Starting point is 00:02:28 podcast. Come on, man. You don't feel inspired after watching that trailer? I'm inspired by him being inspired by the inspiration into the... I can't wait to see the I play Rory movie. I play Rory. It's funny as fuck. I can't wait.
Starting point is 00:03:20 You wasn't inspired by that trailer just now? I was. Seriously. Very much. That didn't look. That's not like you don't... How many times do you watch the trailer? I'm like, nah, I'm going to see that.
Starting point is 00:03:29 I definitely said that after I saw that trail. I got to go see that. That shit was dope. That wasn't dope, DeMars? That wasn't a dope trailer? That was the worst movie ever. Okay, but see, Ryan, all right, we can just start. Ryan's young, so he wasn't around for the Rocky.
Starting point is 00:03:46 He don't know Rocky. He doesn't even, he's never even heard Eye of the Tiger. He doesn't even know. You don't know Rocky, though. You don't know the story. When he goes to Philly, he gets a Chiefs, he doesn't go to the steps. He doesn't go to the steps. Yeah, like, you don't know Rocky, man.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Demar's, you don't know Rocky. You never watch? I know him from Creed. I see. You never watched any of the Rocky movies? You've never seen any of the Rock. I'm sure my dad has had one playing in the background at some point. Your dad has definitely seen every Rocky.
Starting point is 00:04:13 Well, yeah, but I'm saying he's probably had them playing in the background. I probably walked past, but I've never watched them. I feel like, I mean, I don't know if you love them, but you have to just, it's one of those series you just have to watch. It's an American classic. It is an American classic. It's like when you had to read like Wuthering Heights in school. Remember you had to read Wuthering Heights?
Starting point is 00:04:31 You never had to read that? No, I didn't have to read that. We're not that old. Oh, fuck y'all. I know. But in school, we had to read that. We had to read, like, of mice and men. We read that.
Starting point is 00:04:44 You had to read that? Mm-hmm. So how you said I'm oldest, I had to read that. It's the same shit. Like, what are you talking about? Misen, men, and Rocky are pretty much the same. It's the same. Of Mice and Men and Rocky are the same thing.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Shut up. It's the same thing. One of the flies. It's all the same. It's about believing. It's about what starts here. Required reading. I know why the page bird sings.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Yeah. I don't think I read that. Rocky was in the meat truck. That was his cage. Stings frozen solid. For those that don't know what we're talking about, there is a movie about
Starting point is 00:05:19 Sylvain making Rocky. It's a movie about making a movie. I play Rocky. And mind you, I did not know that's how it went, that he wrote it. And they were like, well, get an actor.
Starting point is 00:05:27 He's like, no, I'm going to do it. Yeah. I didn't know that. No, guys, I play Rocky. I want to fuck Adrian on camera. I'll play rock. It made it weird.
Starting point is 00:05:37 See? That fast is weird. The movie has nothing to do Rocky fucking on camera. Nothing to do with that. How y'all not? That wasn't a dope trilogy out of? No, I really want to see it. Yeah, that's all right, Roy. So we're here. You get it. You understand. Like the same way it's like flight, it's like flight, sort of. Like, I like
Starting point is 00:05:52 seeing how things were made. Yeah. It's a great story. Yeah, but like, Sylvester Stallone's accent is like enough on him. I don't want to see somebody do his accent. I don't want to do that. I mean, his accent, his own accent is a character chair. So, like, no matter what, you're going to sound like you're doing a
Starting point is 00:06:10 characterature. But that's really just how it is. I'm willing to bet that's going to be one of the best movies of the year. Like, y'all all going crazy over Odyssey right now. Peach can't find any tickets. AMC is sold out. I guarantee you I play Rocky is better than Odyssey. All right. All right. Bullfucking shit. Guarantee. I mean, different genres. Guaranteed it's a better movie. I guarantee you we're going to come here. We're going to both, we're going to make sure we all see I play Rocky and Odyssey. And I guarantee you, I guarantee you, I'll play Rocky is a better movie. Guaranteed.
Starting point is 00:06:40 I can look at the, I'm telling him, looking at the trailer, I'm like, oh, this is, this is great. But you never saw a whack, saw a trailer, like, this can be the most amazing movie ever. And you go and it's like, the best parts of the movie were all the trailer. Like, they just took out of the best parts. That's happened. But the Rocky, the story is so, like, that, like, to Rory's point, like, that series, that trilogy. It's not even a trailer, more than four. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Like, that shit is so crazy that the origin story has to be incredible. But then again, I don't know Because y'all didn't like, people didn't like the Batman with What's the dude from, Robert Pattinson That shit was so long and dark Now y'all, see that movie to me that Batman was dope I couldn't get, I would, maybe if I could have gotten through half of it It was long as fuck
Starting point is 00:07:22 Because remember you were supposed to go with me I ended up going by myself We were supposed to go see that together? Yeah, I ended up going by myself They was like, Maude took you, I said, nah But what, you're comparing that to like Rocky 4 or? What, Batman? No, I'm saying that
Starting point is 00:07:36 Because I liked Rocky. No, people said people didn't like that Batman movie. I liked it. I thought it was good because it wasn't the, I guess, the prototypical action-packed Batman movie. Yeah. People didn't like it. But I like the story of it. I like the dark, you know, the cinematography.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I thought the movie was good. So I'm looking at this I play Rocky trailer like, okay, this is the story. A lot of people didn't know that that's the story of the real Rocky movie and Sylvester Stallone's story. So the fact that they putting that on, you know, in theaters to show that, I thought the trailer looked out. Now, I'm not saying, you know, it's the greatest trailer, anything like that. But based off the trailer looking at it, I'm like, okay, yeah, I got to go see that. Yeah. One of my favorite Bill Burr jokes is that Philadelphia is so racist that they had Joe Frazier,
Starting point is 00:08:18 but instead they made up some small Italian guy boxer as their Philadelphia boxing story. Trying to compare Rocky to the Joe Frazier story? No, no, you had the real story of Joe Frazier that you could have done. But now, let's just make up some fictional little Italian guy. I mean, you know, it's a story of believing. It's just believing yourself. Who doesn't love it? And it's coming out November 3rd, right around a holiday.
Starting point is 00:08:44 That's going to be a big movie, man. I'm telling you. I know. You and Autumn Unks are going to be in there. And you don't know what Rocky Ford did to like our patriotism. Where was the guy from Russia or something? Like, we was in the thick of it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:56 And Rocky, he just went to the woods. Yeah. There was a lot going on with the Soviet Union at that time in America. I don't even think it was the Soviet Union. I think it was Russia at that point. Being honest, you guys think that the Rockies is better than the Crees, are better than the Crees? Fuck, yeah. Yes, I do.
Starting point is 00:09:13 It's not even fucking close. I think that's nostalgia. No, it ain't no fucking nostalgia. It's reality. That Creeze series is shit. You're crazy. Shout to Michael Bucon. I wouldn't call it shit, but it's not better than the Rockies.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Now you're just saying stuff. Well, I didn't see Creece. I only saw the first Cree. How many Crees are there? There's three. There's three. And every single one gets better. Like, the second one's better than the first.
Starting point is 00:09:33 The third one's better. The production is better. I don't know if the story's better. The story is better. The story with him and Jonathan fucking majors and the third one. His man came home. He's salty. He just came off from doing a bid.
Starting point is 00:09:44 Now he won a fight. He won a championship bout out the prison. He want to go straight for the belt. That story's ass. Get out of here. It's a really good story. It's not bad in the Rocky. That shit ain't better.
Starting point is 00:09:55 You only watched one. So how are you going to judge him? Because I didn't need to see two or three. I already know what happened. Now, nobody to say that about. Everyone counted him out. Nobody ever watched. And then he came back against everyone's wishes.
Starting point is 00:10:10 That's not 213. His wife was deaf and he was acting. He was in the mirror saying how he was going to propose to her. She was right outside the door and she heard him. Like I get it. It pulled at the heartstrings a little bit. Well, that ain't better than Rocky. Adrian worked at the fucking the pet store.
Starting point is 00:10:27 Come on, man. Did you see that apartment they lived in? To where he took it? To Beverly Hills. Get the fuck out of here with that Creed shit, man. This Creed is, it's a height. Michael we joined it a good job, but that don't compare to no fucking, Rocky 4. Rocky 4 is one of the greatest movies ever.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Ever. I'm being unctified. See, that's why Maine in America never even hit you the same. You didn't even know where you were standing. You was right there in Rocky territory. See? You was looking at Bad Bunny. No.
Starting point is 00:10:59 I was looking at Hope. What is this for? 38% on Rockin Tomatoes. Greatest movie of all time, though, for sure. Come on, we go about rotten tomatoes now? Yeah, come on, man. What do they know? I only like Jersey tomatoes.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Yeah, what do they know? They think Jersey mics is better than Blimpys. He said Rory's a rotten tomato. Yo, you had enough jokes last fucking episode when you were hungover. Don't, no more jokes from you. First of all, Jersey mics is better than Blimpies. You get those. Yo, what we're doing today?
Starting point is 00:11:30 Blimpies is ass, bro. Blimpies is ass? Yes. It's always been ass, been asses since I was a kid. It's always ass. By the time you was a kid, Blimpy was phasing out. That is, well, nah. Blimpie's when I was like a teenager started phasing out.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Yo, when did the last blipy close? Kill. No, there's still blimpies open. I was about to say, there's still Blimpies open. Where? Like, and when they had, like, half. Jersey City? There's one in Jersey City.
Starting point is 00:11:49 There's one in Jersey Square from where else. They started phasing out, though. But yeah, there's a lot in Jersey. Oh, so Jersey still holding on. Blipy stinks, though. Nah, Blimpie is way better than Jersey bikes. You tripping. It's not even, like, remotely close.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Peach, come on, Peach. Jersey mics actually, like, gives you cold cuts. Blimpies gives you one slice of turkey and then a bunch of lettuce. No, you don't. You got to ask for more. Tell them how you want your sandwich. Yeah, the Blimpys employees is doing that. Nah, man, y'all tripping.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Blimpys is better than Jersey mics, man. Well, I don't really eat at any of these because we have delis, but if I'm out, like, somewhere else in the country, I want a sandwich. I'm going to Jersey mics before Blimpies any day. Let me guess. Quick check is better than Blimpie? No. Oh, okay. No.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Wawa stinks. Quick check stinks. They all stink. You know what Wawa stinks? Quick check is like Wawa. It's a worse Wawa. Quick check is a relatively new thing, though. No, that's been out for a while.
