Hello and welcome back to another episode of Mums The Word, the parenting podcast.
I'm Georgia Jones.
And I'm Kelsey Parker and we're excited to be kicking off another episode of this brand
new season.
We've had a little break and we are now back better than ever.
I love the confidence in ourselves.
I know.
We're better than ever, guys.
We are better than ever.
We are so good.
What were we last season then?
Not very good.
Not quite as good.
Emotional wreck.
I can't promise I'm not going to bring that.
We've got so much to talk about today.
We're going to talk about the real truth of separation anxiety.
You know, even when we just went on holiday, he slept with me for three weeks in the bed
with me.
So then when we've got home from holiday, he then wants to be back in bed with me for three weeks in your bed with me. Yeah. So then when we've got home from holiday,
he then wants to be back in bed with me.
So I feel like I'm back to the newborn stage
because he must get up about three, four times in the night
and I walk him back to the bed.
How to deal with post holiday blues.
Guess how I'm getting over holiday blues.
How are you getting over holiday blues?
I've got another one.
I'm going to Ibiza with my 74 year old mother and my sister.
For how long?
Just a week.
Can I just come?
Yeah, do you want to?
I really just want to come to Ibiza again.
I think you're quite like Jeannie.
And get your best tips for travelling on holiday with your little ones.
So grab a cuppa.
Get comfy.
And stop nicking my lines, Jojo.
No, I was going to say get comfy.
I'm so sorry.
And let's jump into this brand new season of Mums the Word.
So Kels, talk to me a little bit about separation anxiety because you've touched on this.
Yeah, I've touched on it before.
It's my little Bodhi.
Aurelia doesn't really have the separation anxiety, but I think Bodhi had such a traumatic time within me, coming out of me, then into the world that he was
like, thrusted upon.
Also, I think reflecting, he was my comfort blanket.
So when I had him and Tom was ill, I probably didn't do him any favors because I kept him
with me all the time.
He didn't leave my side, he was with me 24 seven.
And that was also in the bedroom,
like he was my little friend at night,
they used to get me up and I'd be like, oh.
And then when Tom died, obviously I had space in my bed,
so I let him come into the bed with me.
And I feel like, you know,
a lot of people talk about the co-sleeping.
Yeah.
For me, I love it,
but I don't think it does him any favors
because then he's even more obsessed with me.
So then when it goes to taking him to school,
he's always been the tearful one that cries when I drop off.
And when he's had to do other activities like swimming
and anything that doesn't involve me
He said to me because he's they've started the new school
He said I do like the other school better
Mommy said because you used to walk me in and take me into the classroom
Where's this one I drop him at the gate and I'm like bye
do you feel like you treated him differently then because obviously it was when Tom was very
Polite and then obviously died didn't he and do you you feel like you clung onto Birdie a little bit?
He was my comfort blanket.
I guess I probably had the separation anxiety with him.
I didn't want to be separated from him.
And also I felt like I had a point to prove to be like,
I can cope with everything.
I'm really strong.
I can bring my child up
and I can go through everything else I'm going through.
But even when we just went on holiday,
he slept with me for three weeks in the bed with me.
So then when we've got home from holiday,
he then wants to be back in bed with me.
So I feel like I'm back to the newborn stage
because he must get up about three, four times in the night
and I walk him back to the bed.
So this week I've introduced a star chart.
So if he can do seven nights in his own bed,
there will be a reward at the end of it.
I think I've spoken about this before.
Those that are new to the pod,
they wouldn't have heard me talking about this
because this is an ongoing thing.
We go through stages.
So we do really well, then he's back in my bed.
We do really well, he's back into my bed.
Do you feel like you do really well
and then if something changes, he comes back to your bed?
Like if there's a little bit of like unsettled.
Yeah, and just that of having me on holiday.
He had me all to himself.
Aurelia was in a bed far away, so he felt like,
and I just think boys are so different to girls.
Oh, they love a snuggle with their mommies, don't they?
They are, right, he's such a mommy lover.
So he felt like he had me, and now we've home and he's like, what, what is this?
It's hard, isn't it?
Because like you want those moments, like, and then you make a rod for your own back.
Cause I was similar.
