Starting point is 00:00:00 Bar, stool, sports Hayden, Brandon Walker Mostly sports Oh, I got a spot for us, you know I got a spot. Sports presented by Modelo, I'm Mark Titus.
Starting point is 00:00:31 He is Brandon Walker. It's Thursday, September 17. Happy birthday to, I'm going to say Wanda Sykes. Really? Wow.
Starting point is 00:00:45 I want to say happy birthday to Wanda Sykes. I want to say happy birthday. Are you guessing? Yeah, it's a guess. I'm going to say happy birthday to Captain Kangaroo. Now, that's not a guess. I could tell you know that.
Starting point is 00:00:55 No, that's a guess. I can tell that you know that. You want to wish anyone to happy birthday, Connor? Connor. Do you want somebody a happy birthday? Just take a guess. Happy birthday to, um, Martha Stewart.
Starting point is 00:01:06 We just talked about her yesterday. That's not very, yeah, and she didn't receive her proper flowers, so I wanted to say happy birthday. Ebo? Uh, Keenan Thompson, happy birthday. Oh, that actually could be. That's a good poll.
Starting point is 00:01:17 That's a good poll. We are live from Chicago. We are brought to you by Modello. This crisp, smooth modello is for the traditions that make college football Saturday sacred. You know, like tailgating. Tailgating with your tent, your TV, and your babes. That Modello poured into the marinade that makes your tailgate dish legendary. That Modelo tallboy that pairs perfectly with your lucky jersey and that ice cold Modelo held high as you belt out the fight song.
Starting point is 00:01:44 You know entirely by heart. It's not just game day. It's tradition. and those who keep it alive deserve a Modelo. Modelo, the official beer sponsor of the college football playoff and of mostly sports.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Drink responsibly. Beer imported by Crown imports, Chicago, Illinois. Stock up now, Modelo. What do you want to talk about, Brandon? I heard you get on Ebo for the lack of Pete Crow Armstrong. Yeah, not a nary mention of PCA.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Guess what, Mark? Control F this prep sheet. Guess what? Sometimes I come in with my own prep sheet. Yeah. Sometimes I come in knowing that Ebo is going to drop the ball. and knowing that he's not, and I do have PCA at the top of my mind, because now we're talking about the MVP's over.
Starting point is 00:02:24 It's done. He has won the National League MVP. Congratulations to him. Might be unanimous at this point. That's how good he is. 44 home runs. I don't know if he's got the 40 steals yet. I assume he's going to destroy his legs to try to get it over the next week and a half. He keeps hitting home runs, Brandon. He can't get on base? He gets two home runs and a triple last night. Should have stopped.
Starting point is 00:02:45 That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah, because 46-39 would be an awful season. Terrible. Yeah. Terrible. It would be embarrassing. He's three steals away from one of the greatest seasons,
Starting point is 00:02:57 but unfortunately he's just not there yet. Since the year 2000. In the year 2000. Remember those? Yeah. Anyway, there have been nine players with a 10 war season. 10 wins above replacement. Huh?
Starting point is 00:03:17 All right. B war or F war? Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I just looked up war. And which one's B-Wor and which one's F-Wor? Baseball reference is B-WR F-WR is fantastic.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Well, I looked it up on baseball. I don't know what I did. Anyway, it's a 10-war season. Ten war. Nine, it has happened, I believe, like 13 times, but nine guys have done it. Since 2000. Since 2000. Can I guess?
Starting point is 00:03:37 And you, well, that's what we're here for. Is that what we're doing? Would you like to guess the nine players? And now I do have pitchers here, too. There's six position players, three pitchers, I believe. There are three pitchers. That's a good note, Brandon. Good note.
Starting point is 00:03:47 I forget about pitchers. Pitchers are players too. I forget that. Give me Barry Bond. That is correct. He did it according to this one, what I looked up three times. Three times. 2001, 2002, 2004.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Now, I'm going to have to believe that Shohay Otani's on that list. Yeah, you're probably right. I'm going to have to list. I looked up didn't have him. Really? That's, that's. Is Otani not a time? Let me look, because I'm looking at baseball reference because they might not do
Starting point is 00:04:15 like a combined war thing in the Oh, the pitchers and, yeah, I have to believe. But also he might not, he might not. Really?
Starting point is 00:04:21 Either, yeah, he might have just be a nine. Well, look. Really? How about that? Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:25 So I'm, I might have been wrong out of the gate. We'll look that up. Mike Trout, surely. Mike Trout, surely.
Starting point is 00:04:31 What I have seen, yes, yes. Um, a couple more obvious ones. I think you can grab real quick. Just grab them off the top shelf there. Well, I mean,
Starting point is 00:04:42 obvious to me, it would be like Miguel Cabrera. Sure. Well, no, that obvious. So that's why I'm not going to say that. Yeah. I don't want you to say Miguel Cabr. I'm not going to say Miguel Cabrere, but that's why when you say obvious, I said, hang on a second, because Miguel Cabrera comes to mind. Like Albert Poole's comes to mind. That's not
Starting point is 00:04:56 that's not on the list either. So, so tiny in 2022 combined war, 9.7, 2023, 9.9, 24, 9, that's, that's crazy. That's disgusting. That's crazy. That might be a broken staff. That's very stupid. Yeah. Sammy Sosa. Sammy Sosa, yes. Early 2000. 2001. 2001 Samos. Griffey? No, not in the 2000s. He might have done in the 90s, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Alex Rodriguez. That's correct. Alex Rodriguez. I forgot about him. He played right. He was pretty good. He was really good. You have two more position players in all three pitchers.
Starting point is 00:05:34 Aaron Judge has to be on there. Aaron Judge has to do it twice, 2022 and 2024. We broke into our college football covers to see him bapped. So pitchers, Mark, it's really important to eat innings. So guys that are going like seven and eight innings in games. They are all starting pitchers. Starting pitchers going seven and eight. You've got one more position player.
Starting point is 00:05:52 They like to eat. Eating and eats. Connor, just try to fix your headphones? No, I'm doing this out of protest. I'm going to say, I'm going to say Max Scherzerzer. Is incorrect. Protest for what? I'm going to say.
Starting point is 00:06:08 No, I don't want to ruin Mark's exercise. I'm not exercising. I'm drinking coffee. Just sitting here. It's a very easy. fix. They break so easily. No, Mark's in the middle of he's on a roll right now. You're distracting me, Connor.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Yes, but you're not the one doing the exercises, Mark. I'm leading the exercise, Conn't. I want Mark to get on a roll. I'm going to say Justin Verlander. That's incorrect. I want to say, huh. Did you see the AI?
Starting point is 00:06:38 Kirshaw. No. Did you see the AI images of our tailkates? Oh my God. That was fine. That was fine. Oh, my God. Thank God. You guys got Medello because we just dog walked you. You had nothing up. Show me Pedro Martinez.
Starting point is 00:06:51 That is correct. That's correct. I think guys that are good at pitching. I believe he has been doing. Did I not said good pitchers? What the fuck? Madison Bumgarner. No.
Starting point is 00:07:05 There is one. Randy Johnson. I'm not good. So what I'm learning is that like all of, did this all happen in like 2000? All right. This next picture, the last pitcher is 2009. The last position player is 2008. Jose Altuve.
Starting point is 00:07:22 That is incorrect. Oh, Mookie Betts. That is correct. What about... The pitcher's tough. This is a... 2009 pitcher. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:33 That's got to be. Are we talking... Yeah, we sure are. Are we talking Cole Hamels? No. Are we talking... No. The next one...
Starting point is 00:07:42 Here, you got it. Roy Holiday. No. Are we talking... Is it a Philly? Is it a Philly? The way you made a face made me think it was... It's not a Philly. Is it a fattie?
Starting point is 00:07:51 Is it a fattie? Not a fattie. No. Not a Philly or a fatty. It's a good game. It's not... It's not a Met. He's been a lot of things. It's not... There's no way. Say it. 2009 pitcher can only be one man. Yeah, say it. Go ahead, Connor. Bring us home.
Starting point is 00:08:12 CC? Oh, that's why I asked if it's a fatty. It's not a fatty. Oh. In 2009. I was pitching in two That's 2009. I'm sitting down to watch a baseball game.
Starting point is 00:08:25 AJ Burnett. And I'm watching. Mm-hmm. Is it motherfucking granky? Is it motherfucking granky? Is it? I, he tuned out of that. Fucking.
Starting point is 00:08:37 Oh, it's Tim Lincolum. Is it? Is it? In 2009, Zach Grinky. It's granky? It's motherfucking grinky? Had a 2.14 ERA.
Starting point is 00:08:50 2.16. had a 10.4 war. He was 16 and 8. How? He started 33. I'm trying to figure out how, because this seems like a fine season, but was this season,
Starting point is 00:09:02 what made this a 10? Zach Granky has had a 10 war season, and Shohei Otani has not. That is correct. That's what we've learned today. Yes. It might have been because of the run scoring environment being a little higher as a,
Starting point is 00:09:14 his pitching. As opposed to the rest of baseball, he was. That season, yes, compared to it. But could it also be the worst? sucks. Can you consider that, Evo? But, okay. Can 1% of the stat nerd in you'd be like,
Starting point is 00:09:28 what if war is bad? What is it good for? I just want to go on the record. War is bad, but this war is not all... You've seen war the stat... The baseball stat needs zero tweaking.
Starting point is 00:09:44 They've figured it out. There's a very... There's a very famous quote that I would leave you. with it when you go and take statistics classes, economics classes. We just started the show. All models are wrong. Yeah, I raise my hand.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Y'all are taking this the wrong direction. All models are wrong, but some are useful. Y'all are taking this to wrong directions. The only reason we did that exercise is to highlight this season by PCA. Yeah. Is one of the very, very, very, very, very elite since in this century. Right. It might
Starting point is 00:10:15 be in the discussion for the best if robotic Barry Bonds did not exist. Right. Robot Barry Bonds did exist, so it kind of ruined everything. But, like, PCA with the defense, with the 44 home runs, with all the triples, the doubles, the extra base hits, the everythings. This is one of the finest seasons a baseball player has turned in the last 25 years. That's right. Those are just facts.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Short list. Those are just facts. They short list. He's unbelievable. Now, Mark, you're a Cubs fan. Yeah, right. When you got PCA and he showed a little promise early on. and you said and I said in your wildest dreams what does PCA turn into isn't this past that
Starting point is 00:10:54 well past that okay well past that in fact I at the start of the year I remember we were doing our little baseball preview talk I was worried PCA was gonna not be that good I was worried that he was going to swing at too many pitches in the dirt that he was a little because last year he got off that huge start right kind of just kind of was average second half of last season was he wasn't terrible but it was just like the huge start and then just kind of slowly descendant. I was like, man, are we going to see the second half continue in the other year? Not the case, Brandon. He actually kind of did get off to a slow
Starting point is 00:11:24 start, to be honest, this year. He's, Mark, he's Willie Mays. There was Willie Mays. He's unbelievable. Insane dunking on going on by White Sox fans, like mid-April, into Memorial Day even almost. Yeah. Being like, PCA is worse than Colson Montgomery. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:40 PCA is worse in... White Sox fans are let's be honest. They're stupid. They're fucking stupid. They're really, really stupid. I will say the jump he made at the plate in terms of swing discipline is so otherworldly. Because he was a good hitter. He just chased a lot, like you said, balls in the dirt, excellent defender, had a lot of pop. And then just one day in May, he stopped swinging at balls.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Yeah. I think the rumor, the scuttle butt, I guess we should ask Taylor McGregor, this is Alex Bregman is the veteran leader helping PCA out. You bring it Alex Bregman and he's like, hey, hey, stop swinging at the ones that are not in the zone. He's like, that's a good tip, Alex. That's a good tip. I should just swing at the strikes. And then he started swinging at the strikes. Although last night his second homer was a little low
Starting point is 00:12:27 and he went and got it. You can't see the left side of Conner. I can't see. I don't understand what. It's distracting me. Why are you doing this? I don't know. Somebody, I think, slept on this couch overnight
Starting point is 00:12:36 and threw the headphones and broke the fucking headphones. No, don't do it, Brandon. Watch this. Watch this. See that? See that? Do you see, Connor? See this?