Starting point is 00:12:45 I can't believe y'all think Jersey Mikes is better than Blimby. That's crazy, man. Blimbyes might be, some way might be better than Blubby's. I. Never mind, bro. Now, see now the disrespect is going to a whole other level of them. I've never heard anyone big up Blimpies in my life. What?
Starting point is 00:13:00 No. Not once have I heard someone like, yo, we out to Blimpies tonight. You're crazy. Jimmy Johns or Jersey? Jersey mics. Jersey mics over Jimmy Johns. I might have to go Jersey bikes. Let me guess you. Quiznos. There was a sandwich that I used to like from Quiznos. Over what? Blimpie?
Starting point is 00:13:21 Over nowhere. Just it was, you know, Quiznows isn't bad. How we went from comparing Rocky movies to fucking compare sandwiches? You knickers is fat. We comparing it. Fuck it. Because he was punching cold cuts in the freezer. That's what.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Me, Trozen solid. I'm going to see that shit. Y'all fucking tripping. I'm going to see I play Rocky. Y'all bugging out, man. I'm going to see that shit. Yeah, I'm going to see that shit, man. I might get my gray sweatsuit, man, and go see Rocky.
Starting point is 00:13:47 Okay, so, Roy, I'll watch the Rockies if you do what I asked you to do. Fair? Watching four Rocky movies you could do in an afternoon. Watching eight seasons of Game of Thrones is going to take me a lifetime. Oh, yeah. I told you to not watch Game of Thrones. Just do house a lifetime. Okay, I promise on air here, yes.
Starting point is 00:14:04 I will start watching that. I'm not watching eight seasons of Game With Thrones. After you watch House of the Dragons, you'll want to. That's why I said, just watch House of the Dragons first. Where are you at with Sopranos? Did you give up? I know you gave up on a Sopranos. Baby, I'm not going to know.
Starting point is 00:14:16 Oh, then you'll never survive Rocky. Yeah, I'm not going to lie. I'll get it now. What you think I just don't like Italians? Like I, like, the fuck? Gave up on a Sopranos. I'm going to try again. I just, it's like, when I want to put something on, I'm not like really rushing to that.
Starting point is 00:14:29 How do you watch, how do you sit through Game of? Thrones and can't sit through the Sopranos. Game of Thrones is interesting. I think it's, I think, I really, I really think, so what I'm saying is I really think if I would have watched it at the time, like I said before, if I would have watched it when it came out, it would be different. Watching that style of TV now is just looks old. Like, it's just old.
Starting point is 00:14:52 I don't. We're also in season one, but I hear you. But all of TV kind of copies what the Sopranos did. I feel like that's the one show. The wire I get, if you didn't watch it at the time, yeah. I get that. Sopranos literally every single show in 2026 and before copies the Sopranos. How so?
Starting point is 00:15:11 From character development, how they shoot it, where you have to like a bad guy. Breaking Bad doesn't exist without Sopranos. You don't get a Walter White without a Tony Soprano. All shows that have the arc of the main character being a piece of shit, but you love him, which is most of TV now, comes first from the Sopranos. Psychology, mental health, mixed with violence, mixed with, with that caricature all comes from the spranos.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Okay. Having 17 main characters all with different storylines, Sopranos. Okay. All Sopranos. How everything is shot right now is Sopranos.
Starting point is 00:15:45 But I'm not saying you have to like it. Just give it a chance to season two. I told you from the beginning season one is a little tough to get through if you're not watching it in real time.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Okay. If you give up in season two, then I'll shut up. All right. I'll try again this weekend. No, you won't. Stop behind. Did your dad watch Sopranos?
Starting point is 00:16:01 I don't think so Okay, damn Sometimes you gotta wash it with With an old man Yeah Mark Exactly What you think your favorite
Starting point is 00:16:09 My bad I'm an old man Like the phone My bad Sorry What's your dad's favorite show You think All time
Starting point is 00:16:17 Favorite show? He likes out of all time Yeah Like I don't know about show Of all time He Game of Thrones Might be it for him as well
Starting point is 00:16:24 No way No Game of Thrones Is not your dad's favorite show Of all time Everything we know About your father
Starting point is 00:16:30 I wouldn't land I'm not rolling with that. Okay. Game of Thrones. Call your dad right now. We got that. I need to know. I need to know.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Game of Thrones is not your dad's favorite show of all time. There's no fucking way. He doesn't answer my phone calls a lot. What? What type of father is he? Because I'm always asking for money. Oh, well, he's a good father. He's the best dad in the world.
Starting point is 00:16:53 He's not answering because he can't afford it. He's the best father on the whole planet. That'd be my shit. When certain people call me like, why you ain't pick up? Because I can't afford. Every time you call, it's going to cost me something. Even if it's not monetary, it's going to cost me time. It's going to cost me something I can't have.
Starting point is 00:17:08 I'm about to put you on speakerphone, okay? You're just talking about you got to ask some question real quick. On the show, Maul wants to ask you a question real quick. Not a crazy question. Not like the last question I asked you. Dad, what's your favorite TV show of all time? Favorite TV? Why, Maul they want to talk to me?
Starting point is 00:17:26 Favorite TV show, all time, Dad, quickly. All right. I mean, what type of show you're talking about? Anything. Like, what's your favorite show of all time? Like your favorite. Like, when you think of, like, it puts joy in your heart. The best TV show that I've watched, um, that I can remember was Yellowstone. Okay. Yellowstone, okay. That's a good show. Demaris said your favorite show of all time was Game of Thrones. That's rinkin up there. That's ranking right up there with it. Thank you. Thanks, Dad.
Starting point is 00:18:02 rank it right up there with it. Yellowstone is a good show. Dad, did you ever watch all the Rockies? Nah, no. No, no. Bullshit. All right, my dad. Love you.
Starting point is 00:18:17 He said, nah, nah. He watched that bullshit. To his defense, my father feels the same way, just of his prejudice against Italians. He calls Rocky bullshit. I enjoyed the Rockies.
Starting point is 00:18:30 My dad was like, please get this Guinea bullshit away. for me. Oh my God. Is that a blur? These fucking grease walls. I can't watch this shit. I'm not going to put that on my dad, but that's probably why. Yeah, that's probably why. What is Yellowstone? Forgive me.
Starting point is 00:18:47 I don't know. I think it's about Cowboys or something. He keeps trying to give me to watch it. I like Kevin Costner sometimes. Sometimes you like Kevin Costner? Most times I like Kevin Costner. Yeah. I didn't know Kevin Gossner was in it. He's been telling me to watch it for mad long. It's a good cowboy. Kelly Riley. It's a couple of people in there
Starting point is 00:19:04 He really likes it So you probably would like it Gail song's a good show It's a good show You would like it What's the one you like About the Irish gangsters
Starting point is 00:19:16 My dad That's my dad's favorite That's my dad's favorite show Piqui Blonders is definitely top five He doesn't shut up about that Did you see the There's a movie now? Yeah Ryan was just telling me about it
Starting point is 00:19:25 I saw The Immortal Man I saw that on Netflix But Ryan was saying There's another one There's a new series coming. Okay. Based off of his son and that whole story. But Peeky Blind is definitely one of the greatest shows of all the time.
Starting point is 00:19:41 Got you. Oh, Ma, there's a new show on Netflix that I think you'll like. It's kind of like the All Her Fault Show. It's called I Will Find You. It's based off of Harlan. You did? He came in here. Oh, yeah, you did tell me. I watched it.
Starting point is 00:19:56 It was good. Yeah, it was good. Yeah. I watched the whole thing. and one day in the hospital. Yeah. Yeah, Harlan Colvin is one of my favorite, um, author. Did you think it was that guy, though?
Starting point is 00:20:08 No. No, I thought it was his mother the whole time. So I'm going to tell you a funny story. So I was watching it and this girl called me. She was like, oh, my God, I love the guy, like the boyfriend. She was like, he's so sweet. So, so there, but she's to finish watching it. I called him back.
Starting point is 00:20:23 I was like, yo, you still like that dude? She was rude for him. Like, oh, my God, he's such a sweetheart. He's such a stand-up guy. whole time. There's a lesson in that. It's probably like a more. There's a lesson in that.
Starting point is 00:20:35 You can't trust these niggas. And knowing her, like, in the guy she's dated, like, it makes sense why she like that guy. She's terrible with the guy she's dated. Terrible. I mean, he gave red flags from the beginning, in my opinion. What was his red flags? Everything she liked about him. He was too much.
Starting point is 00:20:51 He was too available. In a script, this feels like, why is this guy so good? In a script, yes. But, like, in real life. He was too available. I let you stay at my crib. check the cameras you got some nigger in there i'm cool with that who is this nigga you know it's crazy though he knew the nigga though like he knew what
Starting point is 00:21:10 that was that's what i'm saying that he never said nothing about like he never flipped he was always available yo i'll come get you where are you he pulled right up yeah you ain't got nothing to do like you you just available for this chick that you that don't that broke it off with you before like yeah i don't know something about him from the beginning it was kind of like, I don't know. And what did everyone do for a living that they all had those houses? Well, his mom was the, who was she for that company? Was she the CEO?
Starting point is 00:21:40 Yeah, like, yeah. Everybody just casually had amazing shit. Oh, man, Pfizer. What's the other one that we loved where the baby got switched in the car accident? Oh, that was great. That was super great. That was all her fault? I just said, everyone is just rich in these shows.
Starting point is 00:21:54 No, that was that. And they don't work. That show was crazy. That show was crazy. Yeah. Who wrote that? We got to start getting into these writers, like their minds. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Like, how your brain go to that? What you did in your life? What you saw? How much clue did you play? How much murder mystery at Game Night? That's a great show, but let's talk about the writer, though. Let's get into the life of the right. The books are usually always better, though.
