Starting point is 00:00:00 Any baby yet? Any baby yet? Any baby? In the last like 45 minutes that we've been recording this episode, no, no baby yet. Have you practiced your coaching? We have practiced, you know, like... Do you remember the Jason method? The Jason method? You got to lift them up. Lift them up.
Starting point is 00:00:14 That's what him and Kylie said is like the Jason birthing help method is to like lift up. Welcome back to another preseason episode of New Heights. We are still counting down the top 92 moments of New Heights. ever. This is the last version. This is the last episode of it. We got it. We're here at the end. The final installment. This is the final 13. I of course, I'm Brandon. It's still very weird to say my own name out loud. And that's Jake. Jake, hello. Hello. How you doing Brandon? We'll get to count down these top 13 clips starting with number 13. This is from season one. This is Jason Kelsey reviewing Twilight. That's Travis was getting out of the house. I was stuck in the house. I don't know if you know this, Travis. But Canada has been a blaze. And... Unfortunate, man.
Starting point is 00:01:00 So I had to figure out something to do all day. Trabb, do you like to take a guess what I did all day? I'm going to take a guess that you... I don't know. What you do? I watched the Twilight series. It's absolutely terrible. Starts out like all these teenage love stories do.
Starting point is 00:01:22 You know, high school girl falls in love with a hundred and nine-year-old vampire who still looks like an 18-year-old and nobody asks questions about that. So that guy's name's Edward, and the woman's name is Bella. Are you team Edward or Team Jacob? I'm team. This movie shouldn't exist. So she falls in love with Edward. Dude, come on.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Who's a vampire. We don't need to go over your recap and your summary on it. Of other vampires that have been around for a long time named the Cullins. And she has a thing for them, and that goes back and forth. You should have just went outside and breathed in all that smoke, man. And then the second movie happens. You find out that there's werewolves in this movie out of nowhere. So in the second movie, Bella really still loves Edward, but she starts leading this guy, Jacob on.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Like, he's got some chance, and he doesn't fucking stand a chance. Flash forward to the final movie. And Bella gets pregnant. Bella gets pregnant. Just call me whenever you're ready. Oh, so I forgot to make. These vampires also have powers. So outside of being your typical vampal.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Vampires. Each one has like a special power. So then they let Bella and the half man, half vampire baby live. And that's Twilight. This is an absolutely unplanned moment in the show. Yeah. This was during the off season of season one. And Jason, I believe, have been stuck in the house due to weather or something going on in
Starting point is 00:02:47 Philadelphia. And he called me and said, what are we talking on on the show this week? And I kind of talked to me some stuff. And he goes, well, I watched all of the Twilight movies. Should we talk about that? And I said, you know what? I said, I watched them, all of them. And I'm like, why?
Starting point is 00:03:02 He's like, well, I'm stuck in the house. And I'd never seen him. So I watched all the twilight lights. It was like, Jason, the only thing we're going to do this week is give your take on all of the twilight movies. So please, by all means. And then we started talking about like, yeah, it is kind of weird that Edward's like, hundreds of year old still hanging out in high school. I remember, it was like, yeah, it is.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Wait, hold on. This is a weirder movie than we thought. No, fantastic. Fantastic. I will say incredible clip, incredible review by Jason. This is what spawned New Heights Film Club. The spawned film club. We knew he had a viewer's heart.
Starting point is 00:03:37 All of this has made so much better by Travis taking off the headphones and just checking in periodic. Incredible bit. Jason going to as much detail as possible. When Travis says, stop, do not listen to him. Keep going. Keep talking. Keep going. Breaking Dawn. What do you got? What do you think about the weird baby doll? What do you think about that?
Starting point is 00:04:00 Renezmae, what's your thoughts? Fantastic moment. Also, we put out the extended cut, which was like eight minutes long or something like that. I think when we were recording, he talked about it for like 25 minutes. Well, I think it felt like it. I don't know if it was much longer. Yeah, it felt like a hour and a half. Yeah. It was insane. All right, moving on to number 12. This is a little bit of a sentimental moment, but an important one. This is Travis talking about Jason after Jason's retirement. We did not talk about much of your retirement, and I wanted to make sure that you didn't feel any pressure from me to keep going, knowing I wanted you to keep going.
Starting point is 00:04:38 I wanted you to keep playing this game. Why didn't you tell me this? I would have changed my mind. No, no, no. I didn't, I'd, you've always been a step ahead of me in this game. Yeah, but it's in this game alone, you've always been a step ahead of me.
Starting point is 00:04:54 And it's always been like I've had that float device right there. And it's to have you out of it, man, it feels it feels empty. And it definitely it feels like it's a
Starting point is 00:05:12 it's complete, you know. It's, it was a success. I hear you. Yeah. It was a fun-ass journey to watch. And like I said yesterday, man, I just appreciate you showing me the way and bringing us all along the journey with you.
Starting point is 00:05:40 We showed each other the way. I think it's, I appreciate it. Listen, I'm out of playing, but I'm still going to be, you know, I'm still going to the games. Like I said, you know, you've been playing for a long time on your own. And I look forward to being able to appreciate and watch your games more and take in the bigger picture of football and everything that it has to offer. while still remaining local in Philadelphia, like I'll never not be there, but definitely looking forward to,
Starting point is 00:06:12 I don't know, it's a different chapter. And in some ways, I'll be able to experience more things and do things that I've never done before, which is exciting. Well, it was just, it was cool being the tag team. Hey! The National Football League.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Pretty cool shit. Um, yeah, I didn't talk to you about it. Um, I let you kind of do your own thing. And I, um, I could have been more proud listening to you yesterday. And it's just, um, it's been a, it's been a lot of, a lot of emotions, a lot of sad emotions, a lot of exciting emotions. I mean, you got the, you got the fucking world in, in your palm right now, dude. And, um, you got three little ones that I know you're, you're dying to watch grow up. And, oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:57 It's, uh, it's just, a lot of, a lot of, uh, a lot of, a lot of future. exciting future things that we have to look forward to. Absolutely. Yeah, it's, uh, yeah. So back to the speech. Can I see, yeah, can I see the clean ice real quick so I can just get over this thing. I'm sorry, I would be crying more, but I wasted all of my tears. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:21 But you know, I got plenty of those. I'll probably break down here at some point. You hit the intensity of the Philly fans, man. It was awesome. You hit it spot on. You've been spot on with it your entire career. Here in Bernstein, Jason, your guy, I tell you that Philly is an awesome city. You're going to love it.
Starting point is 00:07:42 You embodied that place before you even knew you embodied it. And your toughness, your desire for excellence, your drive to be the best and not settle for anything. Other than that, the way you talked about the Philly fan base was so spot on. Man, honestly, being here in Philly, for the past 13 years, I feel like I've become a part of this sports town so random. I was a huge Flyers fan growing up because of Eric Lindross and John LeClair. And for you to come in here and become idols like that for kids has been pretty damn cool. Did you always want to make the announcement alongside the Eagles organization? Was that kind of like in your mind to like stay affiliate?
Starting point is 00:08:30 Philadelphia Eagle your entire career? Well, yeah, and you want to. I mean, I've been very blessed to have that opportunity. I've even talked about it in the speech that almost didn't happen, right? Yeah. There's so many things that need to go right for you to stay in one spot. You know, the organization has to want you. Financially, it has to work out.
Starting point is 00:08:48 And you've got to want to continue to play in the same spot. And I think it's really hard to do in any sport in today's age. Like, it just is very rare that both of those sides. and the financial thing line up for your whole career. Yeah. So it was a goal, you know, I talked about it. You know, we saw everybody leave in Cleveland. Did Big Z ever play anywhere else?
Starting point is 00:09:10 That's the only guy that I did. Drunis. The Drunis might have been the only one. He's the only one. You know, it's not like, listen, I still love Jim Tomey. I love Manny and all the guys that played in Cleveland. But it's, you know, it's, there's something that happens when somebody leaves that I think, especially as a kid, you, it's awkward or different rock,
Starting point is 00:09:30 wrapping your head around it. And, you know, I've been very lucky and fortunate to stay in Philadelphia. And it was certainly a goal. And I'm happy that it happened. Was there any other way that you were going to do this announcement? Like, were you going to, like, jumping through the table? Were you just about to be, all right, I'm done? And then just, like, jump on the burning table?
Starting point is 00:09:48 No. Did it ever cross your mind you were going to do it any other way? No, I think I wanted to do it at the facility in a press conference with people in the organization there. I think that felt right. There's too many of those people that were a part of it just as much as I was. So yeah, that was the only way I ever envisioned it. Well, you talked about some of your favorite moments in your speech, obviously, and you had some great shout-outs to the 879, your own speech.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Coach Siriani sending you the kegs and, of course, Nikki Foles and the Philly Special. Did you ever, do you think that any other retirement speech, past or present, will ever mention the teammates? Shlong. How should we put this? Hammer. Sausage. I mean, I hope not.
