Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed human. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me. Clivert Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits,
Starting point is 00:00:12 my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media. Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifers Show. This is a place for raw, unfills of conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated.
Starting point is 00:00:28 So let's get to it. Listen to the. the Clifford show on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok podcast network on TikTok. On the Look Back at it podcast. From 1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 is big to me. I'm Sam Jay.
Starting point is 00:00:45 And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s. 84 was a wild year. It was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:01:07 or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Daniel Alarcon, and this is my friend. This is much more famous than I am. I wouldn't go that far, but I'm John Green. Co-host of the podcast The Away End with my old friend Daniel. On our podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things,
Starting point is 00:01:29 football, soccer is the most important. Listen to the away end with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On paper, the three hosts of the Nick Dick and Poll show are geniuses. We can explain how AI works, data centers, but there are certain things that we don't necessarily understand. Better version of Play Stupid Games Win Stupid Prizes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was. I got that wrong. But hey, no one's perfect. We're pretty close, though. Listen to the Nick, Dick, and Paul show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Volume. Salute to America New.
Starting point is 00:02:17 And I saw a Dusco bowling alley. He opened. I saw his wife working with kids there. It looks like a cool setup that the guy going on. Yeah. That would be a cool retirement plan. Bowling alley? I would own a bowling alley.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Just open a bowling alley. I don't know if anyone bowls anymore, but like that would be. be a fun thing to do. And I like what game. They have a stage over there. Like, remember when bowling alleys were a thing? Yeah. Like, what happened? I mean, people's, people's idea of fun and what they
Starting point is 00:02:45 wanted to do on their free time changed. Yeah. Really what people did and that was just something that I like. I think people started traveling more. Because I've noticed that over the years. A lot of people traveled. I would go to a bowling alley in Sweden. See how the, see how the Swedes bowl. That just sounds funny. But yeah. Like in Australia,
Starting point is 00:03:04 like to see if the ball move the other way the same way the toilet shit does it's a show it's it's a show in there somewhere traveling the world and just introducing bowling to people who's never seen it before i think uh i think professional bowlers are the most trash athletes on the planet why there's no reason why you don't bowl a perfect score every time that's it's if there was a professional free throw shooters like you had nothing to do whatsoever but just shoot free throws there's no parts of the game at all you don't even have to go get fouled. The game is shooting free throws. People will still miss. Yeah. Step 39. 98 out of 100 if your whole life's goal was just shooting free throws.
Starting point is 00:03:42 There's no way you don't bowl a perfect score. I know people in Hudson Lanes right now bowling perfect scores off two shots of Hennessy. Yeah, but it's different when it's competition evolved. Like, you know, it's just different elements to it. It's mental. Because we're talking about just a, we're talking about a fraction off and you can you can, you can not, not, not. It's your life's work. Yeah, but a lot of people have life's work that they're not perfect guys. Everyone's quiet. At Duke, at the free throws go like this. Yeah, but it's still.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Golf is very difficult. One of the harder games. And it's quiet. Bowling, everyone's dead quiet. It's the same. There's no regulation difference between the shit in my hood and professional bowling. It's the same thing. Yeah, but it's still.
Starting point is 00:04:24 They at least move the three point line from college to the NBA. Yeah, but it's still, you know, it's professional bowlers should be bowling from the rafters. Yeah, but you're not perfect. though. So while you think you're perfect and you think I don't think I'm you think you think my depressive mind thinks no no I'm saying any nobody's perfect so you can't see every now and then you wouldn't bowl a perfect game shit happens yeah but the fact that a 710 split even exists in your worlds when your life's work is taking this ball and throwing it 20 feet down to some pins you're the
Starting point is 00:04:52 worst athlete on earth no I can't say and I watch professional Rory is crazy you just why you shouldn't have you seen professional pool players and the shit that they could do when it's their life's work, what's more difficult? The playing pool is probably more difficult, for sure. They could shoot, if we had a pool table here and put another pool table outside on the street on top of my car,
Starting point is 00:05:17 they could shoot that shit over, through the window down, up, down, go right in, hit the A ball. These guys don't pull a perfect game. You're thinking about, you're not factoring how much time it takes to get to be able to do that, though. That takes a lot of... It's their life's work.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Yeah, but I'm saying even these guys' life's work is a free throw. Yeah, but even when it's your life's work, you're going to miss. You're not, nobody's perfect word. You're going to miss. Now, you might not miss again for another 90 shots, but you'll miss. Yeah, it happens. So why aren't all professional bowling things like 95% perfect game? Why is it not triple overtime every time?
Starting point is 00:05:52 They are for the most point they are, though. Yeah, for the most point they are, though. And you ask that bowling, why you over here, judging what they got going on? I'm not a professional. bowling stream. Oh yeah, we should do that. Go bowling and stream it? I love bowling.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Not a professional. I make mistakes. But it's like the only sport that you be like eat nachos and do it. It's fucking great. You can drink and do it and not be judged. Like it's,
Starting point is 00:06:15 it's, and I love bowling. And I watch professional bowling. Demaris, have you ever, have you ever given the draws up after a bowling date? That used to be one of my go-toes.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Take a bowling and then chew her like a bowling ball. Love it. Pull all three fingers I was about to say same. It's the same thing. This, this right here and I'm throwing my leg the same way. Yeah, this is the same. You'll kick your leg up the same way.
