Go to vice TV.com to find your cable channel. The volume. Like, I resent him for wearing hats. You look super without a hat, too. Yo.
Starting point is 00:03:05 That was a compliment. And it's a rolling start. You look better without makeup. never mind don't keep it is that a compliment look better without makeup it is a compliment no it's not
Starting point is 00:03:17 if you tell a woman she looks out of without makeup that's a fucking that's a fight that's a fight ready to happen you're saying my makeup ugly but my shit be laid so you can't say that
Starting point is 00:03:25 I never said your makeup was ugly you never heard me say that I always tell you look baby if it's anybody that always say you look good as me so don't do not be you just make that up I don't tell you always look
Starting point is 00:03:34 no you what you say you'd be like okay you got the thighs out okay that's the way that's the way we That's the highest form of a compliment. You know that's how we give compliments? Like, what you mean?
Starting point is 00:03:43 I'm supposed to tell you like, yo, that foundation is laying on you. Like, yeah. Now, see, I'm not,
Starting point is 00:03:48 I'm not one of them. I'm not playing for the other team. You've only done like bad birthday makeup, maybe one birthday that I could think of. Niggie, you've never seen me no bad birthday makeup. Wrong bitch. That's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Wrong bitch. And who was the right bitch? I don't know. I don't know. You got to go find out. What other woman I had a podcast with? Who would be the right bitch. Yes,
Starting point is 00:04:08 but yes, Josh, I do have hair. I just, you know. Oh, and then he puts the hat back on. Leave it off for an episode. The fans love when you have it all. Okay, I'll leave my hat off. The fans.
Starting point is 00:04:17 They do. I know our demographics, and I know the percentage of men versus women. Saying the fans love it when you have your hat off knowing it's 76% men is fucking. I mean, I didn't say they were straight men, but they like one more ever's hat off. Okay, well, I'll leave the hat off because Baby Dee said I look better with my hat.
Starting point is 00:04:33 You think we have like an abundance of gay men listening to this podcast? I think you'd be surprised. Oh, no, I think I'm here for all of our listeners. from all walks of life. Happy Pride Month. For sure. Another month? I just don't know if...
Starting point is 00:04:45 The month has not ended. It's June 17th. Hey, this month is going by slow. It's been Pride Month for like a year. Baby D. This is why I'm saying, I don't think we have the biggest gay audience. This was a perfect example of why I thought that. I'm just saying, like, how long is June is all I'm asking?
Starting point is 00:05:05 How long? 30 days. 30 days, yeah. Because May flew by. Well, that's because it was my birthday and, you know, things. Yeah, but why can't be somebody else? Nobody else to hit birthdays in June? No June birthdays?
Starting point is 00:05:17 No summer birthdays, actually on this podcast. No summer birthdays. Thank God. We keep the Gemini's out of here. Yeah, and filth. Leo's too. How many Geminias do you think we have in our fan base? A lot.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Why do you say that with such confidence? They still watch y'all work too because, you know, Gemini's Two-Face. My bad. That's hilarious. That's actually hilarious. That's actually pretty funny. like they still watch your old work. They two-faced.
Starting point is 00:05:43 We're recording right there. The episode has started. Hey, we are back. We are back. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers. Yes. Happy Father's Day. Well, okay.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Thank you. Happy Father's Day. Yeah. To all the dads out there. All the real fathers, the fathers that are present and active and show up for their family. Happy Father's Day to you all. I know a lot of people like to say, people don't care about Father's Day.
Starting point is 00:06:04 It's not like Mother's Day. We got to start giving more respect and emphasis on the great fathers out there. like Rory and other dads, Benner, you know, the great dads of the worlds, man. I felt like this Father's Day, like people kind of cared. It feels like it's kind of picking up some steam, right? In 2025 Father's Day. Listen, listen, in 2025 Father's Day, last year was my first Father's Day, so I had it from a different lens.
Starting point is 00:06:27 So I was really focused on if people were praising or not. I felt like 2025 Father's Day may have been the most active appreciation I've seen fathers get. Like, I even saw women saying nice things. Yeah. Like usually I would see on socials like, like, what about the moms on Mother's Day? Yeah. Like happy Father's Day to all the mothers out there. I'm like, bitch, there's fathers out here.
Starting point is 00:06:48 Yeah, there's great dad. There's great dads in the world and we need to highlight them and let them know that they are appreciated. So salute and respect to all of the great fathers of the world. Hope you had a great day of relaxation. Adam Silver, we got to talk. I don't know how we didn't have a game on Father's Day, how we didn't have a final game. I just don't know what Adam Silver was thinking when he made the – he put the – yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:09 I just don't know what he was thinking. But either way, happy Father's Day to all the great dads around the world. Yeah. And I mean, I also noticed when people were asking me what I was doing for Father's Day, it was like, oh, you're not used to active fathers in your life because I want the day off. No, I don't want to see them are. Yeah, I don't want my kids. It's only for dads that don't, like, really hang with their kids like that.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Yeah, like, today's the day, we're going to do this. Yeah, social media. You got to make it seem like you're there every day. We're going to go to a brunch when it's packed, overpriced eggs. I'm not doing that. Yeah. Leave me the fuck alone today. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Did you get a lot alone? I did. Oh, what did you do? Um, I cleaned my shower, like thoroughly, thoroughly. There you go. You know, like when you breathe in all the, I was high as fuck this today. There you go. I was out of my mind off bleach.
Starting point is 00:07:55 But yeah. You have a glass shower. Do you have a squeegee? Yeah, of course. Yeah, I love squeegee in my shower. But even when I turn like the bathroom fan on and open all the doors, that bleach just, it gets, I can still smell it on my. You know, I found out at 35 years old, You're not, you're supposed to wear gloves when you clean with bleach?
Starting point is 00:08:11 Oh, you didn't know that? You're, like, inhaling it through your skin. Yeah, no, my hands still smell like bleach. And I was told you, you need to wear gloves. Yeah. Same with when you cut onions and your fucking hands and body smell like onions for like a day. Yeah, that happens. Well, onions is different.
Starting point is 00:08:26 It's not toxic. Bleach is a little. Bleach is a little crazy. But it absorbs through your skin. Yeah. Yeah, I did that. Then I met my Irish cousin, isn't out, linked up with her, found out some things that I don't even think we could put on Patreon.
Starting point is 00:08:42 You found out some things from your... Was this your first time meeting her? No, no, no. This is the same one that when we were in London that Edin was trying to go home with. Oh, okay, that cousin. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So she's in New York now. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:54 She brought her friend Rory. Okay. I got some tattoo ideas. Uh-huh. He went through his whole lineage. I was like, I'm taking a picture of this and copying all the Rory shit that you have on your forum. But yeah, found some things. I don't really know if that's my cousin.
Starting point is 00:09:06 So you were hanging out with your cousin and found out that she may not be your cousin? She's definitely not my cousin. Wait, what? So what is she to you? Listen, man. Maybe Patreon, explain it. I was just texting where I sent her the address
Starting point is 00:09:24 because she was going to stop by today. She's like, I'm walking on the Brooklyn Bridge. I don't know if I'm going to make it. Still thinking about our combo. Walking on the Brooklyn Bridge, don't know if you make it. Is she okay? Because that's a little scary. Somebody texts you, walking on the Brooklyn Bridge,
Starting point is 00:09:35 don't know if I'm going to make it. She had the same suspicions that I had. I'll just put it that way. That's all. Okay, this sounds like somebody's uncle or dad might have somebody's mom. Anyways, I know those stories. It's good to know that. Happy fathers' day.
Starting point is 00:09:50 It's good to know that white people have the same issues and families as black people. It's good to know that. Okay. And then also her brother who does not call me. Matter of fact, I didn't even know he had my fucking number. We talk on WhatsApp. I'm close to her. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:03 Called me at 9.06 a.m. that means he spoke to her exactly and she told him about y'all conversation exactly and now he's trying to call you and kind of smooth things over and kind of like give some insight I get it yeah yeah so we have the same issues
Starting point is 00:10:17 in black families yes I love this type of thing I went to Godfrey show Thursday after we recorded without us well none of y'all wanted to go everybody just had other things to do I forgot about it I came back they all was like weird mogul they were like Godfrey show I'm like oh my God I wanted to go yeah how you wanted to go on your left night I forgot about the show until you guys said that.
Starting point is 00:10:38 DeMaris do that a lot. Demaris did that a lot. Her leaving comeback game is crazy. Like after we record, we got to start watching her. Cameras be moved and shit. What is she doing? Like, her leave and comeback game is vicious. I left and came back.
Starting point is 00:10:50 What time did you come back? I came right back. I went to a middle. No way. I left here at 8.30, DeMarry. You did not leave there at 830. Pete, what time did I leave? Yeah, it might.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Well, we stopped recording at seven. And I was here for an hour and a half. So you left. I went and had dinner. I went and had dinner. waiting for Rory, Rory clipped me, didn't have dinner with me. So I came back and met him and we went to the Raq Kim, not Raqin, we went to the release party. Rayquan.
Starting point is 00:11:13 So you chose Rayquan over Gawfrey. You know, didn't say that. It's okay. No, no, no, no. I may have chosen a purple tape over, over Gaffrey as well. Well, a couple of mistakes happened. Of course, I wanted to see Godfrey, but I had the record off-road available now featuring Miss Sego and Freddie Gibbs.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Had that coming out at midnight, I didn't know if, if Godfrey, like, do you have to put your phone in a bag? No, no. It was just, I just didn't feel like it would be the best environment for me to. just be promoting you may have had to i mean obviously i didn't because it's you because it's me godfrey that's fan but i will say this goffrey gave one of the best stand-up shows i've ever seen in my entire life wow like he absolutely killed that shit like that was one of the funniest i always knew goffrey was funny but seeing him like on stage in his zone that was one of the funniest
Starting point is 00:11:58 i cannot wait for that to come out he because he shot his special that night cannot wait for people to see that it was absolutely hilarious um and i think that this special is going to be the one where people start talking about gopher because he's been funny and anytime you've seen goffrey do a stand-up whether it's been bt wherever you've seen him he's always funny but seeing him in a full stand-up for almost two hours absolutely hilarious yeah i should have done that because i regretted we went to the raekwon thing which i was excited for because raequin Damaris saw for the first time what I've been trying to tell you guys forever.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Everybody calls me more. Oh, people called me Roy too. I didn't tell you that the other day. I meant to tell you that Thursday. When we were in L.A., so many people called me Rory. Like, Nick was with me one time, and Nick was like, all right, what about you says your name is Rory? Yo.
Starting point is 00:12:49 I'm like, yo, I don't, I didn't even answer one, dude. He was like, oh, Rory, what up? And he's standing right in front of me, and I just didn't even look at him. You guys know I'm easily annoyed. And the event was great. but I was just already trying to get the lyric video together.
