We are back again people. Welcome to a brand new episode of Mums the Word. I'm Jotir
Shun. And I'm Kelsey Parker. And do we have an episode in store for you today? We'll be talking about me taking Coops to see Danny perform at the O2.
Or maybe not.
My reel of Cooper being at the show would be so different.
It would be him asleep with his little headphones on, fast asleep on a chair.
And why I didn't actually make it there.
Even though she was meant to be there.
Voice noted you, it was like, oh my god, law of attraction, I'm coming, we put this out to the universe, I'm gonna be there.
Until I actually realised that it was parents evening.
And you've missed parents evening before, haven't you?
I have missed parents evening before.
This isn't a first.
And as ever, we jump into your listener questions.
That's a big one, you only go for your writer little one.
So go grab a cuppa, get comfy and let's jump into this brand new episode of Mums the Word.
So Danny, my husband, are you married to Danny from McFly? Danny from McFly, yeah I am actually.
He had, well the boys had their...
You know Danny would be proper guided wouldn't he?
But I would never go like Danny Jones, I'd go Danny from McFly.
Do you know what?
So do I.
And with Danny from McFly, do you know?
With Danny from McFly.
No, so the McFly boys turned 21, it was their 21st birthday.
That's scary.
That's scary I mean, how to feel old, Jesus.
They had two or two shows,
like it was their big birthday party to celebrate.
And it was fabulous.
It was-
I was gonna say, was it amazing?
It was amazing.
Are you just so proud when they're on stage?
How do you actually feel watching?
Oh, it's incredible.
Like you forget that they can perform and sing like that.
You know, I just see him at home, not the dishwasher and you know being untidy. Do you see him in a
different light when you see him on stage? Do you fancy him more? Do you know what's really funny
because somebody said to me they went how can you be annoyed at Danny when you watch him on stage
doing that and I'm like well very easily everybody because you don't live with him do you and you
don't see it when he leaves his wet towel on the bed and his socks rolled up into a ball
and he doesn't manage to get that cup quite into the dishwasher.
Oh, the story you told me, which I would love to say on here.
Oh my God, I want to know what it is.
The shaving incident.
Oh, my...
I would hate it. No, we can't say it.
All I can say is I'd just clean the shower and then somebody decided to have a shave in the shower and
I was not best pleased.
Exactly. So she has these little images of Danny at home. He may be fantastic at singing.
He may be great singing under a mask.
He might be great singing as a fish, but you know, as a vicious fish.
At home, it's a different story.
It is.
But, so basically we both decided,
like it was something Cooper couldn't miss, you know,
cause it's once in a lifetime.
McFly are only gonna turn 21 once,
and it was the 02, a huge show.
Did Cooper laugh it?
Cooper fell asleep.
When I say fell asleep, start to finish both nights.
Fast asleep.
Well, actually not start to finish.
I managed to keep the first night,
I managed to keep him awake for a little bit of it.
And then he went, mommy, can I play on your phone?
I was like, absolutely not.
If your daddy walks past you and you're on mommy's phone, he just...
I would just love it a little bit,
because like you said in a few episodes before,
that you think that he's gonna look at Danny
and think he's the cool one.
I'm telling you, it is not going to be the case.
He couldn't give a shit if his dad is in a band or not,
because it's ultimately his dad.
How you feel about Danny like someone saying
true oh my god that's your husband blah blah blah blah yeah but he still leaves a mess
at home like yeah you don't see him like that you'll get an over overwhelming sensation
when he's on stage thinking oh I do really fancy you and I love you and I'm so happy
I married you but then you go back home you think yeah yeah who's gonna think the same
well true but like it's such a shame because like,
for Danny, I want Cooper to be up.
He'll see the videos when he gets older
and he'll know that he was there.
Yeah, I mean, all Cooper really care.
Like, I think Cooper would much prefer
like the sound check of Danny.
