Murdaugh Murders Podcast - TSP #101 - Why We Still Have Questions About JP Miller’s Girlfriend’s Husband’s Death + What A Lawyer In The Scott Spivey Case Is Whining About
Episode Date: May 29, 2025Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell are back and we begin today’s episode revisiting (01:02) how Scott Spivey was shot to death in his vehicle by Weldon Boyd and Bradley Williams ...in September 2023. A significant development comes in the form of a "legal filing", an "absurd 9-page motion to stay" by Bradley Williams' attorney, Robert E. Lee… yup, that’s the name he prefers… We’ll also share a disturbing, but pertinent call between Weldon and his granny discussing the incident. Then (23:00) we share updates on the 'updated' sentence of suspended Hilton Head Island attorney Peter Strauss, the as-yet-unscheduled sentencing for Russell Laffitte, Michael Colucci’s retrial scheduled for June 16th and Lee Gilley’s Houston status hearing on June 4th for his murder trial. As our primary focus, (25:06) Mandy and Liz critically examine the 2025 Horry County Police investigation into the 2021 death of Chris Skinner, husband of JP Miller's alleged mistress, highlighting discrepancies between the official ruling of accidental death and video evidence suggesting something else. We’ll share police interviews with Chris Skinner's friends, noting the friend's belief the death was a suicide possibly influenced by JP Miller, and questioning the wife's inconsistent statements and demeanor. Ultimately, we are advocating for truth and justice in all these cases. Lots to cover, so let's dive in... 🥽🦈 Thank you to the Hampton County Building & Planning Department and Hampton County Sheriff Anthony Russell for helping us with the July 12th “Walking with Stephen” Event 💚 Walk Registration is Live Soon! I don't know what is going on with JP Miller's girlfriend, Susie Skinner.
But after reviewing the recent investigation files re-examining her husband Chris Skinner's
2023 death, I think someone is hiding something.
And we know, now more than ever, that we cannot rely on local police to figure out what that is."
My name is Mandy Matney. This is True Sunlight, a podcast exposing crime and corruption,
previously known as the Murdoch Murders podcast.
True Sunlight is a Luna Shark production written with journalist Liz Farrell.
Hello, hello, and we are back, baby, with the 101st episode of True Sunlight podcast.
We're feeling hydrated, rested, and ready to roll on the cases we have been covering.
Thankfully, and I mean this from the bottom of my soul,
there were no major updates while we were gone
and our team was allowed to truly detach
and rest up for the busy season ahead.
There were a few updates in the Peter Strauss,
Colucci, JP Miller, and Christa Bauer Gilly cases,
but I wanna start with the Spivey case.
As a reminder, in September 2023,
Scott Spivey was shot to death in his vehicle
by Weldon Boyd and Bradley Williams
following a road rage incident.
The sketchy Horry County Police investigation
claimed that the shooting was in self-defense,
even after Boyd admitted to following Spivey for miles.
The case has quickly grown into a massive public safety issue even after Boyd admitted to following Spivey for miles.
The case has quickly grown into a massive public safety issue
in South Carolina, as Sled, the Attorney General's office,
and the governors in action in the case
has sent a strong message that South Carolina
is not a safe place for visitors.
Because apparently our leaders are cool with raging country boys following people for 9
miles and shooting them to death in the name of Stand Your Ground.
I'll say this again for the listeners, Horry County is not a safe place to visit.
If you want to go somewhere where you feel protected by law enforcement, go somewhere
else. And I know that message will hurt businesses in Horry County, but my gosh,
something has to give for this place to create change.
The leaders have shown us that they don't care about the truths or about justice,
so we have to make them care by affecting their bottom line.
Now, Wal the Scott's Bybee case is full of gut-wrenching truths about corruption in our
justice system.
It has also renewed my hope for humanity, seeing all the people from all over the world
posting about this case, putting pressure on the South Carolina Attorney General's
office and the Governor's office, and absolutely dragging Horry County Police in a way that
they have never seen, but severely deserve.
While we were on break, I kept my eye on social media and the Justice for Scott Army has not
let up one bit. Nearly every post from Horry County Police, Alan Wilson, and Governor McMaster
was met with comments reminding South Carolina leaders
that the Scott Spivey case isn't just going to go away.
And phew, there are a lot of cold comments about Weldon.
None of these agencies have budged yet, but a gift came to us in the form of a legal filing last Tuesday that reminded us that we are
absolutely on the right track here.
So on Tuesday, May 20th, Bradley Williams' attorney filed an absurd nine-page motion
to stay, asking for a delay in the case and essentially whining about all the heat poor,
poor Bradley is facing on social media.
Before I get into the nitty-gritty details of that whiny motion, we have to talk about
the name of Bradley's attorney, Robert E. Lee.
Now I know you're going to say Mandy.
He can't help what his mother named him.
This is the South. But this man, who looks like a cross between Colonel Sanders and the actual Robert E. Lee,
is clearly proud of his name, middle initial and all.
He signs emails and legal filings as just that, Robert E. Lee, his law firm, whose Facebook
page is whiter than a basket of biscuits, with zero
people of color included that we can find, is named the Robert E. Lee Law Firm.
Now, one could easily draw conclusions about what Robert E. Lee really stands for.
And let's be real here, I feel like he wants that. Otherwise,
at least he would drop the E in his name, right? Anyway, Robert E. Lee filed a motion last Tuesday
that will one day be a part of my art collection called The Good Ol' Boys Bitching About Us,
and this motion was almost as silly as the time Russell Lafitte's attorney complained
about me calling Elick Murdoch's banker buddy a doofus. While Robert E. Lee's motion is now moot,
for reasons we'll talk about in a minute, this motion to delay the case until the Sled
investigation is resolved was full of interesting tidbits that tell me that Team Weldon and Team Bradley are feeling
the heat, clinging to a false narrative and not understanding the truth of the matter in this case.
And they are really not understanding why the public has every right to care about it.
So, first of all, unsurprisingly, Robert E. Lee does not have his facts straight.
He plainly states that Scott Spivey initiated the exchange of gunfire in which he was killed.
And there is absolutely no evidence to back that up.
In fact, evidence points to the contrary.
He also said that Scott Spivey was under the influence of alcohol and other intoxicating drugs at the contrary. He also said that Scott's PIVy was under the influence of alcohol
and other intoxicating drugs at the time. But, as Scott's amazing sister brilliantly
pointed out, Scott's toxicology was done days after his death, and his blood alcohol level
was not at all reliable.
And it didn't show other intoxicating drugs in his system.
