Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. On paper, the three hosts of the Nick Dick and Poll show are geniuses. We can explain how AI works, data centers, but there are certain things that we don't necessarily understand. Better version of Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time.
Starting point is 00:00:23 I actually thought it was. I got that wrong. But hey, no one's perfect. We're pretty close, though. Listen to the Nick Dick and Poll show on the iPod. I-heart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Daniel Alarcon, and this is my friend. This is much more famous than I am.
Starting point is 00:00:40 I wouldn't go that far, but I'm John Green. Co-host of the podcast The Away End with my old friend Daniel. On our podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important. Listen to the Away End with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, it's Edwin Castro, also known as Castro 1021. And I'm Conky, his best friend and business manager.
Starting point is 00:01:14 And we've got a new show called The 1021 Podcast. I'm taking you behind the scenes on how I became one of Twitch's most popular streamers. We also love sports. And with the World Cup right around the corner, we'll be breaking down the biggest stories. lines ahead of the big tournament here in the USA. Listen to the 1021 podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The volume.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Yeah, that tea is hot. It'll be quiet now. It's getting chilly outside. It's not. It's time. It is. It's scary hours. This is the scariest hour I've ever been a part of.
Starting point is 00:02:04 Yeah. Very scared. Couldn't get no sleep. He wanted war games. Only got more pain. Who is that about? Poor thing. How you feeling, man?
Starting point is 00:02:16 You good? I'm excited. Yeah? I'm very excited. What's going on? So you were talking about J. Cole. You can apologize to me. Because I know you want this to be the apologized to Mall episode.
Starting point is 00:02:26 Now you can apologize to me for saying, hey, I think you were talking about J. Cole. And you were like, no way I was talking about J. Cole. No, I said you said, J. Poor thing wanted war gains only got more pain. Mm. It's quoting lines already. Yes. Off the snippet.
Starting point is 00:02:40 Mm. Classic. Do we think it's the intro? Well, that's hot. I bet it is hot. Yeah, man. I'm sure that it's hot for ice, man. I got peeg to laugh.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Why you so quiet? It's a podcast. No, I thought you was getting your still. Listen, man, I'm just an avid hip-hop fan that's excited for music. That's all. Yes, new music. It's always good to have new music. You know that.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Well, okay. I mean, I won't apologize to you because I didn't, I didn't wrong you. You know I don't need an apartment. But yes, we had heard that maybe Cole would be dropping on Christmas. That didn't happen last week. Thought maybe it could happen. Today, as of January 14th, he announces that on February 6th, we will be getting the fall off.
Starting point is 00:03:32 He dropped a teaser with a little snippet in there and cut it off right before he started rapping. I'm excited, man. Vinals, $50. I already saw Demaris. She's in the hospital and already posted her receipt. She couldn't wait to get healthy to buy a vital. We don't even offer health insurance. She better have her assing.
Starting point is 00:03:53 She needs to save her money. She better have her assing him money. It's going to be another fall off. That's crazy. And we will call Demeris in a second. But, no, I don't like you now playing coy now that the mics are on. Like, what's up, man? War's back on.
Starting point is 00:04:08 What war? But guess who ain't going to crack? Part of me, I had to laugh at that. Why are y'all trying to do this another year, man? Do what? We can't be excited that one of the greatest rappers of our generation is putting out his most anticipated album. Yes. He did the intro to the fall off on KOD, which was, I don't know, I think I was 11 when that came out. It's been 30 years since then.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Yeah. I am very excited that we're finally getting fall off. I liked, I didn't know who was, this just dropped, so forgive us for fact checking. I don't know who's speaking in this trailer, but the voiceover is alluding to the fact that, yeah, man, people get famous and then they fall off. We don't even focus on what it even takes to get to a point where you can fall off. Like the most, the people that fall off like, at least you got to that point. I thought it was a really cool trailer. I like the concept of this album.
Starting point is 00:04:58 But I mean, I'm ecstatic. Two more weeks. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. No, you're not. I am. Why, you know I'm looking forward to this album. You know I'm looking forward to that. I don't know if we're doing all that.
Starting point is 00:05:09 But yeah, I'm looking forward to time. We should drive to North Carolina. And listen to it there in North Carolina. Yeah. Yeah. Just in the street. Just drive the North Carolina. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Drive the Durham. Go past Fayetteville. Just find a town and just listen. Listen to it, yeah. So we can really understand and feel the music. Okay. I know you want to deny on Mike that you were talking about Jay Cole. Or, of course, a good journalist would never give up their sources.
Starting point is 00:05:33 I think that's like journalism 101, unless you're talking about Watergate or some shit. But have you heard anything about what is on this album since you did have some knowledge to when it would be released? Um, yeah, I heard some things about it. Can we share any of those? I mean, I didn't, nothing like, I didn't hear no music, anything like that. But, you know. Some of the content, maybe some of the features. Maybe that's how you know.
Starting point is 00:05:59 No, I don't know about any features. Okay. I don't know. I don't know by any features. And honestly, I don't care to know. I'd rather just hear it when I hear it. Like, yeah. I don't really care to know about, you know, that much detail in it. But I did hear that the album was dropping, was slated to drop last week.
Starting point is 00:06:16 but obviously February 6th is the official date now. Don't know if it was pushed or whatever, but I had very good information that it was slated to drop January 9th. I mean, the vinyl game is much different. They get turned over quickly, especially if you're somebody like Jay Cole that can afford to turn vinals over very quickly. I mean, great strategy this far out to start selling vinals
Starting point is 00:06:38 because your first week numbers will be great, especially if you're someone like Cole. I could see vinals being a thing, though, regardless of maybe having a push to this when, you know, this trailer could have been shown. He understands the optics. This is, like you said, most anticipated album. It would be a good move to have this on vinyl as well. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:56 This is obviously going to be a collector's piece that a lot of his fan base is probably going to want to have. And then people like ourselves, we just, we've been into vinyl, you know, for some years now. So, yeah, so I think that it's, you know, it's a smart move. But either way, happy that we finally got an official release date from, Cole himself. So yeah, now we get to sit back in and wait in anticipation to hear one of the best rappers of his generation. Hear what they did.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Can I be like a YouTuber, Reddeter person? I kind of feel like you may have been right with the Christmas thing based off the date. I think you were wrong last week. 2626 is the date. and then 25, 25 with the Christmas shit. I think that it was either Christmas or this date is what I think Cole was going for. I don't think he would have passed up 26-26 for last week, in my opinion. But I'm a nerd.
Starting point is 00:08:00 I like shit like that. Do you think that Cole really dug in his back? The fact that I was born under 26, you think that he kind of made that part of it? You think he went that deep? You think that he got that that introspect? Do you think he really went? I'm, I don't,
Starting point is 00:08:17 that's how intelligent I am. I didn't even realize what I just did. See, I didn't even know that information. Let me be very clear before anybody clips that. But I am joking when I say that. Because that is the nastiest. I don't want people to even think that I think that.
