Hello, we're back, people.
Welcome to a brand new episode of Mum's the Word.
I'm Georgia Jones.
And I'm Kelsey Parker.
Today, Kales reflects on how she's feeling a few months.
Well, it's not a few months, actually, is it?
How many months is it since Phoenix passed away?
Three months now.
Oh, is it three months?
Gosh, it feels like longer than that.
Yes, only three months.
only three months. So we reflect on that. And we chat about the chaotic life of solo parenting
whilst Danny's away on the McFly a tour. Fly Fee busted tour nonetheless. Oh yeah. Oh they
they they they they're they they're they're they're they're they're up there. Yeah. It's a
battle. So grab a cup her. Get comfy and let's jump in to this brand new episode of
mums the word. So Kels how are how are we feeling? Are we are we, are we, are we,
Are we all right today?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm all right.
You're all right?
All right.
We're all right.
All right.
Do you feel like you're kind of...
I don't know how to say this in a nice way.
Do you feel like you're settling into kind of like a new normal after the last three months?
I think you just learn to live with it each day and take each day as it comes.
And, you know, we've been giving this for a reason.
We are getting on with it as a family.
And I think, yeah, you're just...
I try to look forward.
and move forward all the time.
Yeah.
Because I think that's the only way you get through life.
Yeah.
Because I think if you just reflect all the time and go, oh, but this has happened to me
and poor me and poor me, then you actually don't move forward to your forward goals.
And even for the kids, for Will, for all of us, we've got to just keep moving forward.
And you and Will have actually both dealt with grief because Will, was it Will's dad that died?
Yeah, Will's dad died when he was 21.
Yeah.
So you two kind of like, I mean, as awful as it sounds, I've kind of.
have done it before so you know how it feels.
Little Bonnie thinks this is a little bit different this time.
Yeah, a little bit off.
When I'm getting all like the healing team in and we've had the house cleansed.
Right.
So you've gone full on Kelsey style and you've gone quite spiritual with it all.
Yeah, but it gives me comfort.
And I think to be fair, that's why I've met Will and found Will because he is very much
on the same page.
He doesn't think anything I say is crazy.
That's amazing
You know the other day
We had the lunar eclipse
And we were both out
We put water out
We drunk the moon water in the morning
He is very much on my page
Does the water absorb the moon?
I love that for you cows
Like that's the thing with grief
Is you've got to do
What helps you
Don't you?
Yeah ultimately
And if that's drinking moon water
Then you drink it
Drink that moon water
how are you feeling about the future?
Are you looking at it in like a positive way of, right,
let's kind of move forwards with life and plan for a future?
Yeah, I think people are so worried to go,
oh, what, are you going to try for another baby?
I would love to have another baby.
Okay.
So that's not off the card.
You've not gone.
No, it's not made me not one of another baby.
I think more it's probably made me want a baby even more
because I was so prepared to have a baby.
Yeah, yeah.
And, you know, Will hasn't got his own children.
He absolutely adores mine and they absolutely adore Will, which I'm so lucky and fortunate
that they have got the most amazing relationship.
But Will does want children of his own.
If we can, then we will continue to try for a baby.
Yeah, so that is on...
It's exclusive to mums the word.
Exclusive to mums the word.
Oh, we'd love an exclusive.
Kelsey, you heard it here first.
Well, that's good.
That's a lovely, like, kind of positive thing to think about for the future, isn't it?
I think, as well, we, you know, we touch on this.
People were going to judge, aren't they?
And I think, I think as well, that when I was actually pregnant with Phoenix,
and this is my regret that I would have, that I feel like I hid a lot
because I was so worried about what people actually thought about me.
And, you know, she's pregnant with another man's baby.
But it's like, how can people actually be that judgmental and that opinionated?
because I've actually now lost that baby.
Yeah.
So I actually was, I didn't tell the world
what I wanted to tell the world
because I was holding back.
In hindsight, do you really wish you actually had done now?