Starting point is 00:13:01 I was already on edge about everything but the Rayquan shit. And I have this person in my fucking ear going, maw, maw, maw, ma'all, ma'am. I said, do I look like fucking Jamal? Because you got to add the jug because apparently, do I look like a fucking Jamal? And then I turn around
Starting point is 00:13:19 and I've known this motherfucker for 15 years. Oh, that's crazy. I'm not going to say his name. That's different. I used to, when I was working for Shaw Money at Def Jam. This guy was working at Def Jam too. I used to deliver flyers, cipher session flyers to this guy's fucking crib. Then I ended up in the studio with him with Mike Geronimo for a minute. Like, I know this guy.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Yeah. Since I was 18. Yeah. So why's he calling you more? Why are you calling me more? And he was dead ass. I was watching it because he was behind. So, Rory was talking to one of our friends and he was behind Rory. And he kept like tapping him like, yo, mall, mall. And I'm sitting up there in real time. That's hilarious. Because he wasn't being funny. He was like, dead ass like he's spilling drink on roaring shit like yo mall oh so maybe he was a little drunk you're not that drunk there's no way you're that drunk if i know that there's a rory and a
Starting point is 00:14:07 jamal and i'm looking at the white man i'm gonna assume that he's the rory i'm not going to assume that that's a safe that's a safe assumption like i don't you know like it was it was painful to why i just saw this person in a studio with my drama and had a full-blown conversation about the deaf jam everything yeah exchange numbers texted why do you keep tapping me on my shoulder and calling me more that is crazy Yeah, people in L.A. was definitely calling me Rory and I just was staring at them until they figured it out. So I was like, oh no, I'm all my back.
Starting point is 00:14:34 I'm like, oh, no, I'm all my back. I'm like, what's up, man? How you doing? Fucking Rory? So at this point, I'm annoyed. And I'm like, yo, Demaris, let's just leave. Like, I just want to, let's get back to Jersey, wait for midnight. Get in the car, open my fucking phone. And who showed up right after me and Demaris left? Nas.
Starting point is 00:14:55 That's true. Oh, yeah. That's shit. That's shit. That shit hurt my fucking. Yeah, I did see the gnaz was there. He said he wanted, he said he was going to show love to Ray Kwan, wanted the show for his event, but he said, yo, I'm going to leave,
Starting point is 00:15:06 go around the corner smoke weed and listen to the album alone. Like, I'm not listening to the album here with you, niggas. I'm out of here, but I had to come show Ray Love, yeah. And my, it was like an intimate. It was in a store. It was intimate, like, that would have been a cool setting to see Nas and Ray Kwan just chill. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:22 But because someone kept calling me more, I was like, let's get the fuck out of here. Yeah. That'll run you out the room. Like, Rory ain't even finish his drink. He took his drink with him. Like, we were walking down the street, like with his drink. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Yeah. He was pissed. Yeah. Well, I mean, it sounds like we had a great Thursday night. But, again, I cannot wait for y'all to see Godfrey stand up whenever they decided to put that out. Shout out to this team, Rachel, Amanda. They did a great job and make sure everybody was accommodated. Everybody was cool.
Starting point is 00:15:49 So again, shout out to Godfrey. Who was the one that was here? Rachel. Rachel. Rachel's the best. Yeah, they did. I mean, she was in her executive producer bag running all over the place, but, you know, everything seemed like it went well. And again, I can't wait for you all to see it because Gaffrey was absolutely hilarious.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Do we think we'll get, like, you know, when they like pan to the seats to like people go, ha-ha, like, do you think we'll get a mall cameo? Well, the cameras, the guys was walking around with cameras, but, you know, we're not paying them, no mind. So maybe. But I was standing up on the side for most of the show, and then Rachel saw me. She came to saw him in that she, it was some seats like in the front on the bottom. Okay, I was watching a whole hour special, like side stage, like you had a rap concert. No, no, no. I was in the audience.
Starting point is 00:16:34 You know how the Apollo is. I was against the wall because all this, it was sold out. So I just was like, yo, as long as I can see the stage and I'm not blocking anybody's view, I didn't care about standing up. But then after a while, Rachel had got some time to walk around and she saw me. She was like, nah, she was like, come sit in the front. So it was like some seats right underneath the, you know, the orchestra thing. Yes. There was some seats right underneath there.
Starting point is 00:16:53 So like I heard with comedy specials like back in the day they would actually like pay people to go like 30 minute comedy central shit and they would put like the most attractive people in the front imagine like going to a comedy show and you sit in the front and they like no we got put you in the back only only pretty people will be on camera for these for these last put you in the back like underneath the like all the way behind the lights let's put you back behind yeah the light just hit you a little too much like y'all has me to be here now I'm being disrespectful Yeah, it was a cool night, though. The Apollo's under, like, a lot of reconstruction, too. They didn't even go through the main interest. The main interest is, like, close. You have to go through, like, Hunt26 Street side. Oh, interesting. Like, I guess they're doing the whole front of the household was,
Starting point is 00:17:35 which is good, though, because it needed a facelift, you know, as old as the Apollo is. But it was dope to see everybody. And the gentrification and all that. Well, I mean, as long as they still keep it Apollo, you know what I mean? Just make it a high rise. No, no, no, please, God. We don't need more high rises in Harlem.
Starting point is 00:17:49 That's the last thing we need to haul them. But it was great, though. I just watched our mayor. on stream with Amber Rose and Sneco talking about bringing a strip club to New York City. Like I could walk outside right now and see someone sleeping on the concrete. Right outside this spot.
Starting point is 00:18:05 Yeah. But we need more strip clothes. I mean, both can be true. Yeah. We do need more strip clubs in New York. I will say that. Good strip clubs. But we can't have good strip clubs. Crime is running rampant. I mean, yeah, but... Studio apartments are five grand. There would be less crime.
Starting point is 00:18:21 There's children that are hungry. If they would allow the strip clubs. to get fully naked. You know nothing has changed? Do you realize that nothing has changed? There was a clip going around on Instagram or people in New York City in 1984 talking about what needs to change in the city
Starting point is 00:18:34 and things that are wrong. They were saying the same exact shit we're saying. Yeah. In 1984. Politics. Nothing has changed. Well, I mean, if things changed, then no one would have a job.
Starting point is 00:18:45 You've got to keep shit fucked up so everyone can get paid to pretend to fix it. Yeah. That's all it is. It's crazy, man. Our mayor. on stream with Amber and Sneco. How long is,
Starting point is 00:18:59 how many years do he got left? I feel like he'd been made since before the pandemic. I think his time's coming to an end. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. The elections, there's elections. His time is coming to a complete end. Like, I know politicians don't have to answer
Starting point is 00:19:14 for any of the wrong that they do, but like, Sneco? Who is Sneco? Exactly. Streamer. Respect. Yeah. I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:25 I'm just saying. He shouldn't be sitting with us either. I'm saying what the fuck is going on. Listen, man, that's, you know, he's the first, I guess, social media mayor. He's the one that lean, he's trying to lean into the youth and, you know, I mean, that's how he paints it. He's trying to seem like he's, you know, he's in tune with the youth and he does not paint it that way.
Starting point is 00:19:46 He is, he really outside. That's not him painting anything. He's really outside. Look at the issue. He was in D.R. two weeks ago smoking hookah at some restaurant in Dominican Republic. He just be... I guarantee you he's going to be a podcaster next. He already podcasting now.
Starting point is 00:20:03 He's a streamer. He's all kind of shit right now. He's French Montana's hype, man. He's everything. Speaking of which, if you guys are, if you live in the Brooklyn area, especially if you live in the Brownsville area and you are voting this week, my sister, Bianca Cunningham, is running for New York City City Council, D-41. So she's very pro-union, pro-racial. justice and equity in public education
Starting point is 00:20:24 and pro rent freeze so please go vote for her rent free rent freeze oh I'm about to say she got my vote free we're going to vote as a family get her in the get her in the office immediately rent free yes sir we vote for her in Brownsville
Starting point is 00:20:42 $5,000 for a studio it's crazy fucking in fucking Brownsville it's crazy what did she think of Eric Adams no comment that's not for me to comment on none of them like Eric Adams None of them like Eric Adams. But yes, everyone vote, get out there. I feel like I shouldn't vote
Starting point is 00:20:58 because I voted for Eric Adams. We can't trust your fucking judgment. Some people I feel like voter remorse, you should have to sit an election out. Like, look what you did. Yeah. The Guardian Angels? Oh, I thought you voted for the Guardian Angel.
Starting point is 00:21:16 No, I voted for... Oh, I remember that. Now I remember that election when the Guardian Angel was running. It was either him right? Yeah, yeah. I was... Who's my...
Starting point is 00:21:24 my Asian guy. This probably need to get cut. Andrew Yang. I was, I was Yang Gang all fucking day. And I was like, no, he's not really a New Yorker. I was like, maybe we need somebody not from here. Shake this shit up a little bit.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Yeah. This guy makes sense. Nah, they want a loud fucking idiot. And Eric Adams seemed like he was the right choice, like going into the election. It seemed like no former cop. It seemed like he had to see. There was a balance. I was like, all right.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Cool. Somebody in the middle. Yeah. He looked like he had the complexion for the election. He looked like he had the complexion. for the election and then it's just like he got in there and it was just like homeless people by the thousand sleeping in front of
Starting point is 00:22:00 the hotels on the floor, let's give them $5,000 debit card. I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Who is paying for all of this? Then he's at fucking Sam and Jimmy's in the Bronx every weekend. Salsa Campoigo. I'm like, this nigga's a DJ? He was, I'm just like,
Starting point is 00:22:18 it seemed like going into the election Eric Adams was the right choice and then he got in there and it just all went to shit. And like it annoyed me that his DJ transitions were good. Like, why you even have time to do this? Yeah, and then he was offering us money to have a migrant stay in our house. I'm like, what is he?
Starting point is 00:22:35 Have a migrant stay in your house? Like, it was just crazy, man. Mayor Adams job approval rating. He was trying to pay people for slavery. Yeah, like that. Bro, it's insane the left turn he took once he got an offer. And then he said, if you guys won't house them, we'll make them lifeguards.
Starting point is 00:22:52 That's a direct quote. He said they're good swimmers. He said they're great. Swimmers, how do you know that? Please explain to me how you know to these migrants are great. It just makes you feel stupid because I was sitting here on the same thing. Like, all right, man, he's kind of in the middle cool. But I didn't think at the time he's standing next to Curtis Levo.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Of course he looks great. Oh, my God. Mayor Adams' job approval rating drops to all-time low of 20% Quinnipiac, Kwynipiac University, New York City. Poll Fines, 56% of voters say Adams should resign from office. I'm with those 56. It's 57%. Oh, it's in March?
Starting point is 00:23:28 Oh, it went up by it now. That was March. Yeah, it's about 87% now. Yeah, he's out of here, though. He's done. Let's hurry up and get him out of here. Let's get him out of here. Let's get Adams out of here.
Starting point is 00:23:38 I don't even know who's running now. Who's running for mayor now? Please. Cuomo? Yes. Cuomo that had to step down? They just had to step down? Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:48 He's running. Yes. He stepped down from governor because he was accused of sexual harassment. And now he's, he's running for mayor? Yes. Bro, what fucking simulation are we living in, bro? But you got to think, like one of the bridges is named after him.
