Ladies and gentlemen, we got a Mandalorian trailer to talk about.
I'm very excited to tell you, this morning, the Mandalorian Season 2 trailer dropped.
A teaser trailer, I guess? Is it a trailer? Teaser trailer?
Whatever it is, it was awesome.
Sasha Banks makes a surprise appearance we knew
she was going to be in this season I kind of expected her to just have a small role as maybe
someone Gina Carano fights old Cara Dune but no it looks like she's going to have you know well
we don't really know from the trailer but she has a prominent role in the trailer so it makes me
think she'll have a prominent role in the season.
Who knows?
The trailer was very focused on returning baby Yoda to the Jedi.
That was sort of the narration throughout the entire thing.
We saw some shots of Tatooine got to think we're going back to find Boba
Fett in some way or another,
but it was awesome.
It was absolutely awesome.
Just seeing Baby Yoda.
We even saw some MMA, some Star Wars MMA slash boxing.
But they were in like a hexagon type thing.
So I'm going to claim it as MMA.
Fuck it.
I loved it.
Absolutely, you know, got me as excited as a trailer should get you excited
for The Mandalorian Season 2.
I was excited that we didn't see Ahsoka or Boba Fett as well.
Leave that for the show.
We know they're going to be in the season.
I wish we didn't know that, but now that we do know it,
at least just save that surprise for the show itself.
So I love that.
This show is brought to you by 3G.
I do want to remind you guys that their Delta 8 THC products are back in stock.
So if you go to their website now, that's 3chi.com, the number 3, C-H-I.com.
You can get their vapes, gummies, their tinctures, the oils that can be used to make homemade
edibles, all of that stuff.
It's USA grown hemp.
Hemp, by the way, I learned this very recently.
Hemp and cannabis are like the, or how do I put this?
Hemp and marijuana both fall under the cannabis umbrella.
Isn't that strange?
Like on the same plant, apparently you could have one nug that's like very potent in THC
and that will be cannabis or marijuana.
And then one nug that's less potent, and that's hemp.
I believe that's how it goes, which is very strange.
But anyway, Delta-8 is a federally legal version of THC, and the effects are a perfect hybrid of CBD and Delta-9-THC, which is the marijuana CBD, or marijuana THC. I'm sorry. It gives you a similar buzz and the medicinal effects of Delta
9 without all of the laziness, the anxiety, the paranoia, that mental fogginess. You don't want
any of that, but you want just the soothing effects. 3Cheese is the product for you. If you
use the promo code BASEMINUTECHECKOUT, you will receive 5% off your order. You must be 21 or older
to purchase. Again, this will get you high. This will make you fail a drug test this is the real deal stuff but i love it i will absolutely
be an advocate for this any day and i actually had an idea it was 3g fueled so on the 3g the
other night i was thinking about star wars thinking about star wars stories that i'd like
to see told and we we keep getting told this story of a Jedi that survived Order 66
running away from Inquisitors, right?
Running away from the Empire.
It's a fine story.
It's being told very well
in the Jedi Fallen Order game series.
I would like to see one that got away
and started a family and said,
I have no intention of ever being a Jedi ever again.
Maybe one that saw the corruption right before the Jedi order collapsed.
They start a family and then all of a sudden one day they come home from work
and,
and their,
their kid is dead or their wife is dead or their husband is dead,
whoever it may be.
And they're forced back into the life in a very Punisher, John Wick type way.
Now the Jedi is hunting Inquisitors.
That's what I'd like to see.
I also had a 3G-fueled idea as far as Call of Duty Warzone went,
where I said I think they should drop a T-Rex into 1 in 10 games
when the field has been eliminated down to 50%.
Just a fucking T-Rex climbs up over the mountains.
That would be awesome.
All right, let's get into this interview.
I'm going to waste no more time talking about my stupid high ideas.
This is Billy Quarantillo.
This will become a tradition for us catching up with him after these wins.
This is a blast.
Billy, thank you for the time as always. And congratulations on that awesome win.
