actually came out and admitted it a few hours after we published. So it's interesting this difference in response here and the fact that he chose, after several days of the story being out about him slapping his ex-girlfriend, chose to give this short denial to a small publication semaphore, but not respond to us, not respond to any major media who have contacted him for comment.

So no response after multiple requests. What have we seen from the legacy media? How have they covered these allegations? Well, somewhat predictably, legacy media outlets have completely ignored the story. The Washington Post and the New York Times still have not covered Josh's second story on Emhoff allegedly slapping his ex-girlfriend. and CNN only covered Emhoff's denial to semaphore, and this only came after the Daily Wire and others called them out.

That's particularly noticeable after the years of the Me Too movement where most major news outlets churned out hundreds of stories on conservative figures like Donald Trump and Brett Kavanaugh when they were accused of sexual assault. Josh also pointed out that Emhoff could soon be the husband of the president of the United States. So he's a little surprised to see how some media outlets have ignored his reporting. These are allegations that very much

fit in with the years of allegations against powerful influential men that have been coming out since the Me Too movement started in 2018. And yet when it comes to the husband of the vice president, someone who's running for the presidency, for the Democratic Party, we're not hearing the same kind of calls for investigation or follow-up stories from some of those legacy media. That surprises me. And I hope that they are going to pick up the ball on this. commentators like Megan Kelly and Chris Cuomo have heavily criticized media silence on the stories. Cuomo said, and I'm quoting, if the name were Trump instead of Emhoff in this story, it would be all over the news right now.

All right. So the media silence on this not going unnoticed. How is Kamala Harris handling the news? Well, she's avoided addressing the topic, in part because no one has asked her about it. Trump appeared on the Ben Shapiro show on Monday, and he criticized MSNBC for interviewing Harris without asking her about the allegations. He also poked fun at those like former White House press secretary Jen Saki, who have argued that Emhoff is a symbol of masculinity. It was like a love fest. It's the craziest interview I've ever seen. If that wouldn't me, it would be the greatest story in the last five years.

I also spoke with Leslie Milwee and Juanita Broderick, who both accused former President Bill Clinton of sexually assaulting or raping them before he was president. Their claims were also dismissed by major outlets, and they argued that there's a double-eastern. standard when it comes to allegations against powerful Democrats. Millie told me, and I'm quoting, accountability is doled out based on the whims of the 90% liberal media and your worthiness is then determined. We'll see if any legacy outlets actually start to cover this. Mary Margaret, thank you for
