A Mariscaargo ship hit the Francis Scott Key Bridge,
Starting point is 00:00:30 causing it to completely crumble and collapse at 1.30 in the morning. Daily Wire's senior editor, Cabot Phillips, has the latest. The disaster took place after the mass of container ship collided with one of the bridge's support structures. The scene was all captured on video. Cars on the bridge and a construction crew working at the time plunged into the 47-degree water below. Maryland Governor Westmore declared a state of emergency over the event. He says the cargo ship reported a power issue and issued a Mayday a few moments before the collision with the bridge. The governor says this is very much still a rescue operation
Starting point is 00:01:04 as an unknown number of individuals plunged into the water. Meanwhile, the NTSB says they're investigating the incident. I'm going to get questions on fatalities and injuries, which I'm not going to answer. That is not something that the NTSB answers. I will refer you to local authorities on all of that information. What I can tell you is a search and rescue is still underway. So we are very hopeful.
Starting point is 00:01:31 And again, our thoughts are with the families and their loved ones. President Biden also gave remarks addressing the situation. I told them we're going to send all the federal resources they need as we respond to this emergency. I mean all the federal resources. We're going to rebuild that port together. This was a terrible accident. At this time, we have no other indication, no other reason to believe there's any intentional act. Baltimore's fire chief says two people were.
Starting point is 00:01:58 rescued from the river. One was said to be in good condition while the other was seriously injured. At least six people, maybe more, remain missing. Trump media stock surged in its NASDAQ debut this morning, causing a temporary trading halt. The stock, which is traded under the former president's initials, DJT, made its public appearance Tuesday morning and quickly rose by about 50 percent to more than $70 a share, which brought the value of Trump Media and Technology Group, or TMTG, to more than $9 billion. dollars. According to CNBC, the stock surge has added $4 billion, at least on paper, to Trump's net worth. The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments today over access to the abortion pill Miffa Pristone.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Daily Wire reporter Amanda Press-A-Jacquimo has more. The High Court appeared skeptical today of arguments made by the group seeking to limit access to the pill, as the Biden administration seeks to keep it widely available. The hearing stems from the administration's appeal of a lower court's ruling that, that would limit how the medication is distributed. The Solicitor General representing the Biden administration argued that it changed to the FDA's ability to approve medications would have grave ramifications.
Starting point is 00:03:11 Meanwhile, the group legally challenging the drug represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom claims the FDA failed to adequately evaluate the drug's safety risk. RFK Jr. has chosen a VP for his 2024 presidential run. His pick, 38-year-old Nicole Shanahan, is a California-based attorney who was previously married to Google co-founder Sergey Brin. She's also the president of the Bia Echo Foundation, which focuses on extending female fertility, criminal justice, and climate change. Here's RFK. I also wanted a vice president who shares my indignation about the participation of Big Tech as a partner in the censorship and their surveillance and the influence.
Starting point is 00:03:54 and the information warfare that our government is currently waging against the American people. And that's why I'm bringing on someone with a deep inside knowledge of how big tech uses AI to manipulate the public. Starting point is 00:05:19 To reach these goals, the EPA believes 35 to 56% of cars need to be electric vehicles by 2032. EVs currently make up less than 8% of the U.S. car market. California has pledged to stop selling all new gas vehicles by 2032. That state was then joined by Rhode Island, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington. The popularity of EVs varies widely by state. The five cities with the highest number of electric vehicle registrations are all in California. Hybrid cars are currently three times as popular as EVs. Here's Texas A&M Agriculture Professor David Anderson. Prices go up before Easter because all of a sudden we've got a little more, demand, and it's because of Easter egg hunts.
Starting point is 00:06:29 But we do see prices go down once we're past the kind of the Easter holiday demand bump, that demand gets behind us and prices come back down and get it.