Cause then it's just him and he gets to do what he wants
and he gets to get on the stage with daddy and like,
oh, one of my friends today called Danny,
daddy by accident. What to him? Call me daddy. To me she's like she went oh
because I'll see daddy at the school games and she went I mean I mean Danny oh my god
I mean Danny and I messaged back I went is this something you're not telling me. She
texted it. She voice not. I was like how long I was like, how long can I keep,
how long can I wind you up about the fact
you just called my husband daddy?
Daddy!
Oh, it was so funny.
So normally, they're a fairly well-oiled machine.
You know, I've been with Danny, what, 17 years,
and I can't even imagine how many shows I've been to.
And it's always, you know, you basically get a set amount of tickets for your friends and
family and you just all get chunked together in a little block and you all stood together
having a great time and that's that.
This time, so I was there with like family members, some friends, like lots of people
from different kind of parts of my life.
So people, everyone knew each other,
but they were all ultimately there with me.
And some of them were there on their own,
two girls on their own, anyway.
And then it turned out when we got all our tickets
that none of us were sat together.
We were all like completely spread out
around the O2.
And I was just like, and I didn't know what to do
because the thing is, it's really embarrassing because.
It's embarrassing, cause I'm like this,
like if anyone should be like, you know,
organized with tickets, it really should be me,
you know, and Danny's family because we're Danny's family.
But, and it was embarrassing because that we got,
I managed to like sort out some tickets
that were like together,
but they were like right at the back of the O2.
And I thought if people are looking at me,
they're gonna think maybe me and Danny
have like split up or something.
And we've just been like, you know,
shafted to the back.
She can sit at the back now.
Yeah, and so I was quite, I was a bit embarrassed.
I was like, this is terrible.
But also it's embarrassing when you're inviting people.
Yeah.
And then you're not then sat with them.
Yeah, exactly.
And anyway, so the problem is though,
before a massive show like that,
the last thing I want to do is go back backstage
and stress out Danny by going, none of us sat together.
That's not his problem.
Okay, one sec Okay one sec one sec
though yeah if it was the other way around Danny would not give a crap Danny would not
have cared he would have gone backstage and been like George yeah what's happening no
I don't know no he might not have done but anyway he just called you in the middle of his podcast
very true because he did just call me in the middle of a podcast knowing full well I'm working
this morning and I said to him are your ears
burning yes they should be they should you should be worried Danny Jones no
Danny from McFly Danny from McFly so I went backstage and there was a new team like
tour manager team so I didn't really know anyone did you just go off Jojo did you go out?
I'm not happening! Well I kind of like tried to sort it out and then like everyone was so busy with everything else
There was nothing I could do and so I stood there and cried
Oh I knew you were gonna say that! I knew you were gonna say that you stood there and cried
That's frustrating frustration
I was frustrated and I was literally stood there like I don't know what to do in this situation
I think it's the first time I've ever not known what to do in this situation. I think it's the first time I've ever not known what to do.
And it's out of your control because you can't physically go,
right, sorry, O2, sort this out.
Yeah, excuse me.
And obviously everyone was already assigned.
Did they not put you in a box?
Well, there were boxes, but I had said,
I don't want to be in a box.
I want to be in the thick of it.
I like to be in the crowd and like, you know,
it all be, it's better in the crowd.
Yeah. It's better in the crowd.
So yeah.
It makes me thinking you'd be in a little box.
I know what you're like.
But it's so funny because-
Hi, I'm Georgia Jones.
I'm married to Danny from a fly.
How many times can I say Danny from a fly?
But what's difficult, what's hard as well
is the other girls' kids are really into music.
Like they all play instruments.
They're like super keen musicians, all of them, pretty much.
And for some reason, Cooper just isn't.
And it's really hard because you'll see like their highlights
that, you know, like G did a really nice reel
about the kids being at the show.
And I was like, my reel of Cooper being at the show
would be so different.
It would be him asleep with his little headphones on,
fast asleep on a chair in the middle of a crowd.
So I suppose like what you've got to say for me,
anyone listening is like,
it's not always like exactly what you think it's going to be.
I didn't have good seats.
