Starting point is 00:01:56 I appreciate that. I'd be seeing it, but I'm like, man, I still got like, so much more to do. Like Prince, he dropped like 30 albums. We dropped like five right now. Like, that's the rate we got to be going. Yeah, that's a good attitude.
Starting point is 00:02:08 No matter the era, Drink Chams brings you the biggest names and the most unfiltered conversations. Listen to Drink Chams from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Yeah, that wasn't a purpose. That was just my outfit. And now, some things are marketing. Sometimes that's just who I am as a human being.
Starting point is 00:03:04 That's who we are, and that's our start. We are welcome back to another episode of the new Rory and Moll podcast. I am all. I'm Rory. And Rory, today we are joined by a very funny guy, fresh off of winning Kevin Hart's funny as fuck comedy special on Netflix. That's how guys over at Netflix. We have the very funny, very talented, very unique. Ron Taylor in the building today.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Ron, pleasure to meet you. Pleasure to have you by the studio today, man. Good brother. Appreciate it, man. This is a nice setup you guys have here. I appreciate it. Ron, man. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:03:40 We're trying to do a little something, man. You know, before they cancel us and we have to go back to the stock room at Whole Foods. But, you know, no, you guys have come a long way. Even I know that. With laugh mics, you can get it done at Whole Foods. Yeah, yeah. Great content of waiting. If we unload boxes, we can do a whole box.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Just let me with my laugh if I got to go back to nine to five and get the streaming going from my job. But how are you feeling, man? How's New York been treating you? Man, you know, it's been pretty. I think any place is more enjoyable when you get some money in your pocket. Oh, man. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:12 Yeah. There's some places that really suck. You get to enjoy the air smells different. Yeah. Yeah. You go sightseeing a little bit. Yeah. You appreciate the culture of the city.
Starting point is 00:04:22 Or you, and you're just a little bit less scared. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All that. Access. Two places I've been with no money. Just, I don't know, haphazardly.
Starting point is 00:04:34 And it made me kind of. really not like those places. And that's Chicago and New York. Well, if you ain't got no money in Chicago, yeah. Yeah, that can, you can experience a different part of Chicago that you've never seen. Michael Jordan never saw this part of Chicago. They went crazy with the redlining in Chicago.
Starting point is 00:04:51 It's literally just a line. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But New York has been good to you. Man, it's been great. You know, came out here, did the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Shout out to Jimmy Fallon, good guy. Yeah, got to see the seller. I had went to the cellar years ago, and I don't think they had as many rooms as they do now,
Starting point is 00:05:12 but just like three, four rooms at the cellar. When did that happen? I've been to the cellar probably a year ago. And it's not just the main one in the basement? Correct. There's like different rooms now. Apparently they just bought a McDonald's, and they're going to make like a fifth room. Oh, the West Forth McDonald's.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Probably next to a village underground. Okay. All right. So that McDonald's on West Fourth was legendary. Like iconic. Like that's where all the. would fight at like 2 a.m. No, I'm not making this up.
Starting point is 00:05:39 That is the most iconic McDonald's. Like, when that shut down, that was like, that was like pulling the Empire State building out of New York City. That's an iconic McDonald's or a world. That West 4th one. Now, at least it's going to good use, though.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Why would lesbians fight there of all places? You'd have to talk to the lesbians. I was just there for the show. They probably just bombed at the cellar. But yeah, Comedy Cellar owns Village Underground, which is right next to that. McDonald's, which is also iconic spot outside of comedy for music, the village underground,
Starting point is 00:06:09 is great. The blue note, just that whole area, that, like, L block is iconic, not just for fights, but for art. Yeah. For art. The art of the city. Not the heart of the city, the art of the city. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:21 And the most iconic basketball course, right? Like, yeah, it's just a cool block. Yeah. Yeah, I've been seeing all that stuff, too, like the bags. I don't know, maybe just this go around this trip. Like I said, my eyes were more wide open. Like, I saw the basketball. I was like, oh, there's probably a young Kyrie there right now, you know.
Starting point is 00:06:38 I see the hot dog people. And I was like, I'll try a hot dog. Yeah, yeah, yeah. When I was last year, I was like, I ain't spending nothing on nothing. You're on a different budget. These kids need to get the fuck out of my way playing basketball. None of y'all going to make it. I love Ron's budget now that he has money.
Starting point is 00:06:54 He said, I'm going to buy a hot dog and I'm going to watch a free basketball game. Yeah, yeah. That's how you do. Step it up crazy to shit. The budget is wide open. I can get a hot dog. Catch them and mustard. It's just enough money and not be angry.
Starting point is 00:07:09 I've been angry a lot, bro. Oh, listen, trust me. You know? Nothing goes hand-in-hand like poverty and anger. Yeah. Oh, boy. It makes sense now. When you go to certain cities, like, I get it.
Starting point is 00:07:19 I understand why these people are upset and angry. Yeah. Like I said, Chicago, I was like, I was there with no money. I was like, yeah, I want to kill people too. Yeah. No, it checks out. Everybody who look like me. Where they at?
Starting point is 00:07:31 I had to get up out of there. But I'm going to go to Chicago. next, you know. I've got a budget of all my bills are paid and I've got $200. Oh, it's life's very rich. Life is life is great. As long as your bills are paid, life is great. Yeah, you get deep dish pizza now
Starting point is 00:07:45 in Chicago. Yeah, yeah. But there's the place that everybody tells you not to go in Chicago. So I would imagine New York has a place like that, right? Not to go to? Where it's like, oh, don't go there. That's the tourist pizza. Who knows? Is there some shit
Starting point is 00:08:01 like that? I think it's called. Is the tourist steep dish one. But where you were at West 4th, Joe's, Joe's is a good spot. That's a good slice. Yeah. John's a bleaker's one block over. Yeah, there's a real good people. Patsy's is a little further uptown in Manhattan, Harlem. Well, not Harlem.
Starting point is 00:08:16 No, Patsies is Harlem, right? Technically. Yeah. At this point, for gentrification purposes, now it is. Linda Street is probably the best slice in the city right now. They're right up the block. Linden Street? Linda Street. Yeah. Okay. It's probably one of the best slices. Actually, yeah, Ryan, we got to make sure we get him a slice before he leaves.
Starting point is 00:08:34 That'd be wonderful. Yeah. So, New York, we always got a good, a good slice. But New York and Chicago, we've had this rivalry of best slices for a few years. And I still think we have the best slice, but, you know. For those that, okay. Yeah, no, the best pizza I've had, and this is just personally, I can't say. Don't say Jets.
Starting point is 00:08:52 No, no, no. I like Jets. I love Jets pizza, though. No. Those that don't know, Ron is from Detroit. Yeah. Well, I mean, apparently, Detroit has great pizza. They do.
