Starting point is 00:00:23 and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update. Donald Trump is considering legal action against CBS News as the network refuses to release Kamala Harris' full 60 minutes transcript. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has the latest. Trump's legal team claims CBS edited Harris' response on Israel to mislead voters. Trump called it potentially the biggest scandal in broadcast history. CBS defended the broadcast, stating it aired at different excerpts of the same answer with edits to make it more succinct.
Starting point is 00:00:53 However, former President Trump's campaign accused the network of deflection, raising concerns about Harris' communication skills and prompting calls for transparency. Former California First Lady Maria Shriver hosted a town hall event for the vice president and accidentally revealed some embarrassing information after being asked if the audience would get to ask questions. You're not, unfortunately. We have some pre-determined questions, and hopefully I'll be able to ask some of the questions
Starting point is 00:01:22 that might be in your head. I hope so. Daily Wire Deputy Managing editor, Tim Rice, has the details. Last night's town hall event was condemned by many as a stage production rather than a genuine town hall, arguing that moments like the one above showcased Harris's inability to handle unscripted questions. During the hour-long event, Harris only addressed three audience questions leading some critics to call the gathering a pep rally rather than a true forum for voter engagement. The Harris campaign has so far not commented. This comes as reports suggest that Harris is taking
Starting point is 00:01:53 the day off, something that former President Trump criticized today. Who the hell takes off? You have 14 days left? And she'll take a couple of more days off, too. You know why she's lazy as hell, and she's got that reputation. According to the VP's schedule, she's going to be meeting with staff in D.C. ahead of interviews with both NBC and Telemundo, both of which will be pre-recorded. A key player in the Global Alliance for Responsible Media has denied any plans to create a new coalition under a different name after Garm's collapse. Daily Wire investigative reporter Luke Roziak explains. Founding member of Garm, Japanese PR company Densu, recently announced the formation at the
Starting point is 00:02:32 Denzu Coalition, which said it was aimed at leveraging the collective power of advertisers to promote credible news. That sounds a lot like Garne, but in a letter to Congress, Den Su said it was all a misunderstanding. It blamed a partner of the 614 group for writing a, quote, hyperbolic press release that oversold its ambitions. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan called Denzu's assurance a big win in the fight against censorship. However, 614 group's website features an endorsement from a Gorm participant who said he was blacklisting the Daily Wire for conspiracy theories, and it's hosting a conference on brand safety, highlighting the risk of public relations and advertising firms continuing to try to steer news coverage and be misinformation police.

The FBI is investigating a leak of classified documents that reveal U.S. intelligence on Israel's planned military response to Iran. The Bureau confirmed it is collaborating with the Department of Defense and the intelligence community on the investigation. National Security Council's John Kirby stated he could not determine whether the leak was due to a hack or to an internal source, but said it was very concerning. Republicans like Florida Senator Marco Rubio called the leak treasonous.
Starting point is 00:04:02 It's an aiding an enemy of the United States, a government in Iran that basically says death to America, death to Israel every week. It's their slogan. One of the important reasons why we need to have a majority is if we are in the majority, I guarantee you, we will be investigating. Not just that, but other strategic leaks that have been designed to undermine American foreign policy. And in many cases to help avowed enemies of the United States. That needs to stop. That needs to end. We need to know who did this and they need to be punished. Trump said the U.S. Department of Defense is probably responsible for leaking classified documents on Israel's military plans against Iran. He warned that the leak has seriously damaged Israel's wartime strategy.
Starting point is 00:04:37 Five people were found shot to death in Falls City, Washington, and a teenager has been arrested in connection. Police say the family members who were killed yesterday morning include two adults and three teens. Meanwhile, the suspect is facing various murder-related charges. Police say another teen injured and believed to be related to the suspect was taken to a local hospital. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing. And the FBI has arrested former Abercrombie and Fitch CEO Mike Jeffreys in a sex trafficking case involving young male models. The investigation follows allegations that Jeffreys orchestrated sex events during his tenure at the brand. According to the indictment, Jeffries and his romantic partner Matthew Smith employed James Jacobson to pose as a recruiter who would try out men by engaging in sex acts with them.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Then Smith would pick certain men to meet Jeffries. They would then fly the selected men to Jeffries and Smith's various homes. Here's the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. Beyond simply hiring men for sex, Jeffrey Smith, and Jacobson use force, fraud, and coercion to traffic those men for their own sexual gratification. They caused the men to believe that attending these sex events could yield modeling opportunities with Abercrombie or otherwise benefit their careers. to anyone who thinks they can exploit and coerce others by using the so-called casting couch system,
Starting point is 00:06:07 this case should serve as a warning. Jefferies has denied the accusations. His lawyer told the New York Post, quote, we will respond in detail to the allegations after the indictment is unsealed and when appropriate, but plan to do so in the courthouse, not the media. Jacobson's lawyer declined to comment. Abercrombie and Fitch has said the company was appalled and disgusted by the claims, adding it had hired an outside law firm to conduct a review.