I was shoved at the end of the O2.
She didn't get to sit with anyone she actually knew. And my child fell asleep. I did, do you know it's going to be. I didn't have good seats. I was shriveled at the end of the O2.
She didn't get to sit with anyone she actually knew.
And my child fell asleep.
I did, do you know what's funny?
That actually now you say that,
when I saw your, I think it was either a story
or a picture, I was thinking, why are you so far?
Well, if you'd seen your stories.
You were like at the side,
was you at the side of the stage?
I was everywhere.
Yeah.
So basically, I was running around.
Oh, you was running around.
I've never sweated.
If anyone saw me and thought
I had highlighter on, it wasn't, it was just pure sweat dripping down my face, my back.
No, no.
Yeah, no, don't sing that song. My neck.
I've never sweated so much in my life. And majority of it was spent carrying Cooper around
with me from pillar to post. I eventually put him with Danny's mom for a little bit
and then just spent the whole time.
Was she in a box?
No, she wasn't in a box.
She likes being thick of it as well, does Cathy Jones.
Yeah.
Spent the whole time just running backwards and forwards
to different people in different seats.
Making sure everyone's okay.
Making sure everyone's okay
and trying to spend a bit of time with my friends.
Cause like, you know, that's the fun of it.
Yeah, but you was there to support Danny. Well, yeah, but to watch it like, you know, that's the fun of it. But you was there to support Danny.
Well, yeah, but to watch it.
And you know, it's not the same watching a show
with a child fast asleep than watching it
with one of your friends that's singing alongside you,
is it?
Like it's a completely different experience.
So you've binned your kid off
and you went and stood with your friends.
So I've binned him off, no, only for a little bit,
but I did bin him off.
When you're in the crowd though,
do all the fans come up to you and have pictures and stuff?
Some do but it's not quite that I quite like it's quite nice I'm like yes of course you
can have a picture and sorry if anyone had a picture of me during that because I was
a very very stressed out human.
Oh I feel sad that you cried though.
Yeah well I was quite sad because it was the only show I went to I didn't go to the second
night because she was too busy with all her Marks and Spencer friends.
Too busy with my own career actually
You watched with Marks and Spencer weren't you?
Yeah I watched with Marks and Spencer yeah yeah
Can you get me freebies from Marks and Spencer?
I'll try
They're behind the scenes?
They're lady with the mic
Why did you just get so married sis? didn't know because you called me a lady.
Far from it darling.
Far from a lady.
So you, Mrs, were meant to be coming to the first night.
Well actually I'm sort of glad I didn't come now because I wouldn't have been sat with you.
So Jo actually invited me and then my new publicist said,
do you want tickets to McFly?
They're doing ITV covering it.
It's being filmed I think.
I was like, amazing, I'll go.
This is fantastic.
So I said yes, voice noted you.
It was like, oh my God, law of attraction, I'm coming.
Like we put this out to the universe,
I'm gonna be there, until I actually realized
that it was parents' evening.
And you've missed parents' evening before, haven't you?
I have missed parents' evening before.
This isn't a first, but I did go and it was fantastic,
but I had to miss out on the concert,
which I was so sad about.
I know.
And so I would have hated if you was crying
and being stressed. Yeah, I mean, you, about. I know. And also I would have hated if you was crying and been stressed.
Oh yeah, I mean you, you.
I would have gone and sold it out.
To be, yeah, to be honest,
you would have probably been quite a good person
to be there, because you've been there, done that.
Did you ever have any situations like that with Tom?
Oh, I feel like all the time.
It was like a bit, it's a bit of a battle.
And I feel like we've spoken about this before,
haven't we?
You're just like a bit of an extra.
Yeah.
If that makes sense.
Did I ever tell you the story?
I don't know, I've told this on the pod before.
This was when Danny had a different management
and they went through a stage of kind of like
banning family from being backstage,
like after a certain time, which I totally get it.
Like they need like that hour before the show
to like, you know, get in the zone, no problem.
