Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back to another episode of New Heights. I am not Jason or Travis Kelsey. This is Brandon. My friend here is Jake. Jake is that you? Hi. Still here. Still here. Still no baby.
Starting point is 00:00:12 Jake is still here. Still no baby. We are on Baby Watch. And in the meantime, we are back with another episode. Counting down our favorite 92 moments from New Heights in the past four seasons. Let's just get right into it. Let's get right into it. Jake.
Starting point is 00:00:27 What do we got? Kick us off. kicking off this one, one of the more memed moments of the show's history. This is from this past season as well. Very fresh. Fresh moment. Fresh break. The guys were talking about Jennings Dunker and I'll let the clip roll from here.
Starting point is 00:00:46 If you were going to design an offensive alignment in a laboratory, this is what he would look like. I mean, look at this guy. This is hilarious. How many beers a day do you think this guy drinks? I don't know. He's probably by the case. He doesn't even count it. this used to give me an idea though they i don't think they should you know how they do best in show
Starting point is 00:01:04 for like dogs where they like trot them out they do it for only horses too oh shit are you all right true we're good you you're good fuck fuck Taylor's gonna kill me the best in show got me best show got me best show for the dogs like they're I'd say how to let you would be. Yeah. I'll say this. I'll say this. Travis Breaking the chair was one of the most debated.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Where do we rank this clips of any? There was contention. There was a lot of contention around where this goes. Some people even said this is the number one. I got a number one request for this one. I don't agree. But I'm sure people listening to this are probably mad at us. We did not rank this higher than 39.
Starting point is 00:02:05 I will say it probably gets docked a little bit because we're doing this in an audio-only format. Travis breaking the chair is much more of a visual moment, but it was still incredible and needed to be included on the list. Man, it might be in my top things I've laughed at during recording. Anybody who thinks this was planned or scripted, get the fuck out of my face. This was so funny. We have not gotten an invoice for that. chair, so hopefully everything's okay. I think maybe he put it back together.
Starting point is 00:02:36 He's pretty handy. Yeah, apologies to that living room set. Moving on the number 38 is a moment from our episode after our second live show in Cincinnati when we had to discuss Jason losing his Super Bowl ring in a pool, a kiddie pool of chili. There was an unfortunateness. As you guys know, this game existed because I continually lose my Super Bowl ring. And I don't even know if Travis still knows this. But I legitimately lost my Super Bowl ring in this event.
Starting point is 00:03:06 They could not find it. This is Jets Jake. Searching through the chili to try and find the sock that had my Super Bowl ring in it. We have still yet to find it. What did you expect to happen? I thought that we would just go in the pool and get the ring afterwards. You're such a fucking imbecile. Greg got a metal detector.
Starting point is 00:03:24 There's actually metal in Skyline chili. There's traces of iron within the chili itself. So it's an impossible task to try and use a metal detector. That's so good. There's probably lead as well in there at some points. It's just a hunk of metal. I'll just have another one made, I think. They can do that, right?
Starting point is 00:03:41 I don't know, Jason, probably. I guess we're going to find out. This is the most shame I've ever felt working on. Do you know why you feel shame? Because it's entirely your fault. Yeah. It is almost 100% your fault. No, I'm telling this part.
Starting point is 00:03:55 I'm still, I am still mad about it. Jason wanted to put the ring in there. I said, don't do that. the record, I said no. That's dumb. And about an hour later, little Jets Jake here comes skipping around the corner of the Cincinnati arena going, Jason just put the thing in the chili. It's so funny. And I went, you motherfucker, he went to you. He went to you to get a yes. And what did you do? What happened? So there are two reasons why this is my fault. Number one and the biggest one is that after it happened, Jason goes, Jake, get that ring for me. And I just did not.
Starting point is 00:04:32 hear him, Adrian like pulled up that footage and played it for me. It was just like, oh, no, this is my fault. The other thing, and this is a bit of shared blame, but like the fact that we were like, oh, we're going to use two pools and one will have a fake ring and one will have the real ring when we could have just put them both in the same fucking pool looking for the one. You didn't have to put other rings. You could just have one ring in a sock in one of the pools. The effect of being covered in chili would have been fine. We didn't. need. Yes. Not our best gameplay moments. Can you hear that I'm still mad about this? We had to change our flights to come home later so we could dig into a goddamn pool of chili for an hour.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Oh, wait. I don't know if we told this on air, but I threw up a lot. I think we did. The smell of the chili that had been sitting in the arena. I'm going to do it again now. For 12 hours was rancid. And it's entirely that man's fault. You're bringing back their memories. This is, yeah, let's move on. Next clip. Next clip. We don't need to rehab. All right.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Next one. Next clip coming from us from season one, a great family moment. This is Mama Kelsey roasting Travis. How disappointed were you when Travis was announced as a boy? No, no, I was not. I was hoping for a girl, but I got one. He's a fashionista. Oh.
Starting point is 00:06:00 I see where this is going. you two. And a dancer. And a dancer. Thanks, Mom. You remember you guys were saying that I named him after the fat kid on overboard? That's what I thought you named me as. Okay, there was another Travis on a soap opera. A soap opera. And I just had thought he was the most gorgeous man in the whole world and I named you after him. Damn it. So you told dad. So time out. Time out. I'm going to sell it. So you told dad that you liked the name Travis off of a fat little kid from overboard, but secretly you had a man crush going on and that's who you named him after. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:34 That's so terrible. How could you do that? Oh, wow. This was such a fun episode to do. Having both parents on prior to the quote unquote Kelsey Bowl was genuinely like, you know, kind of like a once in a lifetime thing to have on. And Donna's the best. I'm not going to lie to you.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Donna brings the heat every time she's on. And it did it feel to you like Jason had been waiting his entire life to ask that question? Yes. Do you wish I was a daughter? It felt like Jason only became a full player to make it to the NFL to host a podcast with his brother so he one day could ask his mother on air. Do you wish he was about her? Donna and Ed both have such great, like, comedic timing. And like Donna, Donna knows she's being ruthless but can play it off so innocently of like, no, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:07:21 He's a fashionista. It's a fashionista. She's not wrong, though. Not wrong. Keep it moving to number 36 from the. season one episode with Patrick Mahomes. This is Pat telling us a story of him cheating on his draft interview with the chiefs. The first day that I met Coach Reed was at the facility.
Starting point is 00:07:40 We had like the meetings, like the top 30 visits. So I was in there for like five hours. He's just going through plays, going through plays. And I'm going to give you all the inside scoop. Matt Nagy, who was the offensive coordinator then, he really liked me. So he gave me the plays they were going to go over the night before. So Coach Reed's finding out here live on New Heights podcast. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:08:00 Maggie, how could you? Let's go. Yeah, so of course I crushed the meeting. I stayed up all night studying those plays. It's like, man, this kid is locked in. We got ourselves a winner here. As the process went on, I kind of feeling that I was kind of going up in the draft. I had a couple of teams that said they were going to draft me, and I mean, that's true.
Starting point is 00:08:21 It's not like these coaches are making that up. I talked to them during the draft process and they were like, hey, if you're there, we're going to take you. I kind of gave a little inside info to the chief. and was like, hey, if y'all let me go anywhere below, at the time, I didn't know about the same spot. I was like, if y'all let me go 12 or below, I'm going to get drafted by someone else. You drafted yourself? You drafted yourself in Kansas City? A little bit of info on that because I wanted to be here. Anytime you've had somebody on, especially somebody like Pat, and they start a story with, I don't think I've ever told anybody of this, but I get so excited. And then he reveals that I cheesed
Starting point is 00:08:53 on the draft and I'm like, well, hold on here, Pat. I think we actually, you might need to go to a different team now. I'm not sure what happens. legally you are no longer a chief sorry we recorded that and then i spent like an hour and a half googling to make sure he hadn't told that anywhere else no it was a moment of like oh is pack it are the chief's gonna get in trouble are yeah are did we just did we just reveal a crime did he's confessed to a crime on this podcast and then the the shithead producer me he's like you got to air you got to let people know he cheated otherwise how would how could they have figured out that pat my homes is a good quarterback oh they watched the safe that
Starting point is 00:09:29 makes sense. I also think that's the only way you get that story is if he's sitting right next to one of his favorite teammates in a situation where he's comfortable. Like that that was truly a, we're a show that's a fly on the wall recording these conversations that no one else can ever get. And it was, it was very, very cool for Pat to do that. Pat's a cheater. Sorry, sorry, sorry to Texas Tech fans out there. Pat is a cheater, confirmed. Moving on to number 35. This is also from the season one pre-Celsea Bowl episode with Ed and Donna. This is Ed reacting to both of his sons playing in the Super Bowl. Pops.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Who are you rooting for? Yeah, now that we're here, what's rooting for? Kelsey. What are you rooting for? Okay. But there's two teams, so. We'll be here all day. Well, then we're going to be here a long time while you try and get that.
