Starting point is 00:00:01 Guys, hello and welcome to Nip Tuck, not giving a fuck. This is an episode whereby we are going to run you through a couple of different things. It will be bing bong boo as usual, but we never said it wouldn't, did we? No, no, and if you're not into that then you're in the wrong place. right so a topic that has been hot on our mouths um has been the fact that each season i feel like i have like a clear out yeah and a refresh are you about to throw that at me so i've just got the mini eggs don't throw that at me i don't want one um she's like throwing mini eggs um and i feel like i do one just before winter and i
Starting point is 00:00:52 refresh the winter wardrobes of the kids and i do recolor out for christmas yeah we get rid of all the toys and then i do a spring one which is i've begun i have begun that and it's kind of cleansing ready for the next season so that's like your clothes your house your car i'm queen of organization yeah you're very decluttery very decluttery because you're probably nesting your declutter on steroids if it's not breathing it goes in the bin like the kids are lucky they're still here when you were little did your mum used to say to you if you don't tidy your room and putting all your shit in a bin yeah and i do i do that to them oh they're scared to leave anything on the floor do you actually yes and i've been it what i have four children in that house i cannot
Starting point is 00:01:47 have and i have four children in a small house i cannot have room for bits of crap if they have not played with it it goes in the bin or charity shop let's say it leaves depending on what level whether it's charity level do they make their own beds and shit i'm starting that now like a star chart thing they're older than that so it's more i'm army regiment like i have a really clear routine in the morning i get up i'm like bam bam you dress your dress everything's out in piles and make bed brush teeth you have to be with and that's what we're like so yeah toy wise they have loads of cuddly toys and i will have my eye on like one of them and i think you're going next and i've been it in my house they've got all these jelly cats and toys and they put them in the
Starting point is 00:02:32 window playroom and it looks it looks like some weird like some weird like i used to walk past houses like that and be like weird and now i am one of them so i i yeah i do i throw everything away if the lego hasn't been made it goes in the bin and then when they're like i can't find the rest of my lego i'm like oh i've not seen it no slime but it's like yeah it all gets binned so i also refresh the wardrobes and i refresh my own each time what i also do is a car refresh I really think that when you've got a busy life a hectic car my friend Emily has the most disgusting car and it just doesn't add to your good mental health so I just think keep it clean and keep it tidy so in spring it's your space yeah I have a refresh on that and we were talking about like
Starting point is 00:03:21 the kind of things that you do and our advice for a spring clean because it isn't just your house it isn't just your wardrobe it's like is it a time to perhaps spring clean your life a little bit is it time to throw out the trash a little bit so that can be like a little career spring clean it can be a little relationship spring clean so we were saying weren't we that i think if it's always good to do this but maybe make it a thing to have a career and relationship spring clean a hundred percent like you need to look at what is serving purpose in your life and let go of whatever isn't if something feels a bit off a bit icky it's not nice to be around get away yeah so if you've got those friends that you're kind of hanging on to and they don't make you feel great
Starting point is 00:04:12 and they make you feel uneasy or you don't know where you stand with them and they do you know we've you know everyone's had the friend where you think do you like me i don't know where we are oh that's horrible yeah they invite me to some things and not to others and yeah or a group of friends or like you like you know when you walk away from the table they're gonna talk about you on the back foot so that kind of thing will do absolutely nothing for you but make you feel shit which will then affect all the other things that you do because that will have you ruminating yeah so use this now as your spring clean if there is a friendship group that isn't serving you now is the time to sever the tie and it doesn't have to be a dramatic i'm no longer your friend
Starting point is 00:04:55 it doesn't have to be that it can be a homer simpson homer simpson into the bush just take yourself back yeah look for new friends and just let it go and if he says they're a problem you go no no i've just been busy do you deal because i've like done this a few times as have you i'm sure when then you think yeah fucking got rid of them and then they send you a text like a few months say tonight i missed you so much let's do something when can i see you i've not seen you for ages you say same babes let's get something the diary i'll have a look and then you don't ever have a look lauren i don't think you shared friendships though i can't i collect friendships like fucking pebbles everywhere i go i make a friend not on purpose because i don't even like people