Starting point is 00:22:16 You guys don't like murder mystery books. Those are my favorite books. I love, like, trying to find out who killed the housewife. Reading it? I'll watch it. I'm not about to be in the bed under the blanket's reading a book about a murder mystery. I'll turn the TV on and watch it, though. Why?
Starting point is 00:22:29 I'm not reading no book. I'm going to just keep it out. I'm not reading no book. I'm not. The farthest I go is if you tell me like it's an audio book. Well, that's not reading. And Samuel better be reading it. On crack.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Yeah, on crack. He better be playing Gator. So you know. I want sober. Yeah, yeah. Don't get me sober Samuel. You never were, was a reader? You didn't, you've read certain books.
Starting point is 00:22:53 But I'm like now, if you tell me, yo, this book is crazy. The first thing I'm asking you was, does it have a movie based on it? Yo. I'm not reading, I'm going to be honest with you. I'm not reading no book. I'm not. I'm just not. I'm not going to be in bed reading a murder mystery.
Starting point is 00:23:08 You don't want to be in bed. You could like sit on your couch lounge. And read a murder mystery? No. Because see, when you read, you have to use your imagination. When I watch too, I got to use my imagination. When I watched, I will find you the whole time I was imagining. Who the fuck is behind them?
Starting point is 00:23:22 Yes, but when you read, you have to imagine what the house looks like. Like, you have to take the descriptive words that they use and imagine what the house looks like, what the characters look like, like imagine their facial expressions, like, no, all right. Did you read Gone Girl before the movie? No, not Gone Girl.
Starting point is 00:23:41 A Girl on the train, yes, but Gone Girl I actually saw the movie before I read. The movie made me want to go read the book. Girl on the train book is fire. Gone Girl, I just, when I saw the movie, I did not expect Tyler Perry to pop up. That's just not how I imagined the character. Because I read Gone Girl
Starting point is 00:23:57 before the movie, and I was like, I don't know. I don't know casting him. I would have landed on Tyler Perry, but, mind you, Tyler Perry did smoke that role. He killed that role. Yeah, but it's Tyler Perry. Like an Atticus Finch in my head. We're not taking Tyler Perry series as no fucking detective. No, he... Get out of him, man. That might be my favorite role he ever played, though. He killed that role.
Starting point is 00:24:16 He smoked it. It's just not, if you read the book, you're not going to picture Tyler Perry. That's all. You know the crazy thing is Tyler Perry actually is very, he's very talented. I don't think anyone would deny that Tyler Perry. I think that he purposely aims for a specific demographic and that's why a lot of his movies are cringe to people like us.
Starting point is 00:24:36 But he knows what he's doing. He's very talented. Oh, he definitely knows what he's doing. He owns half of Atlanta now. Like, he's good. You don't get there without intention. Yeah, I think he figured that out. He knew exactly what the fuck you know.
Starting point is 00:24:48 He knew his sweet spot. Yeah. You know what I just recently found out was based off a book. You know what? Hardball, the movie. Really? Imagine somebody reading hardball.
Starting point is 00:24:58 the book. No. Ma. Look what you clown people for. Yo, if I was a... Damaris, if I came here and I'm like, what book you read it? You said, Hardball?
Starting point is 00:25:08 Well, you want to know the real title? Hardball. A season in the projects. Oh, my God. That's the name of the book. You can't read that book. You can't even look at that book. No, but what's so fucked up is...
Starting point is 00:25:17 Okay, so how I even stumbled upon this or why my algorithms, there was like an anniversary of the lawsuit. There was a lawsuit. This was a true story about a priest that also worked in finance, but he was a priest in North Chicago and put together this North Chicago
Starting point is 00:25:34 baseball league. And he sued hardball because they took his book and changed him from this great priest in the north end of Chicago helping everyone in the projects to this degenerate gambling womanizer. And he sued Paramount for this entire thing because they changed him from a priest
Starting point is 00:25:53 to a degenerate, more or less. And he was pissed that all the kids in the book were like, well-behaved, nice kids, and he turned all of them into, like, black stereotypes. So there was a huge lawsuit that I was not even aware of back in 2000. Okay. I never knew. But, yeah, Hardball was a book.
Starting point is 00:26:09 Like, there's a G-baby out there. Well, not anymore. There was a G-baby out there. Okay. I never knew that. I never knew how it was based on a true story. That's fire. Because, I mean, no one used to, like, write scripts.
Starting point is 00:26:20 They just read a book and be like, let's do it. They still do that now. That's why literally, I'm like, does Harlan Colbin have a deal with Netflix? There's another show that just popped up in his that I was watching last night. Like, you probably does. People are lazy. Yeah, I'm just not reading no book, though. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:26:36 Well, Hollywood is really lazy now. It's just Marvel shit or reboots of something that was successful before. Marvel hasn't had a movie in a while. Blame everything on us. When is the new Avengers? You ask literally anyone in Hollywood in their biggest gripe is that all they make is Marvel movies or reboots the things that already worked. Yeah, everybody reboots.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Definitely reboots. Doomsday is coming out this year or end of this year. December 18? Mm-hmm. But Avengers. Is that the Mayan calendar? Hang that up. That's going to be crazy.
Starting point is 00:27:05 December 18 right before the holiday. That's going to be crazy. Did you watch Black Widows prequel movie? Black Widows? Yeah. No, I don't think so. You should watch that. That's good.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Black Widow. What is that about? Black Widow? Spider. Oh, the Avenger. The Avenger. Oh, okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:23 Wait, who plays? Scarlet Johansson. When did that come out? I don't probably like COVID. Yeah, around that time. How come they never bring Hallie Berry back for Catwoman? Like, why they never do that?
Starting point is 00:27:35 Please. I saw that one in tears. She got killed for that role. Why? She got killed for that movie. The movie? No, the movie Catwoman was, it was kind of. It was kind of wild. It was bad.
Starting point is 00:27:43 That was bad. We love happy. I saw that in theaters with my dad. Just me and my dad went to go see Catwoman. I remember vividly. That was bad. Yeah. That might be the worst dad movie date ever.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Taking your son to go see Catwoman. You know why we went. Of course. You want to see. chocolate i get it but catwoman that was that movie was bad that movie like thinking about that movie that movie was bad bro yeah somebody put the basketball scene on twitter and i oh that shit goes viral like once a week and i watch it i watch it every time that movie was and it's so funny hally berry be commenting like can y'all please stop this it's not only it's just i wish i could
Starting point is 00:28:21 have been one of the kids as like an extra that was like damn look at her crossover yeah that movie was terrible. What's the guy's name again? I forgot. He was supposed to be something, right? Yeah. Like he was... He played in a couple movies.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Yeah, that's my man from... I want to call him Mario. I just feel like... That's my man from Blood and Blood and Blood out. God, this is so bad. Remember that movie Blood and Blood out? Of course I do. Look at.
Starting point is 00:28:46 This is really fucking bad. Can we put this in the corner and not get... On Netflix? Yeah, we should be fine. We'll be fine. I'm sure this woman, this is on Netflix. This has never been on Netflix. You don't think they picked us up?
Starting point is 00:28:58 We're the first ones to put Catwoman on Netflix. Yo. Taking the jackets off. No. Mall Demaris was saying she was at the show. She couldn't find me. She didn't have service. Starting point is 00:34:38 That incredible. Yeah, the telenovela. You're the only person I know that loves a yellow starburst. It's slanted. And no,
Starting point is 00:34:45 there's a person. Like, you say, I'd like to collaborate with this person. This is Sweet 305. Listen to Sweet 305
Starting point is 00:34:55 with Lele Pons as part of my Culture Podcast Network on the IHartRadio app, Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. Speaking of movies, this is why I can't, like, date young people because somebody said to me, yo, I never thought that Samuel Jackson's best role would be Django. And I said, get the fuck off my phone, bro.
Starting point is 00:35:18 He smoked that role, though. He did, but his best role of all time? It's up there. That's up there. Your best role can't be an uncle time. Why not? Some niggas best roles in real life is being Uncle Tom At least he was in a movie with DiCaprio doing it
Starting point is 00:35:39 Yeah That's definitely one of his best roles though He smoked that role Yeah I mean I wouldn't think it's that crazy for someone to say that But I don't know Why would Google put Frodo put Frozo in the Incredibles? Where's my Super Soup
Starting point is 00:35:55 Do the right thing More Better Blues I thought Pulpiction was number one without like I didn't think we needed to bring up Phil's Winfield for sure Mr. Glass the Unbreakable is good too Yeah He also has like small rules in amazing stuff too Like juice he was great in school days I even like him as stacks and good fellas
Starting point is 00:36:19 Yo school days is funny as fuck him in school days was fucking hilarious Oh he worked at the chicken joint right No, there was at the chicken joint. He was hanging out on the chicken joint. Yeah. Yo, Samuel got some iconic roles, man. I forgot about that role of school days. School days is interesting movie, to say the least.
Starting point is 00:36:42 Why? What do you mean? Oh, as a Kappa, you're offended. No, not a little. I love the movie School Days. I think it's great. I just think it was Spike. I've seen interviews about School Days,
Starting point is 00:36:53 and he's even talked to people from D9 about it. He had he had a bias, an admitted bias, and hate towards black Greek organizations. And it just, it just, it seeps through that movie of his hatred for them. That's all. But I mean, it does show up a terrible side that is realistic, especially at that time, with frats and sororities, period, not just D9 or black ones, but yeah. I'm tired of you. Always the same shit. He was so mad, bro. Sorry. You know, DeMara said that I can see that I see right now. The school days is a classic.
Starting point is 00:37:38 His rolling jungle fever, though. Gator? Yeah. Classic. Yeah, that's up. That's top five for sure. Classic. That's top five for sure.
Starting point is 00:37:45 That niggas was classic rolling gator. Snakes on a plane? All right. See. They always want to point out your shortcomings. That might be his cap. woman. For sure. Black Snake moan, snakes on a plane.
