Hey, it's Brian Possein.
Nerd Poker.
We're calling it.
The Svald Campaign.
My friends are here.
Chris, Blaine,
Ken, engineer Sam,
and of course,
our kick-ass, DM, Dan Telfer.
Welcome to Nerd Poker.
Hey, everybody, it's Brian Prasane.
You're listening to Nerd Poker.
We're all Zooming today.
It's 82 of episode 82 of,
the fog campaign.
Ken's making the weirdest face.
Oh.
Ken's here.
Hey, pal.
It comes to town.
Chris is here.
Hi, everyone.
Hey, buddy.
Blaine is here.
Is he?
Is he really?
I thought so.
Dan is here.
Closest I've been to a spit
taking a long time.
Tabbing over to see Ken's face.
Jesus Christ.
And running the show, as always, from the cool part of town.
It's Sam, everybody.
Hello, sweet children.
Hey, pal.
Hi.
That dog wake up yet?
Yeah, he is.
He's on the top of the bed now.
Hold on.
Right there.
Hey, buddy.
Look at that.
I understand Brian Henson has now taken over the puppeteering of it's exciting.
Not the same in my opinion, but yeah.
All right. So let's get into who we have to thank.
I want to thank everyone who can listen.
Everyone who can head on over to Patreon.
And if you subscribe at those top two tiers of support,
then I get to give you a shout out and say things like,
thank you, come.
Thanks, come, C-U-M.
Thank you, Harold of, I know, if I lean into it, maybe it'll be funny.
Why?
Thank you.
Harold of Kelmar goes to Amalegda Castle.
Thank you.
No Such Thing as a Fish person.
That sounds a lot like the podcast,
No Such Thing as a Fish.
Which is a reference.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you, Merlin from Static Factory.
Thank you,
Declines.
Thank you.
My last Patreon name made Brian laugh.
Now I can die happy.
You have to fit that in, too.
This one made me laugh, too.
There you go.
And this time you got Ken.
Thank you, Donkey Oto.
Thank you, Ragnor.
Thank you, Billy pitching the Ding Dong Dangler's animated series to Amazon in a trench coat.
Why the trench coat, I wonder.
Why don't you ask Billy?
Billy, why the trench coat?
Well, it's quite obvious.
I'm actually a Jim receive a raccoon.
Three Jimpses.
I love the idea.
He opens his, you guys see the naked gun remake where he turns, pulls his mask off and he's just suddenly not a little girl anymore.
All right.
What if there are three Jimethys as the surprise characters in Avengers Doomsday?
Three Jimethees show up.
Robert Johnny Jr. is playing all three of them.
Oh, Rocket Raccoon would be very upset.
Can you guys hear me okay?
Hello?
Yeah.
Hello, can you hear me?
Okay.
I did like three riffs that were out of sync, so I think my internet was unstable.
Thank you, She Blaine on my capatch until I pre-haw.
What?
Thank you, Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving.
And thank you, finally, Sleepy Mario Speedwagon.
Sleepy Mario Speed wagon.
Oh, yeah.
That's such an upbeat song goes on you.
Hey, Blaine, who were those supporters brought to us by?
As far as brought to us by, starving grad students movers.
We're older.
We understand why Janet left and you had to move to a smaller place.
Starving grad students get it?
Get you and get your stuff.
We move it out, we talk it out, we hug it out.
We have a beer on that old couch you bought together.
Starving grad students.
Also, we need the money.
Dan?
Thanks, Blaine.
Wow.
Last time we left, nerd poker.
You guys were engaged with Caius at a courtyard in the northwest edge of Delsmith.
This courtyard is between mansions and an abandoned neighborhood because all the rich folk have run from town.
fog in the fog campaign has rolled in and scared a lot of folks off.
You guys reinstalled the fish as mayor after I believe you blew up the last mayor.
And you've tied up a lot of pretty bows on this campaign by killing everyone who started this mess,
but still a worm god was summoned here.
And you've got him on the ropes a bit.
We last left after Chris's turn heading on in to Ken's turn.
Ken, Caius is upon you in the southwest corner.
you've been down a couple of times in a row.
It happens.
I'm going to cast.
I had it a minute ago.
I don't remember.
Oh, yeah.
Kato.
No.
No, I take it back.
Cromatic orb again.
Okay.
