Starting point is 00:01:12 at OnePeloton.ca. Welcome to NoFillera. Hi, I'm Weird Al-Yankovic, and you're listening to the Pantheon Network. Welcome to No Filler. I'm Quentin. And I'm Travis. And I'm big, bouncy, beautiful Mitchell. And on this month's what you heard, we're kicking things off with a brand new song from Spoon.
Starting point is 00:01:33 This one's called Guess I'm Fallen in Love. It's almost like, that's still burned. I guess I'm falling in love with Spoon again, dude. All over me. It's a little meta kind of, you know. Yeah. I've admittedly haven't been too, you know, thrilled with their latest stuff. Like, I'm like, okay, whatever.
Starting point is 00:04:17 It's Spoon. Yeah. But like, this song's great, man. That's more than I don't even, I've heard someone. of it and didn't even listen, give it any more of a shot. So y'all got more of a respect card there than me, at least. At least you listen to it, like hot thoughts and the more electronic kind of ambient, tomless-sounding stuff. I mean, I don't think I even listen to.
Starting point is 00:04:38 I think I can honestly admit that I did not listen to Lucifer on the Moon at all. So Lucifer on the sofa came out before Lucifer on the sofa. Yeah, that's right. Because Lucifer on the moon was like a... Yeah. Yeah, yeah. But Lucifer on the sofa, I didn't listen to it. I don't think any of it.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Lucifer on the sofa is pretty good. I haven't listened to Lucifer on the Moon. Having not even listened to any of them, I know there's at least probably two to three songs on each of those that are fucking gems. I know that. It's supposed to have. Yeah. But the rest of it's kind of like,
Starting point is 00:05:05 yeah, that song right there, that was fucking, that could have been off of any of their golden era records that we all that loves so much. I mean, I think I've surely have said this before because we've done so many spoon episodes, but like he's got those are great, y'all. He's got some of the,
Starting point is 00:05:21 thank you. those were like early early on those were great though man those were like seven fucking seven years ago guys I can't yeah that's what that's wild yeah because I think those are the first year so 2018 2019 but um I was just because I say I think he's got one of the greatest rock voices of all time so and it's not it's not just his voice dude it's the way he does it like it's the way he yeah exactly he's unmatched man he can growl a little you know like he gets that little kind of rough growl in there, but he doesn't have to lean into it like a metal band would as the whole thing. Oh, I would love to do.
Starting point is 00:05:55 He's the dude. Fred Daniels. I would love to hear a spoon metal album. Can you imagine that, Travis? I can't. I don't even want to try. I'll always remember what, uh, if you guys, check out this K-EXP performance that they did. I think it was around the time hot thoughts came out.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Cheryl Waters was like drooling over pretential dude in the studio while they're recording. She's great. And she said, I know, I love her, man. And she, she said that, that Britt Daniels like a crooner. Oh, that's cooler than shit. Because he is. And he can play the guitar. It's so cool, too.
Starting point is 00:06:30 And he's just got that kind of like, kind of shoot from the hip style. He's got those fitted shirts. Right. But his shoes will be untied or something. He's just kind of like, doesn't give a fuck, you know? And he's looked the same for decades. Yes. Yes, bro.
Starting point is 00:06:43 He figured it out. The black shirt fitted. One day they'll make shirts that fit right, boys. I'm still looking for them. That's right. Still looking for those things. Yeah, I'll be bending that for sure. I go to work tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:06:57 This is my Sunday evening and I go to work tomorrow is my Monday, so to speak, and I will be for sure prepping to newer spoon stuff. Yeah, so they got a new album. I don't see a release date yet. Is it just a single? Because there's another song. It's a double A side is what they're calling it, a double A side. Cool.
Starting point is 00:07:15 I could go a single release. Yeah. Those are the first two songs that they finished up for the new LP. So they got a long way to go. Okay. So there is going to be a full album. Yeah. I don't see it.
