Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. The volume. Last episode of 2025. Yay. Thank you to everybody that has listened this entire year. They said we wouldn't be here. Oh God.
Starting point is 00:00:22 They said we wouldn't make it. Bow-wow, thank you with Jagged Edge is an underrated record. Yeah, man, last episode. How are you feeling? I feel. I feel great. This is it. I feel great.
Starting point is 00:00:33 I would not believe. But yes, it was a good year, highs and lows. I do want to thank everyone that listened this entire year and we are going to do what we've been doing for shit last 10 years we're going to do a wrap up
Starting point is 00:00:44 of the year episode this one without our brother Elliot Wilson and a few shots of tequila all of that is going but I do have my end of the year cup I got a little rosé in here
Starting point is 00:00:56 I got a little peppermint tea water Demaris is still hung over from two weeks ago so we are here to wrap up the year and go through all the great music moments, producers, verses,
Starting point is 00:01:10 lyricists, everything. I like this type of shit. It's nerdy list stuff, but, you know, I think it's important. Yeah, you do, because we said, we agreed on top 10
Starting point is 00:01:19 rap and top 10 R&B albums of the year. And of course, Rory has to show everybody his musical taste and wants everybody know what he was listening to and since 20. It's very much teacher's pet.
Starting point is 00:01:30 I'm the person that says, hey, are you going to collect the homework? You just couldn't pick 10. You just couldn't pick 10. So you couldn't narrow down to 10. It was like one of Tupac's albums. You just didn't know what to cut. I get it.
Starting point is 00:01:40 So you just pick 20. Well, there's nothing really all eyes on me that you needed to cut. That's true. No, don't do that because every year I do come in here with 10, but I feel like rap this year was so good that I couldn't just do 10. So much came out. And because I did 20 with rap, I just was like, all right, I might as well. This is a lot.
Starting point is 00:01:58 This is a deluxe like LeBron. Another, you only go two more for you. Ironically, two changes is pretty high on my rap album. But with that, said, where do we want to begin? Is there anything you guys want to say to wrap up the year, like what you're thankful for? What you're looking for? Any 2026
Starting point is 00:02:13 goals, New Year, New Me, back in the gym. Do people still say that? Yes. It's definitely New Year. Can we start keeping track? I'm going to be a completely different person come January 6th. I'll change every year. That does have to do with January 6th. I want to make that clear. That's just the day we're coming
Starting point is 00:02:29 back. Wait, wait, hold on. The marriage, you said what? I change every year. You don't change every year? No. Oh, it might be a problem. You think you change every year? I do. I grow.
Starting point is 00:02:39 I grow every year. Every year I recognize my growth every year. I don't change my personality. My personality is my personality, but I definitely grow. I don't become perfect from one year to the next. But, yeah. I do want to run through, because we did the prediction thing on Patreon. There's something I did want to bring up on the regular episode.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Remember when Demer said at the top of this year, this was going to be her mysterious year? Oh, my God. I did not say that. Yo, we could find the clip. Ma, am I lying? Did she not say it's going to be her mysterious year? I don't know if y'all notice. I don't listen to Demaris.
Starting point is 00:03:13 I'm saying she's changed. No, you know, fuck you. You not. What are you talking about? I said I was going to be mysterious. Oh, my God. Man. And you still hung up.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Look how surprised she is. Bad, unmysterious. She told her. No, let's go do her year. Can we talk about Demarice's here? No, could we talk about. Then she wasn't drinking. Then they moved to I'm only drinking on Fridays.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Then it moved to Samoa. It was like, yeah, it's like, I wouldn't. We're nasty. And it ain't even Friday. It ain't Saturday. If it was Saturday, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:03:38 you know what? Maybe the only is going to Friday. I take breaks. So I'm taking a break again from, I'm doing dry January again. And I'm going to start wetting it up in February. But it's not going to be like extreme. Damaris is one of those people that all that have worked out of
Starting point is 00:03:53 people ate. Oh yeah. The gym is packed the first two weeks. Get out my way. Alcoholics hate Damaris. Don't get me dry January. All right? Don't just not drink for January.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Don't drink. If you're going to not drink for January, what's not, what's not drinking for a dream? What does that do? Well, it's to research yourself. So that you can drink the rest of the 11 months. Well, I have to prepare myself for March. My birthday's in March. I have to prepare myself out your body. But wet and wild February is going to get you ready?
Starting point is 00:04:16 No, that's like that's, it's a damn February. It's a runway. You can't tell you, you can't just, you can't go cold turkey. You got to wean yourself off. No, but she's going to do a whole binge of heroin in March. Oh, man. She's lining the stuff. Are y'all coming to, y'all coming to Houston with me this year?
Starting point is 00:04:32 If you actually like give us, are you saying that's definitely happening? Like I'll book my flight and get my, you know, affairs in order. Okay. I would do that, yeah. Houston with Baby D? For her birthday, I would definitely do it. It's me, Allison, Alex, Alexa. Are you doing your actual birthday?
Starting point is 00:04:46 I'm going. No, I won't be. I'm going. I won't be. Pizza, he's going. Pige already booked this flight. What else is going, baby D? Me, Allison, Alexa.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Alex. Now, you plagued on them. You were supposed to be with them the other day. Who? They're friends. Yeah. Was I? I was supposed to be with you the other day, baby D? When? No.
Starting point is 00:05:05 What you're talking about? Didn't you tell me that ball was supposed to- Step your son-s-in- Shut up, man? See, sometimes this is what I don't like in this podcast. I would say shit that's true and y'all be ignored it. You definitely told me Maul was supposed to link at some point with you and your friends. Today. Today.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Okay. Got it. See? There you go. Oh, so we y'all? I got other people business. Mine and other people. Drink your sauce here.
Starting point is 00:05:24 It's Rose. Oh, I'm sorry. Rose. Oh, he's a, he's a, he's a Republican. He's a Republican. It's Rose-A. This is, man, Nick. Nicky showed me the way. Don't do it. See?
Starting point is 00:05:36 See? My bad. My bad. You want to go on to? No, no, no. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Not alone. Let's stick to the top ten and top ten. Nicky. All right. Y'all start telling my Nikki. I'm going to go crazy. I'm going to turn on that. It's not the time. No, we are going to end this in a calm way. Not like we did last year. Okay. This is why this rose here. No, no shots of tequila in the morning.
Starting point is 00:05:56 We're ending this in a calm. Musically nerd type of way. Yeah, but wine and wine too much and wine to get you to. Tequila levels too, though. That is true. It's worse. So pace yourself. I mean, where are we going to night? I'm going home.
Starting point is 00:06:09 I'm going home. I'm going home. All right. Well, then I'll go out with them. All right. I'm going for y'all. All right. Cool.
Starting point is 00:06:17 What about y'all year? Fuck out of here. Y'all, try to press me about me, trying to be mysterious and all that extra shit. What about y'all? What y'all said? I don't want to talk about anything that happened to me this year. I just want to get to 2026. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:27 I don't want to be here right now talking about this, but we have to be here. This nigg is scared. Terrified still. I just, let's, let's just leave 2025 where it is. Yeah, I'm stepping over them steps for show. Yeah, no, yeah. Wow, 2025 was great, man. We got great music.
Starting point is 00:06:44 You know, I had some great, great music this year. Great year for rap. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Even though statistically they say it's the worst year, but, you know. Yeah, I mean, once you go through our list, I have some really good music. Yeah. I don't care what the streams say.
Starting point is 00:06:57 Fuck the streams. Fuck the streams. Listen, man, they took, fuck the streets and the streams. Fuck the street streams. Street streams are made of these. Everybody's looking for something. Y'all's our last episode. Street streams are made of days.
Starting point is 00:07:14 I got to bear with us. Everybody's looking for bodies. There you go. There you go. Street streams, y'all. That's the name of the episode. Yeah, street streams. Street streams.
Starting point is 00:07:23 All right, so I guess it makes sense to start with your top rap albums of the year. I'm so excited. Nobody has more taste than I do. Have you seen my Spotify wrap up? My age is 55. Y'all were so happy to be fucking old. Oh, man. Yes, again, I was the teacher's pet, and I did 20 just because this year in rap I thought was so fucking amazing.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I have no complaints at the end of this year where hip hop is. Yeah. Thank you guys. Thank you to all the artists that put music out. Because mine is lengthy, I believe you did 10, right? I did 10. Okay. Do you want to start with your top 10?
Starting point is 00:08:01 And which camera? Give me the closest camera. Everybody. I know you don't listen to anything that comes out of our mouths, which is fine. But I'm saying
Starting point is 00:08:10 this is our personal favorites. Yes. Look at me again. Specify personal. Look at me again. Let me go to the wide. Our personal, back to this one.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Favorites. Thank you, Peach. These are our personal favorites. If you want to argue about my personal favorites, have a blast, bark at the moon, This is not the top 10, top 20 of the year.
Starting point is 00:08:34 This is what we personally felt, personally. Yes. I'll never argue with you guys about your personal taste. We could argue about some other shit. Right. This is what I personally liked this year. Are they in order from? Oh, I have one to 20 in order.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Okay. And I just want to be clear that this list does not include any of the J Electronica projects only because I was too close to those. And even though this is our biased favorite, albums. I was too close to those. I don't have the same view as a listener the way I do with these albums. So this does not include J-L-LIC. Let's start with more. Top 10 rap albums of 2025. Top 10 rap albums of 2025. Drake, take care. And I'm just joking. This is in no particular orders. It's just the albums that I like this year. Conway, you can't kill God with bullets.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Mob deep infinite. Freddie Gibbs, Alfredo 2. J.I.D. God does like Ug. That was the name of God does like ugly right god does like ugly chance to wrap a star line uh walea everything is a lot clips let god sort them out goes face and prim clientele too uh j a lec a written testimony leaflets uh dave the boy who played harp codec black just getting started and nick grant i took it personal i like to my top 10 that was 12 oh okay look at you overachieving like me i wasn't get in front of the class with me i wasn't count i was just you know just my off the top just my Gold stars from the teachers. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Right there with me. We got some really good rap this year, man. Could you write a top three? Yeah, at least give us an order on top three. Because I'd like to know what your favorite rap out of my year with. Top three. In order? Like number one?
Starting point is 00:10:15 Yeah. Oh, shit. No, not just name three. Damn, that's tough, man. Because it changes. It's like week to week. It's like last week while late was my favorite album. This week, Conway is my favorite.
Starting point is 00:10:26 it's I will say with the rankings that I did like I have Conway he could be higher by the end of the year it just came out it just came out so I haven't lower than this week that's what I've been on since it dropped I tried to look at the whole year yeah so I did my best but this week I'll say Waleigh everything is a lot Conway you can't kill God with bullets and um who was I listening to this week Supreme clientele too because we just sat with ghosts okay so that's your top three of the week. I got, not of 2025.