Starting point is 00:09:02 didn't know until like a few years ago some list came out and i didn't even know there was detroit style i thought we just did pizza in square for some reason but detroit style is apparently like middle between the middle deep dish and whatever yeah but the best pizza i had was near the comedy not comedy store the cellar some green place it's just it's probably just a random pizza place but it's like right on the corner bleakishrew pizza I just know the motif is green and it's right by the cellar. Yeah, probably bleakest street.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Is that it? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, Bliggist Street is good. Yeah, that's the best pizza I ever had. Bligestry Street got a good piece. They got a good slice. Just that whole area is good pizza. Yeah, that's good pizza. But I've noticed, like, the last three or four years,
Starting point is 00:09:53 the most pizza spots I see opening in New York are Detroit style. Like, that's becoming a theme in New York. Yeah, big-ass sign, Detroit-style pizza. I wonder. I mean, because it's all right to me. Yeah. Well, you guys stole Coney Island from us. So I think we had to return the favor.
Starting point is 00:10:09 I don't think that was a theft. I think that was some white people doing stuff with some things, you know. We were migrating. Well, so y'all don't even have a Coney dog, right? There's no Coney dog out here. Well, we have Coney Island, which is Nathan's. We have a Nathan's, the first, the original Nathan's is in Coney Island. But the coney dogs in Detroit are based off
Starting point is 00:10:33 Coney Island though, right? I'm not sure. I don't know. I just know, but y'all don't put chili and Nathan's does. Yeah. Onions and mustard? Yeah, Nathan's does that.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Nathan's the original. Huh. Coney dog, yeah. Well. Yeah, I'm sorry. More you know. I didn't know that, man. You know, I thought.
Starting point is 00:10:53 The first time I went to Detroit, I was like, why is Coney Island everywhere? Yeah, I mean, I thought that was weird, too, for the longest house. But, you know, you don't question Detroit game. gangsters? You just let them do what they want to do. I don't do what they go.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Thank you for having me. Salute to Trick, Trick. Yeah. But for those that haven't seen the funny AF series, how does the comedy competition stuff work? So you mean this competition or just in general? Well, this and in general. Well, normally a competition will take place
Starting point is 00:11:26 and whether you win it at the end or not, nothing really happens. And, you know, it's just another thing you did. At best, you'd win some money, you know, and that'd be it. This one, and I've been saying, I don't think anybody, maybe Kevin Hart, if that, I don't think anybody knew that this show was going to be as big as it ended up being. For a few reasons, number one, there's no comedy competition we've ever seen that was unfiltered. right if you watch what was the ag t or whatever you know that was filtered comedy so this is the first
Starting point is 00:12:06 one of its kind last comic standing last very very filter yeah right this one i mean one of my last jokes was about dicks or something you know just something you wouldn't normally got to get it done you know dick jokes brother that's that's that's what we got bills you know but this one at the end it pretty much not pretty much it absolutely gave at the very least the top four a brand new entire career right so uh i got the call or the email about signing up you know you sing your tape in which all of these things i had done a thousand times right up until winning even winning i've done a bunch of times and it's normally just some prize money yeah this one it wasn't no prize money it was a whole career but you sign up they say yeah come do that in front of us and I did it in
Starting point is 00:13:02 Chicago and then they say hey you did great we're gonna move you to L.A. and I did it in L.A. and then after that point it was the rose it was the rose the topical the semifinals and the finals and it was it was hard man because everybody there was was great we had been burning material throughout the entire course of the show that's what I want to to ask you. I want to ask you. I want it for a comic because with the internet and things like that, we talk about all the time how rappers used to go to a radio station and have, you know, 40 bars to spit. But they would take that same 40 bars and go all over the country with it and spit the same thing over and over and over before the internet where they could post a clip and
Starting point is 00:13:45 everybody would hear the verse. Red roof, white ceiling. Right. There you go. There you go. How was it? Every market loved it. Yeah, no, every market loved it. But how is a comic? Is it, is it, is it, how difficult is it to move into these different cities in a competition and have these judges or these people in front of you and keep coming up with different material? Well, in this type of competition, which again, first of its kind, but in this type of competition, I don't think anybody's coming up with material in that competition. Maybe somebody can do that, but I don't think anybody would have wanted to do that in this one because everybody was so seasoned.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Okay. So if you're doing brand new jokes and somebody else is doing, you know, try it and true jokes, you might not make it. Now, of course, we're talking about reactions, audience reactions. If you make something up on the spot and it's the funniest thing ever, then so be it. Do you want to run that risk? Right. But to answer your question, it's like, as a comedian, it's your job to come up with material, right? And try to make people laugh different ways.
Starting point is 00:14:53 but as a comedian, your jokes are a tool. The point is to make people laugh. The jokes are just a tool to get that done. So however you go about getting the job done, so be it. But these tools we call jokes normally work like, you know, they're your most reliable tools. So I don't think people are, I don't think anybody will come up with new jokes for that competition.
Starting point is 00:15:19 But, you know, you definitely want to keep writing because you never know when you have to do a special. You know, you never know when doing this 30 minutes is going to have you win a competition. So keep writing. What was the American Idol type moment on that finale when you were standing on stage? Okay. What do you mean by American Idol type? When Kev was announcing the winner.
Starting point is 00:15:44 How nervous were you? I wasn't nervous at all. Really? Come on. Did you already know, like, Ron, this is life changing. You got to be a little nervous up there at this point. Because I think there was the rumor that the Clay Aiken, Ruben Stutter, like, they knew the results already. I don't know about that.
Starting point is 00:16:00 But you said it's life changing. That's the point. That's why I wasn't nervous. Because in my mind, two things. One, I didn't think I was going to win. Yeah. The whole competition has been, Usama. They are chanting this man's name while they're reading.
Starting point is 00:16:21 Osama? Yeah. So I'm just thinking. He got rid of him a few. years ago, didn't we? Okay, no, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:16:27 No, he's back and he's hilarious as ever. Yeah. Listen. And doing MVP chance. Yeah. Look at the world. They're chanting his name, right? So there's that.
Starting point is 00:16:37 That's number one. Number two, again, I don't know what's going to come after this. Okay. You just, in my mind, after this, you just win a special. But like, you know, I know a bunch of people who've gotten specials. And it's a job in mind. Got you. Gotcha. Okay. So there's that. I didn't think I was going to win.
Starting point is 00:16:57 And my mind is, I don't want to say just a special, but it's a special, which like we're all going to get if we keep doing comedy. Okay. It wasn't until Kevin Hart announced it and I don't know how I missed them the whole time, but I'm seeing all my friends and whatnot in the crowd and people standing up clapping and kind of crying and stuff. And I'm hearing Kevin Hart voice kind of crack. I'm like, what the fuck is this? Yeah. Is it? Did I miss something?
Starting point is 00:17:26 And then I almost, you know, because of just the love of what was going on. But at no point that I understand the gravity of what was going on. Got you. When I won that, which was what, May 5th? What month are we in? May, March. Just got the June. Just got the June.
Starting point is 00:17:42 What was last month? May. May. May. May 5th? I didn't think I was going to be here earlier that day, May 5th. Yeah. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:17:50 So it's still sitting in. I was not nervous only because I didn't know none of this was going to happen. Right. Right. But hey, fuck it. I'm glad it did. It definitely happened, man. What was some of the things that you got to talk to Kev about, like, along that way?