Starting point is 00:10:36 I hope it doesn't become like commonplace that everybody's just referencing this. He's got the biggest day. How can I thank them? It's just so legendary. I felt like it needed to be a part of it. Yeah. Dude, it was so perfect because it was, obviously, it was very emotional. You do a great job of keeping things light and fun.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Yeah. That was such a good fucking line. Mix in some moments where people can have a laugh here in there. Got to. Yeah, I mean, listen, that was an iconic moment of the Super Bowl. Yeah, real funny one here, Jake. I said it wasn't funny. This is, to me, you know, we ranked this really high for us because it's one of those things when we first started doing the show, we knew was probably on the horizon and would get there when we got there. But to get to have this moment on the show, share with people is one of the things that, again, when we started this, you hope that you get to this moment and
Starting point is 00:11:26 it is sort of the joyous, you know, sad celebration that it is. But I really enjoyed getting to be there for this moment. It means a lot to all of us that they have this show and platform as a way to share stuff like this with everybody. Yeah. And I think I was expecting like two very emotional brothers. I think Jason might have been emotioned out from doing his speech the day before. But, you know, I'm sure they would have, they've talked a million times about all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:11:52 But having Travis have the moment to just share what like, his brother paving the way meant for him. I'm sure they would have had that conversation, but I think teeing him up to just be like, what are your thoughts right now? Like, I don't know that he would have expressed them all at the same time directly to Jason, you know, if it wasn't for him needing to do for the show.
Starting point is 00:12:14 And, like, I think him willing to be, like, vulnerable enough to, like, share all of his feelings in a place where everyone could see it. I think it's at the end of the day, you know, what the show is about. It's about the relationship between the two of them at its core. And I think this was the quintessential example. Ooh, I think it's the second best example.
Starting point is 00:12:35 It's the second best example, but we're getting to the best one. We'll get there. No, it's one of the best, like, you know, the show. We try to always keep the relationship, the brotherhood sort of forefront. And this is a moment that got to shine. And I think it's very special. Moving on to something a little more lighthearted. This is from the Kylie episode that helps kick off season two.
Starting point is 00:12:55 this is Kylie's version of Jason and her first date. What was your tender picture? Well, there was a bunch of them. There was like four of them. Yeah, what was your first one? I think it was for me on the sideline looking up. No, it was. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:13:10 No, it wasn't. Here's the problem. You were Eagles. I said, I am Jason Kelsey, legendary Philadelphia Eagle Center. Swipe right if you're into the Eagles. Oh, my God. Kylie, you fell for that. No, he didn't.
Starting point is 00:13:25 You want to know the best part? Everyone did. So on Tinder, he was such an ass. Go ahead, Guy. Go ahead, Kai. I found out years later that he thought that there was evidence in his profile, that he played for the Eagles.
Starting point is 00:13:45 And he said, he mentioned something about, well, there was a picture of a TV screen. Yeah. On a game, I guess it's one. when he was injured or maybe a preseason. And it was, it was part of his profile. And I said there was no picture of you. There was no picture of a TV screen.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Needless to say, it was cropped to fit Tinder. And so the only thing you could see was his face. Yeah. So you couldn't see the lower thirds. You couldn't see the ticker. You couldn't see any of the graphics. All you could see. You couldn't see the Eagle.
Starting point is 00:14:25 emblem on his shirt. All you can see was an athletic issued shirt on a sideline with a bunch of other people. You're such a little. It was so discreet. It's a beautiful love story. It's the start of a beautiful love story. Yeah. I got to get back on Tinder and show a preseason sideline pick of me. You think, Guy, you think I should go stash or no stash? You think they recognize this is a good question. They probably would. They probably think I was like an equipment manager if I just had the stash on it. For a Tinder, Tender bio, are you pro-stash or not pro-stash, anti-stash? I'm going to... You hear that?
Starting point is 00:15:02 This is... I heard it the other day if you could... This is going to sound a little harsh, but I think you should do the mustache because if they'd swipe right at your worst, then they'll love you at your best. Oh, there you go. That's good thinking. That doesn't even hurt my feelings. This is smart.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Okay. Yeah. This is genius. Get those expectations down. Yeah, said him low. Set him low. So when did you find out that the guy you fell in love with on Twitter was a Neanderthal and just an absolute disgusting human being? I mean, I think I told her about it right away.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Oh, you was in your, he was in your Tinder profile? It wasn't in the profile, but it was definitely communicating. Well, his profile at the time was something to the effect of I want to have deep, meaningful conversations and talk about getting married and having kids or something like that. jokes on him who got the last laugh it was pretty evident when the first time well I shouldn't say the first time the second time that we hung out what happened the first time we fell asleep 45 minutes after I got there on the bar table because he was too drunk and not a good first date and then bow Allen accomplished the most impressive physical feat of his life when he fireman carried Jason back to his apartment. I can see Bo doing that. Honey Bobo. Shout out to Honey Bobo. Exactly. He emphasized that
Starting point is 00:16:28 someone who's dead weight is difficult to carry, but Jason fought him the whole way. It's even harder than dead weight. It was anti. Physically fought him the entire way. You're making me look stupid in front of this girl. Yeah, I was wiggling free. I was making it difficult for him. It became a challenge halfway too. But yeah, definitely fell asleep, got a little bit too inebriated. But I was, I was sober. enough to know was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my life. It was love at first sight. He doesn't even believe in love at first sight.
Starting point is 00:17:00 I didn't until I met you. And it was like fireworks exploded at the door. The moment you walk through the door, Buffalo billiards. I want to feel those fireworks. It was like, you know, like when a movie has like an angel walk through doors and it's like there's only like one light on that person? That's what happened. I've always wanted that to happen.
Starting point is 00:17:20 It was like I was in a movie. for a split second. And now you guys made a movie about yourselves. He's so full of it. I'm not making any of this up. You just built up watching the documentary even more. Second date went much better. I didn't black out or fall asleep.
Starting point is 00:17:36 I'm not going to lie. Picturing you with with angel wings right now is pretty cool. Yeah, the second time. She didn't have wings. Oh, like an angel. It was like an angel in a scene where the light is like only on that person. Oh, okay, okay, okay. It wasn't.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Have you ever seen 20s? That's not what he experienced. It was like when the vampires go into the sun and twilight. Kai, when you saw him, your kind of your world got dark and you were like, I don't know if I like this. No, I saw him and I thought to myself, you're wearing plaid and really leaning into the lumberjack thing. He, when we first met, he had the man bun still, a full beard. Ooh. He still had the man bun.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Lumberjack with a man bun? See, the man bun was helpful. in the early stages of our relationship because I could tell when he, no, I could tell when he was blacked out because he would send me a selfie and his hair would be down. As soon as I got a selfie with his hair down, I was like, I'll talk to you tomorrow. I mean, really shout out, Bo Allen. I was just about to say shout out, honey, Bobo. Kind of the unsung MVP of, I mean, okay, again, the little domino that starts the larger one is
Starting point is 00:18:45 Bo Allen carrying Jason out of that bar leads to like where we are now. I mean, it's just like, wow, that he's the butterfly. Bo Allen is the butterfly effect of all of our lives. Just an incredible, incredible story. I'm glad. I'm glad they went on a second date and Kylie gave him another shot after that. I'm glad you gave him a second chance at this. But just an incredible, incredible story.
Starting point is 00:19:10 You want to keep it going on number 10? We're in the top 10 now. Jesus. Officially in the top 10. This is an undisputed top 10 moment. And it is Jason and Travis talking about Travis scoring touchdowns and Jason celebrating in the suite. And if I take my shirt off, then I'm outside and I'm part of the Buffalo Bill's pageantry. And it just, dude, it was something about the entire day.
Starting point is 00:19:38 I got caught up in the magic of Bill's Mafia. It is, it is electric. Everybody's, the energy, the shenanigans. and I'm like, I got to have my shirt off at some point. And I didn't get to do it beforehand. And I'm like, okay, well, I guess, and I can't just take my shirt off in the box. Like, who takes your shirt off on a box? It's heated.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Like, you're not really doing it. Now you're just having your shirt off. Yeah. Of course. Yeah. Real cool. So I'm like, you're what I'm going to do. I'm taking my shirt off and I'm jumping out of this box.