Starting point is 00:10:22 All right. We're in a battle to the death. one of us has to survive. Who are you rooting for? Both of you. Both of us? Both of us that are going to die? Both of us that die.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Both of you to win. I'm going to go to the Captain Kirk route. I don't believe in no-win situations. Gosh, that's good. That's from Star Trek, James, yeah, okay. No, I know. Way over my head, for sure. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:10:53 God. Jason's going to lie to you and say he knows what he's talking about. Well, I know who Captain Kirk. is. I don't remember the specific situation we're talking about here. This is from like 1967. Yeah, Jason, you don't know. This is from the TV show. This isn't from the movies.
Starting point is 00:11:06 I know. Yeah. I'm not a Star, I'm not a Trekkie. Do you know what a Trekkie is, Tram? Uh, Trekkie. Mm-hmm. Um, I would say the cult that follows Star Wars. Oh, don't get Star Wars and Star Trek mixed up. Look at this guy.
Starting point is 00:11:20 He's all over in place. Let me put my glass of on. All right. Next question. Thank you for getting us to move on. We know a lot of the media has been at you to get you to talk about the Kelsey Bowl that is to come. So let's get these out of the way. Okay, go.
Starting point is 00:11:40 We've already asked you who the favorite is, and you said me, which I love you for that. But who are you talking to first after the game? The winner or the loser? Probably the loser. Do you have any reason for that? somebody's going to feel pretty crummy. Yeah. And I want to be with him initially.
Starting point is 00:12:05 Yeah, Traff said that, you know, Mom can't lose. But actually, Mom is going to lose, and you're going to lose, right? There's going to be a winning and losing. No? No. No, one of you guys are going to lose. You're not going to lose with one of us? You're only going with the winner?
Starting point is 00:12:21 I have already won, dude. You've won what? I'm on the most popular podcast in sports. That's right. Never one. I have already fucking won, okay? All the rest of this is just window dressing. All right.
Starting point is 00:12:37 You're never going to get the answer you won if we're going to talk about winning and losing the Super Bowl. What a dad line. The story I want to tell with this, though, is how much they were amped up to, we're going to get him. We're going to get the old man on this episode. And then the second Ed sat down and started talking about how proud he was of them, they both immediately melted. That is what I want. I want the world to know. They were like, we're going to grill our dad.
Starting point is 00:12:59 We're going to grill him. And then he was like, I love you both. And I'm proud of you. And they were like, oh, shit. Thanks, dad. Thanks, dad. Yeah. They were going to get him, though.
Starting point is 00:13:07 They were ready. Folded. But no. I mean, one of those moments, though, that, like, can't be recreated and unexpected and wild to be on the other end of. Ed put it perfectly. He's like, I already fucking won. Like, yeah, of course, it doesn't matter going into the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:13:25 You've got your two boys playing against each other in the Super Bowl. and incorrect. Put your split jersey on. You'd be all right. All right. Moving on to number 34, an iconic moment and an iconic Jason line. This is Jason talking about his game day fits. The Eagles social team gave us a look at Jason's game day fit.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Shocker, Jason's game day fit is the same fit he wears every day. What the fuck do I care about a game day fit? This guy's game day ready, baby. Some people go to play football and some people play dress up, okay? I don't like to play dress up. I like to play football, all right? I'm not going to go shopping, color coordinating, getting belts and shoes and all this shit just to go play football. I don't get it for a fucking second.
Starting point is 00:14:09 What is the point? I don't get it. Okay, maybe you can explain it to me because you do it. My game day fit is my regular day fit too. So I know exactly what you're talking about. Travis. Travis. What?
Starting point is 00:14:21 You have not worn anything under $100 to a game. Your flip-flops were more than a hundred. hundred dollars. They got can openers on the bottom. Are you kidding me? It's two for one special. Which fit was he going on about here? Just why know.
Starting point is 00:14:36 So this was he had flip flops on. The flip flops, right? Start of flip flops. I want to say. So this game day fit, I was almost confused. Ocean Drive, flip flops,
Starting point is 00:14:49 and this is what Lane Johnson later dressed as Jason. Yeah, I know what this is. Yes. So it was like early on in this show that we just kept getting questions about Jason and the flip flops. Yes. Everybody wanted to know the deal with the flip flops. And as he puts it, he's walking four fucking feet to the bus.
Starting point is 00:15:13 And you know what's funny? I wonder about the flip flops. And then he explained it. I go, yeah, he's right. No, he's really not. He's not walking a mile to the stadium. He's getting on a bus. He's correct.
Starting point is 00:15:22 It did lead to some moments where I would argue that Jason is playing dress up. but we can get into that later on a different show. Shots fire. I would argue he played a little dress-up in that season, but that's just me. It might have been a season later where he literally dressed up as Doug. He sure did.
Starting point is 00:15:36 That is a dress-up. That is playing dress-up. That is playing dress-up for football game. I think this was... Sorry, which episode was this again? It's early, though, right? I don't remember the episode. Season one.
Starting point is 00:15:47 This was early in the run, though, which led to... It did lead to more questions about game-day fits, which has been fun to discuss with them. We have Game Day Fit merch. It's just a team. Game Day Fit merch. We have Game Day Fit merch. We have Game Day FitMert. Keep it moving to number 33. This is Jalen Hertz. Our first real, real guest, first sit-down episode guest of New Heights history. This is Jalen on Jason's fast snaps. He has a very unique way of snapping the ball. It's a very nice way of saying every quarterback that I've ever played with. Pate's how I'm going to get into you quick. It's up on you.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Hey, you know, people always ask me why, um, why is you staying so low? I'm like, I got to be in an athletic position. They won sports to catch the ball when it's coming, you know, but. Oh, yeah. I mean, because I remember my rookie year when I came in, like, I come in, I have a couple plays here and out throughout the game. Oh, yeah. And it was like a couple, like, I literally had maybe a handful. It's like, I'm going there and phone with a snack because I just wasn't ready like I wasn't in the position.
Starting point is 00:16:53 You know what I'm saying? Some of them were bad snatches. But, but yeah, I ain't tripping, buddy. He'd do his thing. You know what I'm saying? He do a thing. He ain't tripping. I mean, really, I'd snap it fast.
Starting point is 00:17:05 And I snap it fast because I want my hand back. That's about it. I got stuff to do. You got to use these. It's not 1940 where you can't use those hands. You can actually put them also right. Yeah, like, you know, my advantage of, like, my skill set is quickness, right? So I want to get up on the guy quick.
Starting point is 00:17:22 I want to be able to get into proper leverage. because I'm not going to out muscle nobody, so just snap fast. I have no complaint. The plus side is you got more time to make a decision if it's in the right spot. Well, like I said, I try and put myself like if I have to squatter a little lower to catch it and tripping by it. He always asks me like, how was that snap? Or if something, if there's like an M.A. in the back field or something like that,
Starting point is 00:17:52 He's like kind of like, I know he's, he's thinking about if he snapped it good or now. I'm like, hey, you good, baby. He knows him. I'll be looking at right away. So I'll figure out what happened. So, yeah, this was our first sit down, dedicated episode to one specific guest. And I'm honestly still like, I was surprised the time that we got Jalen. He had the time for it.
Starting point is 00:18:16 He was the coolest man in the world, like, did not expect it. was incredibly nervous going into this, did not know, I just didn't know how it was going to go. Our guys interviewing for the first time. How was, you know, Jalen Hertz is officially one of the coolest who I've ever met.
Starting point is 00:18:32 He came in the room, dapped everybody up, said, hey, I'm Jay Hertz. And I said, I know, I'm Brandon. He was just like, yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Jalen was the best. Also means a lot that he was like our first. He, he, he, uh, trusted that we wouldn't fuck it up. So, very happy that Jalen,
Starting point is 00:18:52 I'm very happy that Jason talked Jalen to doing it. I'm very happy we didn't fuck it up. And again, Jaden's always welcome back. Jake, how was it for you? You were there, right? Nope. Wasn't there. Missed it.
Starting point is 00:19:04 It sucks. Damn, it's pretty cool. It's pretty cool to hang out with Jaila Hertz. I'm not going to lie. Should have been there. Should have been there. Well, there's literally, I don't have like a comeback because it's not like I'm going to stuff without you.
