Starting point is 00:00:00 Bar, stool, sports. Titan, Brandon Walker, Mostly Sports. This is your fault, Brandon. I'm the one that lined it up in the front. Oh, your fault. Hope your hat. We focus on Connor today.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Boy, is Connor have something going on? Welcome to Mostly Sports, presented by Modelo. I'm Mark Titus. He's Brandon Walker. It is Tuesday, September 29. That feeling in the air, that smell. Yep. You can smell it, you can feel it.
Starting point is 00:00:45 That's fart. Prana just farted. That's what it is. We are alive from Chicago. It's going to say October is right around the corner. Also, you did fart, so. Yes. Both answers are correct.
Starting point is 00:00:57 We are alive from Chicago. We were brought to you by Modelo. College football season is Modelo season. Saturdays are for the gridiron and services. If you're listening to this, this is your sign to grab a crisp of Modelo and settle in for a full day of college football. You know college football. Saturday is built on traditions and no one likes tradition like Modelo, the fight songs, the fan
Starting point is 00:01:14 quakes, the rivalry trophies past year to year. Shout out to the Illa buck. Shout out to the Illa buck speaking of rivalry trophies. Wow. One of the oldest rivalry trophies in the Big Ten. I mean, every Big Ten game has a trophy. Makes no sense. Sure. Why Illinois and Ohio State ever had a trophy or rivalry to begin with, but apparently this goes back forever. And Jeremiah Smith is obsessed with winning that game. It's very funny. That's like they win the, I think he just likes the trophy. He wins the Ila buck and he holds up the trophy and he's got a big smile on his face. So his season's over. Yeah, I think so. I think he's played, he's won everything he was trying to win this year. It's not just game day's tradition, which means those who keeps college
Starting point is 00:01:52 football traditions alive deserving Modelo. Modelo is the official beer sponsor of the college football playoff. Drink responsibly. Modello a special beer imported by Crown Import, Chicago, Illinois, stock up now. What do you want to talk about, Brandon? I know I said let's focus on Connor. I really actually don't want to do that because there's two things with the Monday night football game. Now you could focus on the Eagles, whatever. The Bears in week three were down to signing a guy off the street. They already lost two quarterbacks in two weeks. They have a coach who apparently has a culture and a system that is so good.
Starting point is 00:02:26 They just called around. They got a guy off the street, 38 years old, hasn't played in a couple years, and he walks in and is fantastic. And the Bears' offense scores 27 points. the team that presumably is a playoff team. Yeah. It's one of the more remarkable things. The Bears season has been a championship DVD through three weeks. They scored 59 points. Then in the rain, they had the thumbs up, they had the tears, they had the, they scored
Starting point is 00:02:56 three points, and it's like the highest high, the lowest low, and last night could have been anything. It could have been anything in the world. It could have been more low. It could have been more high. And it was one of the highest highs. I'm already getting excited about the idea of taking a super cut of Eddie the first five seconds of every postgame video that Eddie does.
Starting point is 00:03:14 It's because he's either like... He gives it away immediately? We're so... We're fucked. We're fucked. It's so over. Or he's just like, we have the... I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:22 I was watching last night. It is... The whiplash of this league is incredible. But yeah, is this a point in Gruden's favorite, Brandon, that he... You brought up the point that Gruden had already brought up that... Yes. It's not about the quarterbacks, maybe. It's about the system.
Starting point is 00:03:35 System more than quarterback. Yes. Yes, and maybe Ben Johnson could plug anybody in and find a way to be successful. Not to diminish how good Case Keenham was last night, but we are stunned as this is unfolding, and then it's like, is this a testament to how well coached the Bears are?
Starting point is 00:03:49 How does the quarterback learn the system in five minutes? Right. How does the quarterback come off the street and learn what they want to do in such little amount of time? How do you even do that? Yeah. It was just phenomenal, and he just kept, it looked like it was going to be a low score
Starting point is 00:04:05 in 10-7 game for a while. And then the second half, once they really got their legs under him, he just took off on them. Now, I don't think, I said it when they beat the commanders by two, and I said it when they beat the Titans by whatever, the last second time. I don't think the Eagles are good. They haven't been good at all this season. I think they're going to win that division.
Starting point is 00:04:25 I think the Cowboys who are one and two are going to win that division. I just don't think they're good. But this was more about the Bears and the Eagles. That's all I want to say. Yeah. Dominating win. Yeah, and now you're two and one. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:39 I assume I never got an injury update, so Caleb Williams is dead. Yeah. Maybe Tyson Badgant comes back, you know? Yeah. Yeah, what are they going to do next to this? Case Keenum? They got to stick with Case. Does it ride with Case Keenom?
Starting point is 00:04:51 So they definitely ride with Case Keenom in the short term in the interim, right? But what are we looking at? Three to four weeks for Caleb Williams? Yeah. You know, if you go, if you play your, you know, if you get through six games and you're four and two, hand it back to Caleb Williams. That's best case scenario, right? That's incredible.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Yeah. Yeah. Beautiful night. Beautiful weather night. Beautiful weather night. Unbelievable. Summertime shy. The, yeah, case cam was incredible.
Starting point is 00:05:19 The sneak he had, the touchdown sneak that he just called at the line. Yeah, it's awesome. It's like in Madden when you just, like, you're running and you seeking, just press dive. Yeah. Yeah. And you just kind of fall forward on your yard. The guard was pulling. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:34 There was nobody in there. And he's just like... He just had to go between them. Yeah. Incredible. What a call. The two defensive linemen had no idea what to do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:42 They didn't know what to do with their hands at all. But now I will give Ben Johnson the credit. It doesn't happen unless you have an excellent coach. Yeah. Unless you have somebody. Because I think the last touchdown, some of the touchdown, the one stricken across the middle was just as open as you could possibly be. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Maybe that wasn't a touchdown. Excuse me. You're talking about the Kleefe Raymond touchdown where he turned up the silent? Mm-hmm. I'm talking Hold on Never mind It doesn't matter
Starting point is 00:06:08 Doesn't matter what I'm talking about Connor You've been quiet I chimed in on the case Keen-thing thing How you doing Connor With the camera back after TikToks I'm fine
Starting point is 00:06:18 Connor how you did A lot long For the people just turning in I'll get you up to speed Connor on Saturday Penn State was up 17-0 I just expanded the stadium Put a ton more seats in the stadium
Starting point is 00:06:32 Sure No one sat in those seats They added to the state. They are there. Well, there's also a problem with students buying up the tickets who aren't at the actual campus. They're on branch campuses. Oh, because. Why would they buy up the tickets?
Starting point is 00:06:43 But you've been on this because they, this is your gripe with the noon kickoffs. The students can't get there soon enough. So that's probably what was going on on Saturday. Well, that wasn't the reason why it was. That game actually gets off at 5 p.m. Eastern. Oh. Oh, they're kind of late. Oh, it was late.
Starting point is 00:06:57 Oh. Can you unpack that for me? The branch campuses are buying the tickets? There's a lottery for the student tickets. Where, yes, while I do think... And if they buy them up front, they get the big games? No, no, no, no. You've got like full season ticket passes are available to people who are at the branch campuses,
Starting point is 00:07:15 you know, three hours away, and they have no intention on actually going to the game. They're just trying to resell the season ticket passes to other students at a higher rate, and they're like pricing out people. Damn. That's not a full excuse for what happened, because I still do believe that there are students who aren't showing up on time, but that's also part of it is. Yeah, and then you're up 17-0 and lost a bad. Wisconsin team.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Yeah. Saturday. And you're thinking to yourself, I'll show up Monday. I'll take my licks. You know, that's how it works. But then after the show on Monday, we regroup and we pull forward and we move on and we forget that it ever happened. And then last night happened and the Eagles were one second, one half of one second away
Starting point is 00:07:53 from getting shut out by the Bears. Yeah. One half, like, you know? Like there's a world where that ball gets snapped slightly late. Play doesn't count. Now, Eagle scores zero points last night. It's tough. That was the first game they ran the ball, like, at least effectively at times.
Starting point is 00:08:13 They haven't had much. Only gave Sequin four carries in the second half. After he was awesome in the first half. You were losing. By three. There's 10-7 a half time. Yeah. How are you doing?
Starting point is 00:08:28 Not good? Phillies play tonight. Move on this afternoon. We play at fucking one o'clock central. Oh, you got the early game? Yeah. So we move on to that. I'm 2 and 13 watching games in the cave.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Oh, boy. I went back and checked. Because I haven't been in the cave a whole lot. You heard of the cave last night? Yeah, I haven't been in the cave a whole lot in my four years here. But I mean, I can easily go back and check when I was in the cave. And I'm 2 and 13 watching. Does that count when we watched Ohio State Penn State?
Starting point is 00:08:53 Yeah, I have them all on a list. At the old office. Yeah. I'd like to hear that list. That was my introduction to sports fan Connor was Ohio State Penn State. one. That must have been 20, 23. 2020. Yeah, and Connor was like, I'm not crazy like some of those other
Starting point is 00:09:08 and then Penn State had a punt where the ball rolled in their favor like three yards and he jumped off the couch. Fuck yes. That's not being crazy. That's just being interested in the game involved in your team. With the Eagles specifically, 2020, we lost 32 to 9
Starting point is 00:09:26 against the Buccaneers in the first round wild card game. Yeah. 2025 last year lost 2319 to the 49ers the wild card game, and then last night, 27 to 7 to the Bears. Penn State football, Ohio State in 2023. I think we lost 20 to 12. And then 2024, Notre Dame college football semifinal. Oh, that was the one.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Yeah, you should have won. Sixers. Drew out of their interception. If that doesn't happen, you probably won in the national championship. Sixers, 2023 against the Celtics in the semifinals, game six. That was when we were in the cave with Dave, lost 95, 80s. And then that following game seven against the Celtics Well, what are the wins?
Starting point is 00:10:06 Lost 112 to 88. Phillies, I got one win. Yeah. That was in the NLDS last year against the Dodgers. Game three, we won eight to two. Oh, that's right. But then the very next game, game four, we lost two to one in devastating fashion where a Ryan Kirkring overthrew the ball to home plate where he didn't go to one plate.
Starting point is 00:10:27 I remember that one. Saw us lose in the World Series. To lose the World Series, period. Game 6 against the Astros in 2022. Saw two NLCS games where we lost in 2023 to the diamond backs, including when we lost in game seven and the season was over. So another Dodgers game in there that we lost.
Starting point is 00:10:44 And then USA soccer, I saw us win four to one against Paraguay in the group stage. And then in the knockout stage, I saw us lose to Belgium, five to two. So I'm two and 13. Brandon, go ahead. Desk time out. So you guys can't listen.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Just desk. Okay? take your headphones off Can't listen I for the first time in my adult life Mississippi State's 4 and oh things are good
Starting point is 00:11:11 we have an iceman contender I this is depressing I don't need this energy around me right now Should we just kick Connor out Well I don't know I just I don't know if I need Should I revel in it
Starting point is 00:11:21 Should I cause it's on him now The evil's on him for a little bit Or should what should I do It is hard because I think Seeing Connor Miserable can be funny Yeah Seeing him when it's all at once
Starting point is 00:11:33 It's not fun. It's just kind of sad. And I think that's where he's at. I think it's between Penn State, the Eagles. I mean, LeBron looking old as fuck at Media Day. Did he? Oh, LeBron looks 900 years old. And he did the wash pose.
Starting point is 00:11:49 I don't know if you saw that, that the internet's, there's a pose that every guy does at Media Day when they're washed. Yeah. And they had LeBron do it. Oh, no. Yeah. And it's really, really bad. He also was going to go play New York, maybe?