Starting point is 00:18:06 Like, as another black, arguably the most successful black comedian of all time. And you now winning his competition. Did I ever, you ever had much one-on-one time with Kev to just kind of like pick his brain a little bit? No, I ain't had too much one-on-one time, but, you know, interestingly enough, I've been around them a few times just from being in the industry. What he said to me and us during the competition or kind of what he displayed was just like, he's a workhorse. Yeah, absolutely. Anybody who, like, thinks that they can get what they, what Kevin has just by, no, he has a work ethic that, like you some people wouldn't be able to comprehend let alone do right like he's non-stop moving when he's
Starting point is 00:18:58 at least in the time that I spent with him when he says it's going to do something he does it and then like so just that by itself that's a whole like gift and skill by itself but like I've been around Kevin quite a bit matter of fact I was a door guy at the comedy store yeah right and he came into the comedy store and you know he had this writer hit chicken and all this type of shit in the back and the door guys like vultures who you're just waiting to leave because there's no way there's going to take all this stuff yeah yeah right and baron davis was back there with kevin hart and i just did a uh a project with baron david okay so now all of the door guys looking at me like yo go back there yeah come on man let's get this and i'm like not doing shit yeah finally they leave and we just
Starting point is 00:19:45 swarmed and we just like took all this alcohol and chicken and stuff like that to like little things like that Kevin has just been around helping people you know I'm gonna leave it's not advice it was not going to give you advice but he's gonna get you drunk and full of chicken yeah man you know if you're vultuous enough you know you go out there and I still got the uh the box somewhere yeah Hennessy privilege it was empty but I took the box and no one can if he probably leave that on purpose like I'll leave these for the peasants yeah let the Left him feast. Yep, yep, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Also, I'm not aware. Does Baron Davis do a lot in the comedy scene? He has over time. I don't know about this moment right now. Oh, yeah, brother Baron, he's great. He did a show that I was a part of called WTF, Baron Davis. Barron is pretty funny. A lot of these NBA players are funny to tell you the truth.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Barron is funny, though. Baron is a very funny guy. He's done a lot of things throughout the years in California throughout the city. Like he definitely is somebody that gives back to the city and does things. So shout to BD. He was on Neil and Moshe's podcast. Talk about being abducted by aliens between Vegas and L.A. And it was the funniest fucking story I ever.
Starting point is 00:20:56 So I hear you. Baron Davis is fucking L. No, Bidi, that's my God, man. I finally got through to Mall, but Ryan, Pige, DeMaris, Kyle in the back, Boost Mobile is proving that you don't have to overpay for great wireless. I know that's who you guys are doing. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Chavari, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture.
Starting point is 00:24:44 I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull. It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though. Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that. As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, listen to American Football as part of the My Coutura Podcast Network, available on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Hoda Kotby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Together, we're going to have meaningful conversations with the world's most fascinating people, like when actress Olivia Munn shared how she overcame fierce health challenges, I've gone through breast cancer and then helped my mother through breast cancer, and that was more difficult. There's a lot of people who understand postpartner depression. I was not prepared for postpartum anxiety. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. My first guest is Harris Hilton, Shakira, Luke and Yerrin, Samira and Gracie. I'm so excited.
Starting point is 00:25:51 On the bouncy bed. You have surprises? Any surprises? Welcome to Sweet 305 where the group chat comes to life. What a . It's like a way to say like, oh, my God, hello, my friend, hello, her man.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Look, I never have to have ever been to have nobody. Except with my my kids, my kids, I know. I'm a man. Oof, yeah. That's incredible, yeah, the telenovela. You're the only person I know that loves
Starting point is 00:26:20 a Yellow Starburst. It's, oh, man, no. There's no, there's a person that you like you say, I'd like to collaborate with this person. This is Sweet 305.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Listen to Sweet 305 with Lelepons as part of my Coulthura podcast network on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. So what's next?
Starting point is 00:26:46 Now you did Fallon. Post the Root show too. Post the Root Show, The Roots Picnic. How was that for you? How was doing Fallon? Oh, you mean Roots, the whole GZ thing.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Yeah. Oh, right. Right, right, right. Fallon was great. I don't want to say luckily or fortunately. Let's say fortunately. Fortunately, I had just seen the roots at the Kevin Hart Rose. Yeah. Right. So from winning the thing, I got to go to the roast and that was cool. So it was like, oh, yeah, I remember you. Probably didn't. But, you know, I was there. But Fallon was great, you know. For reasons, I didn't, you know, I kind of felt in the moment like, oh, man, this is good. it went a lot better. But when I saw it, I was like, no, that was, that's what it was supposed to be. But, you know, just as a comic, as a performer of any sort, you're like, you want everything
Starting point is 00:27:39 to be perfect. And so that was, that, that was great. And then seeing it, you know, I was glad of the outfit choices I've made. Because I definitely was going to go another way. Yeah, I probably would have wore this. So it's like, suits always play well. Yeah. That was just the only color they had at men's suit warehouse.
Starting point is 00:27:58 Okay. Yeah, it was a bright blue. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You made it work. But all of that was wonderful. And then Brother Questlove came up to me and said some nice words afterwards and said, hey, you know, good stuff. And apparently all of the roots are like fans of comedy. I mean, I know for fact, Quest is a super, super stand-up fan.
Starting point is 00:28:20 Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that was wonderful, man. And, I mean, at some point, I'm going to realize what's going on and probably have a heart attack like Jesus, but right now I'm in it. Yeah. You know, so even to be on this couch not stumbling and sweating and stuff, it's like, is a man. This is a very easy environment.
Starting point is 00:28:41 And we have central air. We like to talk shit, man. Yeah, we have central air. We got you some water. Got you some Coca-Cola, whatever you need, man. I mean, not to say that I could speak to like any crazy level of success, but that's usually how it goes. The things happen and you live in the moment and you don't ever actually realize it
Starting point is 00:28:56 until the next one. Well, you've been moving. And then it continues. Since the win. You're just going to keep moving and it's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:03 I mean, I guess there won't be a heart attack moment. Well, it'll just continue to just be like, oh, this is life now. Yeah. Yeah. I mean,
Starting point is 00:29:09 getting noticed and stuff like that, picking up because like I said, this shit, Ron. How's the pussy, man? How's the thing? Yeah. I mean,
Starting point is 00:29:17 that's where I was trying to be nice about it. Where is the pussy meter at right now? Where are we at right now? We have tank. Where are we? That's a good question. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:25 And respectfully, if that's what everyone's into, It's Pride Month. Yeah. I just, I know, no, I want to be,
Starting point is 00:29:30 I include everyone. I just, oh, this is, it's good. It is good. It is good. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:33 That's your special. You won't in Mayfitt. My birthday made for it. Yeah. That's funny. What would you say if, if the pussy meter went up, but it's all old pussy.
Starting point is 00:29:46 What's that? Where's that land? They know how to move. Yes. Old pussy has less expectations. They've been through the, they know what time it is. New pussy is looking.