Starting point is 00:11:01 I can't, man. It's tough, bro. I can't because I was listening to J.I.D. album when it came out, I was spending that heavy, but I haven't gone back to it in a few months. That's what I tried to do with my list of what I was constantly listening to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:14 That didn't just fall to the wayside. Yeah. But the W. The W. The Clips, too. Clips I've listened to, like, you know,
Starting point is 00:11:20 I make sure I go back to that at least once a month, twice a month. Yeah. But a Wileet is, he's been consistently like, I've been consistently like, I've been consistently, this style. It's a lot of good, good music on Wale's album, man. Like, I don't see enough.
Starting point is 00:11:31 I don't see enough. I would like to see more people champion that everything is a lot album, man. I don't know why more people aren't talking about it, but that album is really incredible. I mean, it's just the times, man. All right, well, I did rank mine and sorry that it's one through 20, but, you know, again, there was too much music. I would feel weird just doing a top 10 and not mentioning all the other albums that I thought were incredible. Yeah, somebody going to get left out, right? At that point. Yeah. I mean, shit, even when I got to there was a few I had to like kind of put to the side. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:01 I even made a category of favorite EP. On my R&B, I got some EPs on my top R&B albums. Oh, I left some off because they were EPs. But we'll get there. All right. So my number one rap album of the year was Clips, Let God Sort Them Out. Number two, Chance the Rapper, Starline. Number three, Waleigh, everything is a lot.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Number four. Larry June, Two Chains, Alchemist. Life is Beautiful. Five, Mobb Deep, Infinite. Number six, Freddie Gibbs, Alfredo 2. Number seven, Mac Miller, Blunarism. Number eight, Lil Sims Lotus. Nine, JID, God Does Like Ugly. Number 10, Mike Shobiz.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Number 11, De LaSole Cabin in the Sky. Number 12, Nick Grant, I took it personal. Number 13, Lloyd Banks, A-O-N-3, despite my mistakes. Number 14, Dave, the boy who played the harp. 15, Conway, you can't kill God with bullets. Number 16, ghost face killer Supreme Clientel 2. 17, Sabah No ID from the private collection of Sabah and No ID. 18 Reason, I love you again.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Again, 19 Naz and DJ Premier, light years, and 20 Billy Woods, Gali Wog, I can never pronounce it correctly. I think it's Gali Wog. Okay. And then my favorite EP of this year was Ransom and DJ Premier, the Reinvention. Good project.
Starting point is 00:13:13 So I'm actually, I'll probably wake up in the morning and want to switch some of these around, but I was, I felt okay with my 20. I think it's in the correct order of how I feel of what I listened to constantly throughout this entire year. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:27 I would have probably did, put more, but we said 10, so I was trying to keep it to 10. I did 10 and I was just sitting there when I was just going through all the albums. I was going through my. There's a lot. My Apple music. I was like, oh, good. I can't even like how I can't leave.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Banks off the shit. There's a lot of good albums this shit, man. We'll say that. A lot of good music. Yeah. Demaris, I know you mentioned you didn't want to do rap albums. You're boycotting. I'm not boycotting hip-hop.
Starting point is 00:13:48 I'm not boycotting hip-hip. You hate hip-hop. No, I just, I had to be honest with myself when I sat down to do it. in this year in rap, I didn't take in as much rap as I probably should have with the job that I have. I didn't take in as much rap. I was very R&B focused this year. So I don't want to rate albums or rank albums when I haven't listened to enough to even be able to compare them to the other one. So I just don't think that that is fair. But let God sort them out is obviously my favorite rap album of the year with Cardi B being that. That was really the only rap I really
Starting point is 00:14:19 listened to. I didn't really listen to a lot of rap this year. I mean, shit, even like with the big album I want to put on here. And the Cardi one I did want to put on here, but I felt it would have been disingen, like, if I were to make a top 10 rap album list that wasn't my personal favorite, Cardi would have made that list for sure. I just went off my personal stuff, but Cardi would make top 25 for my personal. I did like it. I just wasn't in the environments where you hear Cardi like that this year. But I do think it is a very solid, solid album. But yeah, I mean, I think it was probably one of the best years for rap. Maybe not on a global level,
Starting point is 00:14:56 but in my worlds, this year was incredible. Like, I don't want to hear anyone say hip hop is in a bad place. Because at that point, you're just not listening whatsoever. This shit was crazy. So then do you want to pop off R&B since you did?
Starting point is 00:15:10 I will. I did do R&B and I did rank them. I'm pulling it up right now. I really enjoyed R&B this year. Like, I really was in my R&B bag, you know, talk about maybe why or why not, but whatever. So number one for me is heart soul separately by Maraida Sciences.
Starting point is 00:15:28 That album is incredible. There's not a skip on it, top to bottom, the writing, the melodies. It was the perfect fucking album. My number two would be some sexy songs for you. Again, amazing fucking album. Three would be Why Not More by Coco Jones. Four will be SZA SOS Deluxe. Five will be finally over it by Summer Walker.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Six, Beloved by Giviam. Seven, Mutt Deluxe. Eight, Love on Digital by Dustin Conrad. Nine, Bloom by Duran Bernard, and 10, come as you are, Teres Martin, and Kenyon Dixon. Okay. I like that last one.
Starting point is 00:16:03 That's one of mine. These are my R&B top 20 ranked. This list does not include any avant-gardean projects. I want to make that clear because this is me as a fan. I can't name avant-garden projects because I'm too close. I don't have a fan perspective of them, so I left them off.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Number one, Dijon Baby. I think that was by far the best R&B project this year. Number two, Mariba, the Breeze grew a fire. Number three, Duran, Rannar, Bloom, which I didn't even know you listened at. Damarisa, I would have texted you right away. We could have talked about that album.
Starting point is 00:16:37 That's my number three favorite album of the whole fucking year. Duran Benar? Yeah. Duran Jones and the Indications, flowers. Super underrated project. I probably listened to that album more than any other album this entire year. Number five was a big,
Starting point is 00:16:52 pre-production conversation, man. I got Justin Bieber swag at five. Y'all trying to say that's a pop album. It charted on the R&B charts. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:04 I have Justin Bieber swag at number five. Okay. Number six, Drake and Party Next Door. Some sexy songs for you. Seven, Cizza, SOS Deluxe, Lana. Number eight, Odeal, the summer that saved me.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Shout to LVRN. Number nine, Kamari, to dry a tier. Number 10, give you on beloved. Number 11, Terrace Martin and Kenyon Dixon, come as you are. Number 12, Isaiah Haran. Cubanana, I can't pronounce the shit, but that whole project is fire.
Starting point is 00:17:33 I can't pronounce the name, the project. I just see the artwork and click it right away. 13, Leon Thomas, Mutt Deluxe. 14, Jesse Reyes, paid in memories. 15, Lettucey, the Crown, super underrated project. 16, Kirby, Miss Black America. 17. I also fucked this name up.
Starting point is 00:17:53 I think it's spelled K-W-N. I think it's... I think it's... K-W-N? Is it K-K-1? K-1. It's K-1. I always fuck it up. Same way we fucked up, 6-flak. 17, K-1,
Starting point is 00:18:09 with all due respect, that project is fire. 18, Coco Jones, Why Not More. 19, Neo-Jupiter, and 20 Summer Walker, finally over it. My favorite EP. of the year was Alex Asley when? Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Love Alex Isley. These lists make me look at, I actually thought it was kind of a dull year for R&B until I put this list together. There was a lot of great R&B. A lot of great R&B. And I count the deluxees because Lonna and the Mutt Heel shit, those are new albums.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Yeah, completely different albums. Maul, where are you at with R&B? All right, R&B, 2025. again, no particular order. Drake, partners, do some sexy songs for you. Sasha Keeble, act right. Bryce and Tiller,
Starting point is 00:18:56 Solicill, Solicin, Devices. Naomi Sharon, the only love we know. That's an EP, but I'm going to say one of my favorite Rambia albums of the year. Sailor from Florida's finest. That was going to be 21. Elmine, El Meeheat the Streets. Destin Conrad, Love on Digital.
Starting point is 00:19:10 That project was crazy. Summer Walker finally over at Terrace Martin, Kenyon, come as you are. And Coco Jones, why not more? All right. You know, Mariah and I'm making niggas list out. It got me ready to shake. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:22 I'm new to Mariah. You just put me on. So I just been, you know. And I like the project a lot. And that first week it came out. I did listen to it. I just, I don't know, I never got back in the mode. It speaks more to me, not to her.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Like, I just never went back to it. Not because it wasn't good. I just for some reason. It's you. It's you. That's what thugs. Yeah. She got left off a lot of year-end list, too.
Starting point is 00:19:43 And I don't, I don't, I just, I don't know. I don't know. Maybe we all value different things in me. music because I value, like I've told you guys, I value lyrics more than anything and her lyrics is number one for me. Great year for music, though, all around, though. What would be your top three? Because you said no order.
Starting point is 00:20:01 We're going to do the same thing with the R&B album. Well, number one, some sexy songs for you, I think is the best R&B album this year. Number two, Naomi Sharon, the only love we know EP, loved that. and then probably that Destin Conrad at Love One Digital. I have to live with that one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:25 I'm definitely going to go back to that for sure. Shit, Mario put out a good EP this year. Melanie, what's her last name? Melanie Fiona? Fiona. She put out a great EP too.
Starting point is 00:20:40 There was cool EPs for this year. All right, let's get to a rap song of the year. more we already know Nokia, number one greatest song this ever existed it goes Thriller 1A Nokia 1B
Starting point is 00:20:52 Favorite rap song Is it? I was gonna say Nokia rap song Oh that's such a tough one Favorite But it's not an R&B song It's a pop
Starting point is 00:21:02 Honestly Yeah it's a pop song Yo We didn't bring up that Chappelle joke Of saying that he quietly has been helping All the homeless people
Starting point is 00:21:09 And he said Not the way y'all think Y'all about to get it The Thrower? How to do the Thrillet dance? That was hilarious I didn't see that. He was like, y'all are in for a treat.
Starting point is 00:21:18 He said, y'all are in for a treat. I wasn't really helping them. I just talked in the thrill of it. Spitting two million dollars to teach a bunch of homeless people. The Thriller dance. What randomly even made you think about that? I'm just saying Nokia is mall's thrilling. Yo.
Starting point is 00:21:32 So this is a song of the year? No, your favorite rap song of the year. Oh, my favorite rap song of the year. Yeah. Because, I mean, no Kia to me, I'm with Damaris. That's a pop song. It's not R&B or rap. But I do think it leans more rap. that it does R&B.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Yeah. Damn, that's tough. What was my favorite rap song of the year? You would sing that shit every day when you came in here. Fico? That was my favorite song of the year. You said I was singing what every day? Because you might be right.