Starting point is 00:20:10 So then I'm out of the box and I have my shirt off. And then I can be like my Buffalo Bill's Mafia. like compadres. I had no idea. This is how my mind works after 40 Miller lights. I had to shout of who knows what the fuck out of the bowling ball. That's right. That's right.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Well, let's get to more of you during the game. You celebrated my touchdown by taking off your shirt, screaming, jumping out of the suite, chucking a beer with the fans, then jumping back into the suite. It's correct. This is all accurate. I watched this and it was pure pandemonium. Just pandemonium.
Starting point is 00:20:45 just confusion of who to cheer for. It was a chief's touchdown, but it looked like Bill's. There's a lot of booze. There's a lot of booze. There's a lot of cheers, though, too. I think, I don't know, man. Tell you what, man, if you don't run for president, this all is just going to go to waste. This is all just, it looks like a political campaign.
Starting point is 00:21:05 You're just letting them in. Stop, stop, one person at a time. There's nothing political about this. This is just a man in his elements with his Bill's Mafia compadres enjoying the dead of winter. That's what this is. I wish I would have stayed out there longer to just in to actually get my nipples hard enough. You know what I mean? I didn't,
Starting point is 00:21:21 I wasn't out there long enough to really even get your thermostats. Your thermostats could gauge how cold. My thermostat didn't regulate to the temperature. They never got there. They kind of got shocked and just could. Yeah. It was just a shock to the system. It was nice.
Starting point is 00:21:35 I'll tell you what, I jumped out of that box and I forgot that I've been dealing with an MCL sprain because the moment I landed my right foot and my knee twisted and luckily it's good. It's good. It did slip a little bit. Forgot that knee was a little loose. So it's good old, this good old fucking hardworking construction boots you had on. Tim's got the butters on.
Starting point is 00:21:57 Them butters got some things. Saved the day. There was not enough cameras on the suite where you could see Kylie, though. I wanted to see her reaction to all of this so bad. Yeah. I don't think she was happy about it, to be honest with you. There was one picture and it was her kind of smiling and laughing at it. and kind of for it.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Like, yeah, there's Jason. I just know it was like that scene out of fucking, uh, I'm not gonna lie. I gave Kylie a heads up. The moment we got into the suite,
Starting point is 00:22:24 I said, I'm taking my shirt off and I'm jumping out of that suite. And she said, Jason, she said, Jason, don't you dare. See,
Starting point is 00:22:32 I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking it's like that, I'm not asking for permission. I'm doing this. Once a Kelsey man's determined, there's no fucking stopping them. And she was already telling me to be on my best behavior because we were
Starting point is 00:22:43 meeting Taylor. So she's like, do not. beyond your best behavior. I was like, Kylie, when I met you, the first day I met you I was blacked out drunk
Starting point is 00:22:49 and fell asleep at the bar. This is part of the charm. This is part of the Jason Gelsie charm. I want to make my best first impression. I want to make my best first impression. This is my best chance. My best first impression is the worst impression ever, so I can just build from that point.
Starting point is 00:23:08 I'm right. Exactly. That was classic. Oh, man. Well, Tay says she absolutely loved you. Well, I felt like it was a scene out of old school where Will Ferrell's fucking running. Dude, I got so many of those gyms. We're going streaking.
Starting point is 00:23:26 It's like, who? We're all going down to the quad. It's like, Frank, you and who? There's more coming. Frank, get in the fucking car now. If some of these Bill's Mafia would have said we're going streaking, I would have, I was full in on the Bill's Mafia. I would have been right there with him. You would have been running down the second block like Blink 182.
Starting point is 00:23:48 All the small things. I just, I don't know. I just got so caught up in everything. It's mesmerizing. So yeah. Do you want to know anything else? It's pretty much it. She left me roses.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Yeah, that's all I got. Dude, honestly, I might get a picture. This picture, I might get this picture. Painted. Which one? The one of you screaming out of the suite with a Miller light in your hand. I said a little bat blue My bad a little bat blue
Starting point is 00:24:18 I think that's part of the issue too I was drinking one beer predominantly at the big tree in and then you know like when you switch from dark to browns and stuff like that yeah it's not no you're right it's ridiculous light beers are all the same
Starting point is 00:24:29 light beers are all this you're a Kelsey you're a Kelsey that type of shit doesn't affect you I know yeah dude that picture is I mean everybody's saying put that thing in the Louvre I honestly I might get somebody to fucking make that portrait that is epic in a moment that I'll never forget man um and I didn't even see it till
Starting point is 00:24:49 afterwards I uh I really I obviously saw all of this after the game and I'm going uh yeah going viral yeah I saw everything I was asked about it on the field and I'm like I have no idea what my brother has been doing all game and um the reporter told me I was just like yeah I don't know you put us you put us Lake Erie guys up by Lake Erie and there's just something That was another bit of it, dude. We drove past Lake Erie in the dead of winter. Dude. And it was like,
Starting point is 00:25:17 they built it up for you. Guarantee. I'm back at the shores of where I grew up. I felt like that when we landed in Buffalo. I was like, God, I kind of feel like I'm back in Cleveland a little bit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Something about that lake, man. Yeah. Well, shout out to Buffalo, man. You have to see some tweets that came out of this entire fiasco. The Feast of Bacus by Phillips de Conique? Connick. I ever you want to say it.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Back in 19 or 1654, it looks like you got some chubby little fat guy doing these similar pose. I mean, the resemblance is uncanny. It's uncanny. It's pretty good. It's a pretty good side by side.
Starting point is 00:25:58 So apparently it's not the first person to do this. Exactly. You're not the first person to show your boobs. All right. Now, well, after the game, you tweeted an amazing quote from Ellie after she saw you on TV.
Starting point is 00:26:14 I'm assuming this is a text from Lisa to Kylie. Kylie's mom. Yep, Lee's. Shout out to Little Lee. Yeah. Yeah, Lee sent that text to Kai and Kai showed me and I immediately thought it was hilarious. Dad's got his boobs out. Hey, snow's out. Tits out. That's the mom you got to live out. So this is the other half of the story
Starting point is 00:26:40 we were talking about earlier where Jake Jason first met Taylor. We said we'd get to this. In last episode. Maybe one of the most surreal thing. I mean, again, this is probably an all-time moment in New Heights Slack history is Jason appearing shirtless and jumping out of that suite. And I mean, if you watch that clip, he is dangerously close to eating shit.
Starting point is 00:26:59 He's stuck that landing, but it is not. There's a little moment where you think that one foot's going. But, I mean, I was watching this game at home. This happened right before halftime. And it goes to the half. the TV networks like you always do the, you know, the package of like recap, the quick recap of the half, whatever, and ends on shirtless Jason. So shirtless Jason is on my TV and then my phone rings and it's Jason.
Starting point is 00:27:22 So I'm looking at Jason on TV. I'm looking at Jason on the phone. I'm like, oh, this is a weird phone call to get at this point. So I answer it. And Jason is on the internet and he's like, hey, man, am I doing too much? Nope, you're perfect. No. No, I said you did.
Starting point is 00:27:40 I, truthful conversation. I said, you did that exact right time. Let's get that shirt back on. It's a little close game. Let's not jinx it. Let's get that shirt back on. And I pitched him this and he was rightfully non-receptive to it. I said, if they win, though, pants off.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Yeah. I try. I was like, let's go amp it up. If they pants off, they went. No, this is an all-time moment. And one of the more absurd things that, you know, there's like moments where you get really excited on a Sunday or Monday because you're about to talk on Tuesday about stuff.
Starting point is 00:28:07 This is probably one of the most excited I've been. To be like, for sure. So what's, what was that about? To get the confirmation that, because we were like, oh, yeah, like, they're all hanging out. They're in the suite. Taylor's in the suite. Like, all that makes sense. But to get the confirmation that they had never met before.
Starting point is 00:28:25 It was really good. Really good wrinkle to the story that I actually didn't know until he told it. I was like, oh, wait, you did that. That's day one? You ought to set the tone. Keeping it moving to number nine. Man, season two. Standout Travis moment here.
Starting point is 00:28:40 This is jeans for Jason. Let's move on as Kelsey Premier. Hey. How was it, brother? It was actually pretty cool. Really enjoyed it. We had a picture of you on the green carpet, not the red carpet. You really got dressed up.
Starting point is 00:28:53 I was going to have jeans on, but Kylie. Kylie was running late. Ice came straight from football. Kyle was going to bring the jeans. Kylie was late. Why didn't Jason bring jeans for Jason? Because I was at football. And I needed the jeans for after football.
Starting point is 00:29:09 And I'm not going to wear jeans all. day. That's just not done sound fun. All right, I'm realizing now I probably can't blame Kylie for this. Anyway, so, yeah, I wore shorts and sandals. She was too busy putting jeans on the three girls. Yeah, she was too busy getting the entire family situated with the babysitter and then getting herself ready and making sure her parents are with her. I can't just see you pulling up.