That's a spell attack.
Try to botch if you can.
Oh, motherfucker.
You didn't botched, did you?
No.
I got a two.
Plus eight is ten.
Oh.
I'm not looking at the screen anymore.
Okay.
Well, praise Bahamit for no botch.
Not a botch.
Playing, were you about to say something?
No, I just said, not a botch.
Ken, would you like to do anything else with your turn?
I assume you're going to use half your movement to stand up.
I'm going to look out the window and cry.
Oh.
Bensturalty music plays.
Ken, now you're not role-playing.
You're real playing.
Never let it get into your real life, man.
Okay, so that's going to take us to Bill Peepers.
Little Peepers.
He fails his second deathing.
Oh, shit.
Oh, don't like it.
Uh-oh.
And that's going to take us to Caius, who is going to swat it Brian.
What's he doing to me?
So let's see.
He is reaching back, and this is a what to hit, plus 15 to hit.
Jesus.
Does you even need to roll?
Yeah, what if he gets it what?
Yeah, there's that.
19 to hit, Brian.
What's your AC?
That would probably be a hit.
Okay.
You never know with these kids.
Sometimes they got real nice little ACs.
So, that's going to be 23 points of piercing damage.
Brian.
Oof.
Okay.
Brian, I think you can take your
feet, like a thief thing
where you can mitigate that damage?
Yeah.
That sounds right.
Uncanny.
Yeah.
I'm looking under your reactions.
You may have the old uncanny dodge.
Yes, you do.
So you can have this damage, Brian.
You can have this.
And actually take 11 points of damage instead of 23.
Cool.
And it's your turn, Brian.
Oh,
um,
Kias is looming over you.
Oh, wait.
Dan,
I'd like to remind you.
Weren't you got?
All the poison clouds.
You were going to make me invisible.
Yeah,
he was invisible.
So he,
he did not do that.
He did that.
To you, Chris.
To who?
He's going to go north a little bit and take a swing at Chris.
Great.
And, uh,
and, uh,
So I'll re-roll that
But now, Dan, because we are starting with him in that cloud
He is also going to have to do a con save, yes
Yeah, because listeners, this guy's so big
Even though he has kind of moved from the south side
Now towards the sort of
North side, he's still
Encompassed by Cloud, part of him.
Just different parts.
And he did make his con save, but now he is,
he still has to roll,
he's supposed to take half damage.
Sweet.
So he's going to take 10 points of poison damage.
Yeah, he's starting to wobble.
He's looking pretty rough.
I haven't really mentioned that yet this episode,
but he is on the ropes, it looks like.
I would like you do that.
Oh, yeah.
He would like to not do that.
Well, we'll see what happens.
29 to hit Chris
That'll hit Dan
Okay
Oh it's good Dan
Oh no
It'd be great if one episode
You guys are just like
We've all had enough Dan
We're going to start attacking you through the screen
25 points
Of your say Chris
25
And I have to make a concentration
Check
Okay
Okay
Because on greater and Viz
All right
So what is the DC?
So there was 25.
How do you figure out what the DC is for this, Dan?
Yeah, let me check.
I think it's whatever it is over 10,
hit points of damage.
Meanwhile, whatever it is, I can roll my concentration track.
So you roll a D20, add your constitution saving through a modifier.
Right.
And I think that's it.
No, I know that, but I'm saying what DC am I trying to hit?
24.
I mean, yeah, you make it for sure.
Okay, and I think because I'm a warcaster, I get a montage.
So I don't think I'll do better than that, but 24.
The DC is either half the damage taken or 10, whichever is higher.
Got it.
So 25 half.
Okay, yeah, great.
Why that one's so hard to find.
Like, of all the calculations they put on your sheet, that one is not over.
Chris.
That one, that's like, you just have to memorize that.
You're about to say something else.
I'm lagging.
All right.
So.
All good.
I have taken my damage.
That thing hit me.
Hello.
Uh-oh.
I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, you hear me?
Yes.
Delated, delayedly.
Okay.
Okay.
Uh, you seem to be back for me as well.
The worst part of the delay is, uh, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's definitely,
on my end, but you guys, to you
I'm frozen, to me, I'm watching all of you go.
What happened to Dan? Where's Dan?
What's going on?
It's like being
a Tales from a Croft episode.
