Someone has got some very
exclusive news they're about to reveal. I've got a question I might have seen a few things
in the news about somebody potentially having a new boyfriend. I have a boyfriend. She's
got a boyfriend. I've got a boyfriend. And as ever we're going to jump into your listener
questions. We are just givers, That's what we are givers.
That sounds wrong.
Ha ha ha ha!
We are givers.
Kelsey's more of a taker.
So go grab a cuppa.
Get comfy.
And let's jump into this brand new episode of Mums the Word.
So before we start today's episode properly, something very, very sad woke us both up this
morning, didn't it? And Kels, this is actually a very sad day for you, wasn't it? We've had
a little cry. Well, you've had a little cry, haven't you?
I've had a cry. I've got it all out. Those that know me know that I hate crying so much.
I made a cry. I forced it on her. I gave her a cuddle and she just couldn't resist
a little sobbing to my shoulders.
But we woke up to the sad news that Liam Payne's died.
And you knew him, didn't you, Carol?
She was friends and he was with you.
Well, he, I mean, he was good friends with Tom.
He was at Tom's funeral, was he?
Yeah.
Well, I think there was this whole thing of like,
one day and the wanted, and they did have beef back in the day.
They did have beef back in the day.
Oh my gosh.
I mean, The Wanted, I thought they just went out and started on everyone.
And to be fair, Tom was like one of the main culprits.
I'd be like, why have you just got to put things out on Twitter? Just zip it.
If you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.
I literally used to be mortified.
But do you know what? I think when Tom got sick,
it really resonated with Liam.
And he obviously reached out.
He was really there for Tom.
And we did this whole massive gig for Stand Up To Cancer,
which we raised like over a million pounds.
And Liam actually came and performed at that.
Oh, did he?
Then when Tom passed, Liam came to Tom's funeral.
And do you know what I mean?
Do you know when you think to someone, you're a good soul.
Like he did not, he didn't need to come to Tom's funeral.
He felt that he needed to be there.
He was so supportive.
And then he always used to reach out to me.
He'd be like, Kel, so I can see that you're doing so well.
He always checked in.
Yeah, we were just saying as well before, weren't we?
It's so sad, because you've seen that side of him,
which is a lovely, caring human, right?
Going through grief, how I have, you know, Liam's 31.
We lost Tom at 33, it's no age for either of them.
It's no age, is it?
He was still a young lad.
Like that, it's just so sad.
And you posted something today, didn't you?
And it was like, and actually when I read it,
I was like, oh God, I'm glad you posted that.
Cause it was about grieving,
even if you didn't really know the person.
Cause when I woke up this morning, I felt really sad.
And yeah, like obviously we went around Australia
with the 1D boys,
because it was when McBusted were doing their thing
and they were on tour with 1D.
Oh really?
Yeah, yeah.
So we did the whole, a whole month in Australia with 1D.
And he came to our house before when they recorded
a song for their album with the McFly boys.
But I didn't know him well,
but still this morning I was like,
oh God, that's awful.
Like it's just horrible, isn't it?
When someone-
It's horrible.
And for me this morning has really resonated
because I'm, you know,
when I had to put the news out about Tom, you know,
it was just such a surreal experience for me
because I had to actually come up with like basically
a press release of what I was gonna say
and what I was gonna do.
And we were counting down like the hours
when this was gonna go out.
And it was just so, I was so numb to the world.
And obviously I didn't really wanna face it.
But I remember, like even now people come up to me and go,
oh, Tom's death really affected me, it really affected me.
But I feel really affected by this
because I feel like I'm on the outside.
Yeah, you can see it from a different angle.
About how everyone felt towards Tom.
Yeah, but at the time when everyone was like,
you know, doing posts and things going,
oh, like, you know, we're so sad Tom's died
that didn't really know him.
Did you, how did you feel towards those people at that time?
Do you know what?
I think in this world,
I think love can conquer anything.
And I think it was that love.
I felt so much love and I felt like,
oh my God, everyone loved Tom as much as I did.
Yeah, yeah. So it was was quite a comforting thing for you.
And I think for Liam's family, it will be that.
It's so tragic.
And how do you get over it?