Starting point is 00:05:40 that much and i make a real friend a proper friend yeah i have collected the most wonderful people over the past your phone literally doesn't stop ringing with people needing people over the last 10 years honestly and i say it loads one of the best things that i have is my friendships like i have the most incredible people around me and just one of the things when i met james he was like wow you have got some fucking great people in your life and i have and i collect them yeah and i never sever the tie i just collect them and then like one day i've not spoke to them for nat gregson the old mac we were chatting to her the other day and we were great friends at the time and i just keep them yeah but they don't cause me any they just no no friends but if
Starting point is 00:06:25 there's people toxic toxic which i'm very lucky to i don't have a great deal of it we all come across it you come across it absolutely and especially our listeners like we get it a lot that is one of the most i think so um and talked about in our patreon we've got it's friend problem isn't it who've got different group chats going on and there's one called the advice chat yes and i'd say 90 of the advice chat is it's not male it's about other women isn't it it's it's girl friendship girl situations yeah um so i do think if you are in a situation and it isn't great advice on you do then i just think you let it go you fizzle and awol get back into your bush find some newer friends and change it up a little bit so what would you say this is a question that
Starting point is 00:07:11 i've just thought of for both of you what would you say is some traits that you look at in someone and you think you'd be a good friend for me or not so i don't like bitching i don't like consistent bitching no i mean like um oh similar interest to you oh sorry i thought you meant like personality traits right well yeah a bit of that yeah but if somebody constantly talks about other people then i find it very uncomfortable negative and moany i find uncomfortable um i don't like like gossipy stuff listen i'm a we'll have a gossip now and again do not get me wrong i hear something good you're gonna get a text about it it's not that but it's when it's constant i don't like that and about their friends yeah and i don't like when you sit down the main subject to be let's
Starting point is 00:07:56 all talk about stuff we know i don't like that sometimes i sit down and we go you got any gas yeah i'm not i don't like i've got a lot mega um so little things like that things that i do like are people that you can pick up and put down and they will do the same yeah like no pressure um not needy i can't do that so no pressure because everyone has different times when they need yeah but if you don't text back they start or people overanalyze i can't yeah yeah you didn't like my instagram picture yes i can't i can't do that um personality wise i think people i was who was i talking to this about i think it was olivia's friend ryan i'm sure no it wasn't it was our hairdresser um lewis and we were talking about i actually prefer people with a bit of grit and a
Starting point is 00:08:44 bit of personality yeah when people are too nice yeah i'm a bit like oh i like people that make an inappropriate joke have an opinion don't like everyone when someone is so nice and goes oh my god you look amazing so do you oh you look amazing it's i'm a bit like i love your hair i love you it's too much for me and i think i prefer people that are a bit more gritty and might be a even offensive i'd rather take someone that's slightly offensive um but a bit of personality is what i like yeah um likes and interests i don't know really i guess for me i think it's if you're not going to gossip about people then you need to have similar likes yeah yeah i think i don't know like that's why i think that people with you should look for people with similar interests
Starting point is 00:09:35 because maybe if you go to the gym you can chat for fucking hours about treatments can't we we can sit there and talk about doctors yeah um like injectors treatments stuff like that yeah you need to have like a thing um i think like maybe if you go to the gym like a friend that's into the gym with you and what is on a bit of a fitness journey and a health journey that's always good a friend that likes to go on the fucking piss a friend if that's what you are doing lie in bed and watch real housewives and in crisps yeah if you if you're both at a single level where you want to go out and get smashed every weekend and shag a load of men and have a laugh which i did i had those mates that's also good as well yeah but i think look for look for people that like
Starting point is 00:10:17 you say you do have something in common with kids as well so i find yeah because then your kids can play while you sit and have a lot of my home friends we all have children and the reason we bond so well is because we do everything with our kids so i can then have a wine and a chat and the kids ticked off as well so i think that's important when you're looking for it the good thing about like patreon though how many mates have been made on there girls met up again at the weekend did how many nice people have made friends on there so go if you're looking for send us in your friend stories we'd love to we could do it dating for friends what kind of friend are you looking for yeah yeah do you know what i think is hard to find to make friends in as an adult i do
