Hello, hello, we're back people.
Welcome to a brand new episode of Mums A'Wared.
I'm Georgia Jones.
And I'm Kelsey Parker.
And do we have an episode in store for you today?
Georgia gives us all the lowdown on Danny's entry
into the jungle.
There was one bit where Danny was getting electrocuted, he was crawling through this washing machine
and he was getting electrocuted and then the next day I found Cooper with his head hanging out the washing machine.
My dad was stood there, he wasn't pretending he was doing a bush tucker trial.
Oh, I love him.
Why moving house is so stressful.
Would you have any tips for anyone moving house?
Don't do it.
Don't do it.
And as ever, we jump into your listener questions.
So grab a cuppa.
Get comfy.
And let's jump into a brand new episode of Mums the Word.
So how are the kids?
Yeah, really good.
Yeah?
Well, this episode's basically about you, Georgia, so maybe I'll just talk about my life before we talk all about you.
Kelsey's really bitter.
Couldn't swim, we did a whole episode on top.
Yeah, I know.
Do you know what, we had our K2K Stars Gala at the weekend.
For anyone that doesn't know what K2K is.
It's my performing arts school that I run with Kelsey and I've had it since I was like 21
and it's my baby and it's my passion
and I still do it every Saturday I'm there
and the kids train during the week.
So we always do a gala and a show.
So the gala's quite nice because they do a little show
and then we'll sit down, we have food
and then we party until.
Oh, is that the difference between a gala and a show? Well, the show is just a show at a theatre and they change costumes.
We try and like keep the costumes quite simple for the gala.
How old are the kids?
So we are like they range from the babies didn't do it.
We have actually like as soon as they're walking, they can come like 18 months.
So baby ballet is the cutest.
Baby ballet and then the eldest we've had is like 18. Oh wow and do you need to
catch up and watch the video of Aurelia? Yeah so Aurelia sang Where Are You
Christmas from The Grinch. Cindy Lou Who. Was it cute? So cute. I mean imagine if you went no it was shit.
No do you know what I don't want to be that mum that's like my kid is so
talented but actually she is.
She's got a natural ability for singing
and she just loves it.
Whereas Bodie, he loves it in rehearsals,
but he gets quite overwhelmed when he's on stage.
Do you know how Koopa's a bit like that?
Is he?
Yeah.
He does love it, because I think people must think,
oh, why is she making him do it?
But he loves it all.
He loves coming to K2K.
And I think with him, it's his outfits,
you know what he's like with his outfits.
He has to wear a glittery waistcoat,
and he's like, oh, well, they put me in now.
This isn't for me, mummy, don't want this.
Have you got your tree up yet?
No.
No.
Are you?
No.
I mean, you could have done that, moved in,
had the box for Christmas decorations
and just put them all up. Yeah, well, I'm not that organized, Kelsey.
Couldn't even find my, oh, they packed my car keys
at one point, I was like, oh my God.
Where's my car, oh my God.
Where are my car keys?
Thank God we managed to find them quite easily,
but yeah, anyway.
Yeah, and I guess you're not gonna really be prepared
for Christmas this year.
No, not really, I just, I feel so unprepared
in life, full stop at the moment.
But really, what does it even mean, Christmas?
I know, as long as I'm with my family
and all family are together,
that's all that matters for me.
Where are you having Christmas?
In London, at ours.
What, and your mum and that coming?
Yeah, mum and, because it's tricky,
because my sister's in London as well, so.
It makes more sense for them to come more sense either we all go back up north
Oh, we are everybody comes to London one or the other really so it's like splitting it between me and my sister
Oh, that'd be really nice. Danny's family are coming slow. So get them down. Yeah, I'm helping. Yeah, get everyone helping
Somehow we're gonna talk about the move in a minute. Yeah, I just want to go straight
Can we just talk about the move? We are on that switch talk about the move in a minute. Yeah. I feel like I just want to go straight to the move. Can we just talk about the move?