Starting point is 00:29:57 looking for reasons to say, hey, we're fucking to the public. Yeah, but old pussy fuck you differently when it's success, though. When you're successful, they start doing things for you that you ain't never had them do before. And they fucked a lot of successful people. Yeah. So they know what time it is. I don't think the ones that I have fucked a lot of successful.
Starting point is 00:30:15 I might be. Oh, you just mean in general, old pussy. Yeah. I thought you meant like old pussy that chase is famous people. Oh, no. Not old and age. Oh, your old pussy. Oh, your old pussy.
Starting point is 00:30:25 Oh, okay. Pussy from the past. Past. Let's see. Yeah. I thought like old groupies. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:30:31 He's talking about the woman he knows already. Like the bitches have been going to the comedy sellers since the 80s. No, no, no, no, he's just my fuckers? No, no,
Starting point is 00:30:39 no, not them. I mean girls from my past. I, I ain't ran into no new ones. I probably, I ain't really got the energy. I don't think I got the testosterone
Starting point is 00:30:48 to deal with some new ones right now. But. I feel you. Yeah, I'm not proud of it. I need to do some push-up. I'm with you. I need to eat right.
Starting point is 00:30:58 Because I can fill it in my mind. It's like I remember. Like I found an old notebook of mine. Like when I started comedy, I started at like 18. And I'm looking at the jokes in there. And I'm like, what a fucking horn dog I was. Yeah. I was like the incredible Hulk.
Starting point is 00:31:15 Yeah. And then I look at those jokes and I think about life now. And it's like, bitch, get out of here. Move it. Why tonight? We just fucked yesterday. Again? I'm not proud.
Starting point is 00:31:27 of it because I was I feel like I was a better, smarter, faster person when I, but I ain't got it, though. Yeah. No, my testosterone in that area is completely gone. Mall won't fuck fans because of moral reasons. I won't fuck them because I don't want to ruin the image that they have of the show. What? That's ridiculous. That doesn't mean difference at all.
Starting point is 00:31:48 What do you, first of all, what do you mean moral? Moral what? Moral to who based off of what? And you, the image of the show? Fuck the show. Ain't the show for pussy? Like, that's what life is about. Success is for bitches. Not for a more year.
Starting point is 00:32:04 Strange pussy. Look, y'all know more than me. I can't tell you nothing, but... Like I said, somebody getting fucked. It just happened to be people from the past. Yeah, yeah. Y'all ain't fucking nobody. So as the old pussy said, like,
Starting point is 00:32:18 I always believed in you? Is that now they're... No. They don't even... They just said, like, yeah, that's what's up. You know. This is my ticket out. I thought she was cool.
Starting point is 00:32:30 At a seven mile. Yeah. I thought she was funny. Yeah. Yeah. You know. But I was dating a young lady. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:32:41 Last year. She dumped me. And, you know, I've ascended to some degree. She still don't give a shit. Which I can commend her for that. That's the one for you. She's standing strong. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:55 Fuck. I don't want to say all that. Whatever. Fuck that bitch. She's not going to watch this. She doesn't even watch TV. This bitch wanted to go out and do it. This bitch is just her mind don't work right.
Starting point is 00:33:08 Yeah. You know, she can't even understand like, oh, I can use this guy to get what I want. Yeah. She can't put that together. Her brain, it don't work right. Yeah. But, you know. You're trying to convince a girl that you're a trick is the funniest thing in the world.
Starting point is 00:33:23 You know how dumb of a girl you got to be to convince her. that you would trick. Yeah. But she got all the special stuff with the mind, you know, taking all the mad. Beautiful part of the spectrum. Yeah. Spectrum, there it is. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:33:35 She's just, the bitch just. Yeah. Hey, but you know, more power to her. She's gone, so now I'm fucking all the other ones. Yeah, yeah. And they, I mean, getting calls for money, which is wild because it's like, who told you I got money? Money, right.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Where y'all get this from? How y'all just assumed that? I didn't have one to ask me for money. Like, Can I borrow this? And then before the repayment day, borrow more. I said, this basic math. You can't do that.
Starting point is 00:34:03 You don't pay you back with the money she just borrowed. Man, she ain't paying shit back. You won on May 5th. This, what, June 2nd? Yeah. People don't understand what net 30, 60 and 90s. We signed our serious deal five years ago. And there was a report of how much money we made.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Yeah, yeah. And the amount of text messages I said, I said, Serious is a net 60 company. I'm broke Can I borrow some money? Oh my God Well you need them out net 30 or 60 I got net nothing There was no money attached to the show
Starting point is 00:34:38 This is the pride I get to be here You know I get to hang out All the clothes I wore Like that was part of wardrobe Right Because of the Kevin I took a lot of them
Starting point is 00:34:51 But you know Keep that shit Oh no you have to steal from wardrobe Yeah yeah Yeah Kev got it Yeah. You'll be right. Yeah. So to answer your question, yeah, the holes, they from the past, and I'm happy that
Starting point is 00:35:02 they're back in my life. So you're a spin the block guy. Yeah. I'm going to spend the block guy too. Now I am. I don't really like new people. That's my thing. I got dumped by the bitch I thought I was going to be with and her reason was like, well, this was her reason for real. She said, well, what if it did end? It would be so sad. She ended it because it could end. Now, she should win the next season of Netflix. Kevin are funny as far. She might be funny as far. As someone that has gaslit and women before, I need to steal that way.
Starting point is 00:35:35 Break that. This bid said it could end. Right. And that would be sad. So we might end it now. You know, what are you going to do? Yeah, what's your response to that, Ron? How do you respond to that?
Starting point is 00:35:48 If she was normal, I'd probably cuss her out and stuff. But like I said, like, you know. She's special. There's times she manic. Yeah, yeah. You know, like, this bitch don't even understand. Like, I got money now. She only, she got no concept of that.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Like, if it were me, I'd be like, all right, let me just act like this to get some bills paid. She's just out, gallivanting, probably speaking in a megaphone at the beach to nobody. She does that. She does that. Everyone has their journey. Yeah. To get a megaphone and just yell at people. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:24 At the beach. How did you meet her wrong? The comedy store. That's probably the issue. Okay. Yeah. They're all not well. Myself included.
Starting point is 00:36:35 But, you know. But it's fine. What are you going to do? Sometimes that's all it is. Sometimes that's all it is. How do I ask this in a non-messy way? Because I don't want to know names. All right.
Starting point is 00:36:47 The same way with any industry, whether you're at work in corporate, whether you're doing podcasts, whether you're working a music label. everyone's fucking everybody. That happens naturally. It's like prison. You're in the same place, people are going to fuck. Right. With comedians, because all of you have very interesting brains.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Yeah. Oh, my God. I can only imagine how messy it gets when comedians fuck comedians within a green room. It has to be way different than Wall Street or any other job because you guys all have very interesting chemical. in your brains. Yeah. Yeah. Like anything else, it's like how you go at it, right? Who you deal with, how you navigate throughout life. Now, I've tried to go throughout life, you know, relatively
Starting point is 00:37:38 cautiously. And with this last young lady, I remember, I was like, say, bitch, what? Where'd you get the megaphone? Where, okay, we both in this world, what comedians. Yeah. Have you been with? Shoot, I'm not telling you that. I said, bitch, what comedians? Yeah. We in here.