Starting point is 00:24:02 No, it's not. They took that away. What are we talking about? Yo, this, you know, New York City is not a real place, bro. This is crazy. Cuomo is running for mayor? Yes. But don't feel like there are no other options.
Starting point is 00:24:15 There are other options. Please look up Zoram. I'm Donnie. He is for the people. Please look him up. Eric Adams was for the people. No, no, no. Eric Adams was a cop that you all voted for.
Starting point is 00:24:26 I didn't vote for Eric Adams. Oh, okay. The last person I voted for was Obama. I have not voted for any of these niggas since Obama. Let's just be clear. Oh, you gave me Bloomberg vibe. You gave me Bloomberg by. Never. Never voted for Bloomberg.
Starting point is 00:24:41 Never. Don't do that. When the towers fell and you saw Rudy out there with a hat, he was like, yo, he should be president. We all did. Listen, everyone can have revisionist history. I hate Rudy Giuliani too. but everyone acting like we didn't think that was God
Starting point is 00:24:56 in that moment. In that moment. September to December in 2001, you are a liar. In that moment, I'm not going to lie, when Giuliani was out there in the rubble, he was talking this talk with the president. It was hard not to hear rising up back on my... It was hard not to hear in your head is all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:25:12 It was hard. It was hard not to hear the Rocky theme song looking at Rudy Giuliani. But look what wins us over. All he did was go down there and look at the rubble. That's it. And we was like, Wow.
Starting point is 00:25:24 This is our guy. He was like, there's an American. And let's not act like when Cuomo during COVID, when he threw on instead of the suit, he had the polo on to make it feel like he was one of us. Yeah, yeah, they always do that. I could have a beer with that guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:36 All he was doing was reporting on COVID numbers. And all of us was like, yo, this could be the next president. Yeah. He was reading a fucking paper of stats. And myself included was like, finally, Democrats we got. Like, this is the future of the party. I love when...
Starting point is 00:25:48 He didn't do shit but read a stat. I love when the mayors, like, put on like, their hoka sneakers. and then roll their sleeves up and then make it seem like they're out there in the field doing the work just get your ass back in the office you ain't doing shit man
Starting point is 00:26:03 we've all fallen for the button up shirt and a shovel in their hands I don't know why we fall for it's the crazy emotions but that's what politicians especially good politicians what they specialize in is playing to your emotions they don't have to get shit done as long as they play to your emotions well please go out and vote we need a new mayor
Starting point is 00:26:20 and don't vote Cuomo whatever you do but that's not happening right now Yeah. That's going to be later on. For mayor? Wait, mayor's not June 24th. Oh, thank God.
Starting point is 00:26:32 Yeah, let's get to it. Let's get Adams out of there and let's get Cuomo out of there. I don't just, no, don't anybody with Cuomo, please. Jesus Christ. New York City isn't. Oh, man, I don't, when are we moving? Let's get the fuck out of New York, man. Let's get the fuck out of New York, man.
Starting point is 00:26:48 Get the fuck out of New York City. This is crazy. Didn't we talk about Austin? We talked about Austin. Austin a couple years early. It's just expensive. Yeah, man. That's just like New York with better taxes.
Starting point is 00:26:58 If I'm going to Texas, I'm going full, no taxes. Yeah. Texas is looking like Texas is a Florida. Yeah. No, why not? Florida is a, that's where people go to die. Florida? Who goes to Florida to die?
Starting point is 00:27:15 Everybody. Everyone. Oh, people and Y. Somebody dead wore these pants that I thrifted in Florida for sure. These came off a dead body for sure. Yeah. people go to Florida to die. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Either the Yans go to kill each other and then the old people go like to retire. That's like the New York. That's our Oregon Trail. But that's like, we go from New York and Florida to die. But it depends on what part of Florida. Like you're not going to Fort Lauderdale to die.
Starting point is 00:27:40 That's exactly where they go to die. Yeah. I thought it was Orlando. I thought Orlando was the place you go. Orlando too. Fort Myers. The magic went there. They died.
Starting point is 00:27:47 Right. Wait, they were somewhere else before? No. I'm just saying ever since Shack and Penny left like they've been dead like you know what I mean like it is what it is oh wait the Orlando magic like the team doesn't exist anymore no I don't no they exist they were just in the playoffs
Starting point is 00:28:01 Amaris oh okay they're actually doing pretty good listen just joke Florida is a very interesting place it's not the South it's its own fucking state but Tamarish just think about the money that you owed the government earlier this year yeah and like erase it
Starting point is 00:28:16 that's why we want to go to Florida I wouldn't pay them nigs anyway but I feel you it would be nice not to owe. Yeah, man. You just say you're not paying the IRS. I ain't going to pay them anyways, but. I mean, I feel you, though. Yeah, that's when they, she don't even know they hear that.
Starting point is 00:28:30 We got Demaris. She gets home. We got her number. Let's get her. The biggest is coming to get their money, DeMaris. That's one thing they're going to get. I got re-ordid for 2019. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:40 I thought we've been through this. Yeah. I thought we've been through it. I thought we spoke about this. What is it? Double jeopardy. There's nothing here. Like, I paid job.
Starting point is 00:28:48 Now y' y'all find more shit? Damaris, you just moved to Brooklyn, too, right? I did just move to Brooklyn. Congratulations, Damaris. She's now a Brooklyn girl. Brooklyn, BK.K. Maris. BK.D. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:01 You BK.K. Baby, D. What you mean? Yeah, no. Damaris's about to be outside, outside. Living in Brooklyn, she's about to just go on random walks. She can't wait to get her random walk on. She doesn't know how safe Jersey was keeping her from the outside. For Jersey, definitely kept me enough. When you in Brooklyn, it's like, all right, fuck, I'll just go.
Starting point is 00:29:18 I'll just go. Yep. But no, you know, me and Alex are going to start doing our hot girl walks again when we walk from Harlem to the Lower East Side. Fire. Yeah. You discover more about the city. There's always different pop-ups.
Starting point is 00:29:30 You get your walks in. You try different coffee shops. Like, I like those type of walks. I don't know about walking around Brooklyn. I'm cool. You know, what's funny about you guys moving and the difference of mall giving the best promotion to the movers to help their business. And I just watched Damaris kill some movers business over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:29:49 Bruh. Of just posting how bad they were at everything. I was like, well, there's their ad. Because I hired Tass Grabbits. That's my fucking fault. Oh, yeah. God. That's my fault.
Starting point is 00:29:59 Them niggas drag their ass. They make, what, 70 an hour? 156 an hour. Oh, yeah. They're going to drag that out. It's going to take them two hours to get that dress out. You got to scroll all the way down and find the crackheads. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:11 For like 30. And they know how to wrap couches. I like my shit. Yo, they ain't wrap my white couch right. Fuck my white couch up, bro. Oh, man. Like, I was. so fucking angry because I was partnering with
Starting point is 00:30:21 different moving companies but the moving companies are like tight now. They're like, oh yeah, we'll give you half off your move but we also want five deliverables. Are y'all, how do y'all fucking mind? Y'all want me to pay y'all $900 and also give you five deliverables, three story posts, a Google review, a real.
Starting point is 00:30:39 If you don't suck this skin off, absolutely not. I'll pay the task rabbits. I'll pay them full price. I'm not doing that. I know my worth. I sent, niggas my rate card. You see what I charge for real. Why do you think you're going to get five, like five deliverables for nothing? I'm out of here. So no.
Starting point is 00:30:53 All right. So now you got a dirty couch. Yeah. Listen, it's what it is. At least the feed is clean. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:59 You know what I'm saying? The feet is clean. Cout dirty. Feet clean. I'll get it. I'll get it fixed. But yeah, I hire task rabbits.
Starting point is 00:31:05 And I top of that, the niggas get my money back because I paid half of it off the app. You know, you do the first two hours on the app and the other half in cash. You get a little discount. Yeah. Reporting niggas. That's smart. I had, when I moved to the spot,
Starting point is 00:31:18 I'm in now. I had the moving guy was a pod fan like just happened to be he tried to barter with me because I guess when I filled out all the application shit
Starting point is 00:31:28 I left one staircase out like I didn't count properly and he was like listen I could just charge you for this extra staircase that we had to go up or post my man's shit he rap
Starting point is 00:31:41 I was like charge me a staircase what's the fee for the staircase? Yo not he rap please How much is the staircase? Yeah, I'll pay that.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Don't worry about that. You charge me for the staircase. And I didn't even know I was the thing. Yeah, that's good. No, but it is. They charge me for stairs. It's like $50 per staircase. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Oh, I had my favorite recognized moment of all time on Thursday. What? I was at the playground with Amara, and a child came up to me and said, my dad watches you on TV. Oh. I was like, oh, man, that's cool. That's dope. That's so cool.
Starting point is 00:32:20 That's who we do it for. We do it for those moments. Those are the moments. It's all about the kids, man. Yeah, it's all about the kids. Those are the moments. Each one's each one. Yes, man.
Starting point is 00:32:26 We're all community. That's what it's all about. That's so cool. That shit was hilarious. Well, congrats on your move, baby Dee. Hopefully stay out the Brooklyn Streets. Summertime is upon us. Don't be out there acting up.
Starting point is 00:32:36 No. I think I'm being in a relationship by August September. Oh, my God. Here we go with this shit. I'll be out the street. I'll be out the street. So, we're good. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:32:45 What's next on a document? Toronto shows up for Kendrick. You want to talk about that? Yeah, let's talk about that. Everybody been in my mentions. Everybody been hitting my phone. Yeah, man. But you know.
Starting point is 00:32:56 We tried to tell you it was a shitty take then. Yeah, but you know what it is, man. I'd be underestimating how many fucking goofies are out here. Oh, my God. How many idiots are out here in the world? Like, y'all went and showed up for somebody that was shitting on y'all. Toronto is the third largest city in North America. Right.
Starting point is 00:33:13 You don't think Kendrick Lamar. fans out here. We know Kendra Katz fans of Toronto, but I just, you know, people were supposed to, that show, you were supposed to not go to that specific show.
Starting point is 00:33:24 But you know, why? Because he's sitting on the city of Toronto. Is he? What the fuck you think they not like us? Who you think,
Starting point is 00:33:33 who's they and they not like us? You think you're specifically talking like about... He's talking about Canadians. All of Canada is crazy. That's exactly who you talk about. He was talking about Canadians, Tarantoneans. to be exact. I thought he was trying
Starting point is 00:33:47 to separate between people that are of the culture and the people that are not. And he's saying they're not like us and Oh, that's what you thought? It's definitely not what he was saying. Yeah, so all you idiots in Toronto that brought a ticket to that show, just do
Starting point is 00:34:03 us. Didn't they become us if they were at the show singing in? No. Maybe they wanted to become us. No. That's why they're exactly why they're fucking goofy. Anybody that went to that show as a Torontoian is a goofy. You can't go to that show, man. You just can't. You're not supposed to.