We are on that.
Should we just talk about the move?
Let's talk about the move.
Let's talk about the move.
So how was it?
It was stressful, Kels.
Do you know what?
I actually had it when we moved, Kels.
Obviously when we moved, Tom was, he had cancer at the time and he was doing The Wanted.
They were doing an album launch.
I think they did like the greatest hits, were doing an album launch.
I think they did like the greatest hits, didn't they?
It all seems like a bit of a blur.
And I had to deal with the move.
Again, it was like, this was like my pre,
like Kelsey, you're gonna take the reins now
and this is gonna be your life.
Because Tom would have dealt with all of that.
And basically the house we were moving into,
they lived in Australia, but they'd staged the house for people to go in and look at it because obviously it had been empty, they'd
rented it out. So literally the day before all of the furniture from the
staging company was still in there. And I was like it all needs to be taken
out because obviously when you sign contracts as well like that is then mine
Yeah, it's not is this the staging the companies the staging. Yeah
I don't know. Yeah, like the interior is like company that put just so they're in and it's so funny because I've now
Made friends at the gym of course with the owners of the company
Yeah, and they said that was so stressful. They had to go in at 12 o'clock at night
and they were moving all of the furniture out.
Oh my gosh.
And then we went in the next day.
But yeah, Tom was not even around.
So it was a bit like you that it was just-
You almost got a soft launch into life being a soul parent
and doing it by themselves.
That's what I like.
That's what really bothered me actually was
cause I was like, no, I'm gonna be fine.
I can do this.
I'm an independent woman.
I'm a working mother.
And then I really, really struggled.
And I was like-
Well you had a bit of a curve ball.
You didn't see that coming, did you?
Well, no.
And like, it was like the minute Danny left,
the hot water went.
And I was like, I don't know how to deal with this and then the sink blocked in the kitchen and I was like
Oh my god, what why is this all?
Yeah, probably what is quite DIY?
Yeah, yeah, he's been Danny. He just get called DIY damn. Oh, yeah
So Tom was not at all. Was he not? No, that's probably the only difference in those two
Yeah
Yeah and so normally he would have just sorted all that and I was he not? No. That's probably the only difference in those two. Yeah.
But yeah, and so normally he would have just sorted all that
and I was like, I think it makes you suddenly realize
how much you might rely on someone.
So it's been quite a learning curve for me.
And I mean, in a positive way,
if we were to look at it with using Kelsey's brain,
it's a positive thing because like,
I've learned to be more independent.
So that's good.
And also I think in life you need the plan B.
Yeah.
Of whatever's gonna happen to you.
Exactly, very true.
And you do need to do the pink and the blue jobs.
Yeah, yeah.
And be able to do them.
I do a lot of blue jobs,
but it's more of like taking the bins out
and like catching spiders.
I mean, it might not be when Danny gets back
from the jungle.
But before we move on to that,
the other thing that then happened,
so we'd got in, eventually got into the house an hour late.
I'd obviously been in touch with the removal companies.
We had three vans of stuff,
just letting them know we're running late
because of the keys.
And then I messaged them, we got there at three,
and I was like, we're here, so, you know,
free for them to come whenever.
Got to four, and I was like, where are they?
Where are my, where's my belongings? So we just stood there twiddling our thumbs.
Anyway, they eventually arrived at about half past four and the guy, one of the guys was really
stressed out, like really stressed and a little bit later on I was like, can I help you with
anything? And he was like, oh sorry, I'm just having a really bad day, I actually need to talk to you.
I was like, all right, and he went, I'm one of the fans has been in a crash
And I was like what with your stuff in it with all our stuff in it. Yeah, and he went some of the things haven't made it
like what a whole set of drawers and
Just it like lots of things were dinted and so was like, oh my God, have all the things happened.
Are you suing them?