Yeah, it is. I'm in the black
hole. Yike. Okay, so
that was his turn, and I believe
Brian is up.
I'm
invisible, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, I maintain concentration.
Okay, I know I'm going to think about...
Yeah, I'm...
Okay.
I'm gonna go short-sorted.
Nice.
All right.
Remember, you get to add sneak attack damage.
Yeah.
Hands on.
And I believe you attack with advantage because you're invisible.
Is that right?
Dan?
That's right.
What did that come?
I didn't see it.
It disappeared.
I'm checking.
Yeah, same. I'm looking in the game log.
You rolled one, so you got a nine. You got a second roll.
Yeah, I rolled a second term.
It was an 11, unfortunately.
Rolled a 3 plus 8. But better than the botch.
Yep.
Oh, shit. Okay.
Greater invisibility just saved you from a botch.
Great.
Fuck.
Moving on then, I guess.
Is there anything I can do?
No.
I mean, if you look at the bonus actions,
Little Peepers is about to die.
You could use, like a dash or something.
Yeah, you could find somebody?
All right.
Could you pour a potion in his mouth?
Yeah, you want to pour a potion in the mouth?
You got a potion?
I don't know.
You have one, you have two potions of healing.
Okay.
Yeah, I'll do that.
Is that in the group inventory?
It's in his inventory.
Chris.
I'm scrolling through Spicoli's inventory.
He has two separate entries of a potion of healing.
I see it.
Brian, can you roll 2D4 plus two?
What?
2D4 plus two.
You're healing, your friend.
Okay.
You're saving his life.
Sexual healing.
Unfortunately, that is how the potion works.
Let's make love tonight.
Here, put this in your hair.
I don't know.
I want you.
What was the number on that?
What was the number on the, on the potion?
Six.
Is that what it is?
2D.
Yeah, it's a six, I see it.
And then plus two, so a 12 of eight.
Great.
So he blinks awake again.
He was not looking good.
He was at two death fails.
So you save him from the break, Brian.
There was something.
else you could do with your turn.
And that'll bring us to Blaine.
Playing a way the hell in the other corner.
Yeah, I'm just moving around,
running, running, running.
I'm going to come up there, and I'm going to firebolt.
Great.
Fireboat.
14 plus 6 is 20.
Oh, so close.
He has an AC at 21.
Fuck you.
And some of your kios.
I didn't mean that.
I did mean the kiosk, though.
Okay, I'm just going to keep running as much as I can't, but that's my thing.
Just like a Kia.
You mean the Swedish furniture store or the Korean electric cars?
I meant the electric cars.
Did you just drag your token off the map?
Did I?
I think you did.
Blaine, you have godlike powers in this universe.
I know. I mentioned door it out of here.
Could I guess so far as to say, Blaine, you're a little bit of a lawnmower, man.
Yeah.
Can you hit undo? Can you hit Command Z on your keyboard?
Yeah, it's not.
It's not coming back.
All right. I got to.
Yeah, sorry.
I kind of went up around, up and around.
I think you just let go of it while you were off-mapped, and so it's like, you know, they're not there.
Cut to Siam Spade appearing in a five guys in Burbank.
Is he in scale with everyone here?
Is he the same side?
Like a humanoid?
Yes.
Yes. It's like in the Dungeons and Dragons, Hunter Month Eve's movie.
Oh, fun.
They have to pull my baby out of a fish mouth.
That's a beautiful scene. I really enjoyed that movie.
It's great. It is. It's really fun.
Somebody, and I more than one person has said, if they made one of those every year, they would be making so much fucking money off.
Yeah. Are they making a sequel or not? Did it fall through?
It didn't make money at the box office.
It's funny you guys are talking about it.
The story came out, I think, at the end of Comic-Con.
One of the writers has said, like, we've already written, like, the sequel is ready to go.
They just aren't going.
Duh.
You know, because there's some algorithm going, well.
Apparently there's a D&D TV show.
Oh, there I am.
Okay, cool.
That there, that somebody's work.
Well, my guess, you know, they're just clear in the way.
They're like, if we make a sequel,
all of a sudden it's the Robert Pattinson and the Batman
is now holding up DC from making their, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
And so, yeah, so they have to be kind of like,
oh, we really do want to make D&D stuff.
And they must be psyched on their series.
They're making Baldur's Gay 3 TV show.