Starting point is 00:08:28 That is completely a joke. But you said 26, 26. Yeah. It just sparked that. Yeah. I don't mind repeating myself based off our last fall off conversation a few months ago before the whole date situation. it was a rumor that was out there.
Starting point is 00:08:44 It's not something that I am saying from behind the scenes. There were a lot of rumors that it was heavily featured on the fall off with artists that have, quote, unquote, fell off. I.e., there was a rumor, there was a Cameron feature, a Waka Flaka feature. Like, he was picking artists from that era that, you know, had a hype, still legends in their own right, but going off the fall off concept. I do think that was real at one point. I think it's scrapped. and while I think there's a Kendrick feature on here I think that may be the only feature
Starting point is 00:09:14 or there's zero features I'm starting to change my mind as the time goes and I think there may be zero features Can we act like these mics aren't in front of us right now? For sure and I ask your question as my friend. Of course. Do you think if Kendrick is on this album do you really think that's not crazy?
Starting point is 00:09:33 That wouldn't be crazy to you? Beyond, let's just have an honest conversation. Fuck these mics and these cameras. in these cameras. Is this you and us? I just want to talk about how much I love music. We're in the Audi.
Starting point is 00:09:42 We're in the Audi. Listen, listen. We're in the Audi. When I said Kendrick on there, I meant like it'd be great to hear. They owe us a collab album since fucking 2010. Rory. We're in the aisle.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Since higher power on fucking session 80. Yes, we're in the Audi right now. It's just you and I are talking. I don't drive an Audi. True. We're in the Mazda. Thank you. You think that you think that that wouldn't be crazy?
Starting point is 00:10:07 With everything, the optics, everything that's happening. Are you going to allow me to like answer how I feel without chastising me for how I actually feel. Okay. We're in the Mazda. Keep that in mind. We're in the Mazda.
Starting point is 00:10:20 We're on fucking, we're on Jamaica Ave. We're on Jamaica Ave in the Mazza. Am I looking through Germain Cole's eyes or? No, Rory's eyes. Okay, but here's the thing. I'm in retrospect, Cole made a smarter decision with how everything went. I personally am dumb. So once I put out my delete later, I'm sitting on the.
Starting point is 00:10:41 that shit and we're just here now and it's going to continue on with war. But now that he had made that decision, no, I don't think it's crazy at all for Kendrick to be on it because he set his piece on that stage. This is my brother, I feel really weird dissing him and made me sick to my stomach. Why would that be odd? Friends fucking make mistakes towards each other. He straight out said, yo, that's my brother. I don't want to diss him.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Why would it be weird for them to continue to work on music? You know, hey, I was wrong. You know Kendrick dissed him first. Well, I won't call it this. And this is where the internet clips me and makes it seem like I'm bitter and I'm all of these things. Oh, no, but I came on here after the like that verse and said, hey, Cole, Drake, clock is on. They both should have replied. But Cole made his decision.
Starting point is 00:11:34 I don't think it's odd after what he said on stage to go work with Kendra Lamar. Hey, I don't even want to do this. I'm cool. which is fine, right? I just want to make music with my friends and you're my friend. Let's make music. I don't think that's what. Now, do I think it'd be weird?
Starting point is 00:11:49 Do I think it's not weird if Drake is like, yo, fuck that. I don't want to work with you Cole anymore based off that. I wouldn't think Drake was weird there. But I also don't think it's weird that Cole want to go work with Kendrick. And I still hate that in fucking January 14th, 2026, this is the conversation we're having about a J. Cole album. I don't care that much anymore. Oh. Like, I just want to hear a good album.
Starting point is 00:12:11 that's all I care about same me too I want a good album I was just asking like just us in the Mazzar just kicking it as homies like yo you don't think that's crazy I vocally said I thought it was crazy like he said on stage but I'm not J. Cole and he is entitled as the legend that he is to do whatever the fuck he wants to do and he made his decision so I don't think it's odd if you have Kendrick Lamar on your album okay I don't think it's weird at all but I mean I don't know is it weird uh after I left condoms on your baby seat
Starting point is 00:12:41 that we get black Republican, where do you draw the line? No, it's not weird because both of those gentlemen engaged in the art of battle, which is- Both of them did and then Cole backed out. Might delete later exist. Jay and Nause didn't, like, delete anything and apologize. It's hard to find super ugly. Was just a radio record?
Starting point is 00:13:01 Can you find J-Z apologizing? Yeah, I can. Where? With Angie, because his mom made him do. He apologized to Naz? His mom made him apologize. To Naz? sort of no stop lying his mom made him go on the radio and apologize
Starting point is 00:13:14 he did not apologize and not for what he said he never apologized don't do that don't do that he kind of did no he did not no he did not he did in a very brook no he did not he did not apologize if you if he was offended my bad no he didn't apologize but either way it doesn't matter it's the album is coming now we have to wait and see the content uh see what cole is talking about uh she you know again again features if there are any we know that cole is more than capable of putting out an entire album dope album by herself and no features double platinum no features yeah so you know we'll have to wait and see um yeah again i'm leaning on the no features side at this point i think cole addresses what we're
Starting point is 00:13:53 talking about once and then moves the fuck on because i feel like he already kind of addressed it on port ntonio um is he allowed to talk greasing on or something yeah he is sure he said on port Antonio. It doesn't mean the gun ain't deadly just because it didn't go off. And then he said maybe the gun isn't what I'm trying to be. I think he explained himself in a very articulate way of the entire situation. You can disagree with the situation, but at least he explained it. Do we want a greasy coal album? Like maybe I want the co-father of two album. No, you know where I stand. He's no longer allowed to talk greasy. You can't say that you're better than everybody. No rapper wanted with you. It'd be a problem.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Bishito's Blade, all the shit. You can't, it's none of that. Okay. It better be a lot of love yours on it. It better be 14 tracks of love yours. I would love that. Me too, but it better be that. What's wrong with that?
Starting point is 00:14:47 There's nothing wrong with it. I'm just saying you can't be talking the way you were talking before the beef. You can't, bro. I'm sorry. That's not how this goes. It's not designed to go this way. This is how it was before Cole was rapping. It's going to be this way after Cole finished rapping.
Starting point is 00:15:04 You can't apologize when a, rapper calls you out for battle friendly fade you can't apply you can't then look like you want to fade and then be like no i don't want to fade and then apologize and they get back to talking like you want to fade on the next album it doesn't that's just crazy bro like let's just be honest i like cold too i think cole's a phenomenal rap he's a phenomenal emce but we can't act like that's not going to look crazy if he's still talking like we didn't see what we saw on that dream fest stage was that? Two years. Ninety-eight? Two years ago. I don't even remember. Two years ago.