Starting point is 00:06:40 I'm swinging my leg right behind her. Fly down the lane. I'm thinking more than you do. What were, Mall, I saw your 2026 vision board and the number one thing on there was upgrading to the all new iPhone 17 Pro and just huge letters on your vision board.
Starting point is 00:06:59 It's happening. Just plastered on your wall. It's happening. But I know in that vision board, you were very worried about the traffic or getting to the store to transfer all your data. That was just crazy on your vision board. Like how will I transfer the data? I had data on my vision.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Good news, though. When you order a new phone online with Boost Mobile, they'll send an expert to your home, your work. They'll even paste your vision board together if you ask them and give you your new iPhone 17 Pro and get you set up on BoostMobile within minutes, no hassle. Visit boostmobile.com to get started. Delivery available for select devices purchased at boostmobile.com.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Terms apply. What was in women's brains when we were trying to pull? like the bowling date in our early 20s. There was not. That child was broke. It's a cheap date. Y'all wasn't thinking we was broke back. Not not like.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Not in high school. He said in our 20s. Even in your 20s, he wasn't thinking he was broke. Brolin date was the broke. Unless we were like in a relationship. Like the first three dates should not be bowling. So this should be the first two days. I think that is in like the first three date mix.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Yeah, definitely it. I'm down with it. But. Okay. It's a lot of downs. time to talk and get to know each other. You have the subtle fun competition flirty shit. You can look at her ass when she's bowling. Like there's a lot of positive things. But women don't be liking bowling like that. That's a y'all thing. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Like women don't really, like, have you ever, I know some women go bowling and they really, really enjoy it. Me, I'm very competitive. I really, really like bowling dates because I'm super competitive. But a lot of girls don't like that shit. So it's like, why are you taking me somewhere? I don't like just for what? What is the ideal first three dates for women? I won't say for women I'll say for me I like a gaming date maybe as the third one
Starting point is 00:08:42 third or second one my longest relationship was we went to Dave and Busters on the first day so I like a gaming date but David Buster's date is still okay with women right not most women
Starting point is 00:08:52 You know how expensive Dave Busters is now? It's okay with women as long as if they get a high score you get them a Chanel back that's when it's okay I'm not arguing with you Of course you not
Starting point is 00:09:03 You would love to see it happen You can't argue with that If that's the type of woman I'm dating We're not going to Dave and Busters I'll just buy the bag and we'll fuck Which would never happen I'll just be betting all types of crazy shit I'd be like oh if I make this point
Starting point is 00:09:15 I'm one of them people We're doing crazy bets It's not worth it Just don't do it But why I can't ever say If I if I beat you a Connect 4 I get that pussy tonight Why I can never be that
Starting point is 00:09:26 Because I'm not losing I'm not losing Connect 4 If it's Connect 4 on some ass You're losing So why I forgot say that? Then it's like, girl, this nigga thirsty. But if you be like, yo, if I beat you right now, you got to take me to Chanel tomorrow. We're supposed to be like, all right, bet.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Also, losing and connecting for is funny. What? Losing and Connect 4 is funny. Why is that funny? Everyone of our age and intelligence, like every game should end in a stalemate. Like losing and Connect 4 at 35 is crazy. It's not, though. Kids need to lose and connect with.
Starting point is 00:10:04 losing that tick-tac toe wild as fuck at this age. Nah, you just got to go top left, top right, and you win. Don't tell them, Rory. Shut the fuck up, Josh. Don't leak that strategy. Who doesn't know that? Like, what grown person doesn't know that by now? Losing and Kinect 4 is only off neglect in, like, drunk game night.
Starting point is 00:10:21 There's no way you focused in lose and connect for. I remember I was playing this girl, because you know you got to connect 4 on your phone, like the games. So this girl's like, oh, if I beat you, you got to send me a dick pick. got lost on purpose that was happening anyway I was like oh damn you got me here I was like oh damn you got me
Starting point is 00:10:44 I don't really do this but attachment one then we go and save the photo and that shit from two years ago this your best word I take fresh work I take fresh shots work I appreciate that yeah I don't do that every woman is not created equal okay
Starting point is 00:10:57 there's like tears of what yeah you send up videos Nah, I don't do that I don't believe you I edge How you send an edge video Like nah not not yet In the video cuts
Starting point is 00:11:13 You don't get that Yeah you don't get that I was about to I was about to back it out But I stopped I sent a nude and then I sent an ad At the end of it You gotta go ad free
Starting point is 00:11:27 You gotta go ad free You gotta go ad free You gotta go ad free You know what I'm saying I think she would change our Jay-Z tier on Patreon, the mall edging tier. Go ad free, baby.
Starting point is 00:11:42 You're not sending nut videos? It's not horny and weird. I'm such a woman because I, why am I mad at the answer to a question I asked? Like, what? Oh, you wanted the answer to be yes. No, not, not. I wanted him to not answer. I'm mad.
Starting point is 00:11:55 I know that about him now, even though I ask the question. Yeah, nah, you can't finish. Like, you know, can't finish myself. Not on camera, no. The thing with nut videos is just, the post nut clarity is 10 times worse because you have your phone in your hand and with a good nut video
Starting point is 00:12:12 you can't like clean up it in real time you kind of just got to let it flow so yeah it's that post nut clarity is the most shameful you'll ever feel and then what is editing your nut video is you probably have to get horny again to do that
Starting point is 00:12:29 post nut clarity and then putting edits to something is the sickest thing of all and I'm a terrible person because I get enough video and I'm going to leave you on red for at least an hour. See, that's when I'm at the... That's evil. That's when I'm at your door with a wild, greasy palm. Did you see what I just said?
