Farm, stool, sports.
Tidy, Brandon Walker, Mostly Sports.
Welcome to Mostly Sports, presented by Modelo.
I'm Mark Titus.
He's Brandon Walker.
Today is apparently Jersey.
It's, it's Thursday, September 14th, I believe.
Mark, Camario has changed everything.
Oh, oh, okay.
Changed everything about.
Oh, okay.
So Camaro.
Camaro, this is number one.
Oh, so I guess next year when Camaro Taylor is playing for the Buckeyes,
I can just wear a jersey whenever I want.
Is that what you're saying?
It is Monday, September 14th.
We are live from Chicago.
We were brought to you by Modello.
Hell of a football player, by the way.
That fella you got.
Hell of a football player.
Hey, buddy.
We were brought to by Modela.
College football season of a Modelo season.
Saturdays are for the gridiron and servaises, the fight songs,
the fanquakes, the rivalry trophies are all better with an ice-cold Modelo in your hand.
It's not just game day.
tradition and those who keep college football traditions alive deserve a Modello.
Modelo is the official beer sponsor of the college football playoff.
Drink responsibly, Modello, a special beer imported by Crown Imports, Chicago, Illinois.
Stock up now. Brandon, what do you want to talk about?
Quiet, quiet. Football.
Yeah.
Still hit. Come on.
Clap it like a seal.
We're so fucking back.
Holy shit.
Yeah.
And yet.
Yes.
And yet.
May I ask one question?
And yet, why is it not?
Yeah, why am I a sad boy over here, Brandon?
Do you?
And yet.
This was awful fucking funny to you for a long time.
Uh-huh.
This was you and Tate and everybody.
This was pretty fucking funny, wasn't it?
Yeah.
And now the shoes on the other rabbit's gun.
That's right.
The shoe.
The rabbit has the other shoe.
The rabbit has the other shoe.
Give me that fucking shoe.
The rabbit has the gun on the other shoe now.
That's right.
So, Mark, I have been there with a three touchdown lead over Texas in the fourth quarter.
Kind of sucks.
Yeah.
It's different.
It was on the road for you.
The whole fourth quarter, it's easy to say now.
It was a slow motion car crash, Brandon.
It was like a series of like Texas scores quickly in the fourth quarter because it wasn't.
you know, like they were on the doorstep.
Makes it 23 to 10.
Yeah, but they score and I was like, oh, this one's not over.
That's all I said.
This one might not be over is what I said.
Yeah.
And then I think we go three and out or something like, like we get the ball right back.
And I was like, oh, so this one might not be over yet.
Yeah.
And then they score again.
I'm like, we could have a game.
Holy shit, this needs to end.
And then we punt the ball to them again.
I'm like, oh, we might have a game.
And I just kept like slowly.
So you did that seven times?
I just kept slowly like chipping away.
We was like, oh, now we do have a game.
Oh, shit.
we could lose.
Oh shit.
We're going to lose.
Oh shit.
It was just like a series of that over and over and over.
So your night was nine oh shits in a row.
Yeah.
It was like a, yeah, I went from like laying down to like, oh.
Yeah.
Oh.
Huh.
Right.
And then just slow.
Yeah.
A slow progression that I wish would have been more of a shock than it is.
And I guess we could talk about, we could, we can move to that.
Does Ryan Day have the right?
relationship with his his fan base and his team.
He's got to.
Because he won a national title.
He won it while losing to Michigan, but he won the national title.
And then still in close games or big games, you still have that moment or you're still
as an Ohio State fan saying, well, we're better than they are.
But, yeah, like I'm not, I'm not going to pretend like I saw that coming that we'd be up by 20
and choke the leadway in the fourth.
But at the same time, you're like, I can't pretend I haven't seen something similar before.
I don't know.
As far as Ohio State fans go,
I am among the top probably 1% of Ryan Day fans, I will say.
I think I learned that coming out of this Texas game, Brandon,
because he's not perfect,
and I do wish that we wouldn't take our foot off the gas
and all that sort of thing.
But Ohio State fans have a problem of comparing Ryan Day to his predecessors.
They have a problem of being like Urban would have stepped on their fucking throat.
Urban at halftime wouldn't have been.
Urban also, like we got Maryland coming up.
Urban might lose to Maryland by 28, just out of nowhere.
You know, like urban.
And what's fascinating to me is that as much as we want to shit on Ryan Day,
you do kind of look at all the losses and they follow a pattern, sure,
and there is like a lot of passive energy coming from the sideline
and like conservative play calling and yada yada.
Basically every loss, if you exclude Michigan cheating and the Missouri Cotton Bowl
when we rested our entire team and just didn't give a fuck about the game
and just punt it on the game.
basically every Ryan Day loss is to like in a very very very elite team by like one possession which is fine because that's who you're competing with if you're Ohio State you are a very elite team and that's who you would be competing with for titles I just it's the lack of killer instinct sure remember remember the loss of Georgia on the New Year's Eve when they got to like the 35 yard line he's like that's close enough we'll settle for this field goal and then like you know everywhere everywhere along the line when he's had these close losses at some point he's had a choice in the game to really go for it.
and really really hang his nuts out, and he never does it.
And now, can I make a counterpoint on Saturday night?
Because you guys blew a 23-3 lead fair.
It was a little fluky that it was 23-3 in the first place.
That's right, yeah.
I feel like...
The first two possessions were insane.
Texas, like, really shot themselves in the foot hardcore early,
and it took them three quarters to shake that shit off and finally get it going.
Kim Coleman was wide open.
He was wide open.
Like a slightly better pass, he walks into the ends over...
But even 99% of the time, even if it's a bad pass, it's just incomplete.
Yeah.
Yeah. The fact that we turn that into an interception is crazy.
No, I'm with you on Ryan Day, but I honestly, as I was watching it all unfold,
my frustration was with the players more than right.
And that's not true of everyone.
Like the Georgia one you bring up, I was definitely like, what are we doing?
We're not close enough.
We've got to keep going.
But yeah, I mean, Jeremiah Smith was dropping some passes, Brandon.
Julian's saying just like completely turtles in these big moments.
The defense completely disappeared.
I mean, Texas had how many fourth downs where it's like,
literally all we need is just this one stop right here and it's the same over.
and it's too big of a they had uh the first one was like fourth and
long i know the second one was like fourth and six but i think the first one is like fourth and
tenish maybe even more of that fourth and twelve i don't remember now um and they're on their
like own 30 yard line well shout out to arch we're making these throws yeah yeah great plays but
it's like as i watch that i'm like oh it was the one and then he's scrambling and he throws it
across his body dude catches it and picks up like the first down by like a half yard you know
that that play you make that play the game's over so uh yeah it's easy to kill ryan day
but I don't know.
I think having the benefit,
and I probably would have
have we done a show that night,
I probably would have,
but having the benefit of doing this show
36 hours later,
I do kind of take a deep breath
and think how privileged,
how lucky can you be to be like,
why is it that when we play the best teams in the country,
we always find a way to lose by one or two.
Yeah.
You know?
Oh, we lost a road game at Texas.
Yeah.
But at the same time,
it was a complete fucking choke.
And I did,
I did like not sleep well Saturday.
Well,
with Ryan Day, the follow-up matters a lot. The follow-up to Michigan a couple years ago was winning every playoff game about double digits. Right. And now the follow-up, this was a unique spot for Ohio State and that after this game, the schedule is very, very tough. Now, it might be a little easier than we thought because it has at Indiana and then Oregon, Oregon was a big, and then at USC. So long as they go two and one in those games, they're going to be in the playoff, no problem. Even one and two might get you to playoff. But anyway, as long as they followed up, and he's never really had a problem following up.
the embarrassing stuff.
Right.
He's always been able to bounce back.
I do wonder, every single time since he became the quarterback, Ohio State's offense
takes a step back when it plays a very good defense.
Yes.
And that is not, that's not great.
And Julianne has been at his worst in the biggest games.
And you say, well, they're elite defenses.
Yeah, but you go to Ohio State to play these games.
Right.
You go sign to a team that has Jeremiah Smith and Bo Jackson and all these guys to play in these games.
and he's been at his worst during these moments,
and he was at his worst in the second half
when he already had a 23-3 lead,
and they're not going for the throat.
So there's issues there,
but I don't think there's two teams we're going to talk about,
actually three.
Oklahoma had a huge loss on Saturday.
Oregon had a huge loss on Saturday.
Ohio State had a huge loss on Saturday.
Of those three, I'm not even kind of worried about Ohio State.
Ohio State's national title odds got better, Brandon.
Yeah, yeah.
I don't think they were.
That's what's really weird about it.
I don't think they were hurt at all.
Yeah.
And what Texas did last year after losing this game was they went to Florida and lost a couple of weeks later.
I don't think Ohio State's going to do that.
Yeah.
Because they don't play Florida.
It's far more fun for me when this sort of thing happens to Duke basketball, I will say.
Because I had like the realization.
Now Ryan Day has won a national championship and John Shire's on.
So you root for Duke basketball of football?
Is that what you're?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
And Ryan Day has become like the John Shire.
We're like every Duke basketball loss, as a guy who covers the sport,
every Duke basketball loss becomes like
front page news becomes like we have to talk about
what's wrong with dude you know it becomes like a cataclysmic event
and I feel like Ohio State even though we've lost three of our last four games
it does feel like every single game is like holy shit yeah Ryan day is in over his head
yeah and then you look back he lost to the national champion by three now Miami did
Miami handled us I won't lie about that but I mean Miami is second best team in the country
now Texas maybe the best team in the country all that said um I kind of have like the
like the rational part of my brain
brand is like we're not going to win every game right like i know indiana made it look easy last
year but even indiana you know penn state they they one blade of grass indiana loses a game true these
are still young players you're going to lose games when ohio state because people want to rip on
ryan day billy he's not a good coach he just has the best players um and anybody could win with
those players but you're going to lose games at some point so if you're if you have to pick how
you lose those games what is an acceptable way what is an acceptable way for ryan day to lose
games where people are like actually you know what that happens to everybody you're going to drop
one or two because i do look back on those losses and you're like yes they're they choke yes he gets
passive yes he kind of has one of those faces when they cuts him on the sideline but like what
no mark it's other than other than winning literally every single game like i don't when you're
ohio state's common it's common thing that every time ohio state loses they're like Ryan day
did it again and and and that's just going to happen it's just going to flip it let's say uh ohio state
was down 23-3 start the fourth quarter on Saturday.
They come all the way back, and I know the math doesn't add up,
but it's 23-22, and they end up losing by a point.
The conversation is, well, why didn't have them ready to play?
Right.
So it doesn't really.
But if you're Ohio State's coach, you know,
like if you're Boston College's coach, why are you losing nine games a year?
If you're Ohio State's coach, just why are you losing one game a year?
It's your fault.
Yeah.
Why did you literally lose that game?
But that's the realities of college football.
I'd much rather be in that situation than,
be like why are you losing seven at Syracuse?
Right.
I've been said that.
It was an absolute choke and we should not have lost that.
Complete choke.
But again, I feel like in the embarrassment, Ryan Day has shown he can put things together
in the past.
Yeah.
The Michigan loss being number one thing.
Which is why I'm not panicking.
I don't think you should panic.
And there's plenty of breathing room.
And like Oregon.
Oregon is one of the worst, hardest games on your schedule looks like it lightened up.
I want to talk about Oregon.
Please.
Because Ohio State loses to Texas.
one of those teams was going to lose that game.
Yeah.
That's just how it is.
When these two teams,
when these two top five teams play,
it's going to happen.
I think people in the chat,
people online,
people everywhere are expecting me to come in here
and follow my sword
and kneel before the football guides
and say,
oh my God, I'm so sorry.
I was such a fool for picking Oregon
to win the national championship.