Starting point is 00:12:50 See how easy it is? See how hard that it? No, we have two broken headphones. Okay, there we go. Fucking fix them. I guess I could. Should we just don't go Connor style for the rest of the show? The question is not whether I could fix the headphones.
Starting point is 00:13:03 It's just that wire were the headphones broken in the first place. Probably because I slept there and I tossed them off to the side and they broke. They snapped. I think we're going to be okay. I think this is preposterous look at me from Connor Griffin. I don't know. Did you break it, though? I might have.
Starting point is 00:13:17 I don't know. Who else would have broken? I could have broken yesterday. Who knows? I got it. It's fine. Unbelievable. Selfish.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Look at me podcasting right there. That's what that is. But the podcasters listening at home. My headphones were broken. How important it is... Are there a podcasters
Starting point is 00:13:37 listening at home? How important is PCA getting to 40, 40 for you? If he finishes with 38, 39... It's ridiculously kind of stupidly important. I don't know... It weirdly matters a lot. I live through Jose,
Starting point is 00:13:51 and Seiko doing it for the first time in 1988 and you would have thought he cured cancer, AIDS, and figured out some sort of endless power situation, like endless energy. That's how he was treated when he did 40, 40. Now, there were players before him said, yeah, I could have done that.
Starting point is 00:14:07 I just never even thought about it. But for whatever reason, when Jose did that for the first time, and my hair looks awful, when Jose did that for the first time, that number just stuck with everybody. Yeah. Now that 50-50 happened. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Shouldn't we be demanding our superstars get to 50-50? 40-40 not matter as much. And yet... It's still so cool. Now that he's knocking on the door. I do think the fact that it steals makes you think that it matters. Like, he's got to get to it. Like, if he had, if he had like 35 homers and he came up a little short,
Starting point is 00:14:36 I don't know how disappointed I'd be, you know, but if he doesn't, if he doesn't get three more steals to end the season, he'll get him. He's got to get him. He might steal three in the last game if he has to. Why do some stats... It's just one of those shows, I guess. How are you looking, Ebo? Why do some stats carry numbers, Ebo?
Starting point is 00:15:01 What I mean by that is you have never seen anybody go for 40 homers and 50 doubles. You never said, oh, my God, he's going to have a 40-50 season. Stolen bases and homers have numbers that we attach to them, but like doubles, triples, all that stuff does not. Yeah, I don't know. I think it's because they're just so different stolen bases and home runs, right? They require two entirely different skill sets. That's two of the five skills.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Yeah. Even though a triple requires the same skill set as... To do both is a true freak. Yeah. You have to be an athletic freak to be able to hit the ball that far, but also run that fast. Yeah. Because the first guy hit the ball far is Babe Ruth.
Starting point is 00:15:42 We're like, wait, you can do that? Because everyone else was running fast. Yeah. And then no one else was running fast and hitting heart. Until Jose Cansecoe is like, I can hit far and run. and run fast. Mickey Mantle did it, but like... I think Corby Carroll deserves more shine, by the way.
Starting point is 00:15:58 I know he plays in a hitter's park and it's like a triples ballpark. He plays in two major, or maybe it's three major triple ballpark a year with San Francisco, Arizona, and Colorado. But he is doing insane things. We've talked about it on the show before where he'll have like the most triples of any modern player outside of like when they would play with rope fences and 500 foot. Yeah. Solo ground. Yeah. A fan would just pick it up and throw it.
Starting point is 00:16:22 throw it back, yeah. But he's, he, he, oh my goodness. He's hitting a shit ton of doubles, a shit ton of triples, and he's hit a shit ton of homers. PCA has eight, eight triples. Yeah. He is fourth. Knowing that, how many does Corby Carroll has, have?
Starting point is 00:16:40 I would say, 11? 16. 16 triples. Twice as many. That's a pretty damn impressive. Now about this for accounting stat, I saw that PCA has, he tied Nelson Cruz's record, which I found to be a little surprised at Nelson Cruz is the person that had this record. In 2019, for the most 10 base games.
Starting point is 00:16:59 For the most games, you get 10 plus bases in the game. Last night, he hit, what do you get, 12, 11? Did he get a hit later? Did you get on? Well, triple in a homer is 11. A triple in two homers is 11, right? It's 11, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Do you get one more hit? I don't know. But anyway, he got over 10 last night. It's the sixth time, I believe, this season. There are a lot of numbers. I'm trying to keep track of it. I believe it was the sixth time this season he's done it, which is the most in one season tied with Nelson Cruz in 2019.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Does that do anything for you, Evo? That's very impressive. That's almost too many numbers. You say that out loud, you're just like, I'm kind of lost. So the one thing I would say about PCA that is very unique is that he is the only baseball player that has had multiple Heisman moments throughout the season. Oh, that's a great. Because when he has his highlights, it's not just making a great play.
Starting point is 00:17:49 It's make a great play. Then go hit two homers or go hit a go ahead. head Homer in the ninth. And he's very unique in that sense because we've talked about electric players in baseball. And he just like embodies the Heisman electricity. I love using Heisman moment for every big moment in sports. Yeah. It's a great marker.
Starting point is 00:18:09 I know PCA's awesome. Corby and Carroll. What's happening right now? He kind of looks like Corbyn Carroll. Is that why you've, like we let it fly one time. Why are you trying to force? I want to work with Mark here, who is a basketball guy. Obviously, the 50, 40, 90 season is like the pinnacle of shooting.
Starting point is 00:18:26 That's right. What would we want to make those benchmarks for a baseball player? Let's invent a new 40-40 club. Is it 40 doubles, 15 triples, 40 homer? Like, what would, let's make one that's realistic and awesome. 40 homers. What's a lot of doubles? Like 40?
Starting point is 00:18:47 Yeah, like the league is usually around like 50. Yeah, okay. 40 40 40 40 What about 40 all the way down So 40 doubles 40 homers 40 40 But PCA by the way I was looking at doubles
Starting point is 00:19:01 He has 29 Outfield assist Oh Like I said That would only apply to outfielders Hard to be a first base You get a lot of outfield assists Fielding percentage
Starting point is 00:19:12 Our pool holes didn't have any Outfield assist Yeah not Revitable damn one Can I just go old school Baseball and just Why isn't it just 300 batting average 100 RBS?
Starting point is 00:19:22 and 40 home run? You think that's the... What if we just circled all the way around to that? It has become almost unattainable. Not almost unattainable, but very difficult. Like one or two guys. 100 RBIs is, yeah. That is... What happened to that?
Starting point is 00:19:34 That used to be... These guys got rid of RBIs. Hold on, I want to talk to you about it. 100 RBIs was... These guys... I'm the bad guy. I'm the bad guy for all the nerds. The nerds hate RBI.
Starting point is 00:19:44 The nerds say RBIs don't really exist or something like that and they're really a stupid stat and everything. But for 100 years, we judged these sluggers by, by, you know, hitting 40 or 50. That's all that really matters. Hitting R.B. All of that. Why did you all get rid of RBIs? I don't think we got rid of RBIs.
Starting point is 00:20:00 I also kind of agree with you. I think the stats, you know the bell curve where it's like the two guys at peace are at the end of the belt curve and the guy is angry in the middle? Right. I think the guy in the middle is the RBI's don't matter guy. The batting average doesn't matter guy. And the guys at the end that are at peace are the low intelligence guy.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Or on it goes. Yeah. Like I think batting average in RBI. RBIs matter. And I think the people at the end that are really smart are batting average RBIs matter because the reason you take shots at RBI is because, oh, it's incomplete. It's a productive opportunity. There's guys that don't have good players in front of them to get RBI opportunities. So it doesn't really tell you the whole story of the hitter. And that's the root of all these baseball analytics is like, oh, the batting average doesn't tell you the whole
Starting point is 00:20:43 story of how they're hitting. RBI doesn't tell you the whole story of how they're hitting. Is that fair? It's a fair gripe, but also it doesn't diminish their accomplishment. I think having 100 is fucking sweet. But here's the issue. You still have to drive the runners in. That's the only thing that matters, really. When you get down to it, is driving runners in. Scoring runs.
Starting point is 00:21:00 Scoring runs is the only thing that matters. When you nerds came up with all your stuff, you could have added some stats to us and said, you know what? I know you guys are home runs, RBIs and average, but these stats are actually the important ones right here. Let's add these to it. Instead, you took away average and you took away RBI's.
Starting point is 00:21:19 You took off the table, too. I have my stat. club. It's RBI, 100 RBIs and how many runs scored is a lot? Also 100 100, I think. Probably around 100. 100 or 100? Because is that all, that's all the matters, Brian. Yeah. Oh, the 100
Starting point is 00:21:34 100 or 100 club. That might be, I don't know if 100's a lot of runs. Hold on. Let me see what runs leaders right now. RBI leader is Jordan Alvarez is 140. Sorry, sorry, that's a, that's a fake you. That's a, that's a run score leader, PCA, 115, RBI leaders, Burleson and I think 100 I think maybe more than that
Starting point is 00:21:55 So Yordano Averaz has 96 runs scored And how many RBIs does he have? Sorry Is that not going to be exclusive enough of a club He is 98 PCA is going to go 100-100 this year He's already there I think 100-100 is good
Starting point is 00:22:11 Because what if That's all that matters You want to add home runs? I mean if you really stop and think about it Bram is that all that matters Scoring runs That's how you want to You either drive in the other person or you yourself score the run.
Starting point is 00:22:24 Everything else is just smoking mirrors. Otani was on pace last year, or was it two years ago, to go like 150-150 at one point. And see, I brought you this discussion, I brought you this today. You didn't even have it on the fucking prep sheet. I'm sorry, but Otani, when he went 50-50 and was pitching, he was pitching that year or no? Yes. He was. He went 50-50 was pitching and pitching well and did not get to.
Starting point is 00:22:50 10 war? No, sorry. The 50-50 season was the nine-win season without pitching, where he took the year off and only D-8. Yeah, that's- That was awesome. But still, 50-50 season was no, it was not 10-war. No. So the reason that exists because there are positional adjustments based off
Starting point is 00:23:06 defensive implications of your D.H gets by the long. I still don't understand. I don't know if that's. A good starting pitcher can get six or seven war. Shoahe Otani on his own as a hitter can get six or seven war. Why isn't that 13 or 14? Because it has to do with, like, the innings you pitch. Like, pitching war is very tied to eating innings and having low-year-ray over the beginning.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Do you think there is a soul alive, whether they know a goddamn thing about baseball or not, that would take Zach Rankie and what year was it, 2009 over the 50-50-so-hei-O-Tani season? If you could take one player... No, because it... Going into next season, which player are you taking? Everybody's going to take Shoaheotani, 50-50. Yeah, I mean, I bet most people do. I think the issue you'd run into is, guys...
Starting point is 00:23:50 that want to just construct the roster a certain way. Maybe they're worried about Otani's injuries with pitching. He's never really pitched a full season and hit. Oh, I'm with you. That was baseball. That's baseball. Did you see $1 billion of Mets? That was a good call.