Starting point is 00:22:02 I'm no, I'm thinking R&B, I'm sorry. Yeah. Oh, R&B? Yeah. I know what your R&B one's going to be. I don't know what my R&B. What's my favorite rap song? I can't think of my favorite rap song of the year.
Starting point is 00:22:16 Like I don't I can't think of a rap song that I kept rapping like I kept saying Mine would have to be Mike Tyson blow to the face Mike Tyson blow to the face Bad That's clips right Mm-hmm Okay That's my favorite
Starting point is 00:22:34 It's also my verse of the year too which makes sense but My favorite verse of the year so You know what was one of my favorite rap songs of the year The one on Jay's album and it got taken off Oh who killed Michael Jack Jackson. That was my shit. With Quinn, that was my shit. That was one of the best rap songs. That was my shit right there. Shout out to Jay for putting on his Instagram the We Transfer File. Once it got taken down. That was my, that was my shit. Some of y'all have it. Yeah, that was my
Starting point is 00:23:02 shit. I might throw that shit on my IG story. Yo, I need, you know, send me that. I might need that. I need that. Of course I sent it to. Yeah, I need that. That might be one of my favorite. If you listen to our Patreon and on our Discord, I'll put that that record in our Discord. Yeah. Because that, yeah. That was my shit. That was my shit. That was one song I was rapping. Like, that was my shit. I was there for that session.
Starting point is 00:23:25 And when they had brought that beat up and started, rap was like, oh, this might be one of the best J.LX songs I've ever heard. Yeah, that was my shit. They was in a different mode. And the other one that got taken off, Japan Airlines. That was my shit, too. There's another version of that on the Godfather Harlem soundtrack. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Okay. Which is called leaflets ironically. Okay. But it's, it's, that was the original demo. Okay. That we put on leaflets. Okay. Instead of the Godfather Harlem shit, but yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Yeah, that might be, that shit was up there. Who killed Michael Jackson might be my, my favorite rap song. The Japan shit, we did that in, uh, in Mexico. That was earlier, that was around the time you was down in Mexico. Okay. That joint. Yeah, well, as I said before, like, I didn't include any JLX stuff in my list because it's, even though it's our favorite and it's biased no matter what.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Inside the trade? I'm too. I don't have the same lens. Inside of trading. Yeah, I get it. It's not even. insider trading is just, I'm too close to that. I was there for the creation of the entire thing. Got you. But Blood Libel, like probably, Blood Libel is probably my favorite. Okay. Another good one.
Starting point is 00:24:25 Song of the year. But if I'm taking Jay Elect out of everything, and I'm just telling on myself or just where I'm at my life, that chance to rapper Vic Mensa back to the go, I don't have you been back to those lyrics. No. That's my favorite rap song of the entire. year. Back to the go? Back to the go. Okay. I got to go listen to that again. Yeah. I mean, essentially it's after Chance's divorce, he goes back to his mom's crib to just regroup. And that hook is the melody on that is incredible. It's some of the best rapping chance is ever done. That Back to the Go record as somebody in the mid-30s, that might be one of my favorite records of the last 10 years. Like Chance went nuts on that. That's a big reason why I even have
Starting point is 00:25:12 Starline so high and where it's at outside. of all the other great records, but that's, I even texted Chance when he sent me like the early version of everything. I say, yo, that back to the Go record might be one of the best records I've heard in quite some time. Chance album's dope, man. That intro is nuts.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Chance album's dope. I mean, we can, we'll get to verse of the year, but I want to bring up that again once we get there. R&B song with year. Folded, obviously. Again, if we were doing Yeah. If we were doing a list,
Starting point is 00:25:44 that wasn't just our personal stuff. It goes without question. Yeah. Foley is the best R.B. song. It's still my, even personally. Like, it's just, I, you know. Personally, too, it's right there for me. I was singing it, like, five seconds.
Starting point is 00:25:55 All I do is sing that song all day, every day. Like, it's a, it's one of them. It's one of those records that's going to go over there with cranes in the sky. Like, it's just, uh, Miguel, Adorn. It's one of those. Yeah. It's just one of those records.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Yeah. It's going to live forever. Yes. I have Leon Thomas not fair. That was going to be my sneak pick. If I had to pick something different, other than folded, it would be not fair. It's a perfect song.
Starting point is 00:26:18 It's so good. It's a perfect song. It's one of those shit. Like you cannot get that out of your head for months. Yeah. Like you just walk around with the not fair hook in your head. So you said folded, not fair. Thank for you by Coco Jones as a sleeper.
Starting point is 00:26:37 Just want to put that out there. Just R&B song of it? Thank for you. Mm-hmm. I'm mad at it. Somebody loves me? That's we knew what your answer was going to be. That's why I said you walk in singing it every fucking day.
Starting point is 00:26:54 I mean, if we picking it, that folded to me definitely. But if you're going to say folded, you said Leon Thomas. Yeah. Here's the thing. If we were doing an actual real list that wasn't our personal favorites, it would go fold and then probably somebody looked like somebody loves me. Yeah. It is right there for number two, I think of this year as far as R&B songs go.
Starting point is 00:27:14 Not fair is just my shit. I wouldn't put not fair above that if we were making a list. Got you. Like the way BDOT does. Yeah, yeah, I got you. Because that, yeah, that was all three great songs, though. That folded right. If folded doesn't come out, that could be the best R&B song of the year.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Like, folded might be the best Rambi album. That ass. That ass. The folded pack. The folded pack with all remixes. The folded pack. Like, yo, and folded again. Fold it twice.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Chopped and screwed. Folded. And I do want to give a shout out to out the window by Kalani, which is also like such an amazing song, but it's just like, Foldit is so big that she, like, if she were to release out the window without Folded being there, like, out the window is out of here. But, nigga, we still folding clothes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:58 It's rough, but out the window is really good. The video was really good. She took it back, classic R&B. So, I don't know. I appreciate it R&B this year, yo. Are you capable of doing verse of the year? You can do R&B, though. Verse of the year, I went rap, but.
Starting point is 00:28:15 I don't think R&B should be excluded from verse of the year. I went, yeah, I went rap too. Okay, what'd you go with? Pushers verse. Mike Tyson blows to the face. That's my favorite verse. I'm not mad at that whatsoever. How you come in, no confession.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Come on now. No, he went. Just in the beat drop. All right. That's the problem with that Cliffs album. Trying to pick one verse of the year. There's like three on there. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:28:40 Malice with Fico is nuts. That's my person, Malice and FICO. Then even if you get into the weeds of it, the malice versus the malice P-O-V verse when the beat switches up is fucking
Starting point is 00:28:55 I was debating between POV malice and Naz's verse on Big L, you ain't got a chance. To me that was like kind of the craziest verse of the entire year. But then if
Starting point is 00:29:10 it sounds nuts, if you go to chances Starline intro, first verse and second verse, those could both be up there. His intro, that, when he just rapping throughout the whole shit, you could throw a chance there too. Yeah. But I still think you ain't got a chance.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Nah, it's like, if we were allowed to play that, I think I could convince y'all that that's the best verse of the year. No, that malice, that malice verse on Fico is crazy. Like, he was talking crazy on that whole verse. Like that from start to end to his verse. Like, the way he painted that, that he was talking crazy that whole like I was that first was so impressive to me
Starting point is 00:29:48 that when I first heard it I was like yo and to think that he took time off a rap like he just was like chilling for years and was like yo I'm cool to be able to come back and do that very impressive but even then shit what was it 20 what was the last push album
Starting point is 00:30:07 22 I think malice had the best verse in 22 I pray for you the outro on Pusha Solo project? Yeah. I think we talked about that when I came up. Malice may have had the best verse that year. Like, that was nuts.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tapped Little Kim's boobs
Starting point is 00:33:22 at the VMAs? Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim? Well, you can find out
Starting point is 00:33:31 on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam J. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode
Starting point is 00:33:42 with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack. I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
Starting point is 00:33:58 We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you for finishing that sentence. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast. or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:34:19 When you listen to podcasts about AI and tech and the future of humanity, the hosts always act like they know what they're talking about and they are experts at everything. Here, the Nick Dick and Poll Show, we're not afraid to make mistakes. What Kugler did that I think was so unique. He's the writer-director.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Who do you think he is? I don't know. You meet the president? You think Canada has a president. You think China has a president? Those law cruises. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time.
Starting point is 00:34:51 I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. Yep. It was a good one. I like that saying. It is an actual Polish saying. It is an actual Polish saying. Better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes.
Starting point is 00:35:07 Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift who said that for the first time. I actually thought it was. I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick Dick and Paul show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault and Our Stars, and now I guess also as the co-host of The Away End,
Starting point is 00:35:26 a brand new world soccer podcast. I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist, and John and I have known each other since we were kids. My first World Cup was Mexico 86. I was nine years old. I watched every game, and I fell in love. On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football,
Starting point is 00:35:43 all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. For us, soccer, football, is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan. I love this game. I love its history, its hope, its heartbreak, and above all, its beauty. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Listen to the away end with Daniel Auer Kohn and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you already know there's a lot to break down. Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man. They hold him
Starting point is 00:36:31 Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew. Pinky has financial issues. I like the bougie style of Housewives' show. I think it looks like it's going to be interesting. On the podcast, Reality With the King, I, Carlos King, recap the biggest moments from your favorite reality shows, including
Starting point is 00:36:47 the Real House Wise franchise, the drama, the alliances, and the T, everybody's talking about. As an executive producer in reality television, I'm not just watching it. I understand the game. As somebody who creates shows, I'll even say this. At the end of the day, when people are at home, they want entertainment. To hear this and more, listen to Reality with the King on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. But yeah, there was a lot of great verses. landing on Nas in the big Elwood joint. But that does get us the lyricist of the year.
Starting point is 00:37:27 And again, I think it's between Nas and Malice. Nause for sure. I mean, it's Noss. But Malice, I don't know, man. Mous went fucking nuts. No, he had a great year. That album was really good. He was really rapping his asshole. But to me, the lyricist of the year would have to be Nass. Yeah, I don't think you can. Yeah, I don't think there.
Starting point is 00:37:44 I don't think there. It's not much argument there. I mean, Mariah Science is what she did this year, Baby D. You know who asked what I'm going with. Her lyrics was crazy this year. We're not slighting, we not slight Mariah at all. We support Mariah, the scientist. All right. I have a hot take here, even though I have Nas.
Starting point is 00:37:59 All right, let's split it. Rap lyricist of the year, I think it's Nas. R&B. You're going to go Leon? It's between Leon and Siza. Siza was rapping all over that deluxe. Like, if you get into the lyrics of the Lana SOS Deluxe, she was talking to that.
Starting point is 00:38:18 She might, she might compete with Nause as far as output and lyrics. Nah, we're gonna do R&B lyrics. If we do R&B lyrics. If we do R&B lyrics, bro. Them niggas was talking crazy that whole EP. I'm not mad at that at all. If we're going lyrics, R&B lyrics?