The only evidence we can find to trace that rumor
is all from Weldon Boyd and his deputy police chief buddy,
Brandon Strickland, in their romantic phone calls,
where they essentially both said that they hoped
that there were drugs in Scott's system,
and Strickland basically said that he urged
for a toxicology report on Scott Spivey
just to help Weldon's case.
Now, if the truth was on your side
and all you wanted was a fair case,
then why rely on false information?
Because remember, good old boys muddied the water
to make it look deep.
And the Robert E. Lee types of the world
are apparently not used to sunlight exposing their dirt.
So here we are shining the light
and showing you just how messy these good old boys are.
In the motion, Robert E. Lee accuses Jennifer Spivey
of conspiring with Mark Tinsley
to persuade the public to favor Scott Spivey in this case,
which is absurd.
But let me have David read two of my favorite paragraphs.
To attain a collateral advantage,
plaintiff and her attorneys have widely circulated
the documents obtained in this case,
to perpetuate a conspiracy and engage in a concerted effort to intimidate
and harass law enforcement and the South Carolina Attorney General to reconsider the prior determination
that this defendant and Boyd are immune from prosecution.
As a direct result of the actions of the plaintiff
and her attorneys, an investigation of misconduct
committed by law enforcement officers has been initiated.
It is being conducted by Sled and is pending.
It is uncertain at this time
whether additional criminal investigations
will be initiated concerning this defendant and Boyd
based upon the false narratives asserted
and perpetuated by the plaintiff and her attorneys.
The law enforcement officers currently under investigation by Sled are among the witnesses
necessary to this defendant's and Boyd's civil case.
Okay, okay.
I gotta take some deep breaths here to respond without screaming or laughing hysterically
because what in the Robert E. Lee is he trying to say here?
As y'all know, Jennifer Spivey,
an attorney Mark Tinsley filed a lawsuit June 3rd, 2024
after the attorney general's office,
Sled and Horry County police
gave the Spivey family no other choice.
Jennifer knew there were major pieces
of the investigation that
were missing and no one would give her those public records that she was
entitled to. So Jennifer did what she had to do and she filed a lawsuit to get
those public records that law enforcement did not want her or the
public to see. Those files were full of issues, far bigger than this case,
and absolutely needed to be exposed to the taxpayers
of Horry County and of South Carolina,
whose hard earned dollars go to these police officers.
A corrupt police officer is absolutely a public issue.
And of course, Jennifer Spivey shared those files
with the public because she had no other choice.
Sharing those files was not an act of conspired vengeance
against the police as Robert E. Lee wants the public to think
it was merely a warning shot from Jennifer
showing all of Horry County,
this could happen to you too.
Public records of public interest should be public.
Now, Robert E. Lee had to mention that two officers involved in
this investigation have lost their jobs since those files were widely circulated.
And let's be real here, they lost their jobs
over some of the most egregiously corrupt conduct
we have ever witnessed from a police officer
in an investigation.
From old deputy chief Strickland saying
that he was working in the shadows
to send a good old boy to the scene and cover for Weldon
to old officer Damian Vescovich showing Weldon
a piece of paper that literally said,
act like a victim, camera,
while being interviewed on camera.
This case is bad, y'all.
It's even worse now, looking at it again with fresh eyes.
In the May 20th filing, Robert E. Lee is arguing point blank that they need those officers
who are under investigation for being hella corrupt as a part of their defense.
Which is funny.
Ah yes, I'm sure an Horry County jury is definitely going to believe those cops who are no longer cops
because of what they did in this case. But go off, Robert E. Lee. Here is David, again,
with Robert E. Lee's own words.
It would be patently prejudicial and unfair for this defendant and Boyd to be required to advance this case while under threat of further investigation
at the behest of plaintiff and her attorneys.
The unfairness is compounded by the likely inability
of this defendant and Boyd to call witnesses to testify
who are under investigation by Sled
for alleged misconduct concerning the investigation
into the incidents that give rise to this case. Of more compelling import, several of the defendants
and Boyd's witnesses have been harassed and intimidated by individuals who are purporting to advance false narratives
initiated by the plaintiffs and her attorneys.
Plaintiff and her counsel have engaged multiple network and social media outlets and disseminated
pre-trial information about this case to launch a social media
Smear campaign in order to inflict severe emotional distress upon this defendant and
Boyd in an attempt
Indeed a demand for law enforcement and the South Carolina Attorney General
to reopen a criminal investigation
into the actions of this defendant and
Boyd
Prejudicial and unfair
like a homicide investigation directed by a deputy police chief who
Admittedly working in the shadows on behalf of the suspect?
Like a police department hiding public records that expose their lies?
Like a deputy showing a homicide suspect a note to act like a victim while he's being
interviewed?
All of that is prejudicial and unfair, Robert E. Lee.
And who is being harassed, exactly?
If the truth is on the witnesses' side, there should be nothing to hide, right?
I also have to say, I've read hundreds of social media comments about the Spivey case.
Seriously, it was my favorite pastime while on break.
And y'all, they kept it clean.
I never saw any threats.
I never saw anyone directly telling anyone to
lie. I just saw hundreds of people furious for the Spivey family and simply asking for
the case to get the proper investigation they deserve."
Ninety-nine percent of the online comments that I have seen have been directed at public
figures, not at individuals. And what is a social media outlet, Robert E. Lee?
Is that a good old boy dig,
like that time that other attorney called us viral podcasters?
And here's the thing, in an impressive stretch
to reach for any fragment of justification
that could possibly help his client. Robert
E. Lee is arguing that Mark Tinsley has done exactly what Mark's clients, the Beach family,
accused Greg Parker of doing in the boat crash case. And that's the 2019 case that was filed
in the aftermath of Mallory Beach's death in the boat crash caused by Paul Murdoch.
Greg Parker is the owner of Parker's gas station
and kitchen, and he is currently being sued by the Beach family
in a civil conspiracy case.
Now, Robert E. Lee actually had the audacity
to bring up the word knife fighter,
trying to make a connection between that word, which,
as our listeners of Murdoch Murders podcast would
know, Mark used in his filings against Greg Parker. Robert E. Lee seems to be suggesting
that this is Mark's particular area of expertise, not as an attorney, but as a knife fighter?
This is beyond dumb. First, the term knife fighter was used to describe South Carolina
political operative Wes Donahue,
whom Parker's team had hired to help in the boat crash case.
That word came off of Wes Donahue's website, where he had described himself as a political
or social media knife fighter.
We're not exactly sure what Donahue thinks that means about his skills, but we consider
social media and political knife fighters to be paid operatives who use public accounts
on social media to manufacture and spread
a particular sentiment or message that is meant
to take down an opponent and not a term for people
who use their real names, giving their real opinions
on real information that is collected on the behalf of
and owned by the public.