Starting point is 00:38:00 They have to intro me. Right. Yeah. I'm not telling you that. I said, all right, fine. It don't matter. Right. Long as it wasn't.
Starting point is 00:38:07 This one, this one, this one. I had a short list of five. Right. Long as it needs five, I don't really care. Yeah. Time go on. We get close, you know. I'm starting to love this bitch.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Yeah. Right? Yeah. Out the blue, she's like, hey, remember that list of, A five. I might have been with one. I said, bitch,
Starting point is 00:38:28 no you, no you didn't. No, you didn't. I asked you. I asked you specifically. I asked you about this five. Mita is funny.
Starting point is 00:38:37 I asked you about this five. Mita is hilarious. I might have had the, you, you better make sure. Yeah. And when I asked her, she said,
Starting point is 00:38:46 no, I didn't say no. I just didn't say nothing. So when I said, along there wasn't this five. she just stayed silent. Which all right bitch fine.
Starting point is 00:38:58 I think after that it was probably never going It was probably never going to work Yeah it's the best thing I just think it's funny that Ron is talking to her like that And he dresses the way he dresses There's definitely some pimps shit
Starting point is 00:39:08 I don't know right I just think it's funny He wanted truth out of the megaphone You yell and everything else Some accountability may need to come on your side It was the megaphone girl That's fair That's fair
Starting point is 00:39:22 man but you know it was just god damn bitch my brothers yeah like you got to think i know a lot of people in comedy right if i said along as you ain't fuck this five right these got to be people close to me yeah i'm like well they didn't mention anything when you was falling in love they didn't know when you was standing next to her with another megaphone i'm with her no no they didn't know but i i say all that to say you know you can run into situations like that when it comes to you know calm and love and all that type of stuff. And like anything, it'll get messy. But the more precautions you take, the better off you'll be.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Like, if you marry it, then you probably, you're great. Like, just get out the game. You know, if you got you a long-term girl, just or guy, just get out the game. But, you know, there's no different from school. Yeah. You know, or athletics. Everybody fucking the same one. You only see the same 30 people.
Starting point is 00:40:20 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Eventually everyone's going to start fucking. Yeah. Just human nature. And I'll be real with you, brother. With my newfound success, you know, there will be people who try to come into the fray.
Starting point is 00:40:34 And I'm letting them. The fray. I'm not afraid. You know, just trying to get in. And it's an old run. And I'll come on. I've wanted you for a decade now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:45 I have my eye on you. Go ahead. Let's do it. I don't care of the reason why you now like me. I'm fine with that. I don't care. What's your price? Now,
Starting point is 00:40:54 uh, what's your price? Let's get this out the way. Because once I got a bit of know the ride, I was like, oh, yeah. You don't have to like me. Yeah. Um, coming off with the Kevin Hart comedy roast,
Starting point is 00:41:07 there was a lot of like little pockets of, you know, people feeling some way about some of the jokes that were told and things like that. Did you have any like feelings leaving it, leaving the roast? Like, oh, people are definitely not going to like this. And does any of that make sense to you because it? it is all at the end of the day comedy?
Starting point is 00:41:25 It makes sense to me just because I'm aware of how people operate when it comes to and react, yeah. Comedy or anything for that matter. There was nothing that I heard that my brain registered while there that I thought was too crazy other than the dead husband stuff. Sure, Underwood. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:45 But then, you know, at the same time, like, I know how these things operate. So I know they actually called each other. If it's all right or her, then it is what it is. But the biggest thing was the Tony Hinchcliffe George Floyd joke. Yes. And the crazy part about that one is I didn't realize he said, looking up, which is such a, like a little thing, but it changes everything. Yeah. So he said George Floyd is in hell.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Yeah. Which as a writer, brother, bravo. I mean, because it just went right over my head. And it changes so much of the joke. But that's, again, that's what Tony does. Tony is a, I've known him for a long time. You know, he's given a lot of people opportunities. He can, I mean, his show killed Tony.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Like every other week, he's given a whole other person a career. Yeah. Right? Now, whatever you think about him or the people he gives a career, that's a whole different story. but they asked Tony to come on that show and be Tony. Right. And they're asking to do a backflip. Right.
Starting point is 00:42:53 You know, so it was what it was. But, you know, I've said this a few times. Like, it's fine. It's easy to get mad at Tony for joking about something that wasn't real. Right. What about Derek Chauvin? Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:43:08 This nigga did it. Right. Right. What about all the other people that's like kicking ass out there? This skinny, effeminent. you know, gay-looking dude. Yeah. It's just making jokes about, I don't even know if he believes in God.
Starting point is 00:43:24 Right. So what does he care about heaven or hell? Right, right. But it's, you know, again, we enjoy that. We enjoy attacking people. And when I say we, I mean, just society period, like if there's something we can go at, we'll go at. When the last time you called into the radio and said, I love that song? Right.
Starting point is 00:43:40 Never. Yeah. Right. So people call in to say what they dislike. What they disliked. Yeah. Yeah. But, I mean, it just didn't because, again,
Starting point is 00:43:47 you know, shit, that even goes to what's viral with podcasting. I could talk about all the things I like. None of that shit is going to go viral. Right. I say, I dislike something. Numbers. Yeah, I mean, and that's how it goes. We're just fucked up, but.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Long as one is aware of, like, of that, you know, aware that talking about what you don't like and then maybe even being able to do it in a positive way, you know. I don't know. I didn't like how Chelsea Handler handled everything. afterwards, but I really enjoyed her set. And to your point of Tony being perceived as the feminine, man, I think she smoked that whole,
Starting point is 00:44:23 you guys had Trump on your podcast and, all right, go fight the fucking war then, guys. Why are we sitting here? I thought that was like, I thought everyone kind of got their jokes in. It wasn't one-sided to me. So that's where I feel like it is what it is at that point. Yeah, I didn't get some of the stuff that Ms. Chelsea did afterwards.
Starting point is 00:44:44 but, you know, what do I know? Right? I'm the newest guy there. But I do know that people's reaction afterwards was an opportunity for like a second win of some type of virality. And maybe that is what she felt on the inside. But to me, it's like nobody who said anything on that roast made me feel like uncomfortable, the way I'd feel uncomfortable with somebody in real life having. actual issues with these people.
Starting point is 00:45:16 I've had issues with people. This is just a bunch of people whose goal and hope was to make somebody chuckle. Now, if Tony was really like, you know, kicking people in the ass or if Chelsea was really like, you know, being homophobic or something like that, then we got an issue. Yeah. But they just, man. It's just jokes. They're telling jokes, man.
Starting point is 00:45:38 So when I was there, no. Now, all them shirreless black things, that, you know, it make you want to be like, all right, enough of that. Just as just, and that's just me. Yeah. But I wouldn't like offended. It was just like, all right, let's team up, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:55 What was the? I just think with those you would just have to make good jokes. Like, when you get in, though, I can be upset at jokes that are just not the topic. It's just not funny. Like, now you're just making jokes about that and it's not. I mean, they're just shitty jokes. Yeah. Like, they're lazy, shitty jokes.
