Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. On paper, the three hosts of the Nick Dick and Poll show are geniuses. We can explain how AI works, data centers, but there are certain things that we don't necessarily understand. Better version of Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time.
Starting point is 00:00:23 I actually thought it was. I got that wrong. But hey, no one's perfect. We're pretty close, though. Listen to the Nick Dick and Poll show on the iPod. I heart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's Financial Literacy Month, and the podcast, Eating While Broke, is bringing real conversations about money, growth, and building your future.
Starting point is 00:00:43 This month, hear from top streamer, Zoe Spencer, and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. There's an economic component to communities thriving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they failed. Starting point is 00:01:15 Co-hosted the podcast The Away End with my old friend Daniel. On our podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. And I'm Conky, his best friend and business manager. And we've got a new show called The 1021 Podcast. I'm taking you behind the scenes on how I became one of Twitch's most popular streamers.
Starting point is 00:01:55 We also love sports. And with the World Cup right around the corner, we'll be breaking down the biggest story. 40 lines ahead of the big tournament here in the USA. Listen to the 1021 podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The volume. Welcome back. Oh, I feel so refreshed, Rory.
Starting point is 00:02:26 I mean, I just saw you a few hours ago. I know, but I went home. I got, you know, worked out, got some rest. Nice. You know what I mean? Like. Okay. Feel good, man.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Well, chest? Legs. A little cardio. Okay. You know what I mean? A little cardio and got a little cardio session late night. Nice. Listen to some music.
Starting point is 00:02:44 Okay. Had the gym to myself. You know you got the gym to yourself. It's like, you know what I mean? I kind of noticed that this year was different at the new year. Usually the gyms are like completely packed. That's over. It kind of was empty.
Starting point is 00:02:56 People don't. At least on my end, yeah. I will say this stuff. I do like to see that, well, I've noticed that more people are more health conscious these days. Like even people I never thought would care about health and working out. they're trying to get in there a little bit. Or we're just getting older and realizing that, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:13 it hurts to get out of bed sometimes. It's like, I should probably start checking these types of things. Got a stretch in the mornings, man. You get that one move, you move too fast in the morning when you didn't stretch, you start thinking, you paralyzed, like you just had a stroke or something. So Amara jumped on my lower back the other day, and I'm cooked.
Starting point is 00:03:29 You almost called out. Didn't make you, no? Literally could not sleep last night type thing. Like, every move I'm saying, I'm fucking back. I've been doing some more school tours. with her. And I thought it was like awkward at holidays trying to explain what your job is.
Starting point is 00:03:45 But what a parent coordinator after a tour? Like, so what do you guys do for a living? Podcast. Podcast. Podcast. You say that. A podcast. It's almost like saying you're a drug dealing with.
Starting point is 00:03:58 It's like almost the same thing. It's like almost embarrassing. Like you've got to kind of whisper it. Yeah. They've given podcasts. It's such a nasty rep. 35 working on this mixtape. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:08 It's the same thing. I thought 10 years ago was going to hit. But, you know, it's still, I got this t-shirt line I'm working on. Still swinging. Still swinging. But yeah, it's an awkward thing to say. Yeah. As much as this is like, you know, a very respected career now, it's still weird to say to people that are like educators.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Yeah. It's been very lucrative. For sure. Yeah. No, it's been fine. I mean, I'm still going to Mondami's public schools, though. Yeah. Everything's free now.
Starting point is 00:04:36 As of yesterday. 3K. Pre-K. Good. with that. I saw that there. But then I still got my bill in the mail. It's funny how that works, right? Like, I thought it was free. No, nothing is free. After they lost tomorrow's lunch yesterday.
Starting point is 00:04:46 I saw that um, Ubers are now accepting cash. Yeah, I saw that as well. I don't know if that's a good idea. Why do you say that? Because I used to take cabs in the early 90s. Okay, all right, fair enough. They're 2000s as well. Listen, the guy that's on Mom Donnie's team,
Starting point is 00:05:04 my son, we love him. Do we know what he went to jail for? Rob the cab drop. he robbed a cab driver. Mice, I love you. You know you, my guy, but I'm just saying. We don't know if he did. Allegedly the case over. Like, we know what he was to jail for?
Starting point is 00:05:18 Maybe he didn't get a fair shake. I didn't keep up with the trial. I'm just saying Uber's accepting cash. I don't know if we want to go back to that. I don't know, Rory. I'm just some still. Yeah. I think on paper list is, you know, there's a good thing for all, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:32 cab drivers or Uber, Uber driver. Yeah, I'm curious why they would do this. Well, they're saying that, yes, Uber accepts cash. in many markets, allowing verified riders to pay drivers directly, though drivers can opt out. So meaning the driver would have to say that he does accept cash. And cash rides are often restricted to daytime hours, yeah, because nobody ever gets, nobody ever gets robbed in a daytime. Well, who's verified on Uber?
Starting point is 00:05:56 From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. you can pay with cash. 10.01, no more cash, worry. Due to safety concerns with the driver collecting the fare from the rider at the trip's end, this feature expands across, excuse me, this feature expands access. for unbanked users but creates new challenges for drivers who handle the cash and must input the exact amount in the app. Now, I've taken Uber's before where got in an Uber and, you know, a lot of the drivers they'll say, how much are they charge you for this ride?
Starting point is 00:06:23 And I'll say, whatever it is. It's 70 bucks, right? He's like, I'm only making $30 off of this. Yeah. Right? He's like, yo, just give me the 30. Like, drivers have done that to me. I've done that.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Give me the $30. Like, or just give me like $40. You know what I mean? Like, and we'll just, like, instead of you paying 70, just give me 40. And I'm like, all right, cool. I paid a driver for the night. Like, if we got shit to do. I've done that a lot, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:45 And call, we're glad to, be like, what do you usually make for the night that they take? And you just come up with a price that they make more money and you don't have to pay as much. Especially if it's a driver. I said, you know, the good drivers where they're like, you know, they know how to drive. Yeah. They have many vacuums. They don't even really use the. They have the GPS on, but they don't really use it.
Starting point is 00:07:02 They know the city, like the back of their palm. They're like, I don't go this way, cut down this block. so we don't have to go back those type of drivers and then like it's date night like you're going on a date I'm like yo turn your app off man
Starting point is 00:07:14 I got you for the night man I'm gonna need you for about four hours man you end up paying less if you're moving around a lot 100% 100% I just don't know how safe it is for drivers to have cash on them anymore but you know I mean maybe the country's safer now I don't know if you're an Uber driver
Starting point is 00:07:27 listening to this podcast in your Uber now if somebody says yo you got changed for a hundred just be just be a little scared you just drop to the nearest pre-stress That's all right. Anytime somebody, you got changed for 100? Yeah, nah. No, no, don't.
Starting point is 00:07:40 I actually do not have changed for 100, sir. But, I mean, I doubt that there's going to be like that many cash transactions that that would be a lucrative robbery. Yeah. To even do that. Like, it's not like the cab days. I noticed that ever since these rideshare apps announced that they were given female drivers the option to pick up males or not.
Starting point is 00:08:00 I've only maybe gotten one female driver since. Okay. So I don't know if it went to affecting, like, all of the, you know, You know, female drivers just switching it to just female passengers only. I don't know if they did that or not. But there has definitely been, like, I've noticed it. Like, damn, like, women don't want to pick me up, no one when I call them. I mean, you must be furious then because you don't think one women should drive
Starting point is 00:08:20 to be able to handle cash or money or responsibilities. No, your money, you come up short if they handle your money. You let a woman handle your money and your cash. You're going to come up short. What you handed her early that day is not what you're going to get back at the end of the night. You'll be in your own Uber getting called broke. That's a fact. All right, Brokey.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Yeah. Listen. I hired you. Exactly. We are back sponsored by Boost Mobile Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data, data, data, depending on where you're from, the New England area. It's what, data, right? Or data.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Data. Data. Data, data. Ask Don Brady. Listen, it's unlimited. Just know that. Whatever it is. And, I mean, clearly we're powered by Boost and didn't lose power.
Starting point is 00:09:00 No. Yesterday, everyone that had Verizon was off the grid. Not us. We were in here working. We never lost power. No, never. We still bang it. I saw that Verizon put out a statement to say that they failed us all and they
Starting point is 00:09:14 apologized and you can go and collect a $20 credit if you'd like. They won't just want to pay for it to everyone's bill. You have to go through a website and fucking collect your $20. Was it just Verizon or? Yeah. Okay. Well, I have boost, of course. And mine didn't go out.
Starting point is 00:09:29 And I heard AT&T didn't go out. I think it was just a Verizon thing. Yeah. In the tri-state. But that's kind of scary. That's like that Obama. produce movie where like all the electricity starts going out, Tesla start doing fucking backflips. Yeah, it's coming.
Starting point is 00:09:43 She was testing something yesterday. Michelle was trying to tell us. Yeah, what they was testing yesterday? Something. Which I think Verizon was testing. Because that doesn't just happen. See if they get shut off the power in Denmark. Just want to use the tri-state real quick.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Are we trying to see if we can get 5G in Greenland? Is that what we're trying to do right now? What are they doing over there, man? That doesn't just happen. You don't just... We are the closest, well, no, I guess Boston would be the closest. major city to Greenland? Well, in the states.