Starting point is 00:12:00 Yeah, he wanted to play New York. In Media Day, he was like, I don't want to be. be here. I would rather be in New York. But unfortunately, the Knicks won the championship, so I had to settle for the... Yeah, this is the... Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:13 What? Oh. No, no, no, no! Get it on. TJ, what was that? I was still talking about LeBron. I'm not talking... Come on. Get it out. Get it out of here. Where...
Starting point is 00:12:27 We're in a next timeout. I don't know what to... My point is... A long time out. It's not fun or funny. more. It's just kind of, it just gets, it gets, the problem of Connor is he goes past fun misery into miserable misery. Right. And I need even fun misery. That's where I need it. I know. And, and frankly, it's pissing me off. It's pit, yeah. But I think he knows the Eagles are just not good. It's not like
Starting point is 00:12:48 the Eagles are frustrating. But I told him the first two weeks, Mark, I told you, when they were winning against commanders and the Titans, I said, you know what, they're not good? And he's like, yes, they are. This is like the year when we said they were good. And he was like, no, they're not. Then they won the fucking Super Bowl, Brandon. It's, I think we spent that whole year telling them, I think we know more about the Eagles and Connor. All right. I think that's right. Play ball.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Okay. Here we go. Connor, I've been told that you had something to say during the timeout. LeBron established yesterday that he's having multiple residences, by the way, in both New York and Philadelphia. So that at least. He has multiple residences in New York and multiple in Philadelphia? No, he's doing both one in Philly, one in New York, I imagine. And his family's in L.A.?
Starting point is 00:13:30 Left his family. He said he left his family. Didn't want to leave his family just to get in. knocked out in the second round. So watch out. With the Eagles, though, yeah, see, there it is. I didn't leave my family to lose in the second round. I know that, you know, unfortunately.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Shout out Josh Reynolds, by the way. Unfortunately, that does leave open the possibility of losing in the first round. Josh Reynolds does a great job covering. Or in the play-in. Yeah. He looked, he looked, I mean, shaving the head all the way. I thought the head looked incredible. Let me see, let me see LeBron's head.
Starting point is 00:13:58 I thought the head looked incredible. I think it looks good. He looks good. Yeah, I think it looks good. He looks muscular as hell. We've been dying for him to go full ball. I know, but now that he did it, I'm like, this is bad. Yeah, so you're saying it didn't live up to expectation?
Starting point is 00:14:15 He looks very old to me. I think it'll look good on the floor. Okay. I don't think it'll look good here. I think it'll look good on the floor. Yeah. Has one of these on paper, like, super teams actually really worked out recently? I'm trying to think.
Starting point is 00:14:29 The last one. The Warriors. The Warriors. But since then? Well, the Warriors. The ones in my life, the Celtics, Arnett Celtics, that one worked, immediately. Then the Warriors worked.
Starting point is 00:14:41 And then... Miami, obviously, with LeBron. Miami worked. Yeah. But like the... You're thinking of like... O'Four. For an example.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Oh, the sons put together a super team. O4 Laker. Well, the problem... The problem now is... I'm thinking of like the modern baton. These efficiently run... These efficiency monsters, the Thunder and the Spurs are kind of sitting in the way now.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Yeah. Where you build up the team. and then you've just got this fucking wagon in Oklahoma City or other places. And then the next come out of nowhere. Right. Have you seen the guy online Titus? You might actually enjoy him. He's a basketball nerd, but he does roster construction, but he makes the player's shapes.
Starting point is 00:15:19 What? It's very interesting. He makes it, so it's like he thinks of the players as shapes and how easy they are to fill in a box. Okay. And so, like, an example is like, Shea is a square because he is the easy thing to build around. But certain players are like diamonds because they like don't take up a lot of space. Do you have it, TJ? Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:38 I actually think you would like this type of nerd. I'm a diagram for you. Today we're talking about the roster construction of the 76ers. So if you haven't seen these videos, the way it works is the shape is how easy a player is to build around. So something like a square or a hexagon is pretty ideal. Something like a star, not as much harder to fit into or around other players. And then the size of the shape is how good. good the player is or total value impact, whatever word you want to use. The idea is the more
Starting point is 00:16:08 you can fill up the square with color, the better the team is, the more white, the worse the team is. And yeah, let's get into it. Let's talk about the 76ers. Let's start with Tyrese Maxie. He is their best player. He is a very dynamic score. Gets to the rim well, you know, one of the quickest players in the league is a really good three-point shooter. Is a decent playmaker, sometimes plays with blinders on a little bit, but has up that playmaking ability and makes a lot of of the basic passes that you need to... Time out. Time out. Another desk time out. Another desk time out.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Another desk time out. This is two. All right. I want to encourage Ebo to keep bringing these things to me for sure. Like, I don't want him to stop. I love that about Ebo. Because I would never have seen this ever. And I like weird little things that he comes up with. This is, this is malarkey. This is just... This is hogwash.
Starting point is 00:16:55 No, dude, it's a lot of hogwash. This guy's just talking. This guy's just making shit up. I thought he was going to use statistical analysis. He's just talking. No, it's style. It's, it's eye test. But he ain't doing it.
Starting point is 00:17:05 It's eyest in analytics. Isn't that what you want? This is full-blown malarkey. This is gibberish. That's what this is. Click up his profile. He's got, like, different teams on there. What is the-
Starting point is 00:17:15 This don't make any sense at all. What the fuck? It's great. And also, like, they all fit in the bot. Like, you could just make the shapes smaller and they put them all in the box. It's pure weird malarkey is what it is. What the fuck is this? Pull up his profile.
Starting point is 00:17:27 He's got other, other, so, fuck. Oh, this one's bigger than the box. Give me that one. All right. Finally, it is here. We're doing the 2017. That's your third. That's your third.
Starting point is 00:17:39 This team, this team that he says does not fit in the box. Won the championship. They were one of the most inevitable champions we've ever seen in NBA history. That's how good they are. They just cruise to a title. They're bigger than the box. They fit together so good. And in his diagram, they do not fit.
Starting point is 00:17:54 They will not, there's too much of them. This is straight bullshit. This is Poppycock. When you brought it, I thought this guy was going to have these, statistical numbers and stats that we're going to... No, which one's your favorite? Click on a different... This is...
Starting point is 00:18:08 This is fucking nonsense. Look at that one in the bottom right. Click on that one. Let's take a look at the Orlando Magic's Wyman diagram. So if you haven't seen this, the shape is how easy a player is to build around. Things like squares, hexagons are better. And then the size of the shape is the player's value. So let's talk about the Orlando Magic.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Let's start with Franz Fawker. So Franz is their best player. He is a very good two-way wing, good defender. This is something we would come up with as a joke. We would tell Cody to do this and put it out, and it would take Cody three weeks to do it, but then he would put it out, and we would just be trolling everybody. This isn't a real thing.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Ebo, fuck you. No, no, do it and troll. Make a troll version. We should make one for, I'm going to make one for our show. Yeah, yeah. Our shape? Yeah, yeah, I'll make one right now. minutes.
Starting point is 00:19:04 How is one person a rhombus and one person is a rectangle? How does that? Also, some of the squares were turned to where they were just, but there's still square. There's still squares, Brandon. I don't, how does somebody get this be a star? Does gravity not exist in this, in this world where you're, I think you're over the top? Like, what the fuck is that? Why is it not at the bottom of the box?
Starting point is 00:19:23 It's an over the top view. It's a sky. Right, but why you move around in the box? Yeah, what is the orientation within that? That I don't know. Why is it's in good so far? far away from everybody. It's not my metric.
Starting point is 00:19:35 This doesn't make a lick of sense. Taylor. Who is the fucking... Is anyone in the comments saying this is nonsense? There's everyone just like, good shit, bro. KB. Katie, you gotta be a Pentagon or... Starly's, bro.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Katie, got to be a Pentagon. Katie, who can't pass out of a double is not a square. So everybody... Everybody's just like, everybody's on. Everybody's like going along with it. They're like... Finally, the rocket city. I agree with everything except KD should be a rhombus instead of a
Starting point is 00:20:06 What the fuck does this mean? I love this guy. I'm going crazy watching these videos. All right, Connor, I'm going to ask you one question. I will allow you to answer it and that'll be that'll be that. Okay. Do you lay all the blame at your offensive coordinator's feet, your new offensive coordinator after spending a year laying the blame at your offensive coordinator.
Starting point is 00:20:31 Got a new one. right? Do you lay the blame at his feet or is Jalen Hertz simply not as good as you hoped he would be this year? I laid on all the coaching. I'd say Vic Fangio got put in a fucking blender by Ben Johnson last night. That'll happen. Well, it's happened twice now against Ben Johnson last year. But Ben Johnson does that to most I know. But it sucks because Vic Fangio, you think, is one of the best defensive coordinators in the game and he's just looked totally lost against Ben Johnson. Yeah, I mean, Mannion, I think, has struggled. I also think. think it's weird how we've like resorted him like up to the booth. We haven't had our offensive coordinators be like that at all in the past.
Starting point is 00:21:12 However, many years under Siriani and Siriani in terms of his decision making last night, I thought was piss poor. Where do you want your coordinators, Mark? I've never thought about that. Do you want them on the sideline? I want him up in the booth. I want the, I think I want the offensive coordinator in the booth. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Defensive coordinator may be on the sidelines. but I guess maybe both in the booth I feel like you get a better view in the booth You get a better view You get a better understanding of what's going on in the booth But if the defensive coordinator has Guys in the booth he trusts to be his eyes Yeah that's true
Starting point is 00:21:41 Some ass on the sideline That's a good point Whereas I don't need my offensive coordinator Or get on some ass You ask me and without even thinking about it I said booth Yeah You know
Starting point is 00:21:48 I never think maybe I think about it more I want sideline but My gut reaction is booth I definitely want my O.C in the booth Yeah For sure Yeah Anyone ever been a head coach in the booth?
Starting point is 00:21:58 Hugh Freeze Yeah Hugh Freeze I guess Yeah Hugh Freeze is the Is the one So Connor You still stand by firing Everyone in your life
Starting point is 00:22:09 No No? I just yeah last night I thought that coaching No I mean the firing That already have happened That already happened You're still like
Starting point is 00:22:17 We should have fired our offensive coordinator Petulo Oh yeah Absolutely James Franklin should have been fired Tullo was way in over his head Yeah And even though I do think
Starting point is 00:22:26 Obviously you see a lot of the same struggles with this offense because it still is the Nick Siriani offense. It's much better in terms of the run design and the run design and the route running and everything. You look at the charts, it's so much more it's nowhere near as simplistic as last year. Yeah, yeah, seven points
Starting point is 00:22:43 on the road against the bears, yeah. Go ahead, Brian. Leave you're out of timeouts. That's my last one. We'll take the technical. We'll give Connor free for this, but we're still using the timeout. Don't listen to this for real. Take your headphones off. if the offensive coordinator changes every year, but the quarterback stays the same,
Starting point is 00:23:12 and the results are pissed poor year over year. But as new coaches every time in the same quarterback, at some point do you question the quarterback? Conner's not going to question the quarterback, because the quarterback is sexy. The coach is a dupus, whereas the quarterback is sexy with a good butt. God, he's so fucking hot.
Starting point is 00:23:36 And Connor for that reason. I don't know you were in this time now. He's so fucking hot. He's sexy with a beautiful smile and nice butt. T.J. Are you in this time out? And he also has aura. He's not just sexy.