Starting point is 00:19:16 It's true. Gotcha. The first season, I got you a few times. Anyways. All right, moving on to number 32 on our list. Real full circle moment from season three talking about, or season two, the guys talking about meeting royalty to the first time to actually having a royal on the show. This is Prince William joining New Heights.
Starting point is 00:19:42 Our guest today is the six foot three prince from London, England. That's right, the president of the English football. and the vice royal patron of the Welsh Rugby Union. The Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of Cornwall, the Lord of the Isles, Prince of Great Stuart of Scotland, Earl of Chester and the Prince of Wales. 99% is please welcome his royal highness, Prince William! That is quite an intro, guys, amazing.
Starting point is 00:20:10 We had to do a big for you, had to do a big. So the behind the scenes tidbit I want to give for this clip is just we got like a company slack message that was a, like Brandon has been in touch with Kensington Palace. We will be recording an episode on Friday with Prince William. And I texted Brandon on immediately on the side. I go, what the fuck? What do you mean you've been in touch with Kensington Palace? Who else do you think he talks to you? What do you mean? You don't, you don't reach up? Yeah. Yeah, my, sometimes I get absurd text messages that say, hey, do you mind if we share your number with Kensington Palace?
Starting point is 00:20:53 And I go, yes, that's fine with me. Go ahead. And then you get a text that's from a London number and you just roll with it. Should I be talking to the royal family? No, absolutely not. Nothing about that as normal or where I expected my life to go. But it's very funny. It is also very funny.
Starting point is 00:21:14 This was part of that week where we did the live. show on Monday. We recorded with Tom Brady on Wednesday. Wednesday. And that was supposed to be the end of the season. But I had to tell as like, hey guys, heads up. If you have time on Friday, I think we could get Prince William for a little bit of time. And they said, what the fuck are you talking about? And as I guess Jake put it, I have been in touch with Kensington Pals. So no, that is a bizarre, absurd connection to have made. I still don't think it's real. And look forward to many more of those. But by all means, share my number with whoever you want.
Starting point is 00:21:50 It's out there now. Foreign dignitaries just reach out to Brandon to get on the show. Please, we're going to be a little model you in by the end of our run here. Moving on the number 31. Going from Prince, Prince William. Going to English leadership to American leadership. This is Travis on our show addressing his time at the White House where he attempted to address my fellow Americans. What were you going to say when you went up to the podium while President Joe Biden was distracted?
Starting point is 00:22:22 Distracted. So I've been waiting for this. Sorry, I'm sorry. It was the oldest trick in the book, and Joe fell for it. It was, what's over there? I mean, come on. Obviously, the president at the podium, it's iconic, right? Sure.
Starting point is 00:22:42 It's iconic in how he usually addresses the nation to my first. fellow Americans. That's all I wanted to say, dude. That's all you wanted to say? That's it. I just wanted to go up there. I shouldn't have started off with, I've always wanted to do this. If you would have started off with my fellow Americans, that would have been such a showstopper. I don't think they would have kicked you off. If somebody gets up to the podium and says, my fellow Americans, it's like immediate like, all right, what's this dude about to say? Pat knew that I was, uh. Yeah, Pat was on it. I was in over my head, man. This is probably an all-time moment in New Heights Slack history. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:16 This is probably a every, like it was, you know, for those who that you slack, it is one of those where you just see a name typing, you see the second name typing, then it goes, many people are typing. And it was everybody going, what the fuck did he just do? Travis is about to get shot? Is Travis going to jail? No, this is a great moment. And I love talking with him about it.
Starting point is 00:23:40 And I do feel like we set him up for this by, I think we were daring him to find the treasure map in the White House because we're all, you know, big fans of, he, we had asked him his plans the week before and he had said he was going to national treasure the White House. And somehow topped that by just, listen, you can't leave an open mic around him. You can't do it. If you leave a podium and a microphone and he's nearby, he will address it. He will have a speech ready. All time Pat moment, too.
Starting point is 00:24:08 All time Pat moment. Cubie awareness level of, to pull him away. His Madden score should have gone way up just on awareness. alone of like I got to get him out of there. He cannot. A girl moment. No, one of those you had to be there to go, oh, okay, I guess we got next week's episode figured out.
Starting point is 00:24:24 I guess we know what we're talking about. All right. Moving on to number 30 on our list. A seminal moment in New Heights. Defining moment of New Heights. This is from the second or third episode ever. I think it's the third one, yeah. And this is Jason and Travis talking about the ideal play to,
Starting point is 00:24:45 fourth and goal at the one, the QB sneak grant. Game on the line, fourth and one on the goal line. What player are you running? I'm running. There's only one right answer. Some type of rollout. There's only one correct answer, and that's because it is the highest percentage chance
Starting point is 00:25:03 of getting one yard. And that's quarterback sneak. Quarterback sneaking it? It blows my mind how many teams do not run a quarterback sneak with one goddamn yard. What the fuck are you doing? It's a 92% chance. There's not a play in the playbook that has a higher percentage chance of working than quarterback's sneak.
Starting point is 00:25:23 Listen, we had to get away from it because our quarterback's kneecap was in the side of his side of his leg, okay? I was looking at it like, ah, what the, somebody come get pat. I mean, this is why our fans are the 92 percenters. This, this set off a, this is like the, you know, that meme of like the little domino leading to the big one. This is the first domino that ends up with that play getting banned. right this is this is the moment that started with like probably that play getting banned somewhere down the future it was though for those you that were listening at the time like this was a week where i believe there was two or three games that featured fourth and one from the goal or fourth and goal
Starting point is 00:26:05 from the one and teams fucked it up and it was just an offhanded thing i was like hey guys do you see like three teams fucked up fourth and fourth and goal from the one and And Jason goes, did I? And I'm like, oh, we got it. Go ahead. And then, you know, from this was born the just QB sneak it. What are we doing? And he made up this stat on the fly.
Starting point is 00:26:28 That 92% of stat is made up on the fly. We fact checked it later, as we do with everything. We fact checked it weeks later. And he's fucking correct. And the season went on. It proved to be more correct. I was going to say it was the end of the season. They finished exactly with 92%.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Which is fucking. But if Jason does this rant and he goes, it works 93% of the time. Our fans are the 93%ers, which does not, does not roll off the tongue the way 92%ers does. So incredible, incredible moment of Kism. Man, 30 maybe is too low for this one, actually. If it comes merch, I feel like we got to move in. Anyways, do you argue about it? I think the rest of the list you could argue is seated too low besides one.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Listen, we're in Bangor's territory only. These are, you will know all of these by heart if you've been listening to the show. Moving on to number 29. From the live show in Los Angeles, this is Travis expanding his palate was my airplane noises. Last time I was in L.A., Jason and I went down the street and I was a very picky eater. And there was a bit that came out on New Lights not too long ago about how I liked airplane noises when I ate. yeah it's kind of fucked up actually like I was a child a child getting fed food so we have a fun clip for you here
Starting point is 00:27:51 I feel like and we won't use this in the episode but I feel like Taylor has definitely expanding your I gotta use it yeah I gotta use it we can fucking use it that's nothing wrong with that I feel like you grown up I'm not so he's more adventurous of food yeah it's not trying to act like one of the man when I'm around her and eat foods I haven't tried before yes she does the little airplane noises I like it Well, what if it's an airplane and it's going? Zoom.
Starting point is 00:28:23 It's landing. It's safely. Again, absurd, absurd text that we received. I've never been bullied by two more famous people. And you know what? Happy for it. I'm glad we're helping our boy. The Brandon moment is top 30.
Starting point is 00:28:40 I'm not involved in this. I just. He says that one's for you, Brandon. He did say that, didn't he? That's funny. Yeah. Well,
Starting point is 00:28:49 flipped off the camera. I was actually, I don't give you your flowers. It's a surprising video to receive someday. It's very funny. It's very funny to receive. This doesn't happen without your joke when we were recording with Kylie. So nailed that joke.
Starting point is 00:29:02 Nailed that joke. Actually, you know what? It doesn't happen without Kylie. Yes. Yes. I'm more emboldened to talk shit when Kylie's there because I feel like I got cover. I feel like she'll cover for me.
Starting point is 00:29:11 I feel like she'll, Like, she'll help. And once and for all, Travis proved he's not a picky eater. He's not a picky eater. So the joke is dead. I mean, people, I actually, I'll tell this story. I got a lot of shit for that. People were like, how dare you speak to him that way?