So what I would do is, you know, at that hour,
just go say bye to Danny and then head off
and go have a drink in a bar or something.
And I went backstage to go and say bye to Danny
and the security Gavin, who I love to bits,
such a nice guy, he's like, George, you can't come in.
I was like, what do you mean?
He went, yeah, the manager said you're not allowed.
I was like, what? I was like, what, just me? Or he's like, no, no one's allowed in. I was like, I do you mean? He went, yeah, the manager said you're not allowed. I was like, what?
I was like, what, just me?
Or he's like, no, no one's allowed in.
I was like, I need to say bye and good luck to Danny.
He was like, I can't override the manager's decision.
I was like, banged on the door, Danny came out.
He's like, what's going on?
Danny went absolutely mental.
Because he would have gone on stage thinking
I hadn't gone and said goodbye to it.
Yeah, and it's just like.
Or break a leg or whatever.
They're not actually children.
I know, that's because I'm his bloody wife.
It is just a bit, I said, do you know what?
Again, it's what you're saying before.
People look at it and think, oh my God,
you must love it like your partner's on stage,
blah, blah, blah, but when you're actually there
and you live it, and you know,
Tom used to always want me to go on tour,
and I'd be like, I'm not sharing a single bunk with you.
I love you so much, but I'm just not doing it.
It's just not the one for me, it's not good for my soul,
and it's a no, but do you know what?
A lot of jobs Tom did, they would be like,
Kelsey never comes, and you'd be like, yeah.
Because at first, I did love it.
And I think the novelty wears off.
It does, especially when you have children as well.
Like that was it for me.
Like when I had Cooper, I was like, I can't go.
Cause I've got a baby, just bring him.
And I'm like, no, you've no idea.
Like as much as everybody thinks,
oh, it's easy just take him.
It's all on me.
And you know, I wasn't, I didn't have like,
you know, everything I needed, like the,
I don't know, all the things you have
when you've got a baby.
It's just a lot.
It's a lot, it's a lot.
And it's not easy to do and you,
and then every time you've got to get a babysitter as well.
Yeah, mine was more career.
Like I said to Tom, like,
I've got to be in it to win it myself.
You want to, yeah, you want your own.
If I'm just being your groupie and following you around on the road. Yes, it's absolutely fantastic
But I need to have my own thing
Yeah, I think that's what probably worked for me and Tom because we didn't live in each other's pockets
We had this undying love for each other, but we were very much independent
Independent did our own things he'd be buzzing when I would turn up and actually all the boys loved it
Then when I would come yeah, because all the boys loved it then when I would come.
Cause they knew that it would be a good night out.
There was gonna be, yeah.
There was gonna be fun and games.
You know, even we lived in a house together
for three months in LA, it was a lot.
Oh, did you?
Yeah.
All of you.
We filmed a TV show over there.
Oh my God, you did?
I forgot about that TV show.
Oh yeah, what was it called?
The Wanted Life.
But again, they tried to stir up there because the boys went to Vegas and they wanted the
girlfriends to be bothered.
One of the other girlfriends was bothered.
But I just wasn't...
Still a girlfriend or not?
Yeah, she's still a girlfriend.
But I just was never bothered.
No, that's what I'm always like, I'm like, yeah, you go off and do that.
But they wanted the drama and I was like, but I'm not going gonna give you the drama. And then did they try and stir something up?
I think they tried to stir something.
I was in the now shop and they were trying to insinuate
that Tom had done something and I was like, sorry.
But I know that he,
that is so bad.
Tom would have to ring me and go,
do you think it's a good idea to go and talk to this girl?
Is it all right if I text this girl?
Yeah, like just no way.
But you know, I used to try and say on the show,
I am a cool girlfriend,
but I'm just happy to do my own thing.
And I think in life, whoever you're with,
I think you have to have your own thing.
Oh, absolutely.
Like if like, I've always said that from being like,
when I first got into a relationship with Danny,
I loved that we would spend time apart
because I'd get to a point where I needed a bit of space.