Starting point is 00:38:34 I'm not mad at that at all. The city is pretty when it's dead. It's like a flower. No, party and Drake went fucking. That Drake verse on when he's gone? Oh, please. Like, that's the R&B lyrics in the year, bro. You're not wrong?
Starting point is 00:38:48 Oh, are you crazy? But they have, okay, so. Yes, but they have a leg up because they're also rappers. So I feel like- Yeah, but don't do that. Don't make niggas prisoners of their own talent. Don't do that. I don't think that's fair. That's not fair.
Starting point is 00:39:00 That's not fair. That's not fair. It was in my top three. Because party was one of the greatest lyrics is a little time. Party is not a rapper. Party is an R&B artist. But he could if he wanted to be. If he wanted to be.
Starting point is 00:39:11 Drake just happens to be, you know, he does a little bit of everything. You dance, pop, rap, R&B. What they did that album top, the, the, the, uh, the, the, uh, the, uh, the, the, uh, the, uh, the, the, the, the, the, record? Come on, fam. Like, what we talk? If we talk about R&B lyrics. Not singing, not singing,
Starting point is 00:39:28 R&B lyrics. All right, but even like, when you get into the, I don't know how much you went back to the Lana, deluxe, but if you even get from 30 to 30, BMF, Scorsese's baby daddy,
Starting point is 00:39:40 um, shit, another life. Yeah, she was talking on that. Cry Baby said. No, cry, you know, cry baby is my favorite joint. Bob Miss said.
Starting point is 00:39:48 She went, her pen, my, This is a hot take. Her pen might be better on her pen. I'm not saying the music. Her pen is probably better on Lana than it was on SOS. Okay, I think you need to go back and relisten to SOS.
Starting point is 00:40:00 I think SOS is a classic. I feel like Cry, Baby. What song was that? She rap. Because all I think, when she was like, I'm so sick you're so sick of me too. Call me Miss Cry, baby. No, she went crazy.
Starting point is 00:40:14 I just wanted to hit Baby, need her shit off. That's all. Like, granted, it's Kill Bill. obviously snooze all that. I think snooze is one of the greatest R&B. The intro, she comes in on the intro rapid cleaning. The champagne poppy sample. No, she went.
Starting point is 00:40:29 She might outbarred. Well, nah. That's not fair. But she barred up on the SOS intro. She was crazy. I just feel like, shit, even drive. Drive is crazy, lyrically. That line of shit, that pen is fucking nuts.
Starting point is 00:40:44 Sis goes wild. Shout out to her. Has she been doing, like, jam sessions? Has that entered your algorithms? They look like. they're in like some loft in downtown LA. And it's just some jam sessions. I scroll past it and just quickly watch the video.
Starting point is 00:40:59 But I think she's been doing jam sessions in LA. That would be fun. Like just freestyling like, you know, give me a mic and I'll just start trying shit. And she had a whole live band there. Sorry if this was already somebody's platform and Sissor just happened to show up. But.
Starting point is 00:41:12 Oh, I saw that. Yeah, Sisy performs live at pop-up jam session at L.A. with Lizzo. That's fired to me. I think art, because I know, obviously artists do that at studio sessions. I think that's cool if they do that more to the public. Like even on live streams, like, who cares? We just creating. Like, I'll mumble through and just find a melody.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Like, I think nerdy fans like me would appreciate to watch that type of process. Let's do a jam session. And I may not even say real words, but I'm going to find a melody and we just going to rock out. Oh, it was a meditation night too, meditation. That's flawed to me. That's the coolest. yoga and like pop-up jam session. Yeah, see, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:41:55 All right, look. Cizzer could turn into the female Chappelle with that type of thing. You know, Chappelle bought that barn and just got Prince's band to just do jam sessions every night and just people fly into West Bubblefuck, Ohio and just hang out.
Starting point is 00:42:09 Like, that's the cool shit in the world to me. Yeah. That's way cool. That's nice and barefoot cool shit for you. That is very much your vibe. Hell yeah. Yeah. What?
Starting point is 00:42:18 Yeah. So whatever you guys are going to do for a producer of the year? Well, where do we land on lyricist? Lyrics in Sydney. Nause with rap. I'm saying with R&B. We have Cizza, we have Leon. I'm going to.
Starting point is 00:42:30 Is Drake your party a package due? I mean, that album, that's just the R&B that I'm referring to. I'm surprised you didn't bring up Givion. Givion's at my top list for a problem. I know, but he was talking on that now. I was about to bring up backup plan. Y'all already know. Givion was talking on that shit.
Starting point is 00:42:46 In the way you yell. Something's missing, baby, I can tell. That niggins said, and I've been treating you well. You must got a backup plan. He would have got, see, he would have got arm be literacy if he said something's different in the way you smell. Because, you know, that would have. You should have been at the jam since.
Starting point is 00:43:03 That would have really been like, okay, he, he pulling from real life shit. He really went through that. Anytime Loyal calls during the holidays, I just think I'm broke. I'm so scared, actually. I mean, summer, this. wasn't my favorite lyrical album of her. It wasn't complex enough for me. Yeah, she could be in that mix.
Starting point is 00:43:23 Your baby didn't wasn't complex enough. The lyrics. No, I love the album, but the lyrics weren't complex. I felt like the whole approach wasn't even to try to do that. I can't even open my phone with our hands, smell good, tastes great. God, all of y'all don't smell good and taste great, God damn it. We got to stop this shit. Yeah, like, we got to stop this shit.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Like, all of y'all do not smell good and taste great. Like, come on. Well, I don't know. I can't relate. My sleeper lyricist of the year, Jesse Reyes. R&B, if we talk about bars. Oh, she's really good. She said, just told my therapist, we called it quits.
Starting point is 00:43:58 Gotta be honest, that bitch is legit. She held her tongue for a bit. Then she kept it real and said, Jesse, that boy wasn't shit. It's just your pattern that's making you trip. Just because he pulled back is making you grip. And if I'm honest, he wasn't the smartest or intellectually matched for the kid. After that, she apologized and said, don't sweat. It's cool.
Starting point is 00:44:15 All right. It's not like it's news. I was just snobled. newsing on shit. She went fucking nuts on this first. Yeah, but the way you read that was trash. I don't know. I don't think I'm going to go play that song. We can't play shit. See, that's why, but this goes back to why you need the music. You know, because see how Rory just read that? I don't want to go listen to that the way he read it. Because I can't put, I didn't think that was so profound and prolific. I don't think Jesse was giving us entang just right there. But now if I
Starting point is 00:44:41 listen to him, I might be like, oh, that's the same shit you just read, Rory. You like, okay, she killed that. Yo, Mawle is an asshole. Right and wrong. No, but Moll. No, Moll. Ball is right. Like, what's the cadence? Like, I don't even know the cadence. Like, I don't even know the cadence. Because I didn't even want to try to disrespect her cadence on how crazy she went on that. Now, Rory just think everybody is going, you know, like delivers is all whenever they say they sat down with the therapist. You know, that's Rory's shit right there. Whenever you say that, he's like, oh, nah, they're in their bag. They're in a therapist bag. I didn't deliver the same one. No, actually. Yeah, nah, the way you delivered that?
Starting point is 00:45:16 No. That wasn't. It wasn't. Because I thought I could deliver it so well that it would get flag. They would think it was really Jesse, so I tried to just read the lyrics. Yeah, it sounded a lot better than the way you delivered it. Jesse, I apologize. Yeah, you butcher Jesse's whole joint. To pitch how great begging for love is. But I think if you go through Pay with Memories, that, she getting bars off on that. That shit could be a rap album.
Starting point is 00:45:38 Shout to Jesse Reyes, man. She's up there with lyricists of the year, R&B side for me for sure. Producer of the year, if you just go off my rap album list, the top. top 10, it's mostly alchemist. Yeah. Like, I have, I have Larry June, two chains, alchemist, mob deep infinite, Freddie Gibbs, Alfredo, too. That's all in my top 10. All right there.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Like, it's all out. And shout out to Havoc as well with the infinite stuff. But, I mean, it has to be Al. Yeah. For me, Alchemist is probably producer of year. But, I mean, I was very happy what Havoc did on that as well. R&B-wise, it was an interesting year. I don't know if there was like one standout,
Starting point is 00:46:26 there was a lot of standout writers. Tijon and MKG and like those guys that wrote the swag album and then obviously the baby album, there was like writers of the year to me. Dixon, obviously, one of the writers of the year. Aunt Clemens. There was those. R&B producer of the year.
Starting point is 00:46:48 I'm kind of stuck on that one. but that's not the same way rap is where it's kind of just here's one. Yeah, I don't know who my R&B producer the year would be. Yeah, but I have out there as far as producer the year. Demaris? Yeah, I can't. I agree with everything that you said. I can't just pick one. No, for real, I can't just pick
Starting point is 00:47:08 one. I can't. I never was good at that anyway when it comes to, like, producers and shit. Some people sound out recognized, but usually I'll have to go look at up, like, who did this? I'm not good at recognizing good. producer signature songs. But James Fauntleroy is on not fair, so you can't escape him for nothing. Like, even when you're not like trying
Starting point is 00:47:27 for him to be your favorite, it's just natural. Even when James don't produce a record, he might be producer to you. Like, even if he don't put nothing out. His name is in the hat. Like, yeah, still. James Falamore, like, he hasn't been active in seven years, sir. Still, one of the best. I mean, he's the
Starting point is 00:47:43 go. Yeah. You all right, you guys know. That's like my man crush Monday. Yeah, yeah. I'll get it. Okay. I went like this when I saw him. you don't know what to do with your hands when you meet people that you did you tell him you he changed your life uh no he didn't even tell his father he changed his life he told naz how you tell nz he changed your life but not your dad like you actually he gave me life well sort of he fucked my mom who then gave me life and no of course i my father my father's a good dude man i love my dad dude that's like no i know my dad is my dad no that's why i'm
Starting point is 00:48:19 He's going to be in my house tomorrow morning. I can't wait to see my god. I already got the weed set up already in his drawer in his room. Yes, my God. Which used to be Demaris's room now. It's my dad's room. Yeah, he took my shit over at school. And it smelled like weed in there.
Starting point is 00:48:31 Now, I've been putting that in baggies, everything. How do you keep weed from smelling up? Jars. Mason jars. That's what I got to do. Yeah, Mason jars. My dad would take the old, when Tolls used to be like coins and shit. He used to take that and put all the weed in there.