Starting point is 00:46:12 I can go with that. I can go with lazy. I can go with shitty. I, and this is just me, I find it difficult to say what's funny and what's not, right? Because who's the order of funny? I might not find it funny. So my else might find it funny. So, you know, I guess funny is relative and subjective.
Starting point is 00:46:30 But like, to me, the Cheryl Underwood jokes, it's not that they were unfunny necessarily. It was just like, wait a minute. Y'all, all y'all diggers feel like this. You know, just the crispy-old. Crackety, crunch it, it is like, and low-key, this might be out of line. But if you look at Cheryl Underwood on Deaf Comedy Jam, Ms. Cheryl Underwood, wonderful now, beautiful now. You look at her back then, she was not to be played with.
Starting point is 00:47:04 She was built up. So that's how I'm seeing her. And they're calling all this black shit and all, you know. Yeah. What was the room like when, uh, when Cat Williams came up? I don't think anybody knew. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Right? Well, somebody had to know, right? But I didn't know. I didn't realize when they were, who was setting that up? Was that Regina King? Regina Hall. Regina Hall, yeah. Was setting that up.
Starting point is 00:47:31 And then you just hear his voice. Like, I'm the last one. I didn't know that was going to have. I thought it was a joke while I was watching it live. Yeah. Like someone just played a Cat Williams. Yeah. No.
Starting point is 00:47:41 Like the roots hit a button and just. Yeah. Now, he came out and it was interesting because a lot of, I think everybody was reading a teleprompter. But from what I remember, it didn't necessarily see, and he's a professional. It didn't seem like Kat Williams was doing a teleprompter. It felt and seemed like some of this stuff was just what was on his chest. Yeah. Kat has had a lot of things he's been wanting to say to and in front of Kevin Hart for a while. Yeah, yeah. So I don't think he needed to teleprompter that. Yeah. Now, he read it like like everybody else. but I don't know, be it just a professionalism or whatever it was.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Like, the cat, he did his thing. Cat, the Rock, that was crazy. I was, to me, the Rock telling Kevin Hart to sit on his lap and suck his nipple was what I wanted to have outrage about. Everybody went to Tony Hitchcliff. I was like, the Rock told Kevin Hart to sit on his lap and latch onto his nether. I thought that was the craziest shit of the night. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:41 To me, was he on the prompt of the whole? Like, that was the longest set by far. Yeah, it was. He was on the teleprompter the whole time? He was. I thought he went rogue. Like, because he's the biggest A-list fucking actor ever, so I just assumed. He, that's interesting because, and we were talking about this, and Collins were talking about this, like, when he's got the mic in his hand, he's, he's the rock.
Starting point is 00:49:07 Yeah. You know, this is, he's back in his arena. Yeah. But when he's at the teleprompter, they're talking like this, he's doing Johnson. Yeah. Right. So he was vacillating between the rock and Dwayne Johnson and, and, I don't know, it made for an interesting performance.
Starting point is 00:49:21 I enjoyed it, but no, he was definitely reading what was on the teleprompter, but I would not be surprised if there's like, yo, I'm going to be here. If I'm going to be here. Let me riff a little bit. Let me go over. I want to do as much jokes as I want to do. And I'm not sitting through two hours of people telling jokes because people like, oh, he wasn't there at the beginning.
Starting point is 00:49:40 You think the rock was going to sit there for two hours? That's not going to happen. So he came out with the fire. Which they've done it, bro. Like the Justin Bieber roast, Will Ferrell came out as an anchor man. Mm-hmm. And then left. Like, yeah, no, Will Ferrell's not about to sit for a whole Justin Bieber roast.
Starting point is 00:49:55 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mall, this episode is sponsored by Basque and Lather. I was always one of those people that would use whatever face wash or body wash I had. Starting point is 00:52:19 force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Chavari, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull. It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though. Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that. Listen to Sweet 305 with Lelepons as part of my Coutura podcast network on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Tiana Taylor, she came and went, man, she was a...
Starting point is 00:54:44 All the women were prettier than, I don't know. It's just very pretty in real life. I'd never seen Tiana Taylor. It's like, wow, she looks like... No, she's like one of the most beautiful human beings that's ever existed on... She didn't even look real. And then the Williams sisters, God damn, they was big.
Starting point is 00:55:04 I know, they are so... You didn't think Serena and Venus Williams were... I didn't know they was... Two of the greatest athletes ever. Like, that, just big... She's the most accomplished athlete of all the time. Well, I say big of me, like, even, like, what do you call?
Starting point is 00:55:21 The shoulders just by, like, they're just a lot of human being. I had no clue. I don't like for Mall to repeat stories, but I would love for you to hear. This pride, because you didn't have one-on-one time with Keb, how to handle fame or whatever. Mall got to be in the same area as Serena Williams. It blew it. Yeah, this was before she was like, she was, she had a name.
Starting point is 00:55:46 Obviously, she was a huge celebrity at the time, but this was like 2001. And we were in DC at the All-Star Game. It was an All-Star game in Washington, D.C. and we had we were in the sky we had a skybox at the game and we all sitting watching the game and I happen to turn around and look and Serena Williams is standing in the skybox like looking at the TV by herself
Starting point is 00:56:11 like nobody else is paying I'm like bro that's Serena she's just standing over by herself so I'm a Serena Williams fan right I'm like I'm gonna just go say hi but then me and Serena also have the same exact birthday same day same year so I'm thinking about it like that's that's going to be my angle, like to just, that's my icebreaker. That's all I'm thinking. I'm not,
Starting point is 00:56:30 I'm not just going up there. I'm like, we're basically like brothers. Because she's been waiting for that moment. Yeah, yeah, my mind. I'm like, we're, we're the same birthday to come by. I'm like, we're the same person. You know what I'm saying? Like, so walk up to her, introduce myself and I'm like, yo, you know, we have the same exact birthday. She's like, really? I'm like, yeah, same day, same year. She's like, wow, I met somebody that had, we're born the same day, but not the same year. She was like, that's cool. So now I'm thinking she says that's cool. Yeah. I'm thinking we got her conversation going now. Now there's some rhythm here, right? I'm following. I start talking, talking. I'm getting into my whole spirit.
Starting point is 00:57:07 She was like, um, do you mind? Like, I was watching this TV. Like, this is the Simpson episode that I'm in. And I turn around and look at the TV. The episode of The Simpsons, one of the biggest show of the TV history is on. And at the exact moment, it's her and Venus on the Simpsons. I'm like, I am the dumbest fucking guy. Not one time did I think to turn and look that she was standing there watching TV. I'm thinking the game that we're all watching right here. The All-Star game is playing on the TV, The Simpsons with the way. Brother, that was not your fault.
Starting point is 00:57:41 That was God. That was God telling me to sit down. Who in the world would just assume that whoever they're talking to is on the Simpson? It's on a fucking cartoon. Like, what's the biggest cartoon of all time? Bro, the craziest. That is, I'm talking about the crazy. That story's so crazy.