Starting point is 00:23:45 He's not just sexy. He's got a aura. Whereas Nick Siriani's kind of a fucking dufus. Okay. All right. All right. Jalen hurts as hot as fuck. But on top of that, he also won
Starting point is 00:23:58 this team the game last week. He was the reason why we won the first week. He's out-duled Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl. Twice. See, there's my thing. He has been a great quarterback. He's the reason you win, the coaches are the reasons you lose. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Not necessarily. Yeah. I think last week was a specific example of Jalen Hertz winning you the game. He was kind of the reason that the, the whole reason the Titans were in the game, though. I mean, you guys drove down the field and then immediately, like, 95-yard pick down to the one. And it's like, Cam Ward rushes in. It's like, Titans didn't have much offense on. The problem with this Eagles team is.
Starting point is 00:24:36 is that there is no margin for error. They have a lot of guys. They have a lot of talent. But for whatever reason, it's not coming to form on the field. And if you make one mistake, if you shoot yourself in the foot, if you have a bunch of penalties like you had last night, if they're a misused, if there are turnovers, whatever, you can't win the game.
Starting point is 00:24:54 You have to play, like, completely clean, mistake-free football, or else we're fucked. The NFC North. Yeah. The lions, the bears, the Vikings, the Packers. Whatever opinions we had three weeks ago are all out the window. The Packers look like refrigerated ass.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Packers look legitimately bad. It's not an overreaction type thing. The Vikings are 3 and 0, but don't necessarily look good. Right. And they traded their third string quarterback, which is going to kill them. The Bears probably look the best, even though they have the one stinker in the middle. Yeah. And then the lions, I know the lions lost a buffalo, but like they're just kind of,
Starting point is 00:25:39 I feel like the lions, the lions are the best team, right? And the bears might be the best. That's why. So the Vikings are three and oh, but I think. I feel like the bears are destined to just be a volatile team. Like we're going to, that's why I said the thing with Eddie is I, I am forecasting seeing Eddie do every bear's game. It's just going to be up and down, up and down.
Starting point is 00:25:55 He's just going to be like, that was a disaster. He's going to do that to start next week's video. Yeah. The next one, he's like, Ben Johnson, best offensive mind. I think that's where the bears are headed. But I'm confident the Vikings are not the best team. Yeah, you're confident that the Vikings are the best team. Pretty confident.
Starting point is 00:26:11 The defense is great. At some point the offense has to do something. At some point the offense has to have more than 250 yards. I don't think they've had 250 yards in the game. Yeah. The defense is great. Defense is great. Defense is great.
Starting point is 00:26:21 Interesting division for sure. Yeah. I think the Packers are legitimately bad and pretty much everything. Pretty much every facet of the game, the Packers are bad. can see why the dolphins are bad, the Titans are bad. You can see why on paper all these teams are bad. I don't, I still don't, I know Michael Parsons is out. I feel like that's the question, the answer to every Michael Parsons question over the last five years.
Starting point is 00:26:47 When is he back? His defense isn't very good, but Michael Parsons is out. When is he back, by the way? I think half the season. Did I hear that? Connor, do you know? I don't know. Sorry, I'm doing shapes.
Starting point is 00:26:59 I'm doing shapes. I was, I'm working on. I'm working on my shapes over. I mean, I, I, I got to be a square. I got to be a square. You are a square. Yeah. No question about that.
Starting point is 00:27:12 I was, Brandon's a biggest square. I was thinking about making you like a really big five star, six-sided star. Because, by the way, are you horny? What? What? Are you horny? Like in this? No, I'm asking you, you know, are you?
Starting point is 00:27:29 Yeah. You might want to use a timeout on this one. Are you horny? Time out. Generally. Yeah. Time out. Well, you sent, and you put it on the press.
Starting point is 00:27:36 What was? No, no, no. This is going somewhere. All right. This is going somewhere. Are you horny? Because you sent this to the group chat. And you sent us a weather graphic that you believe is penis shaped.
Starting point is 00:27:49 And I don't know how penis shaped it is. Now, hang on a second. Now hang on, because I might have Ebo's back on. Yeah. I'm asking. Do you know what a penis looks like? Yeah. Have you seen what?
Starting point is 00:27:58 The balls are misshaping. You might want to use your timeout. The balls are misshaped. What does your penis look like? Have you? The balls are so misshaping. I've never drawn a penis on a piece of paper? That's a penis.
Starting point is 00:28:10 You've never taken your buddy's textbook and drawn a penis. Why are the balls separated? Brandon, I'm with you. That's clearly a heart. Yeah, thank you. Thank you, Connor. That's clearly a heart shape. I'm just saying, yeah, there are penis qualities to it, but, but like the nuts are
Starting point is 00:28:29 everywhere. There's even a slit with Lake Michigan. There are nuts everywhere. fucking shit out of the lake. Yeah, it's not a penis. I'm actually... I don't think that's 100%. I'm actually woke to the National Weather Service doing this
Starting point is 00:28:41 so they can draw more attention to bad weather. They're like, if we make it look like a penis, people will acknowledge it. Explain that gap to me. You're just drawn circles. That's the perineum. Yeah, that all happen sometimes. Your balls will split. Yeah, this is a penis sitting on a bike seat.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Yeah. That's what it is. The balls are getting split down the middle. it's certainly in the penis family. I don't know if it required a prep sheet spot. Yeah. I mean, it's coming for us, Brandon. It is a penis.
Starting point is 00:29:13 I think he's pointing out that the penis is pointing right at us. Right at you, really. It's kind of going over us. Yeah. It's more Milwaukee, I'd say. Yeah, it's like sitting on our forehead. Yeah. Thank God they have that aircraft carrier to play baseball in.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Are you making someone a penis? And you're doing the show? thing, are you doing penises? I'm thinking that. You just make them all. Make it all penises. Two circles. Making them all penis.
Starting point is 00:29:42 It's just, it's not Martha's, it's on the prep sheet. It's, it's, it's third. Yeah. It's in a, it's in a prime spot. All right, you know what? And penis head to torture Chicago. Weather is like the most talked about thing in the history of human.
Starting point is 00:29:53 When have we ever talked about Chicago weather on this show? Uh, when it snowed one inch that day, and we did school closings. Oh, that's right. We got to do that again. Also, every day when we say Connors, make fun of, The weekend was unbelievable weather, by the way.
Starting point is 00:30:07 It's our number one. We're in a good season right now. We're not in the summer anymore. I know. You don't get any of this. You get zero points for this. Well, it's more so just an overall philosophy that you guys think that you can only have good weather in the south or out west.
Starting point is 00:30:21 It's not what we're... No, no, no, no. That's not what we said. You said Chicago summer is the best because the weather's awesome, among other things. And the weather is not awesome. It's a magical season. Well, here's a stat. I didn't notice this.
Starting point is 00:30:33 And now we're in the fall. and the weather's pretty good. Go ahead, Brandon. Quarterbacks that are 38 and older are 7 and 3 this season. Hmm. That includes two Matt Stafford losses. Yeah, he's 1 and 2. Aaron Rogers is 2 and 1.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Yep. Case Keenham's 1 and 0. Those are your three losses, Stafford & Rogers, and then that leaves a... Oh, cousins? Cousins, Cousins 3 and 0, yeah. Huh.
Starting point is 00:30:58 How about that? I'll be goddamn. How about that? How much do you want the Raiders start to be real? Yeah, I know. Yeah. I think so the Chargers are terrible. That helps.
Starting point is 00:31:14 The problem is the Broncos and the Chiefs both look very, very good. So the Raiders at some point are going to have to fall. They're the third best team in the division. Yeah. If they were in either south, I would like them a lot more, Bram. I'll say that much. but they're not. And that's, uh,
Starting point is 00:31:33 I mean, unfortunately, they still have to play the Broncos twice and the chiefs twice. The South, the South, the South, it's both, both NFL Souths are not playing southern football.
Starting point is 00:31:44 We love football in the South, Mark. Yeah. And we're the best region for football. Yeah. And these NFL, well, what's, you,
Starting point is 00:31:51 yeah, I mean, you, you were, there was a time. I mean, statistically, just dominance.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What are we talking about? last three years. Not even close. National champions have been. Not even close.
Starting point is 00:32:05 I mean, for God's sakes, Indiana's won a national championship more recently than the South. But, you know, I mean, you can't erase decades and decades and decades of dominance. It would be impossible to erase that. Why would you erase that at all? Why do you even want to erase that? That just doesn't seem. Marzetti Ranch is the best ranch in America. It's not even close.
Starting point is 00:32:24 When you taste the top shelf Marzetti stuff made with real buttermilk, real herbs, real spices. is Marzetti's been making premium ranch and blue cheese for over 100 years, so they know what they're doing over there at Marzetti. Mark, we go to a restaurant right now, we order appetizers. What are we ordering? Go. Oh, give me some potato skins. That's exactly what I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Give me some potato skins. Exactly what I was going to say. And you know what ranch we're dipping that in? Marzetti. I want to dip those in some ranch, please. Yeah. Potato skins are so good. So good.
Starting point is 00:32:52 They're so good. The best. Connor, are they good or not? My favorite appetizer, specifically with Marzetti ranch. They are unbelievable. We're talking about real buttermilk, real herbs, real spices, real blue cheese chunks, and real good on wings. Yes, pizza, poppers, veggies, and anything you can dip on game day. Don't settle for basic, boring ranch.
Starting point is 00:33:11 Get the restaurant quality stuff from Marzetti. Get the good ranch. Get Marzetti. Find Marzetti ranch at your local grocery store, refrigerated by the fruits and veggies. And visit marzetti.com to learn more. Septanky Stadium is here. The playoff. are starting today, Brandon.
Starting point is 00:33:30 That sucks so much. Print the shirts, Cepankees. And we are getting Yankees Red Sox. Where does this fall in your juice meter? Yankees Red Sox in the playoffs, but it is the wild card round that just started.
Starting point is 00:33:45 How long we've been doing this, the expanded wild card round? Is it 23? 23? 22? Three years? Five years? seven years? Ebo, stop playing with shapes. Do you want
Starting point is 00:33:56 a quick review? I'm going to say, I looked over at his screen, I regret it. I'm going to say this is the fourth year. What? Let me see what you're working on, Evo. It's just some analytics. What the fuck is that?
Starting point is 00:34:09 It's just some advanced analytics. There's nothing to worry about here. Do a 15-minute break. That might be. You can't make somebody a pussy, Evo. That might be the most nonsensical thing you've ever brought to the show. I will be, when I'm eating dinner tonight, I will be thinking about that. You're going to go watch that.
Starting point is 00:34:30 I'm going to, like, just. slam my fork down and like have to take a walk. But the fucking video. No, you're going to be looking at your plate of food and being like, you know what? Like, SG really is like chicken because like you can really build around him.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Yeah, he's a rotini. Yeah, yeah. And Chet hungry. He's like bread. Unbelievable. Everyone needs bread.
Starting point is 00:34:49 I love bread. 2022 was the, 2020. So this is the, the fifth year they've done this. Yeah, there's a lot of juice to it. There's juice to it.
