Hey, this is Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley. It's Thursday, September 22nd. This is your
Morning Wire afternoon update. Protest have erupted in Russia after Vladimir Putin announced
Wednesday that he would mobilize as many as one million veterans in an attempt to shore up his
faltering invasion of Ukraine. Over 1,000 protesters were reportedly arrested Wednesday night.
Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke at the United Nations today asking members of the
Security Council to put Russia on notice over its thinly veiled nuclear
threats. Every council member should send a clear message that these reckless nuclear threats
must stop immediately. Over one million people in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic
still do not have electricity or running water after Hurricane Fiona devastated the region.
The UK government confirmed Thursday that it will lift the national ban on fracking.
England's new prime minister announced within days of taking office that she would resume fracking
in order to boost the nation's power resources.
Former President Donald Trump addressed the FBI's raid on his Florida home at Mar-a-Lago
during a Fox News interview Wednesday night,
in which he maintained that he had the authority to declassify material on his own.
There doesn't have to be a process, as I understand it.
You know, there's different people say different things,
but as I understand it, there doesn't have to be.
If you're the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying it's declassified,
even by thinking about it, because you're sending it to Mar-a-Lago,
to wherever you're sending it.
A 41-year-old man, Shannon Brandt,
who allegedly admitted to killing a teenager
over his right-leaning political views,
was released from jail Tuesday after posting bail.
The North Dakota man was charged with vehicular homicide
and leaving the scene of a crash involving a death.
After President Joe Biden's recent comments that the pandemic is over,
Republican Senator from Kansas Roger Marshall
is moving to force a vote in the U.S. Senate
to end federal emergency powers relating to the COVID crisis.
Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted during a media conference this week that he knew that strict lockdown measures would have a negative effect on schoolchildren.
And sometimes when you do draconian things, it has collateral negative consequences.
Just like when you shut things down, even temporarily, it does have deleterious consequences on the economy, on the school children.
You know that, but you have to make a balance.