Ooh.
Yeah.
I'm glad
I'm glad Master of the Universe
is getting a little love now.
Oh yeah?
Now that it's on streaming.
I watch most of it
with my wife and daughter.
We have fun.
It's super fun.
Yeah.
It's like Flash Gordon.
Oh, it's not bad?
No, it's not bad.
No, it's, I mean, no.
It's not great.
Oh, it's bad.
The humor is okay.
Well, well, back up.
Mandalorian streaming now,
so I'm going to watch it this week.
Oh, it is?
It's fun.
Blaine, we've lost her.
token, but your token is also backed.
So can you put your, can you put your token?
You said you were just running, but can you make sure your token's
where you want? I think you may have already.
Yeah, I think that's kind of where I am.
I might be over the edge of the balcony,
but there's the screen
of the map is right
there, and the last time I tried to move it up
there, that's when I lost my token.
Yeah, yeah. Unfortunately, there's not geography
beyond there, but we can say
that because you're kind of like on a window there,
you're actually on the roof above the window.
Can I be hanging over the
Bannister like I'm cheating on my wife on a business trip.
Huh.
Just like a hotel, hotel courtyard.
Huge red lipstick, a kiss on your cheek.
There's a maid at the Marriott looking up, rubbing her eyes.
A cat.
Velma Redder.
Driving a car?
Oh, you're up.
Blame it.
Me?
I'm going.
two. Okay, so they're all
alive.
I really wish there was some
other great attack I had
to mix up the
you know what I'll do? Oh, fire
a ray of frost.
Whoa.
Yeah. No firebolt for me.
How about a 16?
What a lot.
Fudd.
And then...
Yeah, unfortunately that's not going to do it.
I will
give out my
final
bardic
inspiration
the last one to give
I will give it to
I'm going to give it to
Spicoli
because he is
invisible
nice
and that's
you know what
and just for movement's sake
yeah because he did come up towards me
actually
yeah I'll stay where I am
All right.
Well, I hope you can hear me okay.
I had to switch off my computer again.
Up next, and the turn order is going to be Ken.
Once again, I'm going to cast a Crematic orb.
You got this, buddy.
Let's see what happens.
That's a 13.
Oh, well, that's 12 higher than it could have been.
Sure.
Now, when you say 13, you're not...
So broken.
My spell.
I know.
I know, but I just, I had to check the game log and make sure you weren't, you know,
obfuscating a one plus 12.
But no, you've not tried to fool me.
Hooray.
I'm glad I don't have to kill you again yet.
All right.
So is that your turn?
I mean, anybody, nobody's down, right?
Everybody's up.
No one's down.
You've got movement.
You do.
And a bonus action.
I don't know what you can do, but.
Let me see when I...
Yeah.
I think...
You do have movement because...
Yeah.
Drink one of your own potions?
If you have one, I'm not a bad idea.
I don't know if you have any.
Let me see.
But Ken, yeah, Brian is the one who's actually in melee range.
You are able to move without getting an opportunity attack.
You can go into the corner.
Yes, I have a healing potion.
Now...
I will quaff it.
Thank you for saying cloth.
That is 2D4 plus 2.
Here we go.
2D4 plus 2.
2D.
That's a 6 total.
Hey!
I am healing myself for 6 points.
Great.
Then up next, B. Lil Peepers.
He's going to haul his own
ass off the ground
and scoot down
to the corner
before popping off
an arrow.
28 to hit.
Nice.
So that is going to do
nine points of piercing damage.
Rips right through
the avatar of Caius.
Boy oh boy, you guys have had him on the ropes
for a minute. He's not down yet, but
it's getting close.
Yes.
Did you say that the thing's in melee with Brian?
And you.
Yeah, both of you because he's so big.
I think because it's in melee,
then you would get to add the sneak attack damage.
I think that's a quality of sneak attack is that
if the thing is in melee with another opponent
or if you have advantage.
I think those are the things that can trigger.
sneak attacks.
Cool.
I'm just double-checking that.
Yeah, please.
Okay.
Oh, yeah, no, I'm, you know.
Yeah, yeah, you're absolutely right.
I forgot about that rule completely.
I always thought of it as like it was only
flanking, but no.
That's absolutely right.
That's why it's in my head.
It's like, oh, it's one of those weird ones.