Starting point is 00:15:40 I don't care and I don't remember. You don't, you don't care because this is one of your favorite artists. If this was anybody else, you'd be like, he looks nuts. No, I came on this podcast and still stand by what I said where he looked nuts and that. But I don't, I don't care that much. I care about music way more than I care about that. Yeah. He's still capable of making great music. He just can't be talking a certain way no more. Not saying he's not capable, because he has plenty of records where he's not talking like that, that are great. I'm just saying it has to be a lot of those it has to that has to be the temperament the temperament can't be you know I'm I'm better than all of y'all it can't be that I'm sorry I don't believe you now I really
Starting point is 00:16:18 don't believe you okay we saw it we had a chance to see it and we were all excited like okay this is going to be fun to see the best go at it you can't give us this great album called the fall off that we've all been anticipating for years and then seeing what we saw and how you handled yourself in that moment and then get back to talk. It's, what are we doing here? It's all over the place now. I mean, with the title now, it's kind of sealed. I feel like he can't talk that way.
Starting point is 00:16:44 If you think that makes him fall off, that was the concept. I don't think that makes him fall off. Yo, I backed out of a battle. I'm still going to talk my shit and people could look at that. Like, it's crazy. Hey, I'm falling off. Y'all are crazy, man. Y'all are crazy.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Anybody that was in college when cold dropped, y'all just have a different, like, he can't do nickers. doing y'all laundry listening to him. You niggas was walking in class listening to him. No, that's a very, very fair point. And me and Deani hold that that Cole flag very high for people that were in college
Starting point is 00:17:17 when Cole came out. But that's why I have the same, the same Infinity Four. I mean, Drake came out when I was in high school comeback season. But, you know, his career really, like, flourished when I got to college. His first album was when I was in college. So far gone, I was a freshman in college. I was listening to shit, the Kendrick Lamar EP, and then right when he's rapping over fucking Roots Interludes on overly dedicated,
Starting point is 00:17:42 I was a junior in college. These three artists were all a huge part of my college experience. So yes, they get a bunch of passes for me. I'm just saying it's going to look very crazy if we get a track list and Sir Kendrick Lamar is on that track list. That's going to look very crazy to me. me. I'm not speaking for you, Peas, Josh, nobody else.
Starting point is 00:18:07 I'm speaking for me. To me, I'm going to look at that like, that's a little nuts. I'm still going to listen. They're two of the best emcees that we have. Still going to listen to the song. And if it's great, I'll say it's great. That doesn't mean that I'm not going to be like, yo, but that's kind of bogus to have a song with this dude after everything that happened. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Kendrick wouldn't look like the crazy one, Colewood. I see your side on that. Kendrick, that would just add more allure to the... If Kendrick pulls that off, Yeah, you're... You were already the boogeyman. Now you're fucking... That's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:18:38 That's all I've been trying to say, Rory, that's gonna look some type of way. You're saying that makes Cole look like Marco Rubio of like... Like, yo, you was dissing this man nonstop. Now you his right hand. Like, yo, like, what's going on, bro? Like, what's you doing? Like, what's up, man? And we know because we know rap.
Starting point is 00:19:00 A lot of this shit is just sport. It's wrestling. It's WWF. It's entertainment. We get that part of it. But it's still a thing where we can be like, I get it, but that looked kind of crazy. It looks kind of crazy. Here's my thing when it comes to music in general.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Like if we're talking about the Rossin 50 Beef, where if you, people probably don't remember, 50 went fucking crazy with the officer ship, took his baby moms out, the pimping curly shit. Like he went nuts. All of us forgot. about that because Ross made the best music of his career at that time. If that J. Cole and Kendrick song is incredible, hypothetically.
Starting point is 00:19:42 Yeah. No one's gonna care. That's the difference with music and everything else in the world. You could have been the biggest loser in a battle on earth if your music is good. Nobody gives a fuck.
Starting point is 00:19:54 I agree. So it'll look crazy if it's like kind of a subpar record, but I don't know if Patrick and Cole are, Even if it's a phenomenal record, it's going to look crazy to me. Remember, Roy, I'm only speaking for me. That's fine.
Starting point is 00:20:08 To me, I'm going to look at that crazy. Like, yo, great record. They rapping their ass off. They was getting off on that. Whatever. I'm going to say all the things. And at the end of that, you know what I'm going to say? But that's fucking crazy that he sat and did a song with Kendrick after all of that shit.
Starting point is 00:20:23 I'm here for a reflective J. Cole. I'm not mad at that. That's what you're a parent of two from what we know because, you know, Cole only gives information. Do you want to hear him go into death? I want him to reflect on everything that is happening. This is the type of Cole I would like at this time.
Starting point is 00:20:39 You're including it. You're including the battle. Everything. So you still want to hear him address that? Yeah. I know. See, I would. No, Rory?
Starting point is 00:20:47 If it's over, it's over, bro. If it's over, it's over. I don't want to hear you reflect on it. I think he's going to address it once on the album. When I say reflect it, in a 15-year career, I don't think that's as important in Cole's career. to him as you may think it is. I think the...
Starting point is 00:21:05 How? That was one of the biggest moments in rap history. I said to him, I don't think in his career, how he views it, and this is unfair to put on someone, because I don't know cold like that. Even if I did, that's unfair to put on anyone. But I don't think it's as big a deal in his mental at this point as you may think it is. And I think that's a small thing to be reflective about in an album called The Fall Off after you've had the career he's had for the 15 years. Yes.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Do I think it'll be brought up? I don't think it'll be the main focus where I'm scared on Iceman. I hope to God that's not Drake's main focus either. I don't want it to be the main focus to any of them. I want them to address it, but cool, let's move on.
Starting point is 00:21:43 I'm excited to hear Cole with a title like the falloff, meaning I'm probably getting towards the end of my musical career by choice. We're not retiring, Cole. Cole would retire himself. Yeah, I'd like a reflective album,
Starting point is 00:22:00 especially after the last few years, but the last 15 years. Cole almost ended up being the guy that was signed and never heard of again. That was very close in his career, which is absolutely fucking insane to his talent level, and obviously the cream always rises.
Starting point is 00:22:24 But you could be as talented as Jay Cole and put in the wrong system and never be heard from again. It's not your fault. Cole was coming in, S. Carter, Enterprises, not Rock Nation. It was Wally and him and S. Carter Enterprise. It could have been over.
Starting point is 00:22:38 He's talked about it. Jay's trying to put him with Stargay. I'm like, they're dope, but that's not my sound. They're trying to get them to do a single, like, it could have been over for Cole. We've seen that happen so many times. And it didn't. I'd like to hear about that.
Starting point is 00:22:51 You navigated your career, your way, business and creatively for 15 fucking years, better than 99.9% of the rapper of this generation. Yeah. I'm with you. Tell me that on the fall. I'm with you.
