The House January 6th Committee recommended Monday that the Justice Department bring criminal
charges against former president Donald Trump. The panel voted unanimously to recommend charges
against the former president on four counts. Obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud
the United States, conspiracy to make a false statement, and efforts to incite, assist, or aid, or
comfort, and insurrection. This is the first time that the House has ever recommended criminal
charges against a former president. The committee's full report will be available to the public
on Wednesday.
Amber Hurd has agreed to settle her defamation suit against Johnny Depp for $1 million.
Hurd has agreed to pay several million to Depp as a result of their court case earlier this
year.

Elon Musk created a poll on Twitter on Sunday asking if he should step down as the platform's
CEO and said he would abide by the results.
When the informal poll closed Monday morning, 57.5% of the 17.5 million voters said yes,
Musk should step down.
Musk has not yet responded to the poll results.
Extreme turbulence on a flight from Phoenix to Honolulu Sunday resulted in nearly a dozen people being sent to the hospital with serious injuries.
Newly elected mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass will start moving some of the 40,000-plus homeless people from the streets of the city into hotels and motels.

Shikari was executed in Tehran earlier this month after being convicted of blocking a street
and allegedly attacking police with a machete.
On CBS's Face the Nation on Sunday, Democratic Senator Joe Manchin was asked about changing his party status to become independent
after Kirsten Cinema switched to independent earlier this month.