Starting point is 00:29:25 And I was like, my friend? Like, you know I know him, right? Like, we talk shit to each other constantly. Like, who do you think? Somebody was like, who do you think you are to speak to him? And I was like, I don't know, producer of the podcast. I don't fucking know. Kind of who I think I, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Oh, who am I? And it was a very existential, existential, like 15-minute crisis for me. Very much like, yeah, who am I? To speak to Travis that way. Walk. No, but I do feel more bold than to talk to talk spicy when, when Kylie is there. Kylie will help. Kyle's my dog.
Starting point is 00:29:56 She'll help me out. Moving on number 28. One of my favorite football stories that's ever been told on this podcast. God, damn. This is so good. Matthew Stafford talking about Aaron Donald. I'll just leave it there. Matthew Stafford talking about Aaron Day.
Starting point is 00:30:12 I'll never forget. And he was crazy in the wait room. Oh, I know what? Like the rock came in and worked out with him one time. Just doing a knife fighting. Yeah, I mean, he's a maniac in the weight room, right? And I'll never forget. This was 21 or 22 maybe.
Starting point is 00:30:28 Yeah. We had like a make a wish kid who had like a year before had been like, hey, I want to, my dream is to go like be with Aaronobel for a day kind of thing. And thankfully, this kid at that point had kind of beaten the odds and had beaten the cancer that he had, I believe, and, like, was really on the mend, and it was really cool. Like, he came in, and you're like, oh, man, this guy's, like, doing good, right? High school kid, like, bigger kid, like, love to play football. And, ADD, was like, cool, come work out with me, right?
Starting point is 00:30:53 And I'm, like, I'm walking by. I'm like, yo, what is about to hang? Yeah, right? And I look over, and, like, I'm over there doing, like, banded something. And, like, 30 minutes in, and 80s just ripping curls out. And this, and this next thing you know, this kid is puking in the trash can. Oh, my God. And I'm like, 80.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Can you please, like, have a little coot, a little understanding like, no. The kid you got what he wanted. You want a BAD. You got a word. You want to do it. It was on chemo for months, AD. I'm like, God, can we just relax on the bicep curls for a little bit? It's like, how many do we do?
Starting point is 00:31:28 Until we throw up. You know, it was just like, unbelievable. I was like, this guy has no, I mean, the motor just never stops, man. It was incredible. Stafford is a Hall of Fame level. and player. We went into this one, like, there's a, he tells a story in a different podcast about a guy he played high school football with Jake Felt.
Starting point is 00:31:50 If you have not seen that clip, go watch. It's very funny. He's a great storyteller. We went to this being like, man, we got a, we want a moment. We want to get a story. Like, we want to get a story from Stafford. And he said, have you heard the story of Aaron Donald to make a wish kid, everybody in the room leaned forward.
Starting point is 00:32:08 And that was where we went, no, we have not, sir. Go ahead. And God, damn, does it deliver? Aaron Donald, God bless you. When he said, have some cooth, I lost it. He's the first and last guy to use the phrase cooth on the show. We should, we should, is that a, should we just make a shirt. Cuth merch.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Have some Cuth. All right, we'll think about that. Wait, hold on, wait. Sorry. One last story about this because social media brings the world all together. The fucking kid who, worked out with Aaron Donald saw the story and like it became a whole thing. The NFL like got videos like him and like legally might need to check on this kid.
Starting point is 00:32:47 And he's doing great. He was playing. He like played football. I want to say, uh, I'm not even going to name where he went because I don't remember, but he was playing football in college and, uh, it all came full circle in a very happy way. Glad to hear the kids doing well. Because it was as they were telling this story, the kid is. not at all like how I pictured him when they were telling this.
Starting point is 00:33:11 No, I got really concerned and had to look it up. I was like, oh, okay, we were fine to leave that in. I thought Aaron Donald was making like a 110 pound kid pass out. I had the same image. I had the same image of like, oh, no, like, uh-oh. No, this is fine. It was fine. It's a good story.
Starting point is 00:33:27 It's a good story. We had Cuth. Moving on to number 27. This is from season one. This is, I believe, an episode we did in person with the guys. by we. That's right. You weren't there.
Starting point is 00:33:41 That's right. You weren't there. That's crazy. Should have been there. This is the guys on signing babies. What is the weirdest thing you guys have autographed? I don't really have anything that weird. I've been asked to sign a baby.
Starting point is 00:33:53 That's pretty weird. Kids come out and say, hey, can you sign my arm? Like, yeah, I got to get parental consent. But the parent was the one that actually asked me to sign their babies. Where did you sign the baby? I didn't sign them. I did not put a Sharpie on a baby. So you'd refuse the baby.
Starting point is 00:34:04 If that baby would have went to the hospital, I would have felt. What would have gone to the? I don't know, lick its hand, lick its arm. Isn't Sharpie bad for skin? You're a dad, you should know these kind of things. My babies have ingested lots of things, way worse than Sharpe. The first baby, you drop the pacifier on the ground, and you got to take it up, put it in boiling water, make sure it's completely sanitary before you put it back in the kid's
Starting point is 00:34:26 mouth. You know what happens now with Elliot? That thing could be under the couch, living its life. If she's crying, I'm picking it up, giving it the wipe off and it's going right in the mouth. All right. I'll sign it baby. Give me a baby outside.
Starting point is 00:34:38 This entire time I'm thinking I'm doing the right thing. Now I'm not signing that baby. Yeah, you are. I mean, people literally brought baby dolls to the link because of this episode, which is incredible. It's actually insane the amount of children, fake children that we are asked to sign now. Like you go anywhere there's a baby or a fake baby ready with a Sharpie next room. We really didn't look into how bad sharpies are for babies. So maybe we should.
Starting point is 00:35:05 I'm assuming it's fine. Jake, I was going to say, they got to sign my kid. If you got to sign your kid, what are you going to forehead? Oh, am I signing the kid?
Starting point is 00:35:14 I thought Jason Travis. When we all sign, when we, we all sign your baby, what are we doing? Forehead, arm. Forehead. Forehead.
Starting point is 00:35:21 I think it's up to the signer. Well, you get the baby. Get the baby. We'll figure it out. No. Tempo clip in the new height, new heights universe.
Starting point is 00:35:30 All right. So this next clip in number 26 might be our most viewed clip on YouTube of all time, which is crazy given all the other books that's gone out. But this is, I don't think, her first appearance on the show, but definitely one of the more memorable ones. This is from season two when Jason's kids crashed the party to say hi to Uncle Trap. Wyatt asked her she could say hi. What?
Starting point is 00:35:54 Come on. Hi, Uncle Trab. What's up, girlie? How are you doing? Good. How was gymnastics? What are you wearing? Tell Uncle Trab what you're wearing.
Starting point is 00:36:05 A Liatar. Ooh, very nicely said. How about those pink shoes from the game? That was fun, huh? Yeah. Can Ellie say hi-Why? Yeah. Love you girl.
Starting point is 00:36:17 Bye, Uncle Treb. Bye. She's so adorable. Ellie. Hi. Hi. How you doing? You're smiling big.
Starting point is 00:36:26 You're making my day. All right, girly. You're going to go take a shower? Yeah. Nighty. Oh, you want to show Uncle Trave your glasses? She's styling. Movie star!
Starting point is 00:36:33 I love it. I'll be up in a second. We only got two ad reads left. All right, let's make these ad reads last as long as possible. Got hit with a shoe. Just adorable. No, I mean, we, you know, we always talk about like the authenticity of the show. And, hey, that's what it looks like when you're trying to podcast with four children.
Starting point is 00:36:56 That is what it looks like. Sometimes they run through the background and you go, I don't know, bring them in. What do they got? They got some takes. But who's the most overtive to QBs this season? Ask them. I do think, I mean, like, the guys have talked about historically how, like, prior to this show is tough for them to, like, you know, find time to talk to each other, like,
Starting point is 00:37:14 during the season. And now they have designated time every single week. And, like, every single week. There's truly moments in the show where it's just like, we stop doing the show and they just get to, like, have a conversation with their brother. And it's also like, oh, yeah, a bunch of other people are listening to it. Hi, there's eight of us. Do you mind if we use this on social?