Starting point is 00:29:34 You don't have my jeans? I'm going to look like an idiot. Gosh. So true. So true. This is so great because I was following along with Jason and I was like, yeah, okay, got it, got it, got it. And then as soon as Travis said, why I was like, why didn't you pack your own bag? Oh, he was getting the four children ready.
Starting point is 00:29:57 She didn't have time to pack your clothes. Oh, when you put it that way. Yeah, this makes no fucking sense. We still get a lot of like blank for Jason comments on everything. I think Kylie does too. still a lot of like, oh, who did blank readers? It's, I mean, jeans for Jason is an incredible turn of phrase. Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Why did Jason bring jeans for Jason is an incredible turn of phrase that it just, it just bounces around your brain. Also, shout out, because it wasn't me, but I've since co-opted it. The first person to comment, why didn't Kylie bring jeans for Kylie under whenever someone says that the kids all look like Jason and they spell jeans? That's great. Yes. That's a great joke. Great joke. We love that. We love that. And keep commenting that. All right. Coming in at number eight, I mean, there are so many moments from this night, but I think, you know, the pan of them dancing and then the reaction to it.
Starting point is 00:30:57 This is the guys talking about the post-Vegis Super Bowl celebration. From Rue 99 on Club 92, how electric was the Super Bowl after party? Nobody parties better than Jason. Kelsey. Leuch. It was electric. Having my big brother around. Dude. It really didn't start getting to the next level until I found that luchador mask.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Because initially when I first got there, you were trying to get me to go up on the stage of you and I'm like, no, I'm going to be over here. This is your guy's time. Which I respect. There's something about finding that luchador mask that really just transformed the night. It really did. For everyone. It was insane.
Starting point is 00:31:37 The belly dance where it was just like the bobbing up. and dying. Going with the motion. Letting the belly take control. The one video of them showing me and Taylor and then panning to you and marshmallow. It's a very strong dichotomy of just two different worlds. Two people in love and enjoying the moment together, panning to a complete Neanderthal
Starting point is 00:32:03 who is no longer connected with modern day society. It looked like you had marshmallow were a tag team, dude. Found the mask on the dance floor. Stop. First after-party spot. Did you at least like just give it a quick rinse under the sink? No. Where was I going to rinse it off, Travis?
Starting point is 00:32:18 In the bathroom? Just did it just say. You see a luchador mask. You don't ask questions. I for sure thought I was getting pink eye. There's no chance I thought I was getting out of that mask without having pink eye. This was. God damn it.
Starting point is 00:32:29 This is every time I watched him like dance and clap. He's like kind of in rhythm, kind of not. But like he's like he's making it up. It's on. It's fine. This is one of those things where, you know, we follow along everywhere online as things are happening. And this is one of those nights where things just kept popping up on my timeline of Jason
Starting point is 00:32:49 doing things. Where I was like, I didn't expect any of this. I don't know where he got a luch door mask. I don't know how he got in the DJ booth. I don't know how he got home. I don't know. It is,
Starting point is 00:33:03 we are having as much fun as you guys are keeping track of this as it's happening. And it is again, one of those ones we're like, I cannot wait to talk to you whenever you come around to speak about like hey man would you get up to in Vegas we also I mean you and I were in Vegas for this Super Bowl shout out Vegas Super Bowl awesome Super Bowl sorry Niners fans it was very cool for this Super Bowl that like the entire pod was united behind rooting for the chiefs yeah they pulled it off that was why have we ever had a issue come up when we were like split or
Starting point is 00:33:32 something has anything come up you hmm do we want to declare Vegas as so far the best Super Bowl city we've been to. Yes. I think it might win. I really love New Orleans, but Vegas just kind of was set up a little easier. I love New Orleans, though, but I'd rather go to New Orleans, but it's not Super Bowl. Vegas was by far my favorite Super Bowl city. A, there was so much shit to do everywhere, but navigating the city during Super Bowl week was like incredibly easy for how much of a circus. It's a straight line. And there's hotels for everybody. All right. Number seven, this is maybe, maybe the best guest story ever told on the show. It is again from the Pat Mahomes episode.
Starting point is 00:34:14 This is Travis and Pat's moment they became best friends. What were your honest first impressions of Travis? And vice versa. How did this bromance come together? Should I tell them the story, dude? That's your call, man. That's my call. It's a bad look on me.
Starting point is 00:34:32 But so obviously I get here at the beginning of the year. And I'm still a rookie. So, you know, I'm just kind of going through. the motion trying to figure out the best way to kind of fit in. And I think the first time that I thought, I was like, me and Travis were going to be, we're going to be connected throughout this, my entire career was, you remember when we had the fourth preseason game, we used to have a little off time. You had like a little weekend. You played on Thursday. Well, you know, Coach, Coach Reed always would give you the walkthrough the day before the actual walkthrough. And me being a kid fresh out of
Starting point is 00:35:05 college, I had a couple buddies that were rookies with me. And they were like, Let's go out Saturday, man. Let's go out. We'll have the walkthrough on Sunday. We're done with preseason. Just got back from St. Joe's. We had a great preseason. So we go out and Coach Rita told us the next day at like 8 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:35:20 We're going to have a 15-minute walkthrough done. That's all you have on Sunday. So I set eight alarms on my phone. I have them all. I go out with the rookies. Of course, I get out there and I see old Travis Kelsey out at the same spot as I'm at. And I'm like, hey, Travis, Travis like, come on. All you all come over here to.
Starting point is 00:35:38 Let's do this. Let's have a great time. So I have a great night. Get home. Have all my alarm set. I made sure of that. Go to sleep. Wake up.
Starting point is 00:35:48 Not to an alarm. Wake up. Look at the TV. And I see 8.15 on my TV screen on the resting thing. I didn't put my phone in the charger. So my phone died. I've done that. A rookie mistake.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Too many times. And so drive to, so obviously drove to the facility extremely fast. dangerous. You can't overlook that initial, that initial feeling of understanding that you're not going to make it there on time is the most like, no, no, no, no, no, no, this isn't happening.
Starting point is 00:36:21 This isn't happening. Am I dreaming? And then immediately you just start telling yourself how uselessly, you stupid, how could you do this? You suck. You're idiot. You're so unaccountable, man.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Get it together, man. And then to complete the story, I get there. and I get to the facility, and they're already in the walkthrough, obviously, already going. And I walk up to the door and, like, how the Chiefs facility is built, though defense does it on the first side of the field
Starting point is 00:36:48 and the offense is on the other side. And I was like, there is no chance. I'm walking through the defense late to get to the offense side of the walkthrough. I ain't going out there. Meanwhile, we're playing the Super Bowl champs, the Patriots, like, on opening night that week. And so I sit in the locker room, and I'm just sitting there shaking my head,
Starting point is 00:37:07 and they call me up to the office, I'm getting like the Macs fine, all this different stuff, feel like an idiot. And I just, I thought it was so weird that the first question they asked me was, were you with Travis? And I was like, no, no, not at all. Why would you even ask that? And long story short, Travis was also late. He got there five minutes before me. Oh, fuck, dude.
Starting point is 00:37:30 So he was in here. Dude, I'm coming into the building like, fuck, man. I can't believe I fucking screwed this up again, man. because I'm not going to say I'm notorious for late, but I screwed up a few times before and have been late. So I'm in my head about it. I'm like, man, Coach Reed is going to kill me, man. I can't even look at this guy in his eyes.
Starting point is 00:37:47 I'm going to just be looking down at the ground while he tells me I'm the worst teammate ever, man. And I walk into the building and they're like, were you with Pat last night? Where's Pat at? I was just like, my dog, man. I'm not alone. Let's go, man. At that point, and I knew we were teammates, man.
Starting point is 00:38:07 I knew that guy was going to win a Super Bowl. I will say, since then, though, I believe me and Travis have never been late again. So we have been on the straight and arrow since then. So I won't be late again. I don't know about Travis. I can't. I don't think Coach Reed will stand me ever being late again. So I have to make sure I'd get my ass up and go on early, man.
Starting point is 00:38:31 I don't have a lot to say about this other than it's, it's like extremely relatable. Extremel relatable. Well, my phone's always charged. You've never thought your phone was plugged into the charger? Nope. Liar. I'm dead serious. I've never had this problem. If my phone doesn't make into the charger, I know I've had a decent evening. But typically, those are not right before I have to get up at an alarm time. Fair.