So maybe Mr. Lee should take a nice oxygen-filled CPAP machine nap before
writing his next motion because his brain is breathing stale air.
As far as other updates in the case, first, the State Supreme Court has
assigned a judge to the case.
For those of you who followed our coverage of the Murdoch cases, you'll remember that
judges aren't generally assigned to cases in South Carolina unless the Supreme Court
deems them complex enough to warrant an assigned judge.
The wrongful death case against the two men who killed Scott Spivey, that's Weldon Boyd
and Bradley Williams, is obviously very complex.
But also there was a sudden conflict of interest that popped up that I will tell you more about
in a second.
The judge assigned to the Spivey case is Judge Eugene Bubba Griffith.
Yes, I said Bubba.
So Judge Bubba is going to be the one to decide whether the Stand Your Ground immunity applies
to what Weldon and Bradley did that day in September 2023 when they gunned down 33-year-old
Scott Spivey and claimed self-defense.
Despite so much evidence to the contrary and despite, you know, hashtag act like a victim,
the two-day motions hearing, including the immunity hearing that had been scheduled for
the week of June 9th, is no longer happening.
And that's in part because of this new judge assignment.
The previous judge who was set to hear arguments was Judge Alex Hyman.
In what to us looks like typical good ol' boy defense lawyer trickery, Bradley Williams,
who along with Weldon had moved to have the
immunity hearing postponed until they knew whether the criminal case against them was
being reopened, and who surely got the feeling that Judge Hyman wasn't going to be amenable
to that, hired one of Judge Hyman's friends and added him to their defense team.
Not only did that present an immediate appearance of a conflict, there
were other bonuses for Bradley. The new attorney, Morgan Martin, has experience with Stand Your
Ground cases and has health issues that prevented him from being able to attend an immunity
hearing on June 9th. So there you are. There's your good old boy lesson for the day. If you
have money and if you're being sued in South Carolina, all you have to do is
tag in the right attorney at the right time to get what you want. We don't want to leave you hanging
when it comes to Weldon Boyd's phone calls, so here's something to tide you over until next week.
Here is Weldon talking to his granny, Vernon Boyd, on September 12, 2023,
three days after he shot and killed Scott Spivey.
3 days after he shot and killed Scott Spivey. Well, he was trying hard to kill us.
So we don't know what him to do that.
And you know, I don't know that his parents know.
Maybe he was a problem person. I just don't know.
But it's done. It's over with, it's sad,
but there's a set of parents out there grieving
because their son did something stupid.
That's the only thing I have any kind of emotion towards
at this point is, you know, it sucks for his parents,
but he made a choice
and put me in a position where I had to make a choice.
Well, we just don't know.
Somebody could, I could be going somewhere
and somebody could pull up beside me at the crazy
and start shooting at me.
Well, that's why I gave you guns.
But I don't have it in the car.
Well, you need to have a gun on you at all times.
Well, well, then, I don't have, this car doesn't have a place for me to lock up a gun, a foot of gun.
I'd have to, if I, if I got out of my car, I'd have to put it in my pocketbook. I can't take it in my pocketbook.
my car I'd have to put it in my pocketbook. I can't take it in my pocketbook. I can't go in places with my gun on me and if I left it in the car I'd be afraid somebody would
steal it. Why can you not go in places with a gun on you? Cause I don't have a permit.
Who cares? Who's going to arrest a grandmother? Carry a gun. Oh I might I might take it now and somebody starts pointing at me I'll just point it at them.
Well, don't point it unless you're gonna pull the trigger. Yeah, that's what that guy did.
He rode down the highway aiming a gun at all these different people.
And look where that got him. Someone shot his ass.
Well, he ran you off the road though. He ran other people off the road.
Ran other people off the road. Ran me off the road while I was pulling a trailer at 60 miles an hour into a ditch almost.
He was just wow.
Well, now he's dead, so.
Yeah. Watch what you put on Facebook, okay?
I am, well just um.
Evan, well, just watch what you put on Facebook
about that, about Jordan, about anything,
cause people just go crazy with stuff like that.
Just don't, don't let your business be out there.
Don't air your wash, okay?
Okay.
Remember, now I'm your granny.
I'm talking to you.
You listen to me.
Well, touch base with Paul and let him know
they finished the vehicle,
going through all the vehicles today.
Oh, which vehicles?
His truck and my truck. Oh. And that he was shooting a 45 and that he had discharged all
his ammo and was in the process of reloading.
And we had shot him multiple times.
And then when he showed his head, I shot him in the face and that's what ended it.
And we'll be right back.

We have a few more quick updates for you, starting with the case of suspended Hilton
Head Island attorney Peter Strauss, who is a captive insurance and overseas tax shelter
expert who pleaded guilty in November 2023 to one federal count of aiding and abetting
removal of property to prevent seizure
in connection with a multimillion dollar transfer
he made in January, 2019 on behalf of a client
whose assets were under federal seizure at the time.
The client was Jeff Karpoff,
who is currently serving time in federal prison
for a billion dollar Ponzi scheme.
Peter Strauss' name is also associated
with the investigation into where
Elick Murdoch might have hidden millions of dollars
that he had stolen from clients.
Peter hasn't been charged with any crimes
related to Elick Murdoch's schemes,
nor have any public accusations been made against him
by law enforcement.
That said, if there were a trophy for the man
who kicked and screamed and schemed the
loudest to get out of criminal consequences, Peter Strauss would have been locked in an
old lady slap battle with Russell Lafitte for it.
And in the end, Peter would get that trophy because here we are, still talking about his
sentencing 18 months after he pleaded guilty.
In February, Judge Richard Gergel sentenced Peter to nine months in prison.
But Peter, who came to court wearing his post-guilty plea metaphorical, good dad and great community
member mask that made the people who know him well roll their eyes, wind his way into
delaying his report date.
Why?
Because apparently he was volunteering at a private school on Hilton Head.
It's a school owned and operated by a former good old girl, Hilton Head Island principal,
who is locally famous for two things.
Being forced to resign after an after hours in school extramarital affair
with an on duty Beaufort County Sheriff's Office deputy
that initially got swept under the rug by the then school
superintendent who was super shady and having a blindly loyal fan club of wealthy Hilton
Head Island parents.
Those are the two things she's known for.
Shocking that Peter would be a volunteer teacher for her and shocking that Peter would be a
volunteer at a private school that isn't subject to FOIA's inquiring about the reality of his quote, volunteer time.
Anyway, Peter made a weepy G. Willikers plea to the court asking for his report date to
prison to come after his students graduated.
And here we are.
It is graduation season.
