I'm Georgia Howe with DailyWire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley.
It's Monday, September 16th,
and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
More information about the man accused of making an attempt on former President Trump's life
is being brought to light.
Daily Wire Senior Editor Cabot Phillips has the latest.
Authorities say Ryan Wesley Ruth hid for nearly 12 hours in what they described as a sniper's nest
before being discovered by secret service agents.
Ruth was arrested after a brief highway chase.
Here's the audio of body cam footage from the moment he was detained.
Ruth has a history of criminal activity including past weapons charges.
He's also been discovered to have called on the Iranian regime to kill former President Trump
in a book he's self-published with his wife.
Meanwhile, Trump is blaming Vice President Harris for inciting violence against him after the second assassination attempt in just two months.
Trump told Fox News that Ruth acted on what he called the, quote, highly inflammatory language from Democrats.
The former president went on to say Biden and Harris' rhetoric is endangering his life.
The White House has not yet commented on those remarks.
Whistleblowers are raising alarms over significant security lapses at former President Trump's July rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has more.
A report from Senator Josh Hawley's office calls the Secret Service agent in charge incompetent.
The report says the agent failed a key training and made critical errors, including placing flags that obstructed agents' views.
These failures reportedly contributed to the shooting that injured Trump and killed a rallygoer.
The report also reveals that the Secret Service denied vital security resources to Trump's protection detail,
sparking scrutiny of the agency, especially in light of yesterday's assassination
attempt. America First legal is suing Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office. The suit,
which was filed today, targets potential communications records between Bragg's office, the Biden-Harris
campaign, the DNC, and groups like color of change. AFL is also investigating whether Bragg's office
coordinated fundraising efforts around Trump's case and his potential ties to Judge Juan Mershahn's
daughter, who runs a Democrat-affiliated consulting firm. The lawsuit is part of A.S.A.S.
AFL's broader inquiry into alleged political bias and the weaponization of the justice system.
This comes months after AFL filed an FEC complaint against Bragg and the Biden campaign.
We just filed a complaint with the FEC, the Federal Election Commission, against Alvin Bragg
and against the Biden campaign for illegal coordination and violation of federal law,
using the power of the prosecutor's office to try to rig a federal election.
That is against the law, and we filed the complaint.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a major military expansion,
increasing troop numbers by 180,000 to reach 1.5 million.
The decree effect of December 1st will bring total Russian military personnel to nearly 2.4 million.
This move comes as Russia faces ongoing challenges from Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region.
It also comes as the U.S. considers allowing Ukraine,
train to use Western-made long-range missile systems in the conflict.

The U.S. Coast Guard revealed over 100 issues with the Titan submersible in the years
leading up to its fatal implosion that killed five people last year.
During Monday's public hearing, it was disclosed that Titan experienced 70 equipment issues in
2021 and 48 the next year.
Former Ocean Gate Engineering Director Tony Nissen
testified that CEO Stockton Rush, who died in the implosion,
often dismissed staff concerns about safety.
Here's Nissen during the hearing.
I told Stockton, I was like, something's going on in there.
Told him the hole was flexing too much.
Everything that I could do to tell them, like, here are the alarms.
This is why we shouldn't go.
We're there.
You wanted me to buy off on the idea of going to the
Titanic, and I told them no.
Today's hearing aimed to uncover the truth behind the tragedy and prevent future incidents.
French European Union Commissioner Tieri Breton has resigned, criticizing the European Commission's
president for questionable governance.
Daily Wire investigative reporter Mairead Alorty has more.
Breton's move, which was a surprise, comes as EU President Ursula von der Leyen, struggles to finalize
her roster of commissioners amid rising political tensions in Europe.
Protone, known for his outspoken style, cited friction with von der Leyen as a key reason for stepping down.
Many people also know him from the controversial letter he sent Elon Musk, ahead of Musk's
interview with Donald Trump on X last month, in which he warned that the interview might violate
Europe's censorship laws. His resignation adds to the challenges facing the European Union as it
navigates issues like defense, the economy, and the fallout from Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
And Daily Wire's new film, Am I Racist, rounded out the weekend in the top four movies at the box office, bringing in an estimated $4.8 million and scoring a 99% audience rating.