Starting point is 00:10:10 I guess Toronto and all that. But yeah, I could see us being the guinea pig. There's something going on. There's something going on, man. You got to watch these guys. Is there major cities in Greenland? I know it sounds ignorant. I never learned anything.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Major cities? Nah, I don't know about a major. Like, I know you can go see them like Northern Lights and all that shit. I think that's cool. But like, do people just chill there? Greenland's major cities, all coastal and relatively small by global standards where we are are led by the capital. Followed by Sismith and Ilysses Asiacet and Kakadak, which serve as key cultural economic and tourism hubs with Nukh, housing a significant portion of the nation's population.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Nook is the capital and larger city located on the southwest coast Rory, acting as the political and economic center with modern amenities. So yes. Well, our commander-in-chief has a fucking nuke for Nuck. You got the Nuck if you buck. Yeah, nuke if you buck. nuke if you buck knuck you knuck keep fucking around you got barrisons because you won't even know oh my god that's not funny but it's definitely not funny at all yeah um and shout out to everyone shout to everybody and knuck man yeah i'm sure we have a lot of listeners it looks beautiful i love
Starting point is 00:11:24 love the colors and the lansk it looks like a beautiful beautiful place for sure no absolutely um new music friday uh we all recording this on thursday i want to say the biggest release we have coming up outside of obviously the co-record dropping would be the asap rock Don't Be Dumb album, which we're finally getting. Hey, Rocky. I really thought he was showing us for years, and it was called Don't Be Dumb because we were dumb thinking it was ever going to drop. But you put out a track list as well as features.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Who we got on there? Bossman Dilo, Brent Fives, Dochee. Brent's on there. Corrillas. Thundercat, Tyler Crater, Westside Gunn, Will I Am. It's a cool list of features. Good feature. And again, I've liked the records he's put out, probably more than I've done.
Starting point is 00:12:09 liked new rocking music in a while. So I am actually, this is one that I will turn on right away when it does drop. Tyler the creator. That's interesting. Tile and Rocky, okay. I mean, they're really close friends. Yeah, no, I'm just saying, just anytime, you know, they're doing music together. It's like, okay, I want to hear what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Do we think Rihanna is on this album, but more as a secret feature? I can see that because he put up a billboard. I think that was on 34th Street with all the features. I could see like a hidden Rihanna track on there or a hidden feature where she's not listed. No, I think if Rihanna was on it, he's going to put her name. But I don't know. Rocky's like, cool. Like, he probably think it's cooler not to put Rihanna up there.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Like, yeah, but Rocky's also businessman. And he knows what that does for business. I mean, he has one million presaves in headlines every festival. I don't even know if I believe that one million presaves though. He broke the record.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Shout out to Rocky. What was the record before? But I don't know if I believe that. Like, it's like, we have. Like you said, who held the record before that? And how many pre-saves did they have? Like, I know pre-orders. That was always a stat, pre-orders.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Yeah. Because we know you have purchased this already. I mean, pre-save is just so it pops up on your Spotify or Apple when whatever it comes out. How many monthly listeners does Rocky have? Probably a lot. Let's look at that because I just want to see something real quick. I mean, listen, like you said, Rocky is always headlining every festival. I mean, that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Harlem legend, but I'm just a million presaves. And we're not taking anything away from Rocky and who he is as a legend in his own right. His brand is incredible, but... 38 million monthly listeners? I can see it. And even when we used to clown like, yo, who is Rocky's booking agent? Because we need them. Anytime I do see footage of him headlining a festival, everybody is singing every single word.
Starting point is 00:14:01 I mean, Rocky's a legend. He has a co-following. We know that. I'm just seeing a million. pre-saves is like, damn, like, okay. That's great. And he didn't put a single or nothing out, right? Helicopters and then he, the punk, punk rocky.
Starting point is 00:14:16 Oh, the one, he just put out a couple, two weeks ago? And the helicopter came a few days after that. Okay. But no, I mean, the features are cool. I definitely want to hear him with the guerrillas. I haven't heard from him in a while, so I think that that'll be cool. The top 10 most pre-saved albums on Spotify currently the life of a showgirl at 5.5 million. Deadbeat, $675,000, everybody screamed for you.
Starting point is 00:14:38 This is three months ago. Okay, so. So on average, it's usually in the thousands, not in the millions. All right. Well, I mean, shit. Do we think that translates to say, because even if I pre-save it and just listen to it once, that's not really like a big stat to your first week numbers. You know, I think I have to listen to it like 1,500 times for you to get one stream.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Yeah. So, I mean, I'm curious to see how that translates. late with sales not that I really give a fuck about sales but because that was a stat that they said he broke the record I'm always interested in those type of stats um but yeah I think this might be the first Rocky album in a while that I'm actually pretty excited for I'm looking forward to it I mean he was kind of you know flirting with the idea of putting out an album for a while so that it is here and then Rocky is very you know creative artistic it pays attention to detail so it's not it's not going to be terrible it's going to be interesting
Starting point is 00:15:32 it's going to be. Hopefully he tries some different things musically. I mean, he did on punk rocky. Yeah. It's definitely not something that he's usually done sonically or musically. And like you said, now life is a little different for Rocky. You know, he can create from a very, very free. He can take some risks here. He can create from a very free, a very free place, a very free mind.
Starting point is 00:15:52 Yeah. But yeah, I still, I still cannot see Rihanna, not at least putting some harms or something, something on this project. I don't think so, man. An interlude. Because I think Rihanna know people will be pissed at that. Like, yo, why are you, like, why are you playing with us? Like, you can't be in no booth recording anything and it's not your album.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Like, if people know Rihanna went to a studio and did whatever she, you think she may have done for Rocky's album, I think her fans are going to be pissed. Like, yo, don't come on. You can't go to the studio and not give us at least a song. Like, don't give us harmonies on Rocky's track. Don't do that. Give us a record at least. I mean, well, I guess Lemonade had came out the year prior.
Starting point is 00:16:32 I mean, Beyonce was on 444. Did she give us anything in 2017? Yeah, but Beyonce probably, but Beyonce, but Beyonce, but Beyonce has never taken 10, 12 years off of putting out any music on an album. Yeah, I mean, but she did the Smurf record. She did give us the Smurf. She did give us the Smurf thing. So, I mean, nobody knows that song.
Starting point is 00:16:55 I'm gonna keep it real with you, Rory. I never even heard that song. You bring that out of that song. I never even listen to it. it. I'm not, I'm not saying it got like a million pre-says. I know you're not saying that. I'm just saying as a Rihanna, as a Rihanna fan, I never even went to listen to that. I heard it once. How was it? It sounds like it should be in a smart movie. Okay. Like it definitely like worked for what she was trying to do with the movie. Listen, I know, I know Rihanna's fans are, you know,
Starting point is 00:17:23 they want music. And as a Rihanna fan, I would, I would definitely be very happy if I open my phone to see Rihanna announce an album. Um, if that's what it takes. to go on your husband's album, I'll take anything from Rihanna at this point, musically. But it's just, when you, listen, where Rihanna's doing what she's doing in beauty in that fashion world, it's like, let's say word right now, if you, if you start doing something in the beauty and fashion world and you're a billion in that, someone like, I'm quitting like, Rorya, when are you going to put out the next album?
Starting point is 00:17:50 You go look at somebody like, what? Like, I'm not putting out no fucking music. But that's why I think she would be on Rocky's project. Like, NBA Young Boy is putting out slime cry tomorrow. If she was on that, I'd be very surprised. But that's her husband and father of her children's album. I'm sure Rocky records a lot in their crib. I can see her just being around that creativity and like a safe space to do some shit.
Starting point is 00:18:17 I'm on the other side. I think Rihanna goes in the studio of Rocky's in him. Like this is what you doing? She turns her nose up at music now. Like what is this? What is this board? Soundboard? What is this engineering there with you?
Starting point is 00:18:30 Is this? I hear you, but I think Rocky again, to what you were saying before, like he has space to just create how he wants to. There's really no pressure because he's financially secure forever. I think he could try some cool shit where Rihanna would be like, I've never been on something like that. Now if she was married to Bruno Mars, I could see Rihanna being like, all right, we're doing this again?
Starting point is 00:18:48 I'll stick to the lipstick. Okay. Everyone's gotten this type of record for me. I'm cool. But if Rocky does some weird grunge left shit, I can see Rihanna getting on that. Well, I think you're wrong, but we will see. I'm just trying to speak in existence more reality. I get it.
Starting point is 00:19:02 No, I know. I know what play you're speaking. Every day I just want more around him. I get it. I understand. But yeah, I know you're, you can't wait for the young boy slime cry. Listen,
Starting point is 00:19:10 I told you, uh, the, I forgot the young lady's name that sent me an NBA young boy playlist. Listen, man, I'm, I'm on board.
Starting point is 00:19:17 I told you, Millie's got me on, sent me some records. I, I fuck with them. That, uh, you know,
Starting point is 00:19:23 his documentary shook me a little bit. Sometimes I don't like to know what you're saying is true. Yeah. Sometimes I would hope it's just entertainment. But, you know, I hope the good people of Baton Rouge are safe after this album. That's all I care about, really, at this point. I'm at that age where I care about tax-based citizens.
Starting point is 00:19:40 The good people of Baton Rouge are safe, yes. But, yeah, I'm going to give the young boy album a spin. It won't be, you know, rushing to it. But I definitely will over the weekend. Wiz chaotic album dropping. I definitely am looking forward to. We got to support Wiz because he's no longer allowed to go to Romania. So we got to make sure that, you know, we give him all the support.
Starting point is 00:19:58 going to pardon them. Give Wiz all the support as if Wiz kids about never having to go to Romania again. But definitely want to listen to the new Wiz album, for sure. And this is where I'm a little confused. The game, DJ drama, Mike and Keys, it's another mixed date? Yes. Okay. Because I know we just got one.
