So it is November, November 19th to be exact. And is it just me or is time accelerating to an absolutely break neck speed? It's like I wake up, I blink a few times, and then it's time to go back to bed. I mean, think of this. Just 100 years ago, only 14% of US homes had a bathtub. The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 miles per hour. Alabama, Mississippi, Iowa, and Tennessee were each more populated than California. That's kind of wild. The average wage was just 22 cents an hour, hashtag inflation. The population of Las Vegas, Nevada was 30. Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and iced tea hadn't been invented yet, and marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at corner drugstores. Fun times. According to one early pharmacist, heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind, regulates the stomach and the bowels, mind, regulates the stomach and the bowels, and is in fact a perfect guardian of health.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Yes, heroin, the ultimate panacea. That was 100 years ago. And now today, Google is building a smart city in Canada that would make Aldous Huxley proud, maybe even jealous. Dutch scientists have teleported quantum data from one electron to another, positioned about 10 feet away. And German physicists have created a Harry Potter-esque invisibility cloak that bends light to effectively disappear things. What will the next 100 years bring? That is the question. And it's hard to say, but here's something you can count on more and better products and services from yours truly. First thing I am excited about is Legion protein bars are coming in December slash January. Should be next month. Latest will be January. And that makes me very happy because although it has taken way too much work to get the exact bar that I wanted, it is finally happening. Most definitely, it is happening. As you might know, I am gearing up to release brand new and thoroughly improved third editions of my books for men and women, Bigger Leaner Stronger and Thinner Leaner, stronger, as well as the workout journals that go with them, which are the year one challenge for men and the year one challenge for women, respectively. And the manuscripts are 100% done. The print and publish ready files are being delivered this week. And the post-production of the audio books, which I recorded myself, pain in the ass, 80 plus hours sitting in a chair, but worth it. Starting point is 00:07:51 uploaded to Audible. I am just waiting for the eBooks to be done. I need to upload them together for technical reasons. And so what that means is with any luck, the digitals, the eBooks and the audiobooks should go live in the next. Well, I guess audible has their review period. I will be uploading them in the next week or two, and it might take up to three to four weeks for the new audio book files to go live because audible does have to review them, but the eBooks go up very quickly. There is no manual review process. So the new eBooks should be live on all Amazons, well, all retailers really where I'm selling, all online retailers. EBooks should go up by the end of this month. And then the hard copies,
Starting point is 00:08:39 I'm staying with the paperbacks. Although hardcovers are nice, they are quite a bit more expensive, and I'm not sure that people would even prefer a hardcover for these types of books. So the paperbacks, they will be available in January or February is what it currently looks like. So very excited, very nice. Now, quite a few people are asking about the differences between these new third editions and the current second editions. And the long story short is this. First, these new books are better organized and have been completely rewritten from scratch. And I am a much better writer now than I was a few years ago, which means that these new books are easier to follow. They are easier to understand and easier to apply. Secondly, the exercise programs themselves that go with the books have been tweaked and improved based on a ton of feedback from my readers and from coaches who work in my coaching program and clients who work
Starting point is 00:09:47 with the coaches, as well as my own ideas, my own notes that I've made over the years. So I'm very happy with the programming. I've also been kind of testing it with myself and some other guinea pigs who have volunteered, and we are very happy with the programming and the results. So I think you are going to like it. The third big difference is that some material that was interesting, but not vital in the second edition was removed and replaced with stuff that more directly addresses actual questions and concerns that people write me about. So my big, hairy, audacious goal for these new books is for them to become recognized as the absolute best fitness books for men and women on the market. And I've done my best, but ultimately you will be the judge of that.
Starting point is 00:10:45 but ultimately you will be the judge of that. If nothing else, I can say that these are the absolute best fitness books for men and women that I am currently capable of writing. I put a lot of time into these third editions and I'm very happy with the result. I'm pretty proud of it actually. I can't wait to get the books out there and to hear your honest feedback. Another kind of cool thing is one of my team members, one of the guys who works with me, Damien, not only does fantastic work here in the office, but he also plays the guitar fantastically well in a popular heavy metal band called Horrendous. And of course, then we like new flavors for our delicious high protein, low calorie protein shakes. So what we're working on is a birthday cake. That's my personal favorite.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Really, really good. We've already proved it. A salted caramel, also very good approved. A Cinnabon-esque flavor. I know we can't call it that or we will get sued. So maybe it will be called snickerdoodle would probably be a good one because that's what it tastes like. Very good approved. And hot chocolate is also a nice twist on just the regular chocolate. It tastes a bit more milky, a bit more like hot chocolate. And so those are the approved ones. And then we have two that are showing promise, but are not quite perfect yet. I do think we will get there though. And one is cereal milk. Sounds delicious and should be delicious, but is not delicious yet.
Starting point is 00:12:46 So we're working on it and banana cream pie, which also sounds pretty delicious, but is not tasting delicious yet. I do think they'll get there though. The flavor lab is very good. Those people are actually wizards because it's more of an art than a science. You can't go to school to learn it and you got to have the genetics in your palate to go to school to learn it. And you got to have the genetics in your palate to even be able to do it. Anyways, it's an interesting process to go through. So the first few, the approved ones are slated to drip, drip, drip throughout next year.