Starting point is 00:34:57 But I don't sleep on the Braves Phillies, Connor. I mean, that's a hated robbery. too. I know. And so there's there's juice all over. I will say poo-poo on the Cubs for blowing that home game. Oh, no. That
Starting point is 00:35:08 sucks. It really sucks, Brandon. Yeah. It really, really, really sucks. Yeah, I don't really have much confidence. The pitching is terrible. The hitting's not good enough to make up for the pitching and yeah, but it is a three-game series and it's baseball, so who the hell knows? We need you guys to win to set up
Starting point is 00:35:26 Octawalky next week. Octawalky? That's what you want. Octa Octa Fah Fahler They changed it It's American family film
Starting point is 00:35:37 Yeah Octamerica Octerica Octa Yeah We'll see I can't believe The Phillies Braves are
Starting point is 00:35:47 One What's the thinking behind that White Sox Astros is the most TBS Middle of the day series of all time
Starting point is 00:35:54 And TBS doesn't even have Wildcard rights And I still feel like they should put that on TBS. The Astros went 81 and 81, Ebo? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Yes. No one had a winning record in that division. So stop me from still believing the Astros are simply better than the White Sox because the Astros are the Astros and they've been in the playoff for the entire last decade, whereas the White Sox are visitors to this thing. The Astros have had pretty poor pitching this year. Bad pitching. Relative to the league, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:23 I was, when I went to the Sox about, I don't know, when it was three weeks ago, and then afterwards I looked up their stats because I was fascinated. They have four or five guys with with 30, 35 home runs. They're all batting 206. They're all batting like 205. Like what did Colson Montgomery bat this year?
Starting point is 00:36:43 He had 30-something home runs? Yeah, he was, yeah, he was low, like low 200s. Murakami was low. Markami was like 2-11. Yeah. Which I, what's the point of you don't care about batting average until you do.
Starting point is 00:36:58 Is it like in the 150s? Is it, is it, what, can you handle two, two 11? I mean, in a small sample of like a series like this, it's going to be, well,
Starting point is 00:37:09 in the series of all a time. Yeah. Oh, it's like, 150 with 50 homers. Is that player good? That's a great question. That's a fantastic question. I think it depends on what they provide
Starting point is 00:37:19 outside of, you need a better picture of, you're, is that hit or good? You're looking at the picture really close. You need to take a step back and be like, are they taking walks? Are you looking at it too close if he bats 150?
Starting point is 00:37:31 Yeah, like, okay, let's say Yeah, I probably, because if he walks a decent amount, it's like, what if he gets to like a 300 on base with his walking? Like, with walks, like, that's fine. Yeah. I don't know if he's like a legit, like, great player, but you can be a very impactful player hitting 150 with 50 Homer.
Starting point is 00:37:51 Kyle Schwerber in 20, 20, what? A couple years ago. He was close. 197 with 47 home runs. Oh, yeah. Yeah, but he walked. He's a good player. He's a good player, you know. It was a on base.
Starting point is 00:38:05 That's the guy you want on your team, for sure. So. He is a great guy. Yeah. What? You hang out with him? No, when I met him here, it was very nice. Does a lot of great work for charity. Astros are, they finished 500.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Yeah. We don't have a team with the losing record in the playoffs after all. No. No. Where are the Mariners? What was their fun? record. They were god-awful. They were terrible, right?
Starting point is 00:38:28 Yeah, they were, every start of season, they had like, you thought they had eight starting pitchers? I think they had zero, maybe one. Yeah. They had a couple guys that were pretty good. And then Cal Raleigh was, he did turn it on towards its September, right? He salvaged a little bit. Yeah, but it was not against us.
Starting point is 00:38:46 It's like they had the one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eighth worst record in baseball. Really? Yeah. Wow. And that was. They were a game away from the World Series last year. Yeah. Did you see they had the one?
Starting point is 00:38:55 Their coach announced his own firing. No? What? Their manager did a press conference that was like, yes, I'll tell you my last day as the managers. And nobody knew that. Okay. So he fired himself. Oh, you might find this as an interesting nugget.
Starting point is 00:39:13 Yeah. So the Seattle Manor is one game away from the World Series last year. Right. Had high expectations coming in. They finished 76 and 86. Yeah. The Pittsburgh Pirates who had kind of no expectations coming here. Yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 00:39:26 It's 82 and 80. Huh. Huh. Huh. Well, why would anybody care what the Mariners and Pirates record are against each other? They're not related to- Somebody get AJ Persensky on the horn. I want to know where AJ.
Starting point is 00:39:37 I want to know where AJ Presensky right now. Bring me Presensky. That's son of a bitch. I actually have, I've worked myself into shoot, Brandon, that I'm going to have a feud with AJ Prasinski all because we argued over the Mariners and pirates for five seconds in April. Yeah. And that's all it takes for me.
Starting point is 00:39:58 And then I ended up being right. And now I'm going to take it to your great. For, yeah, the rest of my life, just be like, I told you, AJ Persinski. All right, gut reaction, Mark. Who wins this series? Philly's Braves. Braves. Who wins this series?
Starting point is 00:40:10 White Sox Astros. I'm going to say White Sox. I think I like the White Sox. Red Sox Yankees. It has to be the Yankees. It's Padres. Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:40:21 I'm not even trying to be defeated. Obviously, anything can happen. It's baseball. and I want to get sucked into the magic. It's just the pitching and the Padres having the home field. And the Cubs just are playing uninspiring baseball. I would like to throw a scenario at you. I brought this yesterday on Wobb and Dave were complaining.
Starting point is 00:40:39 Dave was complaining because he's a Red So he's a Red Sox fan, they got to play all three wildcar games in New York. So these first series, all three games are in one place, right? Yeah. And they said that's not fair. It's not fair. Just go back and forth. And I said, what if we met in the middle?
Starting point is 00:40:55 And what if it's a two out of three series, right? Yeah. First two games are in New York, but if Boston wins one of those games, they get game three back in Boston. Whoa. So then you got, New York still gets two games, Boston gets one, but Boston has to earn the home game. And they said, no, that's crazy.
Starting point is 00:41:13 You can't give game three to the visiting team. Like they would have earned it. Do you think that's sacrilege, or if you're whining about it's not fair that they're all playing in one place, That's at least not that. So what do you think? I like how it is.
Starting point is 00:41:28 I don't know. I think that... You don't mind this. I think the expanded playoff is stupid. I think we should go back to one wildcard team. I like that about MLB. You win your division. Three division champs and a wild card.
Starting point is 00:41:39 It creates the divisional rivalries. You know, it places a massive emphasis on that. And then we throw one bone to like the one team that was just on the rare occasions where the second best team in the league was in the same division as the best team. You know, it's like, you know what? you can come join us too and then that's it I like that but so well the problem this year would have been the Astros would have gotten in and you would have had several teams better than them not yeah
Starting point is 00:42:03 right yeah but it makes it makes the divisions mean something it means something and it's juicy and then we go back to the schedule old scheduling I basically want everything to just go back I want everything to go back you won't hit or go back now careful how far back Mark baseball had the greatest structure
Starting point is 00:42:19 and the history of sports it was the greatest fucking thing ever and they blew it they shit all over the legacy of the National League in the American League. And then Jackie Robinson came along. It was fucking awesome, Brandon. And I know we're joking, but I get very serious about this. You had one league that had the pitchers hit.
Starting point is 00:42:34 You had one league that had a designated hitter. They never played each other. They played each other. If you wanted to see an American League player and a national league player on the same field, you had one chance in the middle of the summer in the All Star game. You had one other chance in the Fall Classic. That was it. It was so intriguing.
Starting point is 00:42:48 It was so there was like a mystical energy around baseball. It was like there are these. there's this other existence over here. I'm a National League fan, but like, this is going on over here. And then we might run into them. The two league system was, it did create intrigue.
Starting point is 00:43:06 It was so intriguing, Brandon. It was fascinating. There were players you would just never see. And now you got the Cubs Red Sox in in the season in Tampa Bay. Ebo. I actually think that's the greatest crime ever committed against baseball.
Starting point is 00:43:19 What are we doing? So if you're going to expand it, I don't mind this. because I think for me the wild card round, I honestly don't even think about this as the playoffs. I think about this as a play-in. And I just want to get it over as fast as possible. Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:33 And so I'm fine with the home team just playing all three games. But they want to alternate? Because that would drag. Yeah, they want a game one in New York, game two and Boston, game three in New York. Now that's easy for Boston, New York. But like Cubs in San Diego, you're playing a game at 9 o'clock at night in San Diego,
Starting point is 00:43:52 and then you're going back to Chicago for tomorrow, Like, that's a lot. So they, like, have build-in travel days probably. Yeah, now you're dragging it out. This way you just bang, bang, bang, bang. Get it over with it. We're to the real playoffs. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:04 If we still have the old system, three division winners, and number one wild card. So I'm just doing this in my mind. In the American League, that would have been the Guardians, the Rays, the Astros, and the Yankees. Right? And in the National League, that would have been the Braves, the Brewers, the Dodgers, and who was the number one who's the number one lock card over there?
Starting point is 00:44:27 Is the Phillies or is the No, or less. Or is the Padres. Padres are number one, yeah. Yeah, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I was just wondering what it would look like.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Because that American League kind of sounded, I do like the Red Sox are in there. I miss the divisional rivalries. I miss, yeah. I miss the Yankees and Red Sox playing 10,000 times in the regular season. And every time they play, they have an understanding
Starting point is 00:44:54 that only one of us is going to make the playoffs, probably. There's a chance one of us could get the wild card, but for the most part, you work under the understanding. Only one of us can make the playoffs this year. And these games between us and the regular season are going to dictate who makes the playoffs. And now it's just a formality even then, yeah. Anyway, septanky Stadium is here.
Starting point is 00:45:15 It's the takeaway. And if they win, it'll be Oktanky Stadium. Octanky Stadium. What are the Astros called their park these days? Dakin. Okay. All right. That was good.
Starting point is 00:45:28 Good bait. All right. Be serious, DJ. Dikenfield. Ain't no way they call their state of Dike and Field. MLB trivia I saw today, Braden. Oh. Two franchises.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Yes. Only two in the entirety of Major League Baseball have never won their division, ever. One of them, I feel, is pretty straightforward. I imagine you could think of it. One of them might surprise you. Zero division championships in the history of their franchise. I know one. I know one.
Starting point is 00:46:04 And I will, you know what I'll do? I'll give you three strikes. But then if you, if you whiff on three strikes, you're out. What if a foul tip one. Go ahead. Go ahead, Brandon. Whenever you're ready. A division championship.
Starting point is 00:46:25 So this is going to be odd. because they've won two World Series. Yep. But have the Marlins ever won the NL East? The Marlins have never won the NL East. The Marlins have won two World Series, both as wild card. They were the first franchise ever win the World Series as a wild card. Now this team...
Starting point is 00:46:46 They have never won the NL East ever. Have the Colorado Rockies ever won the NL West? Right, you are, Brandon. It is the Marlins and the Rockies. Those are the two teams. Wow. Never won. Came in together.
Starting point is 00:46:56 They won their division. Yeah. Rockies was touch and go there because they had some good wild card. They had a good wild card team in 95, I think. And then they had that crazy run in 2007, but that only got them the wild card. I was not surprised to learn the Rockies are never won, especially the Rockies are never going to win. The Rockies will just, the division they're in now, that's just never going to happen. The Marlins, I was surprised.
Starting point is 00:47:22 They won two World Series. You would have assumed at some point it would have fallen into place. The Rockies had their fourth straight 100 lost season. Shouldn't have won that first world's been. Eric Greg cheated. Yeah. Eric Greg cheated. The umpire against the Braves in 1997.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Have you ever seen a super cut of that? That's pretty bad. He was calling pitches outside. They were a foot and a half outside, Mark. Yeah. Before ABS? Yeah. Was this before ABS?
Starting point is 00:47:50 Yes. Yeah. I'm sure Greg Maddox didn't benefit that from his entire career. What? What is that? Do you think they'll, I'm going to ask you the question I asked AJ presents, and then he laughed at me and said, buddy, the Mariners will be better than the pirates.
