Hello, hello. Hello, hello.
We're back, people.
Welcome to a brand new episode of Mums the Word.
I'm Georgia Jones.
And I'm Kelsey Parker.
And do we have an episode in store for you today?
We catch up about our half terms.
You're tired.
And tired.
And emotional.
And really tired.
And as ever, jump into your
listener questions. No, and I hate it when another parent undermines your parenting and
like goes, oh, it's fine, don't worry, he can do that. And I'm like, no, he can't do
that. So grab a cuppa, get comfy, and let's jump into a brand new episode of Mums the Word.
This has been half term.
Yes.
Why do you look so drained from half term, Dr. Hart?
I'm a broken woman, Kels.
Are you?
Yeah, I am.
Why?
Not because I didn't get all the help in the world at half term, because actually-
Yeah, I know.
You went-
I went home.
I went back to mum and dad.
Danny had work, so I was like, right, do what I always do and took went back to mom and dad's, Danny had work, so I was like,
right, do what I always do and took Cooper
back to mom and dad's.
But it was a house full, so it was me and Cooper,
and then it was my sister and her two kids
who were eight and 10.
And it was just a lot, it was like,
I feel like I get like sensory overload in situations
when there's lots of children screaming.
And she's got two boys in the show.
Two boys, three boys.
And like, I mean, mom and dad are amazing.
Mom like is just such a mom and she cooks the best food.
And dad takes them out and takes them biking
and all these things.
But I was a million miles an hour while I was there,
you know, and you just don't stop.
And just before I'd gone, my eyes had done that thing
where they flare up and go all swollen.
So I knew I was getting like run down,
I knew I was just a little low ebb.
And then while I was back home,
like years ago I got bitten by a spider on my nose.
Yes, True story.
And ever since then, whenever I get run down,
it flares up.
So like honestly, if I was to show you,
I'll show you a picture after.
What, your nose swelled up?
It all swells up, it all goes like crusty on the outside.
Like they basically think what happened
was when I got bitten,
cause you know like MRSA, that dangerous bug or whatever it is,
it lives on everyone's skin.
So they think that when I got bitten,
the MRSA went into the wound.
And now when I get run down,
it makes my, yeah.
So then that started happening.
Well you know what you need to do,
don't you Jolta?
Oh, I'll take some of your,
see my home you pav.
Oh my god, I pulled some of Kelsey's crystals.
Yeah. And I said, we will get, you're a pal. Pulled some of Kelsey's crystals.
We will get rid of this for you.
Take some of her special medicine.
Yeah, so there was that.
And it was just like, then I had to come back to London,
then go back home and then come back with Cooper.
He didn't want to come back.
He wanted to stay at my mum and dad's,
which was lovely to know, but.
Was he okay when you left him up there?
He's absolutely fine.
He couldn't literally, couldn't have even.
Bye mom.
Couldn't have cared less.
And then I got back and I've just like,
hit the ground absolutely running.
And I just feel like I am, oh no.
Oh no.
What?
You're not gonna cry are you?
No, no, no, yeah I am.
Why are you gonna cry?
No, because I'm so. You're tired gonna cry are you? No, yeah I am. Why are you gonna cry? Because I'm so.
You're tired.
I'm tired.
And emotional.
I'm really tired and I just feel like
I'm just trying to do my best for Cooper
but I just feel like I'm not being
the best mom at the moment.
Oh George.
I know, silly.
We all feel like this though as parents.
Yeah.
It's hard.
And I just feel like, I just try and do everything
to make his little life as good as it can be.
You know, sometimes you just beat yourself up
about things, don't you?
And you feel like you should be doing everything better.
But I just don't have the energy right now.
But you can only be the best you can be, that's it.
I know. I know.
And even if that's not even doing anything,
like really, for my kids, the last week of half-term,
we didn't do loads.
Like I had to work, I had to do things,
and I get that mum guilt because there's no one really,
you know, there's no dad to be like,
oh, I'll take them out and do whatever, it's just me,
and it's like, well, mommy's gotta work.
So it is with all, we all go through this.
And I think that's it as well.
Like I want to do it all on a card,
I'm trying to keep everybody happy.
And do you know what I think for us parents as well
in half term that like you said,
you've actually relaxed properly
and it actually makes you worse.
Like I struggle when I have time off.
Like when I went to Greece for them three weeks,
I then got really sick.
It's like for me, I'm just go, go, go.
And I work best.
I liked this morning was a struggle to get up.
Oh God, yeah, it was for me.
The school when it was like, oh.
I just didn't sleep last night as well.
You know, when you're like on the brink,
when you've not had much sleep,
takes you back to like newborn days.
But I just, and also I feel like when I go back home,
when I come back to London and back into full blown work and parenting mode,
it's almost like, back to reality.