Starting point is 00:48:47 That was his go-to. Oh, my God. Mason jars? No, it was those little plastic things You used to have like tokens in Oh, okay, okay, yeah You was in the Bronx You didn't have tokens
Starting point is 00:48:56 I know what you're talking about Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about though Yeah, but Mason jars Okay, that's good to know Interviewed a year I know what mine is Young thug So you go to jail
Starting point is 00:49:07 For the rest of your life Whoop needo That's shit That was an incredible interview The fucking interview is perfect Bro The interview is perfect Nah Dame Dash on Breakfast Club
Starting point is 00:49:19 though. That's what I have is mom. Really? Oh yeah. He's like, I'm not gay. You are. Yo, a man telling you he's not gay. And you just like, you are. Like, shut up. This is on radio. You are as crazy.
Starting point is 00:49:41 Like, yo, shut up. You don't even know you gay. You know, the fact, Charlemagne would ask a legit question about like how assets work. And he said, you wouldn't understand because you're gay. Yeah. And Charlemagne sitting there like, wait, what? What does it have to do What I just asked?
Starting point is 00:49:56 Yo, Dianna, Dame on the breakfast club is definitely interview at a year without a doubt. That's the interviewer to year. Charlotte may be like,
Starting point is 00:50:04 all right, well, tell me more about the family office, but you're a bold girl. Yeah. I never watched that full interview. He said that you're a bald girl.
Starting point is 00:50:12 You never watched that full interview? No, you're tripping. You got to watch that. Shout out to the breakfast club. That's everybody. That was the funniest. That is the interview.
Starting point is 00:50:21 That's close to Ray J. Dame got interviewed a year. Dame got interviewed a year. How the fuck they even topped the first, or I'm sorry, yeah, the first Dame Dash interview, they've had three. How you topped the first one, I don't know how you guys did that. Like, salute to the breakfast club. Yo, Charlemagne, you have the patience.
Starting point is 00:50:38 I'm not gay, you are. Yo, that was so, I could not believe that was a radio interview. What will be you guys a second? That thug shit is right there. The thug shit for sure, yeah. Thugs is up there. Other than that. But let's say top three.
Starting point is 00:50:56 I feel like Ray J got one. No, Ray J just had wild live streams. Well, live stream, that's gonna say the interviews, right? No. No, he just said, he just on stream saying wild shit, nobody was interviewing him.
Starting point is 00:51:11 He was talking. He was playing Uno just saying crazy shit. And who had another? Who? That was this year. He said Bobby Altoff and Drake. That was a good one, though. That was a good interview.
Starting point is 00:51:26 That was a good episode. So what was you guys? his favorite interview that we've done this year. You had some good ones this year. I think, as far as our pod goes, 2025 may have been my favorite interview year. I mean, obviously the ghost face one that we just did was incredible. The De La one was so much fun. I wish, this is the only pushback I'm giving our listeners. Sometimes I wish y'all would watch interviews even if it's people you don't
Starting point is 00:51:59 typically listen to. Because that De La conversation, I don't care if you're a rap nerd or not, was just like one of the coolest fucking interviews ever. Like if you're just interested in learning shit, that De La interview was incredible. That De La was one of them, the De Nice episode.
Starting point is 00:52:14 D. Nice one was. Great. That was great. Yeah, that was a great conversation. It's funny, like a lot of the interviews that probably got are lower views were some of my favorite,
Starting point is 00:52:24 which sounds nuts. Mm-hmm. It'd be like that. Personal. Personal conversations is personal, you know. Yeah, and I'm not expecting everyone to, if you just like to hear us banter, I love and appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:52:37 And if you just want to be like, I don't, like I fuck with De Nice, but I don't really care to listen to an interview. I get that perspective. But if you, the stories De Nice had, like, it's incredible. It was nuts. Shit, the 85 South.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Was really good. 85 South and Miss Pat, I think. Was that an interview? Were those interviews, though? Like, De La and Ghostface, I felt like was an interview. We were chopping it up with 85 South. Yeah, 85 South. Oh, Miss Pat.
Starting point is 00:53:05 Ms. Godfrey. Godfrey was. Oh, Gawfrey might have been your best one. Godfrey and Miss Pat. That nigga is crazy. Ball made the best call ever. Gawfrey was supposed to do that shit over Zoom.
Starting point is 00:53:15 And Ma was like, don't he live in the city? And we just waited an hour and a half and Godfrey just got in the car and drove here. Zoom and he lives right up the block? Like, what the fuck are we doing here? That was such a good call. That Godfrey interview. Speaking of Zoom, though, Donovan McNabb was this year, right?
Starting point is 00:53:30 I wish, if that was in person, that interview would have went fucking nuts. That was such a good interview with Donovan McNabb. I really liked that one. The Chance one, I mean, that, outside of like wild shit,
Starting point is 00:53:44 just a straight up interview, I think that was one of the better interviews in the entire space this year. Which one was that? Talkie shit. Which hand's the rapper. Oh, yeah. No, I'm not looking for salacious,
Starting point is 00:53:53 just a show. straight up great conversation and interview. I think that chance one could rival any real sit down interview. That was a good comment. I'm not saying it could. The conversation was dope too, though. Which one? Bryson?
Starting point is 00:54:07 Yeah, he was very vulnerable. Yeah. Oh, I'm sick. I missed that. I'll never forgive myself. Didn't you have something to do? Why didn't you, why couldn't you come in? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:16 My best. Yeah. That's when she went on vacation. I went on vacation. He hit that back. Remember he hit that back. No, she fell in the fucking pool. I went on vacation.
Starting point is 00:54:23 was my favorite 2025 moment. When DeMaris fell in the pool. No, what's up about the pool? No, she fell in the pool. All right, my bad. You're on vacation. On vacation, you'd be trying shit. You know, like.
Starting point is 00:54:34 Yeah, in the pool. Yeah. You fall. Now you want to sit on top of that. Yo. Is you cool? I can't. No, we can take all this.
Starting point is 00:54:43 We're taking all this. I was trying to switch the subject. It's the end of the year. Yeah. You're making Pige. You have way too many edits while he's at home and cancer. I don't have shit. Once the clock strikes midnight.
Starting point is 00:54:51 All of the things. All of the things are deleted. That never happened come midnight. Y'all delete y'all wholen us for the year? Who me? I'm bringing in a yel some whole shit. That was not a ho this year at all. You wasn't?
Starting point is 00:55:04 No, not even a ho this year at least. Yeah, I wasn't definitely. I wasn't, I wasn't a ho this shit. Me, I wasn't either. I should have been. That's a relationship. It doesn't make you a ho. But I mean, look at Demarish shit.
Starting point is 00:55:14 She got kicked out of ice by show after she twirked on stage. That was last year. But that was last year? That was a couple years ago. That was a couple years ago. actually. Year and a half ago. It wasn't a couple years ago.
Starting point is 00:55:24 It was a year and a half ago. It was last year, man. Yeah. It was like August of last year. So that's not a half. It's a year, though. Okay. August is exactly six months ago.
Starting point is 00:55:36 It was exactly a year and a half ago. August is six months ago? Yeah. 04. Sorry. My bad. That's that Syracuse Education Department. Happy Mathie something.
Starting point is 00:55:48 The Syracuse Department of Education. No child left behind. Is there any other interviews that that we missed this year that we thought were great? I mean, I don't consider the Miss Pat shit an interview. That was just more. A roasting. Intervention for my life. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:06 But no, we had a lot of great conversations this year. A lot of conversations I didn't really care for. Yeah. But we don't need to go down that. Oh, the DJ had him all thing was this year. That was this year. That was this year. Oh, yeah, because it was a year anniversary.
Starting point is 00:56:19 Holy shit. It was May. It was top of May. end of April top of May yeah Josh this is why you need to create a timeline of all of our interviews I would have guessed that was last year but I forgot It was a year from the beef
Starting point is 00:56:33 which was 2024 Was that an interview though Or was that It was a debate It was a funeral Yo It was a funeral It's crazy
Starting point is 00:56:45 You know what Let me be objective since Demaris and I were the moderators Obituary Both y'all said a bunch of nothing Yeah how both y'all said a whole it was an amazing episode but both y'all said a whole bunch of nothing everyone said i know the real because i speak to drake i speak to kendrick and nobody said a fucking thing yeah but that's because i'm not clout chasing and i don't think head was cloud chasing
Starting point is 00:57:06 i didn't say he was yeah i'm just saying i would never say nothing i had in a personal conversation on mike and head said the same thing yeah so yeah what i don't say drake told me it was very but i i kind of understand that like mediators at political debate now when they when they asked like all right Trump how are you gonna defeat ISIS he's like well I can't tell you that yeah I can't tell you the plan because I can't tell you the plan because I can't tell you the plan then why are we here
Starting point is 00:57:31 ISIS is listening yeah I'm gonna tell you the plan and ISIS is listening like well we know they'll be they'll be coming to invade the country March 8th like to fuck I'm not supposed to tell you to give you the bluepress that as a fuck yo as a like dedicated arguing ass bitch when like you would say something and it was something that had could have said I'm just saying they're like and it was
Starting point is 00:57:51 same thing with him when he would say something and it was something you could have said it was hard as fuck being a moderator. I'm over here with tapping Rory like, no, they're forgetting this. You know the shelving that we have over here where we keep like momentum. Like shit that's monumental to our pod from sketches, like certain props. I still have the script that I printed out of all the things I was writing on the back of the page to you that I wanted mall to yell like Tim works at Amazon and grew up with Kendrick. Yo, but we couldn't have.
Starting point is 00:58:21 I was like bias. Tim is the head of Amazon music. We had to be neutral, but it was, it was tough. I was sitting there just writing shit to you of just things I wanted to scream at the top of my lung. That was really funny. Shout out to DJ head. We had a good time with that entire time. So, okay, I understand your favorite interview.
Starting point is 00:58:39 Who was your favorite guest? Because I think that that's different. You can have an amazing interview with somebody, but like my favorite guest was Lola. Lola and Joy. Those are my favorite guests. Joy was great. Joy was really good. Um, Joy Taylor Taylor.
Starting point is 00:58:53 Yeah, Joy Taylor. Joy was great. I learned a lot. As someone that like sort of hung out with Joy a little bit before that. I learned more about Joy in that interview than when we would be out at dinner saying things we'd never say on my like, like, all right, Joy. Yo. Yeah, Joyce, what joy says she'd be tricking? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:10 I was like, we're holding on now peanut butter skin. I ain't know you be out here tricking now. I was sitting there like peanut butter brown all the way down. I was like, me and Simba paid all. All the dinner bills in New Orleans. Yeah. I guess this still lands on the interview side, but one of the biggest, like, personal accomplishments
Starting point is 00:59:33 was having Day 26 come up here at the height of all the puff shit that was going on and anywhere else they sat down. I'm not knocking any interview that asked them about Puffy or anything like that. Yeah. We created an amazing piece with Day 26 that was not based off bullshit whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Yeah. It was based off music, who they were as people. It was a great interview, great performance. All the comments were positive. Yeah. That's hard.