I needed just a little bit of space.
And I still do it now,
take myself off to mom and dad's.
COVID was a bloody nightmare for me.
Cause I was like, well.
Well, I've got to live with him.
I've got to live with you for longer than a few weeks.
You're not going off on tour.
I can't go to my mom's.
What even is this life?
I was like, oh, this is what normal marriage is like, is it?
But no, I do think it just keeps everything just, you know,
fresh when you aren't in each other's pockets all the time.
And I think being with a pop star,
it's the ultimate Instagram versus reality.
Yeah.
What you guys see on stage, them coming out,
giving their best performance,
everyone living their best life, being backstage.
Being backstage is dark, lonely, miserable.
You don't really see sunlight.
Boring.
Boring, food's great.
Catering's always good.
But I used to just be bored.
I mean, oh, can we go and do something?
The boys can't do anything.
Because there's fans outside,
so they can't go out because they'll just get mobbed.
So then they all just stay backstage.
Yeah, it is quite boring.
I got to a point where I just didn't go,
I didn't go till loads later.
So rather than hanging out,
do you remember we used to hang out all day,
just like backstage at a...
I liked it when they would do,
so say like if McFly, The Wanted, JLS,
like at that time everyone was doing stuff like do you remember
T4? What on the beach? T4 on the beach, I used to love T4 on the beach and then there was like a Stars
one they used to do. Oh. And then like Jingle Bell Ball and the Summertime Ball. Yeah. Like when I
first met Tom he was doing the Summertime Ball I was like, as if you're going out, like literally they'd only had one song,
which is All Time Low, and they went and sung to 90,000.
90,000.
And they had one song out.
That is incredible, isn't it?
Incredible.
It's not the same nowadays.
I think they opened it.
I want to say they opened it.
It was like, so I just met him.
I was 19, met this guy.
He was like, I'm in a band, then you've got this song out,
he was like, oh yeah, we're just casually opening Wembley
with All Time Low, oh are you?
Did you go?
No, I don't think I went to that one, I met him after.
But I remember one year I went to the summertime ball
and I ended up getting so drunk and I came out,
we ended up going to a club, came out at three o'clock
in the morning, my dress was over my head,
I got packed, I had a thong on.
Literally you could always count on me to have a,
I think we went to like Katy Perry's after party or something,
it was just wild.
I was there for that really, the wild after party.
Not so much the concerts.
We used to be, we used to be the wild,
see we're so similar,
me and Danny used to be the wild couple.
Me and Tom were, you could always rely on us. Yeah, yeah, we're so similar. Me and Dani used to be the wild couple. Yeah, me and Tom were. You could always rely on us.
Yeah, yeah. We were like the ones that would sometimes take it too far.
But you know, listen.
So fun again.
We're just having fun.

So, what's it like? I know we touched, well, before on, you know, your new boyfriend. At
what point do we stop calling him your new boyfriend?
Boyfriend, yeah.
What's it like?
We've been together 10 years now.
10 years now. 10 years now.
What's it like going from having Tom,
who was obviously in the public eye,
to then being with somebody
who doesn't even have Instagram?
Does he?
He has nothing.
So is it nice?
Is it refreshing?
It's nice and refreshing,
but do you know what?
Even for this, it's made,
I think I always sit back and have a little think,
and it's like,
when I first met Tom, he was just a boy from Bolton
Yeah, so he didn't have all the fame and whatever and I guess it's sort of the same with Will. Yeah, I've met a guy
Who I've got a strong connection with yeah, but thankfully he has no social media
He doesn't he's not interested in it. I'd be like. Are you quite glad?
Are you quite glad he's gone?
He's not in like, like if you,
if you're thinking about it before you got with Will,
in your head did you have kind of what you wanted?
I did manifest and I do feel like I did manifest Will.
I didn't really know about the, like the social media thing.
It really shocked me when I was like,
what you've got nothing.
It's like, no.
But even, even he doesn't have an iPhone.
He doesn't have an iPhone?
He has a Samsung.