So when me and Cooper went on that little trip to Cornwall, like me and Cooper have
never co-slept, neither of us like it.
Like we both like our own space.
Totally cool with that.
Like, and I'm, I've just never been one for co-sleeping
Pat obviously Danny she has better me
World exclusive George and Danny have said
No, but when we're in calm all I was like
Do you want to snuggle in bed with mommy for a little bit and he was so excited by it and he loved it
and then we went oh then we went
camping and um he shared a bed with me then and he thought the novelty of it for him he was like
thought it was brilliant since holidays and camping he now wants me to get into bed with him all the
time yeah i'm like oh no but at the same time, I do quite like it.
I like having that moment.
And I've become really emotional recently with Cooper.
I think, cause I can really see him growing up.
I've seen his little face change.
He's got tall.
They start like filling out and growing into their like.
It's like they stretch and then like broaden.
Like I'm like, what are those shoulders about?
He's got little hairy legs.
Oh stop.
And I'm like, oh my God, you like, not yet, slow down.
And it's so funny because when people say to you,
oh, you've got to appreciate those moments
because it all goes so fast.
When you're in those moments, you're like,
oh, like go away.
Then it's not going fast. Like I're in those moments you're like oh like go away then it's not going fast like
it like I am appreciating the moments and now like I've really since him going into school
like you know a few weeks ago I have seen such a difference and you know I think I did a post
about it ages ago and it was like you never know when the last time you pick them up is going to be
I'm starting to feel like it's going to was like, you never know when the last time you pick them up is going to be.
I'm starting to feel like it's gonna be,
we're getting close,
because he's too heavy.
I can't.
Oh, actually like, oh.
Actually too heavy.
There is gonna come a point soon
where my back is not gonna survive picking him up.
I feel like I'm not gonna have that with Bodie.
He'll probably be like 15 and I'm still picking him up
because he is just so tiny.
Oh, is he?
I mean, I'm gonna try for as long as I can, but like, I'm still picking him up because he is just so tiny. Oh is he? I mean I'm gonna try
for as long as I can but like I'm starting to notice these moments. Well even when I saw you at the
Kidz Bop concert he's got so grown up and he was big and you was like cuddling him and whatever and
I thought oh yeah she's not got long left really. No and they but they start doing things like
he started rolling his eyes at me I'm'm like, I'm sorry, teenager.
And like, there has been times where I've said something
or done something and I'm fully aware that I'm not cool
or that he doesn't think I'm cool.
I'm like, oh my God, you don't think I'm cool anymore?
Yeah, you've got more of that to come, Josh.
Oh, it's breaking my heart, though.
Because when they're little babies,
they literally think you're the best thing.
Yeah, and it's just changing six and a half is just start
I know who I don't think is gonna be able to cope Danny. Hmm. Yeah, but I think Danny's always gonna be cool
He's a rock star like he's gonna I'm not he's gonna still hate him at some point
And I don't think Danny would be able to cope. I think Danny's gonna have the coolness for a bit longer
Maybe a little bit longer. Yeah
Why why don't following the mom?
It does.
It all follows the mom, I know.
We grow them and birth them,
and then we're the ones that aren't as fun or cool.
So, like, stop it, children.
Don't like it.
Do you know what's so funny though,
is because I've been feeling really emotional
about how big Cooper's getting.
I've been like looking at quotes on Instagram of like,
I don't know, like about, you know, your kids growing up.
So my feed is now just full of like positive
or emotional quotes every morning.
I wake up, I'm like, oh, for God's sake.
Do I post it? Do I not?
Live every day in the moment.
I'm like, yeah.
I'm like, oh my God, have I got to become one
of those accounts that just
post quotes?
What, like me?
Do you?
I love a quote and I love a poem.
See, I love a quote and a poem. Okay, right, I'll own it then, Kelsey.
Be a little bit more like me.
I will, be more Kelsey.
Be a bit more being Kelsey.
Do you remember when we first started this podcast and I used to call you Chelsea?
Do you actually remember my name?
Even though I knew- We're season, what season are we on? Season three. first started this podcast and I used to call you Chelsea. Have you actually remembered my name?
Even though I knew.
We're season, what season are we on?