Starting point is 00:24:05 That was a good call by who said that? Kevin Brown, who is the Orioles play-by-play guy. Is that Kevin Brown the pitcher? No, different Kevin Brown. All right, all right. But he was doing the national broadcast last night and did it. This episode is brought to you by Body Armor Flash IV. When I go golfing, I like to take a couple of, before I go out in the sun,
Starting point is 00:24:24 drink a couple of body armor flash IVs, I'm good for the day. You know me. I'm electrolyte poor. I'm sun-s scared. I'm all of those things. I take some body armor flash IV. I'm ready for the day. I'm ready for the sun.
Starting point is 00:24:35 I go out there. I play golf in about 92 shots. Go home. I'm all good. Body armor flash IV. Like a magic potion. Not only is it great with electrolytes. Not only is it giving me everything I need.
Starting point is 00:24:46 It also tastes good. Strawberry Kiwi The strawberry Kiwi especially I love the strawberry Kiwi I love myself going back to strawberry kiwi Flash IV is packed with electrolytes delivering faster longer lasting hydration without any artificial dyes
Starting point is 00:24:58 flavors or sweeteners whether you're training traveling just feeling the heat or cheering on your team work hard hydrate hard with body armor Flash IV grab it at 711 Is Lane Kiffin full of it Mark? That's the question Brandon
Starting point is 00:25:11 Is Lane Kiffin full of shit? Now I have a couple of theories and one is Galaxy Brained. Would you like my normal theory or my Galaxy Brain Theory? Give me your straightforward theory. Give me your, I'm not thinking about it too much. He's playing a little mental warfare.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Sam Levin would be the starter on Saturday night. Okay. Sam Levin, of course, is his quarterback through two games, and he put him on the injury list as doubtful yesterday against Ole Miss, the biggest game of the year for both these teams, the biggest game of the week for everybody else in college football. But my just straight-up take is fucking around, and he'll play.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Yeah. Now, Mm-hmm. Galaxy brain. Last year, Lane Kiffin walked into the season with Austin Simmons as his quarterback. He played two games, had a little injury, and when he came back, Lane had found a Division 2 gym out of Ferris State, Trinidad Chamblest, and he put him in there, and he blossomed, and now he is one of the best quarterbacks in the country, and they ended up going to playoff.
Starting point is 00:26:11 This year, when he went quarterback shopping, Lane found his D3 gym. first, his D2 gym first. And he went out and got Landon Clark. And he said, but I need a Trojan horse. I need a stalking horse. I need a horse to go out ahead of everybody to pace me. And then everybody gets fooled. And here comes my real quarterback.
Starting point is 00:26:34 So Sam Levitt was always a disguise. Sam Levitt was always a Trojan horse. Right. Where he gets them into the season. And then all of a sudden, you're inside the gates. And bam, here comes my real quarterback. Wow. that's my galaxy brain tank.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Wow. He thought of this nine months ago. This has been planned for a long time. He thought of this well, well, well long ago. That's my galaxy brain tank. And now you would say no college football coach would ever fucking do that. Lane Kiffin might. Lane Kiffin, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:04 There's one guy, it would be Lane Kiffin. Now when he did go out and get in the quarterback transfer portal, he got three layers of quarterbacks. He didn't just spend on one. He got his experience starter. Sam Levitt. He got his D2 flyer in Landon Clark. And then he got his future five star in Longstreet out of USC, who was a five star that was a freshman out there. So he attacked the quarterback position at all three levels, which means they should be ready even if Sam Levitt didn't play. Yeah. Now, if you noticed last night, the line was at three, the announcement gets made that he's doubtful. It immediately plummets to one and a half. And then I guess the gamblers, the odds makers were like, wait a second. Hang on. And it went back. back up to two and a half. How about that?
Starting point is 00:27:48 Yeah. So that's where we are. And we don't know what the injury is. It's just... I've heard source shoulder. I've heard... I've heard from Baton Rouge people that there's nothing to it. I've heard from Baton Rouge people that, yeah, it's a concern.
Starting point is 00:28:00 So the Baton Rouge people are sending mixed signals. Probably on purpose. Now, are there any rules about how you handle this? It's a fine if you... It's a fine if you're lying. If you mislead... Ask this question. Well, my question is, I'm looking at the injury part right now.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Out is pretty clear. Yeah. It says out. So if you play one of those guys, you're lying. Yeah, and you're fine. And you're fine. It's a little gray area with doubtful. Because couldn't you say he's doubt?
Starting point is 00:28:27 Couldn't it like, you know. Also on Wednesday? You have to put it down on Wednesday? The game's on Saturday? So couldn't he have a miraculous recovery? Sure. And nothing's going to happen is what I'm saying. Like if Sam Lev it lines up under center for the first play,
Starting point is 00:28:40 nothing can happen as far as like LSU being penalized, right? How can I prove that Lane Kiffin didn't doubt his. availability on Wednesday night. There's no way for me to prove that. Now, there was, Lane has a history of playing games with the injury report. He had an injury report at Ole Miss a couple years ago where he had 26 players on the injury report. I think 26 players played or whatever, you know, some ridiculous number that they all just were fine. So don't think the spotlight to Lane Kiffin only exists on Saturday night in Oxford. It exists all week long and he's constantly thinking of ways to use it to his advantage and to use it to his personal game.
Starting point is 00:29:21 Can I say something as a guy who's not really a Lane Kiffing guy? Yeah. I think fucking around with the injury report, I think it's a savvy move. I think I'm fine with it. The concept of it. Now, this one, you know, the circumstances do make you go. Oh, interesting. This week of all weeks in your quarterback lane and he's out, you know, you scratch your head a little bit.
Starting point is 00:29:42 But I think the idea of, yeah, if a coach wanted to put. 50 guys as questionable. If you want to put your whole roster is questionable. Yeah. I don't know if I have a problem with that. I think I think. What if you're just questioning if they're good or not? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:54 I don't know if I. Yeah. I don't know if I'm going to play him or not, frankly. I think, uh, I think I'm okay with that as a concept in general. I have a question for you. The, the percentage breakdown of probable, questionable, doubtful, and out. Where do you draw those lines? All right.
Starting point is 00:30:14 Probable is how, what percentage chance to play? 75. I said 80 was in my mind. Yeah. Questionable is 60. So what is... Questionable is between 50 and 60. Doubtful is under 25%.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Doubtful is 10%. Yeah. Yeah. It would take a miracle for him to play. Yeah. We might need more levels is what you're saying. Yeah. We might need more...
Starting point is 00:30:39 Do we have enough adjectives? Unlikely to... Questionable, unlikely, doubtful. Possible. Unlikely, doubtful, questionable. What's between... questionable and doubtful? Seriously questionable?
Starting point is 00:30:52 Kind of the same thing. Maybe? Questionable. Maybe it should be like right at 50. And questionable should be, okay, hold on. Oh, no, there should be an I don't know. That should be 50. Exactly 50 is, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:07 All right, I'm clear, not optimistic. All right, so the list should be, the list should be everybody in your team and the list should be for sure playing. Yeah. Dubious? Dubious is quite
Starting point is 00:31:24 Probable Limited Limited But limited means Playing but Yeah At 100% Effort
Starting point is 00:31:33 So that's like between That's like 95 But they're going to play But they're not going to play All right So there's for sure playing And then the first one we get to Is probable
Starting point is 00:31:44 Should there be something between for sure and probable Or no We got that That one's covered Almost assuredly. Almost assured. Almost for sure.
Starting point is 00:31:56 Almost for sure. Yeah. So that's, that's it like 95 to 100. For sure. Almost for sure. Yeah. Then we can do probable.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Probable. Okay. I'm right these. And then there's probable, but I don't really, probable, but, can you write that?
Starting point is 00:32:11 What about eh? I like eh. Eh? Or is that just questionable? I think eh is, is, is, uh, I think eh might be worse.
Starting point is 00:32:22 questionable. Yeah, so questionable is after probable. And then... What if one of them is just like you're shaking your hand like this? Well, that's eh, right? Yeah, that's... Then we have doubtful. Sure.
Starting point is 00:32:35 And then we have Ain't no way. Ain't a fucking way. We have Ain't no way. And then out. So Ain't no way is just above out. Like out of the last hundred ain't no ways, two of them have played? Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Yeah. Ain't no way is there's like a 1% chance. Okay. Because then when he comes in, you also are saying, ain't no way. The Willis Reed. Ain't no way. Ain't no way. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Ain't no way. There it is. I think we solved it. You go to the sideline reporter and Aaron Andrews like, guys, you know, he was on the ain't no way list. And I couldn't believe it when I was in the tunnel. I said, ain't no way. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:10 I think we solved it. That's it. Yeah. So there you go. Sam Levitt. But you're saying even if he doesn't play LSU. If I tell you right now, Sam Levitt, news breaks that he's going from doubtful to out.
Starting point is 00:33:24 He's 100% out of this game. You're saying that LSU's quarterback situation is secure enough that you still believe they should be favored in this game. I get the sense. I get the sense that when he was sitting down to fill out that injury report, Lane Kiffin had a sly smile on his face, and he knows regardless of what comes to that injury report, he's got him.
Starting point is 00:33:43 That's what I believe he thinks. I think he is either very confident in his quarterback room he's got another one or he knows he's going to play. I don't think, I don't get the sense that it's like, oh, my God, if he doesn't play, we're fucked. The panic meter in Baton Rouge right now is out of zero in your eyes in terms of the Leavitt situation. Lane's in the exact number of control he wants to be in going to the situation.
Starting point is 00:34:09 And it's Ole Miss wondering, oh, what's going on, what's doing this, what's doing that. And he, let's, we forget, he has been here before. It's a little bit different. and he went into Tennessee with Ole Miss after, you know, and Tennessee fans hated him. They were screaming at him. He's been here before. Talk to me about the stakes in this game outside of Lane Kiffin, outside of the rivalry between LSU and Ole Miss,
Starting point is 00:34:32 the SEC race, the playoff race. Does, you know, is the loser in trouble for making the playoff in your eyes? You lose a game this early in the SEC with everybody playing each other the way they do. You're certainly in trouble. I think Ole Miss could take a loss better than LSU could if I know the schedule.
Starting point is 00:34:52 I know LSU's got some, I believe LSU has more tougher games on the schedule after this than Ole Miss does, although they both play Texas. Yeah. I think they both play Oklahoma, which that one's come down a little bit. They both play Mississippi State, which is pretty much guaranteed loss. But for psychologically, I believe a loss hurts Ole Miss so much more than it hurts LSU. I think LSU is the road team They're going in there to a team that went to the playoff last year
Starting point is 00:35:22 They have all the hubbub about their coach and everything And it would hurt them short term It would certainly hurt them short term I think it hurts Old Miss long term If they were to lose If Lane Kiffin walks in there and sticks his thumb in their eye Yeah And they realize, you know
Starting point is 00:35:35 We lost the guy that built this thing And see if we can put it back together Then they got to go to a very good Florida team Next week in Gainesville So yeah This is definitely Whoever wins this game is in a great fucking position for the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:35:48 What's your tier ranking in the SEC? It's Texas and Georgia at the top alone? Yeah. Does a winner of this get up in that tier? A lot of people have already put LSU in that tier based on what they did to Clemson. So if we're holding them off in that tier right now, we'll say Georgia and Texas in the top, then you've got the next tier of LSU Ole Miss Alabama, A&M. Oklahoma already played their way out of that group.
Starting point is 00:36:12 And there's one I'm just obviously missing, by the way. So shout out to them. I'm sorry. And then the third tier would be your Florida's, your Auburns that are off to decent little starts. And let's see who can actually. Florida and Auburn play this week, which is a huge game in the SEC. We'll see which of those teams from the third tier tries to come up to the second tier and beyond. Who's the team I'm missing, by the way?