Starting point is 00:20:15 And obviously we know game works pretty quickly. So they probably had 40 leftover records. And we're like, let's do part two. You know what this is. Definitely know what this is. Yeah. Which I'm not mad at. But yeah, there's some good music coming out.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Singles here and there. um joiner lucas i'll give it a spin um but yeah other than that it's pretty much asap rocky's day if you're rocky how do you feel about cold dropping announcing that kind of is the talk of social media right now the timeline obviously this two track two is out right now like if you're if you're rocky are you punching the air like tray and boys in the hood are you like pissed off like god damn it Cole. Again, I think Rocky has a large core fan base that... Clearly it didn't hurt him. You got a million pre-sacresa. I don't think people forgot about the entire thing. And Cole, just, you know, I don't want to say that's going to come
Starting point is 00:21:08 across bad to listeners. He just dropped a record. Like, it's just one song. If it was a double-disc album on the same day as Don't Be Dumb, I'd be furious if I was anybody putting out music. But, no, I don't think it affects much of anything. And, you know, we got the record yesterday. I don't think it's going to affect people wanting to go listen and don't be dumb at midnight at all. And I mean, they're cool. They should post beef. They did a record together. And video, like, I'm sure Rocky was well aware and, you know, didn't particularly care.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Okay. Now, if Cole starts going crazy since the double disc, can we start getting five records before February 6th? Like, if he floods this weekend, yeah, I'd be a little mad about it. Yeah, we got to look at him like, all, man. Come on, dog. Like, what's up? And at that point, you got to knock on the bedroom door. Hey, Rihanna, we got to do a deluxe.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Definitely. Like, all right. Four records. We're doing an EP. Yeah, Cole, that's what you want to do? All right. 60-fenty billboards are going up tonight. What show you, Cole?
Starting point is 00:22:11 60-fifty billboards all across from Manhattan. Yeah. What did you think? Because, I mean, we recorded in real time for those that listened to our episode that came out on Thursday. We were reacting in real time to the Jay Cole. record he announced it when we started recording then we finished recording and then he put out the video in the song so we went back and recorded um so that was our our in the moment reaction yeah cole i was late for my lunch date with my mom because of you it's okay that's for the resentment company
Starting point is 00:22:38 yeah yeah i'm sure cole's actually happy about that based off everything you thought rocky we've mad at cole no cole's mad at mall um i mean the reactions at least i saw because again algorithms kind of keep you in your own bubble um i i saw really positive reviews of the entire song yeah yeah I mean we we gave a positive review we liked it I do think that the video is better than the actual song but I mean both still good though okay yeah I terrible that I take yeah I think it's a really good intro like to start a rollout definitely good appetizer yeah that was an app it was an app it so I mean I think that was great but no people seem to to fuck with it um and I'm curious where where this double disc lands us
Starting point is 00:23:24 like 20 records. We're doing 10 and 10, 15 and 15. What's life after death? 24 and all eyes on me? It's probably 25 or something like that. Yeah, because listen, man, as we know, Rory, it's, you know, while as fans and, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:39 supporters, we're happy to get music, but that double disc thing can come back to bite you because sometimes too much music is not good. Again, we were talking yesterday. Outside of life after death and all eyes on me, I don't know if there's a really like classic double disc in hip hop. So you say he wasn't filling Blueprint too? I think if it if I mean him and him and Ngueru both said if we condense this down to one album.
Starting point is 00:24:07 This might be a classic. You can say no. It was too much music. It's low on my, uh, my JZ discography. It has great music on it, but I'm cool. Even, um, Street's Disciple by Nas. There's great records on there. You condense that one down to 12.
Starting point is 00:24:22 You have an incredible Nas. project yeah like once he starts getting into the uh aid songs and manipulating his voice where we all thought it was little kim but it was like nas naz pitched up yeah yeah that's when all right we're a little too deep into this album y'all was in there trying anything at that point yeah i don't want that you said my white blood cells are not good i'm like all right man we're going this is going far but that's a real thing though so that's that's one of the things that i'm like you know because i know that no matter what i say i can't say anything that's deemed to be anything negative about Cole without people think I'm hating
Starting point is 00:24:54 or I don't like Jay Cole so I get that part but double disc if this is in fact a double disc there is a very high risk in that though we've seen our legends fail at it very high risk it could be short you're right it could be eight and eight I was I was thinking
Starting point is 00:25:13 it could be seven and seven whatever you know it could not saying it has to be 12 and 12 and 15 I get that but still like you you run the risk of it being like, we didn't need the double. It can fall into that we didn't need this much or that, you know, double disk. We didn't need that.
Starting point is 00:25:30 I was thinking when we left about that concept that was originally rumored with the features of the older artists. I could see disc one being all features and then disc two being no features. Because that second one, it's just two, it's just too, track two. You and your creative bag. You and your producer bag right now. But we've talked about how this has changed. It's about to be five or six years since he announced this album. It's changed so much, I could see him doing it that way because there's so much music.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Like, I still want to do this feature concept, but, you know, I have all this other solo music. Yeah. But yeah, so life after death is 14 and 12, which is a lot. 14 and 26. Then all eyes on me is 14 and 14. Jesus, 28 track. That's just too much music, man. But they didn't miss.
Starting point is 00:26:22 Hockey big did not miss on anything I get it but that's just like When you look at that like think about it now It's like damn that's just I don't I'm just being honest I don't want to listen to nobody that much on one project Like I just don't like 26 songs Scorpion is 12 and 13
Starting point is 00:26:40 But he also had He also had the cheat code of one being R&B and one being hip hop So it was two different albums Two different vibes What about sweat and suit with Nelly Not a bad not a bad bad album but coming off country grammar and Nellyville and then getting into that it was like
Starting point is 00:26:56 all right man i don't know if we needed 11 and 14 bloomin 2 25 okay uh yeah just too it's just that's just too much when you get into 20 anything 20 you're like how many tracks you're 20 i'm just like all right man you couldn't get the message across in 14 um what was the the gang the gangstar one that was like a more of a greatest hits right i think i had a gang start double disc i think it was more like yeah that had that way i think that would have to be a double uh yeah um even i'm trying to think uh bone thugs what was that art of war didn't need again it was so much music especially with that flow and that this is like now that's just too much like we dips that had two album a double disc diplomatic yeah i think diplomatic
Starting point is 00:27:46 meaning was a double this wasn't it was a double disc yeah everybody it was the it was the arrow where everybody was trying to shoot that was almost like a stat to be able to get a double disc off yeah i know for sure i was like a yo where's your double disc though like you ain't got a double disc well that's what guru said he said to to hove yeah like when they were about to start it's like well you know you you haven't done the double disc like big and pop yeah it's like well maybe we shouldn't have wutang forever 27 tracks yeah but it's 27 members in wutton yeah that doesn't count that's like everybody having the solo song that doesn't that doesn't count uh scarface scarface scar face my homies again
Starting point is 00:28:22 not super high on my discography with Scarface yeah um mass be the last done Nate dog G-funn classics I would have to go back
Starting point is 00:28:32 and look at that track list um it's a lot of West Coast corrupt E40 Cypress Hill mm-hmm yeah diplomatic community was a double
Starting point is 00:28:41 disc 27 tracks um outcast speaker box level I I don't consider that it's not a it's yes it was packaged
Starting point is 00:28:50 as a double disc disc yes but two different and one's a rap album one's not exactly um I didn't know a little flip gave us one where were you in 04 when when flip gave us the double disc
Starting point is 00:29:05 I remember that I remember flips double disc oh UGK Underground Kings that was a good double disc 26 records I'll give them that yes not quite on the life after death or all eyes on me but yeah that that UGK Underground Kings album is a
Starting point is 00:29:21 great double disc. All right. Well, Cole, I respect it. That's just a lot of, it's a lot of pressure. We got to see. We gonna see. All right, does that put a pressure? I'm not making this a big three thing, guys, I promise, but just based off what like guru had said to Hove, like, yo, all the legends have put out double discs, even at that point. Was Mr. Morrell? Was that a double disc? Was that considered, yeah, well, yeah. Cole was the only one left. okay Cole's only enough 2 6 2 disc
Starting point is 00:29:57 what you said 2 6 2 6 2 2 6 2 2 6 all right all right man but even then like I I put Scorpion and Mr. Moral lower in there their discography's too
Starting point is 00:30:09 tough so I don't know I don't think Cole and the people around him would allow him to do a double disc if they didn't feel like it was up to par and they've been working on this for so long yeah like if
Starting point is 00:30:23 they haven't even like, if certain songs haven't even gotten old to them yet and it's been five years and yeah, maybe he's fucking a flawless double disc. Yeah. So we'll see. Ma'all, what's that right there? It doesn't look like the most powerful iPhone that's ever existed. This old thing? Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George. but you gotta do a little kill.
Starting point is 00:32:26 Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam Jay. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack. I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so you all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
Starting point is 00:32:52 So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you for finishing that sentence. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:33:15 I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault in Our Stars. And now, I guess also is the co-host of the Away End, a brand new world soccer podcast. I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist, and John and I have known each other since we were kids. My first World Cup was Mexico 86. I was nine years old. I watched every game, and I fell in love. On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. For us, soccer, football, is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. And I was there most loyal and sometimes, but.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Only fan. I love this game. I love its history, its hope, its heartbreak, and above all, it's beauty. Together, we'll find out
Starting point is 00:34:02 why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important. Listen to the away end with Daniel Auer Kohn and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,

Starting point is 00:34:31 Right. Just finished five years. I'm going to have cookies and milk at them all. Yeah. On the Ceno Show podcast, each episode invites you into a raw, unfiltered conversations about recovery, resilience, and redemption. On a recent episode, I sit down with actor. I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money. It's Financial Literacy Month, and the podcast, Eating While Broke, is bringing real
Starting point is 00:35:27 conversations about money, growth, and building your future. This month, hear from top streamer, Zoe Spencer, and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100%. They believe everything. But at first, it was just like, you got to go get a real job.