Starting point is 00:12:46 Touching all your door knobs, yeah. iPhone screen all fucked up. Yeah, you're not going to do me like that. I'm not one of them now. You just leave the risky test, like, just on red? That's really evil. It depends. I've done it to men when I was mad at them.
Starting point is 00:13:04 like when I was mad at them oh yeah send me another video you do it now because they think like this is them making it up to me because I'm mad and I just leave my red for an hour if a girl is mad at me
Starting point is 00:13:13 and says that I'm going to immediately think I'm being set up for something not that not that type of mad not that type of mad where you would think I would leak it or something like no not like
Starting point is 00:13:21 I'm just in general I'll be like down to like when I've been in relationships and she's mad at me and starts cooking and like oh you want something I'm like what you put in the food
Starting point is 00:13:32 like I don't try no it's a whole whole different energy. I ate right, right before I got it? You eat first. Hey, right before I got here.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Marys, is it true that you can tell how much a guy likes you, by the way he kiss you? Because this girl was telling me, yo, you don't really like me. I was like, why are you saying that? She was like, I could tell about the way you kissed me.
Starting point is 00:13:48 And I was like, what? You're not a passion. How were you? Well, how were you kissing her? I thought I was giving her my best work. I thought I was giving her my best love Jones. You know what? Apparently she felt like I didn't like her at all.
Starting point is 00:14:01 I was like, what did you mean? That was the is it in version of Yeah. Oh damn. Like were you like pecking? Was there a tongue? Yeah, it was all of that. Face touching.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Pecking public, tongue in, you know, behind closed doors, that type of thing. I think she wanted me to like tongue down in whole foods. I mean, I'm not doing that. You don't do that? I don't do the tongue kissing public. I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that. That's just like, it's just too much.
Starting point is 00:14:23 You don't like her that much. No, I like them, but that's just like, I could be madly in love with you and I'm not talking with you in public. Like that's just, I'm not doing that. Like, while we outside standing on the corner waiting for the light to change, me to tongue you down right here on 34th Street. What else we're supposed to do? No, I'm not tongue you now.
Starting point is 00:14:39 I'll kiss you. You know what I'm saying? Kiss you on your neck and on your cheek and, you know, pet kiss you on the lips. I'll tongue you down. That's probably, well, that's probably why you should feel like to know.
Starting point is 00:14:46 I'm ready. I'm ready, ready. Like, the blood is flowing. I'm not going to do that and then we got to walk to Target. What are we doing? Like, I'm ready to go back to the curtain.
Starting point is 00:14:56 In target? No, hell no. Get me to the house. It's, but it's like building that anticipation. Like, just like how we said to all day, day, you have the tongue kissing throughout the all day day. You know when you get home, the panties just sliding off like a seal.
Starting point is 00:15:09 All that blue miss making out. Like a seal. You are such a freak. Like a seal? What's wrong with you? I'm just seeing it. You would only know how, you know, ever, you've seen the seal slide into the water before. Like, you see exactly how they.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Like, DeMaris had to study that. Like, she knows she studied that. I'm just like, you know what that reminds me up? When I had them thongs on that night. I'm just saying it builds anticipation. So that's why you're supposed to do things like that in public. Like it's like a I can't wait to get you home type thing. A peck.
Starting point is 00:15:39 I'm not thirsty to get home from the peck. Like you got to make me woozy. You got to make me lightheaded. To get you home? I'm just saying like it'll, that's when you're like ready. That sounds like I might be on fuck at the podium next month or tomorrow. I did not lightheaded.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Whoa. I want you to be very clearheaded. Fuck that. No. I'm just saying. So I understand why she would think that that you don't really like that. But I liked her though. Like I really liked that.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Well, did you explain. to her that you're just not that guy? Because my question before you answer was going to be all men are different. Some men are not like a bitch, Rory, and tongue kiss her to party in front of all their friends. That's what I said. I said, how could you say that? I know guys that don't like girls and they can tongue them down and they don't like those
Starting point is 00:16:19 girls. Yeah. So that's just like a stupid analogy. Because you tongue me down too quickly, I know you don't like me. You just do this way, bye. See? Why is your tongue in my mouth? Like, you just met me.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Like, please don't get it away from me. I feel like I had known you my whole life. you're such a white boy like that's y'all shit tongue kissing mono is y'all shit y'all love mono white boys love mono they do they catch mono at least every every quarter and then blame it on the weather yeah yeah yeah but I mean
Starting point is 00:16:47 yes all right I'll play into the joke a bit yes I will tongue kiss early but like my passionate kiss that that takes some time I'm not a whore what's the different yeah thank you baby dude um it's a certain face face touch hand holds. Just touch your face.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Touch your face. Touch your face. Touch your face. Touching your own face when you're making out. Touch your face. Touch your face. Like, I've never caressed my own face in my entire life.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Like, what is it? It's a. Do it to the basketball. It's crazy. Do it to the basketball. We have to draw a line in content. A line needs to be drawn when it comes to content. I'm here to push the boundaries with you guys.
Starting point is 00:17:31 What do you do? do the chin cup. Oh, I definitely a gentle throat grabbing a sea. If she receives that well and I see if I'm dealing with a real freak. I'm just going to just grab the throat. It's a lot of testing the waters to see what she likes type of time. I grabbed the throat. But it's a lot of hand holding certain grab.