Starting point is 00:39:00 No, this is a great story. And, you know, the Pat Travis relationship is always one. I like just hearing anytime they talk about hanging out of each other is very funny. And like, I do think getting in trouble with your boys is how you bond the best. Oh, for sure. I think that's that's the number one way to bond is like, okay, we went through the trenches together of being 15 minutes like for practice. You can tell that they're genuinely like best friends off the field. Even like without having heard this story, but hearing how it all started is a very cool
Starting point is 00:39:29 peek behind the curtain into how those. I do them describing having to walk through like the stretching line. is like, I have been late to things. I'm late often, but I've never been late in front of like an entire NFL team. I'm sure that sucks. All right. Coming in at number six, this clip may not be everyone's favorite, but it's important for us.
Starting point is 00:39:49 And it is from the first ever episode we've ever recorded. This is Jason and Travis arguing which Super Bowl win was better, Super Bowl 52 or Super Bowl 54. Which Super Bowl ring is more epic? Eagles Super Bowl 52 or Chief Super Bowl 54? The Eagles was just, everybody saw it coming. Everybody saw it coming. Nobody saw it coming.
Starting point is 00:40:11 There's the first team to ever win a Super Bowl when Vegas thought they were going to lose. We were getting points every game. I was trailing every single game of the playoffs by at least 21 points. It was crazy. Every single game. I lied. Only like two. Super Bowl 52 was an embodiment of the city of Philadelphia.
Starting point is 00:40:29 It was like a team that was possessed by its inhabitants. an underdog city came out of nowhere and won a fucking Super Bowl for the first time in its existence. This isn't even fucking close. I feel embarrassed that we're even talking about this. You beat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. This only head up you got on this, man. Listen, Travis, you're going to go in the Hall of Fame. You have more Pro Bowls.
Starting point is 00:40:48 You have more all pros. Let me have the Super Bowl. Okay? Just stop being selfish. All right. You better looking. Let me have one goddamn thing, please. You mother.
Starting point is 00:40:58 So my little behind the scene story of this is the first. first ever clip we ever posted from New Heights. It is, isn't it? It is the first ever clip. Yeah. We fired it off at like nine o'clock p.m. Pacific, like not the most socially optimized content strategy. Well, that whole episode just sort of showed up online and we like, we're like, should we tell people?
Starting point is 00:41:23 We were like, we have to tell people. It's out. Should we? Who do we tell? We posted the clip somewhat like in the middle of the night, midnight east coast or whatever. It was the worst time to release a podcast. Ever.
Starting point is 00:41:36 And I woke up the next morning and the clip had three million views. And I was like, holy shit. That was the first real momentum gaining clip from the show or moment from the show. I remember putting it together that first like rundown. And it really was that first run. It was like 12 questions. 12 questions. It was straight up just 12 questions.
Starting point is 00:41:55 And we put the Super Bowl thing in there being like, I don't know. Let's see if they fight about it. And there we go. That whole first episode was like, you know, in Jurassic Park when the Velocon, rafters like testing the fences. I felt like that's all we were doing. It was just like, do they fight about this? This is interesting.
Starting point is 00:42:07 Is this good? Is this good? Is this good? Again, I think I said this in a previous episode where, you know, I wanted the first clip to be the bull testicles was voted against to have it be this one, which makes more sense in theory is football show. Understand. Understood.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Still not wrong. Maybe I'll repost the bull testicle clip soon. Yeah. Launch that one back. Let's get those numbers on the bull testicles clip. People prove me right. No, this was a great moment from that first episode. And it's very funny to think about.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Yeah, remember when we just only had twos your bulls talk about? That is, that is nuts. We couldn't do, we had to get this question out of the way quick. We didn't know. We didn't know. We didn't know. We didn't know. And wait, we concluded it was, we concluded it was Eagle's Patriots, right?
Starting point is 00:42:45 I think so. Although, I don't know. Travis might still be like, it was the chief first, when in. Eagles, Eagles Patriots is arguably one of the top five, like Super Bowl's the last like 20 years. Are we about to have this same argument? Oh, wow. Look how good this question is.
Starting point is 00:43:01 What a good question. Good job. I'm so jealous that you get to introduce clip number five. Man, number five. So I'll tee it up quick. You'll know what it is. This is from season one. This is Travis Kelsey's attempt to name all the NFL head coaches based on a photograph.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Dude, that might be the segment. We show players this picture and they have to name each coach in this picture. What do you think is you over under that players are going to be able to name half of them? half. You go. Let's give it a Travis Kelsey try right now. I can't wait. I'm the worst with names, but I can tell you team.
Starting point is 00:43:40 Okay. All right. Starting on the left. Chargers. Standing up. Yep. Sitting up. Standing up.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Standing up. Chargers, giants. Yep. San Fran. The fuck is that guy. I don't know the next two. Steelers. Steelers, Tampa.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Is that Tampa? Yep. Detroit. No chance you're getting this one. Zero percent chance. No truth. Jets. After Jets, nothing.
Starting point is 00:44:20 I don't even. I've never seen that man in my fucking life. So good. I mean, three in a row. I have no idea who those dudes are. Everybody between the Jets. Those are offensive coordinator. Shane Stigke for the Coles.
Starting point is 00:44:34 Come on, Travis. Who's? Who's next to Dougie P? Who the fuck is that? You should know that one. You should definitely know that one. I know Dimeco. Who's the other one?
Starting point is 00:44:45 You should know him because he's arguably your biggest rival. Oh, that is. Yeah, that's Censy. That's not. He's a dog. What's his name? What's his name? What's his name?
Starting point is 00:45:00 That's coach. Oh my God. This is so good. I told you I was terrible with names. I don't even know. You're bad with names. Zach Taylor. I knew he was a T.
Starting point is 00:45:12 I'm sorry, Coach Taylor. Are we doing at the bottom? Do you want to keep doing this? This is fun. All right. Are you going back to the left? You're starting on the right. I'm starting right and going back left.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Start with Matt Foley? Cowboy. Matt Foley. Again, never seen this fucking guy in my life. That's my defense. You don't know either of the two Eagles coaches. I got head coaching jobs. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:45:42 This is so good. I love what's happening right now. Miami. God damn it. There's no way, man. There's no way that guy coaches in the NFL, man. Then P. Carroll, Harball. Obviously, you know, the next fuck.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Rivera, QB's. Peacock. Coupies. Quarterback play. Broncos country. Let's ride. Gordon Bombay. We got the Packers.
Starting point is 00:46:15 and then just no clue and then bills. I'm not going to lie. I don't know how much better I could do. So this started because every year they put out the stupid coach's photograph and it's always like they make them line up and stare at the sun and put out this photo and they always look comfortable and weird. And like it's they never do a flattering photo of them. I don't know why the NFL loves to do this.
Starting point is 00:46:40 They love towards the coaches. It's been sort of like an online topic of discussion. but I have no idea if this was ever going to be funny to anybody else. And then when we presented it to them, and we started sort of like, you know, doing little jokes about outfits and placement and whatever. And once Jason queued in to Travis doesn't nose, what these guys are,
Starting point is 00:47:00 it just turned into like, wait, how many can you name? And sometimes in this show, you lay out something, you think it's going to go one way and it turns into a whole other thing. I think it has, like, recently become, like, everyone in NFL media tries to do their thing with the coach's photo. Like, yes. And in this first season, we were trying to figure out like, what's our thing going to be? Like, how are we going to join this coach's photo discussion?
Starting point is 00:47:24 It turns out, name the people in the photo. Name who they are. We get asked every year to do it again. I don't think we've done. We haven't done enough. You can't duplicate this. It's tough. It's, I will say, we've tried it.
Starting point is 00:47:37 We've tried to duplicate the magic of name that coach. It doesn't work. I'm sorry to say, it just has not worked. We kind of like have moved on from the bit. but that first one was absolute magic. Generally, one of my favorite moments from recording, I don't think we get that moment unless Jason has the great idea to just turn it into a game. Like that, I will give him all the credit.
Starting point is 00:47:57 That is entirely his idea to be like, hey, wait, how many can you name? Listen, sometimes bullying your brother is the best way to make a podcast. What's your favorite moment from this moment? Because I have one in particular. I go. I don't know. My favorite is when Travis goes, oh, man, that's coach. That's coach.
Starting point is 00:48:12 When Jason finally reveals that's the Bengals, he's like, do you know who that's his name? It's like, oh, yeah, man, that's coach. No, it's a great. It's a great bit. Great bit. Sorry, we can't do it ever again. It was, if you were there, you're there. If you've not seen it, please, I would highly recommend going back and watching it.
