More races are called and the country gets even redder after a diverse coalition of voters come together to deliver the presidency, Senate, and several governorships to the GOP. Three days after election day, important races continue to be called around the country, solidifying the red wave that swept America. Here are some of the most surprising results as Daily Wire's senior editor, Cabot Phillips, A. Kappas, so the dust is settling. Tell us about the picture coming into focus. Well, it's a very red picture, John. Tuesday's results will fundamentally change the way America is governed for the foreseeable future. Republicans will now control the White House, the Senate, 27 governors' mansions, at least 27 states. legislatures. And it appears the House of Representatives. We're still waiting for the final count in about 25 races. But barring an unexpected late swing for Democrats, Republicans will have the majority there with around it looks like 220 seats. Big win. That means when Donald Trump takes office on January 20th, he will have a clear path to implementing his agenda on day one. So we're starting to get more data on how Trump won. What sticks out to you? Well, you can pretty much close your eyes and

click on any county in the country, and the odds are Republicans gained ground there. This was a rightward shift unlike any in modern history. It exceeded even what we saw back in 2016. This was arguably most noticeable among Latino voters. In 2016 and 2020, Trump carried just 28 to 34 percent of the group. But according to exit polling from Edison Research, on Tuesday, he carried 46 percent of Latino voters. That is the most for any Republican on record. And that support was even more pronounced, in counties along the border. Take Star County in Texas, for example, which is 97% Latino. Trump won there by 16 points. Not only was it the first time that county has gone red in over a century. It represents a get this, 75 point swing in Trump's favor compared to 2016. We saw similar 50-plus

points swings in his direction in half a dozen other border counties across southern Texas. So the Harris campaign said his rhetoric on illegal immigration would turn off Latino Americans. evidently, that was not the case. Clearly not. And that wasn't the only voter demographic where we saw some surprising results, correct? Yeah, virtually every single voting block did end up being more red than we'd expected.

Take white women, for example. All year we heard from the mainstream media and Democrat officials that they would turn out in record numbers motivated by abortion to propel Harris to the White House. Well, they turned out, but not for Harris. According to NBC exit polling, Trump actually won among white women

by 52 to 47 margin. And more broadly, she performed worse with women than Joe Biden did four years ago. So that wave of female support did not materialize for the VP. But some of the most shocking numbers came among younger voters. In 2020, Joe Biden dominated with those 18 to 29-year-olds holding a 26-point lead. This year, according to the Associated Press, Trump only lost by six points. Incredible. Now much has been made at the fact that Donald Trump also won the popular vote by a wide margin.

Yeah, that is something even the most optimistic Republican, didn't really think he could pull off. And while the popular vote is not important from an electoral standpoint, it carries political weight. Republicans say that it's further proof. They have a clear mandate from the American people to implement their agenda. And with these results, it's hard to argue with them. So how did he pull off that unexpected feat? He made gains virtually everywhere, but he really poured it on, ironically enough, in deep blue states.

In 2020, Trump lost Illinois by 17 points. This year, it was just an eight-point margin. In 2020, he lost California by 29. This year, it was 17. New York, he went from a 23-point loss to 11 points. The list goes on. And most shocking of all, in New Jersey, Trump only lost by five points. In 2020, that state went for Biden by 16 points. Added all up, and it explains how Donald Trump ended up with a commanding popular vote victory. And like we said, an unprecedented mandate from the American people. Some are warning that they've lost touch with the working class. Joining us now to discuss is Daily Wire Culture Reporter, Megan Basham. So, Megan, for obvious reasons, Democrats are doing something of a post-election autopsy right now. This was a crushing defeat by any measure. What do they think happened? Well, as you might imagine, there's some differing opinions as recriminations are flying pretty fast and furious right now.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders published what I think you can call a pretty scathing letter on Thursday in which he said the Democrats, have abandoned working class people, and therefore the working class has abandoned them. Now, Sanders is famously an independent, but he's run for the Democratic nomination for president twice, and he caucuses with the Democrats. So he's had significant influence within the party. And he said that big money interests are controlling the Democrats, and that what that did was it gave Trump an open lane to appeal to workers of all races, and that that's why Trump won an unprecedented number of black and Latino votes.

And he also said the American people have been clear that they don't want to see so much American wealth spent on conflicts overseas and that Democrats have been ignoring that public sentiment. Trump, however, didn't. Are we hearing these same things from establishment members of the Democratic Party? From a few. So Dean Phillips, for example, is an outgoing congressman in Minnesota, which went to Harris, but by a much smaller margin than I think a lot of people expected in such a blue state. Well, Phillips told Fox News that he believes the problem is a two-party system beholden entirely to big business interests. I do not think our current state of affairs is serving democracy. There are two private corporations that have their own interests in mind far more often than they have all of ours. So Phillips somewhat saying a pox on both their houses there, but it's clear that he thinks there's a major problem within his party. And I'll say that on Wednesday night, I actually heard Van Jones on.

