I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley. It's Monday, January 2nd, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
A Ukrainian strike on a facility in the Eastern Dened where Russian military personnel were stationed has reportedly caused mass casualties.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported 63 casualties, whereas Ukrainian media is reporting 400 Russian casualties with 300 injuries.
Actor Jeremy Renner is being treated.
for serious injuries that occurred while he was plowing snow on Sunday at his home in Reno, Nevada.
A representative said that the 51-year-old actor is in critical but stable condition.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Renner was the only person involved and was airlifted to a hospital.
Renner is known for his role as Hawkeye, the sharpshooting member of the superhero Avengers Squad
in Marvel's sprawling movie and television universe.
Approximately 300 migrants landed on uninjointed.
inhabited islands in the Florida Keys over the weekend.
The group made at least 10 separate landings.
According to customs and border protection,
at least 88 of the migrants are Cuban nationals.

A second major earthquake in less than two weeks
jolted Northern California on New Year's Day.
The 5.4 magnitude quake struck at 1035 a.m. on Sunday with an epicenter about nine miles east of Rio Delle in Humboldt County. That's according to the U.S. Geological Survey. No deaths or injuries have been reported.
President Biden's first big trip of the year is set to feature the president appearing alongside Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in Kentucky.
The event is scheduled to take place Wednesday and is expected to center around the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that Biden,
and signed into law last year.
Things are going to turn around in a big way.

A law signed in September,
making California a transgender sanctuary state
took effect on Sunday.
The law gives kids from other states
access to, quote,
gender-affirming care in the Golden
state. The legislation also states it will block the enforcement of other states' laws that hinder
access to transgender medical procedures and drugs. Republican state Senator Melissa Melendez
said while she thinks transgender youth deserve protection and mental health care, she said
the law takes the wrong approach. I don't think the state of California should be stepping in
and facilitating that. That's not our place. At least 14 people have died and more than a dozen
others were injured on Sunday during an armed attack on a state prison in the Mexico border
city of Juarez. Attackers reportedly converged on the Saraso state prison in armed vehicles around
7 a.m. and opened fire on guards, killing 10 guards and three inmates. At least 24 prisoners