Starting point is 00:17:50 Not so much sexual of like tities trying to go there. Like we're focused just on making out. Making out is not just to get to me eating your pussy. Like we're going to take our time here and make out. Yeah, I grabbed the throat to make sure what her pronouns are. Do you think? Oh, my God. What do you think they would be?
Starting point is 00:18:10 I don't know. We're just going to check that. I think before that you should maybe grab a handhold down there and see what's going on. Let's go right to it. If that's your journey, I'm not here to judge you. I think. Have y'all, um, have y'all listen to don't be dumb? ASAP?
Starting point is 00:18:27 Mm-hmm. Yeah. I don't know if I liked that reply. Yeah, I don't know if I listened to it. Okay. Did you like it? I did. I thought the music was really good. I like the energy on there. The production was great. I mean, I'm never going to really love Rocky's rapping. I don't think that's what you listen to Rocky Ford, but the music was good. I definitely got some joints on there.
Starting point is 00:18:49 There's some Stoss Walker. His verse on that stop snitching joint is hard. He went off. I love like Salt Walker, his style like he went off. Yeah, like that was good though. I was actually like pleasantly surprised at how good I, well how much I enjoy listening to it. The music was really good. Um, I got a little bit a little more. Stole your flow will probably play outside. Well, because the music. Like, the music is good.
Starting point is 00:19:13 I was quiet because I didn't want to come in here and like, y'all clown me. I think it's fucking great. Oh. You think it's great? I was so pleasantly surprised. Not that I went in thinking that it was going to be trash, but I didn't go in with expectations, maybe the way I'll go into the falloff.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Right. the product the first half of this album is fucking incredible he starts to experiment a little bit in the middle to end but i'm not even mad at that and then the end of it is is incredible yeah like i need to go through at least like some of the credits who produced this album every beat on this is better than any beat i've heard all of last year oh you're on no the production on the rocky album is fucking that's the first thing like i haven't really lived with it enough to really get into you know the lyrics and and and and and and the words like that but the music and the flows and things like that on on on the records is definitely like the music is to me stood out like it sounds
Starting point is 00:20:12 the music the album sounds good and i'm with more i never like looked at rocky as like some super lyricist and i don't even think he would say that he's that he's more about making a great record it's some of the best rapping he's ever done i love all the raps on it too this is the best rocky album probably since the first one i feel like that i'm not just listening it to the music i feel like that like it's definitely the best sound the best music he's had in a very long time without a doubt there's not a even the experimental shit is great there's not a there's not a whack beat on this project everything is flawless production i dk you might be tripping with this one though first i dk it's my guy um he tweeted rocky in the new big three eight i love it you my guy but not
Starting point is 00:20:57 we fuck with you my god man yeah but nah you know you i just spoke to id k i said next time he's in new york you should come on the show um nah rocky if you want to get into like influence we've talked about this before though rocky has a lot of kids out here if you're saying like big three or strictly influence and where you see their DNA you could put rocky in that type of Well, hold on, hold on. But in big three, no, hold on. He said, in the new big three. So who's the new big three?
Starting point is 00:21:28 Also, I think Rocky's been away for too long and he's had a career for too long to be in the new big three. Who would the new big three be? Right. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Because I thought people considered the new big three to be like Tyler, uh, oh, if that's the case then Rocky and Tyler. Tyler Travis and like who like, um, Playboy Cardi. But Playboy Cardi.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Those are all his sons right here. The Mrs. Children. Them is his children. Not Tyler, but definitely the other too. Yeah. I mean, shit, Stole your flow is about Trappist being my son. Yeah. So I mean.
Starting point is 00:22:08 But I mean, hold on, because I love Tyler. But I could see a little rocky influence in Tyler, though. I always felt like the ASAP crew in odd future were perfect, like, like mirrors of the kids from those cities at that time. Like ASAP was a perfect, I'm going to say metaphor, but like if you just looked up what Harlem was at that time, those kids would be the picture in the dictionary. And if you're looking at more of the alternative underground,
Starting point is 00:22:40 things are switching from just gangster rap in L.A. to other shit, that whole odd future collective was that. There are mirrors of each other in different coasts. So, no, I wouldn't say that they're, Tyler is Rocky's son at all in that regard. Not his son, but I'm just saying the influence. I could see some of Rocky's influence. I think I hear some of Tyler's influence in the production on this project. I think they're friends that influence each other for sure.
Starting point is 00:23:10 But to what you're saying to me, again, I haven't lived with the album enough yet to really get into the rapes like that as far as the lyrics. But music, the music, this is definitely some of the best music that I've done. heard from Rocky in a very long time. The album sounds really good. And again, I'm only like three listens in, but I can't think of a, outside of the clips album, I haven't had like a good in the car album in a long time. This album is perfect for riding in the car. Like if you just need something to put on and it's going to sound good throughout the entire time,
Starting point is 00:23:46 no matter what type of speakers you have while you're driving traffic, highway, anywhere this is the album for you it's a perfect driving album okay I'm gonna I think I think Rocky over fucking delivered on this it's it's such a good album the music is good I ain't a lot definitely listen to the music is definitely you know his best music in a very in a very long time and it's a double it's a double disc yeah it is I love it the second disc it's like two songs in a video I think I think on the second disc like so I don't know if it's double display yeah I'm on Apple music which it between Apple music and Spotify is the
Starting point is 00:24:25 prime distribution mm-hmm of the music industry I see disc one and I see disc two so now we have to compare falloff versus you know which dish you like better you know you make it don't have to do that making double for double songs is fucking crazy but you got he got his double we got his double CD yeah he's up there with the ghost he got his double rock he got his double now TI is making a comeback too. How do you guys feel about that? Have you heard it?