You picked Oregon to win the national championship?
I picked Oregon to win the national championship.
To which I say,
I will gladly eat the crow and be a fool
if one person can step forward.
and say I didn't think Oregon was going to be any good this year.
One person said...
If one person in America...
Oregon's going to lose to Oklahoma State.
Yes.
You know what I mean?
If one person watched Tulsa beat Oklahoma State by two touchdowns and said,
Oregon's going to lose to this team, I will gladly fall on my sword.
What I picked coming in the season was a guy that was going to be the number one or two
pick last year.
He came back.
They have first round picks all over their defense.
They came back.
Oregon was loaded and their schedule was pretty easy.
If your response to Oregon,
losing is Brandon Walker's
a moron and not holy shit college football
is crazy. I don't know what to tell you.
I'll take it. I picked Penn State last year.
Awful pick in hindsight. Oregon's going to be an awful
pick in hindsight, but who the fuck saw it coming?
Also, I don't even know if it's an awful pick just yet.
It might not be an awful pit. Notre Dame
lost to Northern Illinois and then went to the national
championship game that year. So you never know.
Miami lost to SMU and Louisville last year.
Yeah. But anyway, it doesn't matter.
Oregon is absolutely
a shell of what we thought they were going to be.
So they, I don't know what it is.
I did, I was long on the take that Dante Moore was quite as good as people thought,
but Dante Moore has not been very good, but it's the defense.
The defense is so garbage.
Tulsa destroyed Oklahoma State at the line of scrimmage, destroyed them.
And still, Oklahoma State comes out, goes for, that game was 39, 31.
They out gained them 550 to like 250, 270.
They doubled them up in yards.
They kicked the shit out of them.
And they absolutely beat them.
to death. I think two pick sixes
for Oregon kept it close. But this is
what, so the theory I've got is
Nick Saban is the greatest
of all time because when Nick Saban
lost his coordinators, nothing
changed. Right. The new
coordinators came in and they had to
adapt to him. It was his imprint, his program,
his identity, his everything.
Dan Lanning is not Nick Saban. So when
Dan Lanning loses those two coordinators
that he lost, to head coaching jobs,
it completely changes everything
because he is not good enough to
imprint his will on this team and they take a giant step back.
Now, I will say everybody who's cashing in their organ stock and saying it's over,
might want to pump the brakes a little bit, but we'll see.
Well, talk to me about this because I think Blutman made this point.
I kind of feel this way about the Ohio State, Texas game that like it is devastating
and I forgot the feeling of like, by the way, I fucking hate night games.
Lock it in.
It's a fit.
Like, I despise night.
I'm 100% out on night games.
I'm 100% out on night games.
I wish Ohio State played every game at 8 a.m.
I want the first thing when I wake up to...
Because losing a game like that and then trying to go to bed,
worst thing in the world, especially for an old guy like me.
I wouldn't know.
My team's undefeated.
Like, if I was like 22, Connor, like you still think you are...
Yeah.
Yeah, that would be awesome.
Like, you can go out and party after the game.
This guy in this room?
As an old man, oh, my God, watching him lose
and then just having that pit in your stomach and trying to fall.
It sucks.
That fucking sucked.
Anyway, I...
I, as I'm falling,
my rational brain's taken over and I'm like,
we're fine.
Like this,
this game ultimately doesn't matter.
And I think that that kind of sucks,
Brandon.
It should matter.
Do you fit,
do you miss this?
Do you miss the idea that like,
I think people are waxing nostalgic for an era that didn't really exist.
Really?
You don't think there's an era where Oregon loses it.
Like,
we literally can cross Oregon off national title contention.
Mark,
the last time,
before Ryan Day,
the last time Ohio State won a national title,
how they start that season?
Losing your Virginia Tech.
Yeah.
Like,
there's an error before that.
And those eras sucked.
There was an era where Oregon and
Oklahoma State, they are out.
But Mark, those are 100% out.
That era sucked because we were letting,
we were letting voters who don't know what the fuck they're doing
we were sending number one and two
to the Orange Bowl and the Rose Bowl.
We weren't putting them together and we were just voting on the national...
That era sucked. People that are nostalgic for that era
are stupid because that fucking sucked.
And then you would end up with 11 and O like BYU
who played nobody and we're going to crown the national champion.
Yeah.
That era fucking sucked.
And I'm tired of people saying, well, they should matter.
How about a team gets it, like an Ohio state that goes on the road to Texas?
Yeah.
It goes on the road to a top five team doesn't get punished unnecessarily because they did something nobody else has the courage to do.
That being said, with Oregon, it's worse because they lost to a team they weren't supposed to lose to.
Yeah.
You look at your schedule.
If you're Oregon, you say, well, I can see us tripping up here at Ohio State.
I can see us tripping up here, here, here.
You had no point did you look at the trip to Stillwater and say, I could see us tripping up.
At no point did you think you were going to be in a game of Boise State in the fourth quarter.
That is where it's not that they lost.
It's how they're competing in these games that is the trouble for Oregon.
What is, I guess I got to look up Oregon schedule.
Ohio State must win.
So they, oh.
It has to be, right?
They can probably lose to Ohio State.
They got to, they have any opportunities for like big wins.
Yeah, they got USC.
At USC.
Yeah, and now they have two in O Michigan.
Yeah.
They've got chances.
And Washington
to end the year,
which Washington doesn't look good either.
So if they run the table but lose...
It's 10 and 2.
They lose at Ohio State
but win every other game.
You think they're...
Everybody's aiming for 10 and 2,
especially these big time,
big schools like that.
As long as Oregon gets to 10 and 2,
they will be in the playoff.
I have no problem.
Michigan's the one that if they get to 10 and 2,
we're going to have some interesting conversations.
But then it gets interesting.
Yeah, right, right.
But then it gets interesting because like,
what if 10 and 2?
Because this was not a conference loss,
Brandon.
So then like, what if
what if one conference loss?
Yeah, I don't know if that math, maths.
Like, what if Oregon gets into the Big Ten championship to, like, lose Ohio State again?
I think they'd be fine.
And they're, you know, there's a path.
I don't know, there's a lot of football.
I'm staring down now after Texas, Texas and Ohio State and Michigan and Oklahoma,
a 9-3 SEC team, I feel like, is almost certainly getting in, especially if, like, Texas.
Awful early for all this, isn't it?
Huh?
I'm just saying, like, that's, it just went off of my mind.
just like watching those games. I'm like we were staring down the barrel at a nine and three
team getting into this playoff. Well, I know who it's not going to be. It's not going to be Oklahoma.
It's going to, and if I have to kick myself over being wrong or something, it's making myself
believe in Oklahoma this year because that is half a football team. Yeah. Brent Venables has
has not done a good job there. I know they went to the playoff last year because the refs
the refs gave them a win against Auburn that they didn't deserve. But this is a team. They
put together a good defense. They go on the.
road to a team that lost to Western Michigan, and they absolutely stink the entire time.
John Mateer just isn't it. He spends all summer trying to get him into beach bodge shape,
and he's taking pictures shirtless, and he can't fucking throw the football. Is his hand still
broken? I don't know. He might need to break it again. We made excuses for him last year.
We made excuses all year. He played all year, and we're like, oh, he was hurt. And then he gets here
and just simple man coverage. A, he doesn't have the receivers that can separate, so that's a
problem with Oklahoma. But B, that last interception he threw. That was a team.
10-in-game, they got the ball.
He throws one of the worst interceptions you'll ever see.
The guy has a step on him.
He throws it right to the defender, and Michigan ends up winning.
Now, credit to Michigan for bouncing back.
Defense is solid, I will say.
Michigan's defense, not.
You think they wasted their field storm?
It's kind of funny.
Yeah, they beat Oklahoma and they had nothing to it.
I thought my analysis of this game as a guy who watched it
and thought it was just a bad football game.
Bad, bad football game.
But Michigan's defense is good.
But it felt like Michigan went into this game knowing their quarterback sucks, and Oklahoma went into this game.
Thinking their quarterback was good.
And I think that was the difference.
I think that's an excellent reading of the game.
Bryce Underwood was okay.
You know, they were definitely running him a lot more.
They didn't let him beat him.
Yeah.
They were not like trying to like unleash Bryce Underwood, you know.
And it was nine passes.
Michigan didn't go into this game saying like, we're going to turn Bryce loose.
They were like, okay, our guy sucks.
We got to like put him in the spots where he can succeed.
Yeah.
And Oklahoma felt like we got a Heisman candidate behind center.
And I was like, oh, you don't.
No, you don't.
You're guys terrible.
But again, it's a Brent Venable's team.
He inherited a team that was historically good offensively and absolutely shit defensively.
And he cracked his knuckles and says, watch this.
Yeah.
And five years later, he has a good defense and one of the shittier offenses you'll ever see.
And he's like, look at me.
I did it.
And I just think I think he's one of the most over-hired coaches in America.
He should be a defensive coordinator at Clinton.
and he's instead leading a top 10 all-time program.
But Michigan, you know, credit to them they got off the mat,
I think the games we've seen Michigan play this year
will be the game they play every single week.
Oh, yeah.
Whoever they play this week is a nobody.
They'll probably win 31 or something.
But when they play Iowa, it's going to be 15, 13.
It's going to be ugly.
Whoever comes in the big house, it's going to be the exact same game every week
where the defense is great.
Defense keeps it to 10, 12 points.
and the Bryce Underwood breaks off one run.
They're not breaking 20 points ever.
I don't think, well, against the scrub.
Yeah.
And do they play Rutgers?
Let's see.
That they do.
On the road, though, in Piscataway, Halloween night.
You know what happens?
Can I just say, can we pump the brakes a little bit on Oklahoma?
We did the same thing to Michigan last week.
No, no, no, no.
Can I just finish?
Yeah, you can finish.
But I'm still going to say no.
They're going to play ugly football.
Obviously, you said John Materer is not what you have.
expected. But like Oklahoma
play a lot of ugly football
last year and their defense was good enough to get
them to the college football playoff. They're going to
catch teams because they play
very good defense and
will play ugly games. Like
who's to say that when they go
to the Texas State Fair in October,
they don't just make Archmanning
look like he looked for three quarters against
Ohio State. Here's why I'll say no. Last
year their schedule got them to the playoff.
Last year they had that game against
Auburn where they shouldn't have won. The refs gave him a touchdown.
that shouldn't have counted.
They won that, and they got,
they were able to get to the playoff based on the defense and the schedule.
This year, they got a tomato can this week.
You know where they go week after next?
To Athens, Georgia.
They got to go to, so they had, they needed the Michigan game.
They got Georgia and Texas back to back on the schedule.
If in early October, they're two and three,
and they've just lost to Texas, season's over.
But your argument, Ebo, is that maybe Oklahoma's a mucket up team.
Yeah, like they'll stylistically be different than a lot of teams
they're playing. Unfortunately for them, Michigan is also
a mucked up team. They're very comfortable in the muck.
And moving forward,
maybe Oklahoma can... I don't think
muck it up is a good strategy
for long-term success. I think maybe
you can get to one playoff and
have a freakish season. You can't do it
again against this schedule. I'm not going to say that
I still think that they are
a good
chance to make the playoff team. I do
think that if you're
going to the Georgia game or going into
the Texas game, expecting it to be like, oh, Oklahoma
stinks,
Texas and Georgia should dogwalk this team.
I don't know if that's going to be my expectation for Oklahoma.
I think they're going to be a lot of games against ranked teams.
They have Ole Miss as well, Texas A&M down the stretch like,
they're going to catch a couple of those guys just because of the nature of the SEC this year.
They play a team in Starkville this year.
Oh, we're smoking them, buddy.
What is interesting to me is I think our brains as college football fans have adapted to the new
expanded playoff, but our hearts and our physiolize.