All right. Welcome back to the show. Welcome back to my mom's basement.
It is Robbie Fox and I am joined once again by Billy Q, Billy Quarantillo.
This can become a tradition as long as he, as long as he's down.
After every UFC win he has seen, come on my mom's basement,
come in my mom's basement and talk about it.
Congratulations on that.
And also congratulations on the Bills win.
Bills mafia guy.
You got a win on Sunday too.
Yeah, yeah.
It was a great weekend for us, you know.
Great weekend.
And I'm just going to keep thinking.
So on Saturday, I was watching the fight.
And the first thing I noticed watching the fight,
as now a friend of yours, if I may say that, is he opened the fight strong.
He opened the fight with big shots, and immediately I was just flinching.
How hard did he hit compared to other opponents you've had?
Not as hard as I expected.
He was coming off that first round knockout they showed.
And I probably watched that, you know, literally right before warming up.
They showed that same highlight of him getting that brutal knockout.
They probably showed it like 10 times.
And I'm like, damn, I can't let that happen to me.
And luckily, I studied that before.
And he kept trying that big elbow over the top.
But yeah, there's that report on me that, you know, I'm a slow starter. I even saw a report that, you know, I don't have a lot of power in my hands
and I wanted to kind of clear the air with that and give something, you know, something else to
think about. So I knew right from the get-go that we were both going to try to knock each other's
head off. And, and I knew he kept trying that elbow. Luckily I kept getting out of the way of
it. And I knew whatever happened in that first round that he was going to slow down um especially with like a high pace that
I brought to him so after the first round I was like all right here we go now I can kind of wear
him down a little bit take over um and I was just very fortunate enough to land a lot of good shots
and uh get the get the huge knockout win yeah the first round was crazy just fireworks from both of
you guys did you would you say you expected him to start like that then? Or you expected at least the high pace from the start? to the jaw clean knockout shots. Um, but I knew I was going to take some shots. I'm glad I don't really have any black eyes or anything. I got a little tiny cut on my lip and like I got hit once
in the eyeballs, like an uppercut at the end of the first round. Um, it made my one eye a little
blurry, but besides that, it was, it was pretty much what we expected. You know, I weathered the
storm. And then, uh, like I said, I knew my conditioning would, would be on point. I had a
great training camp and, uh, it literally worked out like exactly how we
planned it.
Yeah. It felt like even like by the midway point in the first round,
you would weather the storm and it was turning. I mean,
you had them walking into that knee. You started landing big shots of your own.
Are you making subconscious adjustments in your own head where you're like,
all right, this is how this guy fights, kind of downloading his data,
if you will. Or is that like a very conscious thing of, Hey, I need to change this right now,
or else this guy's going to keep landing on me. Yeah, no, it was, yeah, it was of course. Um,
I don't, you know, I don't want to eat. I didn't want to eat like that big shot,
but I knew just like his style, he kind of lets you get in the pocket with him and kind
of trade with him a little bit um so I knew I was gonna get punched you know and some people like
oh man yeah you took you took a lot of punches in the first round you know it's a fist fight so
it's not always gonna be like I go out there and one punch or like you know make a mistake
yeah you wish and not that would be amazing oh of course yeah of course I would love just like
a Jorge Masvidal knee to start and not
even get touched. But yeah, I was, I was expecting kind of what we got. He was very confident going
into this fight. Every interview he said he was going to knock me out like right away. And after
a while, I'm like, I'm like, man, is this guy like delusional? Or does he really believe this?
Because I'm not easy to put away. So it uh, it, it went exactly how we thought it would.
Of course I didn't want to get punched at all, but it was, it was a fist fight. So I was just
happy to, uh, to get, to get the finish. I needed that one for, for my resume.
Did you enjoy that? He was talking a little shit in the lead up. Like I saw you were mixing it up
with the memes on your Instagram and stuff. Like, is it fun? Like getting into that world now?
Of course. Yeah, of course. It's so crazy because, um, you know,
going into fights before the UFC, it's always just like, Oh man,
like I think I match up good against this guy, but I don't know.