Starting point is 00:58:00 People thought I was lying. And then somebody online, thank you to the guy. He looked up that episode when it aired and it in fact aired the same day as the All-Star game in February 2001. I'm like, I cannot make this up. Like, I was talking to Serena and I was fucking bothering her while the one of the greatest accomplishments moments of her life outside of winning Wimbledon. she's in the episode of the Simpsons that it doesn't get bigger than that for anybody to be in the fucking Simpsons
Starting point is 00:58:28 it was crazy no man she engaged you right she could have been like beat it exactly but she opened the door she said oh that's so cool yeah yeah yeah man brain turns on conversation time no sir just say what you say and keep it moving I'm on the Simpsons but yeah now
Starting point is 00:58:45 you got the story yeah right because either way she already did the episode whether she watched it or not right evil still coming out you know she ain't really need it after yeah yeah yeah now you got the story I got my story
Starting point is 00:58:59 you know we got the same fucking birthday that's all that matters I'm sure she still thinks about it to this day yeah to this day come on she can't you know she can't not think about it now when you saw her was she big as shit
Starting point is 00:59:07 she wasn't so this was too she was obviously she's always had you know a frame she was she's one of the greatest house ever yeah but she throughout the year she definitely did put on more muscle
Starting point is 00:59:20 she in 2001 one, she wasn't as muscular as she is now. She obviously, you know, had a great, you know, physique. You know, she's an athlete. Looking at this, this just looked like a girl that run track. Yeah. When I saw them at the roast,
Starting point is 00:59:35 I was like, oh, these are two Amazon that, like, can have their way if they want it. They can do whatever they want to you, Ron. Man, look. And I... You said anything to happen. Brother, I used to have a PSP, Remember that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:54 I was a young, young man. Full of things. Yeah. I remember Serena Williams was on there. I used to love her. Remember a hoops from flavor of love? Absolutely. Oh, God.
Starting point is 01:00:05 What a cutie pot. I had that on there. How do you not have delicious, though? That's homegrown. No? No? I just didn't have. We've got delicious over here.
Starting point is 01:00:13 I mean, I love her. You're asking me about my 13-year-old self. Yeah. And your PSP. It's not my PSP. You know. It's a, one with a big giant butt.
Starting point is 01:00:22 Yeah. You know, I needed something different. You know, hoops and and Serena. That's what I had. And Stacy Dash before she went crazy. Oh, my God. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:34 Yeah. Wow. Did she go crazy or Stacy Dash always been that way? I don't know. Because we never heard a lot about Stacy Dash. She was just a pretty cute girl and we loved Clueless, obviously. But we never heard her speak much back then. You know, through some of my experiences,
Starting point is 01:00:51 from 2020 forward, I would not be surprised if she had some light version of some type of mania or ever had bouts of psychosis because there's a spectrum of like mental health. Did you be surprised how many people are on? You know, and I don't know if she has any issues, but like, you know. I don't care about her politics. What made me laugh was rest and piece of DMX. Like six months had passed, and she was on IG Live. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:26 And she went, yeah. Wait, GMX died. See, that's like, whoa. That's crazy, you know. And there's people walking around like that, though. And they find. You was in the video. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:41 And they find as hells and we don't say nothing. But I think that's how they continue being crazy. Because people are just trying to fuck. And it's like, yeah, yeah. I love me your autism thing. Man. look brother and then she
Starting point is 01:01:56 how'd she turn white just the way you just shifted nah no we're here how'd she turn white love me a tism thing when did that happen yeah I think she had a skin like some type of disorder
Starting point is 01:02:09 with her skin I think man look more power to her like she reminds me of Nikki Minaj or maybe Nikki reminds me of her which your boy Jay-Z went in pretty hardcore on everybody. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:25 How'd you feel about that? Well, you know, I saw Dame Dash talking, which I don't know, man, I love Dame. I met him a few times, but some of the stuff he talks about us like, man, what are you talking about, brother? What you mean? Why are you talking about his outfit? What the who the fuck gives his shit what he's wearing? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:49 You're both old. Right. He's making fun of his hair. He's like, yo, Jay got that silly hair. What are you talking about silly? Right. He still got hair. To have hair, period, is a good thing.
Starting point is 01:03:04 Like, what, these are all, because I think he could talk some real shit about Jay. But he's talking about his outfit. Yeah. And his hair, like he's in the fifth fucking grade. Like, damn, grow up. Yeah. But I actually liked his hairstyle. I thought the shit was cute.
Starting point is 01:03:21 I thought the outfit was nice. You know, the raps. I enjoyed the aggression that he displayed in there. Like the rap that I like, I like for it to sound a certain way, not just be good words. If I wanted to just hear good words, I listen to poetry. Right. So I need the right energy in my eye. I'm a big fan of Kendrick because even if I didn't understand English, I'm like, oh, this nigger,
Starting point is 01:03:47 whatever he's talking about. Jay Z was doing that and I could feel like the energy and the passion behind it. But what his plan or point is, I mean, I don't know. Like what now? Do you come out with an album?
Starting point is 01:04:03 I think so. I think it was more so, you know, Jay has been experiencing and things, going through things the last few years. And obviously he's a rapper. So his way to respond would be through the music, through his lyrics,
Starting point is 01:04:16 through his bars. He's always done things like that. But I think that he's been, you know, for the past few years, he doesn't do a lot of interviews. He's not going to, you know, have many opportunities to address things. So I think that was his first time being on stage solo set in a while because he's come out on tour on Beyonce show a few times. But his own solo thing.
Starting point is 01:04:41 444. Yeah, the last time was 444, 2016, almost 10 years ago. So I think he used that moment to kind of just like, you know, I'm going to respond to things that obviously I've gone through and that everybody that was there has heard or read about. So I think he just used that platform to just address a lot of the shit that's been on his mind. And, you know, that's, to me, that's what it's for. It's supposed to be for a rapper for artists. It's supposed to be through the art, through the music. But does an album come afterwards?
Starting point is 01:05:11 I think we get, I think we get an album this year. I think we get a Jay Z album this year. I think that, you know, Jay, he's very intentional, and he's not going to do anything unless there is a full plan ahead. So I think even to, you know, the shows at Yankee Stadium, being however many years since Reasonable Doubt and the blueprint, things like that, I think that he's obviously in, you know, his creative circle. And I think music, new music, is definitely, definitely happening this year. I wish they weren't beefing. I was never a fan. But who's beefing?
Starting point is 01:05:50 Jay Z and Drake. They're not beefing. I mean, but he was talking about him, wasn't he? I mean, it's just, it's like where we spoke about it,
Starting point is 01:05:58 it's just, that's rap, little jabs here and there. But it's not a beef, though. Like, I don't think Jay Z is getting into a beef with anybody musically at this point in his career. I think he'll always have little jabs and little,
Starting point is 01:06:12 you know, little bars here and there. But to me, that's cool. You know what I'm saying? That's part of the art. That's part of the sport of hip hop is to say little slick things here and there about other emcees or your peers and things like that. But a beef, though, Jay-Z is not. He's not beefing with any rappers at this point in his life.