Starting point is 00:23:06 I'm with you on that. Tell me about that. I'm with you on that. Is the battle involved in that? Of course. I don't want to hear about that. That's my only desk. I don't want to hear.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Let's act like we did not see that happen. I think it's best that we do that. Let's just act like that didn't happen. Give us the reflective over your career, all the other things, great moments and give us all of that. I'm with you on that. I'm here for that type of rap. But don't even leave that what happened alone.
Starting point is 00:23:32 I don't. do have a prediction. I think Cole has a bop on this album. What do you mean a bop? I think Cole has like a single that's like really, really going to work. Like an outside type record. I think he has a bop. Oh, yeah. That's not. I mean, we know he's capable of it.
Starting point is 00:23:49 But some albums he hasn't focused on having a bop. I think there's one of those on here. And I think it's almost in because it's the fall off. I think it's almost in a sarcastic manner and it's going to work. Like I was fucking around and it ends up just being a bop type record. Like this was a joke. And nah, it's kind of hard. I think he has one of those.
Starting point is 00:24:10 And I think it plays like outside type thing. I don't think it's just going to be lyrics, lyrics, lyrics. I think he has some music going. I hope this album is incredible. I will be the first to come in here and say that if it's incredible. Yeah. I'm just hoping that it's that. But I just know how, you know, difficult it could be coming out of that whole.
Starting point is 00:24:32 situation for an artist for that to kind of pull at your creative energy and you know your thought process a little bit but obviously Cole is an incredible writer incredible artist so hopefully he did he navigated that well and you know give us the right energy on this album but I am looking forward to what he did with this album though and all those fucking snippets that he put out like two years ago riding the bike that we thought we were getting the fall off before the battle I'd like to hear those records he was getting to shit off on the FDR on his bike. You gonna see?

Starting point is 00:28:16 So if you've ever supported me or you're just chasing down a dream, this is right where you need to be. Listen to The Clifford Show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tapped Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs? Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Starting point is 00:28:43 Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam Jett. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because,
Starting point is 00:29:01 of crack. I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you finishing that sentence. Yes. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Starting point is 00:29:21 Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money. It's Financial Literacy Month, and the podcast, Eating While Broke, is bringing real conversations about money, growth, and building your future. This month, hear from top streamer Zoe Spencer and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum-Pierre,
Starting point is 00:29:52 as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and then seeing all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? But today now, obviously, it's like 100%. They believe everything. But at first, it was just like, you got to go get a real job. There's an economic component to communities thriving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail.
Starting point is 00:30:15 And what I mean by fell is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them. Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get. It's your podcast. I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault and Our Stars,
Starting point is 00:30:35 and now I guess also as the co-host of The Away End, a brand new world soccer podcast. I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist, and John and I have known each other since we were kids. My first World Cup was Mexico 86. I was nine years old. I watched every game and I fell in love. On our new podcast, The Away End,
Starting point is 00:30:53 we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. For us, soccer, Football is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan. I love this game. I love its history, its hope, its heartbreak, and above all, it's beauty.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important. Listen to the away end with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Joe Rodano. You might know me as that loud guy who yells out, help on the internet. Help! But there's so much more to me than that.
Starting point is 00:31:43 I'm an actor. I'm a comedian, and recently I've become quite the helper myself. And on my new podcast, hope from a hypocrite, I'll be changing lives, helping people in need with my sage advice and thoughtful solutions.
Starting point is 00:31:58 Sike, I'm a comedian. I'm not qualified to give good advice. Join me and my comedian friends as we riff, rant, recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to man. If I'm calling you, even if you're on your phone, let it ring twice. One ring is too scary. Oh, cream a chicken suit. Hey, cream.
Starting point is 00:32:18 Cream a chicken suit. This is Help from a Hypocrite, the worst advice from the dumbest people you know. Listen to Help from Hypocrite as part of the MyCultura podcast network available on the IHartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Well, we have our senior Cole correspondent from her remote location in Fayetteville, North Carolina. First of all, Baby Dee, how are you feeling? We miss you dearly. The listeners miss you dearly. How are you feeling outside of the cold news? We just want to check on your actual health, mental health. Then we can get to what has cured you, which is Jermaine Cole announcing an album. But how are you feeling? I literally had nothing to live for and then doing something for like this is amazing you know
Starting point is 00:33:11 um healing wise I'm doing I'm doing better I'm doing a lot a lot better I'm looking forward to going coming back to work um you always be like I don't want to go to work and then like when you can't it's like damn like I would like to leave my house you know so how's the house bed rest been picked up any new hobbies uh you know I didn't know that there were so many seasons of long on order. SvU. Like there's so many seasons. That show first Ed when you were three years old.
Starting point is 00:33:41 It is airing tomorrow. I was like, damn. Like, I was like, I can't binge this from the beginning. I'm going to start at like season 20. But I've been getting like,
Starting point is 00:33:49 I've been getting a lot of editing done, prayer done. Like, but I'm going to start crazy in this house. I really am. You've been getting prayer done. It's hilarious. How do you get prayer done?
Starting point is 00:33:59 I've been getting prayer done. You mean you just been praying? Like, how do you get prayer? you start a prayer and you go back to it later like what do you mean you have to table that prayer? You know when you be like because like a lot of my prayers you just in the moment prayers I'm like damn I need to do like some like some prayer like I've been needing some shit I've been needed to pray for for a couple years but like I didn't get to oh you finally got to oh okay yeah
Starting point is 00:34:20 you know you don't want to ask God for too much but now I'm like getting to the point where it's like I can't keep praying these same prayers like I got to expand a little did you pray for this uh this album to drop no because you know so you should have pray for you. You've got it. You're afraid for times like this. I should have. But, you know, I feel like God, when I was getting to the point where I was, you know, looking for a reason to get out of bed, God said, here go one. So here we are. I noticed that you had posted your- I don't know. Y'all ordered your vinyl. I noticed you purchased your, your vinyl and posted
Starting point is 00:34:53 the confirmation within, I don't know, maybe three minutes of the announcement. Yes, I did. How much was it with shipping and handling? Somewhere around $70. Oh, getting me. So that's like two meals I can't eat this month, but it's fine. I don't care. Mm. Two six, you'll eat again on February 6th.
Starting point is 00:35:12 You'll eat. Yeah. I'll eat again February 6th. Drink again. That's going to be my first drink. That's also when I get off official, official bed rest. Mm-hmm. So February 6 is your official bed rest day release?
Starting point is 00:35:25 When I, when I, because I can't, I can't do any heavy lifting. I can't do any working out and I can't stick anything in my vagina until February 6th. So I'll be back to work before then, but like the important stuff I can't do. P. Just asked if you needed like any furniture move plus that last thing. Plus that last thing is hilarious. Plus that last thing on your list like he said he said he's a veil. He checked his avails.