No, just getting, we'll just get, you know, reimbursed for the items that have been damaged.
Yeah, they smashed my, I had a whole mirrored dresser.
Oh, completely smashed.
And they picked it up and the whole top mirror shattered.
Oh no, did they re you for that then? They didn't reimburse,
they went and fixed it. Fixed it? It looks the same but it doesn't look the same. They
went and took it off and got it. I was like, maybe that was my bad luck. No, because you
didn't do it. You don't get it. That's their karma. So Georgia, let's go back. What did
you say to them on the phone?
No, it was face to face.
He showed me the picture of his van and everything.
Oh yeah, you were on the phone.
Yeah, he showed me, he was like,
he got the picture up of his van.
And I just went, are you okay?
Because it didn't look like someone
would have come out of that unscathed.
Like the whole front.
What did they crash into?
I think they had maybe gone into the back of something
by the looks of it,
because the whole front of their truck was just
Demolished so I love that that's so Georgia. Are you okay?
I thought God he must have hurt himself and then he's in my house looking things up and down stairs
I'm probably thinking how am I gonna tell her? Oh, yeah poor guy. I went who's fault
I first went who did it and he went it was me
Do you own the company or do you work for the company?
No, he was the owner.
Oh, that's even better.
Yeah, I suppose it's better, isn't it?
It was quite an emotional,
well, it was a very emotional day
because I love our old house, as did Cooper,
and we didn't really want to leave it.
We just were so connected to that house.
It's where Cooper was born,
but like you've got to think of what would be better
for Cooper in the long run.
Would a big garden be nicer for him?
Yes, it would.
So.
It's the memories you make.
Yeah.
And he, and he, Cooper kept saying that to me.
He was like, mommy, I'm really sad
cause we made so many memories in this house.
And I was like, I know sweetheart.
And do you know what?
And I said to him, I was really like honest.
I was like, do you know what?
Mommy actually feels a bit sad too.
I said, but there'll be lots of new memories
that you can make in that new house
and you can have your friends over
and you're gonna be able to play football in the garden.
He's like, yeah.
And he's like, okay.
Not bothered about the old house now.
We always drive past my old house.
Do you?
I took both the kids home, obviously got around.
The kids always go, mom, we lived there, didn't we?
And I'm like, yeah, it's literally like one road away from us.
They're like, mom, we used to live there.
I'm like, yeah, we did.
Oh, yeah, it's a funny thing though, isn't it, moving house?
It is.
Especially if you're quite a sentimental person,
which I am.
And then you move into a new house and nothing's the same.
And I said to you before, didn't I?
I'm not good with change, so change is hard change is hard hard for anyone really hard for me because I have got OCD
Have you sorted a lot out? You've got stuff out of boxes yet. Where are you at?
We've done quite a bit. So quite a bit has come out of boxes
I've had my mum and dad here for the week for the well, yeah for nearly a week
Just helping me which has been a week, just helping me,
which has been a lifesaver.
Oh, it was so funny.
So bless Harry and Izzy.
They were like, we'll take Cooper for a little bit.
So Cooper went round to Harry and Izzy's house,
and then I got a phone call from Harry,
and he was like, Georgia,
is Cooper allergic to antihistamine?
And I was like, no, why?
What's happened?
He went, I think he might be allergic to cats.
Anyway, Cooper came home, Kelsey.
Could you not?
He could barely see out of one eye.
Oh.
He was so swollen up.
So it turns out Cooper is very allergic to cats.
How funny that you- Yeah.
No, is none of your family, what's your, are you a mom and dad?
My mum is.
Oh, she's allergic to cats.
Yeah, mum's really allergic to cat, like very allergic to cats.
But I was gonna say, if they got any animals,
your mom and dad?
No. So he's not really been around? No. Kathy's got a dog, but I don't think he's allergic to cats. But I was gonna say, have they got any animals? Your mom and dad? No.
So he's not really been around?
No.