And guess what?
Peter's sentence of nine months is essentially an
ice cube that is being held in a giant's warm hand, just melting away as the days go
by because Peter's delay tactic worked. On May 20th, Judge Gergel ordered Peter to serve
eight months, starting June 15th at a federal prison camp. Guys, the website actually says camp about an
hour from Hilton Head to facilitate family visits because guess what? On the
day of his son's high school graduation, Peter announced that his second wife is
pregnant with his fifth child. So yeah, just another good old boy treating his
criminal sentence like it's a business deal. Let's all just hope that Russell Lafitte is too busy charging his ankle monitor
to be listening to today's episode because we don't need him getting any ideas.
Speaking of, he pleaded guilty to six federal counts in April
and we're still waiting on a date for his sentencing hearing.
On Wednesday, South Carolina state prosecutors were in court for a motions hearing in the Michael Calucci
case, which is going to trial June 16 in Berkeley County.
Michael is accused of strangling his wife, Sarah Lynn Moore
Calucci, to death in 2015.
Michael is the stepson of Ivo Calucci,
who was a wealthy and well-known jeweler in the Charleston area.
At the time of Sarah Lynn's death, Michael seemed to consider himself a big player in
the community and, as such, had a lot of political connections, including with the police.
The same police that investigated Sarah Lynn's death and immediately took Michael's word
that Sarah Lynn had killed herself with a garden hose, on a chain-link fence, outside
their jewelry warehouse, 20 feet from where Michael, who appeared to have scratches and other
marks on his face and arms, was sitting in their car facing her and waiting for
her to use the bathroom. Sarah Lynn appeared to have been dragged on some
rocks and had markings around her neck that seemed more indicative of her being
strangled with a thin cord from behind, according to testimony during Michael's first trial in 2018.
That trial ended with a hung jury because the prosecution, in our opinions, showed up
unprepared.
That said, we're going to be following this trial closely and we'll update you next week
on what went down at the motions hearing this week.
The first trial was full of South Carolina's customary
courtroom drama, and it's available on Court TV's website
to watch in full.
Speaking of court happenings, there's
a status conference coming up in the Krista Bauer case
in Houston, Texas next week on June 4.
Lee Gilley is accused of killing Krista, his wife,
and their unborn child while their two young kids were
home with them.
According to reports, Lee, like Michael Colucci, wife and their unborn child while their two young kids were home with them.
According to reports, Lee, like Michael Calucci, told police that his wife had killed herself.
Turns out no, she did not.
Like Sarah Lynn Calucci, she died by strangulation, according to reports.
Lee faces capital murder charges and like all the other good old boys we cover, he seems
to believe he can purchase his way out of consequence. Lee was indicted on a capital murder charge in April. He's represented in part by Dick
DeGuerin, one of the most influential and well-known criminal defense attorneys in Texas.
If you followed the Robert Durst case or know who David Koresh is,
you might recognize Dick's name. He represented them both.
Dick's name. He represented them both. Okay, today we are talking about churchy business bro, J.P. Miller, who probably fell on his
knees and kissed the earth the moment the name Weldon Boyd first appeared on True Sunlight.
Not so fast, J.P. We are not done with you, girl.
First, in typical fashion, J.P.'s felonious father, the so-called Reverend Wayne Miller,
has yet to respond to the two lawsuits filed against him, JP, and their churchy businesses
by Jane Doe One and Jane Doe Two.
The lawsuits accuse JP and his father of using their churches and schools as a playground
for sexual, physical, and
spiritual abuse.
And JP stands accused of raping a 15-year-old girl and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old.
Wayne appears to be doing what Wayne has done in the past when faced with potential consequences
for his ungodly actions, and that is to hide and claim to be broke.
So the Jane Doe's, who are
represented by attorneys Randy Hood and Mark Tensley, asked the court for a
default judgment against Wayne, and on Wednesday afternoon they were granted
this request for both cases. They will now have to provide evidence to the
court for the judge to determine damages that will be paid by both Wayne and his
churchy businesses.
Oopsie Wayne, time to rethink that arrogant strategy of yours, huh?
A hearing is expected to be held on June 23rd for this presentation of evidence and to hear
arguments in the counterclaims that have been filed by JP and both Jane Doe's.
Alright, so as soon as we were done finishing up episode 100 before our break, we finally
received our FOIA request back for the reopened and quickly reclosed investigation into Chris
Skinner's death from the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
So we want to share parts of that with you today because it is incredibly annoying, but
also fascinating.
And I say fascinating because it truly boggles our minds how investigators and even the media
and people on social media seem to be missing the point of taking another look at the Skinner case.
We will get to that.
For our newest listeners, let's get you caught up with a quick recap.
For more on the Chris Skinner case, listen to episodes
76, 84, and 93.
For now, here is what you need to know. The Chris Skinner story is an important part of
the Micah Miller case. Or, as we refer to it, the Micah Francis case. Because when Micah
Miller died by gunshot in April 2024, she was separated from her husband.
Churchie Business Bro and pastor J.P. Miller, a man who she accused of grooming her from the age
of 15 and mentally, spiritually, physically, and medically abusing her from the time their marriage
began in 2017. In April 2024, Micah had not only filed court documents to start the divorce process,
she was also asking the court to reinstate her maiden name. So since we are the judges
of the True Sunlight courtroom, we did that. And that is why we will call it the Micah
Francis case, and we're pretty sure it bothers JPM Miller that we strip Micah of his last name.
So a win-win on that.
In May 2024, after Micah's mysterious death which was ruled a suicide despite all the
red flags, J.P. Miller's previous ex-wife filed for emergency custody of two of the
four children she shares with J.P.
As part of that filing, she included an
explosive affidavit in which she testified that, among other nefarious things, JP was carrying on
an affair with a woman and a member of JP's church named Susie Skinner in 2021 while married to Mika,
which, you know, stood out to all of us following this case because a woman named Susie Skinner
seemed to be glued to JP's side in the aftermath
of Micah's death and was rumored and later confirmed
to be JP's girlfriend at the time.
According to the affidavit, Susie and JP
were using their children's involvement in soccer
as a conduit to their relationship.
JP has denied any romantic relationship with Susie
before Micah's death.
According to the affidavit, in September, 2021,
Susie's husband, Chris Skinner,
ended up dead two weeks after he is believed
to have warned JP to stay away from his wife and family.
JP's ex-wife wrote in her affidavit,
"'It is chilling to know that the spouses
"'of both Susie and JP are now dead from tragic events.
She's right about that.
It is chilling.
Because not only were Chris's and Micah's bodies
both found in water, neither death appears
to have been investigated that much
beyond law enforcement immediately taking the word
of Susie and JP respectively respectively in terms of the underlying causes
of Chris' and Micah's deaths.