You don't.
No.
That is it.
I'm living with grief.
I am literally, you know, two and a,
well, almost three years next year.
Yeah.
And I'm still here and I'm still living
and dealing with grief.
Do you think you'll ever stop grieving?
Do you think you're gonna be grieving forever?
I think, yeah, ultimately I think I'll grieve forever
because also it's, you're grieving the life
that you once had.
Yeah, of course.
And those memories don't go.
Even for Liam's girlfriend, for Liam's mom,
Liam's dad.
Son.
His son, like your grief is what would life had been
if they stayed.
And I think that's for me,
it's my life was going in such a direction
where, like I always say, it was like the perfect family,
2.4 family, like mom, dad, little girl, little boy,
so perfect, married, met Tom at a young age,
like it couldn't have been any better for me.
Yeah, boom.
Yeah, your world falls apart.
And you know, even for Liam's family,
it's so different for us because for me, obviously, now,
I hated when people used to say this to me,
like, oh, well, you grieved Tom when he got diagnosed.
No, I didn't grieve Tom then.
I got a different Tom when he was diagnosed
and I lost the Tom.
So I guess I did have time.
And it's, but when things happen so suddenly.
And obviously he's left behind,
I think his little boy bears seven.
And that got to me this morning.
I was thinking, oh my God, I can't imagine
telling Cooper at this age, your dad's dead.
Your dad's died.
Because obviously, Bodie and Aurelia were a lot younger
and didn't necessarily understand at that time
what that really, really meant.
No, we're living it in a different way now.
Even last night she was asking me like,
did dad want a girl or a boy when I was born?
Like she asked me stuff all the time.
We're just, we grieve, like that's,
we're grieving Tom every day
and they will grieve Liam every day.
Yeah, yeah.
But I imagine there's gonna be so many more questions.
Cause I imagine for earlier,
cause obviously Birdie was baby, wasn't he?
So he, I imagine he's not gonna have really any memory
of Tom being alive.
Does that make you sad?
Yeah, cause he was only 18 months.
Yeah.
And then I just think like Bodie's gonna be four.
Child, four years of my life.
Yeah.
Like four years, like that is such a long time,
but such a short time when there are only four.
You're like my life for the past four years
has changed so drastically.
I mean massively so Cal's like in every sense of the word.
Every sense, every aspect like it's just, it is crazy.
But bringing it back to bear,
I mean, he's seven, it's how like Cheryl's gonna deal
with it, how you deal with grief.
And you know, I've had to learn really on the job.
I am dreading the day when a grandparent dies
because I have no idea.
Like that's brand new.
That's something that you don't,
you aside, don't often navigate in life
in the parenting, on the parenting side of things
until it eventually happens.
But you have no idea how to deal with that.
And also I think it is all age dependent too,
which I know it shouldn't be,
but when my grandma died, she was in her 90s.
So I was like, she had a fantastic life in her nineties.
But we lost my granddad, so Tom died in the March,
we lost my granddad in the December.
But my family, obviously we all know,
the listeners all know how close we all are.
Like both of you suspend every Thursday
with my granddad, at my nan and granddad's.
So they had to deal with that the same year
as losing their dad.
Yeah, it's a lot, isn't it?
It's a hell of a lot.
But yeah, well, our thoughts are obviously with,
you know, Liam's family and-
And Bear.
And Bear, yeah.
And I hope you're all right, Kelsey.
So we are back at the baby show.
Well.
They want us back.
They want us back.
We must have done such a good job.
We must have done such a good job.
We must have done so well on that stage.
You ever watched us? Thanks for coming.
Thanks for cheering us on.
I mean, me and Kelsey just sat up there
and chatted nonsense really, but we had a great time.
I feel like, but with me and you,
we still actually have got more stories within us.
I think when we did the baby show,
you told me a story that I'd never heard before.
I was like, oh, I didn't know that.
Our stories are never ending.
You just gotta delve deep into the back of my memory
to try and find them.
Have I told you this story before?
Yeah, do you know this one?
Do you know this one?
Before I told a million other people.
So we are going to be back at the baby show
on Saturday the 26th of October.
From 1.30 till 2.15.
