Starting point is 00:00:29 Former President Trump is touring North Carolina today. speaking to victims of Hurricane Helene in Swananoa just east of Asheville. The visit comes as Trump has been critical of the Biden administration's response to Helene, echoing the complaints of some residents who have said they cannot communicate with FEMA relief workers. Trump promised to not forget the residents devastated by Helene's destruction. When I'm president, I will stand with you until the communities are fully rebuilt. Every single inch of every property will be fully rebuilt, greater and more beautiful than it was before. In one particular instance that's been making the rounds on Twitter,

House lawmakers investigating the attempted assassination of Trump in Pennsylvania
Starting point is 00:01:38 blame the attack on an ill-prepared secret service. Daily Wire Deputy Managing Editor Tim Rice has more. As reported by the Daily Wire, the House Task Force on the July 13th assassination attempt released a 53-page interim report today, detailing what it described as stunning security failures that led to Trump nearly being killed. Among the failures, several communication errors
Starting point is 00:02:01 and inadequate planning to secure the site. The report said, quote, put simply, the evidence obtained by the task force to date shows the tragic and shocking events of July 13th were preventable and should not have happened. One significant failing was the Secret Service allowing people to get within around 150 yards of the stage where Trump was speaking without going through security screening. The House Judiciary Committee has released a transcript of its interview with Fulton County Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade. Here to break down the findings is Daily Wire investigative report.
Starting point is 00:02:31 reporter Luke Rosiac. The transcript reveals that former Fulton County special prosecutor Nathan Wade had extensive communications with the Biden administration officials, as well as lawyers involved with the House Democrats' J6 committee during D.A. Fannie Willis's investigation into Trump. Records show that Wade billed hours for meetings with White House counsel and other DC officials, but claimed under oath to have little recollection of these interactions. The testimony by Wade, who had a romantic relationship with Willis also raises questions about his qualifications. He admitted to never having worked for a DA before
Starting point is 00:03:07 and said he had to take a class to learn about Rico before using that law to prosecute the former president. CBS has finally responded to blowback against its editing of the 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris. The Trump campaign has slammed the show, accusing it of editing the interview to make the Democrat appear more polished, and the campaign demands the release of the full transcript. CBS denies the allegations of deceptive editing, admitting that a different portion of Harris's answer was in fact used, but claiming it was for clarity and time constraints. The network is still refusing to release the full transcript.

Starting point is 00:04:42 Sinaloa drug cartel members have been given permission to fire at U.S. Border Patrol agents. That's according to News Nation, which reports that an internal memo was transmitted to federal agents in the El Paso sector warning the agents of the new danger. The memo revealed that shots had been fired at contractors working in the Eagle Pass area of Texas, del Rio sector. As former Homeland Security investigation agent Victor Avila tells News Nation, the cartel has become more brazen. They don't care. You see, this is the difference of the evolution of the cartels. They fear no one anymore, especially the U.S. law enforcement. They do have the resources, and in fact they do have the capabilities and will use them against us.
Starting point is 00:05:23 And two Venezuelan nationals were arrested in upstate New York in connection with a Connecticut murder investigation. The pair were found with stolen property belonging to the homicide victim and are believed to be affiliated with the violent Trindey-Iragua gang.