Starting point is 00:34:19 Got to stand for something. Can you just say that you were wrong? About what? About what? That you were wrong about your take, about, yeah, say, I was wrong. I thought that they were going to, he was going to get laughed out of the arena. He didn't. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:34:31 I mean, listen, man. Cisor was there too, though, so. Oh, my fuck. Okay. We got to give scissors some props. Does not act like a lot of people wasn't there to see Cizard? We're not doing that. I think people were there for one of the biggest artists.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Okay. Cool, yeah. So do you think anyone, from Queens is allowed to go to a KRS One show. In that moment, no. Now, today? If Keras, yeah, today, yeah. So when he does the bridge is over,
Starting point is 00:34:55 Queens keeps on faking it. You're not allowed to enjoy Kara. Kyrus 1 wouldn't do that. That's not a part of his set. I'm sure he performed it last night somewhere. In Queens? What I'm talking about in Queens? You said in Queens.
Starting point is 00:35:08 He would perform in New York City. You said in Queens. I'm saying in New Yorkshire. All right. He said in Queens. That's what he said at first. I'm sure Karris won has performed. the bridges over in Queens before.
Starting point is 00:35:18 And I'm sure people from Queens were they're going, the bridge's over. The bridge is over. Let's find it. Let's find it. We could go on the search internet. Googling KRS won one, Queen set list.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Yeah. With members from Queensbridge there. I'm willing to bet that KRS won't never perform that song in Queens. I'm willing to bet that. I'm also willing to bet that we'll never know because we. How it's the internet. We can find anything. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:42 We can find you rapping on the internet. Can you relax? we can't find KRS one rapping? Yep. In Queens? Was everyone holding up their like IDs to let you know where they were from? Think we got one here. I guarantee you, Josh doesn't have it.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Damn, it's in the title. Well, let's see. I'm off of being wrong. I mean, yeah, he's performing it. Fast forward, Josh. See, that means the Bronx won. Oh, no, the Bronx definitely won. We back.
Starting point is 00:36:21 Then we knew that, Rory. That's not what we're trying to figure out here. We know that. Well, I mean, listen, man, I think it's fine that any Canadian went to go see somebody they enjoy. Is that the wrong with that? Clowns. So you're saying you were wrong because you had more confidence in the greater Ontario area? No, I mean, we obviously know that Kendrick is who he is.
Starting point is 00:36:48 Like, people were going to go to a Kendrick show. but to see people from Toronto Crip walking Like what are y'all You don't think of scripts in Toronto? I don't know But to be cripp walking at a Kendrick show And being in a, you look stupid.
Starting point is 00:37:02 And they're going to think I'm hating But I want to see the tour But what is that section that they keep posted? Is there like a gang section? Yeah, please. No, no, hear me. No, I know that. But have you noticed at every single stop,
Starting point is 00:37:16 not just in Toronto, there's a specific area that's open where they could fit way more people. And it'd just be like 10 gang members they're dancing the whole time at every stop. No, I haven't been. They don't be a girl. It just be...
Starting point is 00:37:28 People dance like crib walking? Yeah. I haven't noticed. It might be part of the set. Listen, or they buy me from the set. Rep your set. I'm saying? I mean, shit.
Starting point is 00:37:38 That's a cool gig. Yeah, but that was disappointing to see, I ain't going to lie. That was nasty. It's over, man. No, it's not. Yes, it is. No, it's not.
Starting point is 00:37:46 What's over? What do you mean what's over? This entire thing. like oh oh yeah yeah the beef shit yeah nobody cares about that that I mean for me that the Toronto show was the end of it for me I guess yeah that was probably the one thing people had marked on their calendar yeah that's see if me that was the that was the that was the end I mean who was the politician that said I went for scissors oh to uh my here's the thing I thought it was I thought it was I that Drake posted that even though I laughed but because we got this reaction
Starting point is 00:38:18 I'm happy Drake posted that. I went for Cicester. How you start copping, please. Jackmeet Singh. I went for Cisna. I went for Cizza not Kendrick. So why you ain't leave when Kendrick got on stage? That's my whole thing.
Starting point is 00:38:32 Why you ain't leave? Soon as soon as a Cizzer set was over, why not leave? He wanted to hear all right. Because niggas is lying. He went there to see Kendrick. I went to the G&X tour, not to see Kendrick. Yeah, just stand on it. That's my only thing with all of this.
Starting point is 00:38:48 shit. Stand on it. That's all. I don't care what's a. Just stand on it and stay there. No. Ma. I am tired of seeing phone plans and think that is a great price. Then I get the bill in the mail, and it's not what they said. With boost, you pay $25 a month forever. That's unlimited talk, text, and data at $25. 5G speeds not available in all areas. After 30GB, customers may experience slower speeds. Customers will pay $25 a month as long as they remain active on the boost unlimited plan. A win is a win.
Starting point is 00:39:25 A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media. Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tapped Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs? Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim? Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam J. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode, with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 was big to me not just because of crack.
Starting point is 00:40:57 I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so you all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you finishing that sentence. Yes. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really?
Starting point is 00:41:16 Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault and Our Stars, and now I guess also as the co-host of The Away End, a brand new world soccer podcast. I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist, and John and I have known each other since we were kids. My first World Cup was Mexico 86. I was nine years old. I watched every game and I fell in love. On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international. national football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup.
Starting point is 00:41:52 For us, soccer, football, is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan. I love this game. I love its history, it's hope, it's heartbreak, and above all, it's beauty. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Listen to The Away End with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you already know there's a lot to break down. Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man. They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew. Pinky has financial issues. I like the bougie style of Housewives' show. I think it looks like it's going to be interesting. On the podcast, Reality with the King, I, Carlos King,
Starting point is 00:42:51 recap the biggest moments from your favorite reality shows, including the Real Housewives franchise, the drama, the alliances, and the team everybody's talking about. As an executive producer in reality television, I'm not just watching it. I understand the game. As somebody who creates shows, I'll even say this. At the end of the day, when people are at home, they want entertainment.
Starting point is 00:43:14 To hear this and more, Listen to Reality with the King on the IHard radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Good music has come out. Like, that Lil Sims album is probably my favorite album the year so far. Shout out to, I love Little Sims. That shit is incredible. It's separate.
Starting point is 00:43:37 But, like, her last three album run has been insane. The last one was completely different. All Dance. This shit is fucking spoken word and Neo Soul. That shit be making me tear up the shit. positive affirmations and shit. Like stop trying to make me feel better about myself. Stop trying to encourage me to do positive things.
Starting point is 00:43:57 That shit is incredible. Also, Slick Rick came out, victory. It's incredible. You guys need to absolutely listen to the Slick album. It's not like some Will Smith shit where it's like, damn, I really just don't want to hear from our legend sometimes. Like he sounds like 2025 in 1988.
Starting point is 00:44:16 Come on. It doesn't feel dated. He's rapping, rap. Like Slick Rick is in shape. Everything Mass Appeal is doing with these projects, I applaud. Like the same way we talk about we were happy that week of the Joey Badass thing because like hip hop got, you know, it was trending for the right reasons. Hip hop one. Like there's actual rap is being highlighted.
Starting point is 00:44:35 That's what Mass Appeal is doing. And I think we need to sing their praises as much as possible. I'm going to definitely check out that Slick Rick project. I think that's dope that Slick Rick is 2025. He's rapping, making albums. Like, I think, you know, guys that you, you know, part of the foundation of hip hop when they're able to still make music. And years later, you got to at least listen to it and just hear what they, you know, hear what they did and what they came up with. And if they're still in shape.
Starting point is 00:45:00 Like, I would like to know if Slickrick is still in shape still got his storytelling, you know, like he's one of the greatest storytellers in hip hop history. So I'm definitely going to support that album. And I believe it was paired with a doc because they premiered it over the weekend. I was too old and tired to go to it. But, you know, Mass Appeal is pairing everything with great visuals, doing that with Rayquan as well. Like, I don't know, man. I just, I think what everything Mass Appeal is doing is what every label should focus on.
Starting point is 00:45:30 Like making sure artist friendly, artist first, visuals first. I just think they're incredible. Yeah, I got to check that out. Shout out to La Cayley 47. She dropped her new album for promotional. Roy loves it. Use only. Le Cayley is.
Starting point is 00:45:44 I went to a show over the weekend. Yeah, she had a show Friday, right? No, Saturday. Saturday? I was going to go to that. I caught up doing something though and I totally forgot. I was like, fuck, the show was tonight. But shout out to La Cayley.
Starting point is 00:45:55 That's my people, that's family. I always say, Roy, a lot of these girls now that are rapping and making out, they all got some inspiration and took something from LeCaley. She's been visually, aesthetically, her style for years, what she's been doing. I mean, it's been incredible. She finally took her mask off and now people know what she looks like. So shout out to her. to Lakeley, that's family. I love you. And check out for proportional use only. I'm mad you didn't come. I was, listen, man. I was part. Was Trice there? Latrice was there?
Starting point is 00:46:25 I didn't see the truth. I was partying with the gays. Yeah. I was in the mosh pit with the gay. Had a little gay mosh. Just jumping up and down. A little gau. It's okay to have a little gay mosh, you know what I mean? Because it's not really like the aggressive mosh, but it's kind of like, you all, y'all just bump into each other and kind of just like. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. you know, exchange numbers once they bump in Tee. It's flirting. Yeah. It's like, you know, oh, you're here too.
Starting point is 00:46:52 Like, okay, oh, you look good. Like, you know what I'm saying? That type of shit. That was my first time seeing her perform live and listen. No, LeCaley. He knows out of fucking control. A crowd. LeCale's in correct.
Starting point is 00:47:02 Breath control. Just her tone. She's a performer, performer. Yeah, she can outwrap most of these. She outwrap a lot of guys. But most of these female emcees, she can outwrap. She can sing. And just aesthetically, the style,
Starting point is 00:47:15 everything is just, It's just dope. It's fly shit. She brought like three guys up to like Vogue for one record. And one of them just stayed on stage and was her hype man for the entire. And then I was sitting there at a very paused moment. I was like, man, gay's got stamina. How the fuck?
Starting point is 00:47:33 How you vogue for two hours straight? I'm exhausted from just jumping. Yeah. Yeah. You got to be in shape to be gay. It takes a lot out of you. Takes a lot. That's why gay niggas be so strong.
Starting point is 00:47:43 And Bill, I'll be telling you all. You got to be strong to take dick in your ass, baby. Then you can't. My fucking. Keep it. I don't think that was disrespectful. You know how strong you got to be to know somebody about to put a dick in your ass and you stand there and just take it? That takes a lot of strength.