Starting point is 00:35:52 There's an economic component to community striving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. And what I mean by fell is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them. Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. In more important news, Maul, I did watch Badi's.
Starting point is 00:36:26 How are you looking? All right. Here's my thing. What are you like, Gretchen? I watch. Gretchen, that's your girl, Gretchen? You got a lot in common, actually. You and Gretch, Gretchen, y'all got a lot.
Starting point is 00:36:38 You got a little bit of something going on, yeah. I think y'all might be in the same group shots over here. I'll take that one on the chin. As Cole said on stage, my chin is out. I'll take that one gracefully. Oh, man. So I was only familiar with baddies when you had brought it up two seasons ago. So I really thought the concept of the show was literally just beat up
Starting point is 00:37:02 bitches for your bed. Yeah. Which is great. I was entertained. Then they went to Africa and I had to tune out after they were fighting in front of the tribal dances. I just thought they took it a little too far. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:12 This is Badi's and it's in New York and it's got a bunch of people like I know on it. I had no idea that all these people were in Badi's like a friend of the show Mariah Lynn. She's on there. Uh, Suki. Uh, she's on there. Suki been on there though. Again, they weren't never on the seasons I watched.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Okay. And I also didn't know. that baddies, all of them rap now. They did like an S-O-B showcase. The first episode was just like a SOB showcase where every single girl went up there to rap. I thought they were just beating each other up for beds.
Starting point is 00:37:44 Nah, you're beating each other for beds and beating each other with bars. It's just beating, being a baddie. You got to have bars, you got to have beds. So all of the bees. Baddies, beds, and bars. And I did not know that what I didn't know Natalie Nunn rapped.
Starting point is 00:38:00 How you didn't know that? The intro is her rapping. I realized that when she performed it. I said, that's been Natalie Nunn the whole time. Yeah, that's a bar. And then I didn't know the founder of Zeus is also a rapper. Go figure. And they did a little, you know, kissing styles back and forth on the performance.
Starting point is 00:38:17 Naturally. And then he had to, he said he had to leave the showcase early because he was growing the brand in Milan. And they said, that he just brought two bad chicks. I didn't know. He said, I'm going to bring them with me. We're going to grow the brand. Yo, life is great for them, man. That has to be a great life.
Starting point is 00:38:38 I'm going to grow the brand in Milan. You two baddies, let's go. Like, what? I know pimping when I see pimping, man. A hundred percent. He's like the general manager at the strip club. Like, you know that guy. I respect it.
Starting point is 00:38:50 It's called. Oh, no, hey, his bars wasn't that bad either. He was kind of rabies. Don Juan. Have you ever heard of his bars? It's called pimping, man. That's what it's called. So then after the showcase, they were all up in the green room, you know, everyone just reviewing their performances.
Starting point is 00:39:06 And Suki goes up to Gretchen, my in-law, and brings up, I was not aware that there was a past of her rapping the N-word in her verses. And then she tried to do it at the showcase. And Gretchen, believe it or not, with that name, is white. And she was booed offstage because she's just saying the N-word in front of a bunch of black people while she's rapping. So, Sugi confronts her naturally, like, yo, don't say that shit, especially don't say that shit in front of me. And, Brett's like, why the fuck? Like, I could say it. Like, I'm from the hood.
Starting point is 00:39:35 Everybody says that. Like, I don't even know why you're getting bent out of shape. The people that love me, uh, allow me to say at this and that. And she said, bitch, don't say that shit in front of me. And then Gretchen went, don't call me a bitch. Look what she's bad at. Yeah, yeah. She took a picture back.
Starting point is 00:39:57 Whoa. That's too far. I'm mad because you're using the N-word in front of you. and you are a white woman and I am a black woman. A very fair point. And then Greshi says, whoa, whoa, don't call me a bitch. You're going too far. We can't name them call here.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Yeah, yeah, you're going too far with that. You're going way too far with that B word. Don't do that. Don't do that. She didn't even see the irony. No. How could she? Not at all.
Starting point is 00:40:20 I got to watch the season, though, because I haven't, I kind of tuned out after the baddies' Africa reunion. I haven't really been keeping up with the baddies. So I got to check back in and see what they're doing, man. But, and it was funny. the owner's zoo slash you know pimp he gave him like a pep talk before the performance like hey
Starting point is 00:40:39 we're not here to fight this is a professional business nobody fight yeah you don't need that fight come on two verses in yeah yeah fight they scrapping on stage come on man shout out to the baddies I got to watch it I didn't know they was back in New York so I got to see what they're doing in the city man
Starting point is 00:40:56 I was hoping for like an Eric Adams cameo or something He was almost, he almost had an episode of baddies getting off the plane I saw. A woman and him and the woman had words. And he said something against us like, you know, I'm not the mayor no more. Like I don't have to take that. Like he basically, I can snap back if I want to. Like I'm just a regular civilian now.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Like I don't have to. And, you know, they got into words. And he told her to go fuck herself. I like it. We got the former mayor Eric Adams telling somebody go fuck himself. We got the current president flipping the bird. Listen, they're humans. Right? They're human. Sometimes you get into a little
Starting point is 00:41:33 emotions and things happen. It's just okay to have a go fuck yourself a moment. Do we know what prompted this whole conversation? You know what this is. We've gotten on plenty of flights. If I had to guess his bag was in her whole overhead. She has a connecting. She's trying to rush past him, bumped him. You know how that goes. Or she's just one of those, you know,
Starting point is 00:41:57 citizens who just hates what he did and things that everything that went wrong in New York City is his fault and she couldn't wait to see him and have her moment. Yeah, yeah, come on. You got to flip the bird. He said, go see the Brooklyn come out of me. Yeah, I like that. People have been throwing off planes for less.
Starting point is 00:42:15 Luckily, they were exiting the plane. Yeah, they were just getting off. That was just a regular conversation. I'm willing to bet this was- I think it's funny that he carries a backpack. This was at LaGuardia, I'm willing to bet. I'm willing to bet this was LaGuardia. I mean, I thought he'd be flying private by now.
Starting point is 00:42:28 Remember he had to sully himself and go sit at the middle seat because he got caught. You're going to make it too hot. Not yet. Not yet. He ain't going to do that yet. Not. He took the money. Yeah, but that's why we got to, but they don't know that yet.
Starting point is 00:42:39 So just chill. Everybody relax. But in two years, we're going to check back and see how he's traveling. That is such a thing that only really benefits you and yourself. Like, you're not really a social justice warrior when you do things like that. Now, I think it's important for citizens to be able to say whatever to whatever. to whatever civil servant we are paying at the moment or after. But that's for you.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Like, that's for you to go tell your friends you did that. That's not for the cause of whatever you were talking about. Eric didn't just go, you know what? I never thought of it that way. You're bringing up a good point while yelling at me, getting off a plane. Yeah. You're just serving yourself at that. Even if you think you're not.
Starting point is 00:43:26 That's all you're doing. Even the guy screaming pedophile to Trump, pedophile protector. I agree. He is. fucking put out the files. That guy, it didn't change anything. You got to have your moment, though. You got to be able to go back to the barns.
Starting point is 00:43:38 It's hilarious. I told the president this. You know, he flipped the bird at me. Like, imagine the president flips the bird at you. Like, you're a legend. You are a legend. The president flips the bird at you. You're a legend.
Starting point is 00:43:48 You're forever legend. That picture of him flipping the bird is on the wall. You're going to tell that story until you die. Like, he was doing that to me. Like, I just feel like people, and again, I don't even know what this woman said, so I don't want to put it on her. But the,
Starting point is 00:44:01 People like the woman on that plane. While I have shitted on Eric Adams constantly, I feel like they feel like they're Jesse Owens at the Olympics flipping off Hitler. Like you're not, I promise you the statement you think you're making is not to the degree of that. No, not at all. That's how hard the situation has to be for that to change anything. It has to be the Olympics, Jesse Owens, and a middle finger. That's real?
Starting point is 00:44:27 So the guy who flipped, who Donald Trump, President Trump flipped a bird, that got suspended from his job at Ford and they started a GoFundMe and he's now received over 800,000 in donations. I mean, that's usually what happens. Oh, man. Wait till I see Trump. Ripping that toupee all the top of his head. Wait till I see Trump.
Starting point is 00:44:49 What? 800,000? Just because he got suspended. He wouldn't make that at Ford in probably six years working in. And then you can suspend yourself from your own show. Start a go fund me. 800K. That is crazy.
Starting point is 00:45:06 I stand corrected. At least he got something out of it. I mean, you can, you know how many times somebody's flipped the bird at me? I haven't gotten anything. Nobody set up a GoFundMe. I didn't even ask how I felt. Yeah, like, what? $800,000 and less than 24.
Starting point is 00:45:20 Damn. Yeah. That's just like the lady that, the little, the lady that was working at the Auntie Anni's and she had the little racist slur. Oh, yeah, yeah. She got fired. Did you see how GoFundMe? How she?
Starting point is 00:45:34 went crazy? Yeah. Her GoFundMe went crazy. She did number. She did Rocky album pre-save numbers. Like, her shit was crazy. Matter of fact, Gretchen should look into this because any time I see a white woman get fired for saying some racist shit, they're millionaires by the next day. It's crazy. So, you know, Gretchen, you may need to set up your GoFundMe after the baddies episode. But what does that do, though? Like, when people sit back and watch this, what does that
Starting point is 00:45:55 do for people? Like, do you don't think that prompts people to be like, wait, hold up. Just like I just said, like, wait till I see Trump. You don't think that that, that's a real thing. If I see this and I'm like, damn, Trump has a rally here next week, I'm just saying a light bulb may go off of my head. Yeah, but you got to like, you can't repeat the same trick. No, you got to do something here. You got to up it. If he, whatever he said, pedophile protector, you go further than pedophile. You got to like flip his hoodie over his head.