Starting point is 00:35:54 He checked his avails. He's free. Stop. I can't laugh. Stop for real. He checked his avails. calendar I was slammed he said I'm wide open I'm wide open oh my god
Starting point is 00:36:08 that's what he was suggesting yeah um all right where's your head at with what's gonna be on this this album how do you feel about the snippet and how do you feel as one of the most relatable rappers is she said I like it and charged us $70 for the bottom I remember when it was a dollar in the dream now it's $70 and shipping and handling you know I'm just trying to stirs you up to fuck with you
Starting point is 00:36:32 The vinyl was 40-something after shipping, immediate shipping and all of that stuff. I thought Joe Biden got rid of that shit. All them getting charges? No. Okay. That's for Ticketmaster. What's up? What y'all thought of a snippet?
Starting point is 00:36:46 Y'all know I thought it was wonderful. I thought it was a great snippet. I think it's a classic already. I think it's five mics. Like, what you niggas? Y'all calling me. Y'all know what I got to say? What y'all got to say?
Starting point is 00:37:00 I'm like actually really excited. It's hard to get me like really excited for a rap album these days. Yes, I'm very, very much excited for this entire thing. I'm just being... Me too, baby, Dee.
Starting point is 00:37:13 I just have this cloud of the internet rap beef over me that's trying to like rain on my parade of actually being excited for somebody that's really good at rapping and making music. I can't wait to do to Jamie
Starting point is 00:37:25 when you're doing this and I'm looking up when this is hard because you know I don't want to I don't want to like this shit. Fuck that. I don't want to like it. I'm just joking.
Starting point is 00:37:32 But no, I think it's going to be a good album. My prediction, Demaris, I do think Cole has a little bop on this one. I feel like he's kind of, the last two albums, I felt like he's, he hasn't focused on that, which I'm fine with, because I'm usually not somebody that wants the bops from these types of rappers. I think there's something on there that's going to play outside. Like, I think you and I will be on Steinway this summer listening to something off the falloff. I don't think he's just giving us this whole rap-ty-wrap reflection. I think it's going to be there, and I want that.
Starting point is 00:38:03 I do think he has a joint on here that's going to play outside. I have a J-Cole bop, like a J-Cole bop in a very long time, so I would appreciate that. I mean, don't save her. Was that the last, last, bop? I'm saying bop. Solo, because he's been on bops on that album, but that might. That plays in the Huka Lounge like right now. Yeah, yeah, probably.
Starting point is 00:38:28 I think we're getting a new one. I think he was testing the waters with his sexy drill. I heard it's grippy. I think he was just working on some shit. I think that was his seven-minute drill for outside records. I think we're getting one of those from Coles. You think he could have like a first-person shooter vibe, but call it first-person apology?
Starting point is 00:38:46 Oh, that wasn't a good joke. Like. Well, hopefully the album is better than that joke, baby, Dee. It will be. Hopefully. Do you have any feature predictions? I don't have any feature predictions Maybe JID
Starting point is 00:39:04 I don't have any feature predictions I'm praying for a 21 Sabbaths feature As I say all the time Not gonna happen Definitely not gonna happen Okay He chose to say I can still pray for it
Starting point is 00:39:18 The fuck No no you got more prayers to get done So yeah that's another one you have to You know what I'm saying I'm saying like that one on my list I just feel I mean as much as Like I love all Return of the Dreamers.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Like, I kind of just want the non-Dreamville Coal Project. Kind of just want Cole. And we already have two amazing 21 Savage Records with Cole. I don't know if I want more of the same. Like, I don't want a rinse and repeat of trying to redo classics.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Like, I don't want another one. But, I mean, I hear you. And I don't know if I want Cole trying to be what he's been before, which has been great. Let me work with the younger artists. I don't know if I want that. either. I think I kind of just want a... Jay Cole.
Starting point is 00:40:02 Oh, okay. You want platinum, no features. Yeah. I thought we were debating about the Kendrick thing because I've said on this pod a bunch of times that I thought there was Kendrick features. As the minutes pass, I'm leaning on a just Jay Cole no features album. I don't think that's going to happen. I think there's going to be a feature or three. What you think about Freddie Gibbs feature? That's not going to happen.
Starting point is 00:40:25 you'll get a 21 Savage people before that I'm just saying what y'all think of Gibbs has been allegedly dissing him for the last three years I think he I think he has a sub at Freddie
Starting point is 00:40:38 that is debatable like oh he's not told he's not told about Freddie but he was talking about Freddie what's up man I'm just here to say that it ain't no room it ain't no room for subs
Starting point is 00:40:51 he's Jesse Smalley when it comes to subs there's no room for it well that was the only true thing in his story There was a we both up. No, I don't want no subs.
Starting point is 00:41:02 No subs. Just give us great music, great bars, no subs. Hold the sub. Hold all subs. Great, great songs,
Starting point is 00:41:12 great rapping, great production. We happy. Once you start subbing and it's like, no, no, no, don't do that.
Starting point is 00:41:22 Okay. Stay away from that. Stay away from that. Just give us to, give us great bars. Yeah, He doesn't have to, there's no, there's no need for any of that. Everybody's been waiting for this.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Everybody just wants to hear Colby Cole. And when you're exceptional at rapping without the gimmicks and the fake mystery and whatever the hells other people shit got going on, when you're just amazing at rapping and putting words together, we just need the music. That's all. I'm going to out our good friend, Reason. I have a group chat with Reason and some other people. And he put the Instagram trailer in there and put I in all caps, A-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H. and I said, this is gay.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Did he scream? Is that a man screaming? Screaming via text? Don't scream on my text because Jay Cole announced the album, bro. And you are artists. Like, you are a rapper yourself. You can't scream because Jay Cole announced the album. He's a fan of Cole.
Starting point is 00:42:17 You can be a fan. I'm not saying you can't be. You can't scream, man. He has a good relationship with Cole. It says, man. Imagine if, see, nah, don't nod. Don't do that because. I would also call you gay if the,
Starting point is 00:42:27 Iceman shit came out and you went, ah! Exactly. That's all I'm asking. Just keep the same energy for everybody. That's crazy to scream when another man announces an album drop. That's crazy. But if it's cold, but if it's call, you can scream. I don't get what fuck who it is.
Starting point is 00:42:41 You cannot scream. Don't get more started because he claims we've been moving the goalposts for gold. That do. And it's okay. It's okay. We understand that it's all right. Listen, I'm looking forward to this album just like everybody else. Like, I want to hear it.
Starting point is 00:42:55 I want to hear what he did. I couldn't pick a better week to be gone from work. Every time I log on to the internet, it's a clip of y'all somewhere. I'm like, I'm so happy that my body decided to fail me this month. You think it's been getting clipped up for the past week. Really? For what? Yeah, fill us in.
Starting point is 00:43:14 Full predictions. Andre 3000 is overrated. All types of shit you've been going on and I've been gone. Oh, okay. Two for two. Yeah. Yeah. Sounds like we're potting.
Starting point is 00:43:24 Two for two. What have you learned about your friend group inner circle since you've been on bed rest? Oh my God. Just say you want praise being a good friend. Yo, you wanted to praise you being a good friend. Yeah. I swear to God, that did not even enter my mind. It was more so the subs I've seen you've been throwing out.