Starting point is 00:47:57 That takes a lot of like, yeah. This is what real allies look like, by the way. I just want to let y'all know. Like, we really allies of the community. Yeah. I love gay people. Like, what do you mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:07 And at one point, I went back to the bar and catch my breath. And then I found myself, like, watching trying to learn some of the. you was vulgar in the way of I didn't think of YMCA and what the fuck was that they just kept doing this thing to do in the back arena yeah that means I'm sitting in the back trying to get the steps together
Starting point is 00:48:24 no that's just the third base coach sending the run of the second that's what you was doing sending the run of the second that's all you was doing right there and it's so funny how quickly like gay men can like sniff out
Starting point is 00:48:36 a straight ally a normie and like be happy like you're one of the good ones yeah yeah yeah you're not weirded out by none of I love it, man. But yeah, it was a really good time. I'm mad I missed the show though.
Starting point is 00:48:47 I totally forgot about it. I'm so mad. I was like, fuck. Because I wanted to see. I haven't seen Le Cayley perform since probably like, last time I was so maybe 2019. So I was mad. I knew the show was coming up and just lost track of the days. And it was like, damn, it was probably like midnight when I realized that the show was
Starting point is 00:49:03 that night. Well, she'll be on the show in July. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So she was like, I shocked that you guys like, when I got the email and you guys accepted, I was like, you don't think. We would have you one.
Starting point is 00:49:15 She's crazy, man. That's family, man. She's no better than that. Rory had a YG called my phone. A YG is the girl version of a YN. And she's like, yo, we about to go. I thought that was, um, the rapper from this. I was like, wait, I was.
Starting point is 00:49:27 No, I call them YGs. They're like female Yens. Call me like, yo, I'm about to come get you. We about to go shark some shit. Now, it's YN language. I don't know what the fucking mean. So then I then go to TikTok whenever I have to figure out what like young girl languages.
Starting point is 00:49:42 I go on TikTok and shark apparently is a song that they have It basically means like you're about to like steal somebody like Like somebody shit like you stealing somebody little shit Like I'm about to shark you know what I'm saying Like you about to come through and steal somebody man or still some my bitch Okay Or like you know what I'm saying or like go do some like grimy shit But that's what it means that's sharking
Starting point is 00:50:01 It's like new Yian language So I'm trying to keep y' all up with all like the young kids language So somebody says I'm about to shark some shit And I'm with my girl That means somebody's about to try to take my girl Yeah Oh somebody's gonna die in the beach that's like if y'all are actively going out here trying to like take somebody's
Starting point is 00:50:17 like girlfriend or boy like you're gonna die playing that that's when you scream sharkisha no oh yeah you got to yeah you got to charquisha no yo I'm glad I wasn't the only one lost in that conversation I was saying like what the fuck is what are we about to do yo oh yeah well she kept saying that she was like we gotta go shark some shit and I'm like what the fuck so after I got off the phone I said no I'm stay in the house but you guys have fun I went on TikTok and said what is sharking and that's what came up man we left that show and all hype. We was about to go to strip club.
Starting point is 00:50:44 We got outside the strip club. I was like, oh, you want to go home? Just left. Didn't even going. Why not? I was exhausting. Oh, yeah. And I didn't know what type of sharking we was about to do.
Starting point is 00:50:56 Yeah, no, I don't want to. Somebody said, let's go sharking. I'm cool. I don't want to do nothing. No shark. I don't want to do nothing with sharks. If you got some dolphins hit me, I fuck with the dolls. I'm in the house, man.
Starting point is 00:51:05 You start sharking. I'm going to know. Had some otters or something. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But I just, I feel like because I'm the youngest on the show, it's my job to keep y'all young but like even that was too young for me so i just wanted y'all don't know
Starting point is 00:51:16 listen i just learned death scrolling and bed rotting so oh bed rotting at those that's the best what is bed rotting when you just rot in bed when you just lay there you just exist in bed scroll on your phone eat food watch tv like you're rot i never like i always wanted a term for that and bed rotting yeah i'm just gonna i'm gonna bed rot and death scroll at the same time doom scroll maybe doom scroll is always on your phone all day yeah yeah yeah like you just bed rot yeah yeah you just bed rot yeah you just bed rot yeah You just scroll. Oh, you have to do it together. You don't have to do it together.
Starting point is 00:51:44 They can come separately or together. They kind of go hand-in-hand, though. Like, if you're bed rotting, you're probably going to dooms scroll. Bed rotting and doom scroll. Yeah, I can make your bedrock. It's all I was singing once I learned with the derm one. You would be singing that. God damn, you old as fuck.
Starting point is 00:52:00 That's what, that's exactly what Rory would be. I want to make your bed rot. I was laying in bed rot just screaming, I can make your bed rot. Even though Mall was getting killed for the old Kendrick take about Toronto, I did see a lot of people agreeing with him on the Wayne thing. And I'm here to argue. I think every legend we've had has dropped a dud. Every legend has not dropped a dud.
Starting point is 00:52:21 A dud? First of all, do you know what a dud is? Where we can unanimously say that shit is trash. Do you think Eminem is a legend? Yeah. Do you think Eminem has dropped a dud? Yes. 15 of them.
Starting point is 00:52:33 I'm not going to go that. That's a little while. Sorry. By JZ standard, I think Blueprint 2 was a dud. You don't get to say by JZ standard. No, but that's how he's... We only compare legends to themselves. No, we don't.
Starting point is 00:52:44 No, we don't. We compare legends to other legends all the time. We talked about when he last week, he wasn't comparing them to himself. We was comparing it to albums that dropped. That shit is a dud. I'm not huge on Nas' untitled album. Not going to say the real name. Is it a dud?
Starting point is 00:52:59 But that's better than... His worst shit is better than everybody else's hot shit. So like... Yes, it was a dud. Nah, I don't think it was a dud. He had to change the name. Blueprint 2 is not a dud? it's the bottom of his
Starting point is 00:53:12 That doesn't mean it's a dud I'm sure like numbers wise I'm sure it's sold but Wayne is doing what 150K first week That's not a dud But Blueprint 2 People would kill to sell that People only A list rappers right now
Starting point is 00:53:24 Would kill to do those first week numbers Yes those numbers It's not a dud Those numbers they would That music they wouldn't So what's a dud then Okay so now let's have that conversation If you feel like Blueprint 2 is a dud
Starting point is 00:53:37 Why do you feel like a dud? Because most people don't like Blueprint 2 because they feel like it was too much music. It was, yeah. There's a double disc. A lot of duds on it. I don't know if it's a lot of duds. Jay, he took some chances.
Starting point is 00:53:47 The Sean Paul thing to me disgusting. Wayne took some chances too. I hate that record with Sean Paul. We didn't need that one. But I'm not going to say that album was a dud because there's some crazy records on both of those discs. Okay. Magna Carta.
Starting point is 00:54:01 I don't think it's slap the shit out of you. I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to seem. I enjoy the album. But all that anticipation, you in jungle studios with fucking mobile providers you sell a million records before the shit comes out because it's on our phones
Starting point is 00:54:18 Is it a dud? The anticipation for that album became a dud Yes, it got killed that first week Why are you you catering it to is it a dud? Don't tell me the anticipation that week So now it's a dud, no. Most people would say if Jay-Z had a dud It would be Magna Carta
Starting point is 00:54:34 I do not agree with that But most people would say that Magna Carta has gotten a bad rep I think it's like I agree with Rory. I think it's a way better album than people give it credit for. But most people will say that back to her. Is it a dud? I do not believe it.
Starting point is 00:54:44 You put it in a show no dud. Do you invented 5G with it and you're in the studio, Rick Rubin and Farrell talking about a metaphor for fucking the ocean. Okay. And then it was just like, all right, this is what you were doing the entire time? So do you feel like Magnicard is a dud? I'm telling you. Not in the scope of J's discreet.
Starting point is 00:55:07 geography, you, when you listen to the album, you feel like it's a dud. After he tried to break down the C-SIC line to Farrell and Farrell went, what? Yeah, it was a kind of a dud to me. No. After the speakers blew out with Timmerlin. He dancing. He dancing.
Starting point is 00:55:20 You got your thong on and you're shaking ass. You guys won't tell me what a dud is, though, because I tried to go with a definition of numbers. So no, Magna Carta would not be that. Now you guys are telling me his music. That's subjective. What's a guy? I like Magna Carta, but the consensus when that shit came out after Timberlin,
Starting point is 00:55:34 July 4th watching fucking whatever game was on where it was announced. Timberlin blew his speakers out, which ended up being the worst fucking drums I've ever heard my life. Yeah, it was a dud as far as the critics and fans went that week. I like it, but no one else did. Okay. I mean, I think also a lot of the times, dud can be subjective. I think that that's why I ask what a definition was. We all feel like, y'all are dancing.
Starting point is 00:55:58 No, I'm not dancing. I feel like the Little Wayne album that he just dropped was not good at all. I feel like there's a couple with joints on there that's like, okay, Wayne is still in shape. We still rap. We agree there. But the music to me is just not. I will never go. Like, if I don't go back to it and actively play like at least half of the album, I feel like
Starting point is 00:56:13 that's a dud. If I don't go back to your album and play at least half of the tracks, you got 16 tracks. If I'm not going back and actively listen to at least eight, nine, that's a dud to me. I mean, if we're talking about legends that actively, actively drop, you can't name one outside of maybe Michael Jackson that has never dropped a dud. They would say Michael has a dud too. What's Michael's done? I don't, I'm sure someone would say that Michael has a dud.
Starting point is 00:56:39 I can't remember. I mean, well, people, we just seen. He freed a whole killer whale. Was it butterflies that they said was Michael's dead? Who said that? No. Where they had? Find them.
Starting point is 00:56:48 Find them. Find them. Find them. Find them. We need to. We need to talk to this person. Like, everybody did cut his router off. Like, I think outside, I think the big three are legends, but I don't put them
Starting point is 00:57:03 there yet as far as people have been dropping music for 25 years. That's the people I'm talking about now. Yeah, I think eventually you're going to drop a dud if you stay active. And we've seen it with our legend. So Wayne is allowed to drop a dud. Is it a dud or is it just like that's the worst album you dropped? Because this is a difference. Okay. But that's why I say
Starting point is 00:57:23 you can only compare legends against their own discography. Wayne's worst work is better than most people's favorite rap albums than the new era. Will you go back to Wayne's last? album and play at least half of those tracks? Probably not. So then that's a dud. But you also are saying that legends can't drop duds but said Eminem is a legend and we can
Starting point is 00:57:42 all agree here that dropped out. I said legends can't drop doth. Meaning that if they if a legend drops an album that's not good, like we hold them to a higher regard. So like with the Wayne shit, because you was like, no, it's okay. I'm like, no, it's not. Like when you're a legend, you can't drop a dud. But Eminem has?
Starting point is 00:57:58 He has. And it happens. But I'm saying that you don't get a pass. Because you was trying to give Wayne a pass for dropping a dud. Nah, you don't get no pass for that. This gentleman right here, Rory, says, I agree with Maw. Thank you, Waltz. I agree with Maw.