Starting point is 00:48:04 Good job, AJ, you fucking idiot. I love how you're joking, but also angry. I want to turn this into a blood feud, just make it very personal. Cody, beat your ass. Ebo, the redoing divisions in baseball. Is that something you see happening in the next? We'll say 10 years.
Starting point is 00:48:29 I wouldn't be shocked at all. Five to five to 10 years. Does that feel like it's plausible to you? Very. I mean, like you said, the leagues don't exist anymore. Yeah. They do, but like the... But yeah, if you're going to do the balance scheduling,
Starting point is 00:48:40 then what, if you've already kind of thrown away the idea of the divisions matter, and why not just go all the way and kind of reshuffle them for competitive balance a little bit, you know? Yeah, especially if they go to expansion. I don't know if they would just do six and... They would do two 16 divisions. I don't think that would go for that. What about the idea? I saw someone propose an idea of doing like tiers.
Starting point is 00:49:01 of your payroll. Like basically, like, we know going into the season that, like, the Dodgers and the Yankees and the Mets and the Cubs, they're going to have more money than a lot of the teams. Sure. So they're, I, I, I, competing with each other? Yeah, and you put like.
Starting point is 00:49:18 But the Rays already compete with those teams. And the Rays have the tiny, the Rays already beat those teams. Yeah. And the Brewers do. I saw the graphic, though, and I stared at it and I was like, I like, I like this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:27 This looks good. And there's almost like a promotion relegation based on money. I think you. You're creating like a Power 5 group of five in Major League Baseball. Kind of, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:49:38 It was interesting. I wouldn't be shocked if they do two expansions, go to 14 divisions, and then basically do, go back to maybe, what, two outcarts, right? Nashville and where? I know it's all like cities been discussed. Vegas. Is that? Vegas is good.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Expansion will be what triggers the shuffling. Yeah. It always does, yeah. You're not going to shuffle the divisions until we start. Yeah. Another Canadian team? They don't need another one. I mean, like, I genuinely think they would do something as crazy as like
Starting point is 00:50:14 Matt's Yankees, St. Division. Because it's been. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Brandon, I mean, we've already given up everything that is sacred in terms of the history of baseball. No, no, no, no, no, no. We've gone down, yeah. Why wouldn't? No, everyone said that I was crazy.
Starting point is 00:50:29 You want to put the Cubs in the White Soxson division? they're one American League and one national team. Well, no. I mean, are they, though? How are they a nationally team? You did this, Brandon, you did this. I didn't do this. I bet you do miss pitchers hitting.
Starting point is 00:50:41 Just because I didn't want to see pitchers hit. This is what you did. This is what you did. You did this. They would, Major League Baseball would so, there would be such an intense benefit for them to have Yankees' Mets in the same division. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:50:56 See, they would benefit so much on their bottom line. If they could have them play. Everybody shut up. Everybody shut up. Bring back the Expos. If you had Mets, Red Sox, Phillies, Yankees all playing four times a year. Or 12 times years. You can't separate the Braves from the Mets and the Phillies?
Starting point is 00:51:15 What? Because they're division rivals. You don't want to separate from the Braves, do you, Connor? I mean, I felt the same way when we lost the Brewers. Brewers. You brought the D.H. Riggily Field. This is what. Then the next thing you know, Savannah bananas are here.
Starting point is 00:51:28 You want to go back to not having lights at Wrigleyfield? All of a sudden, the fucking... Jumbotrons. I got the fucking rays playing at Wrigleyfield. Can you believe that? This is like in college football if we put fucking UCLA and U.S. I had to turn on my television
Starting point is 00:51:40 and see the athletics playing in Wrigley Field because of you. The Oakland Athletics. Can you believe that? And next year, you're going to have to turn on your TV and see them playing in a minor league baseball stadium because of Brandon. Well, I didn't do that.
Starting point is 00:51:54 You did this. Yeah. Um, I'll do an ad. Nashville and Montreal. Those are the teams I want to see. Montreal? I want to see the Expos.
Starting point is 00:52:04 What? You don't want to give another team of Canada, do you? The Expos, dude. You didn't watch that documentary, did you? We got to break up the Blue Jays. I think anything to break up the Blue Jays would be good. But the documentary doesn't matter if they just get them back. That's true.

Starting point is 00:53:56 Thanks for the congrats. I'm sorry, I have a new phone. This number isn't saved. Congrats on another W. Thank you again. Sorry, I'm not sure this is. Congrats again. You're still not sure who this is.
Starting point is 00:54:07 When number four on the air, yes, sir. Thank you. Who is this number, please? It's pretty funny. So should the guy have, is a guy a random? Should he not have his number? I think that's the idea. Okay.
Starting point is 00:54:18 Yeah, like he somehow stumbled across his number. This is a good use of the number, you know? Yeah. You have a celebrity's number. You're not harassing him. Yeah, don't harass him. Just congratulate him. I like it.
Starting point is 00:54:27 Because who wouldn't, even if you don't, know who's telling you congratulations. You still appreciate it. You still want to, yeah, hear congrats. That's a thing all of us want to hear, right? Hockey starts today, Mark. The National Hockey League starts today. On the day that baseball is starting its postseason.
Starting point is 00:54:43 Real games? Like the actual... We're not preseason. The Hurricanes and the Panthers play today at four, I think. And then the Blackhawks play tonight against the Golden Knights. Hockey just doesn't give a fuck, huh? They just like... They don't give a fuck.
Starting point is 00:54:57 They do not care. They do their own thing. They don't try to win anybody over. They're just like we're going to exist over here. Yeah. Either you can watch us or not. It's doing pretty good, though. We don't give it to damn.
Starting point is 00:55:06 I will say for Chicago fans, quite the random Tuesday in October late at night. You got 9 o'clock, you've got the Cubs Padres, and at 9.40, I believe, the Black Hawk season opener. White Sox? Yeah, but the white, but I'm talking about late. You're talking about late at night. I'm just talking about late at night. Like, you guys stay up and watch your two teams. Oh, you're saying, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:25 24 hours of like waking up this morning, you know. Would you like to? Would you like to? Do our NHL? Preview? Oh, yeah, yeah. They added two games to the NHL schedule, by the way. So it's at 89 games now?
Starting point is 00:55:38 84. Yeah. Why? Don't know. Okay. I'm going to look into it, though. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:55:46 Well, I'll just, can I just go first? I'll say Chicago Blackhawks. That's a good start, Brandon. Yeah. I can't believe NHL's starting tonight. September start for hockey? Yeah. Septaki.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Septaki. We are getting a sub. Yeah, it is. as fuck, isn't it? Septitin, center. It's fun. Try it at home, by the way. Try that at home.
Starting point is 00:56:11 Just put septine oxygen from everything. The Bruins? Got to give a special shout-out to my CBJ of Columbus. Yeah, yeah. They made a big trade yesterday. That's right. And they signed Fantilli.
Starting point is 00:56:24 The Hurricanes, defending champs, Panthers. Yeah. Give me the lightning. trying to think of. He said the Rangers. Yeah, the Islanders.
Starting point is 00:56:39 The Bruins? Oh, Blutman's team, whoever they are. The Golden Knights. That's right, yeah. Golden Knights. The Cracken? Right? Are they?
Starting point is 00:56:52 Devil rays. The Kings? Is there a Cardinals? The Ducks? Not a Cardinals. The Ducks. All right. The mammoth?
Starting point is 00:57:07 The mammoth. That what we call them? Good poll. Yeah, good pull. Deep cut. The Dallas Stars. You're on a roll, dude. You love hockey.
Starting point is 00:57:15 I do love hockey. I do love hockey. The wild. I think I'm out. The Bruins. Yeah. The Brewers. Oh, the penguins.
Starting point is 00:57:31 Yep. The penguins. And the Flyers. Dingo. Um Connor, you want to do one? I was going to do flyers. You took mine.
Starting point is 00:57:40 Okay. The... What about the the flames? Yeah. Yeah, you would. What about the... What about those crazy Canucks?
Starting point is 00:57:55 Oh, yeah. Yeah, good one. Let's do the Canadian teams. Yeah, the flames, the Canucks, the... Oilers? Oilers. Yep. That's right.
Starting point is 00:58:06 The Jets? No, they're New York. Ottawa has a team. Cichuk's on the team. Right? The Ottawa. Yeah, the senators. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:22 How about the, what's the other team, the avalanche? The avalanche. The avalanche. Yes. Does Halifax have a team? What are the big cities in Canada?
Starting point is 00:58:38 There's, Oh, the Canadians Montreal Canadians That's the one we couldn't think of The Predators Yeah The Predators He's never worn the shirt I got you
Starting point is 00:58:54 I know Did we say Islanders? Yeah we did The Bruins, the Flyers, the Islanders The oh the Washington Capitals Washington Capitals Yes Washington Capitals
Starting point is 00:59:07 I forgot that one About the, um... The ducks, the kings, the... The motherfucking. San Jose Sharks. San Jose Sharks. I was going to say... Shout out Joey Avery.
Starting point is 00:59:20 San Diego doesn't have a team, right? No. Does Fresno have a team? I can't remember. I don't believe. Fresno has a team. The motherfucking. Oh, the whalers.
Starting point is 00:59:29 Oh, the motherfucking devils. The motherfucking. He's here today. He's here. The motherfucking devils. A. Oh, teach, that was mean. Okay, we got left.
Starting point is 00:59:41 All right. This is not going exactly how. Atlanta Thrashers. Cody's boys. Sabers, the Sabres. The Sabres. Um, there are another team in,
Starting point is 00:59:55 one of the big cities in Canada, Montreal, here we go. Vancouver, Winnipeg. Calgary. Calgary. Oh, Thrashers.
Starting point is 01:00:04 Um. And then, uh, Halifax. There's how The Not the Argonauts The Argonauts
Starting point is 01:00:13 No Central Division should be Oh the blues The Salos Blues The Salos Blues Atlantic Division Dude dude What the Fondota
Starting point is 01:00:26 Panthers We already have them The Miami is Florida The Lightning Tampa Bay Jacksonville Clock Does Virginia Beach have a team
Starting point is 01:00:37 Does Oh, they do. It's an HL team, though. Oh. Oh, the Bears. Greensboro. Gargoyles. Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 01:00:49 What? Oh, they taunt you now? Oh, the red wings. Dude. The red, maple leaves. Fuck. That was tough. That's tough.
Starting point is 01:01:05 Yeah. I'm not a hockey guy. That's why it falls on brand. No, no. I'm a black hawks, man. I can't say the red wings. Yeah. That's my hated rival that goes back weeks. Why is, why is hockey happening tonight?
Starting point is 01:01:17 It's such a good question. It's too soon. It's way too soon. Has it ever been this early? Usually it starts in the middle of October. They have to start today because every team has two extra games. Last year, they shut the season down for a whole fucking month. I know, Brandon. It's pretty crazy. We have to start now for two extra games. They shut it. They shut it down in February. the last two seasons, and now all of a sudden we're expanding the season for two games? I don't got the words for you. I mean, I'm glad it's back. And we're going up against each other tonight. I hate you.
Starting point is 01:01:53 Yeah. I don't like you either. You're not watching that game. I'm watching too late for you. I'm taking it now. I got to see if Jeff D. Lo was like on the Jumbo Tron. Like, get on your feet! Dude, it's not, it's not Hispanic Heritage Night. No, Joptoe L. Is it Septobal Center or Cetoboval Arena?