As you're watching these games unfold, it has not reacted or, you know, responded and gotten acclimated to the new system where, like, Ohio State loses that game.
And ultimately, again, like waking up 36 hours later to do this show, I'm like, oh, yeah, we're fine.
You know, you go on draft.
Our national title, it literally got better.
And, like, we're going to lose maybe two more games and still make the playoff.
But my gut is still, excuse me, in that mode of like, oh, we just fucked up our entire season, Brandon.
You know?
So I, you'll never.
Oklahoma. So, like, maybe all of these teams. You'll never shake that. And that's what's good
about college football, because even though the reality has changed a little bit, fans' expectations
and responses have not changed. Like, is there a Rams fan that watched the Australia
game and it's like, we're, it's over? We're dog shit. You know, you're just kind of like,
it's week one. Cowboys fans throwing themselves off building right now. Like, of course,
we wanted to win the game, but we got time. But it is funny that college football still has
that, you know, you still have those feelings. Anyway, Michigan, Oklahoma was our Fox One game
of the week. It all goes down at noon. Big teams, big
plays big noon saturday streaming live on fox one rivalries upsets chaos whatever happens
you're watching it live football at noon streaming live on four big noon saturday live on fox one
three days are free uh offers are subject to change she fox one for complete terms and
conditions what is the uh what's going on with big noon this saturday it's in london is in london
is in london i understand that correctly foggy london town what's uh i did that without any
accident what's going on in london the mentioner on the bruntan the mentioner on the brunk
I can't remember what exactly.
For a second, I thought it was Kent State, Ohio State in London.
But no, they're playing that one at the shoes.
It's so funny.
We're going to Kent State.
Ohio State played at in-state school.
They were like, oh, we're doing a big new kickoff in London.
And then stay tuned for Kent State, Ohio State.
They're like, wait a second.
They're not playing that one over the seat.
No, I'll look into it.
Well, that's no sillier than like Virginia and NC State we're going to play in Rio.
Yeah, exactly.
And Virginia, NC State, was it two hours apart, three hours from?
The two schools that are playing in London, you would never get.
guests are playing in London. I know one of them.
Okay. Well, I know both of them, but...
Well, Mark, let Mark guess. Um, two schools playing in London. So this is not
conference play yet. We're still in... It is a conference. It is a conference. It is a conference game.
It is a conference game in Wembley.
I'll give you the conference. You have a conference? This feels like... Okay. I think I have as,
I think I know the conference. This feels like a big 12 move. That's right.
It's a big 12 move. Give me... Give me Colorado versus Houston.
No, but you would guess Colorado would.
play in London.
Yeah, Colorado and London.
It is Colorado?
No, you would guess that, though.
I said it's two teams you wouldn't guess.
Oh, it's two teams you wouldn't guess.
And so you actually kind of proved my point because you guessed two teams there aren't the two teams.
It is UCF.
Nope.
Again, it's a team you wouldn't guess and you're three for three.
Think of somebody you wouldn't guess.
You have to guess who you wouldn't guess.
I found myself in quite the paradox here.
Huh.
Huh.
It's BYU.
No, I just guessed that.
Who's playing in London?
It's, uh, Arizona.
versus Kansas and
versus Kansas
in,
in Wembley.
In Wembley Stadium?
Yeah.
I don't know, dude.
I thought Wembley Stadium
was more prestigious than that.
Am I understanding?
Arizona State's not bad, by the way.
That score is way worse
than how they play.
Arizona State,
cutter bowl is a pretty good quarterback,
but Kansas is.
Are we just lying to
the people in Britain
about how good these teams are?
We're sitting down the negotiating table?
My understanding of Wembley Stadium
is like it's a sacred ground.
You have to be like
the biggest act on Earth.
SummerSlam 92.
Davy Boy Smith.
And we said the Jaguars in Kansas football.
Yeah, right.
Well, does Arizona have any history with slavery at all that Kansas can dig up and maybe
stir up some more interest in the game?
It doesn't feel like it.
Okay.
I don't really know the history of slavery in Arizona, but doesn't feel like it.
Did you see after the game, Drink said the reason that he laid it on them at the end was because
Green Greene Greig got pants?
You just stepped all over what I was once in.
Bigger story from the Missouri game.
drink
quoting or talking about Green Gregg
or Green Gregg getting pants.
That was the funniest tweet I've ever seen in my life.
Greg just dropped that out of nowhere.
Some bitch.
To the bitch that pants me.
I got to know.
Can you call him?
I'd like to know if there's cock and balls.
Was it around the ankles?
Have him zoom in. Have him zoom in. T.J.
He's got the flu.
Yeah.
He's joining a Zoom to do five minutes.
hit he can be he is the classic uh i got the flu after a long weekend of part oh yeah i got the

beers i drank someone someone put some shit in those 12 beers dude i feel
like shit. What are your symptoms? I don't fucking know. But I just, I got a headache. Oh.
That does seem like something they would do in poor decisions where Burns says, what are your
symptoms? And he's like, why don't you fucking ask me that? I don't know. I don't fucking know. I want
to talk about the NFL, by the way. We're going to get to the NFL. We got one more college topic.
We have more college. Go ahead. One more college topic, then we'll go to the NFL. Oh, Mississippi State.
Boys? Boys. Boys. Boy. Yeah. You. You.
relax we're probably going to lose
in South Carolina this weekend they're a very good team
in my top 25 we look
pretty fucking good yeah Camaro
Taylor is one of the best
quarterbacks in the country I don't know if you
watched it closely this dude has zip on his
passes that doesn't I've been
slow playing this I've been you know me I'm a
classy guy I don't like to brag about my team or my school

Fuck you.
Fuck you.
Fuck you.
You're all right.
You're okay.
Killed Jersey for beat Minnesota.
Connor,
what do you think about that?
Is it fair or foul?
Let's a three-year tradition.
Mark,
Mark, he's...
Coming out of the...
He always killed.
This is a Jersey.
No.
Coming out of our three-year...
Get my back here, Connor.
Our three-year birthday celebration,
a three-year tradition on the show
of treating Jersey as sacred.
Throwing that all straight in the fucking garbage
for beating Minnesota.
Fair or ferville.
foul. I'm going to say it's definitely foul, Mark, because I went through years on the show where I would
wear Penn State jerseys the day before a game, and I was chastised for it to the point where I
eventually backed off. We even had it this past Friday. We did. Where I walked into the office with a jersey,
and you guys like, whoa, whoa, whoa, I said, hold on, I'm taking it off for the show, and I'll just wear
the undershirt. By the way, we didn't say anything, but yeah. Yeah, yeah. We were going to say stuff.
Exactly. So I took it off, and then the very next show, Brandon is like, oh, here I am,
wearing my jersey because my team all of a sudden
is finally good for once in my fucking life
and yeah it's just ridiculous
absolutely ridiculous
I wasn't going to say anything
because I'm totally fine with wearing jerseys
on other days but if you're going to get on me for it
then yeah that's crazy Evo I'm not going to throw
a fit about it because
like I actually
I feel for you because you
you haven't felt anything for so
long that I'm fine with you rebelling
a little bit you haven't felt anything
in so long and to see
happy for once? Like, I've known you what?
Oh, wow, like six years at this point.
And this is like the first time I've seen you happy, so I'm happy for you.
Thoughts?
I would say I think it's fine except what Connor said that you've pointed out that it's not fine.
Yeah.
I'll wear a jersey this Friday.
Yeah, I think it's a totally fine thing to wear a jersey.
There are no rules anymore.
But you guys don't.
I'll wear Penn State jersey on Friday.
There's just no rules anymore.
No rules anymore.
And that's fine, but there's just no rules anymore.
No Greg thinks about it?
Oh, boy.
I thought those pants were going the other direction.
I thought you were doing it for Greg.
Wait, should we all go Greg?
Should we all go Greg for this interview?
Pants ourselves?
Greg, Greg, what happened?
Was what?
Greg, you tweeted Friday night to the bitch that pants me.
What the fuck?
Who pants you?
Why are they a bitch?
And were your cock and balls out?
One, a bitch, two, a scumbag.
Three, no.
them. How low did the pants go?
To my feet. All the way to the ankles.
And your underpants were fine. They were fine. They were not touched. No.
What were you wearing tidy whiteies or boxer shorts or boxer briefs?
Boxer shorts. Okay. All right.
Yeah. I guess it's the thing in Lawrence that they do when rivals come into town.
They just pants. Wait a second.
as his tradition. Time out. Hold on.
I wasn't the only one that got pants.
They didn't recognize you as Barso, Greg. They just did it for the love of the game.
Yes.
That's just the thing they do.
And then my other buddy, like 10 minutes later, got pants by the same friend group.
Why did, why was your other buddy hanging around that friend group?
No, we weren't. They literally were walking around the bar, like, outside just finding any
Missou fan and pantsing them.
After the second pantsing.
Was there thoughts of fisticuffs?
What?
After the second pantsing, did you consider fistacuffs?
What's fistacuffs?
Oh, I didn't you really?
All right, thank you, Greg.
Yeah, see you guys.
Did you, are you feeling better?
What's wrong?
Are you sick?
Can I just ask it one more time?
Go ahead.
I'm pretty fucking sick right now.
Greg, I'm going to try one more time.
After the second passing, did you consider fighting that friend group?
No.
that you were outnumbered by a lot.
So you just took the pantsing.
Yeah, you just got to laugh it off
or else you're going to get your ass beat.
But then you tweeted about it.
Yeah, might as well do that.
Yeah.
You got to fight back somehow.
Just turn to Twitter.
Rick, have you considered that all of us at Barstow
might pants you from here to eternity now?
How did you get sick?
I don't know.
It's a good question.
But I woke up feeling like absolute shit today.
What were you doing yesterday?
I literally was just watching NFL all day.
Yeah.
I think Sunday I just, I don't know, or Saturday,
something just triggered off because yesterday I didn't feel great,
but today I just feel like shit.
What would you get into Saturday?
I was just watching college football on my buddy's house,
but he has a cat.
So maybe like, maybe the allergies kicked off something.
Are you allergic to cats?
Yeah, I think so.
I would like to congratulate you.
I know we made fun of you for the pantsing.
I'd like to congratulate you for Friday night.
Huge win for slavery.
Huge win.
I know how strong you felt about that, Greg.
So it was a big win for the Missouri Tigers.
And slavery.
Just step in the right direction for you guys.
In what way?
All right.
Thank you, Greg.
Yeah, see you guys.
Feel better.
Poor guy.
You had a cat, Brandon.
Even through context clues should tell you what fisticuffs are.
Yeah.
You would think.
You would think.
You would think.
Let's do the NFL.
Please, let's do the NFL.
Should we do some business?
I've only got one piece, so I was going to do mine later.
Okay.
I'll talk about Marzetti Ranch.
How does Marzetti ranch stack up to the number one ranch in the country?
It's not even close when you taste the top self-Marsetti stuff made with real buttermilk,
herbs and herbs and herbs.
Marzetti has been making premium ranch and blue cheese for over 100 years,
so they know what they're doing over there at Marzetti.
We're talking about real buttermilk, real herbs, real spices, real blue cheese chunks,
and real good on wings, pizza, poppers, veggies,
and anything you can dip on game day.
Don't settle for basic boring ranch.
Get the restaurant quality stuff from Marzetti.
Get the good ranch.
Get Marzetti.
Find Marzetti Ranch at your local grocery store
refrigerated by the fruits and veggies.
And visit marzetti.com to learn more.
Marzetti Ranch.
So the National Football League happened.
I don't really know what's considered the biggest game.
I'll just start on Sunday night.
I thought the Giants,
the Cowboys lost 28, 20 to the Giants,
but the Giants maybe made the headlines
by being the most competent
and put together.