Kathy's got a dog, but I don't think he's allergic to dogs.
It's just cats.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
I know.
So you were like, oh, I've actually punished you
going to Harry and Izzy's.
And Izzy was like, I'm so sorry, Jodra.
I feel terrible.
But Izzy actually would.
Feels so bad.
I know.
I was like, Izzy, honestly, like I did have an inkling
that he reacted to them
because he's been around them before and got a bit itchy,
but his eyes just properly swelled up,
but their cat's long haired, so.
Yeah, bless him.
But is he happy?
He seems happy, he's been sleeping all right.
So.
I think kids are just resilient,
we say it all the time, they're so resilient.
Yeah, I think give him a little bit of time.
I mean, it's been such a funny time for Cooper though,
because obviously his dad's not here.
He can't even speak to him.
How is he without Danny?
Do you know what?
He's actually all right.
And I do keep checking in.
I keep going, are you all right?
And I say, you're missing daddy, and he is missing him,
but he's not like getting upset about it yet.
I mean, give him a little bit longer than he might be,
but at the moment,
I think maybe because he can see him on TV,
that might make it a little bit easier for him.
And what he watches, he finds funny.
Cause obviously he's doing well in there
and with creepy crawlies and stuff.
So yeah, it's all right.
It's all right,
but it's just been a hell of a time for him.
It's a lot for a kid to go through, isn't it really?
Oh, and for you and the family and just everything.
Yeah, yeah.
Danny just couldn't have better timing, could he?
Yeah, so I'm living a solo parent life.
Solo parenting?
Yeah.
What, do you have any tips for anyone moving house?
Don't do it.
Don't do it.
Don't let your husband go to the jungle and move house.
Make sure your husband is contactable when you do it.

Can I just say that I watched a clip of when Danny was so happy that he had a six pack
and it really, really made me laugh so much.
Oh, I know.
He said, I've got a six pack.
It was Melvin.
Melvin went, you're really shredding me.
You've lost all your body fat.
And Danny's like, yeah.
But when you think about it,
that's how people do actually get,
they actually stop eating.
Stop eating.
Starve themselves basically.
And that's what they're doing in camp, aren't they?
He seems to be doing all right with it though.
He seems to be doing all right with
the starvation side of things. I didn't think he would be I was gonna I didn't think he'd be okay with a limited amount of calories and like really bland food, but he's no he's doing well
I just feel like with Danny. It's a TV show. He knows his TV show. So you're just gonna get on with it
Yeah, he's getting because you signed up for it. Yeah, so yeah
And and he's really he's really taken to Barry because I think number one
I mean he loves boxing so he's probably a bit a bit star-struck by him. He's doing well. Um
We are coping. We're coping without him. Yeah, and does Cooper love watching him on there?
Oh my gosh when his
When that snake was in his trousers. What was Cooper
doing? Oh laughing his little head off and Cooper's best mate Jude came over to watch it at the same
time so it was just so dark. They were both laughing their heads off. Oh they were both having the best time watching him. Did Cooper say he would be scared if that was him? He didn't say because I said to him do you think you'd be able to do it? He's like maybe
but um he really like there was one bit where Danny was getting like electrocuted.
He was crawling through like this washing machine
and he was getting electrocuted.
And then the next day I found Cooper
with his head hanging out the washing machine.
My dad was stood there.
He wasn't pretending he was doing a bush tucker trial.
Oh, I love him.
Is he, what's been the reaction from school
and the school parents? Yeah, I mean. Are reaction from school and the school parents?
Yeah, I mean.
Are you famous at school gate at the moment?
Oh my God, one of my best friends,
one of my best friends who's a teacher
is like the coolest teacher in the land at the moment
because everyone's got wind that she's my best friend.
And all the kids at school are like that age
where it's so cool.
So she's-
There is like an age demographic for that I'm a celeb.