And it's a bit like, oh God,
I'd gone into being looked after mode.
And then you come back and it's like,
oh God, I've got to adult again,
I've got to be the adult again.
It's like, what are you making for dinner tonight?
Yeah, and do you know what?
Sometimes I don't want to be an adult.
Sometimes I just want to sit
and be waited on hand and foot or something.
Do you know what I really want to do?
I just want to go to one of those cabins
in the middle of nowhere
and just sit on my own and read a book.
I think I've said this before.
It's still not happened, Kelsey.
Does any of those nice cabins
that are in the middle of nowhere,
can you please?
Anyway, she says all this,
she'd absolutely hate it.
She doesn't do it.
I probably would hate it.
I'd probably be like, oh my God, I can't do this.
I need to be on my phone.
She'd be like, where is everyone?
Yeah, and I'd be scared.
Yeah.
I'd just be scared on a night.
I'd be like, yeah, no, it's not for me.
But I just feel like I just need to sit
and then maybe go into the woods and have a scream.
Yeah.
I'm gonna be all out.
Anyway, how was your half term?
Yeah, do you know what?
It was actually really, really nice.
I went away the first week.
I went to Kent to-
Were you two weeks off?
Your kids had two weeks off?
Yeah, they had two weeks.
Oh yeah, cool.
So the first week we,
and that's why I think they struggled going back.
Yeah.
Because they had two weeks with me.
Yeah. And did you go away with Will?
Yep.
Was that your first little trip away?
Official boyfriend, girlfriend?
He came to camp in and stuff with us, so no, not really.
He's used to us as a family now.
Family time.
That's when your mom, oh your mom.
Because I just saw your mom the other week.
Oh my god, I forgot to say that Aurelia
is actually obsessed with you.
Is she?
And so is Bodie, they're obsessed with you.
From the baby show, they're obsessed with you.
She's like, mom, why don't you just message Georgia now
and say, Georgia, are you my best friend?
I was like.
Oh my God, shall I send her a video message?
Yeah, you should be like, hi, how are you?
Yeah, and then even yesterday,
oh yeah, because I was speaking to you yesterday
and she was like, oh, you're speaking to Georgia.
And then-
Is that when you sent me the picture of,
no, that was this morning, wasn't it?
You came up on Instagram, so she's like,
oh my God, it's Georgia, so you have a fan.
Because she's seen you on stage.
Oh my gosh, I love that.
At the baby show.
Well, that's made me feel a bit better.
At least somebody loves me.
Yes, she loves you.
So can you just pretend that you're my best friend,
just for a moment here? Absolutely, girls. Georgie your best friend? I can do that. I can do that, no problem.
I think we are. Oh yeah, we did the baby show as well. We did. Again, but life is like, you know,
I went away to Whitstable for the week. It was fantastic. Oh no, I have to tell you this story.
So we went and stayed in a shepherd's hut for the first night.
And Aralia was absolutely hilarious.
I think I did tell you this.
Tell the listeners though.
I'll tell the listeners.
I'll pretend to like surprise.
So I don't know what I'm raising.
Bearing in mind, this girl does go camping
and we do stuff outdoors.
Like I just can't believe she actually said this.
You're raising a boozy bit.
Show us what you're raising.
So we turned up at this shepherd's hut,
which was literally a double bed and a bunk bed
on top which the kids had to share. She got there she went oh no, she went I'm not staying
here. I went what? She goes no no no she went mum, will, this is the worst day ever. And
then she turned around to Bodie and went to Bodie, don't worry, Bo, we're only here for one night.
Tomorrow we go to a house with a hot tub.
Did she know, so she knew the next night
she was going to my with a hot tub.
I think in her head, yeah.
You set yourself up for a fall there.
Never tell them that they're going on to something better.
Well, the thing is that Shepard's hut
was a little added adventure.
Otherwise we were just going down the day later.
So it was actually, they wouldn't have even gone anywhere if we weren't going to sing the Shepard's hut was a little added adventure. Otherwise we were just going down the day later. So it was actually, they wouldn't have even gone anywhere
if we weren't going to say the Shepard's hut.
But it was so lovely.
There were sheep, there were like chickens walking around.
We went to the arcades in Dimchurch.
I'm like, what more can you want?
Exactly, but she's just been camping before as well,
hasn't she?
A few months ago.
But then it was hilarious as well because that night,
she then was up in the bunk bed.
Bodie had gone to sleep.
She was leaning over the bunk bed.
Will's watching Arsenal.
And then he's like, she's trying every trick in the book.
She's literally like, so what are you watching?
How are Arsenal doing?
She doesn't even like football.
Can I go to the toilet?
Can I have a drink?
Literally, she must have fallen asleep
at about half nine, 10 o'clock.
Bojie wakes up, he was up for two and a half hours.
Do you know when you're like?