Starting point is 00:48:29 All right. Coming in at number four, we had so many moments from the first Kylie episode on this list. But I think this one was our favorite, in particular because of her genuine shock at finding out that this happened to both Kelsey brothers. This is Kylie talking to both guys about getting kicked out of preschool. Speaking of our dad, has Jason taught them how to fight yet? Do the girls know how to fight the Kelsey way? No.
Starting point is 00:48:56 No? Jason, you haven't taught them how to kick someone in the balls? I have not thought of any fighting techniques yet. I will say. Trying to keep them from getting kicked out of preschool the way I was. Oh, man, we both got kicked out of preschool. Jason, tell them what you did. I'll tell everybody what I did.
Starting point is 00:49:11 Well, me and a kid were playing at a cafeteria table, and for some reason, we were stabbing each other with sporks. For some reason? We thought it was, like, funny, and we were just, like, hitting each other with sporks, and I hit them hard enough right in the forehead. And I just remember the next day his dad had him, like, under his arm, and he had, like, three little spork dots or four little spork dots. And they were kicking me out. And they said, did you do this? And I said, yeah. You penetrated his skull, aka, they were.
Starting point is 00:49:41 playing, Jason didn't like how they were playing, so he stabbed him in the face with a fork. That's basically what happened. To which dad's reply was, why weren't you watching him? This is your fault. Boom. Who gave him a spork and unleashed him. Exactly. Why the hell would you get a spork and let him just eat his lunch without supervising them?
Starting point is 00:50:06 Yeah. And meanwhile, I got kicked out of preschool because during playtime, um, um, We were playing checkers and I was winning because I don't fucking lose it, checkers. And if you win, you stay on. Right? Like, that's the thing. It's kind of hard to win, Travis.
Starting point is 00:50:20 If you never move your back row. Yeah. So I kept winning. I kept winning. And the teacher told me, you know, Travis, you have to share. And I'm like, that's not how it rolls. Dad always taught us if you win, you stay on. Winner stays on.
Starting point is 00:50:36 You know what I mean? It's not fucking, yeah. And she said, no, you have to share it. I said, no, I don't. and through the chair that I was sitting in at her. So, is that a real story? How did I now remember that?
Starting point is 00:50:47 Hold on. Hold up. You've both been kicked out of preschool. Yeah. Good luck. This is what you married into. To be fair, if a teacher called me and said, is that surprising?
Starting point is 00:50:57 Your kids sporked another kid in the head. I would then address that with my child, not the teacher. Listen, this is, here's the difference. It was the 90s, you know? There was a girl in the same preschool I got kicked out of. of that rammed my head into an air conditioning unit. And I had a bump on my head. You probably deserved it.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Probably. But my dad didn't try and get that kid kicked out of school. He just was like, hey, I started growing up. Sometimes you run into an air conditioner. Honest, I'm going to be honest. All of a sudden, the sport kids, dad was like, I'm not having this. Like, your son was partaking in the sporking as well. He just didn't win.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Yeah. The thing I'm most nervous about for our daughters. Now he won't learn because you're removing the best competition. He'll be getting sporked for the rest of his life. This kid's never going to learn out of sport properly. The thing I'm most concerned about with Wyatt going to preschool is the phone call that I'm going to get when she has taught all of the other kids at her school the words that she's heard at home. Yeah. The only thing I can rest easier knowing is that Jason curses publicly on a regular basis.
Starting point is 00:52:09 and no one's going to suspect her found mouth's mother. Nice. That first Kylie episode was, I think when we were recording it, we were sending each other faces Kylie was making back and forth because she is so funny if you watch her in this episode. She cannot help but react to the absurdity that is Jason and Travis. And the sporking story is so good. Both of you?
Starting point is 00:52:33 You've both been kicked out of preschool? Yeah, good luck. The other thing, too, is the fact that sporked, became a verb is just, and everyone knows what it means. Incredible. I also think shout out to Cartoona Radio. I think this was the first clip that we ever got animated for this show, which just gave it new life, which is awesome.
Starting point is 00:52:54 The Kylie episodes are always the best. All right, Brendan, number three. Ooh, number three. I mean, I feel like a lot of you've been waiting for this moment. I feel like a lot of people have been like, where's it going to be? Where is it going to go? What are they going to say it? Top three.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Number three, top three moment. first episode of season four, this is the Taylor album reveal. Let's get to the part of this show that I think is what everybody is going to be talking about. Do I get to say it? Do I get to say the two words? Yes. Well, I think we were going to try. First of all, you could do whatever you want, Taylor.
Starting point is 00:53:30 I don't know. This is very much whatever. I want to work within the framework of the podcast. I'm a fan of the podcast. Typically, we would allow. the guest to say new news. Yeah, yeah, I want to do it. But with Zach Brown, we had another bit
Starting point is 00:53:45 that we did. I don't know if you saw. I don't know if we can get back to this. I forgot. I forgot everything that Zach taught me already. All right, let's just let the expert take care of this. Okay, I just wanted, I wanted to scream it. Taylor, just Travis style. Do you want to start it or echo it? I think Taylor has a little bit of new, new.
Starting point is 00:54:05 She's a natural. She's a natural. It was as fun as I thought it was going to be. Oh, it was everything. It was everything and more. We did talk about Easter eggs earlier. Yeah. And at the very last heiress tour, you didn't take the lift.
Starting point is 00:54:19 You did not. You went upstage and exited through an orange door. Why did you change the ending? So that's, I'm happy you mentioned that. I'm going to say, Jason. Did you see that the fans noticed this? Because I was pretty proud of them for noticing that. They noticed that.
Starting point is 00:54:35 I just, I was surfing the internet and saw something. Yeah. So that was, I was pretty happy that they noticed that. I was like, trained him well. So basically every night of the era's tour, everything happens with the reason. Taylor's a planner. She's not just a random orange door?
Starting point is 00:54:51 Just eggs everywhere. What's happening there? Why is why? And why, anyway. So I would leave the stage every night going down the elevator lift. That's how every single era's show ended except for one, except for the last one, where I exited through a door, an orange door to be specific. and that actually was an Easter egg.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Basically, the reason why I chose to exit that way is because I kind of wanted to give a little subliminal hint to the fans that I may be leaving the ERA's tour era, but I was also entering a new era. A new era. So I wanted to show you something. Okay. What do we got? We got a briefcase. Yep. Mitt Green with TS on it.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Yep. What's in it? This is my brand new album. You got TS12, baby. This is my brand new album. It's called The Life of a Show Girl. Love it. It was something that I was working on while I was in Europe on the Ares Corps.
Starting point is 00:56:03 So while you're on tour? I would be on tour. How on earth did she do this on the tour is still blowing my mind? I just love it. I just love it a lot. I love music. I would be playing shows. I'd do like three shows in a row.
Starting point is 00:56:17 I'd have three days off. I'd fly to Sweden, go back to the tour, and actually, like, working on this, I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating. And this is... And literally living the life of a showgirl. I was. While she wrote it.
Starting point is 00:56:37 That's why I said, that's why I called it that. Nailed it. So, do you want to see the back cover? I would love to see all of it. Back covers where we find the 12 tracks for my 12. 12 tracks. Bangers. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:49 So we got all. What are they? So we got track one, the fate of Ophelia. Okay. Track two. Go ahead. I was going to say, do you know a fate of Ophelia? I just, I don't want to get Jason all round up.
Starting point is 00:57:06 We can just go through the track. Okay. Yeah. Track two, Elizabeth Taylor. Okay. You know Elizabeth Taylor is? You better. I'm just kind of following.
Starting point is 00:57:16 Just kind of following along. Okay. All right. All right. Track three, opalite. Opalite. You know what opalite is, Jason? Why, can we stop asking me if I know what things?
Starting point is 00:57:24 Okay, I'm done. I'm asking Jason things. He's like, I hate this. I know a lot about this album and I'm excited. Track four, father figure. Father figure. Track five, eldest daughter. Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:40 Track six. ruin the friendship. Track seven, actually romantic. Actually romantic. Track eight, wish list with two dollar signs as the S's.
Starting point is 00:57:55 Just let I point that out. There you go. Flourish. Track nine, would. Wood. Nice. Track 10, canceled. But it's in all caps
Starting point is 00:58:06 with an exclamation point at the end. That's a banger. Track a little. 11, honey. Honey. And can you do drum roll? Last track, track 12. The title track, the life of a showgirl,
Starting point is 00:58:23 featuring Sabrina Carpenter. That's awesome. Incredible. She had that briefcase around all day, but we didn't actually see it until, like, we were not allowed. See the inside until she revealed it. Man, I tried.