Starting point is 00:36:34 Texas, Georgia at the top. Then I got LSU, Bama, OMS, O-M, Oklahoma played their way out of it. I feel like there's one more. But that is set. Tennessee? I would say Tennessee and Missouri. I would say Tennessee and Missouri are between tiers two and three trying to see in which way they're going to go.
Starting point is 00:36:53 I guess I got them. I guess I got them. Kentucky. I did think there were seven legit playoff contenders coming in and Oklahoma's the only one that's out so far. They're not even out necessarily. They're out. Do you think they're out?
Starting point is 00:37:08 They went to Michigan and couldn't handle that. They go to Athens, Georgia next weekend. Like they're fucked. They're completely fucked. And after that, they play Texas. They might be. They might be triple-fucked. There might not be a week this year where they have a winning record.
Starting point is 00:37:24 Although I guess they have nobody this week, so they'll be two-in-one. But then after that. What if they come out the other side, 5-1? All right. What just happened? What if they come out the other side 4-1? Yeah. What if they go to Georgia, they win, they win the neutral side game versus Texas?
Starting point is 00:37:39 Yeah, if they go to Georgia and beat Georgia and beat Georgia, that changes everything entirely. I'm not willing to write them off yet. I know their schedule is going to be tough. They could finish eight. A tough schedule means. 11-1 and 6-and-6 or 5-and-7. Tough schedule means a lot of great opportunities. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:53 You know? A lot of great wins are sitting right there for the taking. They were so punchless against Michigan. They were so, Georgia is going to just be waiting for them. What if, what about so what I said about the Michigan Oklahoma game, which is that Michigan benefited from knowing that their quarterback sucks
Starting point is 00:38:11 ass. And they went into that game saying, like we cannot ask him to do too much. In fact, we can barely ask him to do anything. Sure. Just let him run the ball. Yeah. That's basically it, right?
Starting point is 00:38:20 Oklahoma's like, we have a Heisman contender. Let it rip, John. Now Oklahoma's like, never mind. Our guys, dog shit. What if they benefit from that? What if they now know that Mateer is just not good? Well, here's what you're ignoring in that scenario. And they...
Starting point is 00:38:36 You're ignoring that Michigan benefited from Oklahoma's quarterback sucking ass. Yeah. Georgia's quarterback doesn't suck. ass. Texas's quarterback doesn't suck ass. They're going to get in these games. Oklahoma was in a dog fight with Michigan because both quarterback suck ass. But now they're going to have to turn the quarterback loose at some point to catch up. Right. They're going to be facing a quarterback who's going to throw for 100 yards and run for 50 and act like, oh, I'm great. They're going to be facing quarterback. Gunner Stockton's very good. Archmanning's very good. They're going to play
Starting point is 00:39:04 Trinidad Chambliss this year. Like there's a lot of quarterbacks waiting for that. Yeah, it's over. Yeah. Camario Taylor. You know. But I do have great news. The crown is yours. We have a banger of a Thursday night football game tonight. The last time these two teams played, they combine for 90 points. It is the Detroit Lions in Buffalo against the Buffalo Bills.
Starting point is 00:39:47 We are going to build our parlay. Opening the new stadium, right? Open in the new stadium, that's right. Do you think Cody will get on TV tonight? When did he leave? He's got to get on TV. No, actually, I think he's got one of those seats that's behind the...
Starting point is 00:39:59 It's behind the stadium. It's in the stadium, but it's also behind the stadium. On the Concord. I brought two touchdown scores. Okay. I don't know what you guys brought to put on the horse race for this parlay. I like Sam Leporto to score a touchdown.
Starting point is 00:40:14 And then James Cook. James Cook and Sam Loporta. I don't believe they scored 36 points the other day. I'd have to look. James Cook didn't score the other day, right? I don't think you did. No, I don't believe so. Palmer, Alan Twight.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Allen had four touchdowns. Yeah. So I think I like James Cook. He did not score in week one. I think he scores tonight. I have an announcement in front of God and country I'd like to make right now. Sure. I'm a Jared golf guy.
Starting point is 00:40:38 I love Jared golf. and I've loved them ever since. We ran into him at the Super Bowl, and he recognized me. And he recognized. You keep saying. What? Keep saying that.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Well, you didn't talk to him. But you keep, you keep saying, but we were standing in the same. Brandon, he very obviously recognized me because he walked up to me and was like bar stool.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Sure, but we were both standing. No, no, he walked up to us and said that. Yeah, but you didn't talk to him. You were over there. I said, no. You were eating the shrimp. I was eating.
Starting point is 00:41:05 We were standing by the shrimp when he came in. But I thought you were, but you were, I know, But you were like in the shrimp. I was in the shrimp. Sure.
Starting point is 00:41:11 I wasn't in the shrimp. I was like, hello, Jared Gough of the Detroit Lions. Yeah. It was like, oh my God, he knows. He did. He said bar stool. He said bar stool. But again, you have, every time you tell that story, even off the air today,
Starting point is 00:41:25 you said he recognized me. But you didn't talk to him, Brandon. But that didn't mean he didn't recognize me. How do you know that? I didn't have to talk. He said bar stool. I mean, come on. I didn't have to talk to get recognized.
Starting point is 00:41:34 He looked me the eyes. I didn't have to talk to get recognized. Point is. Sure. Jared. Give me the Jared Goff over. I'm riding his passing yards. I don't know what the number is.
Starting point is 00:41:43 It doesn't matter. What's the number? Give me the number. You want the, I'm saying it was 2.38 and a half. What is it? It is 262. That's easy. That's easy.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Against the bills dee? You see the Bill's Devens we won? That's easy. Yeah. That's easy. Also, also give me. That looks like Jared Goff past yards zero. Give me,
Starting point is 00:42:04 I'm on Ross St. Brown scoring a touchdown as well. Is that because he was also at the dinner? Yeah, he was also there. And I didn't talk to him, and I don't think you recognize me, but I do think that if... Touchdown, you said? Had we, yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Had I made my way over to his table, I do think that Amon Ross St. Brown would have been like barstool? Yeah. I think he would have said that too. So I'm taking those two guys. By the way, do you want to do this for every game? Because Fernando Mendoza was there. He knew us.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Eli was there. Eli. I'll take Eli Manning over. Yeah. Conner, you got anything for this? Yeah, I really Will Howard? Will Howard, I believe?
Starting point is 00:42:44 I was not impressed in the same line of thinking as Mark with the bill's defense last week. I would like Jemir Gibbs overrushing. Sure. I don't know if he could duplicate it last week, but we'll see. And then DJ Moore going up against a banged up line secondary.
Starting point is 00:42:59 I would imagine, would it be better to go anytime touchdown or over? Oh, I'll just go over. We have a lot of anytime touchdown on there. Over receiving yards for DJ Moore. 16 and a half. Iba? Yeah, that's more than...
Starting point is 00:43:11 Yeah, I'd like to contribute that I don't think Keon Coleman... I think Keon Coleman is slowly playing himself out of any sort of NFL playing time, under 13 and a half receiving yards. I don't... Cookies, we don't give grace to older receivers that are 23 like Keon Coleman. And I'll also take... I like Dalton Kincaid. I like Dalton Kincaid.
Starting point is 00:43:33 They use a lot of tight ends. Dalton Kincaid anytime touchdown. Kincaid, huh? How do you spell that? With the C instead of a second K. Concade. Is it, was the Keon Coleman thing,
Starting point is 00:43:47 anything related to what Cody just said? No, what did you say? I haven't looked at my phone. Said give Coleman a horse and then. I thought it was 100%. That's good timing. Legitably just said a minute ago.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Keon Coleman is going to go off today. He didn't clarify. He didn't clarify. He just said give Keon Coleman a horse. He's got one. There he is. All right, spin him. I got, you know, that's one catch, by the way. I'm going to throw some one.
Starting point is 00:44:11 He had one catch last week, Brandon. Do you know how many yards it was for, Brandon? I'm going to guess one? It was for one yard. Okay. One yard. I, uh, yes, TJ. I contacted my, my quant, and he gave me Josh Allen longest run 15 plus yards.
Starting point is 00:44:26 Whoa. Wow. I dig it. You know, okay. TJ's always going to have one that's just. Yeah. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:44:37 Absolutely. Run the horses. How many? Take the top four. Okay. This is our parlay. We got within like a yard of hitting last one. Yeah, Mike Evans got close and I think we missed on the touchdown score.
Starting point is 00:44:52 But overall, yeah, boy, boy, we are off. 30 seconds on the clock. Trying to figure out the Draft Kings parlay for tonight's. There's a night football game between Detroit and Buffalo. 20 seconds remaining. Sam LaPorte at any time touchdown had a slightly, but now it looks like Josh Allen, longest run of 15 plus yards, has taken the.
Starting point is 00:45:10 advantage 10 seconds remaining and now it is going Keon Colman Go Keyhart Go Keyhart Give that guy Youngblood 3 O oh two
Starting point is 00:45:20 Got a horse One Keon Goldman Yeah Keon got his horse How about that Cody man he's got to be pissed All right so no touchdown score
Starting point is 00:45:30 It's all yards I'm holding under golf Pass over Gibbs rush yards over DJ Moore Ceptions over I like it I'm going to take
Starting point is 00:45:40 Keon Coleman under 13 receiving yards straight tonight. If you guys want to ride along with me, ride along with it. Wow. New Draft King Sportsbook customer sign up using code family and get a 50% profit boost

Starting point is 00:46:20 There it is. Good one tonight. There's another football thing that happened. Yeah. The college football, the FBS Oversight Committee came out last night and we're like, actually, if the refs had done their job correctly, that game would have had a different result.
Starting point is 00:46:39 and Michigan actually lost that game and Western Michigan won that game. So the next thing out of your mind is, so you're just going to fix it. Okay, well, cool. It's like a pretty easy fix. Yeah, so they're one in one, and then they say,
Starting point is 00:46:51 whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, we are not going to change anything. None of this. Yeah. It feels like, you know, a couple of years ago, Michigan had the cloud, without even saying alleging anything. They had the cloud of NCAA investigation
Starting point is 00:47:07 and coach suspension is hanging over them for the entire season. Now, this is not as nefarious as that, but this will be a part of their story the entire season. That's right, Brandon. If they're 5 and 1, well, they're actually 4 and 2. If they're 10 and 2, they're actually 9 and 3. If they get to 10 and 2 and they're in the playoff discussion, should they be in the playoff discussion?
Starting point is 00:47:27 What about Western Michigan? What if Boise State is 11 and 1 and Western Michigan's 10 and 2, and Boise State doesn't have a big time, huge win. they got the win over Memphis, and Western Michigan would have a win over Michigan. I want more lawsuits is what I want. I want Western Michigan. You like college football to be determined in the courts.
Starting point is 00:47:45 I love that. I love, that's how I got into college football. I wasn't really into college football. You're a courts guy. Until a few years ago, I just love the courts, and there's so much college football courtroom stuff going on that I was like, I should give college football a try. Well, you love Law and Order, right?
Starting point is 00:48:00 I love Law & Order. I love Law & Room. Exactly. Wait, is that? I made the Netflix noise. What's the... No, you're right. Bong bong.
Starting point is 00:48:07 Okay. What's a Netflix? That's Netflix noise. And then there's like a... That's Star Wars. Buyoka. Do you think in... I was going to say your lifetime, but...
Starting point is 00:48:32 What was that laugh? Who laughed? I didn't... I think Brandon left. Who laughed? I didn't. I didn't. What?
Starting point is 00:48:42 Who laughed? Who's life time? Who? What? Do you think in Connor's lifetime? 26, yep. Connor? I didn't even sleep on that couch today.