Starting point is 01:00:00 That shit is... Chappelle said it in his special. He said, MLK and Tucker Carl... Not Tucker Carlson, I'm sorry. Charlie Kirk could never be the same because Charlie Kirk grew up in an era where the only way for you to get
Starting point is 01:00:16 any type of retention is being negative. not even knocking Charlie Kirk there but it's the internet era you can't get a reaction to anyone unless you're negative you can't be positive and get a reaction I felt like with day 26 in the height of the puff shit we got positive reactions in views
Starting point is 01:00:32 of doing something good yeah you know how hard that is clap it up for yourself proud of y'all stand above the fray and I don't know that was a personal accomplishment
Starting point is 01:00:44 did it get a million views no but I read all those comments and we actually got some traction. And I was like, this is positive. Wait, people, it gave me hope for humanity. That people still want something positive. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:59 So that was a big episode. That was great, man. They were all super cool. Yeah. They were great guys. Yes, there was a lot of people in the studio. Good, yeah, man. Did we shoot that movie team?
Starting point is 01:01:10 We had our first world champion, Jade Cargill. Yeah. Women's WWE champion. you know what I'm saying finding a unicorn here I mean and we got to go got to go right to
Starting point is 01:01:22 SummerSlam that was fun we need to do more stuff like that this year just for like our brand period we got we got to go outside guys
Starting point is 01:01:29 baby D if you want to really take this brand and next just let me body slam you here in the studio we didn't got to go to SummerSlam
Starting point is 01:01:35 baby I promise you if I body slam you on this table right here and this shit break out of here out of everything we just named
Starting point is 01:01:41 that'd be my favorite moment of 2025 if you just body slam her over there right now can I fight back or do I just later helplessly. No, it's not a real. It's a wrestling body slam.
Starting point is 01:01:49 You have to like get into the motion. Yeah. It's like poetry. Like I know what you're about to do. You know what I'm about to do. Yinn and Yang, Jada and styles. Same thing. It's the rhythm.
Starting point is 01:02:00 Where's the bean bag? You get body slam on the beanbag. Okay. Nah, we got to do it through a table. We got to get one of them cheap picnic tables, baby, Dee. We have, no, we have one here. Nah, that's a little, that got some, that got some, some legs to it. We need the cheap, cheap ones.
Starting point is 01:02:15 Okay. Because I don't want to slam baby D too hard. Like I just want to just kind of just drop on top of the table on that shit break. It's once the table break, it's like, yo, Ma'all tripping. We're going to beat the allegations this year, Ma'all, because we did not beat them last year. But allegations? The allegations. The me and you allegations.
Starting point is 01:02:30 We had multiple moments, viral moments. They're going to keep pumping that no matter what, baby, dude. That ain't, we can't. I'm just saying if you slam me, it doesn't, like, really help. Like, we're not helping our thing. Yeah, they're going to call that love is quarrel. They're going to go, they don't just go somewhere and get married. Like, that's all you're going to say.
Starting point is 01:02:43 Love is complicated. Yeah. You know how when you want to, when you be like, I'm going to fight you when I see you like that. That's type flirting shit. That's what they're going to say. We ain't never. See, but that we never did no shit like that. We never said no shit like that to each other.
Starting point is 01:02:54 We have never done that. So when people to have this thing of being baby D is just stupid. Like what are you? You asked her some very HR questionable questions. I asked her questions I would ask my sister. Yo, you ovulating? You tripping. You are all right?
Starting point is 01:03:09 I asked my sister shit like that. I'm just saying like that's how I speak to baby D like a sister. Pease did that one edit when we were sitting on the couch together and we were giggling and laughing. I laid my head on your shoulder. Then Pease did the other edit where I got up and spun around. Yeah, the Jewelty. The Jewelty.
Starting point is 01:03:26 One, the one where you licked your lips. When I was spinning around that one, we have a couple moments. When I asked you to impregnate me and fertilize my eggs, Jamaris. All of that happened this year. Oh, Jamaris was a good time. All of that happened this year.
Starting point is 01:03:41 You guys would have had some cute kids. I think that was the artwork, right? Yeah, that was the artwork. Jamaris. Nobody tells you how many random little charges hit you every week. One minute you're grabbing coffee. Next thing you know it's a delivery fee, a parking ticket, and somehow you bought a plant that you don't even like.

Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim? Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam Jek.
Starting point is 01:06:14 And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack. I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Starting point is 01:06:42 Thank you for finishing that sentence. Yes. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When you listen to podcasts about AI and tech and the future of humanity, the hosts always act like they know what they're talking about and they are experts at everything.
Starting point is 01:07:08 Here, the Nick Dick and Poll Show, we're not afraid to make mistakes. What Cougler did that I think was so unique. He's the writer-director. Who do you think he is? I don't know. You mean, like, the president? You think Canada has a president? You think China has a president?
Starting point is 01:07:26 Those law a rouset. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. Yep. It was a good one.
Starting point is 01:07:41 I like that saying. It is an actual Polish saying. It is an actual poland. Better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift
Starting point is 01:07:50 who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was. I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick, Dick, and Poll show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 01:07:57 or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault and Our Stars, and now I guess also is the co-host of the away end, a brand new world soccer podcast. I'm Daniel Alarcon,
Starting point is 01:08:11 a writer and journalist, and John and I have known each other since we were kids. My first World Cup was Mexico 86. I was nine years old. I watched every game and I fell in love. On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football,
Starting point is 01:08:24 all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. For us, soccer, football, is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan.
Starting point is 01:08:40 I love this game. I love its history, it's hope, it's heartbreak, and above all, it's beauty. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important. Listen to the away end with Daniel Auer Kohn and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you already know there's a lot to break down. Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man.
Starting point is 01:09:11 They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew. Pinky has financial issues. I like the bougie style of Housewives show. I think it looks like it's going to be interesting. On the podcast, Reality with the King, I, Carlos King, recap the biggest moments from your favorite reality shows, including the Real Housewives franchise, the drama, the alliances, and the team everybody's talking about.
Starting point is 01:09:35 As an executive producer in reality television, I'm not just watching it. I understand the game. As somebody who creates shows, I'll even say this. At the end of the day, when people are, at home, they want entertainment. To hear this and more, listen to Reality with the King on the
Starting point is 01:09:52 IHard Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Josh, all right, so what was our highest viewed episodes this year? I want to see if it aligns with some of my favorite stuff. I assume the DJ had one was probably the highest rated one, just because of what was going on
Starting point is 01:10:12 at the time. 85 South at number two, which that makes sense. Those guys are great. And that conversation was great. Carlos went a little crazy. That's the type of time mall was on. I'm actually shocked that has that many views. I thought he was going to get canceled.
Starting point is 01:10:26 I mean, Carlos from that same cloth, man. He said, you can't speak to me and suck dick. Oh, my Lord. The audacity of you after putting that in your mouth to think you can speak to me in such a way. All right, Josh. What's number three? Bryson Taylor interview. Love that.
Starting point is 01:10:48 I would assume poor minds is close, though, right? Right? I love that poor minds conversation. Amy and Lex got to solve our differences. Yeah, poor minds is great. That was a fun cop. When pretty women in the office is drinking and smelling good. Both y'all just be showing out when they're here. We do, I do not. I came to argue with Lex. Y'all came to flirt. I was showing out. I was flirting. Well, you're just charming. You weren't flirting. You're just charming when women are around.
Starting point is 01:11:18 That's the way you're supposed to be. You're straight. Yeah, but flirting? I was. I wasn't flirting with nobody. I didn't say you. Charming. No, you said I was flirting. Don't say charming now. Damaris said charming.
Starting point is 01:11:27 I said, you said flirting. You just in the package deal with Damaris. Y'all a couple. Damaris wasn't flirting. She represents you. She wasn't flirting. She would.
Starting point is 01:11:34 I was chilling. You know, Damaris don't flirt. She's going to lick that copy immediately. She don't get a fuck. Yo, what the fuck is? That's how baby did. You wouldn't flirt with Dre? I would.
Starting point is 01:11:43 Oh, I'm not above it. I'm not above it. I'm no better than a man. What's what we're talking about? No, but I like, when we have the women in here, mall's jollier. Jollyer.
Starting point is 01:11:55 First of all, baby, D, baby, D, don't say I'm jollier. Don't say I'm jollier. Don't say, when the women hair. Because then to say I was jollier means I'm jolly at some point.
Starting point is 01:12:02 Don't say I'm jolly. I've never came here jolly. That might be my, my 2026 company goal. Mm-hmm. Well, I can't go to TaskRabbit. I'm going to go to OnlyFans and find a woman that will be here hourly
Starting point is 01:12:14 just to sit where Josh is sitting for every episode. A pretty woman, Mall's type, just so he could show out crazy every episode. Well, you gotta switch her up, though, because you know Mar get tired of his bitches.
Starting point is 01:12:27 It'd be a month to month type of thing. Don't do that. What? I didn't need it. All right, my man, we cut it out. My man, all right. No, you gotta cut it out. Just don't do that, though.
Starting point is 01:12:36 Don't do me like that, don't do me like that. You do me like that. You think a different woman a month would work? A different woman a month. All right? I don't have to do biweekly, right? No. That's going to get very, my hot 97 salary
Starting point is 01:12:47 can't cover that. Like my hourly shit. Once a month, a new woman that could sit right there just to keep them all, you know, motivated. Y'all love painting this narrative about me. It's not a narrative. It is a narrative. I don't think there's anything wrong with the truth. I'm not saying there's nothing wrong.
Starting point is 01:13:03 Everyone's cooler and funnier when women are around. I'm not saying, I'm like that with company, period. It could be, Sean C could be sitting over there and I'm happy to see him and I'm going to, like, you know, it doesn't matter. Y'all make it seem like when women come around. Peach, peach, you were there for the day-law episode. So when Sean C walked in, did Maul get funnier? Sean C is a legend. We love him.
Starting point is 01:13:28 All right, but what woman walked in and I got funnier? Everett, Ma, I ain't gonna lie. They get in here and you, you do get to cheat. Who? It's okay, though. Name. Did I do it with Joy? Yes.
Starting point is 01:13:38 Hell yes. Hell yes. You were hilarious. All right, look at Josh. He's in on it now. Josh, what did I do? Josh is in on it now. What did I do, Josh?
Starting point is 01:13:46 What did I do, Josh? Go ahead. You're a guest. She's a guest. It's a guest. studio I'm doing I offered fucking de la so water and tea I offered I made a I made a cup of tea for D nice yeah but like for the guy you dab him on his cheek I was gonna kiss D nice on his cheek and telling me smells good and make a fucking cup yeah D nice came in here I was like
Starting point is 01:14:10 you know D nice what's up man you want some tea I made a cup of tea for D I put honey in it for him and all like like so I do the same thing it's guest I do that with okay I try to paint this narrative like so you're gonna say with a straight face right now in 2025 You had the same energy with Life Jennings as you did with Ashley Nicole. Lie to my face. Take the sunglasses off and lie to my face. I did. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:34 I did. Let him get a shit off. I argue. You know what else I'm not doing? How you doing? How's everything? Yeah. 2026.