Starting point is 00:58:39 So it was a reveal for all of us. It was a genuine reaction from all of us. It's still just an absurd. absurd sentence to stay out loud. Remember when you help reveal Taylor Swift's album and you go, yeah, it's just, it's absurd. It's absurd. It's absurd. Did not know that that was going to be a part of that episode. That was like a later sort of addition. They didn't trust me to keep that secret for that long. They told me, they told all of us pretty quick before we recorded. Oh, by the way. And we're like, oh, damn, you guys are smart. We would have definitely fucked up and probably said this at some point.
Starting point is 00:59:09 Again, I cannot thank her enough for sharing that with us or allowing us to be a part of it. And I will give this little tidbit. That was the first episode we recorded in Travis's new setup. And I've never been more stressed than like we set up the day before and stuff kind of worked. And it was like, we had that moment where they, where somebody goes, oh, I don't know if we got internet in that room yet. And I went, you what now? So there was, there was an absurd amount of flop sweat and fear radiating off my body as we recorded that because we just really had never tested that room before. and I have expected none of it to work, but it worked just long enough for us to get, you know,
Starting point is 00:59:49 maybe the coolest episode will probably ever record. I would remove maybe from that sentence. Hey, I always think she might come back. Right, yes. There, that's the caveat, I guess. You always got to think that we could do something bigger. Who knows? No, the Taylor episode is probably like hanging in the rafters at this point.
Starting point is 01:00:06 We'll make the banner for it. It's a Guinness World Record episode, by the way. Sure is. We never got a plaque for it, but they sure love tweeting about it. You didn't. I did. You have a plaque? No, I'm just fucking with you.
Starting point is 01:00:17 See, this is this bullshit. No, this is where it's bullshit. It was like, Guinness World Records loves to like tweet and mention everybody by his name. But when it comes down to giving us the fucking hardware, they certainly didn't send anything to me. Anyways, I'm not bitter about it. They do not. And I'm calling it. I'm using this platform to call them out.
Starting point is 01:00:31 Guinness World Records for the longest time it takes to receive a Guinness World Records, Brandon, me personally. All right. Moving on to clip number two, a clip I am sure like clip number three, many people have been waiting for. and also clip number three doesn't happen without clip number two. This is a lowly unsurprising Sikh ad read from season one. All right. Today's episode is sponsored by Seekek.
Starting point is 01:00:55 All right, ma. The NFL is almost here. We're in training camp, and we got a special discount on tickets thanks to our friends at Seekek. Tickets here, get your tickets here. With over 28 million downloads, Seekek is the number one rated ticketing app. How about that?
Starting point is 01:01:13 You best believe it, motherfuckers. There are more than 70,000 events every single day on Seek. I say that every single time we read this ad, and I do not understand how many times. But it is. We wouldn't be able to say it if it wasn't real. And this includes concerts, sports, festivals, and much, much more. You have the NFL, the MLB. You got Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Drake's concerts going on right now. I heard that's a banger. Luke Combs, if you like the contrary music, and a bunch of just shit. Just events and just shit to go to where you can enjoy yourself. Speaking to Taylor Swift, I know you went to the Taylor Swift concert. How was it? Yeah. Well, I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings.
Starting point is 01:01:59 So I was a little butt hurt. I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her. You made her a bracelet? Yeah. If you're up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are Frencher bracelets. And I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to. to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it. Not right now.
Starting point is 01:02:15 Oh, your numbers in 87 or your phone number? You know which one. So she doesn't meet anybody and she doesn't, or at least she didn't want to meet me. So I took a personal, but it was an unbelievable show. And honestly, Kansas City showed out. I've only seen Arrowhead filled like that
Starting point is 01:02:36 for Chiefs games with that much excitement. And, yeah, everybody was dressed in pink and purple going crazy for it was wild it was a wild show well she she probably just hasn't gotten over the street bowl yet she's a big eagles fan so maybe she just made something up and just didn't want to talk to you damn it i mean you guys knew it's coming somewhere in the top five you've had to know it's gonna be somewhere in the top five if not number one but i feel like we talked this one to death i don't know this is this is it was a surprising moment that happened and we all got real excited about it and we're like is he kidding turns out he wasn't and uh i will say
Starting point is 01:03:11 probably should have noticed this like when the two guys met in the Super Bowl. But this, I think, has since become the clearest example of how you can just say shit and manifest it on this show. And it will come true. Which is awesome. I've said that to everybody who's been on. I've said it to everybody who works on the show. If you say it on air, I mean, I think there was one point we were talking about going to space where we got an email from. You can go to say who.
Starting point is 01:03:34 But they were like, hey, you want to go? And I said, not on your rockets. I don't know that we can keep that. It's absurd that that was the part of the last episode of season one, and we just sort of like threw that out there. It was like the last thing we recorded. It was the last or second to last thing. We always do ads at the end.
Starting point is 01:03:52 That's a little behind the scenes tidbit there. But yeah, didn't quite know where that was all going to end up. And I think it ended up going pretty well for Travis. Yeah, anyone have an update on? I don't have any updates. You know, we're rooting for those kids. All right. It is time.
Starting point is 01:04:06 The number one moment. The number one moment. Should I do a little? In New Heights history. Perfect. That sounds great. I'm glad we planned this. I'm sure our editors can add in a drum roll, but I'm just going to do this anyway.
Starting point is 01:04:21 Jason and Travis sharing their feelings post Kelsey Bowl. We're going to get to what we said to each other because I was misquoted by saying that I said, fuck you, congratulations after the game. Which is not what I said. I was like, I don't remember that one. I was a loss of words and you didn't you didn't really say much, but I know you didn't say fuck you. Yeah, I mean, I didn't say much because I wanted you to go celebrate with your team. You know, I knew that you were going to feel bad for me and I didn't want that.
Starting point is 01:04:53 I didn't want that to be how you remembered that. So I just kind of made an emphasis to go hug you, tell you I love you, congratulations, and go be with your teammates. because I didn't want to be the guy that was going to bring down that moment for you. Yeah. Well, there wasn't much you could do about me feeling like that. You could have told me, fuck you, and I would have still felt the exact same way that I felt with you just telling me to go celebrate with your teammates. That wasn't an easy feeling, and I was definitely lost at words, but I did say one thing.
Starting point is 01:05:28 And I told you it was the funnest year of my life. Yeah, it was a great time. And I agree. It was an awesome year. The podcast, we've never talked more throughout any NFL season. Yeah, I mean, it was a- That's what it was all about for me, man. To see this script or however you want to call it play out like it did
Starting point is 01:05:51 and to be set and schedule every single week to talk it over with you, man. That was something I could have never drew up. I could have never, you know, expected it to be. this damn fun, man. And it really did blindside me. And the crazy part is is that I would never be playing this damn game if it wasn't for you.
Starting point is 01:06:14 Stop. No, it is. It's the truth, man. I followed your footsteps into it. I actually tried to play football when you started playing football. So you started playing hockey, I started playing hockey.
Starting point is 01:06:26 You started playing football. I started playing football. Yeah. There was pretty much every sport except for basketball like that. You started playing lacrosse. I started playing lacrosse. Um, so yeah, I've kind of just been following your footsteps throughout this whole gig and, uh,
Starting point is 01:06:41 to go through everything leading up to this moment, uh, or leading up to this year and then having the year that we had, um, and then meeting you at the mountaintop, brother. It was, um, it was like we, uh, we were on top of that thing together, man. And, um, it was, uh, it was cool to break the barrier of, uh, two brothers going against each other. I don't think the story would have been the same. I don't think the drama would have been the same. I don't think, people enjoy our family the same this week that they did, uh, if, if, if it's, if it's any other way. So well, you know, for some reason when I saw you, I wasn't that emotional. I was really, really happy for you. I think I was still caught up in the game though. And I just wanted to try to
Starting point is 01:07:25 not bring you down. So I just wanted to say congratulations and was really happy for you, but still caught up in myself a little bit and, you know, and I think I just tried to get away from me as quick as possible, so you go celebrate with your teammates. But the moment I saw mom is when I got really emotional because, man, it was so awesome. It was. All right now. Yeah. Oh, man.
Starting point is 01:08:16 Fuck. It was awesome for, you know, she was on top of the world for. for a week. She was the heavyweight chair, man. She was on top of it, and she shined the whole time, man. That was the coolest part. Mom, you absolutely killed it. Dad, you've been killing it.
Starting point is 01:08:38 Yep. And it was just so cool, man, to see, you know, her get to celebrate in that with us. Yeah. And it was an awesome moment, you know, just so happy for her and so happy that, you know, she got her moment. Dad got his.
Starting point is 01:09:03 So, yeah, I was the only, ironically, you know, you lose the Super Bowl. And you're crying after the game. And they're not tears of sadness. You know, they're tears of joy. So still sucked. But, you know. So it makes you the best, brother. So it makes you the best.