Oh, season three.
Season three hopefully.
For two dogs waggling his little fingers at us.
Hopefully you know my name now.
I knew your name before for some reason,
I don't know why it just kept coming out of my mouth.
No, don't you think it's one of them things
that when you get someone's name wrong,
like you can never get it right?
Yeah, it's because I knew it.
I think it's because I knew it Chelsea.
So when I went to say Kelsey, I would say Chelsea,
anyway, sorry I'm boring.
Boring story.
Boring.
Boring.
Boring.
What's that for, it's Nigel Farage.
So how has it all been for you then,
returning to work and you know, they come down from holidays
Did you enjoy school holidays? Did you are you happy the kids are back? I love them being off
I do actually enjoy my kids company and I do love them
Thankfully as a parent, I do love them, but we went we went camping like 10 days. They absolutely loved camping
I saw you'd been camping. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, there was loads of us
There's about 20 of us. I'm in camping together. I love that Aralia's new name is feral barrel
She literally fitted in at the campsite because she is actually feral
Into like brownie. Yeah, she's not got enough time. That girl was so busy with activities
So busy so busy with activities. She's got a busy diary. So busy, so busy George
it's ridiculous. So we did that then came home and then we went to Greece for three
weeks. I loved Greece and was happy to be back to normality because I think you just
get into that vibe of like drinking every day and eating. Oh my god, yeah. I was quite
happy to get some routine back and put Cooper to bed at a decent time and have a bit of an evening
It's the bedtime you forget because when in the summer you you do just let them stay up on holiday
Yeah, I'm staying up to whatever time I want. Oh, yeah
I mean Cooper was staying up for somebody that likes routine and feels a bit funny when I don't have routine
I fully let myself go this holiday. I was just like, you know what?
Like it doesn't matter. Does it matter if you go to bed at 10 o'clock. It's fine
They can lay into it and I mean the problem is they don't do they but no and then you've got an aggie kid
But and Cooper will not nap on holiday
I got a little nap in there in the shade
Cooper just he's like no I will fight this I will fight this sleep
Do you not remember being like that as a kid?
No, I used to have like a little daytime nap in the shed. My mum used to make me and I used to get so annoyed
So I'd get it from the kids perspective. So I was like I just want to have fun mine was
So at the beginning of the holiday, they were friends with like actual children their own age
Yeah, like three two-year-olds
But then they made these group of friends that were like 10 and 15 there was like 10 kids all hanging
about together my kids included so they really had to go up like a notch with
like their capacity of talking can I ask a question I find that's quite weird
that 15 year old what would want to hang out with kids. You're right. Have you met my daughter? Oh, she's about 15. She is about 15
She's actually she can verbally keep up with them, but when they started hanging about with them
I had to nap them because oh it was a lot for them even like the speech
Yeah, like they're actually conversing with that age group. So that's when we started doing doing the day naps
Yeah, again, they won't sleep for me
They'll do that for my mom if that I said to mom you're gonna have to get the buggies and walk them around because they will
Not sleep. Oh, they don't do it for us though do they and then with nanny then?
Yeah, Cooper actually went off to my mom and dad's for a week because I had I had like a wedding and then
Something else and so our festival so oh yeah, that festival. Yeah, Oh yeah, I saw you at that festival, was that fun?
Yeah, oh it was great.
Absolutely.
The big festival, shout out,
because it's the fourth year I've been,
and every year it's good.
And you go with your friends?
I go with my friends.
It's like a little girls weekend.
We become like teenagers again.
And we like, we just do the full festival experience
campaign put glitter on our faces. Do they have performers there? Yeah really good acts
really good I'm not gonna tell you any of them right? No sorry I was just trying to think of who
We watched Natasha Beddingfield underrated I mean she is a really good singer
She's amazing. I didn't realise. I feel like it was always Daniel took the limelight
Well, yeah, you know you I gotta do this
Her songs are way more they were brilliant. Did you switch the hills? Yeah, I didn't know the link
I didn't know that one of her songs was like the song the song on the house
Guess I'm getting over holiday blues. How are you getting over holiday?
I'm going to Ibiza with my 74 year old mother and my sister for how long just a week. Can I just come?