Starting point is 00:46:21 Well, no. You don't fuck around in there. You won't see that. You won't see your go fund. You can't get physical. You want to get physical. No, no. You can't get physical with the president.
Starting point is 00:46:28 You can't do that. But you have to yell something if he's in your city and you just saw some. somebody yell that at him and make over 800,000 on a go from me. Like that's that, that, that will only spark people to want to do shit like that. But that's such like a specific and perfect moment. Like, imagine you're just on your assembly line and look up like, is that the fucking, is that the president? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:51 Like, how often does that happen? And you would have to hope that the president. It's just you and him, like, Dolo, just yelling. Like, you would have to hope that he responds to, though. You can yell whatever you want, but you would have to hope that he responds in that type of way where. So that moment, he caught lightning in a bottle with that. The president flipping the bird, like no president has ever done that that I can think about. Like that, we've never seen that before.
Starting point is 00:47:12 So that was just a moment where it was just like, holy. Like I said, that guy, I don't know, still don't know his name. He's a fucking legend. I mean, only Trump could do that, though. Yeah. Could you imagine if Obama flipped somebody off? Oh, yeah, they would have put. Can you make it?
Starting point is 00:47:27 Yeah, that video would have invited to return of the Mac behind that video. That would have been the cool. That would have been the coolest shit ever if Obama did that. He would have been impeached immediately. I don't know about that. Did you watch Euphoria at all? I did. I didn't really keep up with every season, but I watched it.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Okay. Incredible series, similar to Rihanna music. We've been waiting for this shit for five years. It's finally back, and they got Sidney Sweeney as the only fans model. That's her character arc for this year. Which I think is kind of fucked up because they already had like, a sort of only fans situation with the cat girl. But I don't know, this trailer is throwing me off.
Starting point is 00:48:12 I'm not saying that these characters cannot leave high school and life can develop. But this is like a GTA trailer. Like it's so far off of what the other narratives were from that, which is fine. It's turning to something else. Yeah, which is fine. All of us are in high school at one point and all go on and have some different paths. Become adults, yeah. But yeah, it's like, I didn't know Roos gonna get this knee deep in the drug game.
Starting point is 00:48:37 Like, she's turning to like a cartel boss in this shit. Yeah. And like, all they were doing was like, you know, a little heroin here and there. But they were using it. They weren't selling it. Right. So, yeah, this is, it kind of like turned into some type of blow situation. Which I'm interested to see.
Starting point is 00:48:55 But it was really mainly about like transgender, dicks, high schoolers, fucking. Now, this is just a crazy cartel turn that I didn't see coming. But, I mean, they smoked the last two seasons. So I'm here for it. Is that A-Con? Oh, no, no, no. That's Atabesi. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:49:15 He had the hat on the way he looked up and looked like A-com. My bad. My bad, Rory. I'm sorry, my bad. It's funny. It was just a shadow. Yeah. But he looked up and kind of like A-Con a little bit.
Starting point is 00:49:27 Speaking of shows that we have not gotten a while, What's up with P Valley, man? Pea Valley, it's been a while. Yeah, I don't know, man. I don't know. We had saw a shout to our guy, J. Al Fons. I saw him when we were in Broccoli. Broccoli City.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Broccoli City. We saw him. Was that two years ago now? Yeah. I saw him there and he said that he took his hat off and he had the, he had the little murder hair and cutting to die. And I was like, I was so excited. I was like, you back.
Starting point is 00:49:55 Like he's really real murder. I thought he was performing. Yeah. So he said, yeah, he said, yo, we're filming, you know, just at the third, like we back on set. But that was like I said, that was almost two years ago. So I don't know. I don't know what happened. Because it was the last season was 2022.
Starting point is 00:50:10 Shannon Thornton was on the show. She posted a beautiful picture on her Instagram the other day. I love her. I don't know if that was, you know, on the set of P. Valley or not. But, yeah, I don't know, man. That show was such a great show. I don't know what happened. Like I said, Jay Alphonse told me that they were back filming and shooting.
Starting point is 00:50:27 So I don't know what happened with that. AI says that season three is filmed in post-production with an expected premiere on stars in late 2025 or early 26. Okay, so? I just feel like they would have announced it by now. So probably mid, maybe summer? Yeah. Possibly? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:44 But I mean, if it's done, listen. Maybe April? I hope they have a quicker turnaround with that show because that show is incredible. Really good show. And like, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, euphoria. I do, I do, I do expect to see a, uh, up in production, storyline change is with P Valley, but definitely a great show. So looking forward to that in 26.
Starting point is 00:51:06 Yeah. We brought up earlier, but I did want to get more in detail about it. Kai said he's quitting and just doing fashion full-time. He's got a sewing machine. He's doing his Kanye. I'm moving to Paris to be an intern phase. I don't believe him. I don't know if I believe that he's completely quitting forever, but I can respect
Starting point is 00:51:28 somebody at the peak of their career realizing that this is not making them happy and they want to quit? I can see that. I can see Kyle wanting to try different things and, you know, I'm definitely, he's created an amazing platform for himself. He's built enough access and opportunity for himself. So I want to see him chase his dreams and, and, you know, have different goals. Love that for him. But when you say quitting, streaming, I don't know if he doesn't. And not only that, he was just on, he was just on something other day and DDG was looking at it. And he noticed, he noticed Kai's backpack, his streamer backpack. And he was like, he got the itch.
Starting point is 00:52:06 He's ready to fire up the stream right now. Like he noticed Kai's backpack and he was like, uh, he still got it with him. So it's kind of like, you know, he says he's quitting. Maybe I don't know if quitting is the word.
Starting point is 00:52:17 Maybe, you know, just focusing on other things right now. But I got to stream some of that, no? Like the fashion stuff. I mean, even the video, it's not on stream, but. Yeah, I mean, to some extent. But again, Kai has done. so many things in that space, man, where he's dedicated literally every day, every hour of his life
Starting point is 00:52:36 to that. I can definitely understand him wanting to completely just remove himself for that for a while. Like, just mentally, I can only imagine how draining that is on him to be sitting in front of a screen in the camera 24-7 for days at a time, months at a time. Like, that shit has a, it takes a toll on you. So, you know, I think he has other passions and things like that, that he's afforded herself to do and try. So I think he's going to do that for a while, but somebody going to offer Kai a stupid bag for just, even if it's a one-night-only stream. Like, he's going to get a crazy just to do that.
Starting point is 00:53:10 So I don't think quitting is the word. I think he's stepping away from it and trying other things, but. Not at the same clip of every day like it was before. Streamers like rappers. You can't quit rapping. Yeah. You can't quit. Rappers can't retire.
Starting point is 00:53:22 You can't quit. Yeah. I mean, again, I give him credit for being that young and that self-aware of at your peak. That's a tough decision, but if you know this shit is not making me happy, I want to do other things. I applaud that. Take a break. Take super mature of him. Take some time. Take some years off. You know, do that, do other things, acting or whatever. Do all of that. But quitting, I don't know if he's done. I don't know if quitting is the word. I highly doubt Kai is done with that. But again, I love the fact that he's taking time off and
Starting point is 00:53:50 try another shit. I did see a security guard quit his job while he was on his post at the Rod Wave concert just so he could, you know, get his bars off. A security guard quit his job. His manager say, yo, you can't do this. You're working. And he said, well, I quit just so he could get this look. And can we get some volume? He didn't have the tune.
Starting point is 00:54:11 That's where I think he should have. I'm sure he sounds a little different in the studio. But I need you to try your best day. Yeah. My friend. You can't do the new one. I'm blur the uniform. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:54:24 Did you quit, bro? I was going to quit anyway, bro. That's the only reason I can't. For real, to rock the wrong way, man. That's the only reason I came. I respect it. He just quit right here. Ain't way, bro.
Starting point is 00:54:35 Just quit his job like that. Bro, he just quit his job. I'm real. That was a terrible idea, bro. I respect it. That was a terrible idea. That would be real. That was a terrible idea.
Starting point is 00:54:47 Literally the phrase, don't quit your day job. I mean, listen, I respected it. And this did go kind of viral. So, like, he did get a valuable moment for his career if he stays consistent. I just think maybe he sounds a little bit better with some tune. I don't know. There's certain artists that, like, backstage, you get your bars off. Like, when Meek was coming up, yeah, Meek, if Ross walked by, I'm a rap for him, and that'll translate.
Starting point is 00:55:14 The way these kids sing with all the effects, I don't know if you can just be backstage. Yeah. Trying to get your shit off. Yeah, I don't know how. Like, he needs an auto-tuned, like, personal path to do. Listen, Rod is an incredible talent. I don't know if Rod sounds this much better than this kid standing there. I agree.
Starting point is 00:55:31 I'm saying in the studio he may sound good. Yeah. What's his go-fund me at, Josh? Let's get a go-futmy for this gentleman that quit his security job at the Rod Wave show. Let's get him up to 800K. And I love that he had a Burberry shirt on under his, he planned this entire thing. Those are the type of security guards you need his shows because he'll let you get away with anything. Yeah, but those type of shoe, you know, they just hire a lot of those guys for the
Starting point is 00:55:54 day. Oh, yeah. Part of like an agency or something like that. But that, you know, that's not going to hurt that kid. But yeah, we should get a, that's the type of, we need a go for me for him. I want to hear like his dream. Let's support his dream. Let's support his dream of being an artist.