Yeah, and I feel upset with myself
that I let other people make me feel that way.
Yeah.
Because why?
Do you think you've almost like got a bit of a new way of thinking now
like I don't care I'm going to say?
Yeah, and do you know what?
I've been doing it more on my Instagram
because we spend our life worrying about what other people think.
Like, oh, I better not say that
because I might get trolled.
Well, fuck you.
Yeah, Kelts.
I don't actually...
You say it out of it is, girl.
It's true because, you know what?
Whatever I do,
people are going to judge me.
It doesn't matter, yeah, but it doesn't matter what you do.
I could drink out of that purple water bottle.
You could drink out of your purple water bottle
and I could be judged because mine's a lighter colour.
You could be judged because yours is full of juice.
Yeah.
Like, it's literally like you could sniff wrong
and someone might have a problem with it.
Like, you can't do a thick.
without someone having an issue.
But even I know that when people comment on me
you go on these profiles
and they're like a nurse or a teacher.
Some people, I thought it was all faceless.
Well, I saw Megan McKenna posted about her little boy crawling
and someone had passed judgment on him being 11 months maybe
and he wasn't crawling or something like that
and I messaged Megan like, what the hell is wrong with people?
Honestly.
But how can you judge a baby as well?
I'm like, oh, what you're not walking, right?
Yeah, do you know what I'm going to do?
Troll you.
Yeah, troll you.
Your baby's not walking, that's it.
You must be doing something wrong.
Like, Aurelia didn't crawl.
Aurelia just got up and walked.
And that's why I text Megan going, don't worry.
He might just get up and walk.
Some babies don't crawl.
Like, we're not all the same.
Exactly.
But I want to say that the lady did it was a nurse or something like that.
Like she was like.
It baffles me.
And it wasn't just the first time.
That's why Megan's outed it.
because she's like, do you know what?
It's actually not the first time you've actually commented on something.
But it's just like how, I just don't understand how these people sleep at night.
It just actually is beyond me.
They must be so unhappy.
It's the same with some journalists.
I'm like, how do you go to bed at night and just sleep soundly?
But I think when you read some journalists articles, when you read it, you can tell how unhappy they are.
Yeah, you can tell.
With their writing.
You're like, bitter humans.
Oh, that was shodd, nedge to it.
Well, what was the last time you had sex?
Yeah, you didn't have a relationship for any chance.
Have you got no friends?
But it is that what you give out enough is what you get back.
Yeah.
I am not worried about what anyone thinks anymore.
Because I've always said it and I don't, I never,
maybe I did care subconsciously because I just didn't really share my journey
because I just couldn't bear people commenting on an unborn baby.
Yeah.
And obviously some people are so happy and I think that's what always takes away as well
that some people are just so happy for you.
Yeah.
And they're like, you deserve this happening.
You go.
But it's that, it's that a common thing of we only see the negative.
Yeah.
So, you know, you could have 100 comments and positive.
One bad, you're like, oh, that person thinks this have made.
It's like, what about the rest that think lovely things?
Yeah.
I'm not entertaining it anymore.
No, don't.
And neither is shelter.
We're not entertaining it.
So does everyone stop being mean?
We're not having it.
There's just no need.
Also, people will say stuff about you.
Like, that is it.
The world you live in.
Yeah.
And, you know, that is just being human.
You do say stuff about people and you're a liar if you say that you don't.
Yeah.
What's that saying?
Opinions are like assholes.
We've all got one.
Yeah.
But do you know what?
Keep it yourself.
Yeah.
Like, tell a friend.
If it's not kind, don't tell me.
No, we don't need to know.
Just tell someone else.
Yeah.
I've got my friends to keep me grounded, okay?
So I need you to tell me I look shit.
Some stranger.
I don't care if you don't like my outfit.
I don't care if you don't like that.
It's fine.
All my parenting.
Yeah.
Sold off.
Yeah.
So, well, there we go.