Starting point is 00:48:51 I just realized it. I didn't even sleep on the couch. I didn't break your fucking headphones. Go. Do you think in Connor's lifetime, he will see a result overturned? Do you think a situation like this Western Michigan, Michigan situation, will the powers that be, will go look at the film, we'll go look at the film, we'll go look the evidence and they will actually, instead of saying we all know what happened, they will actually issue a statement where they are assigning one loss to the Michigan Wolverines
Starting point is 00:49:17 and one win to the Western Michigan Broncos. Do you think that will ever happen? No. And do you know who I blame? Major League Baseball. Major League Baseball had the biggest layup of all time. About what, 15 years ago now? Armando Gallagheragas' perfect game. That's right. And it wasn't like this happened in the third inning or the fourth inning. It was the last out of his perfect game. Everybody knows he was safe or he was out. The entire world knows he was out. The umpire now says he was out. Everybody is on the same page. He was out. Major League Baseball came out later and said he was out. Yes. That's the last out of the game. That game is over. The biggest layup in the world was to say Armando Gallagheragheragheragher, congratulations, you have thrown the 23rd perfect game in the history
Starting point is 00:50:03 of Major League Baseball. But they didn't do it. Why? I don't know. And then seconds later, they're like, we're bringing replay back and it's never going away again. It's never going away again. They changed everything about the way they do business. They had the easiest lay-up of all time to say, this is cut and dry. It's easy. Congratulations. And they didn't do it.
Starting point is 00:50:22 The poor umpires crying. Begging that no return. Please, for the love of God. And they didn't do it. And therefore, I think precedent, somebody at some point is going to have to come along and break precedent. Somebody's going to have to set precedent. And somebody's going to have to say, listen, we have the ability to,
Starting point is 00:50:37 to change this and we're going to change it, but I don't think anybody ever will until somebody does, and college football certainly is not the outfit that's going to be the first one to do it. Yeah. You've got to have the balls to do it. And for some reason, I can't imagine a sport. There's never a reason hockey would do it. I guess it may be an overtime goal that gets disallowed, but it's obviously, it becomes obviously everyone. It was a goal, but would hockey do it?
Starting point is 00:51:01 Would golf ever change the result? I don't know how you can change a golf result. but what sport could change a result? What's the most? What if the U.S. Olympic boxing committee in 1988, when Roy Jones got, I don't know if you've ever watched this fight, if you ever want to get mad,
Starting point is 00:51:17 watch Roy Jones gold medal fight in the Seoul South Korea Olympics. Yeah. Because he just spends four rounds, beating the shit out of a South Korean and the judges give it to the South Korean. Was it the 72 Basketball Olympics? Munich, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was a similar situation to the Michigan thing, right?
Starting point is 00:51:34 It was, they failed. they put a second back on the clock and they succeeded. And to this day, U.S. players won't allow their families. But right in their wills do not accept the silver medal. Don't take the metal. Yeah, what's the most? And I'm not talking about like, you know, rules by it.
Starting point is 00:51:51 Like we found out this guy was on steroids. So we're going to take it. We're going to strip his title and give it to that. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about this team. We're not vacating wins. We're taking the win away and then also giving it to the team that lost. We're like just switching the result.
Starting point is 00:52:05 But Mark, what's stopping? I'll ever have it. Exactly. That's my point. They're saying, they're saying if protocols have been followed, it would have been a different result. Michigan lost and Western Michigan won.
Starting point is 00:52:15 They're coming out and saying it, but they won't change it, even though the game, again, that play happens in the third quarter. I guess that's not really possible because it was time put back on the clock, but if a questionable play happens to the third quarter, game flow, you can't explain anything.
Starting point is 00:52:29 But when it happens on the last play of the game with a clock situation, that is fixable. I was joking earlier about, Western Michigan suing, but also, like, how much money are they losing by not having this game? I need to Darren Rovell tweet. Add up all the dollars and cents of, you know, with the campus.
Starting point is 00:52:46 How many, how many applications to Western Michigan would have poured in had this been a win? Yes. I guess. How many T-shirts in Columbus, Ohio would have been. That's a good point. So the money is definitely a thing. The pride is definitely a thing. I don't want anybody getting fucked.
Starting point is 00:53:03 but at the same time Yeah, we know that about you. Yeah, okay. Just smooch. Yeah, exactly. Like the Gala Raga, quote unquote, perfect game. We remember that a lot more
Starting point is 00:53:18 than a lot of other perfect games. No, no, no, no. You say that, but we remember it for the wrong reasons. He should be in history as throwing a perfect game. There's 22, 23 of them? Yeah. No, trust me, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:53:31 and we should be considering that a perfect game, but because of all the controversies surrounding it, we still remember that one. This one, I don't know if necessarily will be the same way. Obviously, Western Michigan beating Michigan was always going to be memorable. The whole screw job at the end makes it more memorable. Yes, they got screwed. It should absolutely be a win.
Starting point is 00:53:50 But at the very least, it's not like history will ever look at it as, oh, well, Michigan won the game. I think for the most part, people absolutely will still, for the rest of time, say, no, Western Michigan got screwed. I think the most famous example people are pointing out is the George Brett Pinetar game. George Brett Pintar game, the Yankees won that game. The Royals protested. Days later, they upheld the protest and restarted the game from the point of that home run.
Starting point is 00:54:15 They allowed the home run and the Royals won that game. Oh. Also, I didn't know this. The only reason why that was even a rule is because baseballs are expensive. What? Simple economics. Any contact would play. Pine tar would discolor the ball,
Starting point is 00:54:32 render it unusable for play, and require it to be discarded and replaced, which was expensive. Oh, well, I always wondered why it mattered how far the pine tar went up. I thought it did something to the buoyancy of the bounciness of the ball off the bat. That's...
Starting point is 00:54:45 I never knew any of this, I'll be honest. If the Pintar game happened today, it would be unbelievable. What a... You're aware of it. Yeah. Are you guys aware of it? The Pintar game?
Starting point is 00:54:58 Brett George. Hmm? continue George Bratt well as you're saying if that happened today it would melt down sports I'm taking my pepto
Starting point is 00:55:10 yes of my trying to fight what about what about replaying Western the final play Western versus Michigan and we replay it like I don't know we do like a best of like 21
Starting point is 00:55:22 you know we get them all back out there run it 21 times throw the Hail Mary 21 times how many Hail Marys do they have to hit for it to count
Starting point is 00:55:31 Was one? 11? Oh, they'd have to win more than they lose. Yeah, yeah. Did you just fix? Did you just fix college overtime? 21 Hail Marys. Hail Marys?
Starting point is 00:55:43 Oh, my God. Hell Marys until somebody hits one? I would much rather watch that than a two-point conversion on. Holy shit. Holy shit. What about you start on the, you start at midfield, and it just slowly gets closer until someone scores. You get one play from midfield.
Starting point is 00:55:59 Each team gets one play. All right. Now you get one play from the 45. Now you get one play from the 40. Oh, my God. 50, 40, 30. You want to go by 10 yards? I think 10.
Starting point is 00:56:11 Oh, my God. That might be something. That makes just as much sense as anything else they come up with. It's like a, it's a true penalty kick, but there's even more suspense because you don't really, like, the ball has to go in the, like, oh, there's a suspense at the snap and then the play and the ball going in the air. Like a true hell Mary. Yeah. Whoa. There's something there.
Starting point is 00:56:33 I don't know exactly what it is, but there's something there. Also, the idea of just dueling Hail Marys for any extended period of time would be fantastic. Yeah. Could have saved the Pro Bowl. Back-to-back Hill Marys. Yeah, you should be on, we should be on the Pro Bowl committee. We should have just a Hail Mary off? Should we?
Starting point is 00:56:55 Yes. Pro Bowl is dead. Yeah, sure. Should we just start our own Pro Bowl? Hmm. I don't know how we do it. Now, we don't really have time around here because we got, I think we have a Barstall Combine that we. Combine.
Starting point is 00:57:06 Oh. And I think mini golf's the next week, but it's a good thought. Someone's got to do the Pro Bowl. We've gone four months without doing a Combine. Yeah. You got to believe one's coming up. I didn't know he was in town. Quick trip.
Starting point is 00:57:21 That is a terrific idea. What? The Hellmerys or the. Two-point conversion all. Gang Rivet doing Hellmerys, moving the ball up, five, ten yards. Heck, we could start the one go nine, nine yards. You straight and brawn up because I don't like the way he looks when he's laying back like that. Lean back.
Starting point is 00:57:38 Thank you very much. That's all right. Just hold him. Yeah. Yeah. Just hold him. How was your trip, Liam? It was cool. It was fun.
Starting point is 00:57:49 I feel bad still for the Connor debacle. That's all my fault. No problem at all. What debacle did you put Connor through? The whole airport getting there. Spoke about extensively. It was a little problem. It wasn't a little problem.
Starting point is 00:57:59 I didn't miss that. You came back. I was not pitch. I just thought it was a funny story. You said never again will I do anything for that man? I did not say that. I said sorry maybe 93 times. Oh, hey.
Starting point is 00:58:10 And I, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I told him to stop. And then he gave me some cash anyway. So it was fun. Give him a nice dinner. And what were you doing in Vegas? Putting on the uniform for a photo shoot? Yeah, so I was like, me and Jeff D. Lo,
Starting point is 00:58:25 the biggest two Golden Knights fans in the world, where the test dummies for Media Day, essentially. Oh, they went through their motions of media day using you guys as practice? They have to do that? No, but it was fun. Okay. They shot some stuff. Is it just you two?
Starting point is 00:58:42 Or was it other fan? Just us too. What did the? It was a blast. And you guys point out I wasn't in skates. I tried. By the way, hockey's shockingly close, right? Shockingly close, yes.
Starting point is 00:58:59 Oh, yeah. They're really start the same time as basketball. There's preseason games this weekend. It doesn't make sense. It's like right around the core. No. They start way before basketball. Oh, there you.
Starting point is 00:59:10 So the top picture doesn't happen unless the bottom picture happens first. Correct. Although the top picture happened last week. We left the, so like we went to the green screen room and record a bunch of stuff. If you call the Golden Knights practice facility, in next few months at some point you might hear me on the voicemail.
Starting point is 00:59:36 You recorded some voicemails. Is it like your voicemail currently? Hey, it's Liam Blubman. No, no. It was like, hey, it's Liam Blutman. So yeah. Okay, fair. You're on hold with the goal nights.
Starting point is 00:59:50 Thank you for calling. Jeffty Lowe did a Lose VGK read? Loz. Like in Espanio. The only Lowe's VGK was Espaniel. Oh, man. Did Jeff E. Load do like a countdown in his voicemail? Five.
Starting point is 01:00:09 No, he didn't. No. Yeah. There's Jeff. And if it's Dave calling that five-second countdown turns into 30 seconds. Yeah. Just to give Jorses of the day. You should have done that.
Starting point is 01:00:20 I'm mad at Jeff. I went bar down and he didn't get a video of it. You went bar down? Yeah. Hell, we went bar down. Bar down? Bar down. Wow.
Starting point is 01:00:28 And Mark. Bar down. What does that mean? Bar down. Okay. Right there in the name. Sure. Bar, bar.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Down. Yeah. That means you hit it and it goes into the net and it goes ping and it right in. Okay. Or dad. Steve Belichick has resigned as United States of North Carolina. Trying to make sense of that acronym. UNC.
Starting point is 01:00:50 I've never seen that one before. The UNC defensive coordinator after medical leave. This is news that broke this morning, mere hours after his. father's tits were all over the internet. Do you think that's, they're related? Or the facts. I'm just the, I'm just the anchor man reporting the series of events. Now, are they related?