Now, Chris was 41 years old at the time of his death and had been married to Susie for
17 years.
They met because Chris was a quadriplegic and Susie was his physical therapist.
The two had two children who were around 14 years old in 2021 at the time of their dad's death.
Chris and his $75,000 electric wheelchair were found at the bottom of their community pool on September 9, 2021.
His death was ruled an accident, according to documents from the Horry County Coroner's Office.
No civil action has ever been filed by Chris' estate against the Homeowners Association or the wheelchair manufacturer.
When Micah's death came under scrutiny last year, we began receiving messages from Myrtle Beach residents who told us to look into Chris's death as well.
Because what are the odds, right? So we did.
We got the case file and went through every surveillance video, police video, and all
the reports several times.
When we watched the surveillance footage, it seemed clear to us that Chris had taken
his own life.
Behind the scenes, we brought this to the attention of the coroner's office, and publicly
we called for a coroner's inquiry into Chris' death, a reexamining of the facts surrounding
his death, because we did not believe that Chris
died accidentally.
And that's very important.
If the cause of Chris's death was suicide, then this both broadens and narrows the question
of Micah's death, which again was ruled to be a suicide.
Suzie's account of Chris's cause of death was not consistent with the surveillance footage
where Chris paused at the pool's edge before moving the joystick on his wheelchair forward.
Nor was the description consistent with other versions of the story about how Chris died that day.
For instance, in the coroner's report, which seems to have relied substantially on a conversation with a Myrtle Beach Police Department detective, Chris drowned after the wheel of his wheelchair
got caught on the edge of the pool.
According to the story Susie was sharing
with friends, family, and church members,
Chris's wheelchair malfunctioned,
causing him to be propelled into the pool.
In 2025, that seemed to turn into the story
that Chris fell asleep and got confused,
and that's how he ended up in the pool.
Back in 2021, Susie told police
that Chris was not suicidal at the time.
But the video shows Chris with his hand on the joystick
propelling himself into the pool.
On top of that, members of his family
say he had been suicidal for a while,
even asking his father to shoot him, according to reports.
In the lead up to his death, Chris had expressed hatred and disdain for JP Miller
and Solid Rock Church,
had allegedly told JP to stay away from his family,
and had told people in his life
that Suzie was pulling away from him,
according to police reports.
People in his life told police this past year
that Chris hadn't been showered for at least a year,
and he was seen wearing the same clothes for a week at a time and appeared to own just
one pair of pants shortly before his death.
His pants, according to police reports, were torn, stained, and had a broken zipper.
Chris would be home alone, and there were times when he would have no way to remove
a too-hot sweatshirt or retrieve food or water, according to witness reports.
Back to the point, there are plenty of people who don't believe that Micah took her own
life.
But if she did, and if Chris did, then the question becomes this.
Were they driven to it through systematic gaslighting, the power of suggestion, through
spiritual brainwashing, by being told repeatedly that their bodies would be made whole in the
afterlife, or by neglect and abuse consciously or unconsciously
meant to weaken their resolves.
These are just questions and not accusations, by the way,
but they are logical ones that should be asked
if it is determined that Chris did in fact die by suicide.
One of the major allegations against JP Miller
is that he had successfully manipulated Micah
into believing she was mentally ill
and doomed to a life of being institutionalized. So it would seem that if the husband of JP's alleged
mistress at the time killed himself rather than died after accidentally falling into the pool.
And if this death by suicide happened in proximity to some sort of ultimatum given to JP about staying
away from his wife and kids.
It would seem like something the FBI would need to know as they continue their investigation into
JP's alleged role into Micah's alleged suicide. Right? Was something more going on here?
It's that simple. If Chris died by suicide, then that's what his death certificate should say.
We called on the coroner's office to watch the surveillance video and determine whether
what they were seeing still led them to believe Chris's death was an accident.
In no way were we ever suggesting that Chris had been murdered.
And in no way were we asking the Myrtle Beach Police Department to reopen the case to examine
whether there was foul play.
Again, this should have been easy.
If Chris died by suicide,
then it raises questions about JP's role in Chris's life in the weeks leading up
to his death, just like with Micah. But somehow investigators kept missing that
point. At times, the investigator seemed more concerned about why now? Why are
people asking them to look at this case now? And they missed key questions,
especially when it came to their interview with Suzy.
In the FOIA we got back a few weeks ago,
there were eight recordings of interviews
that Myrtle Beach Police
and Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard
conducted together.
The recordings are redacted, sometimes heavily,
and sometimes in a way that makes it almost sound
like the person speaking is swearing up a storm.
The police told us that all the redactions were to remove personal identifying information referenced in the interviews,
such as people's names.
All references to Chris, Suzie, JP, and others are covered over by loud bleeps.
Going into these interviews, we knew that some people in Chris's life were told his death was an accident,
and others were told it was a suicide. Chris's sister says that Susie told her Chris had killed
himself but warned her not to tell anyone this. Susie's reason? To protect their kids.
Which is very understandable but also doesn't change facts. And shouldn't change facts.
But sometimes facts get in the way of other things, like potential insurance payouts.
More on that in a second.
According to one of the interviews
at the time of Chris's death,
JP told a close associate of his
that Chris had killed himself
and that there was a suicide note.
This close associate who was also told by JP,
who was married to Mike at the time, remember,
that Suzy was JP's best friend.
There's police video showing JP arriving at the scene
of Chris's death with Micah in tow,
along with video showing Suzy doing some sort of
demonstrative, dramatic prayer march
as she was being led by investigators and neighbors
from her home to the pool,
where EMTs were trying to resuscitate Chris. According to a police report from the initial investigation, Suzie told police
that Chris had a do-not-resuscitate order, but after they waited for her with
Chris in the ambulance, Suzie never produced that paperwork for them. From
the jump, it seemed like Myrtle Beach police went into this case a little
sideways and unprepared. In a recording labeled interview number one by police,
the investigator did not seem to have all his ducks in a row.
This could have been an interviewing technique
where he pretended to know nothing
in an effort to get more information
from the person he was talking with,
or it could have been that he truly didn't know.
But listen to this.
In terms of the affidavit,
would that be in her maiden name or her married name?
Do you know?
Y'all, he was referring to the affidavit
from JP's ex-wife from May, 2024.
The one that is like the OG source
in terms of the why of why everyone wanted Chris's case
to get another look.
It is the literal first square on the game board for this.