I've seen them in a very long time.
Yeah.
It's interesting.
I think there are two stories for me coming out.
There's one coach and one player,
although there were a lot of great players.
Josh Allen was fucking unbelievable.
You know, it's a great defense.
But the coach story for me
is that John Harbaugh,
somehow leaving the Ravens made the Ravens better,
but also going to the Giants made the Giants back.
And proved two teams in one swoop.
Yes.
Really impressive.
I don't know how that works.
Are the Colts just garbage?
Maybe the Colts are just bad.
Because they're, that defense,
Gruden pointed out today on Webb,
he showed the play where Zay Flowers caught the ball in the middle of the field
and just outran everybody.
Yeah.
Shocking lack of speed from the Colts.
That's something you see like a top five team do against like a,
yes.
A.
But yeah, the Giants, it wasn't just that they won brand.
I thought they looked professional.
They looked like a professional football team.
Pretty.
They looked.
Yeah.
They looked disciplined.
Every time you thought the Cowboys might have a chance to get in it,
the Giants had like third and four and just gave him to Scataboo and they blocked their asses off.
Scataboo is unreal.
He's unreal.
Like likely was very good.
Like it feels like they put together like a big physical mean team.
Yeah.
And, and Cowboys defense is dog shit.
We got to say.
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know how that's happening.
You know, they didn't look like they just didn't have a plan for getting hit in the mouth,
and they really kind of coward.
Dak threw that bizarre interception at the end of the first half.
But other than that, there wasn't much Dak was going to do.
They just never got the ball in the second half, but that pick was terrible.
Tomlin pointed something out, which, by the, I thought Tomlin did a great job last night, excited for him.
I think he was saying how in this day and age of the NFL, used to be that first game of the year,
offenses were always behind defenses.
Like, you can have a good defense in week one, but the offenses are going to be.
to take some time to really flourish.
Now it's kind of flipped, though, because they don't really hit a whole lot in the preseason.
That's a good point, yeah.
Well, the Bears in Carolina.
Exactly.
Like, this was the highest scoring week one, possibly ever.
I think we still have to wait for the next.
And that's the other player.
That's the story.
That's the player story.
It's Caleb Williams.
Yes.
Which I guess it could be a coach story, too.
Ben Johnson is the one that was, like, very brash about, like, we're going to have the best
offense of all time.
They look pretty fucking good.
And so far, yeah.
If they keep this pace up, they will be the best offense of all time.
But, yeah, highest score.
There were 10 teams, I think, that scored 30 points in week one.
And we still have tonight to go.
So who knows.
You know who scored the least?
I do.
The Los Angeles Rams.
Bingo, the Super Team.
Yeah.
And now Miles Garrett's out for a month, at least.
That's, they're not.
They're not telling us something.
No, I just don't think the Rams are going to be the story of the season.
I think they were the story of the off season.
And I just think that division, Seattle and the 49ers both, I know it's overreaction Monday and everything.
I'm just really reacting to everybody else in the league.
So many other teams just look so, God.
damn good. You know, the bill's going on the road
and doing what they did to the Texans defense.
Right.
It is impressive.
You know, there's just so many teams that I thought were,
the Ravens overly impressive.
Can I say it? Ravens look good.
The Ravens look good.
Ravens look good. Sorry. I didn't mean to catch you.
I was going to say the Jags look good. Now, I know
that's the Browns and everything. But can I give
credit to somebody in this, in,
in this room?
Somebody you wouldn't expect. Somebody who's
yourself. So goddamn stupid and this is the worst.
Ebo.
Ibo a couple of months ago was like,
I know everybody's down on the Cardinals,
but they got some talent.
And he said,
he told me to take the over.
And like the Cardinals fucking took it to the charges.
Chargers are the most disappointing team, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Have to be.
Because the Rams,
you could argue they punted that game.
Yeah.
You could argue that they just didn't put everything into it.
The Chargers at home against the fucking Cardinals
who were trying to probably get the number one pick.
And the Cardinals just beat them thoroughly.
The floor was like,
like, was pissed.
They didn't score more points.
So we got running up on these guys.
I mean, they had by Vegas, so the lowest win total ever was three.
That's the two expansion teams, the Panthers and the Jaguars in their first year.
But there's only 16 game schedule.
Cardinals win total was three and a half games for a 17 game schedule.
They're one of the worst teams, prognosticated, be one of the worst teams in the history of the NFL preseason.
Yeah.
And they're already 1 and0 on the road against.
But they got dudes all over that roster.
It's a team that should be a playoff team.
The eyes of many is like a pretty obvious playoff team.
And it's one of the things.
where it's like you look at the offensive weapons
and I told you that a team had Trey McBride
I told you a team had Marvin Harrison Jr.
who was like a top 10 pick. I told you a team had
Michael Wilson who. Jeremiah I love.
And they had a top 10 pick at running back
and Jeremiah I love you. But like oh that team probably has got a
shot. A shot. I think a puncher's chance
at worst in games.
I think they got a shot. I should think he got shot.
Marvin Harrison Jr.'s prime for a
I don't know bounceback is the word but like a
water find in its level.
Yeah. He was overhyped as the prospect
And then now he's like almost undervalued that like, you know,
because he wasn't greatest receiver we've ever seen.
But now people, you know, coming into this year, people talk about him like he literally cannot catch a football.
Yeah.
And I feel like I feel like he'll catch the football.
I feel like he'll do, he'll be better this year.
I don't want to overreact with hyperbole.
I think we saw one of the worst calls we'll ever see in the NFL yesterday.
Oh, yeah.
I don't.
And it goes to to the point that Mike Pereira.
and Bill LaMontier,
I'm trying to think of all the rules experts
as you can have in the book.
Dean Blandino.
Thank you.
All the rules experts.
Fuck them.
They're not there to interpret the rules.
They're not there.
They're there to say the refs got it right.
I know that you could technically probably point to a rule,
a vague rule in the NFL rule book and say,
well, actually his arm, he meant for his arm to be coming forward.
In football history, high school, college, pro,
Pop Warner.
that's a fumble 100 times out of 100.
There's never a time that's not a fumble.
He had the ball.
He got hit.
The ball goes backwards.
Even if you say it was a pass, it's a backwards pass.
That's a fumble.
And there are people that will say, well, actually, the rule here states, rule 37B size 12 says this.
No.
A hundred percent time, that has been a fumble.
That will always be a fumble.
And yesterday, the refs fucked it up on the field.
And then Mike Pereira comes on and says, yep, the refs got to.
it right. No, they fucking didn't. Yeah. And the quarterback's intent was to throw it forward.
What the fuck are you talking about? That was a fumble. You know a fumble when you see. It's like
Potter stort with porn. Yes. You know it when you see it. It's like Potter stort. You know a fumble
when you see it. Even when you have to go back in a review, there will be a moment in the review
you're like, oh, fuck, that's a fumble. Yeah. That's, that was a fumble. That's, that had every
single marking of a fumble. There's never been a, there's never been a play in history
where that play was called. Well, let me ask you this. Because,
Pereira's
like the idea of a rules analyst
what do you want out of the rules analyst
so that play happens
they call it a forward pass
and they bring on a guy
now it sounds like you want the guy
to be like that was a dog shit call
now I'm with you I do not want them to just agree with them
I get very frustrated
I want some sort of pushback
but also is there value in like
as the rest of us are like
in what fucking world could you possibly comprehend that
is there value as a forward pass
is there value in a guy that's like
I don't believe this.
To be clear, I think it's a fumble.
Here's why the ref probably called it the way he did.
So that way we're kind of informed on why the ref called it that way,
even though we all disagree.
I want a retired high school or college ref.
Okay.
I want him in a recliner in the corner of the TV booth.
I want him with headphones on reading a mad magazine,
cigarette in the ashtray,
drink in an ice cold medello.
Yeah.
I want him just chilling.
I want him just sitting over there.
He's got his legs crossed.
He's just, he's into his mad libs.
He's doing that.
I want somebody tap him on the shoulder.
Say, hey, come here.
Watch that.
What do you think the call should be?
And I want him to go, oh, that's a fumble.
That's a fumble.
And then say, all right, thanks.
And then go back to your, go back to your beer and your cigarettes.
That's all you want.
That's all I want.
I don't want somebody say, well, here's what the ref, the ref, by the way, my buddy
Jeff, or we co-signed a land loan in Albuquerque.
He was exactly right.
because fuck that.
That's a fumble.
That's a fumble every time.
I agree with you.
The rules analyst in the booth
should be so much better
than the way they execute.
I think we need like another guy maybe.
Because I do think it's valuable
for us to be like,
that's horseshit and have a guy be like,
you know, like my prayer is like,
I didn't make the call,
but if you want an explanation
as to why we arrived at this point,
it is good to know
what the ref was thinking or whatever.
It's like having a guy
just kind of explain
what's going on in the ref's brain.
is nice, but I also need another voice that's like, having said all that,
that's a fucking fumble.
It needs to be a second voice.
You can have your ref as the lead guy.
It should be a ref and a coach, a retired coach, yeah.
It should be a ref and a retired coach sitting together.
Yeah.
Like, you know, Mike Pereira get Mike Dicca.
I don't know.
Let Mike Pereira do his entire spiel.
Yeah.
Like, Groon's like, yeah, but come on.
Come on.
Come on.
That's a fucking fumble.
That's what I want.
I want a coach to be able to sit there and say, well, actually, in 1987, this happened
who has in the playoffs. It was a fumble against us.
So why the hell, Mike, is it not a fumble now?
Yes. That's what we need. We need that
other voice. I was going to say,
Ref Rob. Rob. Rob.
Ref Rob. It should be a three-man
committee of refrob,
an old ref and the coach.
Yeah. And they have to,
whatever two of them pick. Why don't we do the idea
we came up with every time there's a call like this
to have refrobs on standby so we can soon?
I don't know, Brandon. That is something
we seriously say. Should we try to get him right now?
If we can get refraub, I would like for ref rob to look at that play
can't tell me if it was a fumble or not,
even though he is an AAU
basketball official.
He said he did some football, right?
I've been, uh,
I think so, right?
I don't know, he's just so cool.
I'm back in on ref rob content.
I was never out, but like, I've been,
he's been popping across the timeline lately.
And I'm stopping and enjoying what I'm saying.
He's the best.
Got to get him back in here.
Uh, car.
We got to get him to referee shit.
A game, yeah.
Like we do so.
BBA.
We need so many refs for, yeah,
I want him to BBA.
You're the commissioner of the BBA.
You should just make that call.
It's my one idea I have and no one to listen to me.
Connor, the Eagles, win 24 to 22.
Yeah.
There are things you can pull out of that and say,
oh, it look really good.
And then there's the fact that you did win the game by two points
on a busted two-point conversion thoughts.
Offensive line is a problem.
Which, you guys know I'm a cowherd guy.
I love cowherd.
And now I guess technically he's a colleague.
We're on the lead into his show.
bad take.
I'd like to ask Colin Calhurt
if he thinks Connor Griffin's his colleague.
Technically speaking, we're the lead-in to the show, are we not?
It goes, wake up Barstool to hurt.
Sure, sure.
We're on the same network.
But at the same time, yeah, he put out a bad tweet yesterday
where he said that Jalen Hertz was the problem.
He was like, Eagles have a great offensive line,
and they have great receivers in Sequin Barkley,
and Jalen Hurts still is struggling,
but the offensive line is bad.
Lane Johnson's going to retire.
Landon Dickerson's going to retire.
Cam Juergens is not Jason Kelsey at Center.
They were bad yesterday.
We'll see how it goes.
I wanted to get another call across your radar, Mark.
Last night in the Sunday night football game,
the Cowboys were down 28, 14, and the fourth quarter,
Devante Williams catches a swing pass,
is running in the end zone, holds out the ball in front of the other.