Starting point is 01:14:41 He's trying to make it a bad. I don't think it's a bad thing. It's not a thing. But yes, you are more charming on and off mic when there is a pretty woman here. You just turn the trunk. You're friendly either way, though. You can call it. hospitable, whatever you want to do.
Starting point is 01:14:56 I don't care. I'm just telling you the facts. All right. Let me just talk to the only person. But first of all, I used to be that way, too. Let me talk to the only person I can trust in this room. Pige, is that true? Fuck you, man. You leave me to try to take your grenades, Pete. Leave me in the fucking trenches.
Starting point is 01:15:17 Yeah. Listen, at a time, I was the same way, too. There's nothing wrong with that. It's okay. Oh, I get all types of funny one. holes here. It ain't, it ain't just you. It's us. You know what I'm saying? It's us together. We twin. I just feel like I treated. Damaris being bisexual has also a bi personality when it comes when pretty women are here, she'll be that way. But when a man she deems fine,
Starting point is 01:15:42 she gets super bashful and quiet out of nowhere. She'd be making the hose laugh. Y'all know who my But when a man comes around that she liked, I'm like, DeMaris, talk. Like what? You be quiet the whole episode. Y'all, I know who my favorite guest was. We know who your favorite guest was. Joey Baddx. We scored all over your face.
Starting point is 01:16:02 You was in here trying to give us. Can you ask Chat, GBT, the word count for Damaris at the Joey Badass interview? She was trying to give us the knowledge, the science on the day, the mathematics and all of that. She came in here with all of that, the mathmatics. I'm like, she ain't never gave me and you the mathematics on the day. You know, I, that's the only guest this year I got a picture with, too. He's taking a picture with none of y'all fucking can. Joey, bad.
Starting point is 01:16:26 Yo, that shit is so funny. Now, shout out, dude. Joey is cool. Like, I'm joking. He's obviously happily in a relationship. Yeah. What that mean? Don't do that.
Starting point is 01:16:36 I mean, not for you. Oh, okay. I'm just saying, like, in general. What that mean? No. You know, he's just nice to look at. I don't know what the fuck y'all want for me. No, he's in track.
Starting point is 01:16:43 I showed up to work. Niggas was like, you don't never go to the interviews. Why are you going into work? Trust me. Trust me, we all knew. When you walked in here that great Wednesday morning, we all knew. Like, she didn't have her. She'd get mad if she got it coming on Wednesday.
Starting point is 01:16:57 All of a sudden, she hit bright and early. She got all durs. She got all kinds of shit. We get it. Take the picture with Joey and sit out. God bless. Fresh off Pilates. Like, you went to the gym this morning.
Starting point is 01:17:10 I put my nice jeans. Y'all know I'd be in here sweats, hair, be raggedy. No, first of all. That's some early 2009 The nice jeans Remember when that was your thing Your nice jeans? A good one
Starting point is 01:17:24 Remember when you had your nice jeans? Yeah Those in the back of the car Oh man That was such a simpler time Remember the nice jeans Nah It's Friday
Starting point is 01:17:33 I know I know who'll be in class I'm gonna put my nice jeans on It's hard to find a good pair Nice jeans down Now all these jeans look like I'm about to get on stage And fucking perform
Starting point is 01:17:42 I just want good jeans Man Yeah When you Stadium jeans. Don't do that. I don't want summer jam jeans. Was there anyone that I switched up with when they came to the show?
Starting point is 01:17:55 That you got a little giggly around? Joy, well, no, because, you know, not joy. I was thinking about who you were giggly around, but it's because you know them. Like, you know Joy, you know poor mind. So it was like more comfort. You weren't doing like your awkward thing. Yeah, no, those are friends. I mean.
Starting point is 01:18:11 Unless you know them, then you're very much. No, if Rory don't know them, he head down in his phone. Hey, what's up? and just walking away. Well, I mean, I like to do that anyways just because I'd rather have the conversations like on the microphone. Because a lot of times when you do that shit, like all the great stuff is sitting here while equipment's getting put together and all that.
Starting point is 01:18:29 It's like, damn, we should save this. Yeah. I prefer to do some of that on the mic. I mean, Miss Pat, I was getting a little giggly, but for other reasons. Miss Pat was great. I love Ms. Pat. You guys do good with comedians. Yeah, I mean, they actually know how to talk and laugh.
Starting point is 01:18:46 shit and not be all stuck up and politically correct when all told homie what's a standup what's the standup scene like in Mexico yo that shit and he from L.A. Oh my God that was fucking hilarious
Starting point is 01:19:00 what's the standup seen like in Africa all right but can we not understand why I would ask that though I just thought that he may have done comedy in Mexico before is that hard to like I don't think it's hard to believe but it's it's just funny. It's just funny. I get it, but it's like, I'm like, wait. Because the preamble should have
Starting point is 01:19:20 been, like, have you ever done comedy in like your, the country of like your nationality? You could have asked him that. And then said, okay, what's it like there? I think that's worse. I think me phrasing like that would have been way worse. Yeah, because, yeah, it's not that we didn't do research. It was just like misinformation. You didn't take that out of it. Oh, okay. He just read that he was Mexican. All right, man. That's what I'm in here. that was, I can't believe that was this year. That was, damn.
Starting point is 01:19:55 All right, so we said, what's the moment of the year? Wednesdays was some of the nastiest days of this year. Yeah. I just want to put it that way. What was the moment of the year? Joey Badass versus the world. That's my favorite moment. Agree.
Starting point is 01:20:10 If we're talking music wise, by far. Joey Badass versus the world. Being in the crib and hearing Lux come on that second verse. Oh my God. I felt like Flex. was playing Otis again. Like, me and Roord were like, yeah, we had a time. I was running around my own live.
Starting point is 01:20:27 I felt like a child again. When Joey Badass and Lux. Yeah, but Charles. Go ahead. Say it. Let's go viral for the end of the year. But y'all did the same thing when that cold record dropped. You niggas sat in the front.
Starting point is 01:20:41 No, we just listen to it. That's not true. There's just video footage of us listening to it. And we're going like this. If there was video footage of me and the marriage when Joey Badass and Lux came up. Go back to the group chat. Y'all was going crazy. It's on my Instagram currently.
Starting point is 01:20:54 No, not this video. I'm talking about in our group chat. Yeah, we love the song. We were very happy to hear it. It's a surprise song from cold. Like, yeah, we're excited. We're cold fan. And we like to annoy you.
Starting point is 01:21:04 Sometimes we throw a little sauce on. Why would that annoy me, though? I listen to Cole. I know. I'm just saying, but sometimes we just try to make the group chat interesting. By throwing a little sauce of like, this might be the greatest song
Starting point is 01:21:14 I've ever heard my life. Like, we didn't mean that. If we were being recorded with that. Yeah, y'all meant that. Don't do that. Don't say we didn't mean that. He said, y'all didn't mean that. Oh, no, I met it.
Starting point is 01:21:23 I know you met it. What's the name of that song? I don't even remember. Oh. Yeah, I mean, Clouds is fire, but it's not the greatest song of Walltop. That's what I'm saying. But I don't feel like we acted like the greatest song in the back. I feel like we just, it was a surprise song, Cole went crazy.
Starting point is 01:21:36 Oh, that's that's up there for first of the year. Yeah, true. Rapping wise. He went nuts on that. He did. Yeah, that Cloud's version should be up there for first of the year. When Joey dropped, me and Rory, we were, remember we were driving. one of the songs dropped was I can't remember but we were driving from the studio to your house
Starting point is 01:21:55 and then we were listening and we were but the town one the town was dropped later that dropped when we were in the crib that's where we should add I wish you had your vlogging shit going yeah we was running laps around we was getting behind the couch we was running laps yeah we were so we were just excited we were excited it was New York was back that was my favorite fucking moment and then we had I remember we call a reason to clown him about cost a damn Kai Tate your ass up boy. That whole week was so much fun. We had a ball.
Starting point is 01:22:23 Yes, that would probably be like my moment at year. And then it came and went, and we went right back to just bullshit stand stuff with Kendrick and Drake. Yeah, I know. The internet was so much fun that, like, people actually just cared about music and not stand them for that week.
Starting point is 01:22:37 That was my favorite moment. Shout to Joey. I mean, shit, even with the town joint, that's up there for verse of the year. Joey went nuts on that. Joey had a great year, man. That was my favorite moment of the year. by far Joey Badass first, everybody.
Starting point is 01:22:52 Shit, not for nothing. As much as the whole BT thing with behind the scenes where that kind of annoyed mall and I just because we impeached as well because he had to come with us. That was annoying that we had to up and do that shit out of nowhere, but a lot of cool moments did come from that. There was a lot of fun, fun conversations.
Starting point is 01:23:12 We had a good time with BT. Yeah, definitely. During that time. Definitely. Then we got Ray Vaughn versus Baby D. That was a fun moment. you're very fond yo I was beefing all year
Starting point is 01:23:23 all year I'm at peace oh next year I'm at peace oh she said the same thing every year I was beefing all year I don't know the fuck what's going on next
Starting point is 01:23:34 I'm not beefing with no rappers and they fans next year peace it's all peace I just remember she said that Josh let's put that on a bulletin board and then when March comes
Starting point is 01:23:44 she starts beefing with somebody we can just scratch that off real quick she's beefing already in March like three months in that she's already beefing. Can I go into my soft girl era? Can I get my 2026?
Starting point is 01:23:56 Like, can I, can I be at peace? You'll be at peace whenever you want, bro. Yeah. No, but I want my soft girl era piece where, like, you don't have to do anything. And, like, that's what's expected. The whole world should cater to you. I'd like, can I have that year?
Starting point is 01:24:09 Is that allowed? Not even what soft girl is. It's a thousand percent what you guys made it. No, not. The same way woke had a definition and then the Republicans changed it is the same way soft girl had a, that was a definition
Starting point is 01:24:20 and now you guys is just like, the world just owes me everything. Soft girl, Aramade. She doesn't have to lead in the relationship. She can just be at ease. She can put her guard down and trust the man to lead, you know, that type of soft girl. She doesn't have to be so hard and so like, you know, make all of the decisions. And, you know, she can be on guard. Be on guard.
Starting point is 01:24:40 She can trust that her man that he got it. He's, you know, everything. Emotionally, mainly. Emotionally. I don't have to carry all the emotional weight of this room. So I just sit there and do nothing. the emotional weight of this. Not an emotional weight of this.
Starting point is 01:24:52 So what does the soft girl do in return? You just don't get it. And you're dedicated to not getting it. That's fine. I applaud your dedication to massage you. This is how women work. And this is why therapy with couples therapy is fucked up. This is why you need somebody there to call women out on their shit.