Oh, what, in the middle of the night?
In the middle of the night.
Oh, curse.
And you just wanna go to sleep, I was so tired.
And I was like, you need to go to sleep.
You need to go to sleep.
Do you know, that's it as well though.
That's why I think I'm so tired as well
because when I was back at Mom and Dad's,
my sister's kids have later bedtimes
and Cooper was not for going to bed at his normal bedtime.
What time did they go to bed?
They got to bed about nine.
So I guess they're that bit older.
So I was like, I wasn't getting my evening.
And I always feel like that's such an important part
of parenting.
It's hard to-
What are you gonna do when he gets older though, Jo?
Oh, God knows.
I need my evening.
Cooper, it's six o'clock.
What do you mean you're 15 and you're still up?
It's six.
You still go to bed at 7 p.m.
That is it.
I don't wanna hear it.
No, I mean, it's fine.
It's different when it's your kids though, isn't it?
Yeah.
And Cooper, like, yeah, I don't know.
And I think that's why I'm tired as well
because I haven't had any of my-
Me time.
My evening me time.
And also, I just think as well,
the half time then they just become ratty as well,
don't they?
Yeah.
Because they do stay up late.
Yeah, exactly, exactly.
We went to a firework display at the weekend
and they had late nights and then yesterday
they were just in really foul moods.
They turn into different children
when they're about late at night.
I'm like, just come and lay in bed with mum.
Let's just have like a day in bed on a Sunday.
Yeah, let's just have a movie day.
Yeah, but they can't, like a radio just can't sit still.
Does Cooper sit still?
He does if it's something he's enjoying.
Do you know what he's well into at the moment?
Inside, you know the film Inside Out.
Oh my God, we watched Inside Out too.
Did you?
Yeah, so Inside Out too,
he'll just watch it every, whenever he can.
I think that is actually such a good film
to navigate their emotions and how they're gonna feel.
Yeah, I completely agree.
Like, yeah, if anyone, any listeners
have kids that are struggling with their emotions. Yeah, I completely agree. Like, yeah, if anyone, any listeners have kids
that are struggling with their emotions.
Watch it.
Watch it, especially like the second one
where like there's the anxiety emotion
and like, oh, there's another one.
What's the really big pink one called?
Can you remember?
It's like, it's not fear.
It's like, it mops about a bit that one.
Anyway, I can't wait. It mops about a bit that one. Anyway, I can't wait.
It mops about a bit that one.
But it's so interesting.
I can't wait for the next one
because there was a hint wasn't there at the end
that the next one's gonna be about puberty.
Ha!
Oh!
I was like, that one's gonna be such a good one to watch.
So we did the baby show, didn't we?
And it was brilliant.
Like, it was a bigger crowd
than the first time we did it, wasn't it?
Because-
We had a crowd, what,
because I brought more family members this time.
Yeah, basically there was two extra people
that were your kids.
No joking.
And it was good, wasn't it?
Because people asked questions.
People asked questions, they didn't shy away.
And I just feel like it really worked.
Yeah, yeah.
With everything we had to say.
Yeah, and we had Claire Bourne, didn't we?
And Dr. Marta on, psychologist and women's,
a women's physio, so she basically checks your bits,
pre and postnatal, doesn't she?
You didn't actually talk about her fingering you?
Yeah, she did.
She did finger me after I'd had Cooper.
Not a pleasurable experience.
Not the kind of thing.
To be fair, I did take her number
because I said, you need to look at me.
Because you wanted a finger in.
I was like, I'm a bit jealous.
You finger, George, can you finger me?
No, I said, you need to take a look.
She said as well that there was so many more options.
She said that what the private doctor said isn't quite true.
So she said-
Is this you talking about your prolapse?
Yeah.
She said, I think there is more option out there for you. Well, I think there is,
but I think we're not told about it.
No.
This is the huge issue as moms is there's all that care
running up to you having the baby.
So making sure the baby's okay,
making sure mom's healthy, checking.
We've not got gestational diabetes.
I did it.
Well done me.
Thank you.
All those things.
Then you have the baby,
and then they're like, okay, on your way.
Still checking the baby's all good.
How's that baby doing?
Couldn't care less about what the mum's feeling.
Yeah.
One of my friends, oh my God,
the aftercare of her stitches,
I can't eat because she had quite a few.
I can't begin to explain
what a mess she got into with it all.
Because the problem was the aftercare was so shocking. because she had quite a few. I can't begin to explain what a mess she got into with it all.
Because the problem was the aftercare was so shocking.
They just kept telling us she was fine.
Yeah.
And she knew she wasn't.
Well, we did say this at the baby show, didn't we?
Get a mirror and look and see what's going on.
My mom was like, get the mirror out and look, Kelsey.
I mean, to be fair.