It's 50-50 to me.
50% says you're losing, what the fuck are you doing?
And the other 50 is like, I don't know, that was that bad.
Yeah, my gut reaction was like,
that shouldn't be a flag.
but also
don't fucking risk it
I stopped and I thought about it
and I was like
you should have a flag
for taunting
there has to be a line
somewhere Brandon
like if you're
if you're like
if you're jerking your cock and balls
as you're going across the line
at the guy
that's a flag right
like there's a line
there's a gesture you could do
that's like
we probably should flag that
um
I just didn't really feel like
that was enough
but I understood why it was called
what if we had a flag
for taunting while losing
by double digits
should be that yeah
like
taunting while losing.
Taunting while losing in the fourth quarter.
There was a...
There's some, along the similar lines, what's the...
We might be thinking of the same thing.
We are.
Go ahead. You say it then.
There was a play earlier in the game where George Pickens dropped a ball.
Dach dropped it right in his hands.
A 30-yard pass. Piggins just dropped it.
Pickens had a step, dropped it.
And the defensive back did the whole...
Right.
Yeah.
That's, yeah.
So I feel like...
Taunting while getting beat.
Yeah, maybe it's on...
I feel like you should have a...
Let me think about this.
No, let me not think about it.
Let me just say it.
Okay.
Don't think.
You should get like a one second, one, maybe two seconds to do whatever you want.
You're talking about the two pump rule.
Maybe the two pump rule, but it's like a, it's kind of like the challenge system with baseball.
Yeah.
Like you got to do it right away.
Yeah.
You got to do it right away.
You can do whatever you want, but then it's over.
And if you, if it's prolonged, you're out if it, you know, because, yeah, you can celebrate any play you want.
You can do anything, you literally anything you want.
want you just have literally one second to do it.
Okay.
What about that?
So if, if.
Or two seconds.
I don't know how much time we should draw the line at, but, uh, so if, uh, if scataboo
for example.
Yeah.
Last night he scored that first touchdown.
As soon as he crossed the line, dropped the ball, did a cartwheel into a flip.
Yeah.
If he had crossed the line turned and run, was running back towards the sideline and then did
the cartwheel, we're flagging that.
I think so.
I think it's.
Or no cartwheel flag.
I, I am confused by the, the, the celebration.
and the taunting and all that in the NFL because
Cartwheels and backflips, fine.
They run a commercial now, the Selly Lab
or whatever, where all the guys are doing their celebration.
It happened in the commanders game, right?
There was a guy that ran into the goalpost.
It was Staphn's.
I want to bring that up.
That was probably the biggest play of the game.
That's why the commanders had to go for two at the very end of the game
because he put him in a bad situation earlier on.
Why is that a flag?
Right, like they can do certain things.
It's any sort of touching of the goalpost.
Why?
You have to relevel it or something.
allowed to celebrate with props.
Why?
Right.
I understand what you're saying.
Why?
Like it opens up a bag of worms where it's like if you can use one prop then you could
you know if you put with the pylon that's a penalty.
If you, you know, grab the cheerers pom-pons.
That's a.
To which I would say.
Why?
Why?
I don't know.
It's any use of props in celebration as an automatic penalty.
Sure.
I hear you.
Shout out of John Dix's.
I have one rebuttal that.
Why?
Also, credit to him, that was full sin on that.
Yeah.
He went balls first.
into that cold. I mean, there's just no way
that that's, like, more offensive or more
of a problem than
like Scataboo doing
fucking cartwheels or, like, some of the
other, like, they have a celebration.
Like, celebrations are fun. I don't know. I'm confused by this.
Confused by the NFL stance on
celebrating. Ocho Cinco had a whole
this is Sports Center commercial about it.
Let's try something. Go ahead. I'm going to run through
the scoreboard and you stop me when you have a thing to say.
Okay. Anybody can stop me, okay?
Broncos Chiefs tonight.
They haven't played. There's no score. No score.
yet. Steelers 20, Falcons 13.
I have nothing to say.
That game didn't happen.
I've literally.
Okay.
That was the one.
This is why I'm doing it.
I have not a single word about that game.
T.J. Watt had a pick six, I believe.
Ravens 41, Colts 23.
Not that close, though, didn't seem.
Ravens look legit.
Yeah, yeah.
Also, how's Derek Henry still good?
He's so good.
He somehow looks like he's moving in slow motion, but he's still the fastest guy on the field.
This one will elicit some reactions.
Bill's 36, Texans 31.
Josh Allen's unbelievable.
Josh Allen is...
They had him beat, though.
They dropped a pick to end the game.
Yeah.
And then bang, it's a home run right after that.
What about...
So Josh Allen, I mean, we could talk the rest of the show about how good he was.
Yeah.
But I don't know if we're going to say anything new.
And anyone else hasn't said.
C.J. Stroud.
I think that was kind of a...
He played pretty well.
This was a game that was circled for the C.J.
Strowd part where, you know, the way the season ended last year and the, what are we going to see from him this year?
I felt like he didn't play that poorly, yeah.
I thought he was good enough, but he took those two sacks at the end.
Well, fumble to start the game, fumble to end the game.
Yeah, like he, there was enough bad there to keep the people who are big time doubters and deniers or big time, you know, haters of C.J. Stroud.
There's enough there, but there was enough good that you say, well, they scored 31 points.
He played well enough to win.
Yeah.
He played well enough.
If you told me C.J. Stroud on Sunday will score 31 points.
The Texans are going to win that game by two touchdowns.
But back to Josh Allen.
Is he in position to do some LeBron shit?
By that, I mean, like, he's known for being a great passer of the football, but then you actually look at, like, LeBron's like fifth all time and assist.
And you're like, wait a second.
I didn't, I don't.
Is Josh Allen, does he have a chance to like be top?
He has more rushing touchdowns than Earl Campbell.
Top 10 all time and rushing touchdowns?
It's not a chance.
It's like almost a virtual guarantee at this point he is top 10 all time and rushing touchdown.
That's pretty amazing.
He needs 10 more to get to 11th all time, and I believe Barry has 100.
That first run he had yesterday from about 25 yards out was unbelievable.
Can I get a list?
Yeah, this is exactly what I want.
All right.
Emmett Smith has 1604.
Derek Henry.
Let me ask you a question.
Let me ask you a question.
Does Derek Henry move up on that list again?
Or is he done moving up?
20 touchdowns is a lot.
That's a lot.
But every time you think he's.
How old is he?
Like, how many is he going to get this?
He's 32, which is ancient.
I think he's 32.
too. I do think he's going to do it. I think he's going to do it. I think he might break the
record simply because he has the advantage that none of these like other aging running backs
have ever had, which is he's playing with the greatest runner at quarterback in the history of the
league and Lamar Jackson. And it makes defense's account for the quarterback in the run game in a way
that he doesn't have to be fucking awesome in different ways. You can just kind of plow through guys
or pause. And they'll be holds there for him just because Lamar creates them. Bring that list up
again.
made it worse after you're all right so mark salon agent
Peterson walter patten
Jim Brown John Briggins
Marshall Foxe Sean Alexander so that's
you got to get to 100 to be in the top 10
Barry said where is he where is
there he is number so 19 touchdowns away
from being in the top 10 he has as many touchdowns
as Frank Gore that's insane
rushing touchdowns
is 100 being the top 10
like is that perfect that's almost
that's so perfect yeah
what uh how old is Josh
yeah give me the rest of the forecast
He's younger there.
How old is he?
What is he averaging per year?
31?
30.
Josh Allen's played eight or this is his ninth year in the NFL,
so he's probably a 30 on the nose.
And how many rushing touchdowns per year is that then?
Like if he continues,
he's got nine years.
He continues the pace he's on.
So he's,
how long does he have to play to make top five rushing touchdown leaders?
Okay, so if he's nine for 81 right now, right?
Which is 83 now?
Let's say he gets to 10 this year still of 90.
So he went 8, 9, 8, 6, 7, you know, 15, 12, 14, 14, 2 so far this year.
So the first career is probably averaging between 9 and 10.
Well, yeah, but lately it's going up because they're doing a lot more sneaks at the goal line, right?
He's going to play 8 to 10 more years.
Yeah.
They're a tush pushing, yeah.
So if he averaged, if he averaged, if he averaged, if he averaged, if he averts, if he averts, if he averts, if he averts, if he averts, let's say he averts five or a, or a
10 years. So it's 50 more.
That's, uh, put him at 131, which would put him at third all time.
That, and that was very conservative, was it not?
He'll still be behind Derek Kinder there because you've got to imagine Derek Kinder there.
What if he averages, what if he averages?
Eight a year over 10 years. That's 80 plus. That would put him at 60. That's close.
Right at it. That's right at it.
He's got average. He's got average 80 year for 10 years.
Tommy Walker could be sitting here in this chair in 10 years talking about Josh Allen breaking the all-time
record. I think he's, he's on pace.
Yeah. He's on pace. He's literally on pace. He's literally on a shot. He's literally on
his shot. Speaking of he's got shot, has anybody checked in on our boy? I'm sure we will on the
act. He's not doing a live stream, right? He is. He is doing the live stream. I think he is.
I talked to him yesterday. I think he's going to try to go live for the end of it.
I thought he was live. He was saying basically like it's kind of boring in between
for a live stream to just have him sitting at the McDonald's like editing videos. He wouldn't
want to bring attention to himself in the McDonald's, which is, I think the one reason he wouldn't go live.
I can't wait for Josh. Josh Allen breaks the all-time rushing touchdown record, and then we do it after dark where we have to break it. Do 165 quarterback sneaks from the wall. Also, they actually did, they broke a record yesterday, by the way, the bills. What? And this is unconfirmed. This is just a record in my head. They ran the earliest hook and ladder I've ever seen in the history of an NFL scene. Yeah, I like that. They ran on the first. They ran on the first.
The first drive of the game.
They ran hook and ladder.
Which made me think, Ebo.
Why isn't that just a normal play in everybody's, everybody's arsenal?
Because they ran it like it was just, like, they're just going to run it all the time.
Yeah.
How is it any more difficult?
I mean, obviously there's an extra step where, you go, but how is it any more difficult
than like just a pitch play or something, you know, like an option pitch or something, you know?
Yeah.
I guess all it takes is one time for it not to work for the pitchman to miss the pitch and it's over forever.
But, like, it almost always works kind of.
Can I ask a question about Tate?
Why is he wearing the McDonald's clown?
The Ronald McDonald costume?
Was that a stipulation of the...
He's a showman.
He's a clown.
I think it's because Tate's strongest quality that he has is his ability to commit,
and I think that's because he was a teacher.
I'm going to do this ad now because of what he just did.
I'm going to give away my Sport Clips MVP of the weekend.
No way.
Classic rookie mistake, not going to Sport Clips haircuts.
Guys come in looking like they've just been sacked by a 250-pound linebacker,
but walk out looking like a first-round pick.
Sport Clips, stylists have the playbook for a clean cut.
They've mastered the X's nose of men's hair.
You get the kind of haircut that speaks for itself.
You know the one where guys give you a nod of approval.
It's a nod that says, I see you with your first team, all pro-level haircut.
You must have gone to Sport Clips.
And it makes sense because Sport Clips is a place designed for guys to win.
And walk out with a haircut ready for the highlight reel.
Sport Clips, sport your look.
Choose your time. Choose your stylist.
Check in online today.
So I've got a Sport Clips MVP of the World.
weekend to give out. And I am going to give it out to Liam Francis Blutman. Because this weekend
at 12, we did the Brandon Walker College Football Show Saturday night. I believe we ended about
1230 a.30 a.m. Central time. This morning at 7 a.m. Central time, we went live for Wakeup Barstool.