So make sure, put it in your diaries, set your alarms,
make sure you are there.
Don't miss us on that stage.
Do not miss us.
So we're gonna be talking all things pre
and post baby health with Dr. Marta and Claire Bourne.
Now Claire is a women's health physio.
Why are you laughing already before you say this?
I know what it is.
Cause I'm gonna say something really.
She's fingered you.
She's fingered me, okay.
The one and only woman that's fingered me
was a lady called Claire.
And it was non-sexual.
Yeah, no, so she checked my bits after I'd had.
I actually needed that.
Did you? I never had it do that. I actually needed that. Did you?
I never had it, I should have.
You should, I mean, when you're,
like the thought of it is slightly mortifying,
like, and as well, like, I remember when Klai did it,
she was like, right, okay, so can you stand up?
And then she put her fingers up,
and then she got me to cough,
and I was literally just stood in my room,
I was like, wow, someone could see me now doing this.
If they couldn't see me now.
Yeah, but she was absolutely incredible.
Like she just made me feel so comfortable.
And it was actually quite interesting
because I did need to do some pelvic floor exercises,
that was for sure.
Well, I actually do have a prolapse, don't I?
Oh, do you have a prolapse?
I've got really bad prolapse. Well, you need to speak to Claire
No, I know but I need surgery. Basically. I'm at the point where I need surgery. Are you? Yeah
Oh, I am bad. But then I haven't got time. World exclusive. World exclusive. Kelsey has a prolapse
It's my bowel has actually pushed forward. Is it? Yeah. Oh, right. But again George
I know we was trying to make it happy,
but I think for me with Tom and he was my priority,
this was after I had Bodin, he came out like a rocket.
Yeah.
I didn't think about myself.
So I didn't think about myself for a good two years.
So obviously we lost Tom 18 months later.
And then I was sat in the bath and I thought,
it just doesn't feel right down there. Like when I'm sat in the bath and I thought, it just doesn't feel right down there.
Like when I'm sat in the bath, it doesn't feel right.
And I thought, do you know what, Kels?
Take yourself to the hospital.
So I booked a private appointment
and she was like, yeah, you've prolapsed.
And I was like.
So there's nothing you can do
unless you get an operation.
Unless you have surgery,
because mine is so severe.
Mate, you're gonna get surgery though.
I don't know.
Yeah, but.
I feel like I'm gonna give her another exclusive away
if I say anything more.
But I don't know.
Also, I haven't really had the time.
I'm so busy.
You have to take like two, three weeks off work
and you can't even peel a potato.
My mum did laugh when I said that.
What do you mean you can't peel a potato?
You can't do anything.
You've literally got to do nothing.
And we know that Kelsey Parker is not good
at doing nothing.
Oh my God, can you imagine if we do,
mum's a word, coming live from Kelsey Parker,
who's just had her prolapse fix
and she's not peeling potatoes.
She's not peeling potatoes.
She is resting.
But also, where the kids were a little bit younger as well,
like you can't pick the kids up, you can't do anything.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. That's the thing. This is the thing with mums.
We don't care about ourselves enough to get ourselves sorted out, so then we just fall to pieces.
And then the men are like, oh, she let herself go a little bit. It's like, no, I have not got time to disaster myself.
Yeah, I've not got time to sit around and do nothing.
Can you imagine, I'd have to have someone live with me basically for the time
that I need off, so it's just not worth it right now.
I think well...
I'll just walk around with me and my prolapse.
Anyway, I can talk about that, can't I?
Yeah, we can. So, definitely come and watch us at 1.30.
She might give me some exercises.
Oh, she will. She'll do something for you.
I'm too far gone.
No, never, never.
I'll say, is there any going back?
So we have got, sorry, not to distract from your prolapse,
but we have got 10 pairs of tickets.
Can we just talk about my prolapse,
not about the 10 pairs of tickets?
Yes, we have 10 pairs of tickets to give away.
We do, woohoo!
Don't say a mum's word doesn't give you anything.
No, do not say that.
Also, I feel like I know so many pregnant people
that they better get themselves down
and get winning these tickets for-
Yeah, do you know what?
