When I got a great deal on a great gift at winners, I started wondering, could I get fabulous gifts for everyone on my list?
Like this designer fragrance for my daughter.
At just $39.99, how could I resist?
This luxurious will throw for my sister.
This gold watch for my partner?
A wooden puzzle for my niece?
Leather gloves for my boss?
Ooh, European chocolate for the crossing guard?
At these prices, could I find something for everyone at winners?
Stop wondering. Start gifting.
Winners find fabulous for less.
Welcome to No Filler.
My name's Quentin.
And my name is not actually an episode.
This is just a little PSA we're going to throw out here for you.
So news for 2023.
We're going to take a break of sorts from the podcast, but we're not completely gone.
Yeah.
So, you know, as you guys have heard over the last couple months, lots of changes have been happening for Q
over there in Washington State.
You know, got a new job, got a new baby, got a new house.
That's the trifecta, dude.
Most people, they spread those things out, you know?
You did them all in a span of literally like three months, three, four months.
Yeah, it's kind of crazy to think about.
Yeah.
Ronan was born in August, started the job in October, and closed on the house at the end of December.
Yeah.
So, you know, you've been busy, guy.
I've been busy, and we're about to move.
Yeah, you got some things on the plate.
We haven't made the move yet, so we're about to.
pack up this entire house that we've lived in for nine years and take it on down south to
Olympia. And yeah, the time to do a weekly recording is just not there anymore for me. But
I don't want to give up this podcast. So we're going to change it up a little bit for this year
and we're going to promise a monthly episode. Yeah. So I think it's no secret.
We love the What You Heard episode format that we already do once a month.
You guys are already used to getting that on a monthly basis.
So now that's essentially what the show is going to turn into.
It's going to be a monthly mixtape of sorts.
That's what we call it.
So the What's Your Hurt format, we each bring five songs each from what we've been listening
to that month and share it on an episode, react to it.
It's going to be the what you heard format once a month.
Yeah.
You know, we're still calling it no filler.
Like, that's not changing because we'll sneak in extra episodes here and there if we feel like.
And if time permits and, you know, we get around to recording an episode kind of in the more traditional no filler format where we pick an album or an artist and kind of do more of a deep dive into the non-singles.
We'll still, you know, we're still going to do that where we can here and there.
So the podcast isn't isn't changing in that sense.
Stay subscribed to the same feed.
It's not like we're changing the pod and it's becoming a whole separate new pod.
It's the same podcast.
We're just cutting back to once a month and yeah, we just have a lot of fun doing the
what you heard format.
And since it's a monthly thing anyway, let's just keep doing that, right?
That way we can still have fun doing this, you know?
Yeah, for real, man.
It's been a blast.
this is what this is year five now right going in at 2023 we started in 2018 yep yeah yeah yeah
yeah yeah it's been it's been great dude it's been really great to chat with chat with you about music
every week and to share all these these tunes with with you all it's been a blast so we hope that
we still hear from you as well if anything we hope that you reach out to us even more now give us
your watcher hurts what have you been heard bring it yeah this is this is the format right so
more so than ever maybe we can have opportunities to include listeners because, you know,
we're not going to be doing, at least I'm not going to be doing anything for the three weeks
where we're not recording, right?
Because I used to spend time piecing this together.
Your life's exactly the same, brother.
Doesn't change often.
My life is pretty consistent.
So like, you know, I used to spend at least two, three hours piecing an episode together
a week.
That's six to nine hours.
that I'm getting back.
That's a lot of time for me to reach out to people on Instagram.
And yeah, how about we, let's make another promise for it.
So we're definitely, we're going to get you that, what you heard for this month.
We're not going to miss out on this month.
How about we make a serious effort to get some T-shirts made?
We've had listeners tell us, yes, I absolutely would buy one if you had them.
Let's make it happen, dude.
So use that extra, that extra time trap to start making some design.
lines, post them up on Instagram, see what people think. Yeah, I think I can make that happen. You know what?
I don't think. I know. There we go. I know I can make that happen. And yeah, so yeah, look out,
look out for that. T-shirts, perhaps a more active Instagram. Can't make any promises, but
that's the key, the keywords, perhaps. Yeah, that's definitely a maybe, I think, perhaps. But yeah,
reach out to us on Instagram, you know, send us your picks for tunes that you've been getting into
bands that you're really digging on lately. And, you know, we'll integrate those into our monthly
episodes. All right. So, you know, hey, this isn't necessarily a permanent thing. We'll revisit
kind of what we're, where we're at maybe at the beginning of 2024 and maybe we'll, you know,
go, you know, twice, twice a month. Right. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'll be more.
established in my career and my schedule could even be a little bit different by then.
Who knows?
But for now, that's where we're at.
We didn't want to end the podcast for good.
We wanted to keep doing this in somewhere or another.
And so this is kind of what we decided to do.
So thank you very much for your support, everyone who's stuck with us for the last, you know, four or five years.
Yes.
It means the world as the reason we keep doing this.
Yes.
when we hear from y'all and yeah your feedback is awesome we love it yeah that's the whole goal of
this thing is just to share music with people you know it's what we love to do and we're going to
keep doing it as much as we can so thank you as always for listening and tuning in uh you know
maybe into january you'll you'll get a what-you-heard episode for this month and yeah that's that
All right, Q, well, you know, we can't leave the listeners empty-handed here.
We've got to play something.
So to outro us out, that's redundant.
To outro us out.
To play us out, we got a new single that just dropped from Death and Vanilla.
Yes.
I know they're dropping a new album here any minute because they keep dropping singles.
And they were on my best of 2020 list.
Yeah, they just dropped two.
four days ago they just dropped a new single.
So let's just, yeah, let's out draw out with that, dude.
Good call.
I haven't listened to it, and you haven't either.
Nope, this is the first time we're hearing this as well,
but we know it's going to be good.
All right, so this song is called Looking Glass by Death and Vanilla.
We will talk to you guys in a few weeks.
My name is Travis.
And I'm Quentin.
Thanks as always for listening.