kind of you know you're forging your path now after everything that's happened and you
you've got a strong village around you like I bet Julie's been an absolute force hasn't she
oh mom and Diane yeah good I can't knock my village because I'm so lucky to have them
yeah yeah good and Kelsey is of course I can't forget Kelsey I saw your post saying
yeah when are you going to get Kelsey on the podcast we just get her
We should do a joint.
If you do a like triple.
A joint and Kelsey.
Right.
Let's question.
To be honest.
So Kelsey is Kelsey's best friend.
I reckon if we got Kelsey on, we won't get a word in Edwards.
No, that's it.
It would just be like the Kelsey show.
It would, wouldn't it?
Absolutely.
So, how are you finding being a solo parent, honey?
Well, you know, it's...
I am going to judge you at this as well.
What?
I'm joking.
We just spoke about judgment.
Yeah, you're going to go, poor you 36 days.
Yeah.
I mean, the things.
thing is I'm used to it right but this is actually a really long stint because what does he normally
go away for normally we've got like a two two three week rule of him being away and then you know
I used to kind of travel around and go to you can't know but it's you can't when your kids in school
unless you go for like you know just the weekend but it's so right when you go to Australia
when you go to Australia yeah but it's hard and it's a joke it's the weekend though that is
effort yeah yeah and it depends where I always haven't went to
Tom was in the band and I didn't have kids.
He's like, can you come here?
No, because I actually think it's really boring.
But also, like, we've got things on.
Like, like, because Danny was like,
especially now.
Yeah, he's like, so what shows you're coming to you?
I'm not sure yet.
I can't commit to.
London.
Yeah, London.
Yeah, London.
Yeah, I did London.
Yeah, that's it.
And it was great.
And sadly, James isn't there for Busted.
He's not very well.
So it's, because I saw all this thing.
So he's not left busted.
No, no, no, no.
He's just a poorly guy at the moment.
So now who's in Bastard?
So Matt and Charlie.
However, James' brother did come on stage and play for a little bit.
Do you know what's funny?
I don't know if you used to find this,
is that when the boys are on tour,
you get into such a routine at home.
And they come back, you're like, oh, you're ruining my routine.
Yeah, and the house is never cleaner.
And, like, all the washing's done.
And, like, you know.
You've got no one else to rely on it.
a bit like I've just got to get it down myself and then like my sleep's always quite good
because I when I'm on my own I go to bed at about nine o'clock and I'm just like right in bed by
nine you know I go to bed I'm like literally the same George like and obviously it obviously
one's different when Tom did like when Tom died it was that for me like I just go to bed at
nine o'clock yeah and I watch a little bit of something then like be on my phone and probably
do a little bit more work in the evenings to what I do now because then you enjoy
with your partner.
Yeah, yeah, exactly, like sitting and watching something.
I said to Danny, I was like, you know, I really miss, you're cooking.
Yeah, how are you getting on?
Well, you're good at cooking now, aren't you?
Not compared to Danny.
You're not Master Chef Jones.
He's a banging cook, really is.
Is he?
Yeah.
So I am missing that.
I said to him, might even do it.
Is he happy to cook?
Oh, he loves it.
Loves it.
So he'll prepare the dinner.
Yeah.
He'll say, this is what we're having.
Do you say what you're having?
Or does he say?
Well, sometimes that is sometimes ask my.
opinion. I'll sometimes sell him. He did last night. That's what I wanted.

Will you dare to join me?
Listen to paranormal activity with me, Vetfielding, wherever you get your podcast from.
It's a funny one because it's hard.
It's the initial bit where there's so many logistics, especially as us, Carols, there's
like working more.
There we are.
They're going right there again.
Oh, bloody working mums, eh?
But it's such a juggle.
They're miserable ones.
Because you've got like, you know, I don't want to stop any of my work.
So I've got to try and find, and because obviously my village is up north.
Yeah, it's the juggle.
Yeah, I've got to try and find ways of, like, still doing the things I want to do
whilst also, you know, daddy being away.