Starting point is 01:09:35 You know, proud of my team and my guys. And, you know, sorry, Philadelphia that we couldn't fucking get it. done but uh you know happy for you guys and uh you know it's way it goes sometimes the idea that in our first season as a show we ended up with this scenario where our two hosts play each other in the super bowl is the most absurd storyline you could ever write having to record that episode afterwards was odd in a way because you just knew somebody had just had the worst week into their life and somebody had one of the best i do think this clip this moment, that episode is a real testament to, I think, what makes this show unique,
Starting point is 01:10:17 which makes Jason and Travis so special, is that the way that they loved how much this is about their family and how much it meant to them and, you know, game results aside, was still such a special moment for everybody involved. When you whittle the show down to what it is at its core, that this is a moment that I think sort of encapsulates exactly what it is at all times. We didn't know exactly what they were going to say coming off the Super Bowl and the fact that they were just so vulnerable. and let us all into like the, like,
Starting point is 01:10:45 you don't get to see what that's like, let alone, like, after losing a Super Bowl, after winning a Super Bowl, it just had never happened. Brothers had never played against each other as active players in a Super Bowl. And for them to like let us into everything that they were experiencing over the two weeks
Starting point is 01:11:05 and just give us like actual raw human emotions, insights. And, you know, it was just an incredible moment. And I think, like you said, perfectly encapsulates like what the show is about. It's about these two brothers who are at the peak of their careers, all pro NFL caliber players. But at the end of the day, it's like any sibling relationship that you could imagine. And I think this is the perfect clip to sort of top off our list of top 92 moments. It is certainly the one that I don't think, you know, in the list of things like we can do other funny moments.
Starting point is 01:11:40 We can have a lot of great guess. We're never doing that again. Nope. Nor is, listen, I'm fucking hanging out there. Nobody else is either. Like, that is, it's one of the most absurd storylines we've ever been involved in. And I think in that first season when we sort of all, I don't remember when we first started like noticing that we were kind of, I don't know, like, week 12.
Starting point is 01:11:57 We were like, like, if there ever was a shot at this, it was probably going to be now. We were like, no. They were both on trajectory for the one seed. And like, yes. You know, we were like looking at the schedule. And we were debating like which, because I think. think some NFC teams were playing AFC teams and we were like figuring out which one to root for to make sense that both guys would get the one seed.
Starting point is 01:12:20 No, it was crazy. And I think like the most stressed I've been on an NFL Sunday outside of, I guess even with Super Bowls has been that championship. Yeah, it was it was the Bengals Chiefs and then Niners, Niners Eagles where I was like, please got, like that was the most stressed I've been on NFL Sunday, I think ever. Even the Super Bowl was not that stressed. Like, there was nothing you could do. about it. I called my mom at like five in the morning stressing out. She very gently was like,
Starting point is 01:12:49 okay, you've realized you're not playing. Like that's no, no, we are. We are my, they need me. I remember there's a group of people going and we're like, hey, we're going to go watch the games together. And I was like, I, you don't want me there. There's nothing about being around me on this day that will be fun for anybody else. I remember during the, during the bank, Well, the Eagles game, I think, you know, writing was on the wall kind of quick on that one for a lot of reasons. But the Bengals game certainly fucking wasn't. I remember very distinctly being in my living room, like child's pose on the floor, just like literally on the floor, on all fours, like head down. And I think the Bengals had the ball.
Starting point is 01:13:26 Maybe they were down a field goal or like less with like two minutes to go. And I was like, this cannot be it. This can't be fucking it. And I think Chief's got a three and out in the ball back. Or no, Bengals were up. Yes. They could basically ice it out with the ball if they just. got a few first down.
Starting point is 01:13:40 I remember it was like three first downs games over essentially. They can just kneel. And I remember being like, I was like, I'm not going to record next week. If this is how it goes, I'm not going to do it. I'm somebody else can do it. I'm not dealing with this. And then Chris Jones took the Hummer out of the garage. What was it like on your end after the Super Bowl?
Starting point is 01:13:56 Who sent the first like, hey, so are we recording on Tuesday text? How did that go? I don't remember. I think it was like, I think I just put sort of the rundown together. and then just send it with the time. And then I don't know, I don't know what responses I got out of that. I don't remember.
Starting point is 01:14:17 It was one of those times where I was like, well, I got to send it. They're expecting it. I mean, they, they know what happened. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:26 Did people still ask you who you were rooting for? Oh. I get it from time to time. The time. It was rooting for offense. I've always told people that like going into the Super Bowl, much like Ed Kelsey, we'd already won.
Starting point is 01:14:37 Yes. It was going to be bad. for somebody and great for somebody else. We knew that. So I honestly wasn't that. I wouldn't say not stressed because I wanted it to be good. I wanted it to be like a game that people wouldn't be like, I don't want to blowout. I was rooting for not blowout. I was like somebody this needs to be a good game where people can kind of keep their heads up about it and in however they want to. It cannot be like 42 to three. Like it cannot be that. But I wasn't, I was not stress going into this. I was like, it's going to happen. Like it's going to be bad one way or the
Starting point is 01:15:05 other. Like there wasn't really much to do about it. I know that's always my people get mad at me. They're always like, no, somebody. And I'm like, I really don't know what to tell you besides I wanted it to be a good game. That was kind of all I was rooting for. And it was one of the better ones, to be honest. I mean, sorry, Eagles fans. It was kind of one of the better ones. It really was.
Starting point is 01:15:19 Eagles got their Super Bowl win, too. They did. They did. They remind you constantly. Leave that in there. It's fine. No way. All right.
Starting point is 01:15:29 No. But yeah, I get that gosh and time of time. And I never have an answer people like. So I apologize. If you ask me that and I give you that answer, that's what you're going to get. I'm searching for Jake. Starting for good social media. content to come out of that day.
Starting point is 01:15:40 We did get good social media content. Wait, were you with him when we saw the Rihanna set list? Yes, we, we, that is our, that's our biggest regret. Could have millionaires. We had the first song. This was also our first Super Bowl to attend. I don't know if that's interesting, but eye opening did not, was not ready for what it was. And like, we essentially didn't have tickets.
Starting point is 01:16:01 We had media passes, which means you get to go stand around the Super Bowl. Yes. Yeah, you got a ticket eventually. But we essentially all had media passes, which means, like, hey, do you want to go to the Super Bowl and like mill around and sort of just like keep moving and never able to stop or sit down? And you go, that sounds awful. And you go, it is.
Starting point is 01:16:16 It's interesting to go to Super Bowl. But like the media pass is not off the crack out to be. But we did wander around. We got to a place where we were standing behind all these like monitors and setups and whatever. And we just saw like Rihanna song list. And it was, it was her halftime show written out by song. And we knew one of the prop bets was like, what song is first?
Starting point is 01:16:35 And we were, we didn't have stadium cell phone search. We were trying, we tried to put, trying to put the savings on whatever it was that first song was. I was texting people like, hey, it's this, you got to go. And they were like, I think we found out they capped those bets. It's like a $25 bad. Yeah, it was like nothing. But we were like, Jake, we could fucking be retiring off of this. Is it our big break?
Starting point is 01:16:58 Turns out we're still here. Sorry. That's it. That is the top 92 clip countdown. That's it. That's New Heights. The show. If you didn't know what we were, watch those.
Starting point is 01:17:06 You'd probably get a pretty clear idea of what the show. is Jake, which final thoughts here, final thoughts here. My final thoughts is it's tough to make a list. And as we've said before, if you have any complaints about moments that were left off, moments that were ordered wrong, you can tweet at Brandon underscore borders. At JChat 85.
Starting point is 01:17:25 Brandon underscore borders. Or honestly, because I'm going to be on paternity leave, tweet at New Heights Show. Just tweet at New High Show with one S. We'll put the list out on social. We'll put the list out on social, get in the comments, yell at us, tell us what we forgot. Tell us what we missed. Tell us what's egregiously unranked.
Starting point is 01:17:40 If you're a guest of the show and you weren't featured on this list, let us know. Come back on. Yell at Jake. Be mad at Brandon. He made the list. The hardest part of the list, honestly, was the first half. Yes. Like the 40 to 92 was like, this is kind of the Wild West here.
Starting point is 01:17:55 The top 10, I feel like we nailed pretty quick. 40 to 92 could have been 150 different things. Yeah. There's a lot. And if we miss something that's your favorite, get mad at us. Jake, bat. 85. Anyways, this has been.
Starting point is 01:18:07 in the top 92 moments of all time from New Heights. We will be back on September 2nd with brand new episodes. Jason and Travis will be back.