Liam was there at 1230 on Saturday night doing that show. He was there today at 7 a.m.
In between that time, he went to New York, went to the U.S. Open, and got you a hat.
guy of my hat.
Got me a hat.
Finesse.
How about that?
Were you already in New York Saturday night?
No, I took like an hour nap and then left for the airport at three.
And then, so you got on a plane went to the U.S. Open to see Ben Shelton win the U.S. open.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
23 year drought is open.
Had to be there to see Ben Shelton win.
Had to do it.
Had to do it.
So what was that moment like when he won?
Oh, it was so cool, man.
We all out big Bamos and we all had the best time.
I know you're a tennis fan and I know you're a tennis fan.
and I know you're a Ben Shelton fan,
but you're that big of a Ben Shelton fan?
Yeah, I mean, he's the reason why I love tennis.
Him and Chris Eubanks,
I met Chris Eubanks, so that was cool.
I don't understand people,
people say Ben Sheldon's not a likable fella.
That seems to be the online discourse.
I don't, I don't understand it.
I don't even like him because you like him.
I like him.
I arrived at liking Ben Shelton independently of your love of Ben Shelton.
Yeah, I, people think he's arrogant,
think his dad's annoying.
They're just a nice, they're just a great family.
Yeah, I don't.
the family all shows up for each other.
They all love each. Look at Trandy.
Showing up. Trinidad played a game
Saturday or Sunday morning. Got
there as Ben was losing, unfortunately.
But they all love each other.
Ben Shelton got a lot of hate
yesterday because of how he celebrated
the third set win.
Yeah, which is
getting himself fired up, right?
It's every tennis player. Yeah, I don't understand.
That's the easiest tennis celebration you can do.
Yeah.
Hey, Mark. Yeah.
Maas.
Go like that.
Yeah.
It's also like Americans, I feel like have been clamoring for like an answer to Alcaraz and sinner and like this is the closest thing we're going to get to an answer to that.
We got the answer to Alcarus.
Might as well get behind it while you can.
Why why hate on that?
I do love that that's that's arrogance in tennis is going.
Having a little bit of charisma.
No, I never I've never clocked him as being arrogant and maybe it just speaks to me.
Never have I think.
Maybe that speaks to like how little tennis I guess I watch.
I guess people that follow tennis are like how can you not see.
what I see what I see but I I think Ben Sheldon is awesome I really really like the fellow yeah um though man
the Svarev hasn't lost to a lefty since 2025 so he was that's not really that long
February 20 25 he's like 60 in his last 60 against lefties oh is that brin Shelton had only
ever taken your give you your read on that stat hasn't lost to a lefty since 2025
February if you had a an acopal it's a year and a half if you had a child you would still be referring to
child's age in months.
Yeah.
That's like, how many left-handed players are there?
Three?
I decided you was 60 and though on that stretch.
Yeah.
I defer to Blutman's instincts on tennis stats.
Also,
Shelton playing Svarev and people trying to pretend
like Shelton's like the guy
who shouldn't be chairing for.
It's crazy, by the way.
Crazy.
I felt like there were a little too many cheers
for the German in that matchup
when you should be ruined for the American.
Well, it might have been too big.
Can I ask Blubman about this,
that I saw. What's to make of it.
This was the first year that every
grant in a long time.
I don't know the exact year.
No one
in a Grand Slam semifinal plays
a backhand with one hand.
What's that about? It was the first time in forever.
It was Sitzapost was going to have to be a guy
to save it. The one-handed backhand.
Now we're getting deep. Brand. Brand-checked
out of this.
It was the first time, though, guy with a
one-handed backhand did not make it
to a semi-of-a-slam.
We still got it.
NFL 9 NFL football games.
We're talking about one-handed backhand.
It's an interesting deep cut from Ebo, though.
Yeah. I mean, he's the MVP of the weekend,
and you're not going to let him have just like five more minutes.
You did this.
Well, that copy was done minutes ago.
I don't know why we're doing one-handed back hands now.
He was stressing it with the left-handed conversation,
and Martin sniffed that out.
What do you make of 88 of the last 89 major winners being European?
Oh, my God.
We got to a better job in America.
I know.
Who do you think steps up?
If not Ben, then who?
Yeah, but what if it's not an American?
What if it's like a South American or an Asian?
I have an incredible staff for you, actually, since we're on topic.
In the history of the ATP rankings,
no man has won multiple Grand Slams in his season without recording
at least eight top 10 wins during that year.
And this is what y'all do.
Alexander Zverev has two this year.
This is what y'all do?
He has two top 10 wins this season.
He has two Grand Slam titles.
That's crazy.
That makes sense.
That's crazy.
Make it make sense.
Cupcakes.
How did he not know that he won?
My favorite pastry.
Cove.
Did you see?
Okay.
I saw.
I saw.
Connor, you're so full of shit, too.
Yeah.
I was getting done with Wubb.
I always go outside to my truck right after Wubb.
I walked outside right as Wob ended and you're like, oh, look at fat ass going to the pastry truck.
I didn't even buy anything.
We had a Paterstall.
I didn't buy anything.
It was free.
Yeah.
We had a pastry truck.
That was free.
I didn't have a wallet on me
That's why I didn't buy anything
We had a pastry truck that showed up to the office today
I don't know it was free
It's gone
I yeah it's gone
I had pulled in and they
They'd talk to me
They're like hey you know
You just got here
You want to come get a pastry or whatever
And then I get shoved to the side by Brandon
Who came running out of the doors up front
He's like oh I'll be first
Thank you
And then you got there and I took the picture
That's all it was
We want to talk about text messages by the way
It's college football thing
your text messages just got aired out there, by the way.
Yeah, I didn't like that.
What do you mean?
I don't.
I've been a Mississippi State fan for a long time, man.
And when we're going on the road to play a Big Ten team, I'm scared to death.
I'm scared we're going to lose.
And Blutman's gotten on me.
He said, you shouldn't have been scared.
I'm scared we're going to lose South Carolina.
I haven't seen my team have a winning season in five years now.
It's been rough, rough.
So I was scared of death.
And I was turning to a dog.
That's how bad it's been.
Rough, rough.
Fucking,
Peyte texted me last week.
So what do you think?
I said,
I'm texting him.
And I said,
I think,
I think we might lose
or whatever I said.
I've been a state fan for a long time.
I even said it.
I,
I'm scared we're going to lose.
And then he puts that on his fucking show.
I don't,
you can't do you can put you my text message on your show.
Yeah.
I care.
Well,
the idea of putting the text message,
I don't,
I'm not doing like the Connor thing.
I'm like,
don't ever put anyone one step,
whatever.
I,
it's more of the,
I think you're well within your rights to not be confident in a team.
I don't feel good about this one.
And your team wins.
You're allowed to celebrate.
T.J.
I got a text about him hating the busing boys.
Can we put that up?
Is that what he's arguing is that you're not allowed to celebrate the win
because you thought that you had some...
I think so, yeah.
Some pause about how excited you should be going into the game.
He's pouncing because he picked Mr.
mistake.
He predicts him to go four and eight.
And then he's trying to do this thing where he's,
oh, Brendan didn't believe in him.
Anyway, text messages should be text messages, Connor.
Yeah, there's private conversation.
Are you turning into...
Can you hearing that shit out?
He really is.
Holy shit.
Yeah, you're on my side with the Jersey thing.
And by the way, you totally turned on me.
You had an ally for a minute.
You had an ally with the jerseys.
You had, you had, you were there at the finish line and you turned with the gun and shot me.
That's what you did.
I just want to point out the hypochrites in the room, you know?
But I was going to be with you and we were going to be a team.
No.
The who?
Thank you for the happy.
Don't you, don't you think he.
Thank you for the half.
I finagle the second one.
First person in line for a pastry.
buddy ran from the web studio
fake news I didn't even get one says Brandon
but he would have if he
had known it was free. Correct.
What kind of pastries we have
out there? What was the selection? They were just
cupcakes. There was cupcakes, yeah.
Who gets a cupcake at 8 o'clock in the fucking morning?
Ray Walker, first pastry
it comes to mind when I say pastry.
Send a roll. I don't know why.
Okay, hey, guys, focus.
Quasso.
Jacks 34, Browns 10.
Browns apparently not good.
You skipped right over the.
Bears, by the Bears. I thought we talked about it. No, we got to talk about the Bears. Bears 59,
Panthers 37, Caleb Williams, and it's not only, you know, there's the Caleb Williams
where he extends plays and makes a throw and you're like, oh my God, he was in the pocket.
That first touchdown to the tight end, cold commit, maybe one of the first touchdown,
but it was over double coverage and it was perfect throw, perfect cat, perfect everything.
Unbelievable. He looks, he looked legit. Now, Ebo, coming in the season, did we think the Panthers
defense was going to be garbage? We thought it was going to be improved. Like they made some
moves. When I got Jalen Phillips, obviously you have Derek Brown up front as well.
But yeah, that was...
Troubling?
The thing is that, like, I don't even know if I can call it troubling just because, like, I'm a Panthers fan.
Like, we stink. Like, we won the division to 8 and 9 last year.
Like, in my brain and Mark, I guess we talked about us on the podcast last night.
Me and you, you go listen to Panthers a podcast.
If we're going to be bad, at least be bad in like a Big 12 way.
Like early 2010's Big 12 way.
But the other team score 59.
Yeah, like if Bryce Young is throwing bombs to Jalen Koker
and he's running down the sideline and scoring touchdowns and...
That's what I thought Quicks had a good point in the group chat about that.
Yeah.
He's like, I can't believe I'm actually like kind of optimistic about this team even though we lost by 22.
Like if you told you gave up 59 points and you're actually like, I don't feel that bad.
Yeah.
I thought that was a good observation.
Do you remember he sent that screenshot from two years ago in the group chat?
Yeah.
Right seconds.
So where can people listen to the podcast?
It sounds pretty good.
On every platform.
Yeah, yeah.
There are technical difficulties, though, this morning with the podcast.
So if you don't have it, just tweet at Quigs get the podcast up.
Quiggs is in charge of the upload.
Actually, tweet a Big Cat.
Sweet a big cat about a...
Where is the Panthers podcast?
I was on love, so I was just kind of following that from afar, but it was...
It was a lot, huh?
Scorched Earth.
Going through it.
Yeah.
Yeah, the Bears are...
Bears are good. Bears are really, really good.
Defense has some stuff to work on, but I do think the Bears fans around here.
I haven't remnant any yet.
I'm sure we will at some point today.
I'm sure at some point I'm going to have to walk out that door and run into the Bears fans.
I imagine they're bouncing off the walls.
I imagine they are on cloud nine, and rightfully so.
It is weird, though, to see, it is weird to see the Chicago Bears offense light up a scoreboard
and their defense be terrible.
Like that is breaking my brain a little bit.
But it's only week one, so they have time.
They're running the shit out of the football, dude.
They've run to the Bears we all know.
Yeah.
Shout Rutgers.
Stock up Rutgers football after that game.
We're back, guys.
Highest scoring week one in the history of the national football.
Crazy.
53 and a third, 53.3 points to game.
Highest scoring week one.
43% of snaps taken under center of the highest rate since 2017.
Week 17.
That was interesting.
So people are going bigger now.
More tight ends.
More closer to the line of scrimmage?
It's not even that.
It's just like being under center is like.
Why?
Obviously there's more play action more.
Yeah.
It's a lot of a game theory where it's just like pass out of a run set.
It's like just just be a little unexpected like misdirection stuff like that.
And also like you said like people tried forever to play cover or playing cover two to get rid of like basically the air raid and Patrick Mahomes and everything.
Yeah.
So they're like if you're going to play two deep safety, it's like we'll run the fucking football through your face.
Yeah.