Starting point is 00:37:32 media. All right. Let's keep it moving. Oh, man. Number 25. It needs no introduction from the season's three finale. This is Pretty Man. We watched the 1990s classic Pretty Woman. Yes, sir. What score do you think it gets on the feminism chart? This is what there's so there were a lot of people saying this movie is very misogynistic. I'll be honest, I am not good at this topic. I don't know. I think the only way to gauge it is to flip the script. I think we We need to make pretty man. Pretty man. And we need to have a CEO billionaire woman be so, be so high class that she doesn't know where she's going.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Travis, you're, you're living pretty man right now. You are pretty man. You're living your old Julia Roberts straight now. I'm wearing nothing but a tie when Taylor comes home. Oh my gosh That's funny Oh man You can't breathe it man
Starting point is 00:38:53 That's why me and Julia Roberts When I met Julia, That's It felt like we were We were the same person It's so cool She spoke to me in this movie Holy shit
Starting point is 00:39:07 All right now It's all I'm just the NFL Stripper. That's it. Just an NFL hunker, man. I mean, I'm the one who's stripping over at the Ocean Drive. When the light bulb flips for Jason. The moment it clicks, it clicks.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Because I was like a half a tick behind him trying to type it in the dock. But I, he beat me to it. He got there quicker of, oh, we're describing Travis. Yeah. Oh, we're describing Travis.
Starting point is 00:39:33 I mean, this is an incredible moment. Incredible moment. I'm glad that they both got there. No. And he's officially pretty much. in now. So officially. Officially. Legally. All right. Coming in at number 24, we had, I think, like, the original version of this list, we had like 15 different clips from this episode
Starting point is 00:39:56 because it is legitimately one of my favorites, but we narrowed it down to just this one to make the final list because it was iconic. And it was an great in-person episode. This is Julian Edelman talking about Randy Moss. What's Randy telling you? Just be bigger. and faster than everybody and jump up and guess you were like... I just remember Randy how he used to call me Edelnut. Edelnut. Hey, Edelnut, get my hot tub about 103 and get my Gatorade. That's where we used to have the metal tubs.
Starting point is 00:40:29 You know, you have metal tubs and hot tub. He never wanted to go on the regular hot tub. You had to have his own shit with the look. He had to have this, uh, it was like menthol, rubbing alcohol in there, fucking saw. And he go, Edelna, go get my towel, my Gator, and make that hot tub about 103, 103, 102, don't fuck it up. It's one time. What a lesson.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Yes, sir. It's one time, Randy. It was like the day before Christmas and we had to work. We had a game on Christmas or something. And Randy was talking to his mom. And I just walked by. I was like, hey, Randy told Mama Moss. I said, you know, Merry Christmas.
Starting point is 00:41:05 He goes, Edelnut, when I'm talking to my motherfucking mom, you shut the fuck up. I literally went like this. I looked at and I fucking just, I walked away. I was so scared. I was a rookie. He's like, don't you fucking talk to me when I'm talking about my mom. Julian should do voiceover work.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Like his impersonations of guys are just incredible. Yeah, he did. He did Belichick on this one too. It was really good. And I think he did Tom at one point and maybe grunk. These are my favorite kind of stories. These are like when we were thinking. of what to ask Edelman.
Starting point is 00:41:45 We were, you know, you kind of like do the game of like connecting him to other big name players. And like, I think the light bulb went off like, oh shit, he played with Randy Moll. What the fuck was that like? Like, and sometimes the easiest, the best question is the easiest one of like, what the fuck is Randy Moss like? And he delivers and you go, oh, he's exactly how I hope he would be. And it shut the fuck up.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Edelnaut has become a thing I like say out loud. Well, and, uh, uh, like, you, you still see like, Julian Edelman will post a video. And, like, in his comments, there'll be people being like, Edelna, Edelna, and it's like, that's... I don't know. I don't know if we cursed you with that or not, but, like, incredible story. I mean, I think it was Randy.
Starting point is 00:42:24 It was Randy. Yeah, Randy. God, Randy's the best. All right, coming in at number 23, this is from season three. We have been waiting a while to get this Ohio kid on the show. Just a kid from Macron. Just a kid from Akron. LeBron James.
Starting point is 00:42:40 LeBron James. Have you seen this tweet from 2015? LeBron is 30. This fucking won't go on for much longer. Thank God. Yes, I saw that tweet throughout all of my 30s. That's too funny. And I laughed at it so hard every single time.
Starting point is 00:42:58 Put it up in the locker. You just put it right there. Like, yeah. I want to know what's funny, when I turn 40, the same fucking guy said LeBron turned 40. This is going on much longer. That's fucking gold. So good.
Starting point is 00:43:14 So good. Look at that. That's so good. He's going to be really upset when I turned 50. No doubt. I mean, it was insane to talk to LeBron. I, we knew of this tweet. Like, there's a million LeBron memes, right?
Starting point is 00:43:29 We had all of them on a page at one point. We genuine, like, what if he fucking hates this tweet? Yes. Very scared. What if we're like, hey, have you heard of this tweet where they think you should not play basketball anymore and he's like man fuck you for bringing that up and we're like oh sorry we were a little concerned he would not think it was funny
Starting point is 00:43:48 but it turns out he's got a great sense of humor and he's very funny and uh it was I love the response we got from like NBA Twitter of like holy shit they asked him about the tweet I was like yeah I'm with you guys I always wanted to know what he thought of it he also knew the father yeah the fucker can't go on after 40 or whatever yeah I mean yeah shout out oh LeBron LeBron knew it and the I mean, the crazy thing is, is that it keeps becoming more and more relevant because he just keeps playing at a high level. Every year, keep updating that tweet.
Starting point is 00:44:20 This fuckery can't continue for much longer is a great, a great phrase. Wonderful phrase. And I'm so happy that he found it as funny as we did. Coming in at number 22, all-time moment. Oh, man, this maybe should be higher Alzheimer's. Also from the season three finale. Season three finale was a wild record. I don't know what we were all on that day, but we should probably get.
Starting point is 00:44:41 that back in our systems, but that was a wild record. It's honestly, we're on, we're all high from talking to Baker Mayfield. We were all juiced up having to talk to the shaking and bake and we all went nuts. Anyways, this is Bambi, move your tits. There was a report. I'm not saying it's true or not. I have no idea of whether it's wrong. Jason.
Starting point is 00:44:59 It's on ESPN. There was a report out there that they were spending, they were using the company card of the NFLPA on strip club visits and holding business meetings there. and apparently you can't do that. It's against company policy. How do you feel about that, Jason? Do you think you should be able to... All right, here's the official thing.
Starting point is 00:45:18 All right, this is from ESPN, a solid establishment. No few people there. Former NFLPA leader Lloyd Howell Jr. resigned after an outside investigator hired by the union. So somebody with inside the union ranted him out. Man, that's fucked up. All right. Received documents this week showing he charged the union for, Two visits to strip clubs, including a $738.82 car service that took him from the airport to one of the clubs.
Starting point is 00:45:50 That's an expensive car service, right? How much is a car service? He got, he was the got a limousine. The car's first stop was at a nearby Miami Gardens address. The receipt shows only one other stop nearly eight hours later. So, Hawaii. Are you putting this on the company card? What are we doing?
Starting point is 00:46:15 The employees Googled the Miami Gardens address and discovered it was Tootsie's cabaret, which I've not been, but I have heard great things of that establishment. It's a 76,000 square foot venue that builds itself as the world's largest drum club, in quotes, full nude, number one rated. I mean, sounds like a good establishment. To be fair, I've heard the wings are. good there. Like everyone loves the wings there. During this year's NFLP
Starting point is 00:46:44 summit on February 21st, Hal accompanied two union employees to the Magic City Strip Club for an outing that included $2,426 in charges, including cash withdrawals ranging from $200 to $525 from a club ATM sources and documents show.
Starting point is 00:47:00 They used two VIP rooms. Well, I mean, the VIP rooms is where you get me because, listen, this is the only thing I don't know. Was it being used for business expense or not? If it was being use and business was happening. I don't see what the issue is. I mean, they're conducting business, right?
Starting point is 00:47:16 What was the business? I know, NFLPA business. I don't know what the play of business was. It says it right here. The strip club outing was used to... According to the expense report, the purpose of the strip club outing, player engagement event to support and grow our union.
Starting point is 00:47:27 I'm going to be honest, there's not a lot of engagement that happens with the players union. It's hard to get guys to go to meetings and get involved. Having a meeting at Tootsie's, Mike, is not a bad idea to improve engagement.
Starting point is 00:47:40 Yeah. You're probably going to get more players going to go. Take them to the VIP room. Well, that's where you lose you. So you can't get their attention. Well, you can't have too much business if you're in a one-on-one VIP room. It's a bold idea to create more engagement by Mr. Howl and it backfired. You got to use the reference, what you said earlier. What's the ones of that?