Oh wow.
He's like completely not a sheep.
He's just a.
Oh, I mean, good on him.
Well done, Will.
Well done, Will.
Yeah, he's just not interested.
And you know, even when the press went crazy
and was taking loads of pictures of us
and we're really, you know, we was in like every newspaper I'd send
him it and he's like yeah I'm not looking at it he doesn't care he doesn't
care he loves me for me yeah and not for the likes just not for the likes he
doesn't he has no clue what's going on he doesn't know what I'm posting each
day yeah he's yeah he hasn he just, he's refreshing.
Yeah, I think it's nice.
That he's not in this world.
Yeah.
And it's nice for me to then just go home
and switch off from this world.
Yeah, does he understand, you know,
cause obviously like with our jobs,
we are on our phones quite a lot.
Does he understand?
Yeah, he doesn't nag me about that.
Okay, that's good.
He doesn't nag me, he gets it, he knows that.
What's nice is I feel like we're building something.
Yeah, yeah.
I feel like I'm starting again.
Yeah, well you are though.
You know, like it's fresh, it's brand new, it's fresh.
Like you're building something new.
Like it's in the next stage of your life, isn't it?
And also it's how the roles have reversed a bit.
Yeah. I guess I'm sort of the Tom, aren't I?
And he's the Kelso.
If we do any shows or if we're doing anything,
I would never want Will to feel how me and you have felt.
Yeah, you'd always want him to feel like a big part of it
rather than that he's maybe just a little extra that's there.
It's so bad, so I don't want everyone to be like,
oh, they're them two, love and moan.
But people won't understand,
unless you've lived it, it's a lived experience.
You can't explain it.
I never want him to feel like that.
Because I just don't think there's any need.
No, of course not, of course not.
And like, the thing was,
like I don't think Tom or Danny want us to feel that way.
It's not the boys.
It's not the boys, it's just external factors, isn't it?
That can make you feel a little bit like you're just
the wife tagging along rather than there in your own, right?
Yeah.
As an actual person.
A human.
A human, a human.
We've got listener questions.
Ah, we love a listener question.
We love a listener question.
So, Bridget, is that how you say that?
Bridget, yeah.
Don't ask me.
What were the factors that helped you decide
you wanted to be a mom?
I always wanted to be a mom.
Same.
Always wanted to be a mom.
Like, I was so maternal.
And it's weird, because Aurelia's so maternal.
Is she?
She loves babies.
I actually have to leave the babies alone.
Put the babies down.
Like, baby Winnie, she's not really a baby anymore.
She's 15 months.
It's like, leave Winnie alone.
Is that Kelsey's little girl?
Yeah, she just wants to walk around and be left.
And she's at the stage where she wants to look at everything
where she's got her alias on her wanting to be her mom.
I do think you're kind of one way or the other.
You're born.
Yeah, yeah.
Because what's really weird is my sister
wasn't as maternal growing up,
but I feel like we've gone completely the opposite way.
So I've had a child and I don't think I am quite
as maternal anymore.
And then Lauren, Lauren wasn't and now she's got two boys
and she's a doctor in OBS and gyne.
She delivers babies for a living.
So she's like so maternal now.
Yeah. Yeah.
I just- Do you feel though,
cause I feel like we always touch on this,
I feel like with you, you had,
it was just such a shock when you had coats.
Yeah, well I just wasn't in a good place
and I had to move and I think it just put me off.
Put me off.
Going back to that.
Going back to that.
This trauma, we need to heal you from this trauma.
Oh my God, it's so weird guys.
I've just got really bad ringing in my ears
when I just said that to you.
When you said trauma? Yeah to you. Oh
Is that a sign? Yeah, you need to heal this trauma. Kels loves a sign don't you? I love a sign
No, but that was really weird. They say ringing in your ears. Someone's close to us
Yeah, someone's sending me a message. What are they sending me?
What has Kels have taken before this pod. I promise you nothing.
Nothing. She's just like this all the time. I looked through the camera there and I was like,
presenting mode. She's like this all the time, guys.