Yeah, I really just want to come go to Ibiza. You're quite light Jeannie. You'd get on well with my mom really
Yeah, but you where are you saying you going?
Will you and your sister go off and party?
Well, you know what I was just like I can't wait to go because I don't think it's the party season anymore
No, you're going the best time. It's closing parties. No, haven't they already been? No, it's not
No, it's closing parties. Are you joking? Oh no
What about my sister?
Oh no, I know
I was just wanting a nice relax and to read a book to be honest with you without being interrupted by
someone shouting mummy every five seconds.
And just some sleep would be just marvelous
and zero responsibility.
But my sister.
So who's having Cuba?
Well, dad.
The dad?
Is the dad?
Believe it or not.
Danny is actually back.
No, he is back in that time. We've had to do so it get his mum to come because he is away
He's currently on a golfing holiday
Yeah
so how long is he golfing for? A week. And that's why you can't really have that argument because
You've been away for a week and I bet you
Danny I do love you and I really wanted to get you in this pod
But I bet you he's not had to put any plans into place
No for the week that he's gone golfing
No, but yeah
You're gonna go away to Ibiza for a week and have to make all the plans make sure everything's washed ready the coopers all
Yes, I'm going and I'm gonna have a nice time.
So it's my sister's birthday while we're away.
And she said to me yesterday actually,
oh, maybe we could go like clubbing one night.
And it really, really broke my heart
because I don't want to.
I want to be really boring.
And it's-
No, George, you've got to have, listen,
every holiday you go on, you have to have one night.
Okay. There's gotta be the one night holiday you go on you have to have one night okay it's gotta be the one
night that you go out and it's just mental crazy stuff happens and then you're really
hungover the next day but you've got that one story on holidays yeah me and Tom used
to all the time maybe go on a chilled couple's holiday but there would be the one night yeah
yeah and I do agree but I think I'm just not very good with hangovers if we were gone for two weeks then fine
Slightly concerned and paint myself in a terrible light
Two weeks and it'd be okay
Take you four days to go over hangover. Yeah Yes, Kelsey cuz I'm old now and it takes me that long to get over hangovers something like you drink way more than me
On a weekly basis. I'm a bit of a boozer. Yeah. Yeah, so why are you making out that you wouldn't know?
It's when you go to the extreme of drinking
And to be honest my sister can't drink either there's something in the horse league
Oh, that's the maiden name something in the horse the girls jeans that doesn't do well with excessive amounts of alcohol
No, I don't I throw up all the time. Yeah. Yeah, I'm like a sicker
I will be sick from like oh, yeah nine or whatever time I wake up until probably six o'clock the next night
But it's all fun and games and I will put myself through that for the stories. Well I do yeah yeah that's exactly well
I do that okay right well I'll take it all back and I'll I will write guys everyone go follow
Georgia on Instagram we will see them one night. Oh my god imagine imagine if you see it I've got
absolutely wild Georgia Georgia went missing in Ibiza town.
Never.
This is from Mums the Word and Kelsey Parker.
Never to be seen.
And how did Georgia die?
Well, Kelsey Parker told her to go wild in Ibiza
and she took it too far.
She was last seen floating on a dinghy
out in the middle of the, what sea is it?
Mediterranean Sea. Oh yeah, in the middle of the uh what sea is it mediterranean sea oh yeah in the
mediterranean sea what are you doing now wow she's really trying to make herself look
really wild now yeah no it's rangavines isn't it yeah i know we're going to a pizza yeah
yeah yeah a pizza i was trying to work out what a sea it was but it tells you in the
mediterranean sea anyway it went on a tangent. Yeah we really did.

Holidays. Holidays with kids. Best tips. That's where we're going.
Can I tell you my best tip before we...
Don't go!
Don't do it! Whatever you do!
Don't take your kids to a b- Ibiza with your mum and your sister!
And I've posted about this on Instagram
because it is the best hack ever.
You know those shoe hangers that you hang on the wall?
They're fabric soft and you can put your shoes in the little pockets.
Yeah, you put the outfits in.
I saw it! I liked it!
I thought, well done, Georgia, that's fantastic.
And then what?