Starting point is 00:48:08 Yeah, is it Applebee's or the strip club? if there, it doesn't matter what you're, I mean, you go to Applebee's it's a business expense. You go to a strip club and you get wings. It's, I don't see why it's much different. I mean, we're all 21 here, right? But I, they don't have a VIP room at the Applebee's
Starting point is 00:48:26 where you sit there for, all by yourself. This can't bode well for our upcoming contract negotiations with the league. It's funny that this is what, this is what the play. players pay for. This is like, he's using the NFLPA's money for these expenses. And it's just,
Starting point is 00:48:49 it's hilarious that, you know. The Mad and checks go there. Yeah. We pay our dues to the union. And this is what it's being used for. Wings. It's being used for wings in a VIP room.
Starting point is 00:49:03 I'm just saying also player engagement. You saw it right there on the report. There was company morale is a big. thing and improving them the PA needs to improve their morale. There's not a lot of excitement when you talk about collective bargaining agreements. So you, I don't know. I mean, you have some wings. They might not have even known Tutsis versus Trip Club.
Starting point is 00:49:27 Maybe they thought they were going to a restaurant. I don't know what, who knows what they knew. I mean, they probably knew when they walked in. They knew. They knew before they walked. Yeah, it's not good. It's not good. If they actually were.
Starting point is 00:49:41 If they actually got work done. This is so bogus. I mean, what if they had like laptops out and like we're like crunching numbers at the fucking table? They were crunching numbers. There were crunching numbers and in between the numbers that were going over to the ATM. Excuse me. Could you put this up on the display? Bambi, if you can please move to the side.
Starting point is 00:50:05 I just want to show that guaranteed contracts is a potential for the future. of the NFL. Bambi. Lower. Lower, Bambi, lower, lower, all right. You can see right here
Starting point is 00:50:19 from my graph that if we just hold out for two to three weeks, that's X amount of money that the NFL is going to incur an expense. Bambi, move your tits. I'm trying to show my graph.
Starting point is 00:50:47 That word. If I gone too far, if I gone too far with this? Oh, gosh. I'm trying to show my graph. Somebody. Please give Bambi $200 so I can get her off the stage and show my ground. We don't know what's going on in that building.
Starting point is 00:51:17 It's so ridiculous. It's pretty absurd. It's not good. The thing about this moment, the behind-the-scenes story here, we hopped on the record. I believe Jason said, hey, there's not a lot of football in the show. And we said, well, it's fucking June. And then somebody chimed in with, well, did you see that story about the NFLPA and the strippers? And he goes, oh, boy, did I?
Starting point is 00:51:45 Well, actually, I think it's about the time he got to the phrase, good idea, I'd hit the record button. It was like, okay, this is a whole lot. Jason, repeat everything you just said to me, please. Um, God damn it. Bambi. He could not have picked a better name for the hypothetical stripper at Tudson's. I gotta see my chart. Bammy!
Starting point is 00:52:06 Move your Tots and cutts on my trash. Incredible. Yeah. In incredible. Shout out Lloyd Howell. Shout out Pablo Tore for the excellent reporting. Actually, that was from Pablo Torre, wasn't it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:18 That led us to that. Yeah. Very cool. And then our, so I'm, I'm, big fan of Pablo's podcast. Our clip then made it into a future episode of Pablo. And I was like, we're Big J journalists now. That's very cool. We broke news. We broke news that NFL players would actually prefer NFLPA meetings to be as job clubs. All right. Coming in at 21, maybe one of the best stories ever told in the show. Man. We knew we wanted to get this teammate on for a long time.
Starting point is 00:52:50 We got them on in season two. And I mean, I'll let them tee it up. But, But the way Travis teased up this clip is just so perfect. This is Chris Jones talking about the combine. Where are we at here? If we're sticking to it, it's the combine. Nice, the combine. Man, I'll tell you what. You had one of the most electric combine moments, I think, has ever gone on national television, man.
Starting point is 00:53:18 Let's just talk about it. Yeah, let's talk about it. Yeah, let's talk about it, big guy. How'd that 40-yard dashboard before? I hope that is with you, bro. I was so big. going to be different from everyone. Everybody was wearing the fucking long tights.
Starting point is 00:53:29 I was like, you know what? I am not going out there and copying everybody. I'm going to wear the short tights. I didn't realize they was boxers, bro. I didn't realize they was boxes, bro. I understood God. And you know, they put you in the trains when you're standing in combat. It's like these, the rooms are like little train cabins that I can barely see.
Starting point is 00:53:49 So I'm just grabbing them. I'm like, I'm going to put these on. I'm running knees. Fucking get out there. Everybody is looking crazy. crazy. I'm like, let's do it. Oh, my gosh. Well, it made you faster, man. It made you so fast.
Starting point is 00:54:00 You tripped over your feet. Oh, my gosh. I tripped over that third leg. Again, this was another moment. Like the LeBron thing. I was like, we have to ask him. But I don't know, I don't know the appropriate way to ask him in. When your junk fell out at the compound, what was that like?
Starting point is 00:54:25 But like in my head, I'm like, that's kind of how I want to ask him. But I don't, I don't know if that's professional. Chris Jones, incredible storyteller. Incredible storyteller. Incredible storyteller, incredible storyteller, incredible voice. Like Chris Jones' voice telling this story. Telling that story is we need Chris Jones like narrate children's books. Yeah, Chris Jones, all-timer.
Starting point is 00:54:44 I'm so glad that this was a moment he was willing to talk about and that it was as funny to everybody as it was to those of us that do remember what it happened. But yes, keep it moving. to oh god number number 20 man this is a guess that may maybe on my mount rushmore people ever been in the room with this is bill murray talking about roadhouse we recently reviewed roadhouse the original Patrick suasy film yes there is a legend out there that um you used to call the husband of Kelly Lynch uh who plays dr clay anytime uh a particular scene came on with Patrick Swayze on the television. Is this rumor true?
Starting point is 00:55:30 One of the hardest things I ever had to do was to call a friend. And at a late hour, I mean, very, very, and not without some back and forth, should I, shouldn't, I, shouldn't I? And as a friend, you got to do it. I did not identify myself, but I just said, hey, as a friend, I think she'd probably turn on TBS right now. Oh, God. Because that son of a bitch, Pat Swayce is slamming it to your wife.
Starting point is 00:56:35 Oh, yeah. Swayze, Swayze, may he rest and pace. There are a lot of wonderful things, a beloved guy, but that was wrong what he did. Dude, that's why you're the legend. God, that's so good. That's right. Thank you for this gold man. This is wrong.
Starting point is 00:57:15 What's wrong? Are we done now? I've told you this, but I always heard it. Bill Murray genuinely is a person that I was terrified to be in the room room. I just am like, that's, that's Bill Murray. Like, I don't, if this guy doesn't like me, it will break me as a person. If he does not think I'm, like, cool or important, like, I will, I will shatter and have to go do something else my life. He did suggest I get fired, though.
Starting point is 00:57:39 He did. He also, my, I mean, we were out at a hoopie for this, which was very cool. Shout out of a hoopie golf, didn't get to play, got to look, but not touch. He walked in the room and we were, it was immediately like there was a presence. in the room. I introduced myself to Bill. And then I get, you know, we've mentioned Greg throughout these episodes. Shout out to Greg. Greg, being the man that he is, was trying to make sure that Bill met all the people and was like, oh, Bill, this is Jake. He works on the show. And I just introduced myself to him like five minutes earlier. And he goes, oh, Jake, we go way back.
Starting point is 00:58:14 I was like, fuck, yeah. That's so awesome. He's, he's, he's every, he's getting to, like, work and I'm putting work in quotes here getting to work with bill murray is like one of those like it's a thing i'll remember forever because you know that's fucking it's stripes that's ghostbusters that's saturn alive that's like that's i bill like me he was cool bill was cool an icon very an icon absolute icon and and we we've heard the roadhouse story before and knew that it was something he's talked about but i mean but him telling it him telling you crushed it crushed it crushed it crushed it. Crushed it.
Starting point is 00:58:53 Perfect. All right. Moving on, we're inside the top 20 now. Speaking of icons. Icons. Going at number 19. This is Leonardo DiCaprio and Benicio del Toro talking about their stage names. I grew up watching Michael Vic.