Starting point is 00:56:08 Were you, um, were you, um, were you, I'm not trying to make a joke. Were you backstage when that security guard wrapped with Jay Z and DMX in that cipher? No. Can you click that? This, this was on the, the backstage DVD, I think. You can give us some volume. We should. Yeah, no, I wasn't, I wasn't, I wasn't, I wasn't, I wasn't,
Starting point is 00:56:22 Because you got to imagine just being a security guard and, you know, maybe walking in the bathroom and saying that cipher with Jay Z and DMM. Yeah. Look, like you're out rap. Yeah, I mean, it's right there. Jay and X always had ciphers, no matter where, wherever they were at. They were always going to rap. You miss when people like to just like to write. Just didn't even have to be for any purpose.
Starting point is 00:56:42 Yeah. That's all you got to do. Just let's get some balls. Somebody got to beat. We're on tour. Like, let's see who writing. Let's see who keeping their pinch off. Remember Terry Glenn jerseys?
Starting point is 00:56:53 Yeah, so X goes and then the security guard. Just starts rapping. That's not secure. That's Jay-elect right here. That's Jay-elect. This is early Jay-Lek. I assume they were using the Nation of Islam for security.
Starting point is 00:57:07 Imagine if that was Jay-Lek. With a bullish definitely change, can't imagine a day. You didn't got these four-tile thing. What's strange? It's not be allowed for Joe. Can't hold it outside of position. Got stress on my mind, but I got inside.
Starting point is 00:57:22 He ain't going to run. But then you got to think, like, for the rest of the tour, how annoying that may be. Yo, ho's what up? Are you a deal? I forgot how that security guard got off on that, though. Hell, he went nuts. Yeah, he was spitting.
Starting point is 00:57:44 And then there was also something in the backstage. Did we ever find out who that was? Like, what's his name? No. No idea. But even in the backstage DVD, X and Jay weren't there, but there was some waiter, like, concert staff or whatever with the cameras,
Starting point is 00:57:57 were at a restaurant. And some waiter was like, oh, you guys were backstage? and just started rapping and like smoke the shit he looked like he was about to quit his waiter job right there yeah so i respect those that's a classic that's a classic uh classic clip right there i mean cole talks about that when when he found out where hove was going to be and waited outside i think it was baseline waited outside trying to hand him a CD but i mean those those stories are are kind of crazy shit you guys have uh don't oliver on here i remember when don't tulliver has on camera just handled us a
Starting point is 00:58:31 fucking CD in like 2014 It's crazy And had no idea who that was Like he ended up posting it way later Like Yeah it's it's just interesting that Those situations, the people that do come out of them
Starting point is 00:58:45 It's crazy that we have a Because I didn't even see this On the list today But I was thinking earlier Because I was listening to Don To Oliver On my way down to studio today And I was wondering Who's the better
Starting point is 00:58:57 Because I am trying to The same way I, you know, I'm glad that somebody sent me a playlist for me a young boy so I can get into his music and, you know, understand the phenon behind it. Like, we see all these people supporting his artists. And I'm like, God, damn, I'm out of the loop. I never really listened to him. Obviously, I'm on the same side with the Rod Wave thing. I understand he's incredible artists.
Starting point is 00:59:16 He sells out all of his shows and he has a cult following. I just can't really, you know, understand the music and get into it. So I'm on that now with Rod Wave. I want people to send me like, send me some of Rod's best shit, The shit you think that if the first time ever really listened to him, this is what I should be listening to. And I was thinking, because I'm listening to Rod, I'm like, okay, like, yeah, definitely talented and heavy on the melodies, you know, things like that. Sounds good. And I was thinking to myself, who's the better artist between Rod Wave and Don Tolliver?
Starting point is 00:59:47 Because we saw Don Tolliver at Roots. No, no, it was Made in America. Yeah. And he went on right before Bad Bunny. So you can imagine how many people were already there for Bad Bunny. Trying to get a spot. I'm talking about Victoria Monet was probably the first performer that day out there. And it was a bunch of people out there ready to see her perform.
Starting point is 01:00:11 So by this time later night, Bad Bunny's goes on in another 40 minutes. The park is packed. And I'm sitting in. I'm looking at Don Tyler was set. And I'm like, damn. Like, Don is performing joint after joint. Like he's really performing dope records. Like his set was incredible.
Starting point is 01:00:29 The stage production, everything like was incredible. And I'm listening to Rod's music, heavy on the melodies. And I'm listening to Don's music, same thing, heavy on the melodies, things like that. And I'm like, damn, like I like Rod. I like the melodies. But I really like Don Tolliver's music. I think Don't know he has incredible discography. I don't think he's put out a bad album.
Starting point is 01:00:51 I don't think he gets the praise that he deserves. I don't know what his shows do. I don't know. I've never really paid attention to, you know, what his shows do. But seeing him, remember seeing him at Made in America going on right before one of the biggest artists in the world and what he was able to do on that stage. Yeah. Who is the better artist between Rod Wave and Don Tolliver? My preference falls on Don Toller. Rod Wave is one like, I get it.
Starting point is 01:01:18 I understand why he's so popular. It's not all the way for me. I think he's a very talented writer. I think comes up great, great. great melodies. It's just like, you only sound insulting when you do this type of shit. It's more teenage sadness to me.
Starting point is 01:01:34 If I was younger, I feel like I'd probably really, really, really love Rod Wave. But it's, he's great at writing. It's just the content, I think, connects with a younger audience where Don Sullivan is more my age. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:47 So I think Don't Oliver is a better artist. I think he has more range with his writing and his production. Okay. So me personally, but if someone said Rod Wave, like I'm, that's just a personal preference. I don't, I don't think it's a bad debate if somebody's just like, yeah, it's clearly Rod Wave. Does Rod Wave do, does Rod Wave do more numbers at his shows than Don Tolliver? Don't call me.
Starting point is 01:02:11 I want to say they do about the same because I know Rod Wave does arenas by himself, but just pulling up Don't Oliver's 2024 tour. Most of these are all arenas like Barclays. I think Rod Wave did a couple nights at Barclays though. Don Tulliver did one here. But, I mean, they both do arenas. So, you know, it's still relatively close. I think Don Tulliver is underrated. I'm with you.
Starting point is 01:02:37 I do. I'm with him. I'm listening to his albums. Like, he makes really good albums, really good songs. He's taking the Travis Blueprint and heightened it as far as writing and artistry, in my opinion. Yeah. For sure.

Starting point is 01:05:34 Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim? Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam Jay. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
Starting point is 01:05:54 waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of it. the crack. I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you for finishing that sentence.
Starting point is 01:06:15 I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault in Our Stars, and now I guess also as the co-host of The Away End, a brand new world soccer podcast. On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. For us, soccer. Football.
Starting point is 01:06:58 Is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan. I love this game. I love its history, its hope, its heartbreak, and above all, its beauty. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important. Listen to the away end with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the iHeart. Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 01:07:31 I went and sat on the little Ottoman in front of him. Hi, Dad. And just when I said that, my mom comes out of the kitchen. She says, I have some cookies and milk. This is a badass convict. Right. Just finished five years. I'm going to have cookies and milk at my mom.

I feel like it was a little bit unbelievable until I really start making money. It's Financial Literacy Month, and the podcast, Eating While Broke, is bringing real conversations about money, growth, and building your future.
Starting point is 01:08:45 This month, hear from top streamer, Zoe Spencer, and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum-Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. If I'm outside with my parents and they're seeing all these people come up to me for pictures, it's like, what? Today now, obviously, it's like 100%. They believe everything, but at first it was just like, you got to go get a real job. There's an economic component to communities thriving.
Starting point is 01:09:10 If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. And what I mean by fell is they don't have money to pay for food. They cannot feed their kids. They do not have homes. Communities don't work unless there's money flowing through them. Listen to eating while broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast,
Starting point is 01:09:28 or wherever you get. your podcast. What's you? Rolling Loud Orlando lineup, I believe is What's up we going? It's Don't Oliver. Yeah, Don't Oliver is
Starting point is 01:09:42 Headline. Orlando Oatown? Does that what they call Orlando O'Town? We spent my 29th birthday in Oatown together. Did you come out with Weezy and all of us? We had a live show on my birthday
Starting point is 01:09:57 in Orlando. Yes. And then we all went out. What was that big street? Yeah, it was like Bourbon Street of Orlando. It looks like you were in New Orleans. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:05 Shout out to. Say Vaugham was with us that night. And shout out to Weezy from horrible decisions. He's from Orlando and happened to be out there. So she's like, I'm taking you out. We have fun. It's like New Orleans. Yeah, it was cool.
Starting point is 01:10:17 We had a good time. And I feel like that's probably a good city for a rolling loud. Like they have the infrastructure. Like, I feel like that's actually a really good pick for a city to do something like this. But headliners are Don Tulliver, Playboy, Cardi, and NBA Youngboy. Oh, shit. Wait. wait so okay
Starting point is 01:10:35 are we going to NBA young boy night are we going John Tolliver night I think we just go to Friday those are two different nights I just stop it Friday
Starting point is 01:10:43 shout out shout up to NBA young boy though yeah and I'm sure the Playboy Carrey even though his music is not for me I'm sure I would love his live show
Starting point is 01:10:53 like even that last album I am music I thought the production was incredible I didn't even know if he was on it yeah I thought it was a beat tape
Starting point is 01:11:00 I'm sure that would be great live though. Yeah. So yeah, I would see, and I do want to see young boy, you know, from the safety of like a, maybe a box. Yeah, like, put us up there somewhere. Let's, let's go up there. Yeah. But no, it's this cool, because this is the only US one they're doing this year, right? I'm not sure. Yeah, I think that's, this is the only one. So, which is crazy. I like the downtown of a night, belly gang is performing at night. Oh, there we go. All right. Now we have our way in. Yeah, Chief Keefe. Saha baby. okay
Starting point is 01:11:35 we were almost late for our own performance trying to watch Chief Keith yeah I'll tell you word Cardi it's a good a lot of a lot of energy I know that it's gonna be oof yeah it's a lot of energy
Starting point is 01:11:47 out there that night Jesus and with Florida laws anything goes that's gonna be a fucking madhouse to spit us up this way that open carry state yeah just somewhere up there
Starting point is 01:12:00 I don't no matter where as long as it's up there I'll sit there Yeah, NBA young boy in Florida is kind of nuts. Yeah. All right, listen, we can get away from music. We can get back to sports, back to our segment of Spreadum, sponsored by Hard Rock Bet.