Cooper will clearly wear them clothes that you get out each day. Yeah, so Monday he's gonna wear them clothes
Yeah, no, no, no my children are so fussy
Don't give him a choice
No, but you don't understand what they're like Georgia
I am a really strict parent, but they like Bodhi Lucy
He he knows what he wants to wear. Did you ever give him the choice? No
Oh, I feel like when you give him the choice, then that's it
They're gonna choose it obviously Cooper's well laid back like you and zip he's like, yep. I'll wear that
No, like a radio wants to wear a pretty dress every single night. I'm like, yeah, but I bought you some like little short sets
You look really cute. I'm like, yeah, but I bought you some like little short sets. You look really cute I'm not wearing
To wear a dress. The only thing Cooper's funny about is something that's oversized. He doesn't like baggy
I'm like, oh, but it looks cute. It does and I love like baggy with like the little train
Oh me too. No mine's like a bribe to get them dressed in the evening
Okay, so when they made their friends it would be like
Right. Do you want to go and play with your friends? Because you won't be. You'll be sat with me.
Not me, if you do not put us to to.
But I thought when you got that out, I thought what a fantastic idea.
But not for those parents.
Okay, so if you kids are rebels like Kelsey,
Yeah, then not for you. For me, with a chilled only child,
But it is also the only child thing because he's not looking at anyone else to moan.
Yeah.
Like when one kicks off,
the other's going, I'm not wearing that.
Yeah.
Or the other one wants to be like, hello child,
and be like, I'm being really good
and putting on what mom says,
and then the other one's like,
throwing themselves on the floor, so.
Do you know what it was helpful for as well though?
Oh, organization.
Well that, but Danny. Well you've done it for Danny for as well though? Oh organization well that but Danny what you done it for Danny to
Danny would have been going where's Cooper swimming shorts? Where's Cooper's pants? Where's Cooper socks?
Did you do like a swimming costume a day as well?
Well, I just did pouches that add his swimming shorts in swimming costumes. Yeah put Cooper in a little fully swimming costume
Swimming shorts in, swimming costumes, yeah, put Cooper in a little fully swimming costume.
No, I did a pouch that had socks in,
a pouch that had boxes, like little pants in,
and then outfits.
So, and then like pouches with pajamas in.
Yeah.
So Danny could go over to that hanging,
wall hanging and go-
Paint by numbers.
Yeah, literally spelling it out.
Yeah.
So I didn't have that.
Him asking me constantly where I put this stuff. If if you're in the shower getting ready doing your makeup
And also where'd you put all the kids clothes like there's often not enough like hanging I did a pair
Packing squares and I took all my own hangers out there with me
I took your hangers I took hangers with me cuz they only ever give you like four hangers
Oh, it drives me mad. I was there for three weeks. Yeah, why do they do that?
I don't know they clearly know that you're going for like even if you're going seven days
Set at least have at least and there's two of you. Yeah, it's gotta be 14 hangers at least but they never do
So I packed that I felt like I really over packed too. Oh, see I don't I'm planning outfit for each day and commit
Yeah, but then I was gonna have to rewear stuff, but I still felt like even with that
I had you have packed over packed but packing squares were great for me to get everything in the case.
A packing cube.
And also, if you think you've packed enough snacks for your children, pack more.
Do you pack snacks?
Oh, I...
George, me and you are like, I just love this because we are like two extremes.
I'm like, I didn't pack any snacks.
It's so funny because it's so sweet.
What snacks do you pack?
You can buy them there.
Yeah, but it's a faff, isn't it?
Chris is a better out in.
Oh yeah, but don't forget,
Koopa's the fussiest issue you've ever met
in your entire life.
So what does he like?
What do you pack?
Tell me.
You know like little flapjack,
like the fruity flapjack things,
or like the organic stuff, yo-yos, mini shedders, pack all that.
You're really good now.
A few of the animals, you know those animals that are like, skip.
Mine are lucky if Davey gets shampoo and conditioner packed for him.
Just buy it out there.
I'm like that person, I don't really mind, just buy it all when you're there.
Well yeah you are because you're very laid back and chilled.
Whereas I'm slightly highly strong so.
You have it all organised.