Yeah, but to be fair, if you did look,
you'd probably think your organs were falling.
I feel like that now, Judge.
Yeah, well, yours are, aren't they?
Yeah, so hopefully she's gonna be able to fix me.
Yeah, well, she will.
She will fix you, trust me.
She's a miracle work, that woman.
Anyway, that episode will be coming,
two mums the word, at some point in the near future,
won't it? Yeah.
So we recorded it live.
So, oh, God knows what it's gonna be like
if we recorded it live.
Well, I mean, this is all live, but this is live,
but live on stage.
Live on stage.
But I think it went really well.
They want us back, so.
We're going back next year,
which we will be telling you about a little bit more about.
So I feel like we did smash it.
We did.
And it's just very real.
And I feel like as well, we're so different,
like our stories are so different.
Yeah.
But it is when obviously I talk about mine,
like literally you can look around,
like it's weird saying, like obviously when we're here
and we're talking about me and what I've gone through,
I can't see anyone.
No.
So when we was actually on stage
and I was telling my story,
you could literally see everyone's jaws, like, ugh.
Yeah, well people don't know how to react.
No, they're like, oh wow.
Don't know how to react to death.
Yeah.
And I don't think anyone ever will.
Like, what do you do?
I wonder whether anyone was dying
to ask you a question about Tom.
Yeah.
They probably wouldn't have, but leave that to me.
Yeah.
George, can you ask it?
Leave that to me.
Do you have a favorite movie? I don't know, I don't know. Yeah. Don't write jokes, can you ask it?

Another thing me and Kels have done,
together but apart,
was go to the Pride of Britain Awards.
We did. Did you cry? I mean Kels isn't much of a crier so I'm gonna go with no you didn't.
No I did. You did? No at Pride of Britain I just I actually struggled with being there
and in that I actually find that harder because I've lived it I know what their experiences
are so it makes me really emotional.
I actually didn't even do the after party or anything.
No, we didn't go to after party or anything.
Will came and picked me up.
Did he?
Where are all these chauffeurs that you're getting?
It's called pick you up.
Where am I my friend?
Well that was it, Dean said that he would pick me up
and then I was like, Will, come on mate.
Yeah, you're like, pull your finger out.
Dean's picking me up, you better come and get me.
He was like, okay, we'll pick you up.
But I was like an emotional wreck when he picked me up because it's just so, you know, I don't want
to say sad's the word. It's inspiring. But also you see the children and I had a friend there,
Amy, that she lost Dilly this year. He was only four and he died of leukemia and then there was
that little girl that had leukemia, Florey.
She was just amazing.
So then Amy was in the toilets.
We were all together in the toilets crying about Dilly.
I mean, it's just.
Yeah, cause you've experienced it.
You can fit, you can, I mean, even when you haven't,
it hurts, like you can probably feel it in your heart
and your soul, can't you?
But for you having experienced it,
I mean, I can imagine it's a million times.
I did not stop crying the entire time.
And also, you've then as,
I can't imagine what a parent would feel like.
So it's just, but again, inspiring stories.
Yeah, totally.
Me and Kel's found each other as well.
I'm getting my phone out
because I've got something to show you.
Yeah, here we go.
What are you showing me?
Well, listen.
Gilda, is it something being horrible to me again?
No.
You made it again.
Again, right?
Listen, I'm a bit bitter
because I haven't made it onto the worst dress list.
What, have I been called a green goblin or what?
It's Shabazz again.
It's Shabazz.
He knows, he knows.
He knows, he knows he's gonna get talked about by us.
What's he saying?
Right, you ready?
What's he wearing this time?
He's got some kind of hoodie on.
I think it's food related one, but I mean, yeah.
But he's not on a red carpet.
How can he even come at me?
Are you ready?
Come at me bro.
Are you ready?
Next we've got this outfit and I listen, I do like it.
I don't think it's bad
however
You know this bit here looks like they forgot to take the cardboard thing out of the dress and you look like you're in pain
Or you forgot to breathe
Well, I weren't breathing because I wanted to look really skinny on the red carpet and I had
Spanx on too that were pulling me in
Oh my god, yeah, and I do agree with him
with the end of the dress. Yeah I was quite confused about it. I didn't notice it on the
night but then when he pointed out it was pitched I was like yeah what have you got
in the end of your dress? That's what my auntie said the end we didn't have enough time but
the bottom of the dress needed. I didn't have a stylist I winged it I only found out on
literally the Friday that I was going and actually decided to go so I
Play I mean I do look like him in pain. He likes the dress. I like the dress
I was in pain does he not realize what these events are that they are painful. Yeah, you see is pain
He's lucky cuz he's a blow. Yeah, you don't have to wear a corseted dress
No, I mean he could if wanted to.
But I just think when you're there actually
on the red carpet, you're just like, whoa.
