The man arrested outside a Trump event in Coachella, California, denies allegations. that he was planning to assassinate the former president. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce says more.
Starting point is 00:00:38 49-year-old Vem Miller told Fox News he was arrested on gun charges after voluntarily reporting his firearms at a checkpoint before Trump's Coachella rally. Miller, a self-proclaimed Trump supporter, says he carries the guns due to past death threats, but has never fired them. He also disputes claims that his identification documents were fake. Miller was released on a $5,000 bail, and no federal charges have been filed at this time. Trump's campaign is monitoring the situation. The National Border Patrol Council has endorsed Trump for president. At a rally in Prescott Valley, Arizona yesterday,
Starting point is 00:01:12 National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez warned that re-electing Vice President Kamala Harris would lead to further chaos at the border, emphasizing why he believes Trump is the only candidate who can restore order and security. This November, we have a choice to make. continue the chaos, allow the criminal cartels to control the border, to allow drugs and fentanyl across our country, or put an end to it once and for all. A train operator was killed and at least 20 passengers injured when a train collided with a tree that had fallen across the tracks in New Jersey.
Starting point is 00:01:52 The crash occurred this morning in Mansfield Township on the New Jersey Riverline light rail near U.S. 130. Initial reports indicated just six injuries. but later updates revealed that nearly half of the 45 passengers sustained at least minor injuries. A top Oregon official has been put on leave for prioritizing qualified job candidates over gender and identity. Daily Wire reporter Zach Jewel has more. As highlighted by the New York Post, a complaint was filed against Oregon Department of Forestry's Mike Shaw by the department's former diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy officer. Oregon Live reports that Megan Donaker complained that Shaw was looking, quote, beyond gender and identity in hiring, seeking only candidates most qualified for the job. The former DEI officer claims that queer forestry personnel did not feel safe at work because they
Starting point is 00:03:05 weren't able to have conversations around pronouns. Oregon began imposing DEI policies after the George Floyd riots of 2020. The University of Nevada's women's volleyball team will forfeit its upcoming match against San Jose State. Daily Wire reporter Amanda Pressa Jacamo has the details. The forfeit makes Nevada the fifth school to refuse to play SJASU due to concerns over the team's transgender player. According to online sports outlet Outkick, the Wolfpack players made the decision without consulting the school's athletics department, which had earlier stated that the team would play. Nevada joins Southern Utah, Boise State, Wyoming, and Utah State in refusing to compete. Under Mountain West rules, the forfeit will count as a loss for Nevada.

The video was not authorized by any candidate or committee and has racked up millions of views on social media. And the Game of Thrones' Dragon-Forged Iron Throne brought in nearly 1.5 million dollars at an auction over the weekend. The auction which took place from Thursday through Saturday in Dallas collected a whopping $21 million as super fans paid big money for various props from the show, including swords and suits of armor.