CNN say that the left's preoccupation with some of these politically correct terms for various identity groups is alienating the working class. Basically, what he said was that terms like Latinx and Bipok, which stands for black indigenous people of color, they're a sort of shiboleth that make average Americans feel like they're being condescended to. Now, I guess the obvious question is, will this introspection actually cause the party to shift gears? I mean, it could, but I think the problem here is that you also have influences within the party that clearly do not want to see attack back to the center. Here's what Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said in a social media video on Wednesday.

We find ourselves, I believe, in a time where there are, let's say, peers in history of mass movements of people that mobilize to protect one another in times of fascism and authoritarianism. and this is the era that we are poised to enter. And then there's cultural pressure, too, from Hollywood. Late night host Jimmy Kimmel actually choked up on Wednesday night. It was a terrible night for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hardworking immigrants who make this country go. For health care, for our climate, for science. So not a lot of sign that those who make up a large portion of the Dems donor,

base want to see that kind of change. Yeah, I mean, I think the problems run pretty deep. It'll take a while. Megan, thanks for reporting. Anytime. Winning the 2024 presidential election has already had an impact on the numerous legal cases thrown at now president-elect Donald Trump. Here to discuss is Daily Wire reporter Amanda Presta Giacomo. Hey, Amanda. So let's start with the federal criminal cases against Trump. Obviously, those can't move forward while Trump is president, correct? Right. The DOJ can't prosecute sitting president. So the two cases we're talking about here concerned the handling of classified documents and the alleged 2020 election interference. The former was dismissed over the summer by a Florida judge

who said the appointment of Jack Smith, a special counsel, was illegal. The DOJ was in the process of appealing that, but again, this case will go away. Jack Smith will also wind down the charges related to election interference. And Smith will be removed from his position before Trump's inauguration on January 20th. All right. So without Trump having to lift a finger, the those cases will dissolve. That's right. And what's the status of the state criminal cases against Trump in both New York and Georgia? Well, Trump is due to be sentenced for the New York Hush Money case on November 26th.

In theory, Trump could be sentenced by Judge Juan Mershahn for up to four years behind bars, though more likely that would be around a year for charges that do appear pretty obviously politically motivated. It's unclear, though, if the sentencing will be delayed or not. Trump's team would certainly appeal any prison time. and argue that the Constitution prevents Trump from serving time behind bars while in office. The case could also be outright dismissed. Trump's team has a motion pending arguing that the conviction should be tossed in light of that Supreme Court ruling in July about presidential immunity.

Judge Mershahn is supposed to respond to that motion by November 12th. He could move forward with the sentencing, dismiss the charges, or order a retrial for when Trump is out of office. And then this brings us to the criminal case in Georgia. There's already been a lot of drama there. where does that stand? That case, dealing with alleged election interference, is paused until at least December. As you mentioned, lots of drama going on there, specifically with Fulton County DA Fawny Willis.

She hired her romantic partner Nathan Wade as special prosecutor in the case, and the pair allegedly benefited significantly from that arrangement. Wade was paid more than $650,000 to work on the case and allegedly used some of that money to fund lavish vacations for the two of them. An appeals court is currently deciding if Willis and her office should be allowed to prosecute the case. If the case moves forward with Willis or not, Trump wouldn't be able to stand trial until after he's out of office. And this immunity ruling from the Supreme Court could also help Trump. All right. So the federal criminal cases will be dropped and the state criminal cases likely delayed. Right. Finally, there are a host of civil cases against Trump, most notably the highly controversial case in New York that was brought by AG Letitia James.

What's going on there? That $478 million judgment is currently being appealed. Quick recap, in that case, Trump was hit with that exorbitant fine of nearly half a billion dollars for supposedly presenting higher property values to lenders. Notably, though, there were no victims because Trump paid all those loans back. Lettisha James did not miss the opportunity to make another political statement immediately following the election. Here she is. We did not expect this result, but we are prepared to respond.

to this result. And my office has been preparing for several months because we've been here before. We face this challenge before. And we use the rule of law to fight back. And we are prepared to fight back once again. It's unclear what that really means. But it does underscore the political nature of at least this case. Final question. What has Trump said since this big win on Tuesday about all these cases. The campaign said through a spokesman that the election results make it abundantly clear that the American people want an immediate end to the, quote, weaponization of our justice system. On that note, former Trump A.G. Bill Barr, who's had a falling out with Trump, he told Fox News that state prosecutors should respect the people's decision and dismiss the cases against President Trump now.