Starting point is 00:10:58 think it is difficult i agree but then like what we were saying come up everywhere we were saying about like having similar interests at least you knew where to look for one i think it i think you pick up on a vibe and there's certain people that i've met like you guys for for example that we only met what a year ago yeah and you gravitate and you are like my best mates about everything i feel my big thing is if i can feel like i can be 100 100 myself in front of someone yeah because i pick up on like this sounds like a bit hippie like i pick up on energies and vibes but like if someone's true it makes me feel awkward or if i feel like they're a bit bitchy or rude or like looking down their nose at me i'm like i i turn into the person that i
Starting point is 00:11:44 that i don't even know i'm like oh god i'm coming across really you said the other day about something and we were talking about something else and you said it kind of makes you feel sometimes like you're back at school again yeah and when you put in those situations exactly that but you have to be somebody that you're not because you need to keep the other people happy and stuff and it's like but actually when i'm around like you two for example because you're probably mates who i've met in like later life later life but i feel like i can just be myself i can be relaxed i can have and if you disagree you can say i don't really agree i don't think that somebody might say i love that bag and you're like oh god no not for me and that's fine
Starting point is 00:12:20 so i think it's finding that well i think you just know like as well like when i when someone goes to me i love you jack i'm half price like you just verbal like yeah but then you have to remember as well some people are very hard to break down like the first few times you meet them and that's i wish i was more like that um that's a really good thing i think that's a really good train sit back and observe yeah that i don't have that yeah i have if there's a if there's enough i saw i overshare to overcompensate olivia posted something the other day and it was a quote and i can't what it was but basic i thought god that's me and it was basically like if there's a silence i'll fill it with inappropriate things and secrets because i just if there's something
Starting point is 00:13:03 and I'll be like, one time I shagged myself. Do you know like, like if there's a, or I've shagged him, do you know what I mean? Why did I say that? Because there's an awkward,
Starting point is 00:13:12 like I overcompensate with private things about only about me, only ever about me. But I end up telling people my life story and I think, oh, you've done it again.
Starting point is 00:13:21 What do you do in scenarios where everyone, I'd like to be aloof. When you're in a group scenario and everyone's kind of fighting for attention, right? So say like,
Starting point is 00:13:29 it gets a bit pick me. We were talking about pick me the other day. Like if it gets a bit, everyone's fighting for attention everyone's trying to hold court and the thing what i do in those scenarios is i just sit back do you pull back don't say anything but i've been in scenarios where it's like big strong personalities and everyone and it gets a bit loud do you know what i am one probably without like i'm probably a big strong personality yeah and if we're all
Starting point is 00:13:51 egging each other on we're like yeah so i probably am always one of them probably because i've said something completely inappropriate yeah everyone's staring at me guys what do boys talk about to each other james has like full-on what do they talk about and they have full-on deep combos and i don't think that's normal no james does he'll and he'll ring me and he'll be like i'm checking in with my mate because he's having a rough time and he's told me this and they have like and i think that's really nice like they'll have like a deep that's really that's quite rare yeah i think they talk about like farts and shagging and beer and football they can talk for hours about football that's the good thing about gambling apps they can um they can bond over that can't they
Starting point is 00:14:34 so sprinkling right we've done the the relationship sprinkling and if you're listening now and straight away somebody came into your mind that is not serving you let us give you the confidence now to push them away and just see how much better your life is once that anything that is in negative in your life that doesn't need to be there yeah let's all together reassess reassess and have a spring reassess yes right the second thing is wardrobe so we do a wardrobe cleanse now what i always do is i will go through and i have some big boxes you know like the big plastic i don't know what they're called packing boxes like the ikea ones yeah and i'll go through when i see fit which i would probably say was about two weeks ago was my transition when i
Starting point is 00:15:20 felt like oh yeah i'd say this week like oh and i will go through and anything i know i am not going to wear through the spring through the sort of spring summer even if we don't have one it's just more how annoying for you that you're having to buy maternity well i'm gonna do it i'll talk to you about that um i've had and i've had to buy two seasons of maternity winter and spring i know i'll sell it after um so what i tend to do is go through and anything i don't think i'm gonna wear so your big jumpers leather pants are gone for me now because i know i won't i mean you might always a thing yeah so you like them i just wear winter clothes yeah you do to be fair i change with the season so that will all go away because when i look into my wardrobe right and honestly