Starting point is 01:01:11 Boyd, we didn't talk about it on the show yesterday, but yeah, Bill Belichick's breasts. Unbelievable. What a rack on that. He stacked. I mean, they looked like he was trying to, he wanted people to say something. Steve Belichick, he has been on medical leave, so he has not been with the team anyway. But also, it's been a weird situation. This does feel like, this does feel like it's newsworthy that like the ship is sinking a little bit.
Starting point is 01:01:36 It's leaking, you know? Yeah, but they also. It's already leaking, but they also haven't lost yet and they could win this again. Right, right. It could be 3 and 0 on Saturday. Yeah. They play Clemson, right? And the line's been moving towards them.
Starting point is 01:01:48 Like, if they win, they're 3 and O and things are going okay on the field. Yeah. Meanwhile, it's been like a slow kind of, you know, avalanche down the mountain of picking up steam of, of shit behind the scenes. They already lost, well, didn't lose them, but the GM, they ousted him.
Starting point is 01:02:05 Barty, yeah, Michael Lombardy. Well, another Belichick steps in. Is this true? Highs paid GM and college football. Secondary coach Brian Belichick is currently expected to be North Carolina's defensive play caller moving forward. Now, is Bill related to Brian
Starting point is 01:02:19 and the other Belichick? I would assume it would be hard not to, right? Stevens or Rutgers? I'm surprised that Bill isn't keeping defensive play calling duties. He doesn't give a fuck? Have you ever known a Belichick? No.
Starting point is 01:02:35 Or is that the only example of that name you've ever seen? Never heard that last name before? Me too. I think that's the only Belichick I know in the history of the world. Oh, wow. You ever met a Bocenko? No. I guess that's fair, too.
Starting point is 01:02:50 I've never met another Bosenko. I never have met a Bacos. How many Bosenkoes are out there? Blutman? Not a lot. God damn it. How many blutments are? How many blutmen outside of the blutmen we feel?
Starting point is 01:03:00 A few in Argentina, we believe. Hitchings. Okay. In Argentina. When did they... How long they've been there? What year did they make the... What's the story there?
Starting point is 01:03:14 I don't know. Huh. Inside of there. All right. All right. We got some unique last names in the room. And some common ones. Yeah, I never met a Hitchings before.
Starting point is 01:03:25 I never met a Pesango. I never met a Bluntman. Never met a Titus. Walker. There's Titus that played for the Phillies, dude, so know your fucking history. I never met him. Also, there's a town of California
Starting point is 01:03:35 full of Titus. Burndale. John Titus of the... This is from the video we did, the card show. Most of you think we've ever done. Now that we have said that, now that it's out,
Starting point is 01:03:47 can we talk about the ugly guy? Oh, Don Mossie, yeah. Don Mossie, one of the prompts was find the ugliest player, and me and Titus didn't know what to do with that. So I walked up to the vendor and I gave him the sheet and I said, do you have a tallest player? Do you have this? Do you have that?
Starting point is 01:04:03 And then he said, what else is on the sheet? I said, do you have an ugliest player? He snaps his fingers and points at me. He goes, I got just the guy. Yeah. And he ran right to it right away. I don't know why he knew where's Don Mosey card was. It's like he gets this question all the time.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Yeah. But Don Mosse, the ugliest guy I've ever seen in sports. And I doubted him. I doubt when he was like, I got just the guy. And then he was kind of like taking his time to figure out. where the card was and I was like, this better be good. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:29 This guy's taking up a lot of our time. I got Cody right behind me chirping 20 minutes, 15 minutes, you know, and I was just like, damn, we got a hurry. And I'll be damned. He delivered. He absolutely delivered, Don Mossie. That's his ugliest picture. I'll give him that.
Starting point is 01:04:46 As a big-eared man myself, I see you, brother. What about to go down to the right, the one that's like cut off by the, by my, whatever we call him. ice green that you're that what we got there that one that one oh that's that's who who oh man just oh my god yeah oh wow oh god as sensitive ears that was on his obituary oh wow lived a pretty long life why are big ears oh yeah 90 a stick off your head very very far and they're easy to make fun of yeah yeah big big big penis good big big big big Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:28 Well, I mean, big anything. Like, people make fun. But good. People make fun of big noses. Anything big on your face. Why? Why are we programmed to think that like big noses and big ears are bad? Harder to hide. That doesn't make any sense.
Starting point is 01:05:43 That doesn't make any sense, T.J. Well, the penis is used for pleasure of, of, of, of, um. But big, big, big, big arms, Brandon. If I had big, if, if you describe a man to a woman, you're like, he's got big biceps. She's like, I'm in. He's got a big penis. I'm in. He's got a big skeleton.
Starting point is 01:06:03 He's a tall fella. Yeah. Oh. He's like, oh, I'm really in. He's got big ears. He's through from his head. Yeah. And then she's like, oh, fuck, no.
Starting point is 01:06:10 Gross. Why is that? I wonder. Probably the 1976 film Rudolph Shiny New Year that probably contributed to that in some type of way when you focus on the stigma around big ears. Baby New Year had big ears and they all laughed at them. True. That's probably part of it.
Starting point is 01:06:24 Can I? You get started in 1976. Yeah, maybe. Can I ask a question about ass? Was ass like a big ass always something that was sought after? I feel like that's changed over time. I think it might have been more sought after back in the day than even it is now. I don't really know the history of ass.
Starting point is 01:06:43 Like, because it wasn't like Maryland. Didn't they like fat? Yeah, like I thought back in the day it used to be all you had to be a twig. But I think if you go back in the day further back in the day like hundreds and hundreds of years ago, overweight was like a sign of like wealthy royalty you're like you are able to get you you're able to gain weight because you're so rich this also might be related to uh the garments that women used to wear
Starting point is 01:07:08 I feel like it was more gowny and flowy type stuff on the bottom half but you would have stuff where you get if you were racked up like they had nothing to do about it it's just like it was the funny brain they used to yeah the gown the gowns the gowns used to have the ass poppin the gowns used to have everyone had it everyone but but that That signifies to me that you wanted a nice ass.
Starting point is 01:07:30 You wanted a big ass. They would like purposely make those gowns to have like the fat ass popping out of that. Right? Yeah. Right, Brandon? Yeah. When a baby got back come out? 1999.
Starting point is 01:07:41 Was that a shifting point? Oh, that was a big... Things happened before the 90s. Brandon was around for the creation of culture. I just cited something from 1976, of course. Yeah, but women have had ass before the 90s. Yeah, but I just... I didn't know.
Starting point is 01:07:57 I spent my whole life thinking he was saying L.A. face with an open booty. And I was like, that's not, that's kind of crass. But it's L.A. face with an Oakland booty. That's right. Yeah. Yes. And I think I was in the car maybe two or three years ago when I finally realized he's saying Oakland booty. Yeah, that's interesting.
Starting point is 01:08:19 Yeah. Did it make you look at the world differently? It made me look at Oakland differently. I didn't know they were renowned for their asses. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You don't know that. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:08:29 Look up Cinderella sisters. Cinderella sisters. Step sisters. Yeah, the step sisters. I'm trying to give the people visual of all I'm talking about with the... Where was... The step sister. I mean, like that picture right there.
Starting point is 01:08:44 Like right there with their prancing, right there. Sure. One down there. That's a caboose. Yeah, look at that thing. Look at that thing. You know what I mean? You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:08:52 Am I wrong? I mean... But that's So that was You know That gives you a good idea of the culture of the time But at the What?
Starting point is 01:09:07 At the same time There were always people asking like Oh does this make my butt look too big Like there were women who asked that question So I don't know Very complex topic I think Talking about Social norms and beauty standards for women
Starting point is 01:09:20 Precisely Very progressive of you Connor Listen it's what I do Where was Cinderella's dad and all this? I don't know Disney has a dad problem The stepmom and the step sisters were just bitches.
Starting point is 01:09:30 Yeah. Just treating Cinderella like shit. Where was her dad? Probably working. Probably providing for the family. But doesn't Disney have a dad problem in general? Yeah. Like the dad's always dead or...
Starting point is 01:09:40 They have a parent problem. They'll kill the parents in a heartbeat. The parents are like always... Movie doesn't start until the parents die. Parents are dead. Dead. Yeah. It's true.
Starting point is 01:09:49 Never... No Disney characters ever had two parents. Yeah. Oh, my God. Has a Disney character ever had two parents? Who's the first Disney character? Disney character with two parents. Lightning McQueen.
Starting point is 01:10:02 What? Okay, so Bell didn't? Wait a second. God damn it. In the Cars universe, do they have parents? Right. Oh, my gosh. Are they just created?
Starting point is 01:10:14 Impossible to us. They just built. And if they're built, who builds them? Nobody says. Are there humans in the Card universe? Have we talked about that? We've done a lot of cars, rabbit holes. They're just zero humans in the Cars universe.
Starting point is 01:10:27 What a help? What a help? You know how we just did the card show and the vlog and all that? Could we just do like maybe a two-hour episode where we just discussed the cars universe? I want it more. I want it longer than that. I want a 12-hour. Who created cars?
Starting point is 01:10:41 Like who wrote the screenplay of cars? Disney Pixar. I know who is the man by Lassiter? Lassiter, right? Wasn't it Lassiter? He walked into a boardroom. He's like, guys.
Starting point is 01:10:52 Talking cars. I think he like did weed for the first, he did some weed for the first time in his life and was just like, oh my God. cars are like people with wheels. Because I'd like to get him on this cat. I think it was just their playbook in that era was like, what if this could talk? Like they did, what if boys could talk? What if fish could talk?
Starting point is 01:11:09 And then they're like, uh, fucking bugs. What if they could? And they drilled it every time. He got out of his car and he slammed the door behind him. He was like, wait a minute. Well, they do have parents. There's a character, Mama Bernoulli. Mother of Francesco Bernoulli.
Starting point is 01:11:26 I think your answer, by the way, is the Incredibles had parents. Which Pixar Which is not Disney Hercules Pixar Hercules had two parents But wait a second The Incredibles is about
Starting point is 01:11:36 Mr. and Mrs. Incredible Okay So for this to We would have to know about their parents Their parents Inside Out Girl had parents But that was about the emotions
Starting point is 01:11:45 Yeah And this is That's Pixar too right Yeah Mulan Hercules Pixar invented parents And then yeah They didn't have parents
Starting point is 01:11:55 Boulon Mulan had two parents Yeah. Even a toy story. It was just the mom. That's right. Even though that was Pixar. Was the dad not around?
Starting point is 01:12:06 No. We never saw the dad? Even when they were moving. He made the decision to move the family out of the family's house and never saw the guy. It was just the mom, Andy, and then the sister. Huh. This podcast is also brought to you by No Bowl. Show them off, Brandon.

People say a lot of things about me, and one thing you must say about me, as you're saying all the other stuff.
Starting point is 01:13:33 Sure. Is that... They say that you're a dick, that you're a cockbag, that you're rude to people here, that's right. That you think you're better than them. That's right. That you come across as being an elitist. That's right. And you know what else they say about me?
Starting point is 01:13:47 Is that I am the bigger man, and I will apologize when I'm wrong. Not a lot of people do that. A lot of people like to dig their heels in, but I was wrong. So I would like to right now apologize to John Rothstein. who announced during last college basketball season that should Nebraska, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, I believe it was just win one single NCAA tournament game. Up to this point, Nebraska had never won an NCAA tournament game
Starting point is 01:14:10 in the history of their basketball program. He announced that he would take care of a happy hour, but there were like a handful of caveats, and I, at the time, Brandon, I mocked him. And I said, you know me, I'm a mock. Sure. What do I do, Blumman? You mock.