Starting point is 00:38:02 No, black snake moan was good. Don't do that. Do that was a good movie? It wasn't bad. Black snake moan was entertaining. I remember watching it. I was very young. It wasn't as bad. It's not as bad as snakes on a plane. Only movie worse than snakes on a plane is Shark Nato. Yeah. But what's the what's the deep blue sea? All right. Snakes on a plane. We're talking Samuel Jackson. Snakes on a plane or deep blue sea, which is worse?
Starting point is 00:38:25 Snakes on a plane. Snakes on a plane. Deep Lucy ain't that bad. Snakes on a plane is probably the worst movie of all the time. Do you think it was supposed to be that way? I don't think they... Like, I don't think it was supposed to be taken seriously. Like, I think they wrote that just so they...
Starting point is 00:38:39 They were probably high and were like, oh, how do we get Samuel Jackson to scream? Get these motherfucking snakes out this motherfucking plane. Wait, Samuel Jackson was an inglorious bastard? I don't remember his role in that. Also, the worst movies... Was there any black people in that movie? Yeah, I'm screaming.
Starting point is 00:38:54 The worst movie to ever exist is actually... baggage claim, but I don't even want to. What's baggage claim? I know what I'm. Paula Patton, it had like... Nah, that's not the worst. Don't know. I'm my mama. That movie is terrible. It had Trace songs in it, I think. Like, that movie was bad. Wait.
Starting point is 00:39:10 That's a baggage claim. It wasn't that bad. That wasn't that bad. It was terrible. But she's a flight attendant and then finally meets the one. Yeah. The worst ever, though? Oh, he's the narrator. He's the narrator. He's the narrator in Glores. Oh, okay. I was said, I know he wasn't on screen. He said, Quentin Tarantino ain't got no black being in his movies.
Starting point is 00:39:28 No, he got black. He's in Quentin Tarantino movie. I'm just saying, I know he wasn't on screen in that movie, though. I liked him in Jurassic Park where he hotboxed that place with cigarettes for the entire movie. You could smell the cigarettes coming off the screen. He played the guy that was, like, trying to hack the megabase data frame. He had big-ass glasses. Which Jurassic Park was that?
Starting point is 00:39:48 The first one, yeah. He ends up, I think, of course, Doc. I can't remember the first Jurassic Park. he's always being eaten by a shark a snake that's how they get him out of the kid that means they couldn't afford them any longer like they had to let him go like all right man we can't keep paying you um since we're speaking to old men in the younger generation there was a clip going around that samuel jackson was a functioning cracket
Starting point is 00:40:09 could crack start hallucinating thinking his daughter was suffocating from all the crack smoke run up the stairs saver run back down and he said he was a high functioning cracket there's a lot of people that are high-functioning crack well he's from that era where it was kind of common to smoke crack yeah
Starting point is 00:40:24 there's a lot of how functioning crackers you'd be surprised how many doctors lawyers like people that have really like make a lot of money like they people think
Starting point is 00:40:35 crack is just like you know you're a crackhead laying in your own vomit in the subway like no it's functioning crackheads without a doubt
Starting point is 00:40:42 Jordan Belford imagine imagine a dentist being a crackhead I'm pretty sure I'm sure there's plenty Some orthodontists do smoke crack for sure. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:40:53 Being our crack giving me a root canal. Oh my God. Probably pretty efficient if he was high functioning. And if you mistake your back molar for a crack rock. Get the work done for free. What the fuck is. I'm just saying. If you ever look at crack and look at your back molar, it's the same thing.
Starting point is 00:41:12 It's pretty similar. It looks, you know what I'm just saying? That's hilarious. Well, yeah, another Manhattan Plaza alumni. Samuel Jackson was a security guard there. Probably high on crack. I'm willing to bet. In Hell's Kitchen at that time?
Starting point is 00:41:29 1000%. I'm willing to bet he definitely did a shift while he was on crack before. Yeah, I'm sure it wouldn't be the first one. No. All right, let's get into some music. We got Netflix Zip with us now. Yeah, man. Zip, man.
Starting point is 00:41:43 Stamaris versus everybody. Yo, what's going on? Baby, what's going on? What's the timber you like? there upstate, man. It's hot, nigga. It's because there's a fire in Canada right now. The fire in Canada.
Starting point is 00:41:54 It's hot, nigs can't breathe. That's a good enough reason. Yeah. Yeah, but what's going on? Like, it's like upstate versus the city right now. 38 specials shooting at everybody. What's going on? But it all jokes aside, though.
Starting point is 00:42:07 I do kind of feel like this is low-key been brewing for a minute, though. Why you feel like that? Well, because for the last few years, anytime they start talking about the best of New York, the best rappers, they leave out the West Side guns, the Conways, the Bennies out of those, out of those, you know.
Starting point is 00:42:27 Do you think that's unfair? Yeah, it's unfair. It's unfair. If you include Westchester and Long Island, yeah, I think it's unfair. You just do the five boroughs, cool, whatever. Yeah. But if you have...
Starting point is 00:42:38 Technically, the locks aren't, they're not from New Jersey. They're from Westchester. Yeah. You go across the street and be in Long Island. Yeah. You got to go six miles. Six miles. hours. I mean to get the Buffalo.
Starting point is 00:42:52 You gotta go six hours to get that's a day. You could go to six hours and get the Virginia too. But you could go that way that's far. That's like the Midwest. That's like the Midwest. That's kind of like the Midwest. It ain't kind of like a goddamn thing. Cleveland is right there, right? Cleveland ain't the Midwest. How far Cleveland is from Buffalo? Let's talk about it. That's Lake Erie. I know what the fuck I'm talking about. I was up there. That's the Midwest. Them niggas like old school calls. They talk a little different. All of that. That's kind of far away from here. That's why I said. disconnect. It ain't like, oh, yo, niggas be hating on them. Them niggas is far away from here.
Starting point is 00:43:25 Yeah, but still, it's still New York, though. It's Buffalo, New York. It's Rochester, New York. It's Syracuse, New York. It's still New York. But I feel like it's been brewing, though. The conversation has been brewing. I'm pretty sure a lot of these guys from these places are feeling some type of way being left out, especially when they've been putting on for the last however many years, making some of the best music, having some of the best bars. I don't think they mad at the rappers. I can see them being mad at publications, but I think people from upstate are used to that,
Starting point is 00:43:55 which we've had a lot of state rappers. Not mad at rapists from the city, but in the situation with Spesh and Kiss, I can see how that is getting, how it's turning into something else now. Nah, man, I ain't going to lie, man. This shit with Speson Kiss and Kiss is crazy because Spess is saying,
Starting point is 00:44:14 why you won't take my money you ducking because you won't take my money I don't need your money if I needed the money I would take it if you had 100,000 Kiss is taking that but is Kiss worth 100,000 right now for a feature? I doubt that
Starting point is 00:44:30 right so you're not giving them that right so whatever you got for him he's I'm good on that I could get that to wear a nicka shirt on the podcast I also think Kiss would do features I don't think Kiss does features for money I think kiss does features because he fuck with you because he fuck with you If he fuck with you, he fuck with the record.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Yeah. Now, Spet's thing is Kiss told him to send him something he would give him a verse. I understand that. He said that. So that's why, so Spish sat in and said, don't tell me that because I might actually send you or something to a joint to hop on. But industry niggas, like, somebody told me that. They say, yo, an industry nigger is going to tell you no without saying no. For sure.
Starting point is 00:45:07 But special saying don't do that with him, though. Because he's not, you don't, you ain't have to say that, right? You special, man. You 38 special, right? You special. I got it. You special. You got to, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:45:20 I got to do what you mean. Nah. What the fuck? He said he's shooting at anybody. I don't really like, I'm going to keep it real. He's talking all that you niggas is too old to be talking about selling drugs or the aroma drugs. He's 40 something, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:38 He's named after a gun. How hypocritical is that? Yeah. That was his name when he first started rap. And these niggas was talking about this shit when they first started rapping. So I'm saying, what are we talking about here? Don't be like, you can't be named after a gun.
Starting point is 00:45:52 You couldn't be Joe Speci by now? Yo. Joe Speci is fucking hilarious. You couldn't be Joe Speci by now? Right. Like, you still got to be named after the gun? Mm-hmm. And you're talking about some niggins.
Starting point is 00:46:03 And you'd be talking about Coke too. For sure. So what's the difference? Like, that's kind of like, what are we really talking about here? Well, I think he's saying because Fat, Joe and Kiss is older. You know, Kiss is what, 51?
Starting point is 00:46:17 But Kiss doesn't, a kiss has a good balance of not just talking about that. The theme of the song was about the aroma of drugs. So I think Kiss just heard the hook or wherever Fat Joe was going and was like, oh, is what we talking about? All right. Nah, more, you're trying to play devil's advocate, bro. I know you cannot be saying a nigger can't be talking about Coke at 50. But you 40 talking about it. You close to 50 than 30.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Right. Yeah. How are you still talking about it? How you are, it's okay for you to do that? Right. You want to, his latest freestyle that he got up on the radar. He said he'll put a brick of coke on the nigger head.
Starting point is 00:46:53 So you can exchange cocaine for whatever type of currency you see fit. Yeah, you can do whatever you want to do with the cocaine. But another nigger can. You cannot do that, bro. That's some corny shit. If you was on some D1 shit saying that, I understand. I wouldn't have said nothing. All your shit positive.
Starting point is 00:47:09 You want some, yo, buy real estate this, do this, blah, blah, blah. If that was it, that was it. But you'll be talking this shit. Come on, son. That's corny, bro. Now, what about the obvious, what seems to be like the kind of the divide in between guys that are from the state of New York versus the rapists that are from the city of New York. But I don't think that's the case here. I just think this is a case in.
Starting point is 00:47:31 No, but there's other guys. There's other guys jumping in, though. Raw Chesterniggas is making free stows and all that. Yeah. It's starting to bubble into it. But at shooting specifically. at people in the five boroughs or at Jada kiss. Is this a Jada kiss thing or is this a New York City thing?
Starting point is 00:47:48 Well, I've seen one of them definitely shooting that kiss. But that's a kiss thing. That's a 38th special thing. You never been in the prison system. That's somebody that doesn't even rock with 38 special. That's what I'm saying. Like the upstate niggas is going to team up. That's a green double.