It is like the defense is a job.
to the air raid and then now, I mean, I don't mean to rehash everything we talked about last night,
but the defense adjust to the air raid.
So now is there an opportunity for the offense to, I mean, it's kind of what people talk about basketball.
Like, is there a back to the basket center?
Could that be the wrinkle now?
Do we need to go back to like trying to find a shack?
I don't know.
That's why the Jaguars drafted a pure blocking tight end at like pick 55,
which was seen as a complete reach and probably was.
And the guy's not going to catch many passes at all in this league.
they just drafted a big-time blocker for 12 personnel.
It's crazy.
The Giants were just bringing those big-ass blockers in.
Yeah, I loved why I grew up.
You ate that that fast?
That's one of the best cupcakes ever had in my life.
It was a great cupcake.
That wasn't like a-
Mark, that was such a good.
When you said you wanted a cupcake, I thought it was like, well, it's worth for.
I was hate on a cupcake.
What an elite cupcake that was.
Holy shit.
You want another one?
God damn.
I mean, if another one appeared, I wouldn't, I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers.
Lions 31 Saints 30
What?
You just love your cracker
analogies.
Yeah, I'm murdered.
Lions 31 Saints 30
for a team that has
designs on a big playoff run and winning the
NFC North, 3,130 over the Saints
and letting them back in the game a little troubling.
Actually, I'm going to skip to a game
because the weirdest game I've ever seen in my life yesterday
was Packers Vikings.
Yeah.
Kyle Murray throws a terrible pick early, gets hurt, ends up going out of the game.
Carson Wentz comes in, isn't very good, ends up throwing for 123 yards.
They're down 22 to 10 late in the third quarter.
They score the last 29 points of the game via turnovers.
Some Packers fans will tell you via officials.
They won a game by 17 despite having their ass kick for three quarters.
The Packers made the field goal to go up, what was it, nine?
Yeah.
25, right?
Yeah.
And they took it off.
And they took it off the board to go for it on a sneak with Jordan Love, no push.
Like, I don't know, like Jordan Love's not a big guy.
He's quite slim, I'd say, for a quarterback to try to push with him.
It's kind of crazy.
And then, like you said, they drive down the field.
There's a lot of ticky, tacky penalties, maybe whatever.
And then the Packers just all time, it's the worst pissed down your leg, fourth quarter of the weekend.
And that's not an exaggeration.
I'm, but it's becoming a thing for.
of them. They've now lost, what, five in a row, six in a row,
and they've had a double-digit leads
and three of them. They have a knack for it. Not the biggest
of the weekend. Dude, I think that did you...
Of the weekend? Of the weekend.
Really? It wasn't even like a... Yours
was a bigger choke because you had the 20-point lead.
Theirs was like, they
came out and there was a three straight
plays where Jordan Love just like got
obliterated and they had to punt the
ball back and then, yeah.
And they also gave up to come back to a backup
quarterback. It's Mania.
Yeah.
Shout out.
Is that how we found out
JJ wasn't the backup?
That's how Jack
That's how Jack Mac did.
Okay.
I think I think the people that
They kind of knew.
Pay attention, no.
But Jack Mack tweet out,
it's nine times.
Career's tweets
I think Greer tweeted
I have never received more texts in my life.
Yeah.
I got Greer up on the phone.
The guy who's been getting lit up
apparently on the text messages
is Malicek over the
Justin Herbert's performance.
Yeah.
Because he was shitting all over Drake May on Thursday night.
They're the most disappointing team in the league right now, right?
The Chargers?
I mean, that was, that was.
Have to be.
Have to be.
Yeah.
Bengals 33, Bucks 27.
Bucks turned the ball over four times.
It's crazy.
Let's see.
Vikings 39.
Bucks, uh, I saw, I saw a stat somewhere.
Bucks have been sneaky ass for a little while.
Mm-hmm.
Now we're only one weekend of this season, but like the last season they were not good.
Stupid fumbles, too.
The bucks, uh.
They shouldn't have
Bulls.
No.
The Bucks like kind of have, at least how I perceive the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is like I give
them the benefit of the doubt and they play in like a terrible division.
So you always just kind of assume that like.
Well, they're the most dominant team of the first half of this decade.
Right.
I assume they're a well-run organization and they're always going to like find way to win games
and whatever.
And they have not been good for a little while now.
No.
I think I'm obsessed with Josh Allen.
Baker.
All-time leading touchdown score, rushing touchdown.
ever since you said it, I never thought about it.
And ever since you said it, I just keep thinking about it.
Yeah.
Not to, I mean, it just reminded me, when I saw that, it just kind of reminded me
of those, like, LeBron stats where, like, you don't really think of him as like a,
I think the three point is the LeBron stat.
We're like, LeBron is like top 10 all-time made threes, right, isn't that?
Do I have that right?
Yeah, he's like, some of these stats.
Fourth, right?
Yeah, some of these stats where you're just like, wait, I thought LeBron wasn't even good at that.
And he's, that's how I felt with Josh Allen when I saw that.
I got it.
Now I got to do a.
Ron
Steve
Because he's
Sixth all time
Over one?
Yeah
That's three points
I had a similar
reaction to Josh Allen
As I did to
Do you remember
You remember seeing
Warren Jabali
Just killing threes
In the ABA
Unbelievable
Glenn Combs from the corner
Yep
What a
What a shooter
Five of the top six
Still being active
Right now
It's pretty crazy
Yeah
Well that's that's
That's just the
Modern Age
It's the modern age man
That's how basketball is.
What are you going to fucking do?
I have a bone to pick with all you guys, especially you, Ebo.
Cool.
I'll fucking cut you.
The Oakland, Los Angeles Raiders
who play in neither one of those cities.
They beat the Dolphins.
I watched like three seconds of that game.
I turned it on just in time to see Ashton Jenty score a touchdown,
and he goes and celebrates with his offensive lineman,
and I learned in that moment that Ashton Jenty is 5'1.
I had no idea.
I thought Ashton Jinty was like,
I thought this entire time Ashton Jinty was like,
I thought this entire time,
Master Jintz he was like, damn near Derek Henry.
No.
Why?
Why have you not been like putting him on a pedestal as a short king?
He's a five, he's a five nine short king, which is actually pretty tall.
I had no idea.
Pretty tall.
I didn't know it was this short either.
And I guess like it's like a little obvious, I guess.
Like in college you're five foot eight, two hundred eight pounds.
In college you're going, you're around guys that are smaller than the NFL players, I guess.
I mean, NFL offensive linemen are freak shows.
Fucking massive.
But I, uh, yeah, the linemen come over to celebrate with them.
And I was like, well, I'll be Dan.
I had no idea.
In my head, he was always like 6-1, at least.
Because he, because the menacing pose in the back field stands.
I think that's what it is. I think that's what it is.
He's a very, he has a menacing pose.
He's the tallest 5-8 guy I've ever seen in my life.
Um, Ashton Jet-Tee.
Thoughts on Madison beer in the suite?
Do you have thoughts?
I, I, I approved of it.
I thought it was, I enjoyed it.
You're the, you're the one that's got bad tape out there.
What do I have bad tape about?
Am I right?
Am I right?
Yeah.
I think I got bad tape on beer?
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
You got her red tape.
You got her.
So I think the last.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
Last football medicine.
Or last summer.
That's not, no.
I've never called anybody mid.
No.
No, this is exactly what happened.
We pulled her up because it was like a rumor that they were dating.
And we're all like, yeah, Matt, Sabir, you're like, I've never heard of her.
Is she one of your teeny boppers, Connor?
And we pulled her up.
You go, huh?
Then you, and then you.
No.
Can I say some?
I'm going to throw down.
I'm challenge challenge hat.
No.
That didn't happen.
Then you said, bro, is she chuzz?
I threw my challenge hat.
happened. You commented on our lips and said you didn't like them.
What are you doing? I just called you the MVP of the weekend.
I have to be honest and real. The challenge flag is out. You guys have to prove beyond a reasonable
doubt that this happened because I, I, I, in conclusive evidence. The tape is out there.
The tape is out there. I don't think it's out there. I never would have said that, that,
that goddess in that suite yesterday, that absolute goddess? Not even wearing football glasses.
And she still look like that. That goddess. Do you think?
think there will be a
limit to the Madison beer cutaways
that the football view in public
will be able to tolerate.
Well, it's going to go the other way,
because when Taylor Swift and Kelsey happened,
the first year they won a Super Bowl, right?
That's true.
He just lost to the Cardinals.
It's going to go the,
it's going to be like, what's wrong with Justin Herbert?
Oh, it's her.
If that hasn't already happened.
But do you think people will get sick of the cutaways?
Because I have my prediction,
and this is just my prediction.
Yeah.
My prediction is the men who are losing their mind about seeing Taylor Swift all the time.
I don't think they're going to have a problem with Seattle.
I certainly don't have.
I think the people that are like, we're here to watch football.
Get her off the fucking screen.
I have a feeling those guys.
Yeah.
They're not going to care quite as much.
That's my prediction.
That was kind of half the narrative with Taylor Swift getting shown all the time.
It was like, we're here to watch football, get her off the street.
They did show her too much.
And I didn't watch the game yesterday.
very closely.
I assume they showed her a lot.
I hear.
Huh?
Beer, yeah.
Not, I mean.
The main thing,
there wasn't a lot of highlights.
So like,
yeah.
True.
Are they,
are they making jokes and thinking like they're,
you know,
oh,
it looks like Justin Herbert's going to have some beer
after this game.
Like,
that's what they were doing with Taylor Swift,
where they were like trying to work in.
They would do like a lot of like song puns.
All the puns.
People don't know any of Madison beer.
So he's going to spend,
I'm his girlfriend and drink some,
drink some alcoholic beverages.
That seems fine.
What's wrong with that?
No, no, no, but I'm saying they made a big point of it with Taylor Swift.
Not only would they show her on the broadcast, but the announcers would also be buttoning in with them.
Rocky Beers is unbelievable name.
We were in position for him to be the hero on Saturday, and it was going to be amazing.
Is it better that he is the good football player, or would it be better if Rowdy Beers' his brother was the good football player?
What if both?
I'm like the little Asian girl.
Would you rather?
I can't remember.
Asian, but she is.
is Mexican.
Rowdy beers is more fun.
Rocky beers.
It might not be a good thing, actually.
Rocky beers.
Okay.
What is Rocky beer?
We're going to go out.
I just picture hanging out on a fucking mountain.
Friday night, me and the boys
were going to go out and have some rocky beers.
You want to come?
What are you picturing that to be?
We go up to like a cliff and we pull all the trucks and we have a fire and
we're sitting on the edge of a cliff.
All right.
And we're drinking beers.
The scenery is the rocky.
Correct, yes.
The beers themselves not Rocky.
What's rowdy beers?
Just throwing down?
Yeah, just hammering beers.
It's having a good time.
Then what do you make of it if you're Reagan beers and you didn't get like a sick name like that?
There's a, there's, she played basketball at Oregon State.
Trickle down beers.
You drink your beers.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's what a Reagan beer being.
The 47 year old got it.
The rest of the room.
was like, what the fuck does that mean?
Connor's Googling.
No, I'm trying to find the tape of Brandon talking about Madison.
Guys, doesn't exist.
I think the MVP in the NFL right now is Josh Allen.
I think I'm going to do this.
I think I might do that all season.
Update who the MVP, who should the MVP should have been?
I think it's Josh Allen for me, Brenner.
Not Caleb Williams.
I think my top three is Josh Allen, Caleb Williams.
Lamar Jackson?
Probably Lamar Jackson.
Yeah, it's probably that.
Now, you do have a game tonight?
Do you see Patrick Mahomes or?
and Orvo next joining the group.
Hmm.