Starting point is 01:14:25 Yeah, I mock. So Rosting announced it And I was like, all right, John. And I'm a Rosting guy, but I was like, I got to call this out. John Rosting, you're going to pick up a book. You're going to pick one bar that's like off campus. You're going to do it during a holiday. You know, like 11 a.m. to noon, some sort of shit like that.
Starting point is 01:14:43 I was like, this is kind of, this is kind of lame what John Rosting is doing. But I'll be damn, Brandon. I was very, very wrong. Yesterday, John Rosting, he paid off his, he paid off his debt to the Nebraska Cornhuskers fans. Did you see this? Did you see the crowd that turned out for his happy hour? Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 01:14:59 Oh, I did not see this. The bill for his happy hour, it was just one hour at this bar. The bill ended up being reportedly over $14,000. So kudos to you, John Roste. I was very wrong. I apologize. Wow. And I take back every ounce of doubt I had about this happy hour being a little lackluster.
Starting point is 01:15:20 It was not lackluck. Shout out John Rothstein. $14,000. That's a hell of a turnoff. That's a man who pays off his bets. Pressure is on. Rico Bosco. Bosco Bash,
Starting point is 01:15:29 2027. Pressure's on. What's that about? Bosco Bash. He's got to throw a better party than Rossing. Well, that's a good point. Rosting did put together hell of a party.
Starting point is 01:15:38 He set the bar. Yeah. Did you guys ever square off your beef? We don't have a beef. Yeah, you and Bosco, you mean? Yeah, I don't have a beef. That'll never get squared off.
Starting point is 01:15:49 I've said nothing. I've done nothing. I don't, I just, I don't even react when his name comes up. I just sit here. Bosco? Yeah. Why were you smirking then yesterday during wake-up barstool
Starting point is 01:16:02 when Stu Feiner was going off on Rika Bosco? You have a Reese's ad read? I don't, no, but... You look back at the clip. Why you get so worked up when his name gets brought up? When you just say Bosco, Brandon does seem to get like... The face has it all. The face is right there.
Starting point is 01:16:22 Dildo, dildo, dildo. Yeah, shout out Rostin. That was pretty cool to see. What's something, we're missing something obvious. I've got to talk about. Oh, oh, Jersey. Go around the room real quick. I just got the classic.
Starting point is 01:16:39 Dennis Rodman, known as the worm. Yeah, great nickname. Dennis Rodman played for the pistons, for the Mavericks, for the Spurs, for the Bulls, for the Lakers. I think that's it. And this is his Spurs edition of his jersey, Dennis Rodman, 93-94 All right
Starting point is 01:17:02 Dennis Rodman I'm wearing the Thad Castle Sure Reacher Pretty high quality Yeah That's from
Starting point is 01:17:12 From the show Chad Powers Correct Power's yep That Castle star of the show Chad Powers I'm gonna give Chad Pape I don't know I gave Chad Powers Season 1 a shot Not expecting much
Starting point is 01:17:25 And I was actually pleasantly surprised and it knows what it is. It's very good. Do you like that show? Blue Mountain State. Yeah. I have a personal thing with that show, but I never watched the show.
Starting point is 01:17:39 Okay. And I never watched the show because when I wrote my book, I had, I had an, I kind of fleshed out the idea of trying to turn my, my story into a show itself. Yeah. The idea of like a jackass college basketball player and navigate. through college and whatever else. And I remember I was in a pitch meeting, and I pitched the show, and a guy was just like, this is Blue Mountain State.
Starting point is 01:18:06 And then I was like, I'm sorry, what? He's like, yeah, the show is like, it's on the air right now. And I was like, fuck. And then I decided that that was not going to stop me, but I was like, I can't watch Blue Mountain State or else I will be ripping off Blue Mountain State, so I'm going to purposely not watch it.
Starting point is 01:18:21 And that's, so long story short, I did not watch it for that. So now I'm mad. Yeah. Because your idea, if done with basketball and done right, could have been very, very fucking good. And that show is not. It's not a good show? No, it fucking sucks, dude.
Starting point is 01:18:34 Really? It's, uh, it's too goofy. It's the perfect show for, uh, when you're 14 or 15 and super fucking horny. You're like, God, college looks sick, huh? It's the perfect show for like what, I don't even know what college is about. Oh. It's awful, dude. It's fucking awful.
Starting point is 01:18:50 I hate it. Yeah. I like it. I liked it when I was 14. I paid for the- Your idea sounds like it should. I wish I didn't know that now. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:58 Your idea should be in the world. Yeah. And I was, I was young and dumb and like I was, boy, those Hollywood people, they know how to gas you up, Brandon. I'm taking me with them. And they're just like, you know what? You know what? I'm thinking you're going to be a fucking star. And I'm like, really?
Starting point is 01:19:12 So Mark. Mark Blutman has me thinking I'm going to win an Oscar. I don't want to spoil the show for you. But there is a hot female character. And one of the plot twists of the show is that she's actually lesbian in the same thing. She just makes out with other hot shit. Okay. That's pretty sick.
Starting point is 01:19:27 If they did Blue Mountain State as a reboot, but it was about the basketball team, like just now, like 20 years later or whatever. I don't think that's the worst idea in the world. If you just did it. I think that's actually a good idea. I think they were they post-Kinney Powers and they took the wrong lessons from Kenny Powers
Starting point is 01:19:42 and thought the wrong things were funny. Like, Kenny Powers was incredible and funny. This was trying to be the cruised version of it. I think they just tried to keep going more and more pushing the envelope, and it was just like. But then it became awesome. All envelope. Yeah, believable.
Starting point is 01:19:57 The movie is horrible. I paid for the Kickstarter to back the movie. It's... Oh, you were in deep. I love Levant State. Wow. When did that movie come out? This is probably your jersey.
Starting point is 01:20:07 I don't know what I got. It took like five years to come out. It took way longer after I cared about the show for the movie to come out, of course. Bad Castle turning it into an actual career. It's very impressive. For sure. The actor is... Alan Richon.
Starting point is 01:20:18 He's... Oh, he's that guy? The big guy? He gets typecast. He's Reacher? He kind of gets typecast as Reacher and a lot of stuff where he's going to be like the action star anybody else come from that show oh that's that castle he was at a cubs game film about that you're seeing uh anybody else come out of that show that we know i i'm glad that
Starting point is 01:20:41 i'm glad that you said it suck brandon that makes me that makes me well now i i get i pissed off i thought i was missing out on like a classic show um and i was just to being a little petty bitch and i'm not going to watch this show there are people that probably the people that like it probably fucking love it but it's just it's just so got I watched three on IMDB people too. I think it's probably hyper unrewatchable. Like I don't think it's like... Oh, like, if you were watching it when it was coming out, it was funny, but now...
Starting point is 01:21:06 Did you watch it when it came out, Brandon? I don't know if it holds up. It was back in the day. Okay, so yeah. All right, all right. I would say I doubt it holds up. Yeah. Good intro sequence, though.
Starting point is 01:21:18 Give me a hell. Give me a yeah. Connor? Jersey. I'm wearing a Pokemon Girodose jersey. Of course, Girodose, the Vyriot. the violent serpentine creature that evolved from the magic carp
Starting point is 01:21:30 and if you put them in the Olola region unfortunately even though they do have a pretty violent nature they tend to fear away from a clan of wishy-washy so I have the the Giridos Connor has has anything happened in your
Starting point is 01:21:46 life over the last 12 hours that you should mention related to Pokemon? Related to social media No way Oh no Wait Let me check
Starting point is 01:22:04 Yep Yep We're back Brandon has unfollowed me on Twitter Unblocked you Or no yeah sorry I'm blind But no I just followed you
Starting point is 01:22:19 And I had follow in my head Yeah He unblocked me How do you even do that? He unblocked me and now we are following I kept getting There were replies to his tweet There were replies to his tweet last night
Starting point is 01:22:29 They were adding me And I was like, what are they talking about? And I went back and it said, this user, you blocked this user, so I unblocked him to see who it was. And it was Connor. Oh, really? And it was just, it was. It was a video during the commercial break of like a Barstle yesterday where Carson, who works the studio in there dropped a bunch of like cue cards. And nobody was helping him pick them up.
Starting point is 01:22:48 And people were like, Brandon, why the fuck aren't you, you know, being a nice guy and helping him pick him up and blah, blah, blah, blah. We were filming a video. Yeah, we were filming. But anyway, thank you very much, Brandon. You still didn't follow me, but you unblocked me, which I appreciate. And I never will. I've been trying for months to unblock you. I don't know how to do it.
Starting point is 01:23:02 Dude, there's like a third-party app you got to use now. It's crazy. Every time I go to do it, it's just too complicated. And now I can actually interact with your tweets. I can show love. I can throw likes. I can quote tweet. Have you followed him yet or you just unblocked him?
Starting point is 01:23:16 Let's all pump the brakes here. What are you wearing, Ebo? Yeah, I'm wearing a Chase Budinger, San Diego Smasters that I got from the AVP Barcel after Dark. They did not win the AVP championship. which I don't think we talked about on the show, but me and Mark went and had a ton of fun again. Great time.
Starting point is 01:23:34 I love the AVP. They hook us up. It's so fun. It's one of my favorite sports to watch, beach volleyball. Going to a beach volleyball, like tournament is the perfect vibe. It's unbelievable. The stadium they set up on the... I actually do want to bring something up.
Starting point is 01:23:47 What does it say about Chicago beaches that the beach volleyball Super Bowl is here every year? Does that give it any credibility as a legitimate beach? Yes. The Beach volleyball Super Bowls here ever? That's the one we go to every year. Yeah, in Chicago every year. Yeah, it's cool.
Starting point is 01:24:06 It's a good time. Phil Dahlhauser. He's unbelievable. Also, I... 46 years old. I looked up. I thought he had more gold medals. He only has the one.
Starting point is 01:24:15 He's got the one, yeah. In Beijing, that's it. It's a conversation for another day. Blutman, what do you got? It was raining. Okay. Yeah. Therefore.
Starting point is 01:24:23 T.J. so facto. Is that the Odin? Is that an Odin? He's got the... He's got the... Odin on? He's got the Gregie. The Gregie. The Gho. Wow. No way. Good Odden. Oh, no. The camera won't stay. That rocks to you. I got this on a
Starting point is 01:24:43 Barstool After Dark shot a video that's coming out in a couple weeks. Oh, you got it from that kid? And I couldn't take my eyes off of Greg. No spoilers for the video. This kid is a star. He was all over. He was a floor general. He was slapping the floor. Love that. He was, his name's Calloway. I talked to him after. Is he a Greg fan? Not really. He just had the jersey. He just had the jersey. I was like, that jersey's amazing. He was like, you want it?
Starting point is 01:25:11 Oh, so not a fan of the least. So I gave him some... Set up a meet and greet, but... Mostly Sports merch and... I have an announcement. He swapped him. I've announced. Shout out Callow. I would like to make. Um, that's a two-fold announcement. This is for you, Blutman. First of all, I've identified my favorite Pokemon.
Starting point is 01:25:28 Oh, my. That's announcement one. Announcement two, I would like to add said Pokemon to the thing behind you, whatever we're going to call that. The Pocodex? Yeah. I would like to officially get this thing started. Okay.
Starting point is 01:25:40 I've landed on my favorite Pokemon. Would you like to guess who it is? Castform. What? What is that? No, that's a Gen 3, dude. Clink. Gerasor?
Starting point is 01:25:51 Geras. Not Gerex. May I go look at the shapes and try to pick it? Yeah. So it's one of those on there. Huh? It's one of those on there. Yeah, of course, dude.
Starting point is 01:25:59 I'm not taking an OG Pokemon is my favorite. I'm not taking it. Ditto. You're taking an OG Pokemon is your favorite, too? My favorite's Piplop. Oh, I hate you got me on that. I have identified the first Pokemon I would like to add to the Pocenex. Polly Rath.