I know quite a lot of pregnant.
It's like it comes in waves, pregnancy.
Yeah, loads of my friends have just had babies now.
I feel like it's gonna be everyone getting pregnant again.
There must be like a real prime shagging time,
isn't there, where everyone goes out here.
Yeah, summer.
Yeah.
Or like January, everyone's really depressed,
so they just have sex.
Yeah, loads of sex.
We're indoors.
Yeah.
We've got no money.
We've got no money.
We've got no money.
Let's have water, fucks.
So if you go to www.thebabyshow.co.uk
forward slash Olympia
and enter the code PRMOMSTHERWORD at the checkout.
You could win a free pair of tickets
and it's PRMOMSTHERWORD all in capital letters.
PRMOMSTHERWORD.
That was my input to that.
Thank you.
I feel like your accent maybe
made it come across a little bit better.
Why should you come to the baby show? Why should they come and watch us Kelz? Okay so if you come
to the baby show you will get to see me and Georgia on stage. Yes. You will also see my
best friend Kelsey there who walks around like she owns the baby show. Last year Kelsey's best
friend Kelsey may as well have been on the stage with us. She did some kind of demonstration with like she owns the baby show. Last year, Kelsey's best friend, Kelsey,
may as well have been on the stage with us.
She did some kind of demonstration with a pram,
didn't she, for us?
Do you remember?
If it gets awkward again, we'll just pick on Kelsey.
We'll just pick on Kelsey.
So the baby show is with Lidl, GB,
and it's the UK's largest and best loved
pregnancy and baby event.
I went when I'd had Cooper.
I was gonna literally ask you this, yeah.
Yeah, did you go with Tom?
Oh, Tom loved life.
Didn't he?
Oh, so did Danny.
You get such good deals at the baby show.
Like, you're gonna get the best prices
for your prams, your bundles, anything you want.
It's show prices, so that is why it's worth going.
Yeah, it is.
George is looking down at the piece of paper thinking,
does she know this is on there?
How, how, where are you getting all this information from? No, I'm just telling you. But yeah Yeah it is. George is looking down at the piece of paper thinking does she know this is on there? How? Where are you getting all this information from? No I'm just telling you.
But yeah it is true really good deals. If you want deals get yourself to the baby show because
it's fantastic. And it's returning to the Olympia, formerly Olympia London from Friday the 25th
until Sunday the 27th but we don't care about Friday or Sunday because we're there on Saturday.
Saturday is the day.
That is the day.
George, do you know what Tom loved when we went?
What?
You know the buggy park that you go and test drive.
What one you can test drive.
I got it, he did.
He loved it and he was like,
oh, I don't know which one.
I like the silver cross.
What did we end up,
I think we ended up with the mamas and papas in the end.
Did you?
We got jewels.
Ooh.
Which I quite like. Yeah, I've got the jewels. I you? We got jewels. Ooh. Which I quite like.
Yeah, I've got the jewels.
I mean, I meant to be done a post for this.
I've got the jewels.
Flip you on.
You know, like the travel bugger.
Yeah.
So good, it's one of the best ones.
Is it?
Does it fall down nice and slow?
It falls down, goes onto the plane.
But you know they try and like,
when you now try and get them on the plane,
they try and-
They're like, no, it's not the right size.
Yeah, or they try and say,
you've got to pay.
I'm like, no.
Yeah, no. Sorry, EasyJet, not doing it's not the right size. Yeah, or they try and say, you've got to pay. I'm like, no. Yeah, no.
Sorry, EasyJet, not doing it.
Not doing it, absolutely not.
There is a breastfeeding cafe there, isn't there?
And places like warm food up and change babies.
It's catered for moms, dads, and babies.
And those grandparents you wanna take with you
to buy your bundles.
Yeah, yeah. That's what I've done. Get your grandparents in. Take your grandparents with you to buy your bundles. Yeah, yeah.
Get your grandparents with you.
There's going to be a Dads panel, which is hosted by Dadvengers.
Is that how you say it?
Nigel Clarke with Blue Star, Simon Webb.
I used to quite fancy him, you know.
Yeah, I loved Blue.
Yeah, why do we love boy bands?