Starting point is 01:06:31 No, that's not. Yeah, apparently he's got MAGA ops. That's what he said. Yeah, whatever. I don't know nothing about that. He does have MAGA-Ops. I'm pretty sure he has MAGA-Ops for sure. I mean, the whole Kevin Hart roast was mega ops verse, everyone else.
Starting point is 01:06:48 Yeah, I mean, I guess I'm not into politics like that. I was listening to who was breaking that stuff down? Van Lathen? No. Jesus Christ. I think you guys probably have beef with them. Academics. Okay.
Starting point is 01:07:06 Listening to, you know, that be broken down on his channel, which is very funny to be a fan of all these things. and then there'll be little beefs on the inside. I sure you guys are fine enough now. But, you know, apparently Jay-Z's got cahoots with the MAGA people and all that stuff. Well, when you're a billionaire, I mean, you're going to be in the same room with some people that other people probably are not big fans of. That makes sense. That's a very small club, the billionaire. I guess when you're a billionaire, like, you kind of have friends and enemies with everybody.
Starting point is 01:07:38 Oh, at that point, absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. Like, do I think when Rock Nation was trying to bid for Caesars that they didn't have to go around Jared Kushner? No, of course not. Like, yeah, I get that. Yeah. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 01:07:54 Do I think they're fucking friends or they agree with politics with each other? Absolutely not. But when you get to that level, you start to realize not to get too deep that there is no fucking Democrat Republican Party at that point. No. Yeah. That's what I'd be trying to explain. So I hear you with the act stuff and this and that. And I get it because it's internet fodder and that's funny.
Starting point is 01:08:13 You could find Jay at a table and Jared Kushner, who's Trump's son-in-law is right there. This and that. If you try to bid on a building in New York City now, if he was Drake, you got to deal with the Kushners. Yeah. At that point, it just has to happen. This is not a, like, politics is not involved in this. That's billionaire shit that I don't even understand. Like, I would never understand what it's like to bid on that type of thing.
Starting point is 01:08:38 You got to deal with people that are insane. Yeah. Maybe that's some money that we don't need to see. You know, I don't know. Well, I mean, I guess the question is there. Do you not fuck with it because you don't believe in the politics of the people that have already controlled it for the last hundred years? Or do you try to be a representation in it? I say get your money.
Starting point is 01:09:04 That's where I think things. Yeah. Get your money. I think it's your money. I agree there. If you're going to be in that stuff, if you got the, it's like what I was saying about brother Kevin Hart earlier. If you got the brainpower to comprehend and deal with all that stuff, then go for it.
Starting point is 01:09:19 Go, Jay-Z. You know, go whoever. If you can do it, do it. You know, I'm over here trying to get this bitch to stop screaming in a megaphone. So I got different problems, you know what I'm saying? I'm over here. You should put her in front of the Rock Nation on me. You will crumble.
Starting point is 01:09:36 I'm over here. But no, I mean, with that type of stuff, like, I think even with the hove and the casino, the opportunities and Kev too. Like, I see Kev get a lot of slack that I think is so unwarranted. Again, this is me outside looking in from business and from cultural, look at my lack of melanin. If Kev could get in there and make sure everyone is represented, that's a start, no? Yeah. If Caesar's Palace, which I have my disagreements with casinos, but if you have, Hove being one of the owners of Caesar's Palace in Times Square,
Starting point is 01:10:13 and he can make sure you get booked. Everybody gets booked, and they could do residencies every year. Yeah. Yeah. And he's also a businessman. His whole life doesn't have to be dedicated to what the culture is going to do. What the fuck is wrong with that?
Starting point is 01:10:28 I just don't see the problem with that. If you can make sure everybody around you, any talent you like, you get a residency, you get a residency, you get a residency. I think like I said, man, some people just, they got to find something to complain about. They don't feel right unless they get something to complain about. Like, they could be nothing wrong. And then it's like, but I got to complain about something.
Starting point is 01:10:51 Because there is no angle of anything where it's like, all right, this is the rightest way. Nobody has no objections to it. So somebody has always going to object. But I feel like the more success one finds or, you know, the more winning a person does. you know, the more some people wouldn't just be like, hey, I don't like this or this is bad because
Starting point is 01:11:15 of whatever. Like the, the hate that Jay-Z gets a lot of times, it's like, for what? Because with Kev too. I think Kev gets the same slack for no fucking reason. And I've seen brother Kevin go into that. Like,
Starting point is 01:11:31 you know, Jay-Z, whatever, a long time ago, at least I didn't see him a sin. I saw Kevin Hart a sin from soul plane to I'm a grown little man and I've seen people enjoy them and then I've seen people grow to hate them simply because
Starting point is 01:11:47 I don't know the nigger was wearing a nice shirt or you see him next to Oprah or something. They don't know nothing about his politics that's going. Especially this one girl dated in Detroit this bitch thing everybody works to the devil. If they got I've dated that girl too. This
Starting point is 01:12:03 bitch thing. Definitely dated that girl too. I was, Illuminati, that's what I did. She's, well, oh, because I know Kevin Hart. What happened when she found YouTube? Because, boy, was that crazy when I dated the Illuminati chick. Oh, my God. Apparently, I had got her when she had got out of the rabbit hole of YouTube. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:21 But she's hit me up since and be like, yo, like, you're going to get invited to the Illuminati party now. And it's like, you just won. You just won Kevin Hart funny as fuck. Yeah, you were part of Illamination. I dated the Illuminati chick. specifically when the Rick Ross, J. Z. Freemason song came out because she was trying to tell me that Jay was the Freemason. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:41 And, my, I had never met Jay at this point at all. But I was like, I think you're overthinking some of this a bit. Of course. So to this day, I'm still cool with her. Like, we don't date, but like, I talked to her from now and then. She has legitimately asked me, okay, so when they're going to ask you, like, to be gay? I'm like, are you still on this shit? That is my issue.
Starting point is 01:13:05 It's just the confidence with the wrongness. Like, you just know, just without a doubt. So we're going to ask you. I tried to tell you before you met all these people. I'm like, I promise you we've, we've not had gay sex. I promise you. The fact that I don't know who I could tell this to, but the fact that people think gay sex is something that wild anyway,
Starting point is 01:13:27 it's like, what's wrong? Like, that's the end all be all. Nobody say kill babies. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nobody is just a little butt fucking, like, it's not that big a deal, man. I've never done it, but like... Killing villages and oil pipelines are way crazy. Like, then men fucking men.
Starting point is 01:13:45 It's like, come on, man. This is not the people that worship the devil. The devil, we're in June. People butt fuck each other all month this month. It's not that wild. The Illuminati is going to make you suck dick. That's it. That's the worst thing.
Starting point is 01:14:03 then I get to meet the aliens or whatever. I get the world secrets off a dick suck. Wow. Some people. The whole month of June, everyone would know. Oh, my God, man. But, you know, more power to them, the Illuminati, all that good stuff. Ron, let the people know where they can find you at, man.