It's like the thing we were talking about before
with a concentration.
Still not going to kill him,
but instead of nine points of piercing damage,
It's going to be 21 points of piercing damage.
Hmm.
Woo!
Yeah.
So he just has this thing
rip right through his center
and where his ribs would be
in the humanoid shape
that is rising from the pillar of worms.
You just see like this big chunk fly out
and splatter on the ground.
A bunch of worms going motionless.
And that will end it
for little peepers' turn.
He is now going to have to roll
a conseil for the poison.
gas that he is still standing in.
Mondays, am I right?
It's actually Tuesday.
This break brought to you by Crumb.
It's a tiny version of what you ate.
On your shirt, in your lap, on a car seat, on the couch, in your bed.
Nothing reminds you of lunch like crumbs.
Crumbs.
All right, so he's going to take six points, poison damage.
He did make his...
save and then he is going to
swat. I think he's going to
see little Peepers going to corner in since he's
the last one to hit him, he's going to swat Little Peepers.
Which Little Peepers has taken a real beating.
Yeah. For the home listener, Connance has now moved
completely into the southwest corner.
Oh, and I...
Do you know what that means, Chris?
he's still in the cloud
he's still in the cloud
he's also about to roll to hit little peepers
but first do you know what happens
oh god
he just left melee with you
so he did an opportunity attack
I would love it thank you Dan
thank you
I have
do you say TMAT shows up
I was like what the fuck's what's what's
what's what happened
I rolled a 3 plus 8
It's going to be an 11.
Swish with my dagger.
Yeah, that will miss, unfortunately.
And he's going to hit Lil Peeper's with a 29.
Damn.
He's going to take 24 points of piercing damage and Little Peepers is down again.
It's getting close.
All right.
Brian, you're up.
You remain greater invisibility.
Okay.
All right.
Well, I'm going to do an advantage attack.
and hopefully not
Bachi boo this time
or get a fucking 7
or whatever the other
lame one was
short,
come on big numbers
come on big dice
big money, big money.
No.
All right, all right, 13, 13.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Oh, you have Bartick inspiration.
Yeah, you can add, wait,
if you add it to the 13,
if you get an 8,
you get a 21.
Do you want to spend it now?
Yeah.
You have to get an 8th.
Do I roll a D8 or what do I roll it?
It would be a roll it.
Yeah.
You can spend it now or put the rest of that account.
Yeah.
Ceramic Dalmatian.
Mm-hmm.
Eight.
Holy shit.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
You got it, Brian.
That's fucking sweet.
Holy shit.
One and eight out of that happening.
Ah, that's amazing.
Excellent.
All right.
I'll take it.
Kevin.
And now you get to take sneak attack damage also, Brian.
Okay, so that is, well, I've rolled my damage yet.
Oh.
I know.
Short-term damage is 10, and then sneak attack is, say again,
familiarize me again, remind me.
5D6.
5D6.
I like that.
Wow.
that's pretty crazy
it's like
chromatic orb damage
if I'm working
it can make it work
it's like
it's like the damage
Ken does do himself
uh
it wasn't that high
was it 13
is that what it came out to
it was low
low numbers
I well
that's still something
yeah
Brian how would you like to see
the avatar of Caius die
no way
just a list of death
holy shit
he had 12 hit points left when you got that 13
wow
well he's a tower of worms right
sure is or was
so so I kind of jenga
the middle of him
I cut a big spot a spot of the middle of him
and then it just all kind of collapses
and he falls like a janga tower
awesome
what to kids cheer
Yeah
Changa
Oh my gosh
He's going
Just absolutely
Chris flat
There's just worm guts everywhere
You guys
Head on over to Lil Peepers
Get him bound
All of you are pretty beat up
But as you
finish
You see the fog
Also start to dissipate
around the edges of this courtyard.
We did it.
Does that include that green thing,
the cloud that was killing the repo too?
Great.
Yeah.
So everything starts to recede.
We got some money from the pirate ship.
My parents come.
Everybody's happy.
Everyone gets a hug.
We lift data up.
Sloth cheers for you guys
C3BO and R2 are all shiny and clean
The Ewok start playing drums on the empty Stormtrooper helmets
Chewy looks like
He's written by Toto
Chewy looks like somebody brushed him
Yeah
Do you remember that?