Starting point is 00:16:03 we've had our bedroom redone and i've jigged all our wardrobe around i've cleared it all out and even james said to me wow when i wake up in the morning now when i go to get dressed yeah how nice is this because i've put his box i've done i've bought the drawer dividers off amazon and i love that the knickers are all rolled and i wake up and i go la la la pop over i open the drawer black knickers that goes into then nude knickers that goes into white knickers i don't wear knickers oh and i only have no i never wear i only have three colors of underwear i don't go for the matching sets of frilly every morning no i literally my bras are also black nude and white so that everything always my easy
Starting point is 00:16:45 pop that on great then i'll go to my next wardrobe and everything is in line joggers pants and jeans pick the jeans black top white top gray top put it on and if you do it like that your life oh my god so if you're not going to wear it through the season get it out your wardrobe put it in a box and fucking get it away because otherwise you look in the wardrobe and you're So if you put it in one I'm going to do this now So if you get it in one of those boxes You know because sometimes
Starting point is 00:17:11 I vacuum pack mine Christina No because you put a lid on it No I vacuum pack mine So I vacuum pack like it Well either way And then I forget I've got it and I buy more And I'm like I can't be arsed going under the bed So I label it
Starting point is 00:17:29 I label it as well So I get a big I tell you where I get them from I actually get them from B&M big plastic thing I think it's like a something I know the one you mean
Starting point is 00:17:38 and they can come with wheels on as well for you know under your bed and stuff and then I put a sticker on winter yeah they're quite flat so you could shove it
Starting point is 00:17:45 under your bed I put them in the loft so then they're gone right so that when I look in that wardrobe and then I do it in parts
Starting point is 00:17:53 so that's the first part I get rid of everything and I'm realistic with it if it's a jumper I'm not realistically gonna she's just thrown a fucking mini egg by the way I didn't
Starting point is 00:18:01 don't throw I don't want one I had three last night and they knock me sick. They're quite rich. Too rich. Once I've done that, I then look at what I've got left.
Starting point is 00:18:10 I get out a pad and a pen or my phone. No, this is too much. That's a lot. Well, don't do it then. They thought you were busy, Laurie. Yeah, what the fuck, mate? She's a crazy jobs person.
Starting point is 00:18:20 Don't do it then. She's always doing something. Do you know what I do that I need to tell people about? Well, let me finish. Go on. Don't do it then, but I will tell you,
Starting point is 00:18:27 by doing this and spending one day doing this, every fucking day is easier. What do you do with your pad and your pen then? All my notes and I look and I think, right, what outfits have I got here? What am I missing? I think, right, I haven't got a pair of, like,
Starting point is 00:18:40 you know, like a pair of jeans that are going to go with everything. So I'll just pop it down. I'll think, right, I've got a long sleeve black top, long sleeve, I haven't got a long sleeve grey. I'll put it down and then I will get all that bit, those little bits so that I have then got a capsule wardrobe that in the morning,
Starting point is 00:18:51 when I wake up, takes me two seconds because everything matches everything. And yes, it takes a day to do it. But then when you wake up in the morning, the kids are screaming and you're running through. All right, don't do it. fucking leather pants and try and find you and it's really stressful you know when you don't know what to buy because you're like i don't know what my wardrobe needs and you buy loads of shit
Starting point is 00:19:10 that doesn't go with anything else then you've bought you've spent 100 quid and none of it matches so i also do the same with james james has a color palette black gray and white all these are allowed to buy because then what did he wear before pink bad thing tell us like the worst thing you ever turned up wearing i don't think he had a great great influences in the past however i'm here now um so the outfits have been no no i didn't mean that i meant like no i didn't mean that what i meant is perhaps perhaps he needed my influence to just get the wardrobe i'd walk around with like holes in his trousers and everything no i just make it really simple for him so anyway listen trust me that that works the next thing is you go to your car you
Starting point is 00:19:53 have your car balloted you get every piece of shit out of your car then you get a little clear bag clear bag or a little toiletry bag from boots or whatever and you put essentials in there tampons wipes and you have that in your car at all a spoolie for the eyelashes there yeah tweezers tweezers are a good one to have in your car when you stop at the traffic lights you can really see that's illegal do you know what else i have in my car my crass white strips anything like that cheap supplements as well and then i have that in the car so when the baby comes i will have a caddy in the back yeah and that then it sounds so like pathetic but then you've now woken up you have gone to your drawer where everything is dead easy you've got in your clean tidy car
