Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a Global Player Original Podcast. Hello and welcome to the bonus episode of My Therapist Goes To Me. It is me, Joanne McNally, and it is her, Vogue Williams. Vogue. Vogue. Yeah. I and I see. That's how it works.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Hello, welcome to My Therapist Goes To Me, the bonus episode with me,anne mcnaillie and her vogue matthews oh spence would be thrilled he would be thrilled do you know what i listen i will explain my decisions okay so my actual name by the way is vogue wil So my actual name, by the way, is Vogue Wilson. My legal name currently. I wish, I honestly wish you were going to say Denise Byrne. I wish you were just going to reveal there.
Starting point is 00:00:53 My actual name is Sheila McCarthy. Okay. I took Vogue Williams as a stage name and it has stuck. Vogue Wilson. And so basically my, my born name is Vogue Williams. I changed my name by default to Vogue William,
Starting point is 00:01:05 Vogue Wilson for my stepdad. It's really difficult to do that. I'm not doing it again. And I'm, I'm not, that's, that's where we stand. Vogue,
Starting point is 00:01:13 to be honest, your name is Vogue. Like you don't even need a surname. You don't need a surname. Who cares? You're like Madonna. Oh my God. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:01:21 You don't need one. Your name's Vogue. You don't need a surname. It doesn't matter. When I'm 60, I will be like Madonna. It would be like I've been stung by a pile of bees. My face will just be so fat and like wrinkle free. I won't care.
Starting point is 00:01:33 What is going on with her? I don't know. Too much, too much. I don't know. Well, I don't know what she'd look like in real life. So you'd have to see her in real life. Sometimes, like I respect Madonna and she's iconic, et cetera, et cetera. But I wonder.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Hung Up is a great song, great track, great track. Of all her songs, you're going with Hung Up. Yeah, would be one of my favorites of hers.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Only because Jacques Leconte did a remix of it and it is a fantastic song. She was a real dick to Lady Gaga, which I don't like. I'd say. Madonna,
Starting point is 00:02:04 she was, she was super threatened by Lady Gaga and she was an asshole to her and I'm like you're always banging on about feminism and you're being a dickhead
Starting point is 00:02:10 to Lady Gaga Lady Gaga didn't sit well with me did not sit well with me no Lady Gaga's one of those people she's like an amazing actress
Starting point is 00:02:17 she's an amazing singer she like designs all her clothes she is just like she's just she's one of the, she's got like 10 people's talents in one body. Speaking of singers, right?
Starting point is 00:02:29 I know this is meant to be emails, but I have to just tell you this. Shakira. I know. I feel so bad for Shakira. The husband, well, the ex-husband who she was with like 12 years, have two kids together. He's now parading around the new girlfriend who kind of looks
Starting point is 00:02:46 like Shakira but Shakira's better looking okay it's just so like I look look I don't want
Starting point is 00:02:55 I don't like I was actually speaking to someone about this today and I was like do men cheat more do women cheat more and they're like
Starting point is 00:03:01 well the men in a hetero way like we're talking like I'm being very hetero in my description but like they have to they need women to cheat with because in my mind I'm like it's just men that cheat but actually it is women and there's some women right that literally that's their bag that's what they want to go out and do really but now yeah but now supposedly um she was his worked in his marketing team
Starting point is 00:03:27 oh all of it just stings a lot it's horrible I hope Shakira starts going out with Jason Mimosa because he's the best there is a certain thing with though like it goes both ways people who are in high profile
Starting point is 00:03:43 relationships I think are going to have people who want to kind of seduce them or whatever, because there's an extra thrill of going, I'm riding Shakira's husband. Yeah. Well, there's an extra thrill to that rather than I'm riding your man from Costa's husband. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:03:58 A hundred percent. And on that note, I'm disappointed. Okay. Not one single person comes near me. I don't get any DMS me I don't get any DMs I don't get any dick pics what have I done wrong
Starting point is 00:04:08 you married publicly that's what you did wrong if I get married I'm going to keep it on the down low fucking say it to no one so I'm still open to dick pics and seduction
Starting point is 00:04:16 there you go there you go I felt so bad for her though oh god because she's really quiet about it anyway he made a show of her he made a show of her he He made a show of her.
Starting point is 00:04:25 He humiliated her. He humiliated her. He humiliated her. Yeah, it's not fair. It's horrible. Do you know what? Especially because... This is all hearsay.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Supposedly they had a deal that they wouldn't go public with anyone for a year which I think is fair enough because you've got two kids and you've been married for such an amount of time and you just want to show
Starting point is 00:04:41 a little bit of respect and he literally just parades her around and it's like... It's so embarrassing it's like what what have we been doing for 12 they're together 12 years like what have we been doing it's actually do you not care about me it's like it's so bizarre it's so mean i think there's one thing like there's one thing having an affair it's an extra level of pain when they actually flaunt it. Yeah, flaunt it with the next person and like make a go of it with the next person.
