I was a little bit disappointed with Fear Eyes Only. It did age better than I thought it would. It aged pretty well. Which one was Free Eyes on? Was that the one when he was on the bus rapping? No, well, that never even was on an album. We talked about the False Profit shit. That was just the Lucy.

Fear Eyes Only. What was the biggest record on Free Eyes? Neighbors, yeah. Neighbors was hard when he had the video of the SWAT team coming in to his studio in North Carolina. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. I can't remember the song. I remember the video.

I can't remember. The outro has like the nine minute story about the guy with the daughter, a friend died and all that. It aged better than I thought, but that was the first time I was kind of disappointed with a co-al album. But I'm not nervous. I'm nervous strictly about double disc. Anytime one of my favorite artists do a double disc,

I get a little nervous. That's all. Yeah, I'm nervous, man. Because I know everybody thinks that I'm anticipating to come in and listen to it and hate it. but I really want to like the album. I really want to enjoy it. Yeah, I don't know.

And I think that he's, not to cut you up, baby, but I think that he, I hope that he doesn't make the mistake of trying to rap his way back into our hearts. Like, because just be, you, you're a great rapper. You don't have to, so that's what I'm saying. But this album, I'm like, the way he described the concept,

I don't think you're getting any of what you got on that mixtape with Clue. I think this is just song substance. I don't, I don't think he's going to be a rapity rap it all. Okay. I, um, yeah, I'm not nervous. Like, I was talking to my TikTok live earlier. I'm not nervous about the album. Like I said, Cole doesn't really let me down on albums. The only part about, and I've said this before previously, the only thing I don't like about music coming out that I'm looking forward to is having to come in here on Monday and

talk about it, which is. Well, that's why? Because sometimes I just want to enjoy the album as like a casual fan. I don't like it's now my job to talk about music and sometimes I just don't want to talk about music and then have to hear people's responses to me talking about me. Like I just want to enjoy the album and I have to talk about it. But that's my job. So it is what it is. But like I miss being just like a fan. It's like, oh, I'm just going to go in my room and listen to this and I don't have to hear anybody's opinion on it. And I don't have to give my opinion on it. I don't have to make sure I'm voicing my opinion and getting what I think across in my words the right way and worry about people cutting it up and misinterpreted it.

And like, I just, I just want to be able to listen to music. But, you know. Yeah, I mean, I've gotten that out of sight out of mind for me. I used to feel the same way, but I've made peace with that that can't happen anymore. I can't be a fun consumer anymore and just enjoy music. I'm still a fun consumer. For the stuff we like, I also wish I could be a consumer that doesn't like anything and just keeps it to the motherfucking self. Yep.

Why, though? That's part, that's the beauty in it, though. Like we all get to share our opinions. Because sometimes, I mean, even with artists that I do like, I mean, not every artist, no matter how great they are, are always going to be batting a thousand. And I think it's unfair to any human being to shit on them when every now and then they get something wrong. Like, not in a personal way. I've never done a review that way. But like, sometimes I don't want to shit on my favorite artist.

Like, yeah, I didn't like it either. But this guy or girl has done so much amazing. Why am I going to come in here and just spew negativity? of somebody that has given us decades of amazing material. Now I just got to highlight your bullshit. I think that's just unfair, but it's the gig. I think it's unfair because we only have it for, what, three days before we should talk about it.

And I think that's a little unfair for somebody that took probably three years to record some of this music. I mean, that's here. For us to kind of like. 10 years to record some of it? Yeah, for us to come in three days, 72 hours later and be like, it was trash or it was amazing. I just, I think that's a little unfair.

I think we should be able to. live with it a little more. But I think that it's okay to consume something and then give your opinion on it. First reactions are cool. Yeah. And I feel you on that because I feel that even worse with like Netflix series, somebody spent over a year of their life shooting this. And I literally watched the whole thing in one Saturday and then tweeted,

Yeah. You know what I'm saying? But they don't, you know, they don't take it to account the time and energy it took. I mean, I feel like when we were a little younger

and there was less volume of how many shows were coming out with the streaming thing. We would rewatch series. Like, I've rewatched soprano's wired a million times. I'm going to rewatch. A lot of stuff now, though,

it comes out, even the best shit. Like, I was trying to remind myself the other day to rewatch succession. But then I was like, there's so much should I have to watch and I don't want to rewatch that. That's where I think it sucks for the directors, the actors, and all that.

Music at least has replay value. Like if we love this co-album, we're going to keep playing it and playing it and playing it because music can be replayed. Rarely now do you watch a new series a bunch of times. Like I'm definitely going back to rewatch that. Now, once I find out who the killer was, I moved on. Yeah. Like, Succession is one of the greatest shows, period. and in this time

it's not going to get the same credit I think Sopranos or something like that gets because people rewatch that shit. Bro, the shit would come out on Sunday and you'd rewatch the Sopranos episode that just came out four times the following week before the new one came out.

Like you really just had replay value of the shit. Now you just move the fuck on. The secret is dating somebody that I never seen it before then you got to rewatch it because then it's fun again because they're watching it for the first time. How did you know that baby D?

Because I'm not, like, I anticipate just like putting it on and just like doing shit around the house. Like, I don't want to be, I just want to be, I read the first time I hear it, I have to be reading the lyrics because I care more about the lyrics to anything else. But Cole, like with certain rappers, I hear you. Some rappers, are harder to understand and don't cut through. Cole might be the clearest rapper next to Drake.

Like they both, you can hear everything they're saying. Do we all remember, I do the same thing with Drake too. Do we, especially with Drake? Do we all remember like when we were in school and we all learned what type of learners we are? Some people are visual learners. Some people are audio learners. Some people learn better when they write things out. I learned the best when reading.

So that's why like when I read the lyrics as I'm hearing it, I just, they sit better with me. Now do we think, do we think, Mark, Mark, we're typing them up right now? Like, is it going to be on genius at midnight? No, when you post it to Apple, Apple has. I don't know whether it's AI or whether you submit them, but Apple has the lyrics that play while you... And because that's how I take it music the best. I got it. I can't be hyper-fixated on what I'm listening to. It got to kind of just be, like, playing. And then I'll hear something and I'll be like, damn, that melody is hard. And I'll start the song over. Once I do that, now I'm more into tune to what they're saying.

Because I heard it. I'm hearing the music and I'm like, that got a nice little, you know what I'm saying? I like that melody. I like that beat. I like that rhythm. All right. Well, he's saying right here.

Then I'll start it over because I want to hear what he's saying. So I'm definitely going to be up. But yeah, that's how I listen. I can't, I can't, because if I sit down and just like, this is the only thing I'm focused on, the music doesn't really, it doesn't really connect to me. Like, it takes longer for it to connect to me like that as opposed to I'm moving around. I'm doing shit, whether I'm cleaning or, you know, working out.

Like that's why I'm working out is or when you're traveling, flying, like that, you know, stuff like that. Walking through the airport, you listen to shit like that. I listen to no bullshit. I don't know how and why I connect to music like that. But definitely playing it low while I'm sleeping and just letting it loop. Definitely one of the best ways for me to listen to music.