Starting point is 00:24:52 I listened to the snippet. As of this recording, there's only been the snippet. He's only got a snippet. The snippet sounds fucking great. It sounds really good. I love that Ross record that Farrell did that kind of just went under the radar because the clips overtook everything. I like that Farrell is going back and working with artists from that era.
Starting point is 00:25:11 And I mean, T.I obviously didn't get to start with Farrell, but Farrell was early. early good Tia to the to the masses that song is out baby oh did come out okay well I've not heard the full one but I did love the snippet okay we'll check it out we'll come back in let you guys know how it is yeah I was thinking when I saw that snippet it was while I was thinking about all the kids that Rocky had um T I could at grant hustle could have been one of the biggest labels of the like early 2010s if things panned out contractually he found meek mill mm-hmm then meek ends up going to MMG found Travis Scott mm-hmm Travis Scott was on grand hustle mm-hmm ends up going to
Starting point is 00:25:59 good music Iggy I'm not trying to make a joke let's not act like she ain't have a fucking time if that was played a little bit differently and Q-tip didn't ruin her career on Twitter and then she went on only fans a lot of hypotheticals here I'm just saying of the talent I was ready to you got at least three more you can name too much of the talent. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:19 I always felt B-O-B didn't get a fair shake, but definitely had- Big, big, big records. Like, Grand Hustle, when you look at it with who they had signed, it's a label that I don't think people bring up ever. And it's like, dude, look at the roster they did have at one point. A-ball, M-J-G, and a lot of them were signed at the same time. A-B-B-G, B-O-B, Chip, Diamond, DJ Drama, Killer Mike, Meek-Mille, OMG, G, rich kids, Travis Scott, Young, LA.
Starting point is 00:26:50 And the majority of them were signed all at the same time. That's not bad. But see, that's why it goes back to what I always say about Wayne. When you're an artist and you're stealing like, because at that time, Tia was still in his prime, it's hard to have a label and to really focus and get other talent off like that. So for Wayne to be able to do what he did with Nikki and Drake, which is why I always praise Wayne for that.
Starting point is 00:27:13 He would have, he had to completely remove himself. Well, if you heard a record, because Roy, you know how this shit go. You hear a record from an artist you signed to. First thing, if I'm in my prime, first thing I'm saying, I need that. I got to get on that. Putting that on my shit. Your artist still gets to look because he's on the song, but it's like I'm the main character here. And I'm still in my prime.
Starting point is 00:27:38 So, you know, T.I had all of these talents. But at the same time, T.I was focused on T.I. For sure. At that time. Wayne was at the height of his, it was in his prime. He signs Nikki and Drake and a whole bunch of other acts. And he removed himself completely and was like, nah, let them get off.
Starting point is 00:27:57 Like I don't like, it's daytime. A lot of artists are not doing that. And that's why probably a lot of these acts that are could have me, I mean, A. A boy and JG, even when T.I had them, they were already legendary. Yeah, it was like when June had signed. Yeah, it was. They were already legacies at that point.
Starting point is 00:28:12 But, you know, the other guys to me, so we don't know what happened with that. I'm sure he spoke on. I just can't remember. He has spoken. I forgot to. Yeah. I just can't remember what happened with that. Travis Scott. I even think like T.I. did the noble thing with Travis Scott. I think the meek thing was he was like announced but not signed on paperwork. So it was a little easier. I'm pretty sure Travis Scott was signed, sign and T.I just did the honorable thing. Like if you don't want to be here and Kanye is like your idol, yeah. Like go be great. Yeah. What you want to do here. Oh, a lot of it they said was due to T.I's legal troubles and incarceration, he was unable to really do anything. And I'm sure he was
Starting point is 00:28:49 an only person on a label that had those issues. Yeah, I'm going to just go ahead and guess some other niggas had some legal issues on the label. No, I mean like, I'm saying, during T.I's legal issues, he couldn't. Yeah, during T.I's legal issue, he couldn't help anybody on his label because he's trying to survive. Yeah, I get that. But yeah, I mean, again, had that, you know, TIA with all the legal stuff he was going through, had that not happen, I think Grand Hustle the label looks a little a little different yeah oh come on fan yeah you think Travis Scott no I'm saying it's managed differently he focuses more on me can Travis like yeah yeah for sure more I saw your 2026 vision board and the number one thing on there was upgrading to the all new iPhone 17
Starting point is 00:29:35 pro and just huge letters on your vision board it's happening just plastered on your wall it's happening but I know in that vision board you were very worried about the traffic or getting to the store to transfer all your data that was just crazy on your vision board like how will i transfer the data i had data on my vision good news though when you order a new phone online with boost mobile to send an expert to your home your work they'll even paste your vision board together if you ask them and give you your new iphone 17 pro and get you set up on boost mobile within minutes no hassle visit boost mobile.com to get started delivery available for select devices purchase at boost mobile.com terms apply a win is a win a win a win i don't care

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs? Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
Starting point is 00:31:21 I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do with a little Kim? Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam J. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
Starting point is 00:31:45 I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so you all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed correct. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you for finishing that sentence. Yes. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really?