He finally gets nice
He looks rushed
He looks like he went to a groomer
He got his claws
No, Endor has blow dryer.
It takes about two.
He just got a lion cut for the summer.
He got in Barkbus for like an hour or two.
Not to be confused with Bangbuss.
It's a whole other thing.
Oh, Bangbuss.
We were all thinking Bangbuss, though.
No, they're actually Barkbus shout out that suit as Willie.
they pull up in a truck in our yard and Willie gets in and
and they fucking dog three hours later she comes out of
I've heard of that yeah it's cool
how dare you blame
I've heard of not what Blaine said not what Blaine's heard of the
yeah short film would you like somebody to joke about
fucking your cats Blaine
I'm gonna fuck your cat
back up and think about what you just ask Blaine
right
My cats are underage.
That's just weird.
Gross.
Well, we did it.
Holy shit.
Yes.
Nice.
Thanks to me.
Four cans of jelly.
Good fellow.
Oh, he's dead.
So we hop off the roof and like go down to like wherever.
Is there any stuff down here?
Is it just.
Is there riches?
Yeah, yeah.
It is caius guts.
However, although you don't, yeah, you don't immediately see anything, but Little Peepers does
have a crime boner in his eyes.
Oh.
And he can do that on his own time.
Yeah, on the Bart Bus.
His mother doesn't let him.
He says, well, do you remember the workshop that was full of,
worms that we thought was full of loot on the first floor, but the first floor was full of loot
and worms and we didn't want to touch the worms.
That's right.
Oh.
I bet there is a lute-a-palooza on the first floor of that workshop right now.
Yeah, and we should probably go there immediately just because, you know, the town,
city's under new management, so they're going to problem.
Yeah, let's get it before.
Let's get.
Yeah, let's get what the getting is good.
Excellent.
So you guys are going ahead.
It's just a few blocks away.
This is the workshop of the gnome who sent the giant mech and you killed him in the mansion.
Yes.
On hindsight, maybe we overreacted.
Never.
I don't know, though.
So the doors are locked, but someone wants to throw a little slight a hand check.
We'll pop that open.
Sure.
Bibi
19 plus 4
23
Nice
Pop
So yeah
That instantly pops
You guys had inside in there
There's just worm guts all over the place
This place is so nasty
And full of just like
Recently pop worms
It looks like it was a pretty disgusting mess
Anywhere that these guys were
You remember there's a Stone Mason's Guild
on the south side of town
that is probably in a similar state of disgustingness.
So, you know, as you start to walk around,
you realize there are drawers,
there are all kinds of little areas you can check.
So let's get an investigation check from everybody.
All righty.
Nice.
Can I give people guidance on this?
You absolutely can.
There's enough buildup here where you would have been approached the building and be like,
oh boy, we better loot the shit out of this.
So there's a D4 for people if they want it for the next minute.
Well, I rolled a three plus an 11.
So that's 14.
Five plus one, six.
We got a 19.
Another D4 you said?
If you want, yeah.
Why not?
Oh, there's a four.
Nice.
17.
I also tried to search.
and did not do it.
Where did you get, Chris?
Like, I think, an 11 total.
Okay.
Well, with an 11 total, you're going to find 10 gold.
Hey?
That is it.
You guys were rich.
What did you get?
10?
Six.
Okay, you're going to find five gold.
Hey.
I'm trying to see if I.
Blaine.
Detecting spells or anything.
Okay.
Well, I'll let you start thinking about that one.
Blaine, what did you get?
I got a 17.
All right.
So you are going to find a jewelry box.
And you knock this old wormgut smeared painting off the wall
and find there is a safe built into the wall.
Oh, yeah.
Chris, what did you get?
I got 10 gold.
You gave me.
For Brian, what did Brian get?
11. All right, so that's going to be another...
19.
Oh, 19. Okay.
Yeah.
How about I throw up and detect magic?
Yeah, buddy.
We'll get to you in a second, boss.
First of all, we've got to honor what Brian rolled.
Brian, you're going to find a little workshop kind of alcove in the back.
There's a curtain, and when you open it, there are what appears to be a magic pair of
gloves and a hammer that are used for tinkering.
Ooh.
Aida, a taker.
Fidl about.
So you would probably want to grab those.
And let's talk about the detect magic.
So you're going to see the jewelry box has a magic aura or two inside of it.