Starting point is 00:58:13 If Wayne dropped an okay or just a good album, the combo is completely different. But if you're in the convo of one that the greatest ever and you drop a dud, that it has to be made known that it was, okay, then. Then it has to be made known that it was a dud. Yeah. Okay. I don't feel this way. but do you think the consensus of the general public
Starting point is 00:58:33 after black album happened, he retired, came back, was showing what you got, do you think Kingdom Come was deemed a dud when it came up? Kingdom Come? Yeah. I'm not going to say it was deemed a dud, but a lot of people didn't like it. I'm not going to say dud, though.
Starting point is 00:58:51 A lot of people didn't, I don't think it sounded the way people. I like it. I think it probably has one of the best intros. Lost One is one of my favorite songs. There's so much shit on there that's incredible. but let's not all act. Like, everyone didn't say that was a fucking dud when it came out. I don't remember if everyone was saying it was a dog.
Starting point is 00:59:07 I stood in line for the fucking reflective cover. I don't know. And then we all opened it and was like, I mean, could stay retired. I don't know. I can't speak to that, but I didn't feel, me personally, I didn't feel like it was a dud.
Starting point is 00:59:19 Okay. I didn't feel like it was a dud. I'm talking about what the general public thinks. Oh, I don't know what the general public was saying about that. That's exactly what. Well, yeah, did that come out? Oh. Oh, yeah, I don't know what the fuck the general public was saying.
Starting point is 00:59:32 That niggins said, what did you say? Oh, anything. Oh, anything. What was kingdom coming? No, because, uh, wait, American gangster was what, 07? So Kingdom Come was... Maybe two years after that. No, because Kendall Come was the...
Starting point is 00:59:45 Peach. 2003 was Kingdom Come. Oh, hell. No, I don't know what the general public in. O'3? I was what these niggas was thinking in 2003. I was in second grade. We didn't even have social media, did we?
Starting point is 00:59:56 Oh, my God. More. After the Black album, fade to black when he handed the keys to the city over to you and bleak he disappeared and then came back gave us a reflective cover that we'd never seen everyone was disappointed as far as the public went yes that was the overall consensus anywhere you went was like i'm not saying you wrong i'm just i don't remember that coming off the black album retiring going to deaf jam yeah everyone at that time that first few weeks everyone was like it could have probably just stayed retired this ain't your return out but
Starting point is 01:00:23 people going i do i remember that consistent yeah i was like all right now we're just rewriting history that is I don't remember that. You was like 16. 15. He wasn't even 16. He was like 10. Get the fuck out of here with this take. You hear this shit,
Starting point is 01:00:38 peez is Milwaukee. How the fuck do you know what people with the general consensus was? TV. The TV. That's back we used to watch. MTV. You act like a 14 year old isn't talking to people?
Starting point is 01:00:49 What the fuck are we talking about? You had to be home before the shoot like 10 years old. I was 14. I was in high school. And you still had to be home by the time dinner was done. You didn't know what the general public was. thinking? You don't know what? What does it have to do with ghetto techno? You don't do, well, that, that's different. You're talking about a song. I'm saying the general
Starting point is 01:01:06 consensus about the album. I don't remember that. Kingdom come came out 2006. P's game in the wrong year. I was 16. I was driving. Yeah, you still don't know what the general consensus was thinking of. Not at 16. You know, that's impossible to know that at 16. Duh, I had, your world is so small at 16. You don't know what everybody is thinking. I get what you saying, but kids run them. run the music industry and run hot in the music industry. Teenagers and young adults, yes they do.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Run the music industry. Is that what you just said? When it comes to what's hot and what's popular, yes, they do. That's why y'all don't understand the allure of Playboy Cardi. How the fuck they run it was hot and what's like? They can't even speak. That's now, but back then the kids decide what music is going. Everybody appeals
Starting point is 01:01:51 to kids. You know that. Everybody is trying to appeal to 13. Jay Z has never tried to appeal to kids. He has never made an album for kids. Let's stop that right there. Are you about to tell me 16-year-olds are not listening to Jay-Z in 2006? I did not say that. What's what planning me on right now?
Starting point is 01:02:08 I'm saying to Damaris's point, Jay-Z has not made an album thinking about kids. Of course not. That's all I'm saying. That's all I'm speaking to. I'm speaking to what she said. He's never went into the studio and said, I'm making this album for kids.
Starting point is 01:02:20 So what do you think singles are for? Like, why Jay-Z is so successful is because he catered his music to a wide audience. No, hard knock life was definitely for 40-year-olds for sure. It's got an anti-hook. The kids are literally on the fucking hook. So that means it's four kids? Not that it's more kids, but it's going to appeal to kids. That's different.
Starting point is 01:02:41 And when I said kids, I'm not talking about babies. I'm not talking about children. I'm talking about teenagers and young adults. One of my early memories of the radio is more money, more problems being on the radio because I found it. I didn't know what the fuck they was saying. It was catchy. Yeah, that appeals to kids. catchy songs appeal to kids
Starting point is 01:02:58 MTV catchy songs appeal to anybody what do you talk about BT 106 in Park MTV all of those things were they appealed to kids not children but to kids when they went to the window
Starting point is 01:03:10 it wasn't a bunch of 40 year olds like yo salute it was a bunch of kids in their parents yeah but that's again I'm not saying that what you're saying is wrong I'm saying
Starting point is 01:03:17 these artists are not going Jay Z in particular is not going in the studio making album thinking about what are the kids going to think about this that's not what he's doing. He's making music
Starting point is 01:03:28 and whoever likes it likes it. But it's not for kids. Of course. But back when Jay-Z was also young, he was making music for people in his age range. No? You don't think that that was happening? Yeah, but again, you're talking about rap.
Starting point is 01:03:43 Rap is a young, first of all, rap is a young sport. Number one. So it's going to appeal to a younger audience just by the nature of the culture. But when you talk about his content and what he's saying and what he's talking about, that's not. That's not, he's not rhyming and rapping and telling you fiends could catch a freeze off my kneecap. He ain't saying that for kids.
Starting point is 01:04:02 Of course not. No, just like. All right. So I'm just saying he's not making it for kids. It's going to appeal because it's hip hop. It's rap. This is what kids in the city. This is what they listen to.
Starting point is 01:04:12 This is what they see. This is what they grow up around. But they're not the ones that determine if that, if it's hot or not. Like, no, that's not. But see, that and that's just where we're going to have to disagree. We're going to have to disagree. That is who determines what's hot or not. because those are the back in those days, back in 06,
Starting point is 01:04:28 when, again, when you had to get your music video premiered on certain things and you were trying to get people to buy your albums and you were marketing, you were marketing towards younger adults because younger adults are more likely to spend their money on that type of shit or beg their parents to spend their money on that type of thing. Why was the fourth quarter at that time, always the time when rappers put out their albums?
Starting point is 01:04:48 It was because Christmas. Because kids are going to ask their parents to buy the CD. Yes. That's why? Yes. Because of Christmas? Or because it was the end of the year reporting for the labels and then the numbers had to match for the year. And what is the highest consumer rate is in?
Starting point is 01:05:03 What are you talking about? Call your brother. I guarantee you, he'll say the same thing. Just call your brother. Call your brother. But it wasn't just for Christmas though. Daw, that's the highest consumer rate at that time. People are spending the most money.
Starting point is 01:05:14 Kids are asked. That's why they put out everything at that time. What are we talking about? That's a fact in the world, not just music. Yes, Christmas time, people buy gifts. I get that part. Christmas is catered around, buying. gifts for kids. Kids are not the only ones they receive gifts during Christmas. What I'm trying
Starting point is 01:05:27 to tell you is when rappers put out music, kids didn't make it hot. Kids got, kids found out what was hot based on what the older niggas in the hood was listening to. We're saying numbers, but separated hold from everything is because you appeal to so many people. I only knew Snoop was hot because the older niggas on my block said he was hot. I only knew DMX was dope because the older niggas on your block were the older niggas on your block 20, 21, 22, or were the older niggas on your block 35, 40. It ranges from 20s to 30s to 40s. It was a bunch of old dudes on my block.
Starting point is 01:05:59 But what I'm saying is, so you being, so you can get the old consensus. Me being 13, 14, I only knew I only knew Snoop was dope because dudes that had cars, older news that was riding around listening to had the girls. That's what they was playing. And I'm like, shit, I want to listen to that.
Starting point is 01:06:14 In between 19 and 30, maybe. They were not 45 years old. They weren't kids, though. Back to this. They were not kids is what I was saying. But I, but I, but I, but I've been clarified that when I say kids, I mean teenagers and young adults.
Starting point is 01:06:26 People from the ages. Well, that's not kids. That changes everything you just said. You can't take kids. You're saying making content that's not for kids. Isn't like Eminem's whole entire career why he blew up was because of kids. And his content was way crazy than Jason.
Starting point is 01:06:42 Never for kids. Never for kids. That's what separated Eminem from everything. It was because the kids, myself included, it felt like, damn, this is dangerous to listen to. like I hope my mom doesn't know that I'm listening to this shit
Starting point is 01:06:54 Nikki Minaj fans as well Nikki Minaj's fans were all young kids like they were young kids her music was not poor kids the intention isn't the intention is to go to a wide audience that is the intention yes but the kids are
Starting point is 01:07:09 is what's going to make you hot period like period if you don't have the kids there's only so far you will go there's only so far you will go if you don't have the kids you can have the kids and not have the adults hence the Playboy Cardys hence the ice spices you can have the kids and not have the adults and still have an amazing career, but you can't have the adults and not have the kids and blow up like that.
Starting point is 01:07:29 It doesn't, unless you're already a legend and you've already had the kids and the kids who are now the adults were your fans back then. It just doesn't work like that. You do need the teenagers and young adults to make music pop. It's just always been like that. Did you know the public's views of volume one when it came out? Volume one was 97. No, the public views no.
Starting point is 01:07:53 Not at all. I knew the views on the people in my neighborhood. Yeah, this is what I'm talking about the beer. The people around you, yeah. Yeah, they fucked with it. But you, how old were you? 16. 16, 15, 16.
Starting point is 01:08:05 Yeah, so why can a 16 year old know what the fuck people think of an album? No, you told him out, you said the general consensus. Yeah. No, you knew the people in your radius in your neighborhood. You didn't know the general consensus of what this album that came out was. You knew the people what the people in your neighborhood was saying about. it. You knew what the people in your barbershop were saying about it. Yeah, that's a, that's not a thing. That is a thing. But when you say, General, I'm thinking, you thinking like the entire, like,
Starting point is 01:08:31 what is the entire fucking country saying about this artist that just dropped? Like, how we know now, when the artist dropped, we can know what everybody is feeling about it or what everybody seems to be feeling about it. It wasn't like that in 97. What are you talking about? For the most part, everyone has similar thoughts. Not exactly. Depending on the regions and things like that, because I grew up thinking that the general consensus was that Jay-Z was the best rapper to ever have. and then I started meeting niggas from the South and they looked at me like I had seven heads.
Starting point is 01:08:57 Yeah, but that's, but that's, but again, and that's false too because a lot of niggas in the South fuck with Jake. A lot of biggest from the South do, but a lot of niggas from the South do not look at Jay the way that we do. It's not the general consensus that it's well known that Jay Z is the greatest rapper of all time in the South. It is not looked at like that. Yeah, but there's a big debate.