Starting point is 00:48:02 Yeah. A green double 38 special green double stole some jeans from them. James calling Gene Double. Will I. He was calling him Gene Double. He's in the comments section talking. He's telling the nigger that was calling him all type of things on the song. He telling the nigga, yo, get him.
Starting point is 00:48:20 Yeah. Get him. He got you before. Shout out to Green. Green get busy. But I watched a nigger kind of like dragged him around last year. Now I'm saying? And he in the common section telling that same nigger to get another nigga.
Starting point is 00:48:33 He don't even like you. So y'all just go team up, making some upstate shit. Okay. So that's what I'm saying. Even if I got an issue with you, the fact that. But they like that, though. But I'm saying. The fact that the rappers from the five boroughs,
Starting point is 00:48:44 or you have an issue with one of the rappers, one of the most legendary rappers from the five boroughs, fuck it, it's upstate against. Yeah, but all of them not going to get involved with that because I grew up with them niggas. All of them don't get involved with that shit. But the majority of them niggas, they on that. Like the east side of Rochester don't rock
Starting point is 00:49:00 with the west side of Rochester. In jail, they, it's Rochester. They together in jail. Right. The goal against the dick is for the city. Mm-hmm. So that's what I'm saying So now it seems like that's what it is with them
Starting point is 00:49:12 We have to murder one beef with each other in the town Right Get the jail, that's some town shit We ain't We ain't here Yeah But I mean in this situation That's what they call it
Starting point is 00:49:22 UsG Rochester Buffalo, Syracuse So they tell the Albany Niggas y'all niggas ain't really upstate They're not Albany not upstate It's up from you guys But to us it's like
Starting point is 00:49:35 You're niggas ain't really upstate I'm dead ass They tell them niggies Albany is far up 87. That's upstate New York. That's upstate. Up 87. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:44 Everything is up to y'all. Y'all call fucking Westchester. That's a joke, though. But Albany is definitely upstate. Albany is upstate. That's upstate. Come on. You go up 87 that far.
Starting point is 00:49:53 You're in upstate New York. Isn't Albany the capital in New York? Yeah. Yeah. That's upstate. Wait, what that got to do anything? That's upstate. That's the capital.
Starting point is 00:50:00 That's the capital. I've got shit of doing nothing. But like, even when y'all say upstate, it's just, it's because you're because y'all center New York City. So like anything more than 10 miles up from y'all is upstate. And it's like, shit be at the, like, the middle, like, Syracuse is dead smack in the middle of New York's state. But, like, they call it upstate. We're in central New York.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Yeah, we're literally in central New York. But it's up from y'all. So because y'all are all the way at the bottom, anything above y'all's upstate. Yeah, but that shit ain't far from Canada either, though. The St. Lawrence River right there. That shit is fall. Yeah, you're not about to question. Yeah, you know that.
Starting point is 00:50:34 I've been in the jail in every one of them locations. Buffalo I was in Wendy Rochester I was in Attica That Syracuse Five points all burned I was in all that shit All burned 30 minutes from Syracuse Them little joints used to get on the bus
Starting point is 00:50:48 And come see them niggas They was official Where the mother city bus Jump off the city bus I'm dead ass Oh Zip I need you to help me Visit somebody in Rikers I don't know how
Starting point is 00:50:58 I don't know how to do that need I ain't been on Rikers Island a long time And I I need you to help me Visit somebody on Rikers Island Is it a Q100 Like the worst visit in a state. Would you want to give you to go back?
Starting point is 00:51:10 That should have taken you four hours to get an hour of visit. What you want to do? It'd take you four or five hours to get an hour visit on Rackis Island. That's the worst visit in the world, man. How would you like zip the help you get a visit? Because I don't know the, I don't know. I don't know what to do. You got to go get on that bus.
Starting point is 00:51:27 You got to go across the bridge and you get off. They go back, who you were here to see? It's you got to fill a stuff out. And then you go away for a while. They might have a dog. The last famous that day or some shit. They might have a dog. sniffing around.
Starting point is 00:51:39 Yeah, so don't go boo for nothing. Yeah. Don't bring that. You have to get on another bus and take you to whatever that. Fill it out first. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:45 Fill it out. If you need help, if you need help, I show you with the knaps how to put them together. I'll put you all. So he was, just that he would help me stick drugs up my ass. I didn't say I didn't say that.
Starting point is 00:51:56 Why you think I was that? I said I help you put the balloons together. Yeah. And now I say they hold a weed inside their pussy. Yeah. I'm saying that's a nice. It's a way easier.
Starting point is 00:52:04 Yeah, he ain't say that about the hat. Oh my God. But you don't got to, do what I'm saying? I asked it for them. Zipov said, how can I help you? And it's like, no, I hope you boost some shit. Like, you see what I'm saying? They're going to make you squat and cough and all that shit.
Starting point is 00:52:15 You're going to come flopping right on your ass. That column going to burst. That she's going to watch. Reggie in the air. Cade two everywhere. Cade two everywhere. The barrace going to be right to call it us like. Pussy numb as fuck.
Starting point is 00:52:28 You have a collect call from, you know, Ma, they got me. I'm hanging right. This niggas Zip said it was official. It was going to work. Please press one Fuck y'all Would you all? Would you all
Starting point is 00:52:44 I don't know baby It depends on what you're doing You're not with the bag Yeah That's a light bail You ain't getting up They start investigating me
Starting point is 00:52:52 They start investigating the nigga That came to bail you out They do? Yeah Gotta go through the finances Yeah Where'd you get this money? Send a lawyer
Starting point is 00:53:00 I ain't going up there Send a lawyer To go get it I ain't going I ain't going over there Hell no I always tell people that I'd be like
Starting point is 00:53:06 Please don't Don't give me an excuse To go to jail because, like, my bosses will bail me out just for the story alone. The story alone they'll pay for us. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm getting a lawyer for sure. We're going to talk bad about you, though.
Starting point is 00:53:16 That's a fact. But, yeah, man, I don't know, man. I don't know where this is going with Spesh. I just want him to rap. He was on his couch saying he was down to rap. He been rapping. Is there a... No, of course, Special.
Starting point is 00:53:27 He didn't say nothing to Kiss rapping. Kiss, I didn't really think the record with Fadjo and having Caled in the bat was, was like some straight diss at 38 Special. Plus that freestyle, I don't think was either. But Kiss is wrapped twice. twice since special said let's rap. Well, he had a couple of balls. He said, is this about a verse or is this about a career?
Starting point is 00:53:44 Yeah. No, a little shot. Yeah, I agree. He's definitely talking about him. Yeah. Which I think warrants special to reply. So I'm saying I want to hear a special rap. I just think it was some crazy.
Starting point is 00:53:51 I feel like Chish might have like played itself because if you only going to say that, you leave room for this nigga to go crazy. Well, I think he was just, you know what I'm saying? Temperature check where he replies, I don't think kids is going to come out the gate with everything you can say. He's going to wait. I don't know if that's the right strategy. Why?
Starting point is 00:54:10 Because Spish has a whole clip. Yeah, Special. I'm not doubting 38 Special whatsoever. I'm just not doubting Jada Kiss. I'm not doubting. I'm just saying you don't want to leave room. I think Spesha's nice. He left room for Son to go crazy.
Starting point is 00:54:20 I said that as soon as I heard it. Like, that's all he going to say. Leaves room for Kiss to reply to whatever that is. We've seen a million times people just check the temperature real quick. Here's a light shot just to see what type of time we're on. All Kiss is going to do is say how he really feel like he don't think Special is that dope. Because that's all it really is. Like Kish just don't think Spish is that dope.
Starting point is 00:54:38 sound like a gangster from the 1930s. Yeah, something like, yeah, that's what he's going to do because to me, that's what it boils down to.
Starting point is 00:54:46 But I like that Slesh sound like that. You like that? Yeah, he don't sound like nobody. That's why I like Smash because he has that like your accent on here. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:54:54 I think that's a lot of upstate, a lot of like a name from the Dick Tracy movie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hi. Yeah, but I think that's what
Starting point is 00:55:05 it's going to ball down to. He's got to score, right? Yeah. He's going to tell him that he's just don't. He don't think he that dope. That's what it is. Who?
Starting point is 00:55:12 Kiss don't respect. It got to be that. He don't respect Special like that. But I'm saying I think Special got mad when he started seeing Benny, all the other upstate niggas on Jada Kiss platform. That big-ass platform like he ain't getting a look. Somebody said his shit flop too. He just put a tape out a couple months ago.
Starting point is 00:55:29 You know what I'm saying? So he might be pissed off. He put a tape out. He don't get no, he don't get a chance to do a promo run. These other niggas put tapes out. They do a promo. more runs and all that. He, that shit sounds kind of salty to me.
Starting point is 00:55:42 He's like a dame dad's situation. Why he was his wife? I don't think is that. I think with all this happened, I don't know if you saw on Twitter, like, Smesh was getting his flowers from a lot of people ransom. Like, people started giving the history
Starting point is 00:55:52 of how long Spet's been in this and how many people Spetsch has put on and gave their first shot, which I was happy to see. But I think Spet's starting to realize that that doesn't get you the promo that you may deserve and doing shit like this
Starting point is 00:56:04 is what sparks people talking about you. But Spech put a bunch of people on and that didn't get him the promo run you're talking about. Now he sees what this does and this gets traction and we know special is far from stupid. So that's why, yeah, is there a lot of hypocrisy and what he's saying about 50 year old this and that? Of course there is.
Starting point is 00:56:21 And I know Special knows there's hypocrisy in that. But this is working. It's working him right now. Now he's on more podcasts. He's getting more clips. More eyes it is. And more people that weren't just, you know, a casual fan want to hear what specials to say.
Starting point is 00:56:34 Yeah. Like, that shit sent me to the like, Once he said he smoked kids on his song, I've been feeling like I don't like the way he says like a gangster from the 1930s, and I'm saying? So I went back, I listened. I've been listening to him,
Starting point is 00:56:49 I'm saying? Yeah. He talked. You know what I'm saying? No, special. He talked. He talked. I think, but like, to Rory's point,
Starting point is 00:56:54 though, I do think that this is beneficial for Spesch because more people are talking about him, people are checking out his music. And I do think he has a clip for kids ready to go. Oh, 100%. And I think Special is at that point in, His career, you know, it's not like he's signed to anyone specific or has to harbor certain relationships. That's why, I'm shooting everybody.