Starting point is 00:05:09 I think it's next level. Like, yeah, I think it's horrible. If you're going to cheat on me, just like move on straight after, okay? Don't parade that girl around. Bullshit.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Anyway, will we go on to emails? On to emails. Lighter subject. Let's see Move you across there Getting very good At the old tech here
Starting point is 00:05:28 She knows how to move Her mouse now We're like oh my god She's like Raymond She's going to move The mouse now Around the thing Joanne and I
Starting point is 00:05:35 Were sitting doing stuff For the pod tour And she's like Look I've got emojis And I was like Oh my god I've got emojis Both of us
Starting point is 00:05:44 Looking at our laptops Sending each other emojis That And I was like, oh my God, I've got emojis. Both of us looking at our laptops, sending each other emojis. That won't make sense unless they have a macro probe. Well done, Mac. Well done. Okay. What are your thoughts on saying
Starting point is 00:05:53 I love you before he does? I've been going out with my boyfriend since the end of 2020 and I know I've, and I know I've been falling for quite a while now. I know. And I've been holding back
Starting point is 00:06:04 on saying it for so long now. I've asked him how he feels about me. And he said things like, I couldn't imagine being without you. And life without you would be pretty scary. But never the big, I love you. I have never said it to a man before. As generally, they've all been pricks. And deep down, I've known it.
Starting point is 00:06:18 But I've fallen hook, line, and sinker now. And last week, after doing the deed, I love you literally spilled out of me at that end. And he didn't say it back he reiterated that he couldn't be without me but it's just not the same for me yeah i had drinking he said sorry hold on he said i can't be without you but i'm not in love with you he said he couldn't be without me but she said it's just not the same for me i had drinking me and I'm scarlet but I cried at his reaction we haven't discussed it again since but it's really weighing on me is it just something he has a block on saying should I be patient or should I be rightfully mortified I have to know
Starting point is 00:06:54 not mortified never mortified never don't be mortified for yourself but I find it a little bit odd that it's two years into the relationship and he hasn't said it. Come on. I know. Okay. So here are my thoughts. One, it's,
Starting point is 00:07:12 love is something when you feel it, it's like, it's like Tourette's. You can't not say it. It just like spills out of your mouth. It's like vomit. Like it just comes out. You can't help it.
Starting point is 00:07:21 If they don't feel the same in that time, that's okay. They probably will. Like I've been in relationships where, out you can't help it if they don't feel the same in that time that's okay they probably will like i've been in relationships where so i was going out with this guy and he said it first and i was like oh shit i don't know what to do and i said i didn't say it for like two months but we went out for like a couple years so it's fine i'm sorry i think that if he hasn't said it after two years he's not gonna say it no i don't agree I know another friend of mine who this is like a bullshit story
Starting point is 00:07:46 no I'm telling you two years no I'm telling you now I'm telling you now it's not bullshit I'm the first person to piss over any romantic involvement
Starting point is 00:07:55 you know that I know a girl who was going out with a lad for three years he never said it then he said it and now they're married it's not like it's a lost cause
Starting point is 00:08:02 and she should never be morto she should be proud of the fact that she can feel her feelings access her feelings she said what she said i'm not saying she should be morto no i know i'd say he's embarrassed he can't say it back i'd say he's the one going shit why don't i feel it i say it or whatever if you've been going out with him for two years as well i'd ask him i'd ask him why he didn't say it back yeah I'd be like yeah not yeah you're like do you feel like that do you what do you don't like yeah you do not have to play it cool after two years you know somebody so I've only known she she two years right put it in that way you do not have to play it cool after two years do you know one of the most annoying things that I ever did I was in a relationship and actually I read something. You're actually so right.
Starting point is 00:08:45 I actually hard agree with you. You don't have to play a kid with someone you know in two years. You're actually totally right. Thank you, John. Thank you very much. Vote for Mare. Yeah. Bye, Sadiq, as we said last week.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Give her the keys to the city. It was one of our friends who works in that kind of love field. And she said to me, if they haven't said I love you before, after three months, they are never going to say I love you. That's what she told me. Three months? Three months. No, that's bullshit. Come on now.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Come on, come on, come on. John, should, if they're not going to express, like if you're not going to express your feelings like that. Three months? No, you don't have to say I love you after three months, but you have to like express the fact that you want to be be like like in a proper relationship about how many dates you've been on blah blah blah blah blah I am I went out with somebody right and I was with them for like six months and we never really went but like we spent all our time together we spent like four nights a week sleeping with each other in each other's house and then that's the ghosty one. And like, I'm annoyed that I never was like, oh, well, what's the crack here?