Starting point is 01:12:15 It's time to spread them, Rory. It was time to spread them. Listen, man, we both went 3 and 1 last week. Yes, we both went 3 and 1, pick different games, but both ended up at 3 and 1, which that's not a bad weekend for me. It's a great week, man. I think I could go 4 and 0 this week, though. All right, well, let's see.
Starting point is 01:12:29 I think I could spread to 4. Okay. You're going to spread to floor? Okay. Spread for all four. I thought you said you're going to spread the floor. I don't know if you want to do that, but okay. We can start with the bills minus one at the Broncos Mall.
Starting point is 01:12:44 Who are you taking? I'm going to take the bills in this one. Minus one, okay. I think the bills are going to go. We talked about it. This might be Josh Allen's year to probably get all the way to the bowl. Yeah, I feel like all the years he was supposed to go. He didn't go.
Starting point is 01:12:59 And this year he's not. Yeah. All right, we may out the gate just on this one. I think we may agree because I'm taking bills minus one as well. Okay. I think they're beating the Broncos by more. They won. 49ers at the Seahawks.
Starting point is 01:13:11 The Seahawks are minus seven. That's disrespectful. I'm taking the Niners. I'm taking the Niners in this one. I don't know, man. Taking the Niners. I think the Seahawks may win by 10. What?
Starting point is 01:13:25 That's disrespectful. I think that's disrespectful. No way. I'm taking the 49th. I'm going Seahawks minus. I got the four. 49 is by 10. How about that? Really? Hell yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:13:34 You got the 49ers by 10. You are that confident in the 49ers? Absolutely. All right. I'll take the Seahawks minus seven. We have the Texans at the Patriots, Patriots minus three. I'm going Patriots. Yeah, I'm going. Drake May, baby. All the way May. All away May. I know I said the Patriots didn't have a shot of getting there at the beginning of the year. I didn't nobody anticipated Drake May was going to play like this. We didn't expect them. We didn't expect them look like that. Shout Stefan. Biggs been bawling. Listen, man, I got the Patriots. I'm taking the Patriots in this one.
Starting point is 01:14:04 Yeah, I'm going Patriots minus three. I think they win by a touchdown. Yeah. Rams minus four at the Bears. Oof. Now, this one's tricky. Rams minus four. I don't know, man.
Starting point is 01:14:19 I think it's the Bears year. I think the Bears might win by three. I'm going with the Bears. You going to Bears? All right, if you're going to Bears, and I'll take the Rams. If you're going to take the Bears, I'll take the Rams. So we had suggested that loser has some type of punishment that we would do on live stream.
Starting point is 01:14:39 Peach came up with a very funny idea that you have to, punishment is you have to name a thousand rappers before you can get off stream. I cannot name a thousand rappers. I will be on the stream longer than cost and I. I cannot name a thousand rappers. There's no fucking. You can't have your iTunes. You can't have anything.
Starting point is 01:14:54 I don't know, man. Can I phone a friend? Can I phone a friend to run off like a hundred names? Like, you have to earn it. How do I earn it? How do I earn it? I have to name at least, what, 200? Oh, man.
Starting point is 01:15:08 Naming a thousand rappers is not easy. I don't give a fuck with none of y'all. But what are the rules? Like, can I name my mans in them in high school? Nah, you have to. Okay, all right. They have to have at least a mixtape that they put out. Okay.
Starting point is 01:15:21 My friend put out a mixtape. Nobody heard it. It was the block. It went platinum in the hood, right? No, it still flopped in the hood. But it existed. Name it a thousand rappers? I'm down to try.
Starting point is 01:15:33 I'm down to try I think I could knock out 500 pretty easy alright so we so 1,000 name a thousand so we have to live stream it live stream well yeah loser has to get on live stream
Starting point is 01:15:46 and name a thousand rappers before they can get off because at some point I'm gonna need a break and then we're just gonna have to talk and stream yeah because you can't just sit straight and just start running over
Starting point is 01:15:57 now you can go on a nice run you can probably run off 100 150 easily yeah But when you start getting like the 250 range and then you realize I got seven, 800 left to name, that's when it's going to get tough. I think Josh asked Chad GBT yesterday and they could only come up with 800. And that was Chad GBT.
Starting point is 01:16:18 This is what I'm saying, bro. Naming a thousand rappers is hard. But like you said, if you name it like local guys. Yeah, I immediately asked if Benzino was on the list and Chad GBT didn't have them. Okay. So then there is some names that we can run off the chat chat. Yeah. But that's tough.
Starting point is 01:16:35 I'm willing to try, though. I'll try it on live stream. Well, you may not have to. It depends on who loses our spread-em. How wide do you have to spread them, Robbie? How wide? A thousand rappers won. Double wide.
Starting point is 01:16:48 But yes, that was our spread-em segment sponsored by Hard Rock Bet. Maul and I have two disagreements on that one. So we shall see if somebody actually was a losing. Josh, because I ain't trying to name a thousand rappers. I'll let you know that now. Keep tracking my shit. I'm going to get a babysitter that night. That's a, that's a commitment.
Starting point is 01:17:09 Yeah. Yeah, Pige. You lose either way. You have to be here. Yeah, a thousand rap. Or unless you just tell me to hit spacebar when I'm done. I mean, I guess you can just order food and, you know, make a night of it and just, you know,
Starting point is 01:17:19 just sit in until we get as close to $1,000. And no helping. No. No, no help. But I mean, shit. If I know I'm losing, I'm going to try to like memorize my iTunes on the car ride over. Yeah. I'm going through everything.
Starting point is 01:17:32 What do you think is a better strategy, starting? with like going through the A's or just rattling off every rapper that you know. I think trying in alphabetical order. Region. Well, region might be a cool way. Yeah, but once I get outside of the four major cities, I'm fucked. England?
Starting point is 01:17:50 England? Okay, yeah, good next one UK rappers, I guess. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, regions would be a good way to help and then see where you're at after you get through the place. Yeah, because if you go, if you start crossing that Atlantic too early, it's like, bro, you still got mad rapists. I think the best part of that is going to be once we get past 500 and people just start
Starting point is 01:18:11 throwing out names where we have to double check if that's really a rapper or not. Like you just made that up. That's not a rapper. But there's like a hundred Lil's. Yeah. Oh, and wait until I get to my Chicano rap bag. I know all that. Oh, man.
Starting point is 01:18:25 I don't. What about Mr. Caponi? Nothing. Nothing. What's I get to? What you about South Park, Mexican? Once I get to the Js and I go to Jojo. Pellegrino's like that's what you know like I'm just like damn I'm down to
Starting point is 01:18:38 Jojo already like gin yes you can definitely yeah jinn is higher up than we and Jojo pelagrinos we're doing regions and you start thinking Staten Island yeah Jojo's coming up yeah after after the woo we got to all 12 yeah after Wu tank you got to be jojo I feel you could just start saying 5% of words and get at least 10 other Wu Tang members yeah like that would know one that's tough I'm not gonna I'm I think I may be downplaying it like I might be overselling how tough it is. It might be easier than I think. It might be easier than I think.
Starting point is 01:19:08 Especially if you go regions. So yeah, let's try it. Let's try. Luz a ask the name a thousand rappers on live stream. We'll make a night of it. We'll get you some mozzarella sticks, Rory, whatever. We'll get those for baby D. What's harder? 30 mozzarella sticks or 1,000 rappers?
Starting point is 01:19:25 You got to eat 30 mozzarella sticks to get a hint. You'll imagine. You're going to say Brooklyn? Like Brooklyn. He's on Brooklyn. Imagine eating 30 mozzarella sticks while trying to name a thousand rapper. Your stomach just bubbling and you just trying to think. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 01:19:41 Wait till I pull out atmosphere. Oh, my atmosphere. My iTunes is so far back. I was telling them, I think you might have left at that point. You remember the MTV show, like, make me something else? What was the name of it? Maze, where they just like take somebody and like some nerd and make them something else. The rapper that did that one kid, I have songs from Atlas from Arizona on here.
Starting point is 01:20:05 That's how deep I could get my thousand bag. Okay. But you can't use that. We can't look at no list. No, of course not. No nothing. Name a thousand rappers on live stream,
Starting point is 01:20:13 The Loser. Thank you, Harrock, bet. Okay, if I name Eminem and Royce, can I also name bad meets evil? No.
Starting point is 01:20:24 Damn it. That's a group. You can't do that. All right. We didn't even start. We didn't even start. You didn't even start. Name a members already.
Starting point is 01:20:28 Listen, I'm asking the rules. Yeah, man. There's a rule. Rappers, not rap groups. When I pull out Baby Bash, I just don't want to hear. hear anything from anyone.