Starting point is 00:57:14 I'm going to keep it real at this point. He doesn't. But this is the rap beef I like. Like, you said you was going to give me a verse. You never did. I spoke about it. You go on your song with that joke. So that what you're really going to say, nigger?
Starting point is 00:57:26 You really a fan, nigga. You was just trying to give me money to give me. What you really going to fucking say on a song trying to diss me? Who's not a fan of kiss? Right. So what you're going to get on the song? Me saying I'm saying. Me saying you a fan of me is not a this.
Starting point is 00:57:37 Yeah, but it's like, it really kind of like nullifies. Yeah, but it's not a man in your word. You're not a man in your word. You said send you a joint. You're going to send me a verse. You never did. It seemed like you duck and wreck. It seems like you, now we ain't saying kiss is ducking wreck. But Spatka's say that in a bar. It seemed like you ducking wreck. Or you just don't want to take my money. Or you just don't think I'm that nice. Okay, well, let me show you how nice I am. If I was kissing them nigs, I'd dress up like Dick Tracy and them niggas yellow trench coats that had to match
Starting point is 00:58:10 the yellow trench coat with the hat to match get the old school called Tommy gun and rap like that with the zoosuits on and all that yeah and rap like that nigga so I write your name with machine guns and the side of the tank stows hanging out the side of that shit
Starting point is 00:58:24 all that crazy that's what I would do some gangsters from the 1930s I can't wait though because I do think special is I mean I'm sure as rappers do they load up he got a clip ready to go niggas be trying to say
Starting point is 00:58:39 yo spesch though who he think he is doing I'm telling niggas that nigger been rapping for 20 years what you mean who he think he is he did he got he got he got the he got every right yeah he got the cash say to do that
Starting point is 00:58:51 I ain't taking nothing front of nigger I ain't no real big fan but I ain't I give credit what credit do you right that's respect niggas be talking about oh yo who he think he is talking about kiss like that nigga kisses a man and so is he right I'm saying he fell away
Starting point is 00:59:04 and so I you say what you say Some of this, I'm not going for this shit. And I'm saying, like, you know, you understand what I'm saying? I'm not going for this. Oh, y'all, y'all, y'all niggis is 50 years old talking about Coke. So what? Mm-hmm. You 40 named after a gun.
Starting point is 00:59:19 That's the same kind of ignorance if you ask me. And I don't mind it. Me personally, I don't give a fuck. Right. Yeah. Let's see what this goes. No, but this is the type of rap beef I like, though, because it's not, it's not stemming from a beef, like, I don't like you. is stemming from
Starting point is 00:59:36 you told me the senior joint for a verse and you never sent the verse back in rap I like that type of like alright so fucking because now what's better than getting the verse from somebody getting in a battle but when you start talking about yo you niggas ain't live certain shit and all that
Starting point is 00:59:53 nigga you don't know what niggas really did because niggas take a nigga father saying yo he went to private school as a nigga wasn't outside and that's some dumb shit because my father and my uncle went to child from school. Right.
Starting point is 01:00:05 And them niggas went to jail for the worst shit you could go to jail for a real. You know what I'm saying? Like, and so that's that. You know, I'm saying, like, I know for a fact going to private school don't mean you wasn't outside doing some shit at all. You know what I'm saying? So, you know, and that's an angle like. On a private school just mean your parents tried to give you the best.
Starting point is 01:00:23 A better education. A chance of a better education. A couple more dollars. A better head start than the rest of the field. That's all that means. Yeah. Say that at Cardinal Hayes and see the point. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:34 But I mean, I think we get, I think we get a record, freestyle, whatever, from Spesh. Latest mid next week. I feel like he was been pulled to take off. I agree. I feel like he's been pulled to take off. Well, not, it's not too late. I feel like it's dragging. It's dragging.
Starting point is 01:00:50 It's dragging. Go rap. Yeah, I don't feel like you should have went back to Bagfield. And I'm saying, shout out the Bagfield. I liked that. I liked that. I liked that interview. It was a good interview.
Starting point is 01:00:59 They got a lot out of that. But I feel like you should have rap first. And then went on Bagfield. I'm saying and explain why you were saying this shit you were saying instead of explaining insane this shit so what you're going to come say this shit in the rhyme now yeah but you got you already told us this yeah that's what I'm saying like but then Jim jumped in that shit was done for you said about Jim is true though bro Jim is not a ball rap nigga Jim is a vibe but on the on the on that podcast though um park out I fuck with them what's
Starting point is 01:01:28 their name again the podcast that Jim did you did it too you did that show no funny shit no funny shit no funny shit I fuck with no shout to no funny shit But Jim did say They were trying to get y'all on there Yeah Jim did say that special was nice though Like he gave special He was like yo special is nice though
Starting point is 01:01:43 Like he could he could rap So it's not like he's all over to dissing them though You start you That's like a backhand comment I'm saying you start dissing You're talking about niggas Niggas can't dress Niggas don't get no money
Starting point is 01:01:52 Blah blah blah blah blah Like you fuck all out I can rap shit I ain't trying to hear none of that Yeah I like with special sponsor Like you're not even a rap Or it's about bars
Starting point is 01:02:00 Yeah Right But is that Jim has been saying He better than Nause Like nothing shocks me when Like you think he's gonna tiptoe around 38th special He said you I got the best catalog in New York City history
Starting point is 01:02:11 Yeah yeah yeah yeah he said none of the niggins from his era got a better catalog Yeah so yeah that's Jimmy being Jimmy yeah I was 38 special I wouldn't take that personal Do you got 37 projects? Jimmy has a great great discography 37 projects Jim about 37 projects? I didn't know that I'm trying to tell you some shit I did I did the math 37 yeah and that's why he think he got a better cataloged. He thinks quantity. He probably has a bigger catalog.
Starting point is 01:02:38 He thinks quantity supersedes quality. But Jimmy's last four albums have been great. Eight solo studio albums, four collaborative albums, 19 official mixtapes. So that's 31, yeah? Yeah. I mean, I think his albums are great. I don't know if it's top.
Starting point is 01:02:55 Could you name 10 out of 37? No. I don't know every Jim mixed. I can't name 10 Jim albums. He has eight albums. poem to me is one of the best projects. El Capo was incredible. Yeah. Waste of talent is incredible. Like, I think Jimmy
Starting point is 01:03:10 puts out great. He does. I don't know if it's the best in New York City. No, I don't know about that. Yeah, I'm not going to have far. But I think Jimmy is very much underrated with this. He got some dope. He got some dope projects, though, for sure. Y'all saw what Flex said last night on Twitter? About DJ enough of them niggas charging niggas? You put them niggas business in the street.
Starting point is 01:03:26 Listen, man. Everybody said I was lying about the Radio Rico shit. I mean, I know, I know we're distributing. through I-Hart, but I'm still going to say it. I-Hard just settled on their payola scandal, and now they have to monitor things way differently. And what Flex is saying is what I didn't say at the time, because it wasn't my place to say. But if you look at the timing of when I said the radio possibility of a RICO or that they were investigating major outlets in New York City
Starting point is 01:03:57 on radio, it was around the time that people were getting fired and things were switching up between the two biggest hip-hop radio stations. And I'm not saying this about DJ enough. I do not know. I was not there. But Flex said DJ enough. I got you fired, question mark. Did French Montana pay you 25K
Starting point is 01:04:13 for the heavy hitter conference call? It may no pay you 40K for the mixed show list ads. Was Norrie offered a discount of 2,500 for a month of spins? Did Miles Brando pay you 10K to perform a mix show meeting and get added to the mix show list? Was DJ Wavey asked to pay $2,500 to spin on summer mix weekend? Question mark. questions that DJ Flex is asking enough. And Paola is a crime. I'm not accusing enough of that,
Starting point is 01:04:38 just repeating what has been in paperwork. And yeah, this is the shit people were talking about with the New York City payola thing. Not saying what's true and what's not true, but this has been a thing for over a year to the point that IHeart had settled with the FCC for a Paola lawsuit just now. They have to adopt a new reporting measure to ensure legal compliance. There was a lot of risk of what was going on in radio for the past few years. Somehow that got dragged into Drake bullshit, but that's just what the internet does.
Starting point is 01:05:11 What I've been talking about is exactly what I-Hart settled on. And from what I saw, plus more is what Flex is talking about as well. This wasn't like a huge secret in the industry of what was going on with the payola shit. The people that said I was making this shit up.
Starting point is 01:05:26 I didn't just walk in here and be like, hey, payola. No, this has been a thing for quite some time. Our Heart Media, the largest owner of radio stations in the U.S. agreed to enter into a consent decree with FCC to settle a probe the agency launched last year into our heart media's compliance with federal rules prohibited in a specific form of payola dubbed showola, which involves radio stations pressure on artists to perform as station host music shows. Oh, that's crazy. Or festivals for free or for reduced payment in exchange for more favorable airtime for their songs per the FCC. see. It sound like how non was involved with that shit. Because some of that
Starting point is 01:06:03 shit they used to be playing. I used to be like, how did this make it to the rainy? Well, I think, yeah. So, so I heart is, is out of the huge conglomerate with... How some of these artists get a summer jam spot? Like who? I mean, we ain't doing that, but I'm just saying, I'd be like,
Starting point is 01:06:17 who... I don't know if I've seen anything on summer jail that looked like a blatant pale of me, or I was like, there's no way they could be on there. All right. I have, but, you know, again, I'm not that in touch with was going on with the new music as much as I used to be.
Starting point is 01:06:32 Well, I mean, I think Hot 97, because they've never been on a major, major conglomerate the way other radio stations have, IHeart, obviously, owning the fucking world at this point. That's more specific DJs, I feel like.