And he didn't know about it? That is not a great start. Again, maybe he was faking his lack of
knowledge here, but that question seemed like it was only just then he was learning about this
affidavit. And if that's the case, what? This is a reopening of a death investigation
where a man's death is on camera and what's on camera does not seem to match what's in the
reports or the official cause of death. And it's a death that is linked to another death with the
same players. How is anyone going into this investigation without reading that affidavit and what allegedly
happened around Chris' death?
Come on.
More on Chris Skinner's death after a quick break.
We'll be right back.

In interview number two, investigators spoke
with a friend of Chris's who had known Chris before
and during his marriage to Suzy.
We've taken out identifying details
and we have changed his voice slightly.
But here is what he had to say.
"...God was just, he had the best attitude and the best outlook on life of almost anybody
I know, even including, I mean, despite being wheelchair balanced and being able to do everything
that he'd been through, had an incredible optimism and energy.
He always had the magnetic personality.
When Micah's story came out last year,
Chris's friend said he remembered JP Miller
from Chris's celebration of life service back in 2021.
And he also remembered some things
that had crossed his mind at the time.
Everything that's come out, He also remembered some things that had crossed his mind at the time. up beneath the surface that I didn't realize that now that I realized it, it's just made
me look at things in a different light.
For instance, in the year or so leading up to Chris's death, Chris did seem different,
the friend said.
He was not himself.
I kind of made some notes knowing I was going to talk to you guys. But there's things that in, you know, knowing everything now, he definitely was losing his
love for life and seemed more depressed.
And I knew that he was struggling.
I knew that he told me that the same to him.
She wasn't caring for him as much as she used to.
He felt like he was a burden.
Because of this, Chris's friend thought
Chris might have killed himself.
Chris's friend said that he was also
told that it was a suicide, but that someone,
and the name is bleeped out, did not want the kids to know.
So he was persuaded to fall in line
and even went so far as to reassure,, the name is redacted but presumably Suzy
that he didn't believe Chris would have ever killed himself.
And from that point, he himself believed it to be an accidental death.
And then there was a story that I think came out that I think really even that I believed until recently was that there was some type of
you know, malfunction with the wheelchair.
Chris's friend also told police that he and Chris used to chat over Facebook Messenger,
but that when he went to look up the last time they had spoken on Facebook,
all the messages were gone because someone had deleted Chris's account.
The two also spoke over the phone regularly.
He shared with me that he was struggling.
You can tell in his voice that he was struggling.
So, 2021, I would say the last like six months of his life and stuff, he just, he seemed,
you know,
I think I even remember seeing some things on Facebook,
but he just seemed like he was struggling.
And one of the things that I wrote down to tell you guys
was he did tell me that he felt like a burden
and he felt like a bitch.
Wasn't the same to him. that he felt like a burden and he felt like a ****.
Wasn't the same damn.
He also told me that he's been living his whole life with this hope that he would walk again.
Was telling him that he had to accept the fact
that he would never walk again.
And,
I don't know, he just, he seemed for like,
I would say the first, maybe the six months or a year
before he died, he seemed a lot more like melancholy
and sad and just that he was having,
he also had a really tough run, health-wise.
He had dead sores, and he was in a lot of pain,
all that stuff.
I just think that he said things that made,
that he was feeling like a burden,
and that she wasn't,
he could tell she didn't wanna to take care of him anymore.
She meaning Suzie.
Chris's friend then told police that he thinks JP is the problem here.
I've always thought she was like an amazing, the most amazing person.
I mean if you want to know my opinion, in like a freaking religious cult
and she's under the influence of that guy.
Just knowing her, like she's weak
is the word I was gonna use.
And I believe that she is totally manipulated by,
I guess,
I guess. I mean, she is incredibly, incredibly devout Christian woman.
And so being like, I'm not trying to excuse her.
If you had talked to me six months ago,
I would have told you that I just,
I felt like she was being totally manipulated.
I do believe she's under his control,
like a cult or like a brainwashed or something like that. I felt like she was being totally manipulated. I do believe she's under his control,
like a cult or like brainwashed or something like that.
I do believe she's one of these people
that especially because it's a path,
it's not like it's just like some God,
it's also like he's a quote unquote man of God.
I think she's totally under his control.
Chris's friend then said Susie was the perfect victim for someone like JP Miller.
I never thought about insurance money or never thought about, you know, an affair or anything like that.
But I certainly think all of those things were factors now from the other stuff that I know.
things were factors now from the other stuff that I know.
Just that sort of um
typical, I wanna say typical, I'm a Christian and faith is important to me but she is, there's that sort of
submissive Christian woman, do you know what I mean?
Yep, makes sense.
My wife is a Christian,
my wife is not a submissive Christian woman.
And I'm not trying to be, you know,
demeaning toward her or anything, but
she is the perfect victim for a guy like him.
And I think that guy's a freaking sociopath.
Chris's friend told the investigator that he believed Chris had killed himself.
And even though Chris never mentioned JP Miller's name to him or his suspicions of an affair,
Chris did talk about changes he had seen in Suzie toward the end.
When asked about a motive why Suzie might want Chris's official cause of death to be
listed as accidental and not suicide, Chris's friend said the insurance money would be a consideration, but that he did not believe
Suzie to be someone who would think like that, bathe him, feed him.
Like when I went down to Texas, I stayed with them.
She had a crane, she would, this was before the kids and stuff.
Maybe the kids were really little, but like,
like, couldn't exist in life without her taking care of him.
Around the clock, you know?
He told me that things were different with her, that
she maybe was
maybe just growing tired of it or
wasn't treating him the same and
wasn't baiting him as much.
It wasn't like the same toward him.
I think that made him lose his little
if.
Chris's friend did not mince words
when it came to what he believed to
be J.P. Miller's
effect on Suzy Skinner. Pro-typical Christian, you know self-spoken Christian woman and man
I think she just got taken over by this freaking sociopathic
cult-leading
You know fake Christian
And I think it's the point that he took his own life
And I think afterwards whether that was you know, no, I don't know, we'll know like how calculated it was or whether, but I think afterwards it was clearly, there was clearly a story put out about that it wasn't suicide.
I kind of fell for it.
I did fall for it. Um, and um, whether it was for money or not, I'll never know, but...
Okay.
...not at... that I see now is nothing.
Like she is... it is a different woman than the woman I've known for 20 years.
And I do... I do feel like, sadly,
like she discussed up and all this stuff.
Doesn't mean she's not responsible, you know?
Now for the weird part,
Chris's friend was adamant that Chris had a fear of water,
which is interesting because Susie and Chris
had fought their HOA to have a
chairlift installed so that he could swim at the pool. And like we've told
you before, Chris had learned to surf using an adaptive surfboard that was
made for people with spinal injuries. So what was that all about? Did Chris
simply overcome his fear of water or was there something else going on there?