Starting point is 01:02:11 Is that or? Have you all seen, have y'all seen Jeffrey Lowe's soft launch in his pool as his, uh, as his place for. Yeah. What? And I maintain it's an above ground pool. He, he, have you talked to him about? Yes. I called him the other night. I said, why are you doing your, your post game videos?
Starting point is 01:02:27 Because he did the Penn State one where he was sad. Yeah. You can't be sad in an above ground pool. I think he's, he probably, he says that's. Why? Why is he taken to doing all his videos in the pool? He jumped in it last What did he jump in it for last year?
Starting point is 01:02:46 It was Was it Guardians? Was this the same pool? He jumped in the pool last year to celebrate something. I can't remember what it was. He was like, got to jump in the pool. It had to be a Browns play.
Starting point is 01:02:59 I'll text him in it. So the guardians are waiting to play somebody, right? Yeah. But when they lose, we could get a sad Guardians post in the pool. Mark, you think that's You think that's in the ground or is it? That looks above ground. It looks above ground, right?
Starting point is 01:03:13 Yeah, that does look above ground. He swears it's not above ground. But I want... Has he posted proof that it's not above ground? No. When he jumped in there. What? Was there not an alternate?
Starting point is 01:03:22 Yeah, that's, that's in any ground. Oh, damn it. I wanted to be above ground. I'm in my 3D printed pool while I'm texting on my keyboard phone. You got that from Kickstarter. I mean, my pool of sushi. I love him. He's going to be on the Jumbotron.
Starting point is 01:03:39 doing penalty killed. He took the penalty No, he's not. Out of his back. Yeah. Are you going to be on the jumbo tron doing it? My penalty killed one wasn't good. I was like pointing at it.
Starting point is 01:03:50 Like I didn't know what to do. I should have done more. What's the story going into this hockey season? The trucks together? The chucks together is cool. They're both in Florida now? Panthers are a wagon. The Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets made a blockbuster trade yesterday.
Starting point is 01:04:05 I kind of wow to do that. Matthew, no. Oh, your Blue Jackets. Your Blue Jackets. You're Blue Jackets. I think. CBJ did well on this straight. CBJ on the come up.
Starting point is 01:04:11 On the come up. So they sign. I'm outside. Is he talking to us? Oh, this is it. Yeah. I am. We're going to jump in the pool.
Starting point is 01:04:19 But it's fucking greatest comeback ever. One of the greatest shots ever. Back to the fucking final four. Oh, Yukon. This is Yukon. Yeah. Got to jump in the pool. That's a family sure.
Starting point is 01:04:28 The only thing I can do is jump in the pool. I have to. Wait a sit. So he'll cheer for him. So he just had to show. off he had a waterproof phone. Yeah. Well, you have waterproof phone.
Starting point is 01:04:43 Do I? All new iPhones are like water resistant up to like eight feet or something. I will never believe my phone is waterproof ever. Ain't no chance. Never. Not mine. Strong agree.
Starting point is 01:04:53 I will never, I will, yeah. I still got a 13. Can I... I bit mine the other day. Not to steal something from Jeffty Lowe, but he kicked off the love his blind group chat, the Varsal of his blind group chat guys.
Starting point is 01:05:04 It's in Boston this year, and he posed a question, which one of these guys is most likely a stoolie? Do we want to play which one most likely watches mostly sports? What? What was any of that sentence? Love is Blind. Sure.
Starting point is 01:05:16 Popular show on Netflix. Okay. Boston this year. There's a lot of dudes on the show. We're trying to figure out who is most likely a fan of this show. So we're picking out a family member here. Yeah. Who most likely watches the show.
Starting point is 01:05:27 Okay. All right. All right. I can do that. Let me just, I got a couple I can go ahead and rule out. Probably Scott. Yeah. Well, I was going to say, Stu.
Starting point is 01:05:38 Love stew All right hold on Hold on Hold on hold on Hold on Hold on All right Look at this
Starting point is 01:05:45 And everyone Everybody come up With their number one Draft pick Who could watch this show I got mine too You want to say it On three
Starting point is 01:05:54 I'm gonna go I just I get first round pick Give me Cam Good pick Give me Cam Yeah I was gonna say Michael
Starting point is 01:06:04 All right Connor Where's your pick Is it I man Give me give me Wilson I think it's Mori I think it's Mori
Starting point is 01:06:17 I think it's Rob I got my number one pick Nobody's picking Scott Stoo Scott Stoo? It could be Scott Stoo Genuinely Boring people give me the ick Scott Stude Well said
Starting point is 01:06:30 All right wait Hold on now It's not fair to us That there's sentences there at the bottom Yacht captain All right go go I want to go through Blake Just get me all the way in there We've got to go through one by one
Starting point is 01:06:41 The most important thing is having good banter, a yacht captain. That's a strong candidate. Yeah. That's a strong candidate. My fear is marrying the wrong person and 29 HR Generals. Coming on a show, we're all married someone I haven't seen before. HR generalist means he works in HR. So he's bored all day.
Starting point is 01:07:01 Yeah. He could be watching the show. Yeah, yeah. All right. I put others needs before my own software engineer. That doesn't make sense when his name's I man. I'm very competitive. I hate to lose.
Starting point is 01:07:14 Director of Sales. All right. I think I have a lot to get. That's just a terrible. That's the best. That's why Michael. Michael feels like it's our speech. That's a,
Starting point is 01:07:22 he's an account executive and hasn't gone to Turkey. I think I have a lot to give. It's hilarious. Wait, wait a second. Matt's a beekeeper. A 37-year-old beekeeper. With a bolot tie. My son is the greatest thing in my life.
Starting point is 01:07:35 That's nice. Most romantic thing I've ever done is take someone to Paris. and I'm a wine sales consultant. They choose these top phrases. That seems like a lot better than I think I have a lot. I think I have a lot to give is so funny. I think I wouldn't be able to sacrifice for love is my dog. Says John and a county executive.
Starting point is 01:07:54 All right. I was top five big spoons in the state. Mori watches the show. Yeah. More is the answer. More is the answer. I would never be able to sacrifice my relationship with my mother. Who would ask you to?
Starting point is 01:08:09 And then AIA Rob. All right. My biggest fear is someone falling in love with the idea of me. That's your biggest fear.
Starting point is 01:08:17 Your biggest fear. Retired pro baseball player. He looks like a long loss to Chuck brother. Do we know that? Do we know who Scott is? Did he make it to the Biggs? Run us tapes. He's a banana.
Starting point is 01:08:28 All right. Generally boring people give me the ick. Director of engineering. I don't really know what the ick is. All I know is a man saying something gives him the ick. Gives you the ick. I'm going to be very. very vulnerable, says Wilson.
Starting point is 01:08:41 That's not. I'm very committed to the people I love in my life. All right. All right, Tucker. I mean, that's... Yeah, sure. I think we all are. That doesn't really tell us much about you, but...
Starting point is 01:08:51 So, what do you think, Mory? I think Mory. I think Mory. Yeah, if you're Mory type one in chat right now. Yeah. Yeah, he's the most likely to be watching this show, for sure. So the concept there was Jeff Dillow had gone through that and picked out which ones might be Stooley. So he started as a discussion in the Love is Blind group chat.
Starting point is 01:09:07 We have a couple guys that we'll watch it here. and we talk about the show. How many people are in the Love is Blind Group chat? Like 10? Me, Dana Lucas, Jeffty Lowe, KB. KB really saved that one. Yeah, Lucas. Danny Conrad.
Starting point is 01:09:25 Yeah. Yeah. So we got a good squad. The U.S. Senate voted 77 to 22 to pass the Protect College Sports Act, Brandon. I think that's good for me. Yeah. So college sports are going to be protected. Nothing, it's less to go to the house, I believe, for it to become a law.
Starting point is 01:09:47 I don't know the finer points of this thing, but it is some semblance of a structure of college sports. There's a cap. Yeah, yeah. There's certain regulations. Any attempt at putting regulations and caps anywhere in this, while, you know, free market doesn't really support caps and stuff like this. college sports desperately needs it. Right. So,
Starting point is 01:10:12 so yeah. Does it, does it, does it have anything to transfer wise? Is there any, I don't think, which there's transfer wise. Because I was thinking about this, like, as far as like the legislation with this stuff goes, I think a lot of the players would love some sort of structure. I think that's the point that's, like, missed with it when people say, like,
Starting point is 01:10:30 give the players all the freedom. I think players and players families would love strike. They actually want, they actually want the strike. Like, I think player, every player would love to be able to sign like a three-year contract or, like, Like a two, you know, to have the freedom to know that, like, you're not going to get booted after one year. Everyone focuses on the star player. The star player five star, your, your Camario Taylor.
Starting point is 01:10:48 Yeah. Yeah, sure, he loves free. Like, he loves being able to bounce around from year to year. But, uh, he's not going to. I would think that, like, 85% of football and basketball players would prefer to sign multi-year contracts. And the way I would prove that is that, like, the NFL players do it. Well, uh, also it protects the players, Mark. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:11:10 The players want protection. You don't have any players enter the portal and then have nowhere to go? Well, here's the problem with the portal and what people's perception of the portal. They see a guy getting the transfer portal and go somewhere else and they're thinking, fuck that guy. No loyalty anymore. There's a whole lot of college football players that are told to get in the portal by their team. They reshuffle the deck chairs. There's a whole lot of football players that are told you don't have a spot next year.
Starting point is 01:11:34 And that's the unfortunate reality. We act like it's all players. It's probably 50% players. wanting to move on. 50% teams wanting to create a spot for the new transfer to come in. So this would be good for everybody. I don't know the finer points of this act. We need to get Dellinger or something because Dellinger knows it.
Starting point is 01:11:49 My brain just glosses are. I can't do law stuff anymore in sports. I was like very into it when the college basketball FBI thing happened. And I was like, oh, this is awesome. Or the EA sports because we're going to get money? Yeah, EA sports. I was going to get paid for that. But I'm at a point now where I'm like, I can't.
Starting point is 01:12:07 I'm not going to sit down and read fucking. bills. No. No. Not going to do it. But I am pro. I am pro some structure, Brandon. I am pro.
Starting point is 01:12:16 And that doesn't make me anti-player. It actually makes you, I think the players want this. I think the players, but I still think they need to, like, figure out a way for the players to, like, collectively bargain or something like that. But, yeah, I think every high school senior that's going into college would very much be for signing, like, a multi-year deal of some sort of life. So you're giving up bills? Yeah. Yeah. You're like Cody
Starting point is 01:12:39 Oh god damn it Go on Brandon Shut up Connor Okay Soccer fans in the room Any soccer fans? Raise your hand Brighton Hill of Albion
Starting point is 01:12:55 What'd you say? Come on you goals We're rolling in the Premier League Yeah rolling Well I'm here to talk about the UAFA Champions League The UAFA Champions League is back the world crowned its winner now the champions play

Starting point is 01:13:57 Messy was on PSG for a moment. He leaves. Boppy. Makes you think. Aaron Judge is not on the Yankees roster, by the way. Stanton is. They cut him? I believe you guys moved on from Aaron Judge.
Starting point is 01:14:15 They defayed. They defayed. Can he sign him with the Red Sox? I think so. I think he's probably going to. What else do we have from NBA Media Days? What I saw was LeBron James. We didn't talk about it on this show.
Starting point is 01:14:28 We talked about it on the yak, but the Brad Stevens shot out. Oh, yeah. We saw the clip. It was more than just a shout-out. And it was a full-on conversation. That's right. We talked about it. yesterday because someone in the chat said he just brought it up and then we never did get to the video.