Starting point is 01:06:47 Whereas IHard may have had a structure here with certain employees, but with Hot 97, MS Communications, I forgot the name they're with now. That is kind of small peanuts to some degree. Like, it would have to be specific DJs. There is no station rate for payola at that point.
Starting point is 01:07:01 This is brown bag money here. Yeah. Cash. Pull up. Yeah, just leave that shit on the wheel well of my car. Right. And we're cool. But, I mean, I don't want to put this on enough without evidence or anything.
Starting point is 01:07:14 No, for sure. I'll get that. Yeah, because flexing it don't make it true. Well, I mean, a lot of people gave. Well, Flex was asking questions. Yeah. Well, you know I don't really defend Flex like that. But they were accusing Flex of being the reason why enough was
Starting point is 01:07:28 fired the way he was fired as well and then flex took a six hour time slot and i had heard behind the scenes of what flex put out there so that's why i didn't jump on that train of like because i fuck with dj enough everyone's like why would you why would flex do that to enough right like they friends this and that well yeah there may have been some accusations in the background that flex has no power if you get accused of this flex can't step in and be like nah it's illegal yeah flex can't stop that so you think this was going on behind the scenes. Hell, I know it well.
Starting point is 01:08:00 Oh, so yeah, because I remember when it first happened, like Flex Act came out and was saying something, I was listening to it. But, like, it was like, damn, I mean, I think I've been in like 20 years ago, 30 years again, type of shit. You know what I'm saying? And again, not saying... If y'all niggins was doing this type of shit, like taking
Starting point is 01:08:16 bread and all that, the fans involved and all that. Get up, get away from me. Yeah. And again, not saying that this is true. This is alleged on enough. Even if there's talk about it, Hot 97 is to be like, no, even if there's chatter, please get away from us. We can't afford that. And Flex, as much power
Starting point is 01:08:32 as he does that he has a hot 97, he can't stop somebody from getting fired for potential payola? No. He can't step in and be like, nah, let's let illegal shit keep going. I can't do that. So I do give Flex some grace there because a lot of people shited on him when
Starting point is 01:08:48 enough was fired and everything started switching up and he took over all the time slots. It looked like Flex was like... It looked like he got enough out of there so he can get more time on the air, but Yeah, I don't know. I don't, again, I don't know the nuances or the details of any of that. But showola or payola has been a thing in the music business.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Forever. Since the music business. The more they, even if they clean it up, they're just going to find other ways. Other ways to do it. To do it. Like, inside of trading is always going to happen. Absolutely. All payola really is.
Starting point is 01:09:18 But I don't know. Mall, the beard was shimmering in the Yankee Stadium. With all the light shows, everything, it was just reflecting off this lush beard and that is because of basque and lather. Everyone at, wasn't even looking at Jay at the show. Starting point is 01:13:34 that you like to say, I'd like to collaborate with this person. This is
Starting point is 01:13:41 Sweet 305. Listen to Sweet 305 with Lele Pons as part of my Culture Podcast Network on the
Starting point is 01:13:48 Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. New music that is out
Starting point is 01:13:58 right now. This might be one of those new music Fridays that I'm kind of excited about.
Starting point is 01:14:03 Album-wise we get a Steve Lacey album, which has Siza and and Erica Badu on it.
Starting point is 01:14:07 That is out now. Masego, full project. Sago. Larry June, who has Jene Aiko and Music Soul Child on there. We get Rome Streets. We get a Sid album, which is adding. Sid? Yes. Oh, shit. Which is a hilarious title. Yo, back to my lesbian. I was about to say
Starting point is 01:14:24 it's giving Mall's theory more. If this Bid album is crazy, Sid, thank you. You give us some, you give us some cretice to what I'm saying. The lesbians are running R&B right now. I'm excited because it's been a minute since Sid gave a project. Shit, I think since NBA All-Star in New Orleans, I think, was the last time
Starting point is 01:14:44 we got to... I just remember listening to Sid. Yeah, it's been a minute. She also said in an interview that we're getting an internet album January 227. Oh, my God. So I'm excited for the Sid shit. But also singles, Travis Scott,
Starting point is 01:14:58 James Blake, Little Baby, produced by Farrell. I heard the snippet. I'm cool. You didn't like it? I didn't like the pairing. Okay. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:15:09 Just not for me. Hopefully it works. I'm not here to eight, but. Al Bial featuring Joey Badass. Roy Woods coming out. There's a lot of good music. Al Bialie Badaass. Rome Street's got an album, right?
Starting point is 01:15:22 Yes, sir. Tori Lanes is putting out a project. A whole album. I did hear a snippet. And the snippet sounded, yeah. It's called a... When that shit came out, I was fucking with that for a while. Made you think I was gone, but...
Starting point is 01:15:35 So, I mean, I'm sure that will do well, because there's a whole part of the internet that may not even like Torrey Lane's music but just love what he represents and stands for as an activist. Do you like that last project he put out? Tori's very hit or miss for me with music. Like super hit or miss.
Starting point is 01:15:50 I don't think I've ever heard of Tori Lane's album or song where I was like, this is kind of good. It's either I dislike it fully or I like it. Like Tori, when Tori mimics other artists, I can't stand that shit.
Starting point is 01:16:06 Sorry. Just one rap Just one R&B Like Torrey Lanes is super talented But I can't take the imitation form of Tori Lanes music When he just full-blown imitates another artist
Starting point is 01:16:18 Okay I don't particularly love that I need this rap disc man I don't that arm B shit I ain't in it at I mean an R&B nigga I ain't on B smooth And why not man
Starting point is 01:16:29 I ain't A MB dude But why you want to just put some R&B on To just chill I thought though Drake and Fab and shit like that That don't flash type of shit I mean Okay
Starting point is 01:16:36 Drake, five. Can you get the SID album? I'm curious. Tori. But Tori R&B. You don't fuck with Tori R&B? The chick's tape stuff is not really. I don't really lie.
Starting point is 01:16:47 That's not my shit. Okay. But sometimes, like, Tori can rap, but sometimes he does too much of a Drake impression where I'm like, I'll just go listen to Drake. I don't particularly need to listen to this. Yeah. So I don't know.
Starting point is 01:16:59 I mean, all Tory bullshit aside, I'm sure this will do well because he hasn't recorded. County Jailson and Kice, niggas, yeah, Titi. That shit was fire. I'm sure Toie's going to have the jail bars on here. That, yo, that last shit, he was talking real jail shit. He's been there for a little bit.
Starting point is 01:17:13 Yo, that shit was fire. Almost died in there. Right after that. They trying to kill. He was talking to that shit like nothing can happen until they wowed them up. You got a first day out someone there, R&B version. Ryan said he's not out. Thank you for that, Ryan.
Starting point is 01:17:32 Same day. Thank you for that, Ryan. He's not out. Yeah. I'm still in. All right, do we have voice mails? You've got mail. I'm going to see it with the vines of lyricists, like, circulating.
Starting point is 01:17:51 I'm curious, like, what y'all would think. I feel like a lyricist is, like, it's, like, two, like, branches. It's like, it's like a punchline rapper, and it's, like, a real, like, lyricist. Like, like, the punchline rapper is, like, the party rapper of lyricist. like you don't really need a lot of context, like you don't really have to flow together, like make a dope punchline you just say, you know. Versus like a real lyricist, like, um, like Nass, for instance, like you don't have, you don't use punchlines every line. And his punchlines are like usually contextual, like usually have to listen to what he said before or after to like understand the punchline or for it to like flow, you know? like a punchline rapper
Starting point is 01:18:42 would be like the Joker like the Joker to me is like Lil Wayne if you were removed all the Lowellane substance like it's pure punchline but I'm curious what y'all feel like defines like a lyricist This is what got Lupe in trouble
Starting point is 01:18:57 I ain't gonna lie because people be saying yo he's a lyricist he's a lyricist and I don't get it Loupe? No I'm just saying anybody Oh he's a lyricist He's not a lyricist I don't get that nigga is rhyming he's made
Starting point is 01:19:09 words rhyme he's being lyrical respectfully that's how they go if you're making words rhyme you're being lyrical yeah and i mean when i was in the hospitals when uh lupa was getting all that flack so i didn't follow too much of it i just saw he was getting killed what he said it was for his lyricist opinion where he where he really got killed where he was saying like me and naz aren't the highest lyricist somebody like a battle rapper and ural is more of a lyricist than us and then that's when he got killed it was like now naz isn't a lyricist and that's not what lupay was saying it's kind of similar to what this guy's question is. Like, are you, one, if you use a bunch of fucking punchlines and entendras, similes, metaphors,
Starting point is 01:19:48 or if you're like Nas, who's just a great storyteller? Nas don't use a lot of punchlines or entendras at all. He started off like that. He did, but album two on, no, Nas is just great at rapping and telling stories, and you feel everything he's saying, the content he talks about. But Nas isn't going to punchline you to death. Like, Jay will do that, but he'll be. put a bunch of entendras and slight punchlines in.
Starting point is 01:20:12 That's more his style. But nobody would say Nas is less or more of a lyricist than Jay. That's so I feel them. I don't know this question. No, people would say, especially after... Some people would say that. Actually, a lot of people would say that. I think they're just on the same level.
Starting point is 01:20:25 I put them just both. No, I agree with you, but I'm saying a lot of people would say between Nas or Jay, who's the more lyrical rapper, people would say nah. Well, this goes to this gentleman's question and what Lupe was saying, why? Because to me, Hove uses more punchlines and entendras than Nas. For sure. But I don't think either of them are better. I think they're both top tier elite lyricists.
Starting point is 01:20:45 So I don't really know at this point, based off the reaction I saw of people what they did to Lupe for bringing that point up. Like, all right, is it punchlines or is it because you're really good at rap? I can't. I don't know if I'm ready to agree that the punchline makes you lyrical. I don't know if I'm ready to say it's the punchline that would make you. Content substance. Of you being able to rhyme really well. that first plus the content and what you're saying.
Starting point is 01:21:11 It doesn't necessarily have to be some poetic metaphor to be a good lyricist. I feel like the niggas with the best flows, they say they're lyrical. If a nigger flow is like that, I feel like not like you're saying, you see how you keep naming Nause, Hove, I bet you a nigger say M&M is lyrical.