Starting point is 00:20:40 i need a little bit of lip balm i need a wipe you've got it all there and trust me these little things make day-to-day a million times easier spring clean your house as well if you've got a drawer that's full of shit everyone's got well i haven't because i won't have it clear out the shit drawer buy little containers so your batteries you're very good as your battery goes in one look no i know one and then when you're looking for it's just life changing if you go on Timu Timu is the best for organization you know what I just bought for in my office it's like this thing it's like this and you put different wires in each hole so you've got different chargers guys go on Timu or one of those websites and put in kitchen organization
Starting point is 00:21:25 you'll fucking know what I got off Timu the other day it's probably full of microplastics oh yeah I mean it's like yeah let's just mention that kids plates and it's 10 plates in a holder oh yeah and you can get baby milk ones that go oh there's honestly yes it's probably really shit there's loads of reasons why it's not good or maybe go on there and get the ideas and then get it somewhere else but the idea packs wardrobes are brilliant as well for organizing yeah and on tiktok actually there's loads of ideas for what what oh my god i'll tell you what else you can put in your packs wardrobes i bought and i think it was team you i will link it when i remember um i bought myself a little jewelry box thing that has the drawers so all my jewelry is now organized so then i open
Starting point is 00:22:07 out the drawer and my gold necklaces are in a line and i can pick one and my earrings because they've got little square compartments and it's a different set of gold because i wear loads of gold don't i gold earrings in each one so i pull it out pop it on i got a glasses holder and the glasses holders round and you put all the glasses on it it's brilliant it sounds so and silly but it changes your life belt organizer organizers it's clear and it's like a tower and on each one you put the belts honestly and it sounds boring but if you have a hectic life if you have a busy life if you have a lot of kids it really makes life car there are so many companies actually girls this is great business to get into i'd say reorganizing wardrobe if you're
Starting point is 00:22:55 you know a busy mom and you got a few hours a week that must be a lovely job for your brain like and also like what we always say we'd love to clean other people's houses apart from our own well i don't want to clean them how do you get motivated to do it because i'm i'm the same as you i think everyone wants a clean it's good for our heads as well i agree like aren't you i feel like i can go to sleep better yeah yeah i i'm the kind of person where if like when i go to bed if there's even um a cup a cup on the side i can't go to bed how do you get that motivation to just do a massive clean i think you've got to make yourself do it i i know that it has to be done and i know that my mind will feel so much calmer when it's done so i just get on with it i save a
Starting point is 00:23:43 day for it i put music on it's the only time i would ever listen to a podcast to be fair i put that on and i will just go for it the kids stuff as well i do exactly the same the weight of the baby like the stuff just goes it doesn't get after three months the kids clothes i do exactly the same with right i've just done the girls now i went through they've each got their own and i got rid of the christmas jumpers that i got wait for them for next year whatever it depends what size it was everything that was kind of the black colors because i have them in black quite a lot winter and i looked at what they needed i thought right thea needs another pair of pink trainers the other one needs this she's missing some pink leggings made a list ordered it all from h&m
Starting point is 00:24:23 couple of hundred quid and then i fold it all perfectly so again i get up in the morning to get the girls ready i do it the night before i pull out the drawer it is t-shirts long sleeves hoodies sweaters jeans socks and i just go bam bam bam bam bam done i do it with the uniform I must say there is a bugbear of mine, but, you know, it's still, it's super cute, whatever. When I was doing my clear out, well, I'm constantly doing clear outs for Snowy and Teddy. Yeah, you're just a constant.
Starting point is 00:24:53 It's the personalised stuff upsets me a little bit. Because you can't reuse it. Because you can't, you know, I do still put it in my charity stuff. But when it's like, you know, like putty bed T-shirt, then a christmas jumper then a snowy's first christmas jumper and then this and then when when you have the baby you get 25 personalized doodah things and it's just like it's a bit wasteful yeah you can't really do anything with them after can you um do you know what so they used to wear the do you know the little zara tracksuits because there's a tracksuit gal
Starting point is 00:25:28 and you used to personalize the name yeah and i stopped doing it because listen i am you can pass it down i am a um creature of everything not making sense because i share all over instagram which isn't safe either but someone just said to me oh yeah on the backpacks the kids backpacks someone could abduct them because they would go up to them read their name thea thea oh my god back when we were at school i'm sure we were told that you couldn't wear those headbands because people would know. Stranger danger.