And then there's not really a lot of like, uh,
there's not really a lot of like media and there's not really like,
like the Vegas betting odds, but now it's like, all right,
Vegas thinks you're this much better than this guy. Uh,
he said he's going to kill you and murder you
and your whole family's going to watch.
What do you think?
And you're just like, uh.
And then the fans are like a whole nother dynamic, right?
Like the fans in your comments and his comments going back and forth.
So like all of that.
So he starts to fade.
It didn't seem like you were fading in the fight,
kind of similar to the Spike Carlisle fight.
As a fighter, where do you feel someone fading?
Is it in the clinch when you were up against the fence?
Is it on a feet?
Do you see him slowing down?
Uh,
you know,
with your eyes,
where do you see,
okay,
this guy's slowing down.
Um,
each,
each fight's different.
Um,
I think with like the spike fight,
I could feel it in,
um,
you know,
like our grappling,
like I can just tell he was like breathing heavy.
Um,
with this fight with,
um,
Kyle,
I just noticed he didn't have as much power on his punches. He didn't really snap his punches
off as much, um, about halfway through the second round, you know, I kept shooting in takedowns and
that was really all, I wasn't really too concerned with taking him down. I really just wanted to make
him work, you know, make him try to wrestle with me, make him, make him do everything, you know,
make him, make him think about those takedownedowns um but then after a few of those grappling exchanges um while we were trading with each other you know
the beginning of the fight he was snapping punches off and landing good combos and using his footwork
a little bit more um but in the second round i felt like i was the one like just dictating where
we were going and then the only thing he was really landing was a couple of counter punches
but i could feel i could really feel in his punches where i just felt i'm like there's no way he's
gonna be able to knock me out at this point because his his power went down tremendously
um and i knew if i just kept that pace if i stayed in his foot it stayed in his face the whole time
um that going into that third round no matter what happened whether i got that early knockout
in the third round um i was i was ready to take over that fight at that point.
Yeah, it looked like he was pretty much done by the end of the second.
You finished that round super strong, and then, like you said,
you come out in the third round, and it was maybe the first shot you threw.
You fake a shot, and then first shot, knockout.
Tremendous stuff, Mark Goddard with the finish.
What did you scream, and who were you screaming it to in your celebration?
You hopped on
that cage i think it was like espn was trying to censor you said fuck yeah who are you screaming
at your corner was it who was it it was it was it was actually dana it was it was such a uh surreal
feeling um and the the funny thing about that is right before the fight uh they the um the the
nevada athletic commission comes up to me they're like, they try to make jokes,
like, oh, just so you know, when you win your fight, there's no jumping on the cage, or else,
you know, we're gonna have to find you, and I, like, laughed it off, I'm like, I would never do
that, of course not, right, and you're not thinking about it, and this is, you know, 50 punches in my
face later, I get the knockout, and I snapped it off, I felt that it felt great and I instinctually just
jumped on the cage and it was crazy so it was like it was me I was here Kyle was right in front of me
and then like if you look right over the right Dana White's just standing right there in like
and you know how it is at the apex it's just like a like an awkwardly weird quiet empty building
and it's literally like it's me Dana White who like every fighter
in the world is trying to impress that guy you know what I mean so I'm like boom knock him out
look over I'm like Dana White I'm like F yeah like yelling and stuff and then um after the fight like
I went up and talked to him he was super happy with me which I'm still I can't believe I didn't
get a bonus like I thought like I know I thought you were getting that for sure.
Especially talking to him and then walking back, my brother goes, Hey man,
cause he's my brother's in my corner. He goes, Hey man, you remember you,
you're not supposed to jump on the cage. Remember? And I was like,
I didn't jump on the cage. And then like,
I've seen the highlight like a million times. I'm like, man, I hope,
I hope the Nevada athletic commission didn't, you know,
didn't pay attention to that part.
Yeah. Let's hope they're not listening to this podcast either.
I don't think they are.
No, I doubt it.