Starting point is 00:09:50 What's going on after six months? And I should have done it. So I would say you need to talk to him about it, because otherwise it will drive you up the walls. Yeah, you try to be easy breezy. And then you're like, I'm actually only just hurting myself here because I'm waiting around for something that's probably not going to necessarily happen. Exactly. But what I will say is I've been in relationships where
Starting point is 00:10:09 No, cut her off now. Cut her off Jo. His name was Dean Allen. No, but I've been in relationships where it was so full on at the start and it was like constant, like couldn't keep her hands off each other. Love you, like really high like what would you call it like just real lusty dramatic extra stuff
Starting point is 00:10:35 and they didn't last and then I've been relationships where it was it was a much slower build I think a slow roast is a healthier relationship that's what I'm going to say a slow oh yeah but like two years is like you've scalded the shit out of that
Starting point is 00:10:50 yeah you're right the veg is burnt yeah the veg is burnt the lamb is dry the chicken is good what's our advice what have we decided on I think she needs
Starting point is 00:11:01 to talk to him and I don't think he's going to say it if he hasn't said it after two years and I'm sorry he hasn't said it it's not the end of the to talk to him and I don't think he's going to say it if he hasn't said it after two years. And I'm sorry. He hasn't said it.
Starting point is 00:11:06 It's not the end of the world. Say to him, listen, are we on the same page? Are we not? You don't have to be in love with me, but like, is this okay? Where's the ground? I thought I would write in there with this story as a form of therapy. I went to a Paolo Nuttini gig during the week and it was unreal.
Starting point is 00:11:33 As a big fan since about 19 or 20, now 34, I felt those old feelings of desperation and devotion were turning when watching him. And coincidentally, after searching every pub in the city, we ended up at the same place. six aquilas three wines down we built up the courage to ask for a photo after some chit chat and telling me he thought i looked very pretty tonight i died he asked me what my name was and then i asked what his was yeah thought this was hilarious at the time following this pretty comment and his closeness in the photos my friend and i ran wild with these breadcrumbs and decided that he was in love with me but at bing 2 a.m and we all got cleared out
Starting point is 00:12:08 of the yeah fair fair cleared of the pub pretty quickly at 5 27 i decided to message him on instagram so we continue our courtship and wrote hi you fancy me i think we met in the pub tonight oh no i'm absolutely horrified and i have no idea where this arrogance and cockiness came from i'm usually quite a humble person no reply from paolo and my friends have tried to make me feel better by saying it would be someone else that runs his insta page is that better or worse i don't think paolo saw that i i think paolo fancies her This confidence You take that and run with it Paolo fancied you right Don't forget that
Starting point is 00:12:50 In that moment Paolo Like there's no denying Paolo fancied you in that moment There's no denying that 100% Paolo wanted to take you home And absolutely But Ride you
Starting point is 00:13:00 Yeah bang you senseless However what I will say is Famous men get so much attention like it's disgusting how much attention they get like i'd say there was a lad who like was in a circle k ad nine years ago he's still riding rings around himself off the back of it so you can only imagine the damage paolo nutini's doing i know but you remember i was telling you we're not going to name the band but you remember i was telling you the coronas no it wasn't the coronas you too yes yes um I was telling Joanne that I used to like see a guy from this band if I was like if he was in
Starting point is 00:13:33 London or if he was in Dublin and I would see him uh but yeah it's there's something about men on the stage that's kind of attractive there's something but what's attractive is power power is attractive yeah power is attractive that's why everyone's attractive is power Power is attractive Yeah Power is attractive That's why Everyone wants to bang you Because you're powerful
Starting point is 00:13:50 That's why Joe Noam Wants to bang you Anyway Paolo Wanted to bang you And that's all you need to know Okay Right
Starting point is 00:14:01 Oh yeah Take it Take it Dine out on us but don't don't ever contact him again no never obviously don't
Starting point is 00:14:09 well that's it thank you for listening that was the bonus episode of my therapist goes to me I hope that we solved all your problems don't listen to Joanne's opinion because mine is the one
Starting point is 00:14:22 that matters okay thanks bye Please don't listen to Joanne's opinion because mine is the one that matters. Okay? Thanks. Bye. Thank you.
