House Republicans filed papers of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas
for his handling of the illegal immigration crisis.
The impeachment articles accuse Mayorkas of engaging in, quote,
a pattern of conduct that is incompatible with his duties
and failing to maintain operational control over the southern border.
So he clearly knew the truth and willfully misled Congress
and thereby and by extension of the American people.
There have been 160 countries represented by people crossing the border illegally.
98 folks on the terrorist watch list have been apprehended.
Five million people have crossed the border illegally.
legally under his watch.
The move follows a late Monday vote in which House Republicans voted to cut over $70 billion
from the IRS slashing funding intended to hire 87,000 new agents.
The bill passed along party lines by a vote of 221 to 210 and now heads to the U.S. Senate,
which is controlled by the Democratic Party.
Newly elected Speaker Kevin McCarthy previously promised to defund the increased IRS budget.
Our very first bill will appeal the funding for 87.
You see, we believe government should be to help you, not go after you.
McCarthy has now also removed representatives Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from the Intelligence
Committee and blocked Ilan Omar from serving on the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Ukrainian troops will soon head to the U.S. for training on the Patriot Missiles Systems.
Defense officials said Tuesday the rare occurrence would take place at Oklahoma's Fort Sill,
where American troops undergo their own training on how to
operate the advanced missile systems. Here for the latest on the Biden classified documents story
is Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce. On Monday night, CBS first reported that President Biden had 10
classified documents from his time as vice president stored at his private office for the Penn
Biden Center, a Washington-based think tank. A new report from CNN indicates that among the
classified documents are U.S. intelligence briefing materials and memos on Ukraine, Iran, and the United
Kingdom. Adding to concern is the University of Pennsylvania,
home of the Biden Center, reportedly receiving more than $50 million from China, raising questions
about how these documents were kept and who had access to them.
Newly disclosed emails from the free speech lawsuit, Missouri v. Biden, reveal that Biden's
White House director of digital media, Rob Flaherty, as well as other members of the administration,
have repeatedly pressured big tech companies, such as Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook to censor
voices opposed to the COVID vaccine and other vaccine measures.
The new information highlights that social media companies' decision to silence certain users came after federal officials demanded they do so.
Central and Southern California continue to be pummeled by rain, which has left streets flooded and forced thousands to evacuate areas vulnerable to mudslides.
At least 14 people have been killed by weather-related incidents, including falling trees, since last week.
About 200,000 people are without power, and another storm is expected Wednesday.
California Democratic Representative Katie Porter announced Tuesday that she will enter the state's
2024 U.S. Senate race.
It's unclear whether or not the 89-year-old incumbent Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein will seek
re-election next year.
School districts in at least four U.S. states have reinstituted mask mandates for children
returning to school from winter break this week.
Certain public schools in Michigan, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey are requiring
mask until at least January 20th. Here's the superintendent of the school district of Philadelphia.
We do know that the Philadelphia Department of Public Health supports our very strong recommendation
and our decision to mask for 10 days. We think 10 days will be appropriate and adequate,
but we'll continue to follow the numbers and the science. Pundit and pro-Trump activist
Anitha Lynette Hardaway, better known as Diamond from the duo Diamond and Silk, passed away on
Monday. She was 51 years old and surrounded by family at the time of her death.