And I just, I don't know, this year I was just
all over the place.
I don't know why I was all over the place.
I don't know, again, it's maybe a memory
because obviously when I went with Tom,
I had to get him up that red carpet.
And I think when I'm there, it just makes me sad
that that's like a memory of us being together.
NTAs is different, we never went to the NTAs together.
Is the last time you went to Pride of Britain
the time that we saw you and Tom?
No, no, so I've been after, but like as in with Tom,
yeah, we were on your table, weren't we?
Sat together.
Because he wasn't well then, was he?
No, and he had that really bad, he had a really bad limp.
And I remember him, and when he got cold, he got worse.
So he like seized up.
And I remember being on the red carpet thinking,
Oh my God, like, why is no one coming to help us either?
Like, it's me trying to get him up there.
I guess obviously they've got other people
that they're looking after on the night.
Would he have wanted someone to come and help him though?
You know if someone had come over and said,
can you want me to help you?
We think he'd have been like, fuck off.
Yeah, probably.
I'm all right.
No, I just wanted to have a go at me.
What are men like?
They just probably want to have a go at me, wouldn't they?
Yeah, yeah, it's our fault.
Did you organize this?
Sorry.
But me and Kelly, we did find each other
across very crowded room, didn't we?
Yeah.
Actually you found me.
Yeah, I could just see you.
So you radiated towards me.
And I was like, there she is.
Like a gorgeous vision in green.
And then we were saying to Danny,
he needs to come on this and also,
he needs to, his ears must be burning
when we talk about him.
Yeah.
All the time on this pod.
All the time, every time.
Really today.
Apart from today, we're not talking about him.
He doesn't get airtime today. We're talking about him right now. time, apart from today. Apart from today, we're not talking about him.
We're talking about him right now.
Yeah, it's lovely.
It's obviously, I love seeing my friends there.
I think that's the whole YouTube going to events like that
because it's people in the room that you don't normally see.
Yeah, it is.
It's people in the industry that you don't catch up with
really outside of events like that,
but it's always really nice to see them.
Who was the most famous person you saw there?
Oh my God, this is a story.
Oh my God, so I was in the toilet, right?
And Simon Cowell comes into the ladies.
It was Simon Cowell, stop it.
Simon Cowell comes into the ladies' toilets
with his security, they're like,
Simon needs to use the toilet.
What, what, what? I know. Hang on, wait, what, Simon needs to use the toilet. What? What?
I know.
Hang on, wait, what?
This isn't a world exclusive.
Why was Simon Cowell in the ladies toilets,
using the ladies toilets?
Because he couldn't, I don't know,
because he didn't want to go anywhere else.
Couldn't go to the men's?
So he couldn't go to the men's,
so they brought him into the ladies toilets.
But why?
We were all stood there,
like I was laughing so much,
and I turned around to this, another lady,
and I went, well, never thought to see the day.
Simon Cowell in the ladies' toilet's with me.
What, did he push in queue?
Did he push to the front of the queue?
He then actually got him in
and they got him straight into a cubicle.
Wow.
And he was like, oh, hi ladies.
Did he say hi?
Yeah.
And then went to the toilet.
He's really small, isn't he?
Yeah, I have met Simon before though.
I have met him in Barbados before.
Have you?
Yeah.
Oh my God.
New years, I spent new years with him.
Did you?
Simon, Mark Wahlberg, George, I don't know if you know
I'm a bit of a big deal.
She rubs, that's why you're on the,
I'm not gonna call it the worst dress list
because it's just me and I'm just putting you down
because I'm jealous, that's all.
People are talking about me.
People are talking about, hey,
I'll tell you what we've not talked about.
You were on Lorraine.
I was on Lorraine.
It was so great.
And that was in half term.
So again, it was like, in the end,
the kids stayed at my mom's, which was fantastic.
We had a Halloween party on Thursday.
They went straight from the Halloween party
with my mom back to hers.
And then, cause it's an early start Lorraine, isn't it?
Yeah.
And then someone had to come to my house really early.
So.
Did you watch, did they watch it?
Did the kids watch it?
No, they had swimmer lessons,
but when they came back, she was like,
"'Mum, are you on with your mate Lorraine today?'
She's my mate as well.
She thinks everyone that I do TV shows with are my friends.
I'm like, I wish.
Well, as long as I'm on the pedestal for a little while longer.
Yeah, you are the best friend.
That'd be great.
But you were very good on it.
I'm so glad.
You spoke very well about.
I think it's so hard doing them shows
because you get, like, that was five minutes.
Five minutes 30 I think I had to say
what you wanna say in five minutes.
And we all know what I'm like on this podcast.
Like I've got so much to say.
Yeah, who are you?
I don't know what you mean.
I don't know what you mean.
You're a wallflower.
And it's so hard because again,
even after that I came away and I don't know
why I did it.