And we'll be right back. Biscuit or English muffin sandwiches, small hot coffee, and more. Limited time only at Participating Wendy's Taxes Extra.
According to interviews with Chris' family, Suzie told investigators in 2023 that Chris had no
family in the Horry County area, so investigators didn't speak with them
at the time of his death.
If they had, they said they would have informed police
that Chris had been experiencing a dark time
and had spoken about driving his wheelchair
into a lake or a pool.
Despite knowing that Chris's death
was the result of his suicide,
his family said they took Susie's lead
when it came to her desire to protect the children
by saying Chris's
death wasn't accidental.
Though they knew at the time that Chris felt like Susie had been pulling away, his death
took on new meaning for them when they learned that Susie was allegedly having an affair
with JP at that time, and that JP's wife Micah had died in a similarly tragic way.
They no longer believed that calling Chris's death an accident was just
about protecting the children, but rather about protecting Suzy and possibly JP. And they began
to wonder if Chris's cause of death was connected to an insurance payout. So that's the reason.
That's why we called upon the coroner to open an inquest into Chris's death, because it seemed like
something more could have been happening here.
Suzy Skinner, as you can imagine, disagrees.
In her interview with police earlier this year, she was angry and indignant,
but also she kind of seems to admit that Chris killed himself.
So let's talk about it.
The detective started his interview with Suzy by asking her the basics.
The detective started his interview with Suzy by asking her the basics.
Going through the initial investigation when you were interviewed by Detective Soud years ago, right? That was never alluded to. It was more, there's no way he would have done something to himself.
This was certainly an accident. Surely there
was an issue with his chair, that kind of thing. So our reason for talking today is
to clarify your original statement. Is there anything that you would say differently now
in 2025?
No. And can I explain something to you?
Of course.
Let me break this down for you. He's a C5-6 quad. Do you know what that
means? Tell me what muscles he can use.
Very few.
I mean specifically. Biceps he can bend. On his left hand he functioned as a C6. On his
right side he functioned as a C5. On the left side, C6, he's got wrist extension that's
a 5 out of 5 strength. I am a physical therapist specializing in spinal cord injury. So I've got some expert advice here. He can bend his biceps. He has zero triceps. Cannot
control his triceps at all. His arm goes up like this. He can't move it. If his arm comes
down like this, he can resist it with biceps, but he has no triceps whatsoever. He has absolutely zero sensation in his hand, none whatsoever. This
is C6, this is C7, this is C8. C7 and C8 have zero function, zero sensation. C6 was spotty
because it was an injury that was C5 on the right, C6 on the left. It wasn't good sensation.
He could not feel his hand at all. Okay. When he drives his
wheelchair, the only thing he's using is wrist extension and his biceps. And then he's got a
little, he's got some triceps or not triceps deltoid in the front. So he can extend his arm. He can
move it forward. He can bend his elbow and he can use his wrist extension. That's all he's got.
No sensation. Okay.
extension that's always got no sensation. Okay. So to be clear, this is the first thing that Suzy wanted to clarify from her previous statement about the C muscle functions, which is a kind
of weird thing to launch into, right? I know she's a physical therapist and whatnot, but girl,
this is about your husband, not your patient.
And you told the police that he wasn't suicidal
and you made $23,000 off a GoFundMe from his death
that was publicly declared a tragic accident.
Would Suzy have made that kind of money
if the public knew what was allegedly going on
with her and JP at the time that her husband was suicidal?
C functions is not what we're talking about here.
But also why does she keep referring to Chris in present tense? It's weird, right?
Next, Suzie told the Myrtle Beach police about Chris Skinner's morning on September 6, 2021.
on September 6, 2021.
So that morning, the night before, he had forgotten to take his medications at night
and I had forgotten to give it to him.
So he stayed up all night.
He was awake all night long.
So when he got up in the morning,
I gave him his normal medications
that he always has in the morning.
And then he went for a walk to walk the dog,
which is what he does every single morning.
Probably at least one day a week on that walk, he usually starts to kind of fall asleep or
he just is tired and he'll, you know, ride like this and drive.
And we used to, he used to joke around and say like, um, don't ever let me drive off
the sidewalk or don't let me, you know, whatever.
And we would have to like wake him up and stuff
So that morning when I get to the pool and they obviously they're doing CPR or whatever
She the detective said, you know what happened? Okay. Well, he was he was tired. He was up all night long
He finally gets the medications, which is the same medications at night as in the morning
So he finally gets those medications that he had missed
and he probably fell asleep.
He went to the same spot in the pool every single day.
If there was a person that could let him into the pool area.
If not, he went on the outside of the gate
and he would sit there and he would play on his phone
or he would rest.
That's what he did every morning after he walked the dog.
That morning, obviously a neighbor led him into the pool.
And so...
Chime out.
He'd occasionally fall asleep and you were cool
with him just zipping around the neighborhood
in his electric wheelchair?
All of this is really hard for me to understand
because I actually love my husband.
And I can't imagine a world where I would care
so little about him that
I would be cool with leaving him alone all day every day knowing that he passes out all
the time and can barely function?
Why didn't Suzie get someone else to take care of him if he was in such bad shape like
she says?
And medications?
That she had forgotten to give him
the night before his death?
This would be great information for Susie
to have shared with police in 2021.
So did the coroner do an autopsy
or at least draw blood for toxicology?
No, neither was done.
So at this part of the interview, Suzy went
wild.
I think he fell asleep or whatever. I don't know. I haven't seen the video. And that
morning when that detective's asking me those questions or whatever, I haven't seen the
video. I have no idea. So yes, that's my best guess on that day at that moment that that's
what happened to my husband.
I'm the one that lives with him. I'm the one that takes care of him.
I'm the one that was there the night before. I'm the one that got him up that morning.
I'm the one that gives him the medication!
Not these other people! I'm the one that lives with him!
Yes, I know he's sad, he's been paralyzed for 21 years. Would you not be sad?
But does that guarantee 100% that he killed himself? I have no idea. I am not a detective
and I was not in his mind that morning. That is what I told that detective and that is
exactly what I stand by today.
Okay, I am not trying to make something out of nothing here, but what is going on with
Suzy?
Why is she acting like a temper tantrum toddler in a situation so serious?
What if Micah acted like this in any of her interactions with the police?
Why does everyone close to JP Miller behave so suspiciously.
Susie is talking about her husband's death
from four years ago.
Why does she keep saying,
I am the one who gives him the medication
and talking like that, like it happened yesterday?
I think we all know the answer to that.