Starting point is 00:32:04 Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I went and sat on the little ottoman in front of him. And I was, hi, dad. And just when I said that, my mom comes out of the kitchen, and she says, I have some cookies and milk. This is a badass convict. Right.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Just finished five years. I'm going to have cookies and milk at mom. Yeah. On the Ceno Show podcast, each episode invites you into a raw, unfiltered conversations about recovery, resilience, and redemption. On a recent episode, I sit down with actor, cultural icon. Danny Trail, talk about addiction, transformation, and the power of second chances. The entire season two is now available to bench, featuring powerful conversations with the guests like Tiffany Addish, Johnny Knoxville, and more.
Starting point is 00:33:01 I'm an alcoholic. And without this trouble, I'm going to die. Open your free I-Heart radio app. Search the Cito Show. And listen now. I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money. It's Financial Literacy Month, and the podcast, Eating While Broke, is bringing real conversations about money, growth, and building your future. This month, hear from top streamer Zoe Spencer and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up.
Starting point is 00:33:37 If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100%. They believe everything, but at first it was just like, you got to go get a real job. There's an economic component to communities thriving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. And what I mean by fell is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes.
Starting point is 00:34:02 Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them. Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. There's a new movie. I forgot the name of it, Josh. Send Help with Rachel McAdams. It feels like I didn't watch it yet But it feels like This is along the lines of how
Starting point is 00:34:28 Castaway He's on a flight with co-workers Flight goes down On a deserted island You know the story And now she has to kind of like You know They have to survive
Starting point is 00:34:42 Until help arrives I wanted to watch it Because the trailer was dope Her boss was a complete asshole to her And naturally they go down on a flight Naturally They go down on a flight together and now like it appears that her boss has to depend more on her saving their lives.
Starting point is 00:35:02 You know what I mean? So I'm going to watch that though because I like the trailer. So what you were saying like, yeah, the wilderness, no, the hatchet, flight goes down, boy in the woods. Like, yes, that story is always old, but it's always interesting to see people how they would survive. Yeah. Under those conditions. Do you think if you were ever in that situation, that you'd end up fucking?
Starting point is 00:35:26 Like, do you think you'd get horny in that, in that time? No, like, if it's our lives. We're all human beings, man. No, we are. But if we're like, we're having to survive, we don't have any food. We don't have any drinking water. We don't have my, I'm not going to get horny. I fucked the most when I was broke, man.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Yeah, but no, no, no, Roy, that's different. You being broke. I'm trying to put it to a whole other degree. Yeah, like, when you being broke and then like, I'm starving. Deserted on an island, it's, it's completely different. Like, no, you're not going to be horn. I mean, typically how a relationship.
Starting point is 00:35:53 form like trauma bonding experiences we're going through a similar thing like I can see you starting to you know what a fuck because I've even told you in office settings office settings are like jail a woman that you would not typically find attractive if you have a nine to five jobs she starts to become more attractive yeah you see now heighten this times 10 yeah but that's not survival though in the office this is life or death we're talking about okay do you think you'd ever beat off if you were on a dessert? Like, do you think Tom Hanks, and if that was real, like jerked off at all during castaway?
Starting point is 00:36:30 Yeah, I could see him looking at Wilson one night and getting freaky. Anyone that thinks the immature conversation, I think you're immature, because this is a humanly, bodily function that keeps the population moving. It's wired in our DNA. I think I would 100% beat off a few times. On a deserted island. Yeah. By yourself.
Starting point is 00:36:50 All right, I'll ask you this. How many days? in do you think you'd be off? Day four? I don't think I would at all, bro. Nah, you would. Put some coconuts on a tree and just, that's the new Wilson.
Starting point is 00:37:05 That's Wilma. I was about to say open Wilson's mouth. Throw a little coconut oil in there. You know, that is sick, man. No, but really, I feel like if two people of the same age, yeah, you probably end up fucking. No way. It would be very irresponsible though,
Starting point is 00:37:24 because if you got pregnant, you're fucked. This is what I'm saying? I just don't think, I think y'all underestimating being, like, stuck on a deserted island. I think you're underestimating once it becomes normalcy that your body would kick into whatever it does usually. And at some point, you're going to have to nut. Okay. Well, I've, I said this other day, I said trauma makes you horny and y'all laughed at me.
Starting point is 00:37:51 So, yes, I agree. I laughed at you. I got a kid out of it. But like being on a deserted island, no food, no drinking water. Like you're thinking, like, you're scared. You're like in panic. All right. So after Tom Hanks finds all the packages and they go through that whole thing and then like four years later and he's got the beard.
Starting point is 00:38:13 He throws the spear from across the island and it lands on the fish. Oh, yeah. At that point. He's jerking it with two hands. Yeah, yeah. At that point, yeah. You figured it out. You obviously survived.
Starting point is 00:38:23 You know how to feed yourself. if you know how to like at that point yes you definitely can't so AI even though you don't really agree with AI not with not with horny questions AI says yes it is highly probable that you would naturally experience sexual desire quote get horny on a deserted island a sex as as sexual drive is a fundamental human instinct um so yeah AI feels like you definitely at some point will you know loneliness if you're completely alone your body may still experience hormonal urges and the human need for touch or release may manifest yeah and i'm telling you if you're on an island with a woman i don't care what she looks like y'all will probably end up fucking
Starting point is 00:39:03 yeah two straight people that's that's happened once you get to the point where you know we're going to survive like we can feed ourselves we can i think after that point but the first initial plane goes down second day on i no fucking way bro you this is there's no way you're you're a man Imagine setting the tone that way. Day one, hand on the knee. It's just us. I've been waiting to get you alone. Like, what?