Before we get you out of here,
what has been the most surreal moment of this UFC journey so far?
You're coming up on a year.
It was December 7th, I think you said you made your debut.
Yep.
What has been the craziest part of the whole thing?
I mean, looking at Twitter the day
of your fight for me as someone that's just following you I'm like this is so cool seeing
the support that you get from John and you're seeing all of MMA Twitter like Jamal Hill who
competed with you on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series his videos cracked me up like
that for me was really cool for you but for you like what is the most surreal moment yeah um just you know I just
I guess just like um just being in the moment now and uh when I look back I think that the most
surreal moment is just how far I've come from the ultimate fighter when you know I remember
like perfectly you know it was it was five years ago 2015 it was the McGregor Faber season you know
I won my first fight and I was was like, I had so much.
I had the same confidence I have now going into that whole series.
And I just had a horrible matchup with Saul Rogers.
Ended up getting whooped on that one.
And then all that buzz, everything just got inflated.
There was people on the show, even on my own team, that were like, oh, yeah.
Saul beat the worst fighter on our team. You know, it was an easy fight for them.
Uh, and just coming from that moment where I had guys that like, weren't even in the UFC,
you know, acting like I was like, I was like the, uh, the weak link, uh, from going from that point
to, you know, coming back from an ACL surgery, then I broke, or I broke my hand that I had the
ACL surgery, um, you know, down and
out. I was 29 years old when I tore my ACL with no UFC deal. So I was really at like the bottom of,
you know, my career, like career wise, I didn't think things could get any worse from there.
And then, you know, basically just taking it fight by fight, winning, winning, winning,
winning a King of the Cage main event, getting my contender series fight, knocking that guy out, and now winning my next three UFC fights.
Just I think that stretch of how far I've come and such a low point in my career
to right now it's just the high of the high right now for me.
And I just remember what that low point feels like,
and I don't want to forget it because, you know, it could all change really quick.
So I'm just going to keep riding the wave
and keep enjoying this spotlight that I've gained.
Fuck yeah, Billy Q. I love to hear that.
I love to hear that.
What's your Bills prediction before we get you out of here for the season?
What do you think?
Bills prediction, I'm going to go, I'll say 11 wins regular season.
And I don't want to, you know, I saw so many people that were like, Oh man, this is our year.
Like this, the bills are easily going to win the division.
We're going to the Superbowl and this and that. I don't want to jinx us.
So, you know, I think we're going to have a great season.
I don't want to jinx it. I'm praying that the, and I, and I think they will,
I'm praying that Ralph Wilson stadium will open back up to the fans.
I always make it a goal to make it to at least one Bills game.
You know, Bills Mafia all day.
Those are – I'm at home when I'm there.
You know what I mean?
Those are all, like, people that are just like me.
Everyone likes to have fun.
Everyone likes to get wild.
And I'm praying that we can open back up.
And I definitely think we're going to make a strong playoff run.
And, like I said, no, I don't want to jinx us,
but I think we're going to have a really good year.
Hey, I'm praying Barstool gets the naming rights to that stadium imagine Barstool Sports Stadium
oh my god man how that would just like complete everything that'd be so cool having having you
and Portnoy and Big Cat and all those guys up there and having a big barstool that would be
amazing it'd be the perfect team for it listen I'm a Washington football team fan but Bill's
Mafia putting people through tables in the parking lot then there'd be no better team for it. Listen, I'm a Washington football team fan, but Bill's mafia putting people through tables in the parking lot,
then there'd be no better team for it.
It's a match made in heaven, man. It's got to happen.
It really is. All right, Billy Q. We'll talk to you after your next win.
Hopefully in December,
I saw you said you want to get another fight before the end of the year.
I would love for that to happen.
And I would love for you to get a bonus that time. I think it's long overdue.
Me too. You got to call your, you got to call your Uncle Dana and tell him,
Billy Q, bonus time.
You know, 0 for 3 so far.
It's not from lack of trying.
That's all I'm gunning for now.
It's time to get some bonuses.
Yeah, I'll put in a good word.