Starting point is 00:59:09 And it was just like a holy shit moment for me that I'm actually playing football with this guy. When you guys first got going, like, were there any holy shit? I'm on set with X or I'm doing a movie here or I'm a part of something. like what were your guys kind of holy shit moments for acting? Like holy shit in a positive way or like a holy shit? It could be either. Whatever stands out. You know, I had some negative ones too.
Starting point is 00:59:32 I probably had more negative ones than I had positive ones. I remember auditioning when I was very young. I was like a child actor. My stepbrother was an actor and there were these acting agents that that would line you up like cattle and they just go and I was a breakdance. I'd breakdance for like money on the streets sometimes. And so I'd like the step haircut. Oh, let's go.
Starting point is 00:59:54 And it was like, yes, yes, no. And they look at me, no. And then a yes, yes, yes. And they all got agents. And I remember saying my dad, this is horrible. I went back and they did it again. Yes, yes. No.
Starting point is 01:00:06 And I just remember my dad saying, you know, someday you're going to have your time, son, just keep at it, keep at it. And then, you know, I got to do. Oh, and then another thing that was funny. I first got my, these aren't holy shit. I'm just thinking about my whole. This is great. This is holy shit to me.
Starting point is 01:00:20 This is holy shit. for those ages. Those agents right now, like, what the fuck were we thinking now? And then they gave me my, remember your first photos that you got? Oh, yeah, headshots, yeah. And they said, your name is too,
Starting point is 01:00:32 I finally got an agent. They said, your name is too ethnic. I go, what do you mean? Selinardi Cabber. They go, no, too ethnic, they're never going to hire. Your new name is Lenny Williams. I said, what is, what is Lenny?
Starting point is 01:00:44 I said, what is Lenny Williams? We took your middle name and we made it. Now you're Lenny. And my dad saw his photo ripped it up and he said, over my dead body. And I said, or Benny Dell. Benny Dell.
Starting point is 01:01:00 Mr. Dell. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Benny Williams, Benny Dell. Lenny Williams, Benny Dell. Let's go. This podcast would not be the same with Lenny Williams and Benny Dell.
Starting point is 01:01:11 I tell you that right now. That WWE intro would not sound the same. Imagine being the idiot who told Leonardo DiCaprio he needed to change his name to be successful in Hollywood. Lenny Williams is such a weird like, sounds like a 1970s like pitcher. Lenny Williams doesn't have an Oscar. I'll say that.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Leo should have a few more, in my opinion. Both, you know, oh man, I don't even know like where to talk about the behind the scenes of this. Because like they, you know, you don't know what to expect
Starting point is 01:01:42 when you are talking to two people that you sort of know, you know, like, Leonardo Capra's been famous since I was like 10 years old. Like it's, it's very bizarre to then be like, hey, are your headphones working? Like it is, I don't. I'm like, fifth grade me would not believe that me and Titanic are hanging out right now. Like it would, it's, you know, it sounds like a lie.
Starting point is 01:02:07 And I think we can add Benicio de Toro to like the list of coolest people we've ever talked to. For sure. Chill. The chillest man alive, Benicio de Toro. Keep moving to number 18. Man, season one finale. A lot of the season one finale happened. Big episode for us as people.
Starting point is 01:02:23 This is Jason telling the greatest training camp joke he's ever heard. You guys do anything rookie wise? We've never been big hazing. The biggest thing that we do that we started doing with Doug was like a rookie singing portion. It's turned into just singing, though. It used to be a talent show. You could do whatever you want. And that's what it was when Doug was first there.
Starting point is 01:02:41 And we had a fullback who did the best joke I had ever heard when Doug Peterson was a coach. He gets up there in the middle of a team meeting and he's like, all right, there's these three guys and they're sitting around a table. The first guy comes up thinking to himself, he's, you know what, I'm pretty fast. I think I'm so fast. I think I'm the fastest man in the world. So he goes out, they time them in the 40-yard dash and he sends his time in to the Guinness Book of World Records. Second guy says, you know what? I'm tall. I'm so tall. I think I'm the tallest man in the world.
Starting point is 01:03:05 So they get the measuring tape up, they measure them. They take a picture and they send it off to the Guinness Book of World record. The third guy says, you know what? I got a small d'I got a small. It's so small. I think it might be the smallest d'i in the world. They take out a ruler, measure it, take a picture, send it off to the Guinness Book of World records. They're sitting around a few weeks later and the results come back.
Starting point is 01:03:22 The first guy opens the letter. He's excited. I did it. I'm the fastest man in the world. Second guy, rips open the letter. I did it. I'm the tallest man of the world. Third guy, getting excited, opens his letter.
Starting point is 01:03:31 And he says, who the fuck is Doug Peterson? I vividly remember people were slacking during this moment, like, where's Jason going with this? And I knew where the punchline is. Like general punchline, I knew where it was going. And I was like, just let him go. He's cooking right now. Yes. I had heard this, I'd heard versions of this joke before.
Starting point is 01:03:57 And there was some nervous energy around like, wait, what is he? going to say here and can we air it? And I was like, no, no, this is like a, this is like an old school joke. I know this. I've heard this. And then I will give Jason absolute credit, the delivery of this is perfect. That was the perfect cadence, rhythm delivery of that punchline. Maybe one of our most popular clips. Maybe up there. For sure. Incredible. And I will say, I think the part that gets lost for a lot of people is when Jason tags it with. And I think we caught him anyways. Travis goes, is that guy okay?
Starting point is 01:04:35 He'd make the theme. Just, oh, no, I think we caught him. A lot of people forget that that's like the tag of that of that story. It's that guy. He did make the team. I don't know. I legitimately don't know if we include that in the social clip, but a lot of people pointed out that Jason started with, we used to have a fullback.
Starting point is 01:04:52 And it's like, yeah. We used to have a fullback. Oh, man. All right. Moving on number 17. this is kind of the culmination of iconic moments on the show. But we had already heard one side of this story, but we needed to get the other side on our show.
Starting point is 01:05:13 So coming in at number 17, this is Taylor talking about her first impression of meeting Jason. I'll always remember meeting you for the first time, Jason. What was that first impression like? Did you know I was told to be on by best behavior? I didn't know what you were told, but I did know that, one of the first things I saw was like, you say to Kylie, I was just shotgunning beers with the
Starting point is 01:05:37 Bill's Mafia and I really want to go through one of the fire tables. Yep. I want to jump through it. I want to jump onto the flaming table. And she goes, okay, can we not do that right now? And since then, I've heard her say that exact thing to your four-year-old about like, Mommy, I want to throw this pudding on the wall. Wouldn't that be fun?
Starting point is 01:06:05 Can we not do it right now? That's a common phrase. And then I swear to God, Jason, you flew through the window at light speed. I've never seen someone so big move so fast. And all of a sudden, like, you're out there in the snow. You're handing me children through the window. I was trying to. That was fully not my best moment.
Starting point is 01:06:26 It was. I think it actually was. She's like Taylor. I was like, you want to see Taylor. I got you. Let's go. Who's kid is that, Jason? Don't know.
Starting point is 01:06:37 Do you know where this kid came from? I think it was your best moment, and I think I'm very lucky to have gotten to see it. This whole series of events that led to us getting to ask these questions is bizarre. We will talk about this moment more in a later clip, but man, whose child is that? Sorry, this is just turning us into laughing about stuff. We've already laughed at. But you enjoy the ride. You guys can enjoy the ride.
Starting point is 01:07:09 Number 16, we are almost at the end of this little countdown here. Number 16 from our season one live show in Kansas City, Jason paying off the Super Bowl bet. Travis and I made a little bet. Just a little one. Just a little one during the playoffs. We got a clip. This video you're about to see has ever been seen. It was made before our recording before the national, the NFC championship game and the AFC championship game.
Starting point is 01:07:36 Let's play it right now. Hey, this is a special video that we're doing. This is before the conference championship week. Travis and I are going to make a bet. We talked about it last week. We talked about doing the Big Yeti into the chest chair. Look at that. One of our fans had a great mention on Twitter that you guys should obviously make the bet whoever makes it further in the playoffs.
Starting point is 01:07:56 The bet is whoever makes it longer. In the playoffs, the other person has to shave his chest, which obviously, if we each win this next game... I want to switch this bet because I don't think it's as fun if you get Big Yeti. It's shaved in your chest. I think it's better. Hear me out on this. If you end up winning the bet, I'll shave Big Yeti in my chest. But if I end up winning and I go further, you have to shave both your beard and your hair.