Starting point is 00:26:06 The girls do have a backpack with a name each. But other than that, clothes. I stopped doing it for that reason. Imagine in like the airport or anything. Yeah, I stopped for that. The girls do. They have their initial, I think. God, do they have?
Starting point is 00:26:16 I can't remember, but I do. Initial, okay, fair. But I do do it with the girls' clothes as well and the boys and all the uniforms are in boxes. The other thing I do with the girls' bubbles. Labeling kids' uniform. What tips have you got on that?
Starting point is 00:26:27 I don't label it. Fear doesn't lose anything. I just buy a shop. a sharpie and write their name and sign everything. Don't do it, she doesn't have anything in her she won't lose it. You have to label everything at nursery or they won't come back with it. The other thing that I do is I get
Starting point is 00:26:41 again from those websites, I organise the bobbles so I have like a little dish thing where all their bobbles are in one, clips are in the other and it's colour coordinated You're making everyone feel like shit Lauren Listen, don't
Starting point is 00:26:58 if you spend a day doing it you can do it as well. Yeah, no you're totally right and also it's not like you need to spend a lot of money on this do you remember that it brings back so much nostalgia should we order some and wear them yeah um so yeah that's my clothes two piece for you and follow follow me for baby organization wait till i get into that i just oh that'll be nice love organizing i love watching videos of people do it i love people making i love people pulling out and putting things in the drawer do you know what that is a good motivator to watch those reels and i know i've talked about it before and a couple of people
Starting point is 00:27:35 on patreon asked who i mentioned it's home with rue home with rue yeah she's she does this thing called a speed clean where she sets a timer for like 50 minutes every Wednesday and that's a good idea because then you just get everything that you need to do in just that time so you can put a podcast on the thing by the time that finishes you don't you know the thing is once you do it once right if you keep on top of that yeah it never you never have to do that big session again because you can see what your stuff is you throw it away you replace it h&m's my best friend at the minute i can't tell you the quality is great my underwear my girls clothes everything i always get from h&m at the minute it's really serving me like i'll just do a massive order of basics and
Starting point is 00:28:18 and then my wardrobe's done and dusted and then i just add little expensive not even expensive but more expensive bits here and there work as well we've had quite a few people asking about like how to ask for a pay rise all those things i just want to make sure that everyone understands obviously i know it's your life and everyone's got bills to pay and stuff like that you don't have to act fast on anything as long as you have got a long-term plan in place i think that's really important I love writing down like my short and long-term goals and I think when you actually write them down it's really beneficial because it's you expressing yeah all of that and you're putting it into the universe exactly um but I just think there's so many different
Starting point is 00:29:11 career options out there now and a lot more creative ones which they're never ever ever used to be when we were younger we would have absolutely loved all of that wouldn't we and now you know it is more like you can be your own boss and it sounds scary you know set your own company up and this that the other as long as you've got someone that can give you some good advice and they're out there as well there's a lot of like business mentors and stuff i don't know how that works i think some of it's a bit of a blag yeah i'm a bit i don't i don't understand enough i think there are really good business mentors out there but i also think there are a lot that prey on people that prey on people and just take the money so i think it's just about
Starting point is 00:29:51 maybe recommendations yeah but what would you say like we get a lot of people that message you they just say i am unhappy in my job i feel like i'm just stuck again you've got to write down so you start by writing like why am i unhappy yeah i don't like doing spreadsheets i don't like doing admin i don't like i don't like answering the phone i don't like scanning on the tails these are all my favorite things these like so you have to write down say your five worst things then you think right what do i like what job doesn't entail yeah those you know three or four because obviously it's it's work no work yeah exactly but something further away from that and then you think right so if i want to be a i don't know a beauty therapist and at the minute i'm working
Starting point is 00:30:40 in a bank right i can go on a night course i can go and do saturdays on a reception for four hours and say i'll come in and help and see if i understand and like it you're not putting pressure on yourself you're not keep what leaving keep what you've got exactly and then another part of the spring clean when lauren and i were talking about planning this episode a lot of it is financial and taking financial pressures off yourself there's some really great apps out there that you can go on that will go through your phone and check like what direct debits and shit you've got set up and there may be like literally four or five that you think i oh my god like that razor subscription i've got a box of 50 i can cancel that or i don't know like apps on your phone apps on your phone
Starting point is 00:31:31 that you don't use yeah you know like i've bought random editing apps that i've not used for six months get rid of that i did this with james um because he's a man and you know what yeah when not long after we'd got together really probably about a week later i was like right we're getting married sit down we're going to go through finances no like