Like for the kids, that they just think it's the best show
and oh my God, and they're all talking about it all the time.
Yeah.
Hey, I went on the rain and did a bush trucker trial.
Mate, I saw you.
Did you see me do it?
Oh, you did, you posted about me.
Oh, you posted about me.
See, I'm more interested in you than Dani.
Do you know what, Kels?
I really appreciate that. Right, let's stop talking about me. Let, I'm more interested in you than Danny. You know what, Kels? I really appreciate that.
Right, let's stop talking about me.
Let's go on to the listener question.
Yeah, let's see what everyone else has got to say.
Right, so Audrey, what do you both think
is one of the biggest parenting myths?
Mine is, I believe that we can't be completely selfless.
We do at some points need to put ourselves first
in certain situations.
I mean, yeah, I've just been talking about wanting
to go on a spa day with no one there.
So you have to be selfish in parenting sometimes.
I think you have to definitely take time out for you.
And I feel like for me now,
it's taking that time out for me and Will as well,
because he's actually been thrown in the deep end,
doesn't he, really?
It's like parenting and whatever else. so I think it's really important and to just have that time for you. Mm-hmm
Yeah
Definitely like I think you because otherwise you're not gonna have the energy to be like the best parent you can be but then I do
Just think it's hard because life is so busy, especially
This time of year. Our lives are crazy.
Just nonstop, yeah.
Nonstop, there's always stuff happening
and it is about the kids this time of year as well.
Yeah, yeah it is, completely,
because they're doing their little Christmas shows,
they're excited that Santa's going to come and visit them,
they're being good boys and girls.
Oh, how do you feel about the Santa thing?
I think...
Do you not like it?
No, no, no.
I'm not gonna say that.
Do you not believe?
No, I just think it's a lot that people have seen
Father Christmas already.
I think it's...
Already?
Torment for the kids.
Not even December, is it?
I don't know, but I've seen people have seen Father Christmas
and we had an opportunity to see him at an event and I made the decision
for the kids not to see him yet because
I feel like the excitement, then it's like two months
of excitement for them, isn't it?
How many times do I say excitement?
This is excitement.
It's a long time.
It is a really long time.
I think mine are quite young.
Yeah, and it's a lot.
So then they're probably gonna keep asking you
if you went to see him that early.
Yeah.
When's it Christmas?
When's it Christmas?
And like, what am I getting for Christmas?
Can I have this for Christmas?
Yeah.
Cooper said to me,
said to me the other day,
mommy, father Christmas isn't real.
And I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Not having this.
And your dad's not even here.
Yeah.
For God's sake.
And I went, what do you mean?
And then he went, well, they're not all the same.
There's lots that I've seen a few different ones.
And I was like, what did you say?
Well, I said, well, yeah, because don't forget,
Father Christmas is so busy.
He's got to send his friends out to dress up as him
because he can't be everywhere at once you see
he's got to be he can well the night before christmas yeah no no because he's traveling
around he's not in all different places just very quick he's too busy making all your toys
that's what i said that's basically what i said you are gonna get so many toys and he he was
pulled in hook line and sinker he was like ah right okay oh that's great so i've saved myself
for another year. High
five. Thanks. I don't particularly like Christmas. Well, did you before Tom died? Yeah, I guess
I did. I like I don't know what I don't like about it. I guess now it's obviously missing
Tom and him seeing the kids. And I think it is that build up for, you know, we had the
show he's not there. Yeah, They're gonna have their nativities.
I mean, Bodie's a star.
He's got a star costume.
I just think that everyone just runs around.
There's so much money being spent and.
I just don't think you need to spend that much money.
Like I've really realized that,
like for the last few Christmases, I'm like,
what's the point?
Like just like get something that's really meaningful
or just being together is just so meaningful.
I just think it's about being together.
Anyway, we've gone off on a tangent.
We really have, right.
What's the next question?