Starting point is 01:08:23 And let me sign your fucking forehead like a baby. Like a baby. Yeah. You have to turn it to a baby and I sign your forehead. I will shave my hair, but I'm not shaving my beard. Dude, beard and hair. What do you mean? I don't want to shave my beard because I don't like the way my face looks and I'm going to keep my beard.
Starting point is 01:08:48 Is face signing not enough? Having Sharpie on my face with your signature on it is not enough? No, it's not enough. It will make you better if I sit here shirtless with your signature across my chest and a diaper on. All right. You throw the diaper on. It's even. Fair game.
Starting point is 01:09:02 I'm a bearded baby. I was so confident. Bearded baby. I signed the bearded baby. The bed is in. Shake on it. Shake on it. Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you the first ever.
Starting point is 01:09:20 Bearded. I'm about to get punched in the face right now. This is the first time I've ever signed a baby ever in my life. Okay. So this was incredible for several reasons. Go ahead. One is that there was no, like, no one needed to do this. Like, we've recorded this, but we had never published that there was a bet.
Starting point is 01:10:17 No one was, like, calling on Jason to do it. He was like, I got to do it. And then I just vividly remember being backstage at the live show and walking into a room and seeing bald Jason in a diaper before he had put on any of Travis's clothes. And I was like, when he reveals this, people are going to lose their fucking minds. We hadn't done any huge like, I guess we'd never done a live show before. We'd never really done like a big stumpy thing yet on the show. And when he's like, oh, no, like I said it, I have to do it.
Starting point is 01:10:54 I'm going to shave my head put on a diaper. Again, to Jake's point, I was like, you don't have to. We really don't. Like, you don't have to do that. And he goes, oh, no. Oh, no, I have to. And then it's, listen, he's full send all the time. He commits to the bit and the crowd screaming as he does it is incredible.
Starting point is 01:11:17 The fact that it's just, I mean, it's wild. Season one, we had Jason Kelsey in a diaper with a shaved head. It's like, all right, what do you guys want to do next year? And I'm like, I don't fucking know. Like, I cannot imagine what is next after that. Crazy. Anyways. I will say, it was also very funny seeing all the guests who maybe didn't know, like, comment
Starting point is 01:11:37 on Jason's outfit because he had borrowed all of trash. Travis is closed. We all knew those of Travis's clothes when he walked out. We knew what those were. Yes. But he's not on a match. He was rocking like the bucket hat and people were like, nice bucket. And I was like, only you knew me when I first saw.
Starting point is 01:11:52 And I was like, oh, no, no, no, I get what he's doing. I understand. Only you knew. All right. Coming in at number 15. Again, this was like a seminal moment from the show. This is from season one. And this is Travis talking about the Derwin James hit.
Starting point is 01:12:10 Derwin James, man. Ooh. He's an absolute beast on the defensive side. He got a lot of respect for him, both in the past coverage. He had just absolutely thrown his weight around, man. A lot of safeties are out here throwing their weight around, but he's one of the bigger guys that can actually lay the wood, man. Run week later.
Starting point is 01:12:26 How did it feel when Derwin James absolutely, I mean, power bombed the fuck out of you on national television? Well, it's not my first time getting power bombed. But yeah, no, I turned. I made it. cut back and then all of a sudden he is on me like lightning. I mean, he's surprised this shit out of me. Lower man always wins in football.
Starting point is 01:12:47 When I felt him wrap his arms around my legs, I'm chuckling in my mind. I'm like, this is not about to end well for me right now. I'm going up. What goes up must come down. So the thing about this clip is that the episode before this aired, Travis like heaped a bunch of praise on Derwin James. and we had put that clip out, you know, the show was just getting started. I think this was episode two or three when Travis said the nice things about Derwin.
Starting point is 01:13:17 And then the hit happened. And I saw the numbers on that clip go from like a couple hundred thousand views to like millions of views because everyone was like, he said this nice thing. And now he just got like absolutely buried into the earth. And then hearing Travis talk about. Jesus, Jesus, Jay, he's going to hear this. Cut. No, I think it's funny, leave it. He got absolutely fucking destroyed out there.
Starting point is 01:13:45 He got killed. What a fucking. No, this was a moment where, you know, we're still trying to find. You're making me self-conscious about this friend. No, I think we leave it in that. I believe in us talking about it. It's funny. This is a moment where we were still trying to figure out our kind of find our footing with the show and find our audience and who was watching.
Starting point is 01:14:07 And like, it just absolutely. could not have been a more horseshoe in the ass moment that like we set up this thing that almost feels fake when you when you call it back and then I remember after we put out the episode where we talk about it. It was the first time I remember a lot of our clips were being taken and put on like the news. And I remember people texting me for there's something like, hey, is this that thing you're working on? Did you do this? I'm like, yeah, well, I'm not, I'm not Darwin or Travis, but yes, I did do this. I don't know if this clip in particular is in everyone's top 15 favorite clips of all time.
Starting point is 01:14:46 Probably not, but it's a huge, like, it is a cornerstone of like what brought the show to the mat. Like, more people found. I was going to say, I would say it's probably not a top 15 clip, but I would venture that a significant portion of our audience found our show initially because of this one. I think a lot of people said, wait, the Kelsey Brothers doing a podcast? The Kelsey Brothers doing a podcast? Where? And then I think a lot of people found the show because, so I mean, in essence, thank you, German James. Yeah, shout out German James.
Starting point is 01:15:13 We got to get him on the show. I want him to tackle you. Now that's deserved, but. Rounding it out here, number 14, season four from the episode that featured the review, The Life of a Showgirl, or reactions to Life of a Showgirl. This is Jason and his Japanese Made. people. Wood, great, great soundtrack. How do you feel about wood? Let's ask this. How do you feel about wood?
Starting point is 01:15:47 It's a great song. It's a great song. Do you feel like that, do you feel trying to think of the word? Do you feel not confident? Do you feel cocky? Do you feel cocky about the different song would? No. Any song that, you know, she references me in. That's not just any song. It's very like.
Starting point is 01:16:17 This is a very specific you. I love that girl. So what do you mean? Any song that she would reference me in any way. Well, it's not just you though. It's an appendage. It's not just you as a, it's a very specific thing. I think you're not understanding.
Starting point is 01:16:32 song. Jesus Christ, Travis, come on. No way. Redwood tree, ain't hard to see. I thought Redwood was a little bit, you know, that was, that's a generous word, I think. I think if somebody wrote a song about me, it'd be like Japanese maple sometimes can see. Japanese maple. That song's great, though.
Starting point is 01:17:08 The freaking, the beat to that song is fantastic. And that's right up my alley. So, well done. I think it's a great song. There's definitely a lot for Jason to comment on, and I'm here for it. Can't wait for the teasing to begin. Teasing. Can I already get that out of the way.
Starting point is 01:17:22 What would I tease about? His maple tree? The Japanese maple, baby. I have more of an ornamental tree cock. My cock is more of an ornamental bush. There are times where this is an incredibly easy job to have. One of them is putting in this rundown, Jason, what tree are you, and watching magic happen? That is, you don't have to be smart to do this job, folks.
Starting point is 01:17:50 You just have to go, what's the funniest thing I can give this man to do? And boy, did he should put the ball in the tea, let the very talented funny man swing at it. It's, I mean, all-timer. And it led to everybody sending us photos Japanese maples. It led to us people every time there was a, there was a Lego set of a Japanese people of Costco. I've been tagged in that a thousand times. Someone brought a Japanese maple to our live show in Los Angeles.
Starting point is 01:18:17 They brought a live maple to the live show. Yes. I mean, I, I, It's so stupid. Hey, Brandon, what are you? It's the funniest tree to pick, too. It's the funniest tree to pick. it's the funniest tree.
Starting point is 01:18:32 I don't, like, when you go, it's a Japanese people, I don't even know what that means. I am laughing at it, though. For some reason, it's like complicated enough and specific enough that you go, I know exactly what that means, but also your brain does not know a Japanese, like. We literally changed our like social headers to, because of this.
Starting point is 01:18:48 We did. We did. We did. I think, I think we're, like, the joke is done. Well, it's not done. You can still bring us Japanese maple time of time. Yeah. I also like when we, we make,
Starting point is 01:18:57 uh, I like when james. Jason does something on our show that Kylie has to address. That's a very funny. Oh, and she made her bio big fan of Japanese maples. I was like, oh, it's a family affair. I just know that as soon as we put those clips out of the episode airs, I can tell that her phone probably erupted with like,
Starting point is 01:19:16 did you see what? And it's like, motherfucker. Anyways, that has been this episode of the 92 clips countdown. Thank you guys for listening.