I have a 35 point lead over Jersey Jerry
and the SAS Fantasy League
and he's got Patrick Mahomes.
Oh, really?
And I just see Patrick Mahomes
maybe throwing four touchdown passes tonight.
Is there a world where the Chiefs
can lose this game and you can still be bullish
on the Chiefs and the idea that Mahomes
is back to be in Mahomes?
I think so.
I think if they were to lose 28, 27 or something like that
and he looks, as long as he looks good
and they have a couple of explosive plays down the field,
the Broncos are going to be really good.
Broncos are a hell of a football team.
It's like the Cowboys last night.
Like on Love today, everybody was lining up to throw the Cowboys out as a contender.
Like they lost on the road to a team that looks all of a sudden pretty good.
Like they got their shit put together.
Like, I don't think the Cowboys are, we have to overreact on them.
And if the Chiefs were to lose in decent fashion tonight, now, now if they lose 383.
Sure.
And he looks like he's a statue out there.
We got an issue.
But I don't anticipate that.
So of the O and one teams that we have right now, I guess the Rams is
probably going to be your answer, but it doesn't have to be. Of the O-N-1 teams, who do you look at and
say they're fine? They're going to be fine. I actually don't think it's the Rams. I mean, Miles
Garrett's already hurt. Their problem was they're old. It looks, you know, Stafford could go from
great to wash in a heartbeat because he's 38 years old. I don't think it's the Rams. They also
play in a tough division. They'll have to play the Niners again. They'll play the Seahawks twice.
I think it is the Cowboys. I think Cowboys will play the Giants again in Dallas later on. They'll
beat them and that'll be a split but I think the Cowboys will uh will be just fine their
defense is what was the problem last night their offense wasn't sharp I I'm I believed in
them before the season I don't last night didn't change anything for me mine's probably the Texans
Texas started 0 and 3 last year yeah I think that's the Texans it really I mean Texans is
purely C.J. Stroud it's just how how ass is C.J. And he wasn't he wasn't that ass I don't
feel he's that bad I think he was he was he was good
enough to win that game. And my proof
would be that if they simply catch the interception
they win that game. And
CJ Stroud, another new of that, but he could have
been better, surely. Yeah.
I don't know, any of it, Packers, maybe.
Am I alone in this? Does anybody else in this
room just enjoy football?
I'm glad you said it, Brandon, because I, one of my
frustrations is how I have to
like tiptoe around that. Sure.
I fucking live my life, pretending like I don't, but
really deep down. Unlike these other shows
here, Barstle, we like football
here. Yeah. We really
enjoy football. Connor, you like football? I dig it
hard. What are you watching? Oh, yeah. So I found the
Brandon tape of him talking about Madison Beer. It just so happens to be the same
episode right after Penn State lost Oregon last year. And you were wearing the
fucking white tuxedo suit with a hat and everything. By the way, I was going to ask
you, you guys lost on Saturday not to bring it back up. Did you have the
McDonald's breakfast on Saturday? No, I didn't.
See, we got to get back in the season. On Friday, I was telling you my
my fan muscles aren't warmed up yet.
You gotta get sharp, man.
I told you.
That's why I was unsure of how to feel about the game.
I'm not,
I'm not in fan mode yet.
I did.
What's the timestamp on that?
But it did,
113, 113, 113, 1.13?
Boy, I'm in fan mode now.
So you guys are just going to spend the rest of the show trying to make me look bad.
Is that what you're trying to?
You called the challenge.
Yeah, you said provide tape.
112.
All right, here we go.
Here we go.
Let's watch the tape.
Is that the worst photo she's ever taken?
Or?
Let's keep it.
Let's keep them moving.
Whoa.
It's a legit question.
You're going to end up on the wrong.
What was I where?
Brain, you're going to end up on some bad takes right here.
All right.
Be careful.
Let's save you for me.
Be careful, Brandon.
Beautiful young lady.
No, I've seen her beautiful.
Do you like women?
Yeah.
Okay.
I thought that picture was.
I can do I have a bad angle?
Yeah.
She's got the lip bite.
All right.
She's a hot girl wearing glasses.
Yeah.
She's doing the thing where she's like, I'm trying my hardest to not look good because I'm going to put these glasses on, but it just makes me hotter.
We're all dumbfounded.
I don't think I'm being overly horny.
You got to wear that suit more, man.
You wrote it down on a piece of paper.
Okay, pull the picture back up.
Pull the picture back up.
I got to see some new information has come across my door.
desk that I would like to
So I'll say it for Brandon because he's already digging himself
Wait no no I didn't say you that I asked a question really quick yeah is it related to puffs
No okay no huh I don't know did I say it right let's move on
Let's move on I think I think it's more of what's going on above the glasses that that is being
She has Connor Griffin's eyebrows
Oh
Oh
wrong.
No way.
Conner's.
No way.
Connor, you.
Did you.
Did you.
Die those yourself?
Oh.
Disgusting.
What if I'm talking about?
It wasn't true.
It's just not the case.
I think I won that challenge.
You're just wrong.
You said she was ugly.
You said I called her man.
No, you've grown.
You're like,
ugh.
Is that the fucking best picture we could have gotten of the hot girl in glasses
biting her lip?
Oh.
But man, who won that challenge?
The challenge feels like a complete draw.
It feels like that is terrible.
The conclusive video evidence.
I thought the lip thing I remembered, I thought that was a you thing.
That was a tightest thing.
What?
The eyebrows I completely forgot.
I forgot about that one too.
Can I say something in my defense?
That was probably very close to the origin of Conner's eyebrows.
Yeah.
But it had to be right around when you first did your, your,
your thing.
So they were a few months
They were top of mind.
A few months after.
All right.
Two more football things quickly.
The Akron OC, uh, fumble.
Uh, that drive.
The OC driving it with a fumble.
Well,
more on the turn fumbles off.
Yeah.
Should have taught the team ball security a little bit better.
And also, um,
the biggest loser this weekend in the sport of football.
We have not talked about yet.
And I'm going to do so quickly.
It is the Avon Orioles.
Got their fucking dicks kicked in by
Brownsburg once again. The rivalry is officially dead, Brandon. The dogs are just too good.
We're up 49-0-0. We put the J-B-T team in. First of all. 49-nothing, Brandon. And A-Woners
ranked like fifth or sixth, I think, in the state. Pretty pathetic that you're clinging to high
school football. It's high school football, dude. Nobody cares. Be true to your school. Beach
Boy said that. Also, how's West Point doing? First time in two decades, we've got a little rebuilding
year here. New coach. Owen, we're off to an Owen three start. We do play the toughest schedule in the
entire state of Mississippi. We played Knoxby County. You know who Knoxby County is produced?
Camario Taylor. So suck on that.
What happened to the coach? First time. Huh?
What happened to the coach? He went to Starfle last year. I think there's a given take.
What? I'm still pissed at him. Yeah. There's a given take,
Brandon. You want Mississippi State to be good. West Point has to take a step back, I think.
I'm willing to make that trade. It's been long enough. I'm willing to make that.
You can't have your high school and college be both really, except when I won championships
in the same year a couple years ago. But other than that, like it's very rare.
We got a grid or something?
Very rare.
Oh, this is easy.
Mm-hmm.
So then you want to just do it yourself?
All right, Connor.
Your time to shine here.
All right.
All right.
Conniple, right?
Shaq.
Yeah, canipple.
Oh, Shaq.
Palo.
Palo Caniple and...
Wait.
Probably Tatum.
Time.
Do Palo have a thing where he didn't play his rookie year?
Is that somebody else?
But no.
I thought he was rookie of the year, wasn't he?
Is your rookie year?
I don't remember rookie of the year, by the way.
That was so important to me when I was young,
and now I just don't remember who wins that thing.
I think concanipal middle right is the easiest one on the board.
That's right.
Yeah, concanipple middle right.
Might be lamello, though.
Yeah, it might be lamello, though.
Okay, all right, well, don't do it.
It might actually be lamello, but it's got to be concanip.
Go.
It's going to be concanip.
Boy, oh, boy, that sucks.
That sucks.
That's off.
It's a bad start.
That was the easiest one?
That's that
Well, what's the easiest one on the fucking
Ray Allen top left?
Yeah, Ray Allen top left.
Then why didn't you fucking say Ray Allen top left?
Because you said this is so easy.
I got this.
That's not great either.
I don't think that's good either.
Guy on the Celtics right before Ray Allen got it.
Six for Celtics go.
Jalen Brown hadn't played a game yet.
There's Al Horford.
Al Horford feels good.
Al Horford feels good, but
um...
Our rookie team got to be taken.
I think it's Tatum and Palo.
Tatum and Palo. Let's do that.
Now, 12% could be okay.
We did full Duke on the right.
Yeah.
All right, all right, all right.
Six or magic.
Reddick, Reddick bottom middle, Sixer Magic?
Oh.
Well, there's Dwight Howard, too.
Dwight Howard could apply to Hornets or magic, though.
Dwight Howard.
Which one?
Oh.
Is there...
Could you do like Batum middle?
Was Batum a Sixer?
Yes.
Why the fuck Batumann?
Fourth quarter screaming, why the fuck Baton?
The Bucks and Magic.
Oh, Markell Fultz.
Markle Foltz, dude.
You could put Dwight Howard for Hornets.
All right, bottom middle, Markle Fultz.
Is that what we're saying?
Yeah, yeah, I'm fine with that.
And then middle, middle, Dwight Howard.
All right, all right.
It's going to be Lamello.
I think Horford.
I think Lamello on the right is going to be the only one.
We're going to get every other square.
I think Horford's right.
I like Horford in the middle.
middle or for middle top or anything else
Connor no yeah it would be jalen brown
but he hasn't played a game yet
there we go oh this is
this is such an is smith
yeah
magic box is
oh DJ Augustine
DJ Augustine oh it's got to be
he's for both too right
he's not like PJ Tucker
well he was
ah yeah actually
hold it is that Bobcats also
yeah it's bobcats so we have a double
Augustine.
The relocation of the team.
Is there Brook Lopez in here somewhere?
Is Etouin Moore?
Is it Etouin Moore?
Is that too obvious?
Is it...
That's your Hoosier coming out, Mark.
Is...
No.
Is...
Box Magic?
Has to be.
It has to be.
Brandon Jennings.
Brandon Jennings.
I'm not a need a cameraman for next week
when I play Brandon Jennings and golf.
You might need two cameras.
20 second.
I got a DMM today.
Where else did Chris Middle?
Oh, Buck's magic could be JJ Reddick, right?
Bucks.
I just don't know how popular an answer
JJ Reddick is.
All right, what are we working on?
Is anybody working on this?
Did they ever be everybody give up?
J. Augustin.
We just got to figure out which would be better to play.
I think it is.
It sucks.
Just try.
What's, what's, just try.
For a way to place?
Yeah, okay, just try.
Why don't you do Augustine and then Redick?
Just do it.
Somebody do it.
Tell me.
Is that what you want to do?
Just try.
Did everybody just give up without saying?
No, I could only think of argument.
That's not fair.
He texted the whole room.
I ain't text at once.
You told me to look at my text.
Where else is Chris Middleton?
We're still in this, boys.
We're still in this.
Somebody make a move.
Chris Middleton is with Washington right now.
Was he anywhere else?
Wizards.
He's not,
Chris Melton's not the answer here.
No Chris Middleton.
You,
DJ Tucker?
Jamir Nelson.
Connor,
play him, go.
DJ Augustine,
Hornet.
There's no Teague, right?
No Teague?
No Teague.
No Teak.
No. Hornet Buck, I think, is the best play for DJ Augustine.
Hornet Buck.
If,
anybody seen a white guy for Buck Magic?
Reddick, dude.
Oh, fuck.
It's Reddick.
Does that say 4%?
Reddick?
Do Reddick.