That's why we work so well, Kelsey.
We do.
I did like toys and that but you know like you see these moms on Instagram like you are that mom that they get on the plane and they've got all the little pots
And whatever else now we just we just wing it. I'm winging it. Yeah
No, see the thing is I know I knew if we'd got on the airplane and I didn't have a bag full of snacks
He wouldn't it had been bloody starving that kid
He wouldn't have eaten anything on the menu of on on the, you know, on the airline menu.
And it would have been a nightmare.
So I had to, but, hey ho, you know.
My only other hack would be the bottles
that I took the Stanleys.
Yeah.
The kids had water bottles.
And also where we go in Greece,
they can go up to the fridges
and get their own drinks out if they wanted to.
But I said, we're not doing that this year. We're not drinking loads of the cartons of drinks, you've got
water in your bottles and that's what you're having. And they did accept that.
It's so sustainable. And you get the bottles that are insulated so the water stays cold.
Oh yeah, it was that all freezing cold. So it was so much better because it was all,
that it's so hot in Greece.
Oh, the water goes warmly in a second doesn't it.
It's like pointless, just, just wasting them euros.
We said, give us some advice.
What are your best holiday tips?
I love that one.
Yeah, best holiday tips, don't take them.
And Claire says, enjoy it.
It can be daunting for some,
but remember that in time they'll be all grown up.
Oh don't, because I'll get emotional again,
because it's so true.
And they'll stop, do you know what's so funny?
They won't want to go. So a lot of us actually went on holiday together, Oh don't so I get emotional again because it's so true and they'll stop like, do you know what's so funny?
So my so we a lot of us actually went on holiday together. So including my brothers
So they're 17 and 19 now, we know I talk about them all the time on this
But they might as well have not been on holiday with us this year
Like they're at the stage where they don't even really want to talk to you
So they'd come down a block., hi brothers, love you, how
are you, what are you doing today? Like nothing that you don't get like any response. They
literally did the same thing every day. They'd go down to St. Paul's Bay beach, which is
that really cool. And everyone's like looking great there, have their food, come back up,
have a nap, go out for their own dinner because they couldn't eat at the restaurant, at the
hotel and then go out and enjoy the nightlife.
No. And would they get up really late as well like would they yeah
and then not get up till yeah they're not that bad yeah they didn't like lay in
too late but they um yeah they they just didn't they didn't want to spend time
with us so it's so funny because they went home after 10 days and Johnny my
stepdad went were you not staying in this hotel? Why are you getting picked up from here?
Because surely you weren't staying here,
we never saw you.
Never saw you, yeah, oh my God, yeah,
because that's gonna happen.
And that's 17, so that's.
It's not that far away, is it?
It's not that far.
Oh no, don't say that.
Someone, I needed this bit of advice, don't overpack.
Don't overpack, yeah.
I think it's so hard and I'm always so deluded
that I'm gonna like blow dry my hair
and do that when it's 40 degree heat.
Why did I take a hairdryer with me?
See, I've stopped taking heels now.
Yeah, I didn't pack heels.
Yeah, I don't take heels anymore
and I don't take anything to style my hair with.
Because it's pointless.
It's pointless and it takes up time
and I'm like, you know, if ever I've done it and curled my hair while I've been away
I've been a bit like I could be sat at the pool bar having a drink or I could be you know on the balcony
See I told you guys this one loves a drink. She just tries to make out that she doesn't
Definitely didn't say to Kelsey shall we get wine? Yes. What time?
Yeah
Shall we get a wine in our break?
Snack boxes download shows on the tablet. Yeah. Oh, no of the clock. Should we get a wine now, break? Should we get a wine? Snack boxes, download shows on the tablet.
Yeah. Oh, no, no, no.
What? So I downloaded some shows
and then the kids kept streaming off my phone, you know,
like the, what do you share?
You know, hotspot. Hotspot, yeah.
I actually then had to spend like 90 pounds on more data.
I ran out of data.
Oh. And I was like, right. What an error. I think this was like halfway through of data. And I was like, right!
What an error.
I think this was like halfway through the whole day.
I was like, no one is streaming
or hotspotting from my phone now.
You have to just go on your downloads.