So it's just that like, yeah, it's hard because even the small-din for the school run, Will could have done the school run for me.
And I sort of like mentioned it because we had an early recalled.
But I am a control, not a control freak because I just know that the kids want me to do it.
Yeah.
Like if I'm not there, they then moan.
Like if I'm not a pickup, it's that, well, oh, you're not coming.
They get so upset.
So I am like obsessed with actually being there for them.
It's so funny, I watched like a, it's like a.
sketch on Instagram yesterday. It was like women. It was like wives asking the husbands to do
something. And they're like, can you empty the bins? And then the husband's like, yeah, yeah,
I'll do it. And then we just stand there and stare at them because they aren't doing it right
at that second. Like they're just doing now. Yeah. That second they get asked to do it. It's so
funny though. I feel like, well, that was Will this morning because I went, you could do the school run.
And then when I came back, I went, I'm not being funny. Well, I went, you could have done the school
and he went, well, I thought you was joking when you said that.
I was like, well, I'd sort of hinted.
You didn't pick up on the hint.
They don't pick up on him, so, Cal's.
No, you have to actually just tell them straight.
It has to be lemon terms.
Can you get up and do the school round?
Yeah, like, literally.
So I can sort myself out and put some makeup on and make sure it's not on my teeth.
Sorry, you got me for that, Kels.
I'll sort you out.
Oh my God, it was so funny when my sister's just turned 40,
talking about doing makeup.
and she was so hungover.
I just made her sit down in front of me
and she was yawning the whole way through it
with her eyes closed.
I was like, right, just sit there.
What, and you did her makeup?
Did her makeup.
Oh, you're a good sister.
I was a good sister, yeah, actually.
We've all been...
So hungover, yeah.
Yeah, well, we had to go to a wedding in Portugal
and I feel like the day before the wedding,
I got quite drunk.
Do you know when it just hit you as well?
You're like, I'm really drunk.
And guess I haven't drunk for nine months, have I?
Of course, exactly.
Exactly, yeah.
So we went to this wedding and I was trying to do my makeup for the actual wedding.
And I literally had the shakes.
You're like shaking.
You're like, oh, my God.
And then when I went to the wedding, I wore, it was in Portugal, I wore spanks.
Yeah.
To the wedding because obviously I was quite body conscious because I'm not.
How far post part?
Like, what was that?
Well, even like two, eight weeks maybe.
Yeah, yeah.
And I just felt horrendous.
and I wasn't in the vibe like luckily Jeff who looks after me with styling and stuff
he got me a dress because I was not motivated like Will's mum's like you've still not got
an outfit I'm like no because I don't feel great yeah so it's really hard to dress yourself
when you're not when you feel like shit yeah basically yeah so I put this outfit on oh well I had
spanked underneath but you know like the full body spanked yeah it's the bra I think I was so
oh god was it really hard to know to the point where i was like i think i'm obviously i'm hung over
i've got the shakes i'm dehyded and i'm in a full spank after it's actually making me feel
a bit sick just thinking about it i i was like to well sister i mean you can have time to sort of me
i went i've got to take these spanks off and i took the whole outfit like underneath off
and i was like why did i wear that anyway no but that is not me no you know i took it off
because i actually thought i was going to pass out can you imagine just you add to it all

I actually felt like
I couldn't breathe though
Like my ribs
Everything I was like
This is awful
Do you know what
I'm really gutted
That autumn's here
And we're gonna have to start
wearing jeans again
Because I was so
In my dress
Where it's not restrictive

Oh my God.
People don't talk about
how uncomfortable

It hurts, doesn't it?
I'm saying now
and Jane Sheld.
I know.
How's it feeling?
How's that way?
Yeah, but I know what you mean.
Anyway, look,
I've got my Marks and Spencer's
boyfriend jeans on.
Oh, I'm ripping.
God, you thought you'd notice
when I walked in.
I'm so sorry.
