I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire editor-in-chief John Bickley.
It's Monday, January 22nd, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
It's the final day of campaigning in New Hampshire before the presidential primary in the state.
On the GOP side, only Donald Trump and Nikki Haley remain.
Daily Wire's senior editor, Cabot Phillips, has the details.
On the eve of election day, former president Donald Trump is making his final pitch to New Hampshire voters,
alongside three campaign rivals turned supporters,
Tim Scott, Vivek Ramoswamy, and Doug Bergam.
For a part, Nikki Haley has been joined on the trail by the state's popular Republican governor, Chris Sununu.
New Hampshire Democrats will also hold their own primary, though President Joe Biden will not appear on the ballot.
That's because the Democratic National Committee failed to sanction the election after deciding South Carolina should be the first presidential primary state.
Author Marianne Williamson and Minnesota Congressman Dean Phillips will, however, appear on the Democratic ballot.
Biden is still expected to win, thanks to the support of a large right-in-end-end.
effort. Daily Wire reporter Cassie Dillon is on the ground in New Hampshire and spoke to one of the
six people from Dix Phil Notch, who will cast the first votes at midnight tonight.
I'm voting for Nikki Haley. I think that if she doesn't win the Republican nomination and
Trump does, that a lot of people will end up voting for Biden because they're not fans of
President Trump. I think we've had enough of Joe and it's time for Joe to go.
A judge ruled Monday that the divorce case of Nathan Wade be made public. Wade is the special
prosecutor in Fulton County DA Fawney Willis's racketeering and election interference case against
former President Trump. Willis and Wade are allegedly romantically linked. Here with Morris Daily Wire
reporter, Marade Allorty. Judge Henry Thompson, who's overseeing the Wade's divorce case,
said Monday that the case should be unsealed, potentially making details of Willis and Wade's
alleged affair public. Wade had asked for the case to be sealed as he pursued Trump. Judge Thompson
also paused a deposition from Willis, who was subpoenaed to testify in the divorce case
earlier this month. The judge, however, did not rule out Willis having to testify saying he would
wait to hear Wade's testimony before deciding if Willis's testimony is needed.
The U.S. military announced on Sunday that the two Navy SEALs who went missing nearly two weeks
ago during a nighttime mission off the African coast are now presumed dead. The SEALs were
conducting a nighttime mission on January 11th, which involved the boarding of a boat carrying
Iranian weapons. One of the SEALs was knocked off by powerful ocean.
waves, prompting the other seal to jump into the water to help rescue him. U.S. Central
Command said in a statement Sunday that after a 10-day exhaustive search, the two Navy SEALs
have not been located and their status has been changed to deceased.
The Supreme Court has refused to take up Devin Archer's appeal of his 2018 conviction
for defrauding a Native American tribe. Archer was initially sentenced to one year and one
day of jail time by a federal jury, but he's been out on bail pending his appeal.
Archer used to be a business partner of Hunter Biden who is not implicated in this case.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk joined Daily Wire, editor Emeritus Bin Shapiro in Poland today
to visit the site of the Auschwitz concentration camp and sit down for a wide-ranging discussion.
Among the topics, the two addressed the rise of DEI and its influence on American universities.
We should always be wary of any name that sounds like a good come out of a George Orwell book.
That's never a good sign.
Because it sounds like, sure, diversity, equity, inclusion.
These all sound like nice words.
But what it really means is discrimination on the basis of race,
sex and sexual orientation, and it's against merit.
The two also addressed why the legacy media appears threatened
by Musk's social media platform X.
Legacy media has spent an awful lot of ink on you.
There's been a lot of attempts to paint you as anti-Semitic
or paint X as anti-Semitic.
Where do you think that's coming from?
Well, I mean, the reality is that
X is competition for the legacy media.
You know, X is where people go to get the most current news and learn about the world.
So the legacy media is our direct competitors.
So they're really going to find every angle to try to cancel X.
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, opened a new temple today
dedicated to one of Hinduism's most worshipped icons, Lord Rom.
Hundreds of thousands of Indians traveled to the event to witness the opening of the seven-acre massive sandstone temple.
which cost $217 million to build.
While Hindus are praising the event as a dream fulfilled,
the temple is also subject to controversy
because India is a secular country
and the location once housed a Muslim mosque
that was destroyed three decades ago.
And 47 people were buried in a landslide
in a remote village in southwestern China early this morning.
According to state media,
it took hours for emergency services
to reach the victims due to icy roads and snowy conditions.
Over the course of the day,
day, 500 people were evacuated from the area, nine bodies were retrieved, and two survivors
were rescued.