Starting point is 01:25:09 He's looking for understanding. I just asked the question. And I asked the question of what it meant. You're not going into the conversation in good faith. It's the argument done in bad faith. Because no matter what I say, you're going to twist it around. I've been explaining it. Me and Maul were saying to explain it.
Starting point is 01:25:25 So you're like, oh, so it means do nothing. That's not what we're saying. Well, first of all, in the Bible, you can't judge someone else's faith. Their faith is their faith. Yes. That's not, come on. Do you want to get to the- I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:25:34 I didn't know when you were being touched. You were also listening. That was the time when I was listening the most. How could I forget? I didn't mean to laugh. I'm sorry. That's why I was laughing when Damaris was like, you guys laughed at my pain all year.
Starting point is 01:25:47 That's some fucking nerve. You got some fucking... No, no, no, no, don't deflect. Don't deflect. I'm asking in good faith, what the fuck saw girl air amends? You got the fucking fans calling me Damaris the scientist. That's like starting to stick
Starting point is 01:26:00 and I don't fucking like that. That's equal to laughing at me being molested? You laugh at being molested all the time. It's not even close. He laughs at being molested all the time. He has a coping mechanism. Oh, okay, well, I'm sorry. Fuck, why will them all laugh
Starting point is 01:26:13 and Miss Pat laugh and all the fans laugh but I can't fucking laugh. I don't even know the trauma of Demaris the scientist anyways. Maul said, if I catch her, man, she and should I tell you? And you was like, don't tell her. That's Demaris the scientists. You did say that.
Starting point is 01:26:27 But I also said I would tell her. He did say that. But that ain't the... He did say that. And I told men that we have mutual friends with. I said, if you do anything around me, I'm snitching. I'm DeMaris's friend first. I don't care about you.
Starting point is 01:26:42 I say, hey, don't do your dirt around me. I'm telling Demaris. That's my best friend. Don't do no dirt around me. True play. for real. That's my nigga. True right. For real. Ask. Ask. Ask Farrell.
Starting point is 01:26:52 Next year. Let's not laugh at each other's pain. Let's dedicate ourselves. What? Ew. If y'all don't keep laughing at me be in touch, get away from me. Ew. Gross. We got to laugh at the pain, baby, Dee. We can't never abandon that.
Starting point is 01:27:05 Just because I'm going to be my soft girl era, doesn't mean you can't laugh at my pain. Rory just wants to go to Pilates and get a latte after and go, you know, just try on things at A-Lo and, you know, that's what he wants to do. Yeah. My only ward. is just Lulu, Lulu tights. That's all. That's what I think is.
Starting point is 01:27:23 That's what he wants for himself. Yeah, Pilates and Lattees. So asking in good faith, since I'm going into my soft girl era, I don't want to just take. I want to give as much as I take. So what should I give in my soft girl era? It's not about giving or taking. That's what you're misunderstanding. Softgirl era is, I'm at peace.
Starting point is 01:27:43 I'm not arguing. I'm not fighting. My nervous system is it all upset because I'm sure. stressed out. I'm super, super stressed out over work. I'm super, super stressed out about my relationship. Everything is balanced and aligned in my life and I'm avoiding unnecessary drama and turmoil and things that are going to hire my fucking cortisol levels. I'm at peace. That's what soft. I'm in my soft feminine. I'm not on guard. I'm not like miserable. I'm not anxious. Like that's what that is. Oh, you can just take a volume for that. That hopes.
Starting point is 01:28:14 I think that's if you look up what volume does and it's side effects I think it's everything that she just named yeah all right I'm in my volume era we are in our volume area we definitely are definitely in my volume area yeah 100% so this the last episode of the year anything y'all want to say to each other um jokes aside I do appreciate everybody in this room yes really really appreciate you guys this this was a good year great a lot of ups and downs a lot of crazy shit, a lot of great shit. That's every year. Up and downs every year. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:51 And I'm happy, knock on wood again. How would you know you up, Roy, if you're not down? How would you appreciate the sunshine if you've never been rained down? Sunny days wouldn't be special if it wasn't for rain. Exactly. Joy wouldn't feel so good if it wasn't for pain. Exactly. Death got to be easy because life is hard.
Starting point is 01:29:07 It'll leave you physically, mentally, and emotionally scarred. See, you can't even name that poet. That poet is crazy. That poet. You can't even name that poet. You didn't even take that class. Yo. They don't teach Curtis Jackson 101?
Starting point is 01:29:22 No, they don't teach that. No, but no, I'm very thankful for everyone in this room and everyone that's on our team that's not in this room. It's been a great year. I thank you for everyone's effort, for real. And thank you to the listeners. Thank you to the supporters. Thank you to the listeners. The subscribers, the people in the comments, the fake pages to curse us out.
Starting point is 01:29:44 We appreciate all of it. And we should especially give the fans and listeners like a real thank you. This is the first year we haven't toward. Yep. And usually we get to say that to them like in person at the end of shows, meeting, greetings, kicking it after. Yeah. We didn't get to do that this year, which mainly, you know, falls on me and having a child.
Starting point is 01:30:02 But, you know, thank you guys for real. I wish we could have said it in person, but I had to give, you know, my life together. Amara can't be at every Chicago. It's okay, man. That means we just have more. Next time we do decide to go out, then you just, means we have more to talk about more to catch up on. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:30:17 We got to see what people have been doing in their lives. Hopefully everybody is doing much better than the last time we saw them. Everyone seemed like they were doing all right. Well, I mean, outside of the relationships you broke up. Like, I'd like to go to Seattle and get an update. Some of those was for the better. Maybe I helped. I helped a lot of people out.
Starting point is 01:30:33 May it doesn't look like that yet. But maybe I did. That wasn't your person. Yeah. Jack Harlow was your person. Exactly. Looking forward to the New Year, 26. continue blessings, continued health for all of us in this room.
Starting point is 01:30:49 And for those of you watching and listening, continue blessings and health to you all. Gotcha. You doing checkups regularly? Me? Like on myself? Not like internally, like to the doctor. Oh yeah?
Starting point is 01:31:00 Like physical. Yeah, yeah. I know Maugh stay at the doctor. Why? Damn. Not in a bad way. I know I recognize men who stay at the doctor. I know you stay at the doctor.
Starting point is 01:31:10 Oh, okay. I mean, I've got to take care of myself now. and it's getting to that age this is not me making a joke whatsoever get that prostate check it's that time bro yeah rest of the piece of my brother
Starting point is 01:31:21 combat jack his passing anniversary you know was this past week yeah listen guys this camera sometimes you need to get a fig in your ass
Starting point is 01:31:33 not sexually coming from somebody that's a man that knows it's a man that knows I have laid I have laid on that deli paper just like this The deli paper.
Starting point is 01:31:44 I have laid right on that sandwich paper. Oh, the doctor is treating me like a pastrami sandwich many of nights. There has been the nurse there for a witness because legally there has to be a witness when someone is putting a thumb in your ass. It's a thumb? Oh, I didn't like look back at it. That was something else. I thought it would be like a middle finger, like the longest finger. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:32:03 Why you thought that? Because it would be the longest finger. I don't know how far. No, I don't think it's a thumb. I really don't know what finger they put in your ass. It's the pointed finger? It's the pointer sisters. I literally just, I try to find something, whether it be the cabinet or something.
Starting point is 01:32:16 To focus on, yeah, breathe through. And then, worry we on that deadly people like, make me a bird so I can fly far, far away. He said to pray that Jimmy was saying. That was fucking hilarious. Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far, far away. And meanwhile, forest sitting there, like, I can't walk. At the, um, Planned Parenthood, when they give me you an abortion, they got like a fish. Oh, yo, yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:41 Allegedly, it's on YouTube. Oh, where are we going with this? They got like a picture. Are you pro life or not? They got a picture of Mollity abortion clinic like this. Like J. Prince. Okay, all right. They'd be handing out pamphlets of me at the abortion clinic like to get it.
Starting point is 01:33:01 Hit the jail pose. Yo, that is fucking crazy. I'm sorry, baby D. I didn't mean to fuck your story up. To go off what y'all were saying at the abortion doctor's office, they will have a picture of like waves. on the ceiling for you to like stare at and focus on the waves while you're going through that process nice yes how many waves you counted me boy fuck you how you are you asking that question though you're talking about the waves how many times she saw the waves go fuck you this is something that I was
Starting point is 01:33:33 told by people that I know yeah yeah no a friend a close of a friend a friend of a friend I know I get would you go with her to the to the clinic who hypothetically the girl you would be having an abortion with in 2026 I went to the clinic with girls that wasn't my girls from my girls from my homies, dude. That's a friend I am. That's sick. Yeah, I got cursed. I never told that story? No, it's the best way to end the year. Holy shit. I'm about that at you my say. Pour me some more rosé, Josh. I would never tell who it was. Of course not. No, nobody's trying to ask for that. A friend of mine, he was a high profile. He's a high profile
Starting point is 01:34:03 person. And a girl he was dating was, she needed to have an abortion. He wasn't, he was out of town. So he asked me to pick her up and take her. So I did. And they curate my walk, you know, we walked in the clinic together. All abortion rights. Signs was out. Pro-life people was out there. Yeah, they have fingernails. Show me pictures of, you know,
Starting point is 01:34:23 aborted fetuses and things like that. I wanted to say so bad, this ain't even my bitch. I wanted to say, I agree with y'all. So bad. Like, I agree, and I respect what y'all out here doing. This ain't my bitch, though. Like, you know what I'm just doing my man to solid.
Starting point is 01:34:38 But, yeah, that's the only time. All right, so I guess I'm asking, his reasoning was he wanted you to do that. to make sure he knew that she saw it through or just because somebody support. Yeah. Like she wanted like somebody to be there because of course it's a traumatic. I went. I went and picked up.
Starting point is 01:34:56 I just wasn't sure if he was like, yo, make sure this bitch gets his stuff. No, no, no, it wasn't like that. Like she was, she ain't got no friend. She definitely, I don't, I mean, she do, but I don't know if she wanted, you know what I mean, that? I don't know. Keep it to herself type. Yeah, but I was cool. I was like, yeah, I told my message.
Starting point is 01:35:09 He was like, yo, can you do me in favor, bro? You can you just pick up, make sure she good and take her home. I was like, yeah, I got you. I wasn't doing shit but selling drugs that day. Because they won't let you get it unless you got some idea with you. Yeah, you got to have somebody to be able to take you home. So, yeah, took her, went to go to get a prescription after and then dropped off home. Yeah, yo, that's such a like.
Starting point is 01:35:29 And then I went and had to protected sex. I hear you. That'd be such like a funny. It's the cycle, baby, Dee. You know, explaining to your girl that you had to notice my homeboy girl, I had to take her to go get an abortion. Oh, yeah. Imagine being seen. The way we would have went as a family.