Starting point is 00:31:48 somewhere down the line I was like right what are you what do you do what do you spend your money on so we sat down we went through his bank
Starting point is 00:31:55 oh it was a serious affair and we wrote down because mine was already done what the direct debits are yeah the ridiculous shit anyway like what was
Starting point is 00:32:06 the most ridiculous one things that he didn't even know he was paying for was paying for true he was paying for somebody else's
Starting point is 00:32:14 like i think sky or phone bill or there was for somebody else's that he had been for ages like what are you doing so what we did is we sat down and we wrote down all the outgoings and we looked at what needed do you know what it is sometimes and i think i'm not like this but i think a lot of our listeners may be where and james certainly is where they think i don't want to do that and they make it a big deal and don't do it you do that sometimes don't like the odd thing where you'll think i don't really want to do that so i'll put it's important yeah like driving license and yeah that's we had to do that for him recently i had to do it because he had put that off
Starting point is 00:32:48 so we looked at it and it was me it's a horrible job and my phone kept getting sent back and it was a few things that he needed to make a couple of phone calls to sort out and he just put them off for that long so we sat down and we literally went through it all and i think if you do that you then know where you're at the other tip i've got just slightly sidelined is work out the day that you get paid so let's say you get paid on the 31st of the month or the 30th of the month i would recommend that you have all your direct debits come out on say the third couple of days later make sure wages come in and cleared have everything go out at that point nothing because what james had was he had direct debits coming out randomly the 10th and i was like no no we're
Starting point is 00:33:32 going to change all this and everything is we rang them all line it's all going to come out on the third right then from the fourth you know how much you're playing with you know how much you're playing with so from the fourth you then move x to your savings and then the rest of the month whatever is in your bank is yours to play with yeah it's not going to come out at the end of the month with your phone bill that is a massive tip and i think that all really helps do you know what like again we just spoke about like burying your head in the sand guys like if you are thinking where does all my fucking money go have a look have a look and if it is on deliveroo delete the app for a bit just go cold turkey delete the app you know one of my friends recently took her
Starting point is 00:34:11 credit card off her apple pay because she was like it doesn't feel it doesn't serve money and also one of my other friends has got one of those cash diaries have you seen them so it's for if you really are thinking like i've literally left with nothing or you put every day what you're allowed to spend in cash yeah that's a good idea you can visualize in like a clear wallet thing have you seen them christina no but it's do you know what this is really random i had a clip of like jemma atkinson speaking on something the other day and she said that when she was in hollyoaks this is really really random when she was in hollyoaks she was paid per episode and blah blah blah and she said that her mum made her put
Starting point is 00:34:56 250 pound each week for her spending money and that was all she could spend and she says she still has that direct debit going out now and i was like do you know what that is such a good idea give yourself a budget i do that how do you give yourself a budget without knowing what you've got so that's why i think you have everything coming out on that day and the next day you maybe have your savings pot x goes into your savings and when you look in the bank that's yours and that's it to the and then you work it out divide it over the four weeks if you need to yeah um it's not easy but honestly that kind of thing if you're putting off so we did a shout out if you've got any bad friends here's a shout out if you are putting anything off that you know you really need to do
Starting point is 00:35:39 your passport you're driving us the bills that you don't want to ring the sky that you need to cancel do it now now go through and get it done and take that pressure and that way when you've been on the session you hung over it doesn't haunt you yeah get rid of everything that you can but i do think we don't actually realize like how much that morning starbucks is costing us a month like james spends a fortune on coffee a month right okay let's google this now girls average coffee price what do we get like a latte a medium latte i only drink black coffee and i don't buy it i never buy it you're a psychopath okay i am i'm talking about the average i think james spends 300 pounds a month on coffee right let's have a look so and 400 on brass we're saying
Starting point is 00:36:26 one coffee a day or are we saying two because i at the average person probably buys one one okay a medium latte in costa is three pounds 80 a day right so times that by five three pounds eight to eight times by five times by four then that'll tell you the month yeah i think she's doing that that's what i was doing i was like what just in case she didn't know it's not actually that bad stick and have your morning coffee for 76 pounds a month bitch i'm not telling you to stop your morning coffee but it's worth every fucking penny because life is long yeah 70 because it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Fucking get two.