Starting point is 01:26:22 Would you like to? Machoke final. No. Hypno. Stop farting in the mic. No way. Listen, I know what the people will say. I thought it through, butman.
Starting point is 01:26:40 I really sat down and I said, people are going to kill me for it. People are going to have a lot. I'm going to get the internet talking. I don't care. I followed my heart, and this is what I landed on. Oh, hell yeah. That's what I landed on. And I don't care what it says about me.
Starting point is 01:26:56 I'm going to live my truth. Can I guess what it is now? Go ahead. Is it jinx? Oh, no. No. Are we close to the reveal now? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:27:06 It's in Blutman's hand. Should I show it? Should we do it tomorrow? At some point, somebody's... Oh, wait, we do it tomorrow? Maybe we do it. Why don't we do it with Cody's graphic? Put it in the envelope.
Starting point is 01:27:17 No, you could show it. Put it up on the board. I don't think we show it yet. Okay, then don't show it. What are we doing if we're not showing it? Show the damn Pokemon. I don't know. I wanted...
Starting point is 01:27:25 Squirtle! Squirtle! Squirtle! It's the common... And listen, I know a lot of people have... Squirtle's a basic... It's a basic bitch, but it's two things, Brandon. Number one, it's just cute as can be.
Starting point is 01:27:38 Squirrel's cute as can be. Number two, the name is Squirtle. And I just couldn't get past that. Like, it's, it's so fun to say, squirtle. Squirtle. Squirtle, squirrel. Squirtle, squirrel. Squirtle, Squirtle.
Starting point is 01:27:48 Have you ever seen the Squirtle Squirrels squad? You don't even know about the Squirtle squad yet? You don't know about Squirtle squad. I know the name of this. I know the name of this Pokemon is Squirtle. And every time I said it, I would last. The Squirtle squad is a fight. They fight fires.
Starting point is 01:28:01 And they fucking have sunglasses on. I chose, I chose well. Squirtle's super badass. I fucking love Squirrel. Dude, the gif of him just eating his little rice ball. Squirtle, squirtle, squirtle. Look at the, look at the gift. I think I knew it was squirrelal the whole time.
Starting point is 01:28:16 I didn't want it to be squirtle, but it was one of those deals, man, you know. Squirtle came to you. You think you have two decisions. You flip a coin and as the coins in the air, you kind of know what you're doing for. It was one of those. I was like, I know deep down I'm a squirrelal guy. So I'm, that's just, go to the other one, DJ. DJ, go the other one.
Starting point is 01:28:32 Yeah, Blubman. Go the one of them drinking. Well, but put him on the board. Look at this one. Look at this one. That's awesome. I know what I'm doing for the rest of the day. And then fucking look at the Charmander fans mad in the corner.
Starting point is 01:28:48 I'm a Squirrel guy. No, no, we got to tape it up there. Yeah, you got to tape it up there. And I'm having you do it because I have no idea where Squirtle goes on that board. Oh, okay. There you go. All right. You want to do the graphic before we get out of here?
Starting point is 01:29:03 One graphic. Oh yeah, Cody produced the graphic. There we go. How did the vote turn out? Really bad for the couch. How about that? Wow.
Starting point is 01:29:12 No, but y'all got, I mean, yeah, I mean, in hindsight, I would have drafted, like,
Starting point is 01:29:15 Big Cat and trampoline and fucking blowjob. Had that option. I mean, that's basically what you guys. Blowjob would have been a hell of them. You guys basically think, like blow job salon,
Starting point is 01:29:24 blow jobs salon. Oh, do you take these things? Massage chair. Yeah, but you guys got flag. You guys took part of the body? Shark jumping through a fire hoop.
Starting point is 01:29:32 Two things killed you in this draft. Roller coaster. And Modella was a savvy play. Great play. Great play, Ebo. Two things killed you. Number one, flag. No.
Starting point is 01:29:41 Number two. Connor got caught Googling things at a tailgate. I saw you Googling things. Yeah, and I was looking to see if there was anything left that neither of us had covered. And your premium spot was by the porta potty. Which is still a premium premium spot. It's a mound visit to the port of potty. You have to have the port of the potty.
Starting point is 01:30:02 The picture of their AI The same of a fan sent me Plutman, get squirtle on the board. This is your tailgate. And we agreed that Port-a-Potties would not be that close in the actual. That's 10 feet to the portals. By the way, you have babes.
Starting point is 01:30:16 You have babes. You have babes. You have babes got to get out there. We can crop the image so that it's just the one-baked sandwich. Look at us. Yeah. Yeah. But you have a bigger taste in mind.
Starting point is 01:30:27 You guys have Medello, which they're not allowed to have. This is a tailgate. You're just in the woods at a creed concert. What do you mean that's not a gate? You're a burning man with some chicks you met on the side of the road. You literally don't have a tailgate. You don't have a truck. You don't need a truck for a tailgate.
Starting point is 01:30:42 Yes, you need some type of vehicle. Absolutely you do. No, you don't. Didn't you say the Grove isn't a tailgate? Yeah, I think you did that. They don't have a grill. And there's no trucks. Yeah. Pull up the grid. The thing about pickup truck is it solves so many problems. It gives you a table.
Starting point is 01:31:00 All right, boys. Rodman. How about that? You were in your Well, no, wait a minute. Which one? Robbins. Top left or bottom left? Bottom left feels like the more obvious, Rodman. Let's think about it, though.
Starting point is 01:31:14 That's also Orlando Woolridge. Stottemeyer. Steve Nashman will love? Robert, Robert Ory for top left? There's a lot here. I'm going to worry. This is a powerful. All right.
Starting point is 01:31:23 Hang on. Powerful. Relax. Everybody, everybody chill. Maybe we start with the Hall of Fame. Jordan. Jordan. Michael Jordan.
Starting point is 01:31:32 Michael Jordan bottom right. Michael Jordan bottom right. We start there. I like that. This has to be the highest ever, right? Wow. That's that. Who else is putting?
Starting point is 01:31:40 Because Derek Rose just went in. Scotty Pippin, I guess, as well. So do we do? David Robinson or Duncan or Robinson? Or Duncan Robinson? They won't see it coming. Robinson, yeah. I think it's Tim Duncan.
Starting point is 01:31:51 I believe it's Tim Duncan as well. Duncan. And he ain't front. Drive the Rock and he'll show you something. Well, let's go Tim Duncan. That's the biggest tape ever. Yeah, we'll pick your poison on which tape you want to use. Probably a small one.
Starting point is 01:32:02 Tim Duncan top right. I'm going to say a name, and it's the first one that came to mind, and I think that's kind of the exercises. Don't overthink it. You want to say it on three for the middle right? Yeah. One, two, three.
Starting point is 01:32:16 Barcliffe. Barclay. Yeah, Barclay. Barkley. Middle, Middardle. Yes. Middle bottom. There we go.
Starting point is 01:32:24 Jimmy Butler. Hold on. Everybody slow down. Everybody relaxed. Because I'm thinking Harrison Barnes top middle. I'm getting Harrison Barnes top middle. Chris Paul I mean Kevin Durant
Starting point is 01:32:37 I'm getting Chris Paul Yeah I'm getting Chris Paul I'm getting You could also go I'm getting Durant Middle Middle You gotta go Durant Middle Middle Middle You gotta go Durant Middle Middle Middle Darrant Middle Middle is in no doubt about it
Starting point is 01:32:46 Wait And I Yes And I think Jimmy Butler might be Pretty obvious as well Yeah there we go Wait what just happened We missed the guess
Starting point is 01:32:57 CJ what happened I don't know I hit enter What do you mean We have four guesses left You got restart You got restart You got to restart because you can't just cheat us out of this.
Starting point is 01:33:06 I pressed enter and it said no. Oh, no. TJ, what happened? TJ? I don't know what you want me to do. I want you to have five guesses left. You can't press enter where nothing's on the... Fine.
Starting point is 01:33:18 I do the exact same thing. Oh, this is an asterisk. This doesn't have an asterisk. No, this is how... This is Galaraga. This is Galaraga. This is our Galaraga moment. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:33:29 All right. So that's Dunkin the top right. Oh, now we're getting ads on the bottom. And now we buff the percentages. This is Barclay. Yeah. We have buffed the percentage. Jordan bottom right.
Starting point is 01:33:39 It might not have been Jordan. Everybody relax. Oh, no. Middle middle is Durant. And that's where we are? Yeah. Okay. That's what I just did.
Starting point is 01:33:48 Yeah, but all those numbers are higher now. Yeah. Oh, no. Jimmy Butler? We did cheat. I think we cheated. Do Jimmy, do, check the first one. Check the first one.
Starting point is 01:33:58 The numbers. 52. Yeah, Barclay went up one. Markley went up. But it was already, it couldn't have been. It could have been other people. But wait. It was already over,
Starting point is 01:34:09 already 50. It was already locked in. You never know. Couldn't lose. Do you want to do Jimmy Butler bottom middle? Yeah. Yeah. Jimmy Butler.
Starting point is 01:34:17 That feels, that feels good. Jimmy Butler. All right. Now, it's, it's Chris Paul, top middle. All right,
Starting point is 01:34:26 or is it, is it Barnes. I feel like Barnes is more obvious to me, but I don't think it's going to be more. I don't think Paul was that obvious as a spur, was he? Or as a warrior. That's what I mean.
Starting point is 01:34:37 I don't know if people know Chris Paul's... I like Barnesmore. I like Barnesmore. I think in a pinch you take the most popular player. I don't think we're in a pitch. We have two tabs open. We could go back to the first... No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:34:50 Stop. We could. Juice the... Let's do Nash Middle Left. All right. Lakers? Nash Middle left. I like that.
Starting point is 01:34:58 What do you think, Brandon? Not Bradley Beals. Not. So, top left I got Robert Ory. Middle left, I got Robert Ory. Maybe it's DeAndre Uton. Could be eight. Oh, fuck.
Starting point is 01:35:07 We still have to settle with Spur Warrior. It's got to be. Rodman's bottom left, unless it's run our test. But Robin can be top left or bottom left. I think it's more about. Rodman's bottom left. All right. Do Rodman bottom left.
Starting point is 01:35:21 Do Dennis Rodman. I'm okay with that. I'm okay with that. It's not great, though. Orlando Wolver's was right there. Robin Lori. Top left. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:37 How so? Anybody got a better one? House of Horrors, H-O-R-R-O-R-S. Lamarcus Aldridge. Did Paul Gasol go on the Spurs? Did Alderge? He did. All right, middle, middle top. I'm either Harrison Barnes or Chris Paul. Go. I say Barnes. I think Chris Paul. Okay. Then it's Chris Paul if you think Chris Paul. I think I'm talking myself into Chris Paul.
Starting point is 01:36:08 That's probably Chris Paul. good number. Um, I, Nash or Aiton, Brandon? Nash. It's got to be Nash. It's Ait's Ait. It's Aiton. It's Aiton. It's current. Kids. Two time MVP. For number one pick. All right, do Aton. Do Doudre Aiden. Oh, fucking Nass. Two time MVP, Brandon. Of course the kids know Steve-o. Then you want to go Pau? Do power. Doesn't even matter. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It was asterx. I like Do ory, do Robert Ory. Robert Orr is a crate.
Starting point is 01:36:50 Rodman Nash. Oh, no. No, it was Nash. We would have. Who the fuck said DeAndre fucking Aiton? There's no fucking way. Who the fuck said Aton? That's unbelievable.
Starting point is 01:37:07 That's truly unbelievable. We didn't go with your tennis playing partner? Hand up. Breaks headphones, breaks the grid. That's the show. Hand up. We'll be back. back tomorrow.