I was on the Daily Mail and then obviously looked at the comments.
Oh, Kels.
Don't do it.
I know.
Don't do it.
And Will said, why have you done that?
I said, I don't know, but they are vile.
Oh, they are ruthless.
I know, they're so ruthless.
And I think what in the world makes you wake up and actually choose go online and be that mean to someone
What did they say? What what was oh no? It's just like basically do I ever shut my legs because oh
Stop it
Even if you didn't so what you wanted to go and have a
Fruitful life then bloody do it not that you did do it, not that she does, but you know.
But that's what, then you start thinking to yourself,
oh am I, am I living a fruitful life?
I think it makes you start, and then obviously the kids,
does she ever think about her kids?
I'm like, oh my god, you actually even know me,
my whole world revolves around my kids.
Yeah.
Just judgment, so I don't know why I do it, but.
Did you get upset about it?
Yeah, I was quite upset, and I think that's like,
I can switch out of it, but it did really play on my mind.
But again, because I'm in a new,
obviously it's not a new relationship,
but because I'm in a relationship,
it's just putting yourself out there, isn't it, for to be.
At least you had him to talk to about it though.
Yeah, but he's the most laid back person,
so he's like, I don't know why you're looking.
Why are you looking, Kelsey?
I'm like-
But you're like that normally.
Yeah.
You've met your match.
Yeah, I have met my match.
I'm like, oh my God, I need to add a taste of my own medicine.
Yeah, I'm like, why has he been so chill?
Be uptight with me.
Yeah, complain about it with me.
Yeah, I don't know why I did it,
but everyone on Lorraine and the editor came out afterwards
and was literally like,
in the gallery, you could hear a pin drop.
She said normally it's like hustle and bustle up there.
She said, everyone was just hanging off your every word
of what you were saying.
Because I'm doing it for other people.
And that's what I think makes me sad
because obviously I'm the voice now of widows and people.
And it's the whole, we're really going down a lane here,
but it's the judgment for me that because I'm a woman,
that's what pisses me off the most.
Oh, a man wouldn't get it, a man would not get it.
It's like, oh, he needs his food on the table.
He needs to be looked after by a woman.
He also might need sex.
But it's like a woman, it's like what she wants sex,
not even that I do want sex, you know,
sex is just part of being in a relationship.
But like I said, is someone to offload with a night?
Why would people want me to be on my own?
Exactly, why would people want you to be unhappy
and walk, what do they want you to be doing
walking around the house every night?
And also even for the kids like,
Will brings happiness into our house,
a different sort of happiness
that obviously when it was the three of us,
we were happy, but now he's bringing something else in.
Yeah, well he's bringing that different energy,
a male energy, a male energy,
which is something that kids do love.
They love a bit of that male energy.
And when Cooper's back at home with my dad,
or his cousins, and I'm like, oh my God,
what is this play fighting?
Because obviously he's an only child.
So I'm like, this is-
I was gonna say to you, is three a crowd with them?
I mean, it is for me.
Do they argue?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But like, does someone get left out?
No.
They really get along.
Yeah, they really get along.
But they play fight, which is what kids do.
But obviously-
Georgia, my brother still do it now.
And even last night, we was at a fireworks display,
my brother's getting me by my throat,
and like pulling me back.
Are they talking to you now?
You said that they just ignore you, like you don't around. Are they talking to you now? You said that they just ignore you.
Like you don't exist.
When they tried to come into the fireworks party last night
and blank me a little bit and I was like, hi.
And they were like, hi.
So they got over it.
They're over it a bit now.
They probably listened to the last episode
and me saying that they're not gonna get
any Christmas presents.
They're like, right.
Do you really think your brother's
listening to mom's the worst?
No, I don't.
I definitely don't think they listen to us. I'm not sure they're right demographic, Kelly. I was like, mom, Do you really think your brothers listen to Mums The World? No, I don't.
I definitely don't think they listen to us.
I'm not sure they're right demographic, Kelly.
I was like, mom, they better never listen to this
because I literally go in on them.
But yeah, going back to the whole male, female,
it is just annoying, isn't it?
Yeah, it's completely different.
It's same with parenting of,
oh, look at him being such a good dad
because he's looking after his child.
Because his baby's sitting in his child.
Honestly, it's happened so much more recently for me
because I've been working a lot more.
The amount of times someone says to me,
so who's looking after Cooper then?
And I'm like, you know I'm married and I have a husband.
Why is that?
Well, we weren't talking about Danny today. No, I'm not talking about him. No, I'm married and I have a husband. Why is that? Why?
I thought we weren't talking about Danny today.
No, I'm not talking about him.
Not talking about him.
I am married to someone.
Someone, who knows who?
We've got listener questions.
Woo, here we go.
So first one is from Abby.
