Starting point is 00:03:12 First Lady Melania Trump sat down for an exclusive interview with Fox News this week. She discussed the invasion of privacy she felt when the FBI raided her home and sifted through her bedroom. She opened up about how difficult it was to watch the Butler-Pensylvania assassination attempt on her husband on TV, saying she believes the country needs him and that's why his life was spared. Finally, she blamed Democrats and legacy media for fueling the hatred of her husband. Is it really shocking that all this egregious violence goes against my husband? Especially that we hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as a threat to democracy,
Starting point is 00:03:58 calling him vile names. only fueling a toxic atmosphere and giving power all of these people that they want to do harm to him. This needs to stop. The country needs to unite. And I encourage everybody to read my letter that I wrote on July 14 again, because that cannot continue. And for the first time in 12 years, students at Notre Dame University have chosen a Republican in their presidential straw poll. The poll, which is conducted by the newspaper The Irish Rover, shows Trump leading Harris among likely Notre Dame student voters, 47.6% to 45.9%. The survey of over 700 students also found that 65% disapproved at the performance of the Biden-Harris administration. Gender and religious divisions are evident in the results with Catholic students backing Trump and non-Catholics leaning toward Harris.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Student Elizabeth Hale offered some insight. The results of this poll are really exciting, but they're not altogether too surprising. I think, of course, students are really fed up with Biden, Harris, and their administration. But even more than that, they're really excited to vote for Trump. There's a lot of enthusiasm for his immigration policies, his foreign policy, his stance on abortion. And I think above all, his economic policy plays really, really well in a university setting.