I mean, I am the queen of
Marks of Spencer.
No, what is it,
Dressonation.
Yeah, that's good of right,
yeah.
Thanks.
You've given me a little
Good. Supportive. Supportive. Supportive co-host.
Yeah. Well, thank you. I appreciate that.
When I wanted, I thought she'd go boyfriend James Marks is.
I should have done. Damn it. I missed a trick there.
Do you know what's so funny is when I actually went shopping for this?
Again, it was that moment. Okay, this is how awful I feel about myself.
I was going to a baby shower and we had to wear the color we thought the baby was going to be.
Right. So I had this blue outfit on and I hated it.
So I actually went into blue water and bought myself a whole new outfit.
because I just felt horrendous.
So anyway, I'm buying these jeans.
Aurelia just actually cracks me up.
So she's going up to the old people with Marx and she's like,
so how old are you?
No.
She's got no filter this girl.
No filter.
She was like, oh!
They absolutely loved her.
They said their age and she went, oh, my grandma's older than you.
She's just so funny.

Do you know, just talking about grandma, about your mum, how has she been?
Has she found everything okay with, you know, with the bit, with Phoenix, losing Phoenix.
I think of my mum, she's so tough.
Yeah.
Do you feel like she's been, had to be tough for you?
Yeah, I think she's my rock.
But then I'm also like, mum, it's okay not to be okay.
You don't have to be brave and tough all the time
But I think that's my mum's only way to get through life
Yeah
She's just like
What are you call her, don't we say?
Dhan's cold as ice
Also, so have you done any therapy?
Yeah.
You have, right?
I thought you were going to say no
I thought you were going to be like, I don't need it
But obviously you know my therapy
will be different to your therapy
Yeah, yeah, but I've been having therapy.
Okay, good.
And do you feel like that's been like
something that's really helped yeah but i think with me i have an understanding of everything and
that's how i can cope yeah because i understand why why it's been sent to me yeah yeah yeah i mean
i can i can actually put things into perspective and a box but maybe in a different way to other
people how they look at it but that's how i can get through life and i'm okay yeah i mean it's it's
a power that you've got really because I think if it was me I would have been like why would this
happen to me? I think we're sent in life what we can cope with. Yeah. And I think I can cope with
a lot. Yeah, I think that's why I get sent in it. You've always been a very strong woman. I think
I've cried more than you over things, haven't it? Sometimes. Right, George, it's all right.
It's all right, John, please. Please stop crying. Back to Danny. Back to Danny. So when he
comes off tour what's what's the first thing well he's got he's got he's got other plans
yeah he's off on a motorbike turn he's not I mean I wouldn't be surprised but no I think when
he gets back he is going to I think he's going to have just a bit of time because he doesn't
the tour doesn't finish until like November and then it's like nearly Christmas so yeah he'll
probably be in the studio for a bit and they're all falling apart though
buys though Harry's got bad back and then they're not spring chickens anymore like you can tell you're all
approaching your 40s in this with this tar well it's a lot though that takes a lot on your body oh god I know
I just think that again when you're not in it people from the outside think oh my god it's so
glamorous like they're also in like dark rooms backstage for a long period of time it's late
nights your body clocks all over the place like and I pretty sure
It's a job and Danny's probably getting paid really well to do it.
And, you know, that's a positive.
But I think actually your well-being when you're doing that and they are older is tough.
I mean, it's like two and a half hours of cardio, really.
Yeah, running around, jumping.
Yeah.
And because it's a long show because Mcfly do an hour, busted doing an hour.
So do they not have a support act?
No, no.
Yeah, because it's a two and a half hour show.
So yeah, it's McFly, then it's busted, then they're together.
Love it.
Yeah.
great it's a really good show like really good yeah i was i was so they have a break when busted
come on though yeah they have a bit of yeah bit of time and then and charlie and danny do a very nice
duet that's it duet i was like solo that's not right duet together which is yeah it's a really good
one you have to come watch it kales yeah i know where else do mom's a word night out yeah where else are
they playing they're coming back to the o two so they've done they've done three dates in london but
they're coming back again yeah for another three i think
Wow.