Starting point is 01:20:37 That is a rapper. When little Troy comes out, I don't want to hear a fucking thing. Listen, do your thing. Well, yeah, shout out to Hard Rock Bet in our spread-em segment. Before we get to voicemails, I do want to send some prayers and strength to our brother corrupt. I'm going through some health issues. I haven't gotten an update in a day or two, but I know Dads was saying, you know,
Starting point is 01:21:00 to keep setting prayers for him. Absolutely. Also, rest in peace, John Forte. The legend John Forte. That was such, that was so just reading that was just like, wow. I'm extremely, extremely close with his nephew, Kyrie, since we were kids, kids. My first ever stunt on anyone was John Forte called my house phone. He was like the first famous person that like was even in my proximity of life was John
Starting point is 01:21:26 Forte. So it was really, really sad news. And ironically, I was on the phone with Kyrie when I fucking saw it. And yeah, it was definitely devastating news for his family, but John Forte, legend is on right. You know, so condolences. Also, rest in peace, actor T.K. Carter, New York Legend. We lost him this week as well, wanted to send prayers condolences to his family and some of my favorite movies growing up. So it was to read that T.K. Carter had passed away.
Starting point is 01:21:54 It hit part of my childhood. It was definitely some of my favorite movies growing up, some of my favorite shows. So rest of peace to T.K. Carter, the legend. Absolutely. Josh, do we have voice mails? You've got mail. These are sponsored by boost. What's good, Rory Amal?
Starting point is 01:22:12 This is James from Staten Allen. Jojo Pellegrino. And I got a music question for y'all. So I'm currently debating with my brother about who I'm in the verses. Trey songs are Neo. Now, for Neo, he can only play just his songs. He can't play
Starting point is 01:22:29 none of the shit that he wrote. I'm on aside that Trey will win. I think Trey's catalog is super underrated. But I just want to get your opinion on it. Peace. So versus NEO against Trey songs? I'm taking Neo. I'm taking Neo as well.
Starting point is 01:22:48 Yeah. I hear him on that there's a lot of like mixtape Trey that I think people overlook. But I don't think it's close. Yeah. In my own words, to you're of a gentleman. Like, what are you doing with both those albums? Yeah. There's like seven hits on
Starting point is 01:23:04 each of those I get what he's saying though But yeah For me a Neo Tray songs version Definitely, uh, Neo.
Starting point is 01:23:10 Yeah, I mean, shit. Then again, I don't know, Tray Day has joints. Ready, which is probably what
Starting point is 01:23:16 Trey's biggest album you would say has the most tape records. Ready alone is tough, tough to deal with, which you're also dealing with Neo. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:24 And then he said like only his songs, not the ones he wrote. Uh, okay. Yeah, still. Neo still got a bag.
Starting point is 01:23:30 Like, you know, hooks with both of them would be great. but Neo still too on the hook side is tough to beat. Let's pull up Neo's Apple Essentials. You pull up, Trace Longs.
Starting point is 01:23:42 The Apple Essentials are always kind of like a bad way to look at shit, but it's closer than I think. I mean, out the gate, Neo is my first thought, and I still think Neo wins, but yeah, it's tough. No, that's what I said. I understood what you're saying.
Starting point is 01:24:01 trade it definitely has a catalog that you probably would overlook when you think versus Neo you know what I mean but again I think that more people would react to Neo songs and the Neo set oh can't be friends tray songs is a fucking incredible record I think with tray though it's like he he owned them like a moment where neos music is is I don't say Tray's music isn't timeless in its own right, but Neo's music is timeless. Like, Trey owned that 09 to 12 era. Like, dude, no, it's inside part two. It's crazy. It's a tough battle. I actually kind of like don't fully know the more I'm looking.
Starting point is 01:24:52 See, but that's not, I need to look at Neos catalog the same way with them looking at you because I'm not going to scrolling all them Tracy's songs records I'm like damn like okay so sick Miss Independent what if because of you
Starting point is 01:25:04 sexy love closer let me love you mad beautiful monster time of our lives hate that I love you with Rihanna
Starting point is 01:25:14 go on girl single do you oh man I yeah I just think part of the list I just think she got her own
Starting point is 01:25:21 yeah it's just it's levels man it's just it's just the level of the song Trayson's list though is he got something And it's joints that I'm reading right here that I haven't listened to it so long.
Starting point is 01:25:31 I'm like, that was that shit. But like running off those Neo songs, I'm just like, okay, I get it now. It's just a different level of songwriting and music. I mean, I could be factoring in the nostalgia of where I was and what was happening in my life with Neo Year of the Gentleman. Personally, personally. But do it, year of the gentleman, can we comfortably say,
Starting point is 01:25:54 it came out in 08, it's now 2026. Can we say that's a classic guy? problem. Definitely. Look at Josh. Josh said 1,000 percent. One thousand. Because it, yeah, of course it was big when it came out and Miss Independent was like the biggest fucking record. But I still, even when it came out, didn't feel like people were giving it the credit. I'll just read off the track list and tell me if there's a skip here. Closer. Nobody's single, mad, Miss Independent. Why Did She Stay? Fade into the background. Still shed tears over that one. So You Can Cry. Great transition from that song. They see
Starting point is 01:26:28 puts this perfectly. Part of the list, back to what you know, lie to me, stop this world. This could be the lie of your favorite R&B albums, though. Yeah. That faded to the background with a lot of shit. That was my shit right there. Right into So You Can Cry? Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. It's just, it'll be dope though. It'll be, that'll be a good listen. Like, to just see, you know, put those two, you know, catalogs against each other. But like, for a Patreon segment, maybe I'll think on it. I want to put a year of the gentleman up against a lot of R&B. albums that are deemed classic and I think I could prove that it's better. If you're looking in
Starting point is 01:27:04 21st century, this should be way higher than it's. I got an idea, Pete, follow me. We got some guests coming for Patreon today joining us. I think this may be a good. Are they well-versed enough in? I would say so. Okay. You would be surprised. I'm just saying you'd be surprised. Okay. I also want to put this out here. Tray Song's ready. panty dropper intro A neighbors know my name I invented sex I need a girl
Starting point is 01:27:34 One love does he do it Say ah L-O-O-Smiley face Underrated dog Nah See that one kind of lost me He lost me with that one That's his Kanye workout plan
Starting point is 01:27:45 Yeah I was kind of like In the mix of all of that All that other shit was so dope It was like that one was a little It was like Ready to Make Love crazy Jupiter Love Be Where You are
Starting point is 01:27:55 Successful with Drake I forgot he snuck that on there Black Roses love loss. This one just has more fat on it than you're the gentleman. But your side of the bed. Fading into the background, though. That was my shit. I burnt that
Starting point is 01:28:11 motherfuckin' song. Damn when that album dropped. And then what's the other Passion Pain and Pleasure? That's the other Trey album that's crazy. Love faces. Bottoms up. Pain can't be friends. I don't like bottoms up. I never like bottoms up. As like just an
Starting point is 01:28:27 outside record? I just never liked it. That was when, That's when Nikki, when Nikki was on her feature run. Yeah, getting what I'm saying. Nikki couldn't miss a feature at that time. I know what it did. I know what it did outside and in the club.
Starting point is 01:28:40 I'm very aware. Me personally, I just never really was like into that record. Was it all in one year that we got Nikki's verse on bottoms up? Dirty money, hello good morning, monster. And then what was the Usher record? Didn't she have an Usher feature? She, her, like we talked about that Wayne feature run in 07. Nikki in 2010 was fucking nuts.
Starting point is 01:29:03 Yeah. Like she overtook every song. It was no longer their song anymore. Was that coming off of Monsters? Monster was 2010. Yeah, so that was like the intro year. Yeah, that set it off. Everybody wanted to like recreate that moment.
Starting point is 01:29:16 Like I need that Nicky. But she went nuts on bottoms up. Yeah. And hello good morning. She went crazy. Mm-hmm. Because yeah, that was 2010 or 2011. Yeah, your feature run in 2010 was.
Starting point is 01:29:27 Yeah. Was nuts. It'd be interesting. That's a good, uh, good, question what was his name I'm sorry James James James that was a really good question and you made me think because out the gate I did want to say Neo confidently but yeah that's one of those it depends how how you sequence it how you perform it like that's going to how you play your hand how you play your hand definitely but that did remind me that year of the gentleman deserves
Starting point is 01:29:51 more flowers absolutely people don't even put that as neos best album I don't think some people do yeah his first album is what people usually say Yeah. Yeah. Shout out to Neo too. He's on Broadway. Um, with Alicia Keys,
Starting point is 01:30:05 I think. I think it's Alicia Keys, right? Well, she has the Hell's Kitchen one, but I don't think he's... Yeah, Neo's in that. Oh, what the fuck? I should have saw it when Neo was on the cast. Yeah. Which role was he playing?
Starting point is 01:30:18 I'm not sure, but I do. I am going to check it out, though. Oh, I mean, I've seen it already, but I'll definitely go again if, uh, if Neo's in the cast. Yeah. No, it's a great. Hell's Kitchen, uh, the play. It's really good. About the building that Timothy, Chalomey, Alicia Keys, and a bunch of other people are from.
Starting point is 01:30:36 Is Timothy in it? Is he going to make a, you think it makes an appearance in it? I know he went to the private screening that they gave to Manhattan Plaza residents. Key Ed went to that one as what Alicia formerly invited all the people she used to like babysit from the building to go see it. So, I mean, I think he's busy, but I know he's supported it already. I'm going to check it out. It's really cool. It's, you know.
Starting point is 01:31:01 they took some creative liberties on it though they tried to make that building seem like the projects I'm like this shit is beautiful I was like I get it you gotta make you got to make the story a little bit better but nah this ain't section 8 yeah

Starting point is 01:32:04 This should be the last. If she's not twerking too much to the J-Code record, so. Twerking to that record after you had a merger. You know, baby D. She's going to find a way to twerk to something. You know, they twerk to whatever they want to twerk to. It only matter if that's the baseline or not. They're going to twerk.
Starting point is 01:32:18 You know that. The slow twerk to them. Yeah, absolutely. In reverse, too. In reverse. In reverse. Well, it's been fun. Great week.
