Starting point is 00:00:29 President Biden will likely appoint a former COVID-Zon. to be his next chief of staff, according to our recent report. Sources told media that Jeff Zinzance would be named the successor to Ron Clayne, who's expected to step down as chief of staff in the coming weeks. The man who disarmed the 72-year-old suspected shooter, who killed 10 people at a dance hall in Monterey Park this weekend, spoke to Good Morning America today. After fleeing the first crime scene,
Starting point is 00:00:55 the shooter allegedly entered a second dance hall with a gun, when Brandon Say, who runs the dance hall with his family, attacked the shooter and disarmed him. I realized I needed to take this weapon, disarmed him or else everybody would have died. When I got the courage, I lunged at him, grabbed the weapon, and we had a struggle. He was hitting me across the face, bashing the back of my head.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Finally, at one point, I was able to pull the gun away from him, shove him aside, point the gun at him, intimidate him, shot him and say, get the hell out here. I'll shoot. Arrests of individuals on the U.S. Terror Watch List at the southern border have skyrocketed over the past two years. In 2020, just three terror suspects were arrested at the border, but the figure jumped to 98 in 2022.
Starting point is 00:01:46 So far in 2023, a total of 38 individuals on the Terror Watch list have already been apprehended at the southern border. Nike permanently closed its flagship store in downtown Seattle on Friday after 26 years in operation. Nearby Regal Cinemas also announced that it would not be renewing its lease in its downtown Seattle location. Seattle has been increasingly plagued by homelessness and crime in the area. Microsoft announced it will invest multi-billions of dollars into the maker of ChatGPT. The AI chatbot recently passed a Wharton School of Business test,
Starting point is 00:02:20 and people from both the tech and education worlds are sounding the alarm over its potential uses. The Department of Justice announced Monday that Charles McGonigle, A former top FBI agent in charge of New York's counterintelligence office was arrested over the weekend due to his ties with Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, who is currently under U.S. sanctions. Authorities allege that McGonigal violated U.S. sanctions by agreeing to provide services to Deripaska in exchange for money. McGonigle helped initiate Operation Crossfire Hurricane the FBI's investigation into supposed Trump-Russia collusion, for which the Mueller investigation ultimately found no evidence. Richard Barnett, the January 6th defendant known for putting his feet on Nancy Pelosi's office desk, was found guilty on all eight charges Monday morning, including felony obstruction, civil disorder, and theft of government property.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Spotify chief executive Daniel Eck announced Monday the company will lay off about 600 employees or roughly 6% of their nearly 10,000 employees. The move comes as a cost-cutting measure after significant spending during the pandemic. A Fox News weatherman said Sunday that around seven or eight young people attacked him on a subway in New York City after he says an older gentleman was being harassed by the teens and he intervened. They had me on the ground. My ribs are all kind of bruised up to. They got their hits in.
Starting point is 00:03:45 But that guy, he got out of there. He's fine. And the cops grabbed a couple of these kids. I got x-rays. I'm okay. This is all going to heal. So New York City. Ah, what a place.