I mean, we've got this new app where I can see, like, you know, everything.
It's incredible, Kells, because I'm like, oh, you're staying in that hotel tonight, are you?
Oh, and you go in there.
So it's very handy.
Oh, I love that.
Yeah, very handy.
What's the app called?
Find my friend.
Yeah, find my friend.
Yeah, find my friend.
Everyone's got that on their phone, Joe.
He's called a tracker.
And I've put it to the underneath of the car.
I haven't, Daily Mail.
Yeah, no, that's huge what I was going to say, George.
You've literally set yourself up for a headline there.
Let's see if they actually print it, though.
Oh, is it right, yeah.
No, she's got a tracker on him.
She's got an air-tagged, she's air-tagged him.
We are all air-tagged, actually.
Are you?
Yeah.
Well, I mean, we're not air-tagged.
They're on all our keys.
Love that.
Yeah.
Which I think it's a really good safety thing, don't you?
Yeah, yeah, it is.
I think it is.
If I disappeared, at least Annie would know where I was.
Yeah, and what have you got on?
on Cooper, nothing.
Like when you travel,
you put,
loads people put air tags on there.
Yeah.
But however,
they don't work
if there's not a phone
near them,
do they?
No, I don't really know
how they work.
Would you really
disagree with an air tag
because it's a mitting
rears?
Yeah.
I knew it.
I couldn't say it.
I knew she was going to say that.
Also,
I just think,
do you actually need an air tag?
Are you alright being in this room
because I do have an air tag
in that bag?
I thought,
I thought I was having to me.
She knew she could feel
something in her soul.
I just think,
back in the day,
Our parents have anything like that.
No, I know, I know, but...
Do you lose your keys a lot, though?
Danny does.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm fine.
Yeah, me and Danny are like similar like that because I'm terrible.
I mean, we'll must just be like, Kelse.
The things I lose.
You know, when there's that...
Our brains are going.
Yeah, a million miles an hour.
Yeah.
No, that Danny is terrible.
But it's always right in front of him and he just can't see it.
You can't see it, though.
You can't see it.
It's like, it could literally be like that where's that water bottle.
let's literally
right there
no so
I don't track my
she doesn't track our husband
we don't track
each of us for safety only
safety only
nothing else
oh good Lord
um
that's the end of the pod
right
it's the end of the podcast
we don't
we always go a bit rogue
don't we
I know I wonder if anyone
actually understands us
through our like
laughter
I know they're probably listening
we like chuckle
and talk at the same time.
I know, we do, don't?
We were just like,
and we found ourselves so funny.
I bet you people listen to judgment and go,
they're not even that funny.
Yeah, I don't know why they keep laughing at themselves.
Why do they keep laughing at themselves?
Like, they're hilarious.
Well, we're back, guys.
We actually think a million other things whilst we're saying it.
Because I know I do.
I do.
Like when you just said that, I'm thinking,
Tadley Mow, the sun.
Someone's going to say this.
Someone's going to remember.
Imagine saying stuff and actually having that thought in the back of your mind,
though, that someone is going to.
to write something about what you've got to say.
It's ridiculous, isn't it?
It's just so silly.
Like, you can't say anything.
But it's the world we live in as self-employed women.
I know.
We haven't mentioned that recently.
But that's the thing.
It's impossible to have a joke nowadays, which is sad.
No, you can't joke about anything.
Can't joke about anything.
But we will.
We'll continue to do some.
Probably continue to make headlines, Kelsa.
There we go.
But we don't care anymore, do we?
We don't care.
We don't care.
We don't care about your comments
and the day you know and the sun.
Keep comment in
because it don't bother us.
Don't bother.
I'm not bothered.
Oh my God, you've got the best
accent to do that.
So, Kel's, that's a wrap on your other episode.