I know we've obviously got a thing for boy bands, haven't we?
Who can we have next?
And Britain's Got Talent, Ashley Glazebrook, Twist and Pulse.
Twist and Pulse.
A bit of Twist and Pulse.
Fabulous.
So get yourselves there,
it's gonna be a fabulous few days.
But Saturday, 1.15 will be the prime time to be there,
because you will get to see these two beautiful faces.
Oh yeah, we will be there. That is me!

Oh, Jo!
I've got a question.
I've got a question.
I might have seen a few things in the news
about somebody potentially having a new boyfriend.
I have a boyfriend.
She's got a boyfriend.
I've got a boyfriend.
And I couldn't be happier for you.
Oh, thank you. I'm a boyfriend. And I couldn't be happier for you. Oh, thank you.
I am so happy.
You are?
Oh, this is music to my ears.
How have you found the world of dating
since Tom passed away?
Because obviously you're going to have some people
being dickheads and going, oh, it's too soon.
Or, you know, being like, what about Tom?
But we move on.
You can't just be a sad little widow.
No, and also, you know, I always said,
I was 31 when obviously Tom died.
Like, that is so young with two babies.
This is not the beginning of the podcast, what I said.
This is not the life I thought I was gonna have.
It's been quite scary.
I think the world of dating has changed so much.
Obviously, I was with Tom for 13 years.
And you and Tom met, do you meet organic?
Like where did you meet?
In a club.
We met in a club.
In a club, this is what we used to do when we were younger,
meeting clubs on nights out.
And that's what I was so scared of.
I wanted to meet someone authentically.
And you know, I'm of the age as well where people,
my friends probably are gonna get like scared now,
but you know, of like breaking up divorces.
Like we're in that.
That new stage of life where people
are actually getting divorced.
Yeah, so I've got a friend and then she was telling me
about all these dates that she went on,
on was it hinge? I felt unhinged when she she was telling me about all these dates that she went on, on, was it, was it hinge?
I felt unhinged when she was saying to me.
I was like, there's no way I can do that.
She said she went out with someone who had ADHD
and he must've had 30 phone calls
whilst they were at dinner.
Stop.
That is, one of my friends went on a date
from a dating website and she got,
she went back to his house and there was
like why would you go back to the house well i think that maybe it wasn't i don't think
it was their first date well that's what you do isn't it like at some point at some point
you go back to the house i don't know what happens i don't know yeah i can't remember
how i what happened with me and danny no yeah he took me on a date. But she'd gone back and to the ceiling above his bed
and on the posts of his bed, there was like rings.
Stop, stop.
You know like that you would tie a horse up to?
Like a proper solid ring.
And she was like, what are they for?
And he's like, I just like to tie women up.
She's like, okay, I need to go now.
Can someone call me an Uber? Help!
And then you must have like a password
for all your friends to be like, right, I'm sending it.
I'm sending it, please someone call me.
Fine, my friends were securely on
when she was in her dating phase.
Yeah, he's so lovely, I'm so happy.
Oh, I'm so glad.
We met authentically and that's what I wanted, so.
Yeah, so you met and how long, and we met authentically and that's what I wanted. So.
Yeah, so you met and how long,
so how long have you been?
I'm not gonna give too much away.
Don't give too much away.
So has he met the kids?
Yes, he's met the kids.
He's met the kids.
Oh, and what did they think?
Yeah, they really like him.
Did they?
They really like him, but I knew they would.
And has he met mom?
Yeah, I've met his parents.
Oh, okay.
Right, so it's all definitely going in the right direction.
It's going in the right direction,
and he just makes me really happy.
And I think for me, I've been trying to find happiness
for a little while now.
Yeah, of course.
And I just, you know, I'm always gonna have that guilt,
I guess that's like part of the grief process as well
is having the guilt that I'm here and I've met someone.
It will never take away the love that I had for Tom.
And with Will, he would never try and take that away
from me either and the kids.
And also Will lost his dad too.
So he was 21 when his dad passed,
so he can relate to the children as well.
Yeah, of course he can.
Well, that's actually quite comforting for you
knowing that he kind of understands those emotions as well.