Starting point is 00:39:30 You know, that's fuck. We don't know. All right, but if you don't know if you're going to survive, I might want to get like one last fuck off. If I'm sitting there like both of us are city kids, we're retarded, we have no idea what we're going to do out here. We might as well fuck while we have something in our stomachs and then just go die in the woods.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Yeah, because that's what I'm saying. After you have sex, as soon as you are, done, every decent person wants a snack. You want something after sex. Like, you don't have nothing. You're just out here on the beach with salt water surrounding you and just like... I mean, you probably find a, there's probably tobacco on those type of islands. Nice little sig. Yeah, but you got to eat. You're talking about, you see, you still... That kills appetite. Yeah, nah, you're tripping, man. But I didn't want you figure out how to survive yet.
Starting point is 00:40:11 But I feel like at, at some point probably during our lifetime, there will be a D-Day. I think we're just, we're just in that direction at this point. If you watch the news. The first thing you're probably going to think when they tell us the date, like, all right, who am I going to fuck? That's going to cross your mind. So to think that wouldn't happen after your FedEx plane fall like, yeah. I don't know, man. One day to eat it, your job is super horny.
Starting point is 00:40:42 Imagine, imagine crashing with somebody and then right before you're about to be like, oh, when's the last time you got tested? No, come on, man. I'm just, you're going to take this no matter what. As somebody that has had chlamydia, it would suck to be on a deserted island. Burning? Yeah. Yeah, I don't even want to.
Starting point is 00:40:58 No penicillin. Oh, God. I don't even want to know what that's about. Did any of you guys watch Lost? Lost? The show. I never watched. That came out a few years ago, right?
Starting point is 00:41:07 Yeah, it's like one of the most popular shows of all time. And not to spoil it, I never watched it. I think they all end up just like being ghosts. Like when the plane crashed, they were actually all dead. Did anyone fuck during Lost? Like, can we look that up? There's no way they had like 12 seasons and nobody fucked on that island.
Starting point is 00:41:22 Oh, definitely. I'm pretty sure there was like sex scenes on there. Yeah. Okay. Sorry, well, that answers our question. Yeah, well, but they're dead. If Lord of the Flies, if they got older, there would have been a lot of gay sex.
Starting point is 00:41:37 For sure. What was that movie with Leonardo DiCaprio? Was it the beach? The beach, yeah. Love that movie. Classic. Love that movie. No, that's a fucking classic movie.
Starting point is 00:41:45 Yeah. I'd say classic movie. Sick movie. book class. Yeah. That shit, I don't want to like jump out there
Starting point is 00:41:55 without looking at every Leo movie, but that might be a top five Leo movie. Yeah. And that's saying something. The beach is super underrated. That was his
Starting point is 00:42:03 Britney Spears, oops I did it again. Like to get him out of that kid role. Teenage, yeah. Yeah, this was his rated R R Rihanna album. Mm-hmm. For sure.
Starting point is 00:42:15 You don't remember that one, Josh? Yo, the beach. Yeah. Watch the beach. Great movie. movie. Have you watched the Matt Damon and An Affleck? The Rip. Yes. I watched The Rip on Netflix. I did watch it the other night. You didn't see it yet? I have not seen it yet.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Good movie. I will see it by the time we record again. I did watch the Joe Rogan interview with the both of them. I have a man crush on both these guys. You want to hang out with them? Absolutely. I have a huge man crush on Ben and Matt. They got a lot of shit of like trying to pretend to be the blue collar. I really think they're those down-to-earth guys. I really do think they're as cool as they come across. Are they related or just like close friends from back in Massachusetts? They grew up together in Cambridge, Massachusetts, once high school together.
Starting point is 00:42:59 Okay. But this is also one of those things. Like we talk about what's in the water with certain people. The fact that these two childhood friends both became A-listers like started out together, writing together, goodwill hunting. This is an insane story of what both of them have accomplished together and separately. Better act of Ben-O-Met. I, Matt.
Starting point is 00:43:25 Matt? Matt, but it's closer than I think people give credit. I think the easy answer would be Matt, but I think Ben in the second half of both their careers has caught up. In the beginning, it was definitely Matt. And that's even why Matt played the genius in Goodwill Hunting, and he played the meathead guy. But it's close, man.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Ben is underrated as an actor. Better filmography. now that one is Ben is Batman bro he's Jason born Batman or Jason born there's other Batman
Starting point is 00:44:04 there's only one Jason born the departed yeah the town all right yeah well Josh pulls that up I do recommend everyone watch the Joe Rogan
Starting point is 00:44:15 interview with both of them like it's just a really cool interview watching two people that have been in this industry since the 80s of how they've adapted to streaming. And, you know, they're also writers, directors, producers, producers, like, these aren't just fucking pretty faces with a good
Starting point is 00:44:32 filmography. These guys have been in every single aspect of the business. I love that they also are the first movie with Rip. If the movie is successful, everyone that was on the staff gets paid more. It's the first time they're trying this out. Like, if you held a boom mic and this shit is successful, you get more money, which I think is perfect. Because a lot of these guys will work with the same DP their whole career. And that guy will get his fee. And there's no back end on anything.