Starting point is 01:14:39 I didn't think the video was real. It was real, Brandon. Let's play the video because the mostly, now, 99.9% of the people that watch this show probably watch the act. But there might be a couple that didn't. Yeah. So, so let's, we got to watch that. Which is, sounds crazy. I coached a third grade team in Indiana when I was in college.
Starting point is 01:15:01 That was Mike's class and some of his best buddies still to this day. I don't remember if I saw Mike play at that age. But Mike was at Lawrence North all the way through middle school and high school, which was right down the road from us at Butler. So Mike, I definitely saw Mike in the early 2000s. I might have seen him in the 90s. We're going to go with that and we're going to say that you did see him in the 90s. Much of this team wasn't even alive in the 90s.
Starting point is 01:15:27 Most of it, I would have venture. And then, of course, you did have Mark Titus on your team, right, in third grade. Mark's so excited that we're talking about this, I'm sure. He's clipping it right now. That's right. I'm a big fan of Mark Titus. Do you think that he could lock up Mike Conley in third grade? Was that the matchup for you?
Starting point is 01:15:47 I'm sure, it's been great to see Mark have success and from an author to a podcaster to, but he wasn't lying. But he could really shoot it. He could. He was from a basketball family. played at Brownsburg High School. I think he was a senior, maybe when Gordon was a freshman. And a national runner-up at Ohio State as a Buckeye. And he carried it, and Greg and Mike got to go for long for Mark's ride.
Starting point is 01:16:21 Yes. We're joking yesterday on the show that he would be talking about his third coach for the third grade team. That's exactly what he talked about. That's exactly what he brought in the context. Shout out Drew Carter, by the way. That's what the guy. the guy on the right that brought it up that he knew all my lore jim nance award winner true carter
Starting point is 01:16:39 is that right big time true carter sounded like he was family yeah oh yeah he was he was been in the studio he's dropping mr rainmaker reference he's been in this studio true carter's been has he been on the show is he is he in the room right now no no i don't know i don't think he was on the show i was saying in one of your seats why playing the old college football game okay that you end up playing a bunch and He had walked in with Jake Marsh. Oh, no kidding? Yeah. How about that?
Starting point is 01:17:07 It's a wild. Yeah, it's been great to see Mark have success from author to podcaster to... To, uh... That's cool. It's cool. I love Brad. I love the Celtic. So you weren't locking down Mike Connolly in third grade?
Starting point is 01:17:20 Um... No, I probably was. Mike was, as it turns out, very good. Does anybody lock anybody down in third grade? Mike, yeah, no one plays defense. Third grade, Mike Connolly was. I mean, this probably won't surprise you. Very good at basketball.
Starting point is 01:17:32 He was very, very, very good. When do you... And I'm going to say this. Mike Conley does not belong on the washed edit. Mike Conley, now, I will say 45 is doing... He's in his 20th year, Mark. 45 is doing him no favors, Brandon. I have a problem with that.
Starting point is 01:17:45 I wish Mike would have, like, hey, Mark, I'm going to wear a 45. What do you think about that? I would have said, that is going to be disgusting on you. Donovan Mitchell pulls it off, though. Yeah. But something about it on a guy of Mike's size. It just looks...
Starting point is 01:18:00 It screams like you saw. and this was the only number we had available for you. But Media Day gave us the washed edit, and Mike Conley is on it. Yeah. I think the Celtics, yeah, here's the washed edit. Played Thompson, tough. That, well, I don't understand that one.
Starting point is 01:18:18 Isn't that? Bamanianas, though. Dragon Ball? No, I'm saying, why are Bamb and Janus on a washed edit? What? Is this, does this happen every year? Yeah. Oh.
Starting point is 01:18:32 Oh, actually. Oh I don't think I understand Okay It's just It's just all the old players Yeah I don't understand Okay so it's not as bad as I thought
Starting point is 01:18:43 But I would say LeBron LeBron's not washed Yeah LeBron's still a top 35 player This was what I saw Yeah That he did the pose Oh
Starting point is 01:18:51 This is the pose you do When you're washed Oh no Oh no Yeah That's what the But is there no evidence He's done
Starting point is 01:18:57 He's probably done that Every year in his career Yeah Okay Yeah what The question That Tyler Rho got asked.
Starting point is 01:19:04 Tyler who? Hero, I don't know. Do you see that question? No, what did you get asked? It was a one of those, it was a pull your credentials, credentials type question.
Starting point is 01:19:18 Did you say question? Yeah. And here it is. She abbreviated it. You were in a promotional campaign for Marvel Studios a few years ago, right? And as everybody knows, you know, Avengers Dooms Day
Starting point is 01:19:30 is about to drive in December. My question to you, do you believe that the Avengers are cooked or are they going to win this, you know, this year or whatever with Avengers Doom's Day? And if so, how? What movie? Avengers Dooms Day? Okay. What's the two options? Will they win?
Starting point is 01:19:51 Are they cooked? Will they lose? They're going to win. Good answer. Good answer. Can I? Is that... I'll defend the guy who asked it.
Starting point is 01:20:08 I don't think that's any less ridiculous than Brad Stevens having to talk about me on Media Day. But that was... They were doing a talking head thing on the studio where they're going back and forth. This guy stood up, raised his hand, and said, I got to ask about the Avengers. What movie?
Starting point is 01:20:25 We have totally lost the plot when it comes to reporters and press conferences. Isn't this what many days for, though? I'm confused about the point. of Media Day. So considering it was Media Day, it's a little bit better. However, that type of question, I think, would be more reserved for an individual one-on-one, like, fun little social video or something.
Starting point is 01:20:48 Oh, hang on. Press conferences for asking, like, questions about the team and the sport. Do we? If memory serves. Yeah. I'm going to use the 20. We had one 20 left. Technical foul.
Starting point is 01:20:58 If memory serves, not too long ago, you went to a media day and you were on some fuck shit. You asked. You put your silly pants on and went to Media Day. You sure did, Connor. And I waited for everybody else to wrap up with the request. I waited for Shiano for 25 minutes. Nice.
Starting point is 01:21:16 Until it was just me and like a student reporter. That was a waste of time. Yeah. I waited for everybody to get their hard. That was stupid. I waited for everybody to get their hard hitting questions out of the way to where it was essentially like a one-on-one, which is me and coach or me and the player. that had to be so deflating for that guy because he thought he had like a banger question
Starting point is 01:21:37 and hero's eyes were going to light up and he was going to give him like a long answer and he was like, what's the movie? He really thought he's going to just like dive into the finer points of the Avengers that and the King's thing. I have no idea what you were talking about. By the way, dad sent me a,
Starting point is 01:21:51 dad sent me the picture last night of me and Brad I sent it to you guys, I think. You're going to show the people. I got the picture, the third grade picture. Really? Me and Brad Steven. me being coached by Brad Stevens. I think I've shown it on here before, but...
Starting point is 01:22:07 Who's the same? Yeah. I think I might have gotten ball sacked by Tyler Harrow. I don't know if he has tattoos of his jerseys on his, like, sternum, like, across his stomach. What are you saying? You don't know if his tattoos of his jersey... Yeah. He's got his actual...
Starting point is 01:22:24 Okay, I'm catching up to him. I saw a picture yesterday online of Tyler Harrow, yeah, where he just had, like, his high school jersey tattooed on his stomach. So you don't know if you got ball sack by Tyler Hero. There you go. There are the boys. They're the boys. That's the squad right there.
Starting point is 01:22:41 Municipal Gardens. I'll be damn. You in the far right? Yeah, that's me. Yeah. And that's Brad Stevens on the far, on the top left. Four's glow up. What money really changed to him.
Starting point is 01:22:57 Yeah, yeah. There we are back in the day. All right. There it is Blutman. Great here. It's pretty cool. Pretty cool. Can someone fill me in on this Man City thing?
Starting point is 01:23:09 What's going on? Are you familiar with this Man City thing? No. They're like super cheating. They were like super cheating for a decade. Oh, the like oil money or whatever? Yeah. They just got caught like super cheating.
Starting point is 01:23:19 Really? They're on some Dodgers shit? Yeah. Way worse. Way worse. Every pro team's cheating, right? Are we finding that out? I think Man City was cheating at a level that we did.
Starting point is 01:23:29 In what way? How were they cheating? Like to the point where they would go into the, their accounting software and changed numbers. Oh, they were cooking the books. They were limiting crimes. Muresh and Zah said it was to the point of like being
Starting point is 01:23:42 so extreme that they should be relegated all the way down to the bottom bottom. But what uh, help me understand how it's cheating and how it's like how does it that's what I'm trying to, because they don't have like a salary cap. But there are spending limitations
Starting point is 01:23:59 apparently? Are there? I didn't know that. That's what I'm trying to read up Fabrizio Romano tweeted out. It's like a, it's basically an article. So I'm trying to catch you up. I could go find Moresh or something. Get Moresh. Go get Moresh. Go to Marech. Go to Marech's house. But, you know, for a million years, Man United was way better than Man City. Man City was a joke. I feel like Man United was a team of the 90s. Is that correct? When I was growing up, I felt like like May. 2000. Yeah, like they had a Sir Alex Ferguson area. They were dominated.
Starting point is 01:24:31 Dominating everybody. And Man City was like the joke. Man City was the Angels, we'll say. And Man United was the Dodgers. Ah. But then it like flipped ran it. So it was Mike Trout. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:44 Good question. Yeah, that's a great question. But then it just suddenly flipped. Sure. And the oil money came in. The Saudis, the whoever. Like Saudis? Bought Man City and then they had a fuck ton of money.
Starting point is 01:24:59 And then they became dominant. Ebo, I like Saudis. Nice. very tolerant of you. The Newcastle, I believe, is the New Man City, right? Is that right? They have some oil money, I believe. Is that right?
Starting point is 01:25:11 Yeah. I mean, it doesn't matter. I mean, the Seagulls are an unstoppable force. I mean, three nothing over our small. What are you doing? Yeah, we had. What do you mean? What am I doing?
Starting point is 01:25:20 Yeah. What are we doing? We're just on the podcast. We talked about on the show. We picked our Premier League team and it's Brightonhoe Valby. Yeah. On the Panthers podcast? Yes, dude.
Starting point is 01:25:32 Yes. by the way we may have to call it emergency podcast oh no what I'm a NMC South High Council
Starting point is 01:25:42 I think we need a high council Yeah You want to get them all together I believe I'm gonna get all the guys together We got to sit down and fix this To Bob? Yeah Teabob and Che
Starting point is 01:25:50 Yeah Big Tea Big T Yeah That's like the Avengers Come together Yeah Tyler Hero's gonna love this episode
Starting point is 01:25:58 What a collection of human beings Do they win Or are they fucking They're gonna die Are they cooked? Are they cooked? Are the Avengers cooked? No, they're
Starting point is 01:26:07 My question, Tyler, are the Avengers cooked? You think they're going to win? Yeah, he asked, Are the Avengers going to win in the Avengers movie? Can you imagine? You got to think, probably. They lost in Infinity War.
Starting point is 01:26:18 Yeah, but you never know? Well, they lost the, that was the first, that was part one. Right. Everyone's always set up to come back. It would kill me if they did end game two. You're not Moresh?