Sorry, I don't know if you know, but she's Mark's friend star.
Behind the scenes backstage presenter. She normally has a little mic. It's quite a big one for her.
It's alright. Shall I hold it?
That's a big one. You're only going to be able to write a big one for us. It's all right, shall I hold it? That's a big one.
You're only going to be able to write a little one.
I like a big cast.
Right, this is a question for you.
Why are you with Danny?
I'll ask you this one, because it's for you.
So this is from Izzy.
Kelsey, what is Aurelia and Bodhi's sibling rivalry like?
It seems recently I'm always splitting
my two up play fighting.
Mine don't really play fight.
Do they not?
No, mine are, my mom's just says, she goes,
I can't believe how well they get along.
And my auntie said it, they're so kind to each other,
they love each other.
Don't get me wrong, they argue like,
do you know when the arguments happen
when we're driving in the car,
but they're both in separate car chairs,
they can't actually hurt one another.
Yeah.
They'll just start showing each other.
Yeah.
And also what she tends to do is talk over Bodie and then he gets really upset because he probably feels like he's really quiet and unheard anyway.
Yeah.
So I'm like, Ray, let him talk and then they'll be like, Ray won't let me talk.
So, at the moment, they don't really fight.
But I guess, you know, I've got years to come, haven't I?
Yeah. I mean, I feel like siblings always fight.
Did you and your sister fight?
Yeah, do you know what we did?
What, like full on punch ups?
No, not horrendous.
There was a occasion where there might've been a nip or a bite.
There was a bit one time, I think I bit my sister.
Bit too hard.
But apart from that, we got on really well.
And like, even though we did bicker as kids,
and like there was maybe one point where
we probably both became hormonal teenagers,
where we bicker a bit more.
Yeah.
And clothes, did you two argue about clothes?
No, because me and my sister have always been
different sizes, so we never could borrow each other's clothes.
But now we're like best mates.
So I think that's what you've got to remember.
Kids grow up and...
And do you know what?
I'm at a stage with my brothers
that I actually hate them at the moment.
Oh, just because why?
Because they're just at that stage
where they don't want to talk to me.
Oh.
They're over me.
We went out for Johnny's birthday, my stepdad's birthday,
and they walked into the restaurant
and just didn't even say hello to me.
And I'm like, but you don't understand.
They loved me so much.
I feel like I'm their mom.
And I'm going through the stage where
they don't love me anymore.
Oh, Kels, I'm sure they do.
They're just teenagers.
They just hate me.
And then I went down, because they sat at the end,
and I went down and I hugged them. They're like, get off me, get off me. And then I went down, cause they sat at the end and I went down
and I hugged them and they're like,
get off me, get off me.
But I'm like, I love you so much.
You can't do this to me.
Because I'm actually not your mom, I'm your sister.
But even with them, I think they're always,
you always have that sibling rivalry.
And we've got a massive age gap.
But we'll all be like, I'm mom's favorite.
Mom loves me because of this.
Well, we always buy, whenever we buy birthday cards from mom and dad, one of them always says be like, I'm mom's favorite. Mom loves me because of this. Well, we always buy,
whenever we buy birthday cards from mom and dad,
one of them always says something like,
here's the card from your favorite child.
Like always.
No, we write it in the card as well.
Yeah, I think I do as well.
Like, you're number one child.
And I mean, like Kelsey, grow up.
You're like 34, grow up.
I don't think it'll ever stop.
Still arguing with your brothers.
I bet your brothers though,
when they get into like their twenties,
they'll come back around again.
I feel like- I really hope they do. They their twenties, they'll come back around again. I feel like they will.
They will like you again, I promise.
I'm not gonna buy them any Christmas presents this year.
I just don't feel like they deserve it from me.
Kelsey, you can't just not.
No, I just honestly don't think they deserve it, George.
Why don't you buy them both books
in how to love your siblings?
Yeah, they need something.
I mean, I'd get them the best presents as well.