Starting point is 01:09:13 I just feel like this is. In New York, there's a lot of people in New York that don't feel like Jay Z is the best rapper ever. Yeah, but we look at them like weirdos. Because they are. But I think this is a semantic. We don't claim. And no, I can't prove it, but everyone knows how Kingdom Come came across in the beginning.
Starting point is 01:09:28 I would have to agree with you. As I had a father who was a Jay-Z fan. I would have to agree with you. It wasn't actually till way later when everyone was like, yo, remember we used to kill this album? This she's all right. You heard what she just said? Well, her father said about the album.
Starting point is 01:09:41 Somebody older. Okay. And then that's how she felt about the album. Yo, at 16, I knew people that were 20. I know that sounds insane, but, yeah, like, I knew older people. I'm not saying you didn't. I'm just saying you didn't. I'm just saying you got most of what you felt from an album
Starting point is 01:09:55 based on the older people that were around you and what they were saying how they felt about the music. That's just how it's always been. But I felt at 16, 17, Black album was better. Okay. You can still listen to it. I went to Fade the Black to the movies to see it. Like, I was a Jay-Z fan.
Starting point is 01:10:13 I'm not saying you can't listen to something and no matter what age or not feels. It wasn't older people telling me it was bad. I was like, this ain't, I mean, this ain't that. But because it don't always go like that because I also, my father thought Soldier Boy was the worst thing to ever happen to music.
Starting point is 01:10:24 My father also thought that Drake was the worst thing to ever happen to music. And I used to sit and play fucking Drake, Sousja Boy, all of that cranked that shit, all of that lean with a rock with all of that. I used to make my father sit down
Starting point is 01:10:35 and listen to it. So there was, no matter how trash he told me it was like, I insisted that it was good because it was good to me and because it was good to my peers. Yeah, you can still listen to it and how you feel.
Starting point is 01:10:44 But I'm just saying most of where you get your taste in music, you hear artists now when they sit down and speak they talk about what their parents were playing in the house yeah absolutely they talk about older people were playing in the cars
Starting point is 01:10:56 like that's where you get your influence and how you see how people are around you are feeling about music that's coming out that's where you pick that up from it's the older generation it's like okay
Starting point is 01:11:06 they're fucking with that this is what's playing outside when I go outside everybody drive past they're playing this in their car that's just what it was yeah that's how you fell in love
Starting point is 01:11:14 with most of your music you would hear it you would hear it moving around outside hearing it in cars, hearing it playing out of somebody's window, like that's what it was. And then you would be like, y'all,
Starting point is 01:11:23 I need to go get that mixtape or that CD. I need to go play that. Then you start playing it on your way to school, listening to your headphones, like, but you found it from older people in your neighborhood. That's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:11:34 Like that plays a large part of it. For sure, but it doesn't shape an opinion. No, no, no, doesn't shape an opinion. But I remember arguing about volume three. That is a special place in my, I like that album more than most people because it was like one of the first CDs I've ever had.
Starting point is 01:11:48 But I've heard people, tell me like, yo, you like, what's the song Mariah Carey that Swizz did? It's like one of the worst JZ songs ever. It's like one of my favorites. Well, Mariah. There's a most sweetheart. No, that's, um, that's JD. It's like one of the worst Swiss beats ever.
Starting point is 01:12:02 It's the things that you do. Every look, so. Oh, I know she's on. Yeah. I remember everyone killing that and I loved it. Like, yeah, that song was dope. That doesn't shape your opinion, but I guess the environment would. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:12:17 We just went on a tangent. I know Pige's pissed. It wasn't a bad tangent. I mean, I guess we can go to voicemouth. No. This episode is sponsored by Roe Maw. You cannot spell Rory without Roe. And Roe will help you grow.
Starting point is 01:12:33 You can't spell grow without Roe. That is a fact. Roe Sparks are a two-and-one prescription treatment for guys who want a more controlled erection mall. In the bedroom, they just call me R-Roe. Who's calling you that? While I row merrily down their stream. Roe Sparks works faster than other treatments, Rory,
Starting point is 01:12:49 because they dissolve under the tongue and go down. directly into the bloodstream, which is probably helping you at that moment. While that's true, don't tell me about my moments. Plus, Roadsparx stay active in the system for up to 36 hours, where I know you don't have to stay hard the whole time. But when you get aroused, your body will respond. If you're approved, the treatment will ship directly to your door. So the moment you see the mailman, you know what time it is.
Starting point is 01:13:11 It's a secret, though. Don't tell nobody. Of course. If prescribed new sexual health patients get $15 off their first order of sparks on a recurring plan, connect with a provider at RO.co slash RoryMall to find out if prescription Roald Sparks are right for you. That's R0.c.O.com for $15 off your first order. A win is a win.
Starting point is 01:13:33 A win is a win. I don't care what I'm saying. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media. Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
Starting point is 01:14:41 I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim? Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam Jay and I'm Alex English Each episode we pick it here unpack what went down And try to make sense of how we survived it Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill
Starting point is 01:14:58 Waxing all about crack in the 80s To be clear, 84 is big to me Not just because of crack I'm down to talk about crack on day But just so y'all know At this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack So I'm starting to see that there's a through line
Starting point is 01:15:13 We also have AIDS on the table right now So Thank you for finishing that. sentence. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Starting point is 01:15:27 Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault in Our Stars, and now I guess also as the co-host of The Away End, a brand new world soccer podcast. I'm
Starting point is 01:15:44 Danielle Alarcon, a writer and journalist, and John and I have known each other since we were kids. My first World Cup was Mexico 86. I was nine years old. I watched every game and I fell in love. On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. For us, soccer, football, is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan. I love this game. I love its history, it's hope. It's hope. It's hope. It's heartbreak, and above all, it's beauty.
Starting point is 01:16:20 Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important. Listen to the Away End with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you already know there's a lot to break down. Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man. They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew. Pinky has financial issues. I like the bougie style of Housewives show. I think it looks like it's going to be interesting.
Starting point is 01:16:55 On the podcast, Reality with the King, I, Carlos King, recap the biggest moments from your favorite reality shows, including the Real Housewives franchise, the drama, the alliances, and the team everybody's talking about. As an executive producer in reality television, I'm not just watching it. I understand the game. As somebody who creates shows, I'll even say this.
Starting point is 01:17:17 At the end of the day, when people are at home, they want entertainment. To hear this and more, listen to Reality with the King on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. You've got mail. Yes, we do have voicemails, Rory, but this episode of voicemails is bought to you by Boost Mobile. I'm feeling boosted right now. $25 a month, unlimited data, talk, and text forever. Forever. Forever.
Starting point is 01:17:50 Forrest. Hey, what's going on, y'all? This is Taylor from Jersey. I would just listen to your recent episode. You know it's Taylor. You know it's Taylor. Taylor, Taylor. Taylor.
Starting point is 01:18:01 Taylor. Taylor. Taylor, Taylor, don't ever call here and say, this is Taylor from Jersey. Don't do that again. We know exactly who you are and where you're from. Stop saying who you are and where you're from, Taylor. Just say, yo, what up?
Starting point is 01:18:16 Like, we know who you are. And FaceTime us next. Yeah, yeah. Where you guys are giving advice for a voicemail? reminded me of something my friend had gone through. So me and my friend went to a party. She met this chick there, look good, right? Very, very attractive.
Starting point is 01:18:32 She seemed cool. But a couple weeks later, they wound up, linking up at the girl's house, drinking, kicking it. One thing to leave, you know, at least another, they have sex. Right after they have sex, though, Shorty rolled over to her talking about, oh, there's a conversation that I want to have with you. I usually had these conversations beforehand, but we were drinking. and things got carried away. But I just want to let you know that I have HSV-2.
Starting point is 01:19:00 And she went on to say, oh, I haven't had an outbreak and all these years and yada, yada, y'all. I'm taking medication. My friend handled this a lot better than I would have because, like, I feel like that's an assault on my life, so I feel like I can assault. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:19:16 That's why I focus. I feel like I can assault you now. I don't hit women. But have you guys been in the same? in a situation or you know someone has been in a situation where they definitely should have been told something before they slept together.
Starting point is 01:19:32 Like especially when it comes to obviously STDs, but just anything in life that's like, bitch, you should have told me that before we got to this place. Let me know. Yeah, saying that after the fact is fucking wild. Like. I can respect.
Starting point is 01:19:52 Okay. that's wild as fuck. I can respect her saying anything at all because there are plenty of people who know they're walking around and look with that and they say absolutely nothing ever. They never say anything.
Starting point is 01:20:04 You don't know until you find Avaltrex in their motherfucking medicine cabinet. I'm sure most people have slept with somebody that has herpes later. Yeah, especially in this hookah. And never got it, just slept with somebody that had it. Yeah. So her rolling over and even telling her is,
Starting point is 01:20:19 I know that that probably took a lot, but I also cannot blame the person for being like bitch like how Taylor said like this is an assault like so I understand both sides that's rough that's yeah at that point because you can't control what someone's going to tell you I know it sets like a nuts question but would you rather them just keep it to them fuck it's because I would bug out like you know we just fucked and you're telling me this now yeah I don't know but is there a right time to tell them is there a right before yeah before I have sex which was the perfect time to tell me yeah
Starting point is 01:20:52 Because again, I'm sure that's also hard. Like you don't want to be on a date and like in the middle. Before like you get too cozy, you just want to let you know. I have HSV too. I can see someone feeling weird about that. But you have to tell them before you fuck them. Yeah. I mean, I think that's the only correct thing to do here.
Starting point is 01:21:11 You tell people just so, you know, you always give people an option a choice. Like when you take the choice away from somebody, that to me is where it's like that's fucked up. Give people the choice and the option to. you know, protect themselves and go forward with sex with you if they, if that's what they want to do. But when you take that that option away from people, that's to me where it's like that's totally fucked up. It's going to sound nuts and I'll probably be judged for it. But if we just fucked, I don't know if I'm just, let me find out. Like just telling me that like, all right, now what do I do that information? We already fucked. What am I going to go do now? If she don't tell you
Starting point is 01:21:49 before. Yeah. If we just finished fucking and then after we're done, she's like, yo, by the way, I have ages v2, have no outbreaks, you should be filed. Like, what am I going to do with that information? Not fucking in. Well, obviously that, but yeah, I'm not like waking up in the morning and hitting again, but I don't know. What do you do with that? I mean, now you know, now you have a choice.
Starting point is 01:22:13 No, because to me, that's more selfish on their end of clearing their guilt. Yeah. Like, that's all that shit is. Like, you did nothing but give me, but stress me out. Yeah, like now, all of a sudden. And I'm just thinking, and it's not like, well, you have to wait for an outbreak. Like, you're just sitting here like, okay, now what?
Starting point is 01:22:30 Yeah. Yeah, keep that shit to yourself if you weren't going to tell me before. Nah, you still. You're not a good person for telling me after. I'm just, that's what I'm saying. Oh, no, if you don't tell before, period, like before you have sex, even if you used to tell after, you still fucked up.