Starting point is 01:21:28 Of course. That's the flows. The niggas get on the beat and they be inside that beat and they become part of the beat and so now niggas say they're lyrical as opposed to the punchline, nigga, where he didn't really, ah,
Starting point is 01:21:39 he just line after line, he's giving you pain, pain, pain, you understand what I'm saying? Because, like, I ain't gonna lie. Little Wayne did used to have a lot random punchlines. I used to like that. But Fab was considered a punchline rapper.
Starting point is 01:21:50 He wasn't like that. Those wasn't random. He used to line you up for the punchlines. Banks was PLK. He used to line you up for the punchlines. That shit is fire. But that shit is not easy, bro. No, it's not easy to...
Starting point is 01:22:02 Fab Wayne and Banks would do that on mixtapes, but then when it was time to make a record, they'd have subtle punchlines that weren't like that. Because Wayne, Wayne would do that on the drought series, but then on the Carter, when it's time to make fucking wheelweed officer shit, he's not going to do a million punchlines in that regard.
Starting point is 01:22:21 They had different balance. Whereas I hate the rapper that just rhymes really well has a crazy flow, but you ain't say a fucking thing. You're just flowing well, and it's just like, all right, this is cool, I guess. When I hear a lyrical, I always thought of the bass word lyrics. So I always thought it was about vocabulary and who sounds the most intelligent when they're rapper.
Starting point is 01:22:42 Lyrics, I never thought about flow. But that's just me personally. That's what I mean, that's part of the-low got to be there, though. Lyrics. I feel like the flow is the most important. Yeah, that's the version of melody for a rapper is that. The cadence. Like, that's, I mean, it's all part of it.
Starting point is 01:22:57 It all adds to, because you'd be using words and if the flow is terrible, it don't even matter. Yeah, you'd be saying some shit, but if you ain't flowing, like, if you're flowing and you ain't using. But you could be, you could be saying some shit not flowing. It's trash. You could be not really saying nothing, but you flowing is fire. But I don't think that makes you a lyricist. If you, if you rap it about little to nothing but your flow is track, I mean, with your flow is fire.
Starting point is 01:23:21 Like, I don't think that makes you a lyricist. Like, what are your lyrics saying? The niggas that you might have had the dictionary out a little bit for this when he was writing this rhyme. That's what they'd be saying when they were saying. Niggas that read books. Niggas that read books make great rappers. That's part of, to me, well, for sure.
Starting point is 01:23:36 You get better subject matter. Yeah. But that's part of the whole renegade who killed who. To me, it was all about the flow. Yeah, because that shit was one of the greatest lies ever told in rap. Yeah, because...
Starting point is 01:23:49 Eminem murdered you on your own shit. And people, like, just jacked it because now I said it. But this is what I'm saying. My son, Nause got two of the biggest lies ever told a rap bag. What's the second one? What's the second one? It pop is dead.
Starting point is 01:24:01 At the time, I know why he said it. He was wrong, though. Rap might have been dying. Hip-hop was up and jumping. He said he was early. He was early. It might not be dead. His pop was up and jumping, though.
Starting point is 01:24:12 Soldier Boy was popping, right? Yeah, but I don't think Nause was to that. Which song hip-hop got his name from? Yeah, the album. Hip-hop. Yeah. Right? Because this is what hip-hop is about when they first come out.
Starting point is 01:24:25 Just do your thing, man. That's what Soldier Boy was doing. He was just doing this thing. Hip-pop was alive and kicking rap. That shit that they strong-alm hip-hop from niggas. He was about the 80s. Yeah, hip-hop. The rap.
Starting point is 01:24:36 The rap. Niggas couldn't rap no more. Yeah. Niggas can't rap no more. Rap might have been dying, but not hip-hop. He was a lot of head of his time because, like, people like Jeezy got offended. Remember when Jiz and Nause had an issue at that time? All the niggis. And Jeezy's fire.
Starting point is 01:24:48 Like, he was ahead of his time. Now you could absolutely say that. But you still have people that can really rap. There's a balance. But that's the whole, the lyrical shit, N, Eminem, and Jay on Renegate. Like, to me, Jay was spitting. Now, the flow, the M-U. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:04 Since I'm in the position to talk to these kids and they listen, I ain't the policy. It was like an instrument. But then Jay, when he said, I had to hustle my back to the walls, ashy knuckles, pocket filled with a lot of land, not a cent, got a vent, a lot of innocent lives. What's on the project bench? That's lyrical, too.
Starting point is 01:25:19 My demeanor 30 years, my senior. My childhood didn't mean much. Only regs the greener. Like, come on, man. That's all lyric. They both went nuts. Yes. When I said that, I never, I get it.
Starting point is 01:25:30 Again, flow. Flow. Flow sometimes could dress it up and make it like, because it ain't what you say is how you say. All right, so what's more lyricism? What like cannabis would do
Starting point is 01:25:41 or Nas doing a song like Rewind? There's no punchline in Rewind but is that not top tiered lyricism? To me, yes. But some people say cannabis is more lyricism. And I feel like, but I feel like I was like no hell, she was like me kiss. I feel like that was a punchline.
Starting point is 01:25:59 I was like no hell. She was like me kiss. That was definitely a puncher. Got on the knee. That was a punchline. That was definitely punchline. Yeah, yeah. That was a punchline for sure.
Starting point is 01:26:10 For sure. Yeah, I feel like that was a punchline. That was just a totally different way of the punchline. But that's like, I was like, I was like, no hell. She was like me kids got on the knees, balled the head. Yeah. Spitting back in my dick. That was a punchline.
Starting point is 01:26:26 I don't care. On the back of that soul. That was definitely. Yeah, that was fine. But yeah, I thought it was funny that Nause had a voicemail. Yo, it's not. You call that number, you know who you call. Yo, it's Nause, leave it.
Starting point is 01:26:36 It's anybody. Niles don't got a, you think Nyes had a voicemail? No, I don't think. You say, yo, it's Nause, leave it. If I'm calling that number, I know who I'm calling it. Everybody had to have a voicemails back then, son. You had to have a voicemail. You had to.
Starting point is 01:26:48 You had to, so much it was the king of New York. You guys got fat wiring. It's my turn. That's what I had a speaker like this with the phone? Yeah. Word of my vote. Get you got to hear you listen to us. Should they write?
Starting point is 01:26:58 You got to do it over. The audio be too low. Yeah, next cell. Maybe this was a white thing. What I hated the most, when people did the voicemails, they'd be like, hello, and you think you were talking to them. Oh, my God. What's up?
Starting point is 01:27:09 All right. You can leave a message after, yo, that shit. I should get me every time. Too much time on you. That shit happened to a nigga in a precinct. I couldn't stand when niggas did that. Oh, I, you know, I could only imagine. You're trying to get bail.
Starting point is 01:27:20 In a precent? You get that voice. You can't, you ain't even getting bail. You just calling them letting them know you there? Yeah. And nigger playing on the phone? Yo, not right now. For real.
Starting point is 01:27:30 My bad. I never called. Yeah, I'm never calling you again. Well, I feel like we didn't answer and I don't have an answer. I don't know anymore. Yeah, it's hard. It's kind of whatever you feel. Yeah, I don't know, man.
Starting point is 01:27:43 Again, if you want to get into lyrics, make you a lyricist and then the words that you choose to use and, you know, I guess. But again, I like when rap is also like, Jay is probably the king of saying a word a different way, just so it rhymes with another word. Big was great. Big was the best of that. Big was really good at that.
Starting point is 01:28:04 I don't know if big. Whoa. And T-Pain. Was cancer. What? I could put you. He wasn't outside of school. Yeah, he don't know.
Starting point is 01:28:12 He don't know. Oh, what's- Kemp. No. Was Kemp? Okay. I thought she said,
Starting point is 01:28:18 was canceled? Big? Like, how did he? When they canceled B-I-G? Um, but yeah, I don't know. It goes, it goes to,
Starting point is 01:28:25 Who shot you? Separate the wheat from the opso. Leet Harder. Like, how you make? Absolutely. All the creep, these Brooklyn streets. That nigga Big did that,
Starting point is 01:28:35 brother. Yeah, but no, he didn't, he didn't change no words on there to make it round. What, what did he change?
Starting point is 01:28:40 Absolutely. Absolutely. He just chopped it up. Yeah, he changed the way he would say it. That's what you just said. Change the way you say a word. No way.
Starting point is 01:28:47 Jay, like how she said, Wisconsin, it's Wisconsin. It's not Wisconsin. Like, Jay does that with a lot of his, a lot of his bars.
Starting point is 01:28:56 And it's like, that's not even, but to for it to rhyme with another word. I don't know if Biggie ever did that more than just. Like, let a nigga try me. I'm gonna kill your whole motherfucking family, not family. That's just Detroit.
Starting point is 01:29:08 The fact that she quoted Dage Loaf in this conversation is crazy to me. I used to fuck with Dage Loaf. I fuck with Dage Loaf. I'm gonna grab Dage Loat. A Dajloat throw that in there. That shit. Friammy. That record. Yeah, that just was why. With the delicious cameo? Nah, that record was going straight to the top. It was the cameo that man. Yeah. That added
Starting point is 01:29:27 to the record for sure. We got another voicemail? No. Big using proper English all the time was like some of my foot black and ugly however however a fist fight would be a son-on no big use property all the time a big was it big was nice with syllables another another another kid that went to a thing m m and them is the illus yeah another kid from the hood went to a good school yeah moms had a good job you know what I'm selling crack rock yeah I don't mean you're gonna be a good kid just gonna go to get a good school man Fair.
Starting point is 01:30:02 All right. Well, you're ready for Patreon? Mm-hmm. Ready to go talk some shit? I want to talk about the Sebastian shit. You seen the Sebastian on Vlad? No. He was talking about the rate of NBA players getting divorced.
Starting point is 01:30:15 When he came into the league, it was 7 out of 10. Now it's 9 out of 10 players. Get divorced. We'll talk about it on Patreon, though. All right, we'll talk to y'all soon. Be safe. Be blessed. I'm that nigga. He's just ginger. We added the Patreon.