What is the biggest difference in your parenting styles?
With me and you?
With me and you.
I think we're quite similar.
I would say we're quite similar.
You're probably a lot more laid back than I am.
I'm quite highly, I don't wanna call myself highly strong.
No, I don't think you are highly strong.
No, I am quite.
And I think we're similar with, we like a routine.
Like what you're saying, you like your evenings.
Yes, absolutely.
Evenings, the kids go to bed.
I've had you all day, now night.
Yeah, I probably would maybe worry a bit more.
I'm a worryer, aren't I?
Whereas you're a bit more like,
listen, what will be will be.
Yeah.
So yeah, I suppose that,
but we are quite similar, aren't we?
We're both the same, we're not strict,
but they know when we mean business.
Oh, they know, like Cooper knows if mommy's angry.
Yeah.
And it doesn't happen often, but it'll happen
when it needs to happen.
And then it looks like he's seen a bloody ghost.
Cause, oh yeah, they're like little days in the headlight
aren't they, when mummy shouts.
But yeah, Danny's a strict one.
She was really rude last night.
We were leaving our friend's house and they'd given her,
she was like, I want a slice of cake.
I hate when they start becoming bratty as well.
Oh, bratty, that is one of my worst traits.
I'm like, don't be a brat.
Yeah.
And also I think we're probably judged more on that
because our kids are in the limelight.
So I was like, you don't need a slice of cake.
So then they went and got her a slice of cake
and I went, oh, fantastic,
you can take that as your snack for school tomorrow.
She got the cake that was in the Tupperware
and threw it back into the house.
I went, she knew, cause I went, get in that car now.
And then she ran out and then she was stood by the wall.
Will was trying to get the kids in the car.
I mean, he literally is welcome to parenthood.
He's literally been dropped into the deep end.
So eventually get her in the car and then she's like,
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
So she's starting with the sorry straight away.
She knew, I said, that is so rude.
Well, well, well done for you for making a point of it
as well, because sometimes it's embarrassing to do it
in front of other parents, but you've got to.
Like a bit of embarrassment is.
That's what the thing is in Inside Out, in that film.
I think it's embarrassment.
I could be wrong, but I think it is.
Someone please message us, let us know what.
Yeah, someone let us know please.
I mean, I'm just gonna go and Google it in a second.
Do you ever find it really frustrating
when you're trying to set boundaries
and your kid's been a bit rude and you've gone,
no, you're not having that.
And then whoever is initially offered it comes and goes,
oh, it's fine, there, take it.
And you're like, no, I'm trying to instill.
And they're not backing you.
No, and I hate it when another parent undermines
your parenting and like goes, oh, it's fine,
don't worry, he can do that.
And I'm like, no, he can't do that
because I've told him no, so he's not doing it.
Anyway, I'm zipping up at that moment in time.
Oh, I just, do you do that? No, I don't do it. I know other people that do it and i'm zipping up at that moment inside me do you do that no i don't do it i know other people that do it and i'm like
oh god it's so it's i mean i reckon every parent must find it infuriating when another parent
i wouldn't do that though i'd keep my mouth shut if you were a parent in cooper
i would probably agree with your parenting and be like, yeah, I was getting involved and go, oh no, Cooper, it's okay, I'll give you blah, blah, blah.
No, your mom said no, you're not having it.
I mean, there's maybe been an occasional time
I've whispered to my friend,
if he really wants it, he can have it,
if you want him to, if you don't mind.
And then they'll go, no, no, leave it.
I'm like, yep, right, fine, I will respect your wishes. But, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, How do your children cope when fans approach you? Oh, Cooper wants to get in the photos.
Right, bless his little heart.
He's like, mommy, why can't I be in the photo?
I'm like, oh, darling,
because I mean, they're not really wanting photos with me.
It's more photos with Danny, but occasionally-
You're just the plus one.
I'm just the plus one, don't forget.
But actually, in a service station the other day,
I got recognized.
Did you?
I was impressed by a tuna and cheese melt.
Yeah, and it was just me and Cooper,
because we were driving up north,
and a woman came over to me, she went,
well, I mean, she went, I got recognized.
She went, I love your husband's work.
And I was like, oh, fuck off.
What about my work?
What about mum's word and all the things I do?
My M&S skills. Have you not seen me on Marks and Scales? I've just been on and all the things I do? My M&S.
Have you not seen me on Marks and Scraps
as behind the scenes?
I've just been on stage at the baby show, how dare you?
No, she was really lovely actually.
And then she's like,
would you mind if I had a photo with you?
Blessed little Cooper, he's like,
mommy, can I come in here?
And I was like, no, you just stay there.
You stay over there, honey.
I control what pictures he's in.
I don't want him to be in all these.
No, and it would be weird.
It would be really weird.