Yeah, yeah.
Definitely, but download as much as you possibly can.
Like, ugh, because.
Just being that organized person.
Yeah.
Which I'm not.
Danny, to be fair, Danny actually did all the downloading did it probably cuz I don't really know you do it
But yeah, Danny did it
Edie travel at night early morning
So the children sleep. Mmm. I don't agree depends how old they are
I think there's no cuz Cooper Cooper just I did when we went to Dubai
I did the night flight over there and actually my best friend Holly is going on
I did the night flight over there and actually my best friend Holly is going on, she went yesterday for her honeymoon but she's taking the kids with her because they've got two
kids now.
One idiot.
One idiot.
But she did that night flight and she said it was absolutely horrendous and I was like
I thought it was horrendous.
I would do the daytime flight out there.
Everything feels worse at night as well so if you've not got a sleeping kid on that flight
and it's night time it just feels a million times worse.
I really thought she was having a
party she's like getting all the films up, only did go to sleep. But the problem
is as well if your kid isn't asleep on a night flight people are gonna get pissed
off at you. Yeah. I mean they shouldn't but like they do because they all do want
to sleep because they're adults that have. Yeah I think daytime all the way so I'm sorry
it's gonna have to be a disagreement on that one. Sorry. Last one, Jennifer.
Start young. Our two little ones are just happy to jump on anything no matter the distance.
Yeah, I agree with that, don't you?
I think just take them out in the world as much as you possibly can.
Get them on trains, get them in cars, get them doing things.
So then it's nothing, it's a big task. You're gonna go on an aeroplane, you're going here.
It's like so big task. You're gonna go on an airplane. You're going here. It's like.
So true.
It's like, for instance,
ever since Cooper's been a little baby,
we've traveled north.
And it's a five hour journey.
So he's used to doing that.
He's used to doing it.
As much as we've struggled with travel sickness,
he just sits there for five hours.
He'll have a little nap.
And.
So he doesn't have his iPad or anything like that?
He can't.
He can't. So he's literally sat there iPad or it can't know you can't so he's actually
Looking out the window
You know what driving is the only time that I say do the early morning or the night
Yeah, so when I go to Bolton see Tom's parents
I will drive I'll leave at like five or six in the morning
Drive up there in the morning, and then I come back through the night drive through the night
So then I know that they're gonna sleep. Yeah. Yeah, I don't like driving at night, but I would do an early morning. Mm-hmm
Yeah, but guys who have enjoyed this one a bit shorter than normal
We do vary though don't we between 13 and 14. I feel like the one we
The first episode back was probably about two hours.
We've had a meeting now.
Get me out of here and get me some wine!
Yeah, we've talked about wine so we're just ready to go.
So that's another episode of Mum's The Word.
We have had such a laugh catching up about being a parent.
Speaking the very truthfully, haven't we today?
Yep.
As always, when do we not?
I feel like I just have no filter.
I try, I try to filter a little bit.
My favorite podcasts are no filter podcasts.
So, I've long made it continue.
So we should be people's favorites
because there is no filter.

We keep saying but it's safe to say this season is going to be bigger and better and a whole lot of fun
Oh, yeah, it is. I just realized I was hanging off my chair nowhere near the mic front then
See if I sounded a little bit distant a minute ago. That's why. She's just left me and ran out of this. I'm gonna go near the microphone then. See if I sounded a little bit distant a minute ago, that's why.
It's because she just left me and ran out of this.
I'm just so relaxed. I'm just so relaxed in this podcast.
We've got so many exciting guests coming up, haven't we, Kels?
There's some really good ones lined up.
I'm actually buzzing about our guests.
Yeah, me too. We've got...
I felt like you were gonna say something then.
We've got...
Obviously, it's very much real talk when we have our guests in. They don't tend to hold back, do they?
No. But I feel like that's us because I want to know the ins and outs.
I'm getting that gossip for you all.
We are getting that gossip.
And actually, that's what we want to do moving forward.
When we have our guests on, we will be doing little posts on Instagram
asking for the juiciest questions for our guests.
So we'll tell you who it is that's coming on and then you guys can send in any questions.
There's no holding back here.
Juicier the better.