Starting point is 00:43:42 I'm all these about subs. Yeah. I actually think I could have been a better friend. I think I've been kind of cheating. No, you were a very good friend. You were very attentive. You were attentive to a fault. I don't care about that.
Starting point is 00:43:55 No, tell me about the people you were subbing. Ah, it's cool. It's, everything is copaesthetic. It's cool. I seen who was there and who motherfucking wasn't. I think, I synced it. Okay. That's true.
Starting point is 00:44:10 You got to go through a fire to know it's hot, right? Yeah, nah. Nah, that's cool. Shit, lonely over here. It's been lonely, yo, but it's like, I'm cool. It's not, yo, shit. Yo, baby, I don't know who you think you're talking to or what you think you're getting over.
Starting point is 00:44:25 right now. If you think that I think that it's been lonely over there, like cut this shit. Don't get it. Don't get it. I can't even pull up. I will unplug this fucking Zoom and you will be out of the Ethernet in two seconds. Like, get the fuck out of his line. Shout out to my, shout out to my friends that have that
Starting point is 00:44:40 reached out that were there. And not just, you know, shit from like me being rushed into emergency surgery. As far as this shit, I was already going through a shit with my mom and people knew when they reach out. So like, you know what I'm saying? So like from that to that, it's like, Oh, I see what 2026 by the B, but to everybody, I did have a huge village of people who did hold shit down.
Starting point is 00:45:02 But I was, I seen, I called you, I facetomed you and texted you, didn't get a response. I didn't get shit. I was off oxy. I was off oxy when you called me. I was in a lot of pain. I was off oxy. But I'm saying, but you're up now, though. I went to surgery, got out to hospital, came home, shit, kicked my feet up, got unconscipated.
Starting point is 00:45:21 You called me three days later. Well, yeah, I was giving you time to, you know, get you. feet up under you and just and then we went on so let me FaceTime baby then check on FaceTime no response text you no response I'm like all right now you're sitting there hugging a Jay Cole vinyl all right cool say no more you took a pass I see what 2020 I'm glad you said it I see what 2026 is these are comparable situations this is revelations right here wait till I have my surgery mm-hmm so I know you're getting I know you're getting much better but you could tell the doctors you're not right and still keep all those prescriptions correct

Starting point is 00:46:03 I know a guy I know a guy I don't know how people Take them shit To like that I don't like those drugs But we can sell them I got low dose
Starting point is 00:46:11 They gave me like a Like you know Just enough to put me to sleep That's all the dope has need Yeah Nah Yaga We gotta get some of that

Starting point is 00:46:27 There's no Fent. No, we're in this office. No, it is not. That shit went crazy. That shit was crazy. No, let them raid the office so we can sue Mondami and get some money. I don't want none of that. No, I do want to try Fent one day.
Starting point is 00:46:41 But with that, who says that? Like, just one day I want to try it. Okay. Not to like get on it, but I got to see with the whole. You want to get that shit that goes straight into your veins. Whatever they're putting in the Coke, you don't want that. You want this shit that goes straight into. of veins, that shit was great.
Starting point is 00:46:56 My godfather, who I told you all had stage four cancer, never did any drugs, got addicted for fentanyl in one week immediately. It was that good. And then I was on FaceTime with Demaris yesterday, two days ago. And she was just telling me how good the fent was. It's a drug I got to try. Yeah, spoken like a true white boy. Y'all miss me.
Starting point is 00:47:17 Like, damn, I know the office. No, not really. It's been mad. We've been damn mad activities in here. It's shit been lit in here. Like, we really not. Like, it's cool. You got another surgery.

That bar's crazy. You know how many times Rory played that snippet or the intro? You know how many times you played that? I thought it was the whole song.
Starting point is 00:48:53 I didn't know. I didn't even know you could loop like a tweet. Like, I didn't even know that. Poor thing, wanted the war thing. Mm. He came with more pain. Mm. How he'd do that like that and put some more.
Starting point is 00:49:05 So, part, by this. Oh, poor pain and the war gain. See? Head loss go to road gain. I don't know how he did that. It's happened when it would be dry. Yeah, yeah. The hate don't work.

Starting point is 00:50:09 I love Jake. He stole that day from Drake. Drake can't even do the six no more. Listen, listen, listen. I agree. The six was taken by Cole was over. Part, part six was taken. Everything's been taken.
Starting point is 00:50:18 There's no sixes left for Drake. It's a beautiful day. Well, baby, Dee, it was good to see your face. Good to hear your voice. Hopefully you're healing up. You know what I'm saying? Get your hibiscus tea and all of that in you. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:50:30 Get yourself together. together and we're looking forward to having you back in the studio sooner than later. Hopefully before, hopefully before for 26, 26, we'll have you back. I got to come decorate the office shit like that. Decorate. That's the real Valentine's Day. That's the real Valentine's Day. Two-six?
Starting point is 00:50:48 That's the new Valentine's Day? February 6 is the new Valentine's Day. All right. All right. I respect. All right. That's the new thing. You didn't even know that was a new Valentine's Day.
Starting point is 00:51:00 What is that? No, Aquarius? Which which day is two six? I don't know. Where's that? Astrology. With the stars. Aquarius.
Starting point is 00:51:09 Aquarius. You don't even think about that. I didn't. Scorpion, like. Yo, it's everywhere. Equamini. Three stacks. It's all tied together.
Starting point is 00:51:21 I just, if you have sex during Aquarius season, you give birth to Scorpio's. That's all I'm saying. Yo, baby, Dee, it's been good talking to you. You can't have anything into your vagina. It's been great seeing you. Great talking to you, baby, Dee. We love you. We see you soon.
Starting point is 00:51:36 Get better. Be safe. Be blessed. And heal up soon. Peace. Bye. While we've been talking about Cole announcing the falloff, the snippet, he put out a video while we were recording.
Starting point is 00:51:49 We came right back in. And this is first reaction, which I always think is kind of unfair. But that's the times we're in. We give first reactions. I love the Nas. rewind shit that he's on. And I kind of, I'm going to make this about me like I usually do. I want my flowers, man.
Starting point is 00:52:09 30 minutes ago, I said, I just want Koda reflects from the last 15 years of a career that he's had. And the whole fucking video treatment and song is that. That is beautiful. That was great. And I like the Nause rewind angle that he took. We're literally reversing from the fall off to the first project. I don't think that song is going to be on the album, by the way.
Starting point is 00:52:32 I think this is just really a cool way to do the rollout. I don't think this is on the falloff. I just think that's a really cool verse in the marketing of the falloff. Let me tell you from the fall off back to where I started. Now the track at the end of that. I don't think that's on the fall off either. You see, all right, well. I think he has a lot of so much music like we were saying before.
