Starting point is 00:00:02 I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley. It's Wednesday, December 7th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update. Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock has defeated Republican challenger Herschel Walker in Georgia's 2022 Senate runoff election, giving Democrats a 51-49 control of the U.S. Senate. Walker conceded shortly after the race was called Tuesday night. One of the things I want to tell all you is you never stop dreaming. I don't want any of you to stop dreaming. I don't want any of you to stop believing in America.
Starting point is 00:00:35 I want you to believe in America and continue to believe in the Constitution and believe in our elected officials, most of all, continue to pray for them. A 38-year-old U.S. Border Patrol agent was reportedly killed on Wednesday in a high-speed chase while pursuing a group of illegal aliens. Details are still coming in about the tragic death of the agent who is also the father of two children. This week, L.A. District Attorney George Gascon, released a new directive, effectively ordering prosecutors to shield illegal immigrants from charges and prosecutions if they could lead to deportation. A new report indicates that San Francisco's Department of Building inspection officials are launching
Starting point is 00:01:13 a probe into Twitter after it was revealed that the company had renovated several offices into sleeping quarters for employees working late nights. Twitter's new owner, Elon Musk, responded by calling out the city's mayor in a tweet, accusing the mayor of attacking companies for providing beds for employees instead of making sure children are safe from fentanyl. Musk is known for sleeping at his office and working extremely long weeks. Here he is talking about the early days of Tesla at a recent TEDx conference. I lived in the Fremont and Nevada factories for three years, living with the team. I slept on the floor so that the team who was going through a hard time could see me on the floor.

American Girl, the popular doll brand founded in 1986 that featured dolls of young girls from American history, is being slammed for a new body acceptance book marketed to three to 12-year-olds that pushes the idea that children can change their gender and promotes the use of puberty blockers. Democrat Ari Kagan, a New York City councilman from Brooklyn, who represents the 47th District, announced this week that he is becoming a Republican. Kagan says his reason for switching parties is how much the Democrats have mishandled crime in the big city.

Always loved and admired this country. I always say the story. I came with no English, no money, and now I'm living my American dream. I'm New York City Councilman. I was Democrat for more than 20 years, but in the last several years, especially the last few months, I would say, like more and more. I've seen policies that were detrimental to public safety in New York City, especially in South and Brooklyn, but citywide as well.
