Starting point is 00:00:29 President Trump is giving Russia an economic ultimatum. the invasion of Ukraine or face massive tariffs. Daily Wire Deputy Managing editor Tim Rice has more. In a truth social post today, Trump said he's prepared to impose tariffs and sanctions on Russian goods if a peace deal isn't reached soon. He emphasized his respect for Russia and its people, but insisted the war must end to prevent further loss of life. Trump also said the conflict would not have started under his leadership and urged President
Starting point is 00:00:56 Putin to negotiate. This comes days after Putin said he was ready to come to the bargaining table. As for settling the situation itself, its goal should be not a brief ceasefire, not just getting some time to regroup and rearm and carry on the conflict, but long-term peace based on respect to lawful interests of all people and nationalities living in the region. The United States imported nearly $15 billion in Russian goods in 20, 2020, including fertilizers and precious metals. President Donald Trump has announced plans for a 10% tariff on Chinese imports starting February 1st,
Starting point is 00:01:43 citing China's role in fentanyl trafficking. Trump said Tuesday that he discussed trade with President Xi Jinping, emphasizing his firm stance. He also signed an executive order directing investigations into trade deficits and the creation of an external revenue service to collect tariffs. Critics warned the tariffs could raise consumer costs and, spark retaliation, while Trump argues they will boost American manufacturing. Additional tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico are also expected soon. A student opened fire inside a Tennessee high school cafeteria today, killing a female
Starting point is 00:02:17 classmate and injuring two others. The shooter then shot and killed himself. Police say all three are students at Antioch High School in Nashville. Here's public information officer Don Aaron. One of the persons that the 17-year-old shot female was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is deceased. A second individual wounded, also a female, has what is being described as a graze wound to the arm. And she is in stable condition at Vanderbiltz. Police say school resource officers were in the building, but not near the cafeteria when the shooting occurred. Parents were directed to a nearby hospital for student reunification.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Authorities continue their investigation. with Nashville police leading the response. The DOJ is warning state and local officials against obstructing Trump's immigration enforcement. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has the latest. In a memo, acting Deputy Attorney General, Amil Bov laid out the department focused pertaining to cartels, violent crime, and the fentanyl crisis. The memo cites federal law requiring compliance with immigration enforcement and warns a potential prosecution for obstruction.

Starting point is 00:04:16 India has agreed to work with the Trump administration to repatriate at least 18,000 of its citizens living in the U.S. illegally. The verification process is already underway. India hopes to maintain access to legal immigration programs like student and H-1B visas. The move follows Trump's warnings of tariffs against countries refusing to take back their nationals. Officials say cooperation could benefit India's broader migration agreements amid rising job shortages. President Trump has responded to Bishop Marianne Budd after she scolded the president over his policies during yesterday's National Prayer Service.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Here's a bit of what Bud said. They may not be citizens or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbors. They are faithful members of our churches and mosques, synagogues, Wadara, and temples. I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities. Trump fired back on social media calling her remarks nasty and inappropriate. He accused Bud of politicizing the event and failing to address the vast number of illegal immigrants who have committed crimes.
Starting point is 00:05:25 He also said Bud owes her church and the public an apology. Some lawmakers have also expressed disappointment in her remarks, saying her comments, ignored Trump's diverse cabinet appointments. Bud went on the view today where she doubled down on her politically charged sermon. I was trying to speak a truth that I felt needed to be said, but to do it in as respectful and kind a way as I could. Social media erupted with people calling Bud woke and also noting that the National Prayer Service traditionally avoids delving into political issues.
Starting point is 00:05:57 My home state, Florida, saw one of its heaviest snowfalls since 1989. Up to a foot of snow was reported. in parts of the panhandle, leading to a 70-mile closure of Interstate 10 near Pensacola. Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency urging residents to stay off the roads. Schools and universities closed and flights canceled across the region. Officials warned that hazardous conditions could persist for days. And New Orleans is embracing a rare winter storm that turned the French quarter into an ice rink. Social media videos show residents making the most of the storm, including a man ice skating down Canal Street.
Starting point is 00:06:34 hockey stick in hand. Like Florida, parts of Louisiana, including the city, saw record-breaking levels of snow, the most since records began in 1948.