Starting point is 00:53:00 I just don't. There's 20 versions of this album. I think he's going to put a lot of that music. in the rollout. Same way he did when he was riding on the FDR. I just don't like you to unibrow Unabama. No, you're not. You're the unibrow apologizer.
Starting point is 00:53:14 Okay. Say that. Did you listen to anything that he said in there? Yeah, no. That's balls off. Yeah. Yeah. I like the song. It's cool. Like the treatment, like the video either. Maybe I connected a bit more in the middle of that of having a child and thinking about your career and maybe feel like you're ignoring everything.
Starting point is 00:53:33 That's fine. That's all you took from this was He Can't Talk Greasy? That was such a beautiful display of rapping. Right, I said that. But I said the end of that, that song that he went into, I don't like that. You're the unibrow, Unibombs.
Starting point is 00:53:46 Sound like you're about to get into a whole lot of that. We only got a snippet of whatever song that is. But all we heard was the unibrile, Unabom, Equip with Armour. Again. I don't, where we're going with that? What do you think the next bar is? 20 versions of this album. When we said before, because we came right back in,
Starting point is 00:54:03 Well, it says disc two, track two. So is this a double disc? Is it, is it? Too sick, two discs? You said that the first time we thought it was nasty. You said it again. I didn't know we were recording at the time. Were we recording when I said that?
Starting point is 00:54:21 Yeah, I don't, I don't know. I mean, listen, he's rapping. I like the, I like the video. The video's cool. Like you said, from a verse, going to the beginning of his career, of his, of his birth, his life. and anyone that's clipping this up right now, we are literally reacting to this in real fucking time. I don't want to hear anything after you guys dissect
Starting point is 00:54:41 what the clock time meant six hours from now and be like, yo, Roy and Mala retarded. Like, duh, we are reacting to this in real time. Right now what's happening. Okay, so you're saying it says two, this two track two. Okay, so never mind. I take it back.
Starting point is 00:54:59 This will probably be on the album. And it is a double disc. Big risk I like the fucking confidence, Cole Listen, this is a big I want to like it But I cannot Name a good double disc
Starting point is 00:55:15 Since life after death I cannot listen to Jay Cole Say he's the unibrow Unabama I fucking like I can't hear that I can't hear that I don't believe you
Starting point is 00:55:25 Disc 2 I don't believe you Name a double disc since life after death That has been a classic Ah Everybody cares about that? I don't count that. Well, yes, that is a classic.
Starting point is 00:55:37 Listen, I like the video, like the song, like the bars. Streets Disciple, I like. Blueprint 2, I like. Those are not classics when they try to do the double-disc thing. Scorpion, I like. I don't deem it a classic, but I like it. Name the last classic. I'm with Pige.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Love Below Speaker Box. I just don't really put it in the category that we're talking about. That's not really a double disc. It's not really a double disc and one is two artists. Yeah. It's, yeah, it's not a double disc to me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:13 It was good though. Cole, yo, no, you might need to chill for a second. Cole got a different level of confidence if he's doing a double disc for fall off. He's been working on this. Rory, stop. But you just said he had to redo everything. Rory, stop, stop.
Starting point is 00:56:26 He's been working on it for so long or he hasn't. He's been working on this for how long? We're not surprised that he has 27, songs that he could put together. I think Cole has a 150 songs. Exactly. So it's not, I like it though.
Starting point is 00:56:38 Give us as much rap as you want to give. I think Cole would have it. For blueprint, but he made it down to fucking well. I want to hear it. I'm not mad at it, but okay, it's a double disc.
Starting point is 00:56:47 We wasn't, I don't think none of us was anticipating that, but okay, dope. I'm just saying that song that it was going to. I like that beat. The beat is hard and all of that. He went nuts on that.
Starting point is 00:56:57 I just, no, what songs I'm about? This one. The video? You know, I like this. Good,
Starting point is 00:57:01 good balls in there. I like the whole introspective thing. I know Felton does creative direction for Dreamville. Felton, you guys smoke this visual. This visual was incredible. Do it looks good. Sounds good. He rapping, man.
Starting point is 00:57:14 That's somebody that's in shape. He's been in shape. We're just why we was disappointed in what he did. We wanted that. The unibrow unibomber. But we're coming back in as I was about to leave the studio to get on the train to go home. I didn't know he was in this. type of shape and that we were getting a double disc.
Starting point is 00:57:38 Like if we go back... Which shape you thought he was in? Which shape you thought? Or is it because he didn't want to battle? You didn't think he was in shape? Why do you think he was in shape? The confidence of putting this out, saying it's a double disc, then saying I'm the unibrow, Unabomber.
Starting point is 00:57:55 Yeah, this is somebody with confidence that doesn't care about what you have been saying for the first half of this episode. He ain't got to care about what I've been saying. I'm speaking facts, though. I bet you your favorite MC agree with me. What that got to do anything? My favorite MC's opinion doesn't dictate mine. It doesn't dictate mine either.
Starting point is 00:58:12 I'm just saying your favorite emcee agrees with me. You can't talk like that after we saw what you did, bro. My favorite MC sign this guy. You know how much harder? You know how much harder that bar would hit if he stayed in that battle and did what we thought he would do? You know how much the unibrow, unabomberma, how much that would be like, whoo! He in his back.
Starting point is 00:58:33 Now it's just like, I don't believe it. It sounds good. But I don't, it's no, it's nothing, it's like empty calories. Like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's not listen to the first four minutes. Why you keep talking about the song? Because that's what matters. That's what we were saying in the first.
Starting point is 00:58:46 No, it's another song. He went into another song. I know, but why are we focused on another snippet? I'm talking about the beautiful masterclass of rapping that you just did. I just said, I like that. I just said the line, unibrow, you know, blah. So let's skip over liking how amazing that record was of reflecting the last 15 years. career and let's go to a fucking
Starting point is 00:59:07 three bars that they not even make the album. Who skipped over it? We literally went right to the end credits over. No, we did not. We just spoke about the video. You just shouted out, Felton. We just did know, what are you talking about? We just said it was dope. I said it. I liked the video. I like the song. Like the bars.
Starting point is 00:59:24 What do you like about it? I like the whole introspective going from the end of it. I liked all of that. Okay. We just said that. What are you talking about? So let's move on. I have a full conversation about two bars about him. That's not what I'm. That's not what I I said. I just said that last song he went into, that beat is hard. And how he went into it, it sounds like he about to get into that bag of none of y'all can fuck with me. And I'm just saying, I don't believe you. I don't want to hear that. The first song, the introspective, go from,
Starting point is 00:59:50 you know, my death to when I was born and all that. Fire. The visual, fire. Okay, we like that. But you can't end that with unibrow, unibor, equip with armor. What armor you was equipped with? Who did you bomb on? Okay. Again, guys, this is all in real time. That's what I'm saying. You're not a Cole fan. Fifteen years ago, Cole put out a song on the Any Given Sunday mixtape,
Starting point is 01:00:15 which is a classic called Unabomber. So I'm not a Cole fan? You're talking about. Pea's just saying I can't play it. What are you talking about? I'm not sure that he is suggesting in that bar after explaining his entire career and then it goes to the end credits.