Starting point is 01:22:45 Because it's like, you should have told me this before we had sex anyway. But maybe I just have too much anxiety. Like, I will be judged for this take. But if you weren't telling me before, Don't tell me after. Nah, you tripping. Hell, nah. Tell me.
Starting point is 01:22:59 You just walk around waiting for an outbreak? No, it's not walking around waiting for an outbreak, but now I know and it's like, I have the choice now if I want to have sex with you again. We already had sex. We can't take that back. But you got to tell me like, yeah. It's still fucked up.
Starting point is 01:23:15 I'm with you. It's wrong that you didn't tell me before we had sex. But you got, I want to go to bums on my dick. I'm not, I'm going to call you to curse you out, but we're not fucking again. So I'm like, hey, we both got it now. Let's go crazy. No, we understand that part.
Starting point is 01:23:27 I mean, but that makes sense to me, though. How about y'all fuck each other and stop fucking? Like, don't fuck the, like, you know what I'm saying? The people who cool. Like, fuck each other. The people who cool is funny. But like, you know what I'm saying? Like, y'all already infected.
Starting point is 01:23:40 Like, fuck each other. That's cool. Like, if I'm a zombie and you a zombie, if I'm a zombie and you a zombie, let's bite on each other. What the fuck we got to go bite on the uninfected? You see what I'm saying? That's how you keep the population growing. The zombie population? Yeah, that's a code.
Starting point is 01:23:53 the apocalypse. That's what part of it is. Don't treat me like Will Smith's dog. Like you got to put me out my misery and just kill me and it's going to hurt you. No, you could have told me before. Yeah, nah. You definitely always always tell somebody before sex. Just give them that option, give them that choice to make a
Starting point is 01:24:09 decision on whether or not they want to do that. But once you take that away from them, that's where you're completely wrong at. So always give people the choice to make their own decision. But how would you react to that? like I've never had anyone before sex go by the way I have HSV2 like what
Starting point is 01:24:27 like what because we're still going to fuck I'm not judging people with HSV2 I don't judge them either at all it's actually way more common it shouldn't be as taboo as the way it's very common that's why I always tell you I'm not the SDV shame I think we've all fuck somebody with herpes and just didn't know it but but I'm saying if you knew it you would still fuck
Starting point is 01:24:46 come on I know I'm Mr. No condom nasty guy you think I would just be like you would just wear I don't, fuck it. You just wear a condom. I think if someone told you, if someone that you were dating that you care about, told you that they are on medication
Starting point is 01:25:00 to prevent outbreaks and that they haven't had an outbreak in years because of they've been on this medication and that no one else safe slept with has contracted the disease and you really like that person. I think that you would take the risk. I think I'd be out of the mood by that point
Starting point is 01:25:12 just because I, like, need more information. But see, that's what Rory is kills me, though. Because if she didn't say nothing, he's smashing. Yeah, of course. Right? I'm not saying I'm, guys, I'm not wrecking here.
Starting point is 01:25:24 No, no, I get it. But I'm just saying that's, but that's what's just funny. I'm not. Because if he don't, if she don't say nothing he's smashing, not even hesitant. But if she says something, like, yo, listen, like, you were like, nah, I ain't smashing. Like, you was going to smash anyway. I know. So don't tell me.
Starting point is 01:25:41 Yo. But I feel, but I hear. I don't want to know if you burn and keep it on alone. Because now there's old mill. Sitting in the bowl. Yo, all right. All right. All right.
Starting point is 01:25:59 All right. Okay. Okay. Let's wrap it up. Yo, man. Listen, protect yourself. Safe sex is the best sex. Damn.
Starting point is 01:26:09 They're paying me to say that. Do we have another voice, though? Please, Jesus. What's up, y'all? Shout out to everybody. Everyone's judging me. Hold on, Pete. If y'all get that speech, you y'all smashing.
Starting point is 01:26:22 If you tell me she has, she has herps. I put this all on it. But it's no breakout. No breakout. She's taking care of it. But you can still get herpes if there's not a break up. But it's very, it's very rare. If she's on Valtrex is very rare.
Starting point is 01:26:35 I can get herpes if I sit down on the toilet bowl and then my shit hit the bowl and somebody had it like. That happened to my man's at Icon Stadium with crabs. That's crazy. Catching crabs at Icon Stadium. First of all, why are you taking a shit at Icon store? You weren't a track athlete. Sometimes you have to shit. You get nervous.
Starting point is 01:26:51 You shit before you run. Yes, that's a very, go to attract me. The bathroom line is crazy not to be. People are shitting. He hadn't even had sex. His mom beat him because his Jamaican mother beat him up because he thought he was having sex and he was a virgin. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:27:10 Catching crabs in you a virgin is wild. It's like God hates me. God hates me. That's like becoming atheist. Once you see them just. Yo, you kept crabs and you a virgin? I don't believe in God after that. All this fucking praying I'm doing it.
Starting point is 01:27:23 I'm not even fucking. I'm waiting until I get married. I'm following the Bible and I still caught crabs. But crabs. Get that shit out of you. I'm not going to church no more. And then imagine your mother beating you up because I'm, I'm not going.
Starting point is 01:27:33 I'm an atheist. Fuck God. That's how I'm moving around life after that. If I catch crabs and I did not have sex, nah, fuck God, dog. I'm not, we're not doing this. I'm not going to church. I'm not going to church.
Starting point is 01:27:44 It's like, it's like life. It's like having a cubic life. Yeah, I'm not doing. Cut his whole shit up. I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that. I would be mad as fuck if I caught crabs and I'm not fucking. What is that?
Starting point is 01:27:56 And imagine you have no facial hair and have no idea how to shave. So you try to shave all your pubic hair without knowing how to shave. Oh, yeah. He just had a bad, bad. That was a bad year. Bad year. That's the worst year ever for him. That's his worst year ever.
Starting point is 01:28:09 I don't care if he won every track meet after. That's his worst year ever. But yeah. So you guys would smash is what you're saying. Yeah, I think I'm going in. I'm going in. I'm going in. I think so.
Starting point is 01:28:21 I have, I'm a really bad health hypocondriac so I wouldn't be able to do it I'm real bad with help I'm dead at I'm doing really serious Demand's be over there talking all this shit
Starting point is 01:28:31 she y'all y'all y'all yo yo yo yo chill out I'm not gonna say nothing I'm not that guy I'm not that guy you know
Starting point is 01:28:40 I don't know I don't do that I'm not a cop I'm not a lot but a lie was told but a lie was told is all I'm saying and I called her in it and then I made perfect sense
Starting point is 01:28:48 of why I said what I'm like Damage who are you talking to it I know how these things go, but it's okay. It's all love. As I found out from Gen Z, we clocked her. Yeah. That's how I go? Clock it.
Starting point is 01:28:58 Clocked you. She said one thing and we. Say again? Bieber. Trying to use a fucking black language wrong. He said it so wrong. What did he say, Peach? Are you not clocking that I'm standing on business?
Starting point is 01:29:12 Yeah, are you not clocking that I'm standing on business? No, he didn't say that. Yes, he did. Yes, he did. Justin Bieber said that? Yes. He didn't say that. That's just like chat.
Starting point is 01:29:20 GBG, GB, He's spitting out Gen Z shit. I thought he was way cooler than that. He said that? He said that. He's just not in the no. Wait, he said, are you not clocking that I'm standing on business? That don't even go together.
Starting point is 01:29:34 I know, I know, baby. I know. Like AI just catch the virus and macaroni and cheese on the same plate. Yeah, what is that? That's too many carbs he threw out there. He had too many carbs on his plate. Okay, well, in his defense, was he in fact standing on business? I don't know where he was standing.
Starting point is 01:29:48 But you wouldn't clock that. Yeah, are not clocking that? Your clock that I'm standing on business. Oh, no, he's not even when he said, he said, it's not clocking to you that I'm standing on business. It's not clocking to you? First of all, he's an innovator. It's not clocking to you that I'm standing on business, is it? Popstar.
Starting point is 01:30:05 See, y'all not understand. He's giving us new lingo. Maybe he meant clicking. Yeah, he probably meant to say clicking. Is it not clicking to you that I'm standing on business? You know, he'd be off that good Christian red wine. It's not clocking to you. It's not clocking to you that I'm standing on business, is it?
Starting point is 01:30:20 It's not clocking to you He might just say clicking It has to be It is not click to you But that doesn't even make sense What do you mean you stand in on business? It doesn't even make It's not clocking to you
Starting point is 01:30:31 And I'm standing on business Please Jesus He's a trend set That's gonna be the new time Ew I'm not understanding Is it not talking to you That I'm standing on business Rory?
Starting point is 01:30:42 Never clocking It's not clocking to me I feel for beeps though I haven't really been following Everything has been going on But his algorithms hit my timeline of the believers.
Starting point is 01:30:51 I feel like it's mixed reviews. Is he spiraling out or something? Yeah. Oh, okay. Beas's going nuts. Well, I hope he gets out. Yeah, I mean, listen, when you spiraling like that, you don't need a fucking paparazzi
Starting point is 01:31:01 your face at all the times. But do we have another voicemail? What's up, y'all? Shout out to everybody. Love the pie. Love all y'all. So my question is, me and a couple of my home girls
Starting point is 01:31:12 are throwing a pool party at our apartment complex. Anytime I get with this particular group, I always end up on an ox. Like it just is what it is. So I just went ahead and took on that responsibility for the party, right? And my formula that I'm using for making the playlist is like I split up into two halves. Like first, when everybody first getting there and getting settled,
Starting point is 01:31:31 and then the second half is like once everybody's drunk. And then each of those two, I've split up into old songs and new songs. So first part, Rory, does that make sense? Is that a good party formula? You are like the party guy. So let me know what's a good formula for like making sure it's lit all the way throughout. And then also second question for everybody, what are you guys go to summertime pool party songs? Like what are the songs you absolutely have to hear at the pool party?
Starting point is 01:31:57 That's really just going to make you feel like, ooh, I'm having a good time. New or old. This is how you do. God damn, you old as fuck. Once that come on, it's lit. Yeah, that's lit. Also, off-road, feature Masego or Freddie Gibbs, I think is a great pool record. That really gets the people on.
Starting point is 01:32:13 Also, I'm not, I did not DJ one single Palooza. I've, you kind of can gauge the crowd a little bit. Yeah, but I mean, I like her strategy of splitting it up. Yeah. Like,
Starting point is 01:32:23 I've done that with playlists of like knowing, you know, the earlier arrivals, like what we're doing there. Yeah. And then moving into that, it's a good,
Starting point is 01:32:30 good strategy. Mm-hmm. I know some, I know some creepy-ass capos that, Lord. Would, like, cater a whole playlist to,
Starting point is 01:32:37 all right, about two hours in, that's when we all go start fucking. Mm-hmm. And they would cater that timing. And I was like, damn, yeah, y'all, y'all was clocking it.