Starting point is 01:26:29 Yeah, I'm not Muresh, but we got Zah. Zah. Quickly. We need to know about something. Take a seat on the couch there. And tell us about Man City. Give us like a two-minute recap. Or, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:42 What's Man City doing? There is actually some huge breaking news broke probably in the last, I'd say, 30 minutes or so. They're in big trouble. So pretty much the SparkNotes version is they misrepresented roughly close to a billion pounds worth of sponsorship money to the Premier League. Oh, my God. So, and they've just been, they've just been busted. Oh, my God. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:07 How did they say that? It was through, so they were using, like, their, their Abu Dhabi companies and financing, like, their sponsor. So the sponsor would pay, like, a base amount, and then the Abu Dhabi company would come in and supplement the sponsorship money. They would report that as the sponsor paying the whole amount. So does this concern the competitive balance of the Premier League, or does this concern the, like, authorities, of England. And is this like a criminal case or is this like a cheating situation? So that's what's still developing.
Starting point is 01:27:40 That's what's still developing. It's as of right now, it's a Premier League issue. But then when you start misrepresenting like revenue and stuff like that, I don't know how England works in there. Some sort of fraud going on. I don't know how that works, but that could be a tax issue on the financial statement and all that. So it's crazy, man. So the idea is like they're going to be punished by the Premier League.
Starting point is 01:27:58 Like the, whatever fraud and the authorities, that's over here. But as far as like the actual soccer is concerned, there's a chance that they get like relegated. They get like, they get like with all their best players they have to sell or something? So everything you're hearing right now in terms of punishments is all speculation. So I've been running around calling for relegation to like Nunn League and all that. It's all speculation. The Premier League hasn't said anything on the punitive side. But it's crazy.
Starting point is 01:28:26 It's anything that they do, I feel like it's not even appropriate. It's, this is, this has been going on for almost 20 years now. This is crazy. Yeah. Yeah. It's nuts. What does Rebecca Lowe have to say about? Actually, I have no plates.
Starting point is 01:28:41 Who's the voice we turn to in the soccer world? It is, it is. It is. It is. So right now, it's David. David Olenstein is the guy that broke it. He's with the New York Times, I believe. Who's the Brandon Walker of Premier League?
Starting point is 01:28:54 There's only one Brandon Walker. There's only one, the college football guy. But, yeah, no, that's my guy right there. But it's insane, man. It's, it's, I don't even know what's going on. Hmm. Fuck it. All right.
Starting point is 01:29:09 Well, thank you, Zah. Yeah, yeah, that was. Yeah, yeah. Thank you, Zahaw. A little helpful. Was Kays Keenum already on the Bears? Yeah. Was he?
Starting point is 01:29:16 I misspoke. Nobody, nobody, you are correct? I don't know. I signed with them in April 25. Oh. I wouldn't have any idea. I thought they signed him off the fucking street. When you said it, I was like, yeah, sure.
Starting point is 01:29:26 I got a nasty DM about it. You fucking idiot. He's been there two years. I would believe anything. Anything you told me about Case Keenham in the last five years, I believe. I have put Case Keenum entirely out of my brain. My bad on that. You could have snuck anything past me about Case Keenum.
Starting point is 01:29:38 I tried to. They said he was his first. Did they say it was his first game since the Minnesota miracle? No, Brown's 2023. New segment for Connor called Bar or Nah. Okay. I was trying to make it rhyme. It didn't work.
Starting point is 01:29:54 Bar or Nor. Bar or Australian, no. Bar or nah. It may not be a cowboy, but this ain't my first fucking rodeo, said Case Keenum. Oh, I like it. To the squad last night after the win. That's a bah. Baha or nah.
Starting point is 01:30:10 Yeah, like a Boston way of slinging it. Yeah. I thought that's a bar. I thought so, too. I thought that was pretty cool. All right, let's do the grid. I don't know if it's better than Gino Smith. They wrote me off, but I ain't right back, though. I don't know if it's better than that, but it's a good one.
Starting point is 01:30:24 You want to see I was? Yeah, I can go and down. later on my socials but this is kind of a okay okay so we're all right so oh blutman's a line yeah uh it's pretty self-explanatory yeah i i don't think we need to really i'll go into more detail later much to it yeah i think it's uh that kind of says it all really i hate i hate that show me another video i hate this guy so much I think he's hilarious Show me another one
Starting point is 01:31:00 Does he ever Does he ever laugh at it? Is he being funny? Is this dry humor? Is he supposed to be funny? Is he doing this for you know? I think it's a little like tongue and cheek
Starting point is 01:31:12 But also very serious Where he's like You should think about NBA teams as Shapes Yeah Different way to visualize Roster construction
Starting point is 01:31:20 All right We're doing the Wyman diagram For the Phoenix Suns If you haven't seen the series The idea is the shape of a player Is how easy they are To build around And the size of the size
Starting point is 01:31:28 the players how good they are. So start with Devin Booker. Devin Booker's a very good player. I think I'm a little higher on him than other people. I think he's a pretty darn good score. He's a pretty good playmaker, you know, poor defender, but he's definitely like a, I think a really good number two options. So I like Booker a lot. I think he's a good player. I think he's just kind of stuck on a not great team right now. But overall, good guy. After that, I think Colin Gillespie is their second best player. He's a good two-way guard. He's a solid defender. This is an offensive option. three-point shooter, good playmaker. I think he is a really easy player to build around the hexagon.
Starting point is 01:32:05 And I like him quite a bit. Is this supposed to be funny, Brandon? Bring up for a great. I can't. I can't with this guy. The crazy part is, Mark, I feel if like a real analytical guy, a real like a nerd stat guy did the concept,
Starting point is 01:32:23 he could make it. You could make it semi-interesting. You could make it semi-interesting and semi-good. Yeah. This is, what do you call it? Malarkey. Malarkey. This is a full-blown malarkey.
Starting point is 01:32:34 I would like to see it. Maybe try it with food. I would be interested in. I think you do try it with food. Yeah. Like literally the food plate. LeBron is mashed potatoes. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:45 And who's a grave? Somebody got to be the graves. All right. And did you comment on the USC radio footage or no? What are you? Oh, yeah, I saw that too. What U.S. You didn't see this clip?
Starting point is 01:32:59 the guy talking yeah watch this watch this he did not try to slide feet first and stevens went in helmet first but he kind of ran into dante more who ducked into that hit for him i did not see him put his feet out first i saw him dive forward but not he's laying feet first he was he is now because they spun him around no i want to see the replay here he goes down into it yeah not a feet first slide more of a knee slide it didn't look like targeting on the replay to us that one guy was trying I was absolutely what the hell is
Starting point is 01:33:35 college football homerism man it can make you see things that aren't even there yeah it's just it's I like it I like the homerism but I also it's frustrating when like I was at the wedding on Saturday as we're driving to the wedding
Starting point is 01:33:48 it was like three hours in the mountains of Colorado so I had a three hours drive brand and I was listening to a lot of these games on the radio and uh you can't really if I listen to that I would have been like what I was working got fucked or USC got fucked. This guy gets ejected on a...
Starting point is 01:34:03 That's one of the most obvious hits you'll ever see. Dante Moore wasn't even sliding, and it sounds like he was sliding head first. He brought this on himself. Yeah. There is a chance people without TVs in California are just pissed off. They're so mad. They're like, these refs fucked us.
Starting point is 01:34:19 What the hell, Dante Moore? What a pussy. Unbelievable. All right, Bull, I mean, you called your shot last time. I did. We're getting the grid today. These aren't typically our best teams This is so doable
Starting point is 01:34:33 Kawai is obvious top left Yeah Or isn't Chris Paul No it's Kawai It's Kuai, it's Hawaii, don't don't Tim Duncan Chris Paul top middle Chris Paul top middle
Starting point is 01:34:44 Kauai? That has to be Kawai Chris Duncan Well Chris Paul could also work With Warriors, no? Oh Oh, freeze it right there Freezer right there

Starting point is 01:35:11 Do. I don't. We've never been this good. Kareem? Kareem. Oh. Cream? Yes, please.
Starting point is 01:35:20 Kareem. I like it. Not Yon. No, Yon is probably. 10,000 is a lot. It's got to be Kareem. It's got to be. 10,000 is like a 50.
Starting point is 01:35:29 15 year thing. Is it Kareem or Lou Al-Sindor? It's Kareem. Okay. Do we go? Mel right. We go, go, Wilt? Green here?
Starting point is 01:35:39 I think we might, yeah. I think. Kareem, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, and the, holy shit. I think so. It has to be Wilt. That's the, that's the highest percentage I think we've ever seen.
Starting point is 01:35:50 By far. I think it has to be Wilt. I think it has to be Wilt. Wilt. Wilt for Warriors, 10,000 rebounds. Wilt Chamberlain. I got middle Oh wow
Starting point is 01:36:03 We're fucking You are hot I got middle middle Drew Holiday Oh yeah Yeah All right Evo That's a guaranteed

Starting point is 01:36:44 No, Chexed me a Clipper Buck. No, Chee. We go. You want to go ready? Jay Reddick is my leader. Right now. We can beat it, though. We can go.
Starting point is 01:36:57 Clippers Warriors. We might get double-palled. Who's made that track? We might get double-palled. Baron Davis Clippers Warriors. That's good Do the kids know them? Do the kids know them?
Starting point is 01:37:08 We're getting double-palled. No. Jake? We're getting DuPauled? We might be getting double-palled. We might be getting double-palled. Zubach, he ever played for the box? Grayson Allen?
Starting point is 01:37:26 Oh, did he ever play for the clips? I keep coming. So Baron-Dadus? Or bottom left, yeah. Middle left, J.J. Reddick is not. I feel like there's a better one. out there, but also, Redick is on people's minds, right?
Starting point is 01:37:40 Andre Jordan hasn't made it to the Warriors, has he? Uh, okay. Okay. Is Norman Powell ever a buck? Clippers. All right, which one do you all want to put our minds on? Let's go bucks clippers. Okay, bucks clippers.
Starting point is 01:38:00 Zach Randolph was a clipper. Lamar Odom was a clipper. Blake Griffin was a clipper. Steve Francis, I believe, played for the clippers. Steve Blake's. Lake. Cotino Mowgli, did he play for the Clippers? Yeah, he was a clip.
Starting point is 01:38:14 Sean Lippins. Brooke Lopez never played for the Clippers. Sean Livingston, bottom left. DJ Augustine. Did he play for the Clippers? Yeah, Sean Limison played for the Clippers, I think. Bones Highland. I don't mind J.J. I don't mind.
Starting point is 01:38:31 Bismack, Biombo. Who was Bones Highland making fun of you at Rudy Gobert? Did Sam Caseland? play for the bucks? No, they never know Sam. Did Sam Cassell play for the box? He played from Minnesota for sure, but did he make his way to the bucks? I don't think.
Starting point is 01:38:47 I don't know that. TJ's trying to give me a hit. Is it John Rom? T.J. John Rom? Bucks. Is it Braun? I don't mind.
Starting point is 01:38:57 I think if we can't get anything better, I don't think J.J. Barron is that bad. You have your phone and Che if you want to. We're not phone and Jay. Get that out of your brain. All right. I would sign off for Baron Davis. Baron Davis, bottom left. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:13 Is there a recent guy? Is there, is there. There is. Is there, there's, there's, there's, oh, that's going to be a recent guy. That's going to be. Yeah, it's going to be Chris Paul, isn't it? Fuck. Could we have, hmm.
Starting point is 01:39:32 Doesn't matter what we could have done. We can't go back. Yeah, okay, Baron Davis, Baron Davis is our best. I think Baron Davis is going to be 9%. I think it's 13. we got double paul we got double paul we got double paul we had it we were just do do redic god damn it we got double paul david west maybe we're not gonna was spur and uh pelican maybe am i thinking that right no it's gonna be double paul it just is