Starting point is 01:00:32 in reverse Unabonor being on any given Sunday, which is an early mixtape for Cole, that he is suggesting that he is going to be the Unabomber on all the rappers. I think it's tied into the Unabomber song that's on any given Sunday mixed day. Yes, that's what we're doing, Roar. I'm just saying, I don't like the beat is hard.
Starting point is 01:00:56 Unibrow, Unabomber, Equipal, Equipment, Armour, where is it going after that? That's what I didn't. Did I not say that piece? Did I not say, where are we going after? She said you don't want to hear that type of talk from, I'm saying, I think it has to do with a song that is 15 years old. Okay, cool. I don't think he's about to say he's about to bomb on rappers.
Starting point is 01:01:11 You might be right, but you also might be wrong. Speak to that. Speak to how you might be wrong. 26 double disc. How could I be wrong? We don't see it. Good video, though. Definitely like the video.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Beautiful video. Visual is dope. I'm excited, man. I feel like a kid again. I miss hip hop. Hip hop used to be fun. It still is. I'm going to listen on this.
Starting point is 01:01:35 I'm going to listen to this 30 times tonight. I can't wait. I actually might neglect my child tonight. And be like, nah, you know. Actually, the first time I actually felt like I was neglecting my child
Starting point is 01:01:51 was when might delete later dropped. I was sitting in a Mars playroom. Remember Kia getting really mad at me like, what's wrong with you right? I said, stop, don't speak to me. Get this fucking kid away from me.
Starting point is 01:02:03 You need complete silence. Yeah, when Mike Delete later dropped Seven minute drill Yeah, that was the height of life Now I need to reflect on what I did wrong I'm looking forward to it They don't even understand the NAAs Why would you hang up on me?
Starting point is 01:02:34 Yo They don't even understand the Nause rewind angle That Cole took I can't be in the studio with these novices man This shit is fucking crazy to me They didn't get that he was storytelling back. They had never listen to Stillmatic. They don't know what Nas does.
Starting point is 01:02:52 They don't know what Cole does. He literally said he was going to rock. He didn't let Nas down. This is crazy. They don't know. I never expected certain niggas to get it. You feel me? I never expected that.
Starting point is 01:03:03 Like, y'all don't even know. Yo, a double disc? I saw that. I saw that. You might, we rock. So did you hear the snippet that came afterwards? I fear we might be getting a bop. I fear you might be right.
Starting point is 01:03:22 But I don't think, I think that was in reference to the Unabomber's song that was on any given Sunday mixtape because we're bringing it back in rewind with Cole. See, I'm too much of a Cole fan for y'all. I can't. Y'all don't even understand this shit. Yeah, I'm saying, y'all even understand this shit.
Starting point is 01:03:38 Mall is so mad right now. I'm not mad at all. I feel we might actually be getting a bob. I'm with you. there's one line on here that I'm to fight with Mall about and I just don't feel like I think I'm gonna take more time off work. Like I'm about to cut my stitch open
Starting point is 01:03:52 because I don't really feel like I'm in there. We're reacting off one watch. What law was it? I don't, I'm my listen number three. Y'all hung up. I'm like, why hang up on me? No, you banged on me, fool. Oh, that's Peach said.
Starting point is 01:04:05 What line is you talking about? Which line? I don't feel like, I didn't have to sound like arguing? Like, I don't feel like arguing. Who's argument? Where he said, where he said, my purpose. It's as clear as to Merck, whoever dead flirting with death.
Starting point is 01:04:19 I don't know. That's alive from what you hear now was to work. That line, I don't feel like. It was in rewind when he felt that way. When he felt that way. Now he doesn't feel that way. Because he's not the gun based off Port Antonio. See, I'm not cold fans.
Starting point is 01:04:35 You can't be mad at the line more. He's saying at that time he felt that way he doesn't feel that way. I still haven't said anything about this line. Still, I've never said anything about this. That's the bit of this whole thing. I didn't say anything. Well. I don't even like,
Starting point is 01:04:47 niggas laughing. Like, what's funny? I'm with you. I don't even, I don't find shit funny for real. Y'all still filming? Well, yeah,
Starting point is 01:04:55 the fucking video dropped. I was about to leave and... Oh, yeah. Oh, all right. You know what? I take back a lot of stuff we said at the first half this episode. 50 bucks for a double disc vinyl.
Starting point is 01:05:08 That's a steal. My apologies. Go, $50 for $2. I don't, I ain't mad at that. That's a reasonable ass price. I was not expected anything to drop except for the night before. I was not expecting like no little snippets. Like, no, nothing.
Starting point is 01:05:27 I was not expected none of that. So I am very happy that we got that. Again, we were reacting in real time. I thought we were going to get a bunch of stuff from Cole because he's been working on this for so long and stuff isn't making the album that we're going to get a lot of Lucy's. I even said when this video dropped, I said, this isn't making the album.
Starting point is 01:05:41 Then I saw that the caption was, track three, just two. I think we're going to get a lot of music before. Why did you feel like that wasn't a big an album? Because I thought it was more marketing. Because I think he has so much music that he was just trying to get some of the good music off that didn't make sense for the album. And that this would have been one of those.
Starting point is 01:05:59 But shit, I think we're going to get at least two more records before February 6th. Oh, breathe again. Word. All right, I'm going to go listen to a couple more time, Joe. Stay up. We love you, Tamara. Keep me updated because I really have not. I'm so out of the internet.
Starting point is 01:06:22 Like, I was sitting there scrolling on my phone. I didn't even know that that happened. So, yeah, keep me updated. You just tweeted 20 minutes ago. Two hours ago, and when I tweet, I don't scroll my timeline, I just tweet. Like, but thanks for letting me know you are watching me, you feel me? Yeah, I opened my phone. You mean opening the app?
Starting point is 01:06:40 Oh, yeah, I opened my app and you was tweeting. You're like, what you here? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. But y'all, you know what I'm saying? Are you back on Twitter? You back on Twitter?
Starting point is 01:06:49 Yeah, I've been back. You just saw me tweet, right? I forgot you was going. So, ain't that what you said? So I was thinking about this. Now that my Twitter is gone, I was thinking about starting an account called this was Rory. Yeah. And then they're going to respond to you with this was racist.
Starting point is 01:07:09 And then they're like, I don't know, I don't know, how. whatever you do they go be on your ass you don't think this was Roy no no no they're going to throw them off nah they're going to throw them off they're going to be right back on your ass that's what they're going to be doing
Starting point is 01:07:26 well this is Roy's gone so you know let's try to do past tense all right well yeah Peach I apologize I don't even know how we're going to do this