There's a couple of little floating ores in there.
And the safe also is going to have...
Nice.
Glowing magic horrors, the hammer, the gloves.
These are all magic items.
And the interiors are straight up.
Colors?
In addition, there's something underneath the, I mean, these are all enchantment oras.
There's not a lot of variety in item oras unless they're trapped.
And right now you're not seeing any.
But I did want to mention that underneath the floorboards, there is some other sort of aura.
Sweet.
Cry that shit up.
So you're prying that shit up.
So you're prying that shit up.
Brian, you have discovered a hammer of runic focus.
Neat.
Yeah, what just add to you?
Hammer has three charges.
As the bonus action, you can expend one charge and slam this hammer on the ground,
creating a 15-foot radius of glowing runes.
While you're inside that area, your hammer glows with matching runes in your,
get a plus three bonus to attack.
Holy shit.
A plus three weapon is like
crazy.
So I'm going to put this
it's a hammer of runic focus.
R you and I see it is in D&D
beyond. Cool.
We need like a
Discord where I can put links that you guys can
regularly refer to.
And then the gloves
These are going to be gloves of thievery.
These gloves are invisible while worn.
While wearing them, you get a plus five bonus to slight of hand checks.
Oh, my God.
Hammer of Runic, what?
Focus.
No, I'm not yelling at you.
It's Hammer of Runic focus.
I understand.
I'm trying to focus.
But just say what it is again.
Brian, come on.
Say the word again.
I'm trying to focus.
The fever was close
How many?
Gloves of what?
Thevery.
Were those mine?
They are now.
You just found them, yeah, with the hammer, yeah, if you want them.
Maybe, like, Blaine could take them on the weekends or something.
What'd you say it was a plus five?
Do I really need them with whatever I have?
It makes you a super thief.
Okay.
You would potentially be a super thief.
Okay.
And also, a sleight of hand isn't.
I mean, if it's plus five truly does sleight of hand,
slight of hand is all kinds of stuff.
We're not retiring these guys after this adventure.
Well, we'll get to that in a moment.
First, let's talk about the ripped up floorboards.
Yeah, baby.
And you know what?
Sam has got a hard out.
So why don't we finish this Lutapalooza on our next session of nerd poker?
Yay!
We won D&D.
We did it.
Good job, guys.
Nice job.
That was a
jewelry box to go over.
Yeah, yeah.
I'll throw you the thing of like
I had the idea that you guys could
maybe have different
characters or
use loot one or the other
from this session
in the next session.
Okay.
The next campaign.
So like we were going to do a caves
campaign.
And I was going to let you guys
be there a character
who is in
or bought some of the equipment or the same character.
Well, I feel like if we haven't died, I mean, I would love to play, you know, Spicoli again.
And now he's like fucking crazy leveling up.
I'm going to buy some bad guys for this guy.
I'd like to stick with my guy, but we can talk about that soon.
Yeah, yeah.
Let's, uh, what do you got to plug?
Uh, check out darkest whimsy.com.
Blake, what you got?
Do you got anything, Blaine?
August 25th at Scribble in Highland Park doing some stand-up.
And August 2nd, I will be on the Dr. Z. Live, a dynasty typewriter,
with Paul Williams, E.D. Patterson, and Haley Joel Osment.
Yeah.
That is amazing. That is stacked.
I see funny people.
That's going to be a good one.
Come by.
Paul Williams is a goddamn bona fide legend.
That is cool as shit.
I can't believe I didn't mention this last week,
but my show is finally on.
On HBO Max,
Stewart fails to save the universe,
and it'll be, well,
next week is our third episode,
this week's second one coming up this Thursday,
and then our third episode will air Thursday,
the third or fourth, whatever it is.
Anyway, I'm super excited.
It did really well at Comic-Con.
We showed an episode in the first episode
people really liked it,
and I won't do any spoilers,
but there's some cool, like, Easter eggs
coming up in these episodes,
and I had a blast, and I want to do more,
so please watch.
That is how it goes.
Retention is super important,
as they say, that we have people watch the second and third episodes.
And then I'm got the San Jose Galaxy Con at the end of August.
And then I've got some mostly one-nighters, a bunch of one-nighters coming up in September and October and November and December.
So Brianpossain.com.
Blaine.
We attribute the success saved mankind for joining us on this episode.