Tom would want you to be happy as well.
Ultimately, that's what I guess you've got to remember is he's not,
he didn't say to you on his deathbed,
Kelsey, you were never allowed to get with anyone ever again.
I will be your-
Please don't move on from me.
I will be your one and only forever.
To be fair, you know that I love
my whole spiritual side of things.
And when I have seen people,
psychics and mediums, they've all said to me,
he's going on saying, can you just put yourself out there?
Can you go and meet someone?
You know, and I think for this year as well,
you know, in January I took my wedding rings off.
I needed to do that.
Yeah, of course.
So I feel like it's taken little steps,
but I've met someone who makes me really happy.
Well, if you're happy, I'm happy, Kelsey.
So yay, yay to that.
Yay to that.
That's really brought up the mood of this week's episode.
It really has.
Well done for that.
So we've got some listener questions.
Now, the first question that we got in
confused me a little bit
because it makes me think, listener, that you potentially haven't listened
to every episode of Mum's The Word,
because it said, IVF, why is it swerved?
I've asked so many mum podcasts to cover this topic.
We have covered this topic,
so in a number of different ways, actually.
So what I strongly suggest is you go and listen to
the episode with Gareth and Olly Lock.
Which I absolutely love.
Yeah, and they are gorgeous humans
and they had a surrogate, Bex, listen to Bex's episode
because she came on as well.
And then not that long ago, we had Kerry Northcott
who is Life with Ivor Coco on Instagram,
who is the most gorgeous human.
And she's currently going through-
Still in her IGF journey.
We've spoken about Kerry before.
Yeah.
She is inspirational.
She's putting it out there.
You can literally watch her journey.
Yeah, so we have got some episodes on that.
I mean, we can do more, by all means.
So really, you need to go back and have a little listen.
Go back and have a little listen.
Goes around back catalog.
We are the gift that keeps on giving, all right?
We really are, we really are.
If there's a topic you want us to cover it,
we might have even done it, or we will do it for you.
Because that is the type of people me and Jodra are.
We are just givers, that's what we are givers.
That sounds wrong.
Ha ha ha ha ha.
We are givers.
Kelsey's more of a taker.
Yeah, I am.
Right, so someone's asking,
please upload to your YouTube channel.
Well, that was sent to me.
But what we need to say is,
we have a YouTube channel.
This is new, isn't it?
Well, I feel like you're really going against listeners
in these.
Guys, you're wrong.
I feel like this is producer Dom.
He's going against the listeners.
They're like, right, we want IVF yet, covered it.
We want a YouTube, done it.
Done it. No, but we have, we want IVF, yeah, covered it. We want a YouTube, done it. Done it.
No, but we have, we've got,
so our YouTube channel is up and running, isn't it, Kels?
It's up and running, and it literally is.
Mom's the word.
Just search that in the search bar,
and you will find us.
And you will find us on YouTube,
and it will be videos of our podcasts.
Us in the studio.
And now you understand, if you watch on YouTube, why every guest comes in and goes, wow, you've In the studio. Of course. And now you understand if you watch on YouTube
why every guest comes in and goes,
wow, you got a studio.
Listen, our studio's pretty impressive
and today Kelsey Parker is dressed
to go along with the studio.
She's blending.
Well, I felt really sad this morning
and for me, when you're feeling sad,
you have to put a bright color on to cheer you up.
Yeah, she's dopamine dressing today to make her feel better.
So that, Mrs, is the end of our show.
Another wrap on another episode.
And remember, we have got 10 pairs of tickets
to give away to the baby show this weekend.
Just use the code PR, mum's the word,

Yeah, what's her last name?
Go on, say it.
Darius Collado.
And Claire Boone.
I don't think that's how you say it.
Sorry, Martha.
I know Martha.
We'll get the right surname on.
She has actually been on Mum's the Word
and when she came on I said,
we did have a conversation about a surname,
but I've forgotten how you say it, but we'll find out.
That was about another boring story from Georgia Jones.
I'm glad she actually said that.
Please keep that in that she just said
another boring story from Georgia Jones.
I don't know, producer
Dom sat out there nodding his head. He's like, yep, another boring, another one. I liked