We didn't really answer that one
because we didn't come up with any biggest parenting myths
but I think we probably both agree about the fact
that you can't be selfless all the time.
Also, I just think that's such a hard question.
Biggest parenting myth.
Probably that one. I would say that I would agree that one.
We agree.
And then also, if your kid is a fussy eater,
don't worry, because you don't meet many adults
that only eat chicken nuggets and chips.
No, it's so true.
Like, I think that's a parenting myth.
They get over it.
They get over it.
They'll grow up at some point.
And also, I just think everything,
everything you worry about,
they're not gonna be doing.
Like when they're in their 30s.
It's never as bad as you think it's going to be.
Right, next question.
Olivia asks, how did you find introducing Will to Rhea
and Bodie?
That's a really hard question.
How did you find it?
Like really easy.
I think Will's just, I took about a month's time, how laid back he is.
So he didn't really think that deeply and neither did the kids.
And did you pre warm them?
Do you know what, for me, just to be honest, like I just thought, do you know what, he might as well mean the kids
because I did have a boyfriend before, it didn't work out.
But the kids actually have never even brought up
the fact of my past boyfriend.
So I just think my kids are resilient
and it is what it is, you know what I mean?
If I'm with Will, if I could be with Will the next 10 years
and it not work out and I split up,
I could be with him for three months and it not work out.
I don't think you can really think like that.
So I just didn't make it a massive.
No, cause the thing is as well, I think,
cause you want them all in your life.
It then becomes very tricky.
If you don't introduce Will for such a long time,
you're gonna be spending a lot of time
without them, without the kids.
And I just can't do that.
And a lot of time without Will.
Yeah.
So really like if you introduce them, you know
Slightly earlier on kind of makes it easier for you doesn't it again?
There's no wrong or right time either people from the outside to go. Oh, she did it too quick, but that's me
That's the kids. They absolutely love will
You know you and your kids, you know, you know what's right for you. He's just such a positive
Impact on them.
Like the show.
Yeah.
Will loves Arsenal and Arsenal were playing on Saturday
and he was meant to actually go into the game
but he canceled because he wanted to be
at the gala watching the kids.
That has given Will massive brownie points from me there.
Can't wait to meet him.
I'm gonna be like, yeah, Will, well done, you.
Go Will.
Did they win?
Did Arsenal win?
Yeah, they did.
But he was happy because it was a win.
So, but yeah, he had to come and watch the kids
and he absolutely idolizes them and they idolize him.
See, that's lovely.
It's lovely for him to have,
that's the first Christmassy moment.
Was it Christmassy?
It was Christmassy, but he came to Hamleys with me.
That was when
we made the decision. It is funny though because Will keeps calling me a caver because obviously
he's learning about parenting and whatever and he thinks that I cave all the time. What
does that mean? Like that I give in to the kids. Oh you give in! I thought you meant
caving where you go down into a cave. No he says I'm a caver. I'm like look cave. No. Nice close-caming. No, he says I'm a cave-op. I'm like, look mate.
No, Will, you don't judge Kelsey's parents.
No, no, no.
Thank you very much.
You know what?
You pick your battles.
I don't think you are a cave-op.
You can't possibly be a cave-op.
No, sometimes I am like, you go to bed in 10 minutes and then it's like half hour later
and they're still up.
I'm like, but.
Yeah, but if they're causing no problems, sometimes it's nice, isn't it?
Right, go on, Kelsey, let's ask the last question.
Could you please bottle and sell both of your characters,
please?
The world could do with it.
Thanks, well, that's made my day.
But I do think we have got great characters.
Oh, I think you've got a lovely personality, Kelsey.
Thanks.
Yours is great, Jojo.
I feel like we just worked so great together.
I was waiting for you to say it back to me to be honest. I was like is she going to say
it back? Is she going to say it? No, I'll do it the way you're feeling. Come on, I just bigged you up.
You did, yeah you did. All right, all right, I'll let you off.