I get them such good presents
And they can't even say hello to me. You're like you're gonna cause a whole family dispute if you don't buy them a Christmas present
No, they're not getting it. That's it. They're not getting it from me. I'm not having it. I'm not having it children. I'm not having it
You love me. Love me. Love me. I will buy you good presents. Yeah
you good presents? I love you. I'm like you don't even come around to see me anymore. Like you used to pop in. They used to have sleepovers with me. Oh no I don't it breaks
my heart a bit. It does break my heart. Well I really hope, which they definitely won't,
they listen to this episode. So Kelsey's brothers, sort yourselves out and show Kelsey some love
plates because they need music. So we sort of went off pieces didn't we. It was about
a reindeer and a bodean now I'm talking about my. It's all about you girls. It's all about me and my
love with my brothers or the love that's no longer there. Go on you ask the next question.
This is from Tiff. This is actually one for both of you. What's the weirdest thing your child has
asked you recently? As I feel like my little one Sophia
always catches me off guard with the strangest questions.
Oh God, that's a really, really good question.
Mine's not so much what he's asked me,
but he said something to Danny the other day.
What did he say?
Definitely caught Danny off guard.
He went, he went,
Daddy, can I tell you something and don't be upset
and don't want you to be angry at me?
And daddy was like, okay, go on.
He went, I do prefer it when it's just me and mommy
than just you and me because mommy's not as strict as you.
And what did he say to that?
I think he took it quite well.
I think if Goofrida said that to me, I'd have cried.
Yeah.
Not until you're crying.
Yeah, no, I'd have been like, no, you do love me more.
I am the best parent.
Well.
What about your kids?
Mine's like endless with the things that they say.
Oh yeah, it really is quite a gobby one, isn't it?
Yeah.
Have I said about the balls?
No, what?
Oh, I don't know.
Go on.
I don't know if I've said this on this podcast before.
Remind me.
So, she actually, obviously the Tom conversation comes up a lot.
So she was asking me about, oh no, mommy, did you want a little girl or a little boy?
I said, I was so happy.
I wouldn't, I had a little girl.
She went, well, where was Bodie?
And I went, oh, he wasn't here then.
Like he wasn't even a thought.
She went, oh no, he was a sperm in dad's balls, wasn't he?
I was like, yes, he was.
He was a sperm in dad's balls.
Oh, I love it.
She is just so funny.
Do you know, I just love it
when they come out with things like,
I mean, I'm the worst,
because if Cooper ever swears,
I can't help but laugh.
I just can't.
I mean, I tell him afterwards,
like, no, you mustn't,
but it's just funny.
It is funny out their little mouths,
but you just think, yeah.
They're just caught.
Can you just not do that at school?
And Aurelia did say, go into parents evening.
I was debating, I put this whole thing out on Instagram,
like should I wear a tracksuit?
Is a tracksuit acceptable to go to parents evening?
Everyone basically said yes, apart from my mom,
was like, you're not wearing a tracksuit
to parents evening, so I got changed.
But Aurelia said, mom, can you wear a dress?
And I was like, okay, and then she went,
and I was like, mom, will you just put some makeup on?
She's obsessed with me wearing makeup at the moment.
She's like, mom, why don't you pick me up from school?
Will you put some makeup on please?
That's so funny.
I'm like, as if you're even aware
if mommy's got makeup on or not.
I think little girls come out with things
worse than little boys.
Cooper did once tell me that someone else
was prettier than me.
Who was it? Me. That girl you do the podcast with is so much prettier
than you. Absolutely gorgeous, mummy. Be more Kelsey, please.
In a world full of Jolges, be more Kelsey. In a world full of Jolges, be more Kelsey.
God, I hope it's not a world full of Jolges. Everyone's doomed. Right.
Well, that's a wrap, Kelsey! Yeah, that's it! A wrap on another episode! We've spoken about Coop's falling asleep through Danny's McFly birthday shows at the
O2.
And why I didn't make it either.
And what it's like being married to somebody in the public eye.