But he doesn't quite understand it yet
as to why he's not allowed in these fours.
Well, I mean.
Aurelia just thinks that I know everyone.
So when people come up to me and like Kelsey
and they're talking to me, she's going,
mom, mom, obviously they're in mid conversation.
How do you know them?
And I'm like, what's their name?
Shut up.
Also really awkward if you meant to know them and you don't. And you've forgotten their name. I'm not gonna know a fan, am I? No, what's their name? Shut up. Also really awkward if you meant to know them
and you don't.
And you've forgotten their name.
I'm not gonna know a fan, am I?
No, hey, by the way, actually Cooper suddenly realized
that Mummy might be a little bit cool too.
So he doesn't really understand what it is I do.
But me and Kelsey do like to listen to ourselves
when we're in the cat.
And because we do separate episodes, I listen to yours and you like to listen. We're we're in the car. And because we do separate episodes,
I listen to yours and you like to listen.
We're just really supportive of each other.
And I was listening, it was actually one of,
it was you and me.
And Cooper went, mommy, is that you?
And I was like, yeah, darling.
He's like, you're on the radio.
And I was like, well.
It's a podcast.
I was like, it's a podcast.
We were wrong with this being a radio
and you being impressed with mommy
being a little bit cooler being impressed with Mummy being
a little bit cooler than your dad.
Yeah, and I was like, yeah darling,
this is part of one of my bits of jobs that I do.
And he was like, wow.
Oh, I love that.
And actually the other day, when you were on Lorraine,
Cooper was with me and I said, that is Kelsey
and that's who I do the podcast with, that's who you heard on Mummy's radio in the car.
And he was like, oh.
So actually our kids are fangirling each other.
Fangirling each of us.
Yes, that's quite nice, isn't it?
Yeah, I just try and keep the kids out of the pictures
with the fans, but they,
yeah, Aurelia just stitches me up really.
I'm just like, shh, shh, shh.
I mean, I'm not at all surprised. Yeah, you're not just stitches me up really. I'm just like shh, shh, shh. I mean, I'm not at all surprised.
Yeah, you're not surprised at all.
Last question, Tina, how do you relax
when you're not with your kids?
What's relaxing?
I don't understand that question.
And also, I think that when I'm not with the kids,
I then can't relax.
Yeah.
Like I have these dreams that I'm like,
oh, you know, they're off to my mom's,
I'm gonna chill and do whatever,
but I end up working.
Yeah, you go, right, now is my time to see you from home
and get loads of stuff done whilst I'm not here.
So, do you know what I found more and more recently,
I don't know if it was just because like,
I've not been seeing my therapist for a while
and I could probably do with going back.
Can you book it for later?
Yeah, no, I really need to.
Is that when Cooper's not there,
my anxiety seems to get worse.
Not my anxiety of him not being there.
I just feel like he's become my comfort blanket
a little bit, and when he is with me,
it calms my nervous system down a little bit.
I can just hold him.
Sometimes I go in at night and just like stare at him.
Yeah.
Just like, just look at him and I'm like,
mommy's here.
I mean, it sounds so cheesy when I say it.
I just stroke his little cheek and I'm like,
mommy's here.
I'm like, I wonder if he can hear me in his dreams.
Just get me going.
Nightmares.
Yeah.
She's there telling me off again.
God save, mommy's stroking my cheek
and I'm just trying to sleep.
I think as well, what you're saying about the anxiety
of them not being, like when they're not with you,
is that you're not then in control.
I think because I'm like a control freak.
I know that they're fine when they're with my mom
and whatever else, but it's that like,
well, like even when they stayed at my mom's,
I was like, ha ha, good luck to Diane
because Bonie had been waking up
at 4.30 since the change of that clock.
He woke up at half seven.
Oh, of course, of course he did.
So I rang her after Lorraine was like,
so, how was last night?
She was like, yep, Aurelia woke up at quarter to seven,
we went downstairs, we done our homework,
and then Bode woke up at half seven, I went, sorry what?
Yep, Bode woke up at half seven. I, sorry what? Yep, Brody woke up at half seven.
I was like, that is just so out of order.
And then they come back home and they go back to the river.
And then back to half four.
Hello, mom.
Yeah, wonderful.
Get in bed with me.
Yeah.
They know how to play us though, Kel's, don't they?
They do.
Well, that's another wrap on another episode.
I don't know how we all felt about that episode.
Well, hopefully it'll make a lot of moms out there,
parents out there feel a lot better about themselves.
I definitely feel better about myself
because me and you were like,
I feel like we rub off on each other on episodes like this.
When you're brain dead, I'm brain dead.
I know I did kind of a bad influence on this one, wasn't I?
But at least people will know that this is life.
This is life.
Still gotta record a podcast when your brain's mush.
We spoke about our hectic half terms

which is coming soon.