Starting point is 00:37:12 No, but listen, when you do two, it's then £140 a month. Oh, even that. Life is hard. Do you know? And that... Like, who was I? Like, guys, we're not...
Starting point is 00:37:23 Like, take the one bit of joy for £76. But if you go to Pret and get your lunch, you're spending about... Oh, well, again. But then, how nice is a Pret lunch? No, but then you have your lunch. and then at weekend you go out for breakfast it does i know but then at what point there's no joy in life there's no joy no one wants a sad heat up last night's tea do they i know you don't you
Starting point is 00:37:52 don't and also do you know what well if you're on the fucking bread line and you're struggling then yes you may need you need the 70 quid no you might need that i know you're right you're I did think it was going to be more. I did think it was going to be more. It was like 150, 200 quid. I also think £3.80 is quite a low. I feel like whenever I get a coffee
Starting point is 00:38:19 it's at least a fiver. That is how much it is in Costa at the minute. So yeah, guys. I don't know. Another cleanse. We're going to wrap up here on this monthly episode.
Starting point is 00:38:34 that we've done photos on your phone that's a plane job that's when you're on the plane there isn't no there's an app that you can use to delete
Starting point is 00:38:43 yeah but you need to check which ones you want to delete how does it know I don't know it just does don't have to I swear how would you
Starting point is 00:38:51 how would an app know what pictures you want guys I swear you talk such shit I don't I keep seeing something advertised but do you have to pay for it
Starting point is 00:38:59 yeah you do no but you tell me how the app knows that I want a picture of my dead grandmaster on there but i don't want the picture of james's knob anymore just you tell me how we all knob pictures and no now i don't know it's really hard what is your nana yeah oh right okay she's um right go on it's called photo cleaner swipe wipe yeah swipe wipe so right that sounds like so we
Starting point is 00:39:23 like said it's like things that you like you say yes things you don't like you say no and then it'll delete them oh that is that is not enough control involved for me there i couldn't do that i have to to know what i'm like what if i didn't want that tree but i wanted the other how many photos have you got on your phone i cleanse mine consistently are you ready go on in my recent photos i've got 121 000 that's vile i've got 8 000 i cleanse it consistently 121 000 photos wow i think in our job though we do have a lot of photos that we have to keep you know for like content and stuff mad that anyway
Starting point is 00:40:05 have we spoken about this did you see on Molly May's documentary how many she had took like 100 pictures for one thing of like a bath and it's all the same my phone's a bit like that 100 selfies or 100 pictures of a coffee and then I forget to delete them
Starting point is 00:40:20 but I do try I go through normally when I'm on the plane I have a mega cleanse and go through everything but I discovered yesterday you can buy more storage oh I've done that she kept fucking going to me christina yesterday my i thought oh i'm gonna have to delete some pictures i can't even get on whatsapp i was like just buy some lost i didn't know you could buy yeah i've had to do i had no idea you could do that do you know what's a good thing nothing had worked it kept
Starting point is 00:40:43 saying everything's full so i was deleting like pictures of dead people that i didn't really wanted to keep because i was thinking i need the storage for my selfies and it turns out you can just buy it yeah on whatsapp the best thing to do because my whatsapp always gets full and do you know what our group message is ridiculous if anyone wants i've cleared yeah no what i do is So I go on the documents and delete all the stuff on there because that's like big files. I cleared our whole chat. So I cleared the work one as well, a few work ones.
Starting point is 00:41:11 I hope you've still got them because I've got nothing anymore. Well, I've got 121. I did it in a blind panic yesterday. I've got mine just in case I need it to use against you at any point. Absolutely fine. Anything I said, I meant. Yeah, there we go. And do you know what?
Starting point is 00:41:24 I love feeling like that because I feel like, go on then. Say something about me. A what? A what? Just like the context. Like, say something about me. Anyway, let's wrap this up now, guys. I wish I'd not invited that on.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Now I'm scared. Thank you for listening, and we will see you. Oh, my God, guys, my friend had a vaginoplasty, and it's amazing. Who? I can't say. And it's incredible, and she would recommend to anybody with a loose goose.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Bye. Was that expensive? I don't know. Bye. Bye. Thank you.