Starting point is 00:45:03 And they were also saying, like, it just makes the crew want to work harder for what they're doing at the time. Like, everyone is way more focused. Because if we make this better, we all get to profit from it, which I think should be in the music business. It's such a great viewpoint. Like, you know, again, as much as these guys get shit of like trying to pretend to be the blue guy. I really do think that they mean the things that they say. I really think these are
Starting point is 00:45:25 good guys that are super creative. Now, the Matt versus Ben shit, this is what Swizz and Tim need to do. We'll get into hit boy and Mike Will made it on our next episode. Yeah. But Matt versus Ben, this is Ray versus Ghost. Yeah. Like, this one is tough. Starting out with good, we're hunting is just unfair, though. So that's just like such a classic movie. You know what? Saving Private Ryan, I forgot he was in that. Well, I just want to start with what's funny in Matt Damon's filmography. Being an extra in Field of Dreams is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:46:03 Just out the gate you are extra in the field of dreams. Saving Private Ryan, does Ben have a better movie than Saving Private Ryan? Does anyone have a movie better than Saving Private Ryan? And Matt, again, is really the second half of, it's uncons. Armageddon is a classic and Ben was the star with Bruce Willis and a
Starting point is 00:46:33 crew of actors that are all A-lister's that was Michael Bay, right? One of the biggest movies ever. Who did the soundtrack? Arrow Smith did the soundtrack. We're talking about one of the biggest movies that's ever existed. Is it better than Armageddon? No.
Starting point is 00:46:51 it's like saving private Ryan is one of the greatest movies ever yeah no you're right I'm not arguing that but I'm saying oh so is Armageddon so I'm saying Armageddon's a bigger movie all right Pearl Harbor verse saving Private Ryan I think would be a more fair versus and while saving Private Ryan is better I do think Pearl Harbor despite trying to do too much with the love story is an underrated movie. Pearl Harbor is a fucking classic. They went nuts in that.
Starting point is 00:47:29 Where do you put it? I don't know. I think I'm going saving private Ryan with Pearl Harbor, though. Same. Yeah. I like Pearl Harbor. And I probably would actually watch Pearl Harbor before watching Save it Prime Ryan if it was on.
Starting point is 00:47:40 But when you look at saving Prime, it's a better movie than Pearl Harbor. Hot take, and I'm fine with the flack I'll give for it. I think the town is better than every Jason Bourne movie. I like Jason, but don't get me wrong. I just, I don't know. They're classics. I just prefer.
Starting point is 00:47:58 I can watch the town. I'll watch the town on TV with commercials. Yeah. Jason Bourne, there can't be ads on a Jason Bourne movie or I'm not watching that. Yeah. I'll watch the town with commercials. Yeah, that's how you know if a movie is really good.
Starting point is 00:48:11 If I watch it with commercials. I watch Shawshank Redemption, which takes six hours with commercials. You're going to be there for two days watching that. Which I know is a hot take, but that's actually how I feel. Also Gone Girl? underrated movie.
Starting point is 00:48:28 If we're getting into the range of Ben, I don't know. Where does that put him over over our guy Matt? Yeah. Me personally, I'm taking Ben Affleck. I think Ben Affleck is a better actor. But then you get into the departed. Departed Trump's gone, girl.
Starting point is 00:48:49 The departed or the town. Fuck. Departed. Really? No fucking way. The Departed over the town? They're both Boston. They're both crying, but they are
Starting point is 00:49:03 different movies. They're different. No, yeah, no, I'm going to town. I'm sorry. I'm the town over the departed. Leo, Jack Nicholson. No, no, no. Don't start.
Starting point is 00:49:16 Jamal Anderson. Great line up, great cast. But we just talking about the movie. Mark Wahlberg. The town is... The town just has so much great, like, it's the perfect sequence of action where it doesn't go too over the top where this just feels like an unrealistic, complete fucking mess. They pick the perfect moments for the
Starting point is 00:49:40 action and dialogue balance. The Departed, though, like, Departes up there in a Scorsese list at the end of the day. Yeah. I'm still going to town. I'm sorry. I would, see, I would put the departed more so with something like the Ocean series because it has a cast of seven A-listers that you're dealing with. Like Ocean's 11, everybody's a superstar. That to me is more a comparison than the town is just a fucking
Starting point is 00:50:09 underrated, amazing crime movie. Yeah. At the end of the day. They don't have the Departed as a classic. It says other notables for me. The part is a fucking classic movie. A win is a win. A win. I don't care what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Yep. That's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media. Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. This is a place for raw, unfilled conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated. So let's get to it.
Starting point is 00:50:48 Listen to The Clifford Show on the IHeard Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network On TikTok. On The Look Back at it podcast. From 1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 was big to me. I'm Sam Jay.
Starting point is 00:51:04 And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s. 84 was a wild year. It was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Listen to Look Back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get
Starting point is 00:51:27 Your podcasts. I'm Daniel Alarcon, and this is my friend. This is much more famous than I am. I wouldn't go that far, but I'm John Green, co-host of the podcast The Away End, with my old friend Daniel. On our podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important. Listen to the Away End with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:52:01 On paper, the three hosts of the Nick Dick and Poll show are geniuses. We can explain how AI works, data centers, but there are certain things that we don't necessarily understand. Better version of Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time. I actually thought it was. I got that wrong.
Starting point is 00:52:21 But hey, no one's perfect. We're pretty close, though. Listen to the Nick Dick and Poll show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. This is an IHeart podcast. Guaranteed Human.