Not only did Micah not have JP protecting her
from being perceived as mentally ill,
he was making sure people who spoke with her
would perceive her that way.
Also, Suzy, you did not tell the detectives that
on the day that your husband died.
You specifically told the police
that your husband was not suicidal.
You seemed to want to make that point.
Again, why is that? Then in the interview,
this happened.
What? What do you think? This is just hypotheses. Here, why do you think this would come to
light in 2025? Several years later, like what has what do you think has changed?
Nothing has changed. So why are they bringing it to our attention now?
Because there's a bunch of YouTubers that are talking about other topics that have
killed himself. My sister-in-law was mad at me
because she came to me like the next day or whatever
and I said well, I don't't know obviously I don't know if he
did or not. Ah yes, I've been to YouTubers. She wishes it was that easy to dismiss. But also,
girl, the only reason people know who you are is because of your gross boyfriend in his ungodly acts that led us to foia
for all of your husband's case file
that included a video that contradicted the story
that you apparently wanted people to know.
This should have been a did you lie to police interview,
but Myrtle Beach police
apparently did not understand the assignment.
The officer asked Susie
if her husband ever alluded to suicidal thoughts.
He alluded to doing anything like that to you?
Yes.
Okay.
I mean how recently, from the time he passed away, was it recent that he was making comments
like that?
He made comments, I mean not specific to me, not within that week or whatever, but he would
make comments periodically, yeah.
He would say that, I mean he would talk about how hard his life was
He would talk about how it's so difficult
He doesn't know how long he can do it, but he was saying that in 2015 and he was saying that in 2017
I mean, this is not new. Yeah, it was a hard
Life and he started getting wounds that were like recurrent wounds probably started
2017 2018 somewhere in there.
And when he would get a wound, he had to be in the bed, on his side, which was extremely painful,
and for weeks at a time. And it was miserable. And so when he would have wounds and stuff,
that's when he would be like, I don't know how much longer I can do this. This is awful.
And he would even say things like, there's nothing I can't, I can't,
I can't even kill myself.
Like how ridiculous is that?
I'm so paralyzed and so handicapped that I can't even, even if I wanted to,
I couldn't do it.
So yeah, he'd make it off and on.
Yeah.
But did he do it that day?
I don't know.
Yeah, sure.
You weren't with him.
No.
And he didn't say it the day before. Yeah. You weren't with him.
No!
And he didn't say it the day before to me.
He didn't say anything to me the day before.
The day before, he spent the day, he taught my daughter how to serve a volleyball because
she was joining the volleyball team.
Watched football.
I mean, it was a normal day."
A normal day, but nothing sounds normal about this.
You know what else isn't normal? What JP's ex-wife said in her affidavit, that JP and Susie were allegedly having an
affair at the time that Chris died.
How could you cheat on someone in the kind of shape that Susie herself said Chris was
in around the time of his death?
She described him as someone who could barely function and someone who was in so much pain all of the time.
Suzie tries to say what her husband did that morning
was normal, but again, nothing feels normal
about any of this.
Did he ever allude to how he would kill himself?
He talked about the only thing he could do
is drive into the pool, which he's probably right.
I can't think of any other physical way that he could do it. I mean, he would have to have
somebody help him. So yeah, he's right. That's the only way he could do it.
Is there anything that you've been wanting to talk about or get off your chest or ask?
Do you have questions for us? I mean, the floor is yours.
I think the whole thing is sad. And I wish that my husband could just
be remembered for being an amazing person.
And I don't know why we have to bring it up and try
to make him look like, again, like, what's the goal?
You want him to look like a loser?
You want him to look like he left his family?
Do you want him to, I mean, what is the goal?
Do you want to expose that he was in this horrible despair as a quad? What's the goal? Did he do it? I don't know. And
I don't care. Listen, not one other person was there. Yes, there's a video, but not one
other person was there. So can you say with 100% certainty? That's right, Suzy.
Not one other person was there.
And yet you were certain back in September 2021 that this was accidental.
Instead of saying, I don't know what happened, you told first responders he has a do not
resuscitate order that you couldn't produce.
Myrtle Beach Police Department closed its second investigation into Chris Skinner's death in March of this year
without changing their original findings,
meaning that no crime was committed here.
It's hard to understand how they could determine
that no crime was committed when the coroner's office
is still looking into this case.
The coroner's office told us this week
that it is still investigating the circumstances
of Chris's death. So what happens if they determine he died by suicide? Because
again, that is the point. If Chris's death was a suicide and Micah's death was
a suicide and both cases involved allegations of their spouses engaging in
an extramarital affair along with mistreatment or abuse leading up to their
deaths, then that should raise further questions for law enforcement officers about JP and Solid Rock.
And can we go back to Suzy's horrific phrasing about her husband's death there?
Insinuating that calling his death a suicide would make him look like a loser.
No, girl, you are the loser here because of what you admitted in this interview.
While you may or may not have been romancing with Pastor Creep Monster down the road, you
apparently let your husband live a life that would probably make everyone question whether
or not they wanted to continue their existence.
He told you that he was suicidal
and specifically said he would kill himself
by driving into the pool.
And you were just cool with him going to that pool
every morning by himself,
even when he was frequently passing out?
Why didn't you just divorce him?
What you, Susie, casually described as normal life
for your husband feels to me like cruelty."
The worst part of this interview was the end, when the Myrtle Beach police officer conducting
the interview claimed that he wasn't even sure what the point of this investigation was.
You know, the investigation HE was conducting.
Yeah, I appreciate you making time to come and talk to us.
You were the last piece of the puzzle, to be honest with you.
I mean, we've talked to a lot of people and you were the last piece.
So I don't know that, like you said, I don't know what the goal is.
I don't know.
But when it's presented to us, you know.
It's very odd.
You normally have people fighting that it's not a suicide, not fighting that it is."
Yes, police can legally lie in interviews, but his questions, over and over, backed up
this same sentiment.
They were all over the place and unaware of the point.
The point is that Chris Skinner's family does not
believe his death was properly investigated by your department, and
there is a lot of evidence to back that up. Video evidence. Direct evidence. The
point is that Chris Skinner's family members deserve to know the truth about
what happened to their loved ones.
And it is actually your job to figure that out, not YouTubers or podcasters.
But y'all have proven time and time again that you cannot be trusted to do that.
So here we are, doing what y'all get paid millions of dollars by taxpayers to do, to
use common sense, to expose the truth, to catch the bad guys.
Horry County Police and Myrtle Beach Police have both shown us that they cannot be trusted
when it comes to J.P. Miller.
But we have not lost hope in the FBI, whose active investigation was mentioned several
times in these interviews.
We cannot wait to hear what the FBI found out.