Starting point is 00:07:25 There's no release date yet, but yeah. Awesome. I know they're still touring and shit too because there's like a few goofy. They're touring with the pixies, dude. Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah. So can I just say this?
Starting point is 00:07:35 Guareteed, it's going to be way better than them, though. Guaranteed. Oh, yeah. Guaranteed, bro. You can't do that loud, quiet, loud shit for four years. Your voice can't do it. But I think Daniels probably has that staying power. So I love that he threw in a random, he always
Starting point is 00:07:47 does this, man. But this stood out to me because this is a signature of Britt Daniel. But there's a line where he says, Chuck says it's just a word. Yes, Chuck, bro. He's the fucking Chuck. Exactly. He always names people. I swear I've heard him throw Chuck's name out there at least in two other songs, dude.
Starting point is 00:08:01 We found out who Jonathan Fisk was, right? Yes, y'all did that. And the producer that when they had the two songs on the end of series of sneaks, I think. Y'all explain that whole back lore about being dropped from the label and writing shit, being sad and mad at this fucking guy that you burned him. Lafitte. Yes, Lafitte, don't fail me now or something like that. Agony, agony of Lafitte.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Dude, Lafitte don't fail me now. That's a badass name, dude. They should have gone with that. Yeah, he burned him, though. What that guy. Yeah. I think, if I recall. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:32 All right, boy, so. Well, that was great. Thank you for that. Very much. That's great. Of course. You can't go wrong with a spoon intro track. So, I guess for those who don't know, this is our what you heard format.
Starting point is 00:08:43 where each brings songs to the table, just stuff that we've heard in between recordings. We got our buddy Mitch here with us who is kind of like a, I mean, you're like a... Bro, I'm the guy in the sky. That's why my mic sounds like shit. I'm in a helicopter. I'm the traffic guy.
Starting point is 00:08:59 It's clear on 35. Go now. I'll see you're our resident co-host at the moment. Thanks, pal. That's a big honor. Long time coming. We'll just say your go-to when you need somebody to be there for busy times right now. that's right once i get the proper setup then you can throw the co-host resident co-host on the there
Starting point is 00:09:17 go there we go so um Mitchell i'll give you the honors cool man yeah i'll go first yeah i want to go first definitely following that spin because now that's what i've been heard now most recently and that makes me want to listen to kind of a catchy groovy song because spoon has always had those beats and bass lines that are just i mean you could take away the heaviness it is all the lyrical play and brett daniel's guitar work and all that shit and just so anyways from that to let's go to the band snooper with the two tildies over both o's it looks like a little eyeballs yeah that it's called a tildy it's like a Spanish accent mark or tilde so is there a proper way to like pronounce that with the tildo i have no fucking clue Travis it's just what i've been heard not what i've been reading bro
Starting point is 00:09:59 i have no clue it's probably just like they're just trying to be like stylized yes it you know totally looks like a stylized eyes to me it looks like eyebrows over eyeballs yeah yeah it's like it's staring at you kind of because the music i've listened to only a couple of songs and the song that I've been heard and it's called running running. Like I've been running and uh, Snooper is the name and uh, yeah, they're, I thought I was bringing all Aussie shit, but this is the only American band. They're from Tennessee, fairly recent, really cool like art punk and I'm saying a name
Starting point is 00:10:29 called egg punk and that fits perfect. Egg punk. Egg punk, right. All right. All right, here we go. So here's running by Snooper. I fade this out. Yeah, yeah, bro.
Starting point is 00:13:08 That's a, it's so frantic and hectic. and I was just doing looking up there because I was trying to find an answer to why they spell it that way and I couldn't really except it's just like probably an artistic choice just like that music sounds very reminded me of like if Devo was around nowadays Dude, Mitchell, man. Mitchell, boy. Let me, let me hang on now. Mitchell, you got it right on the nose, brother. Thanks, but. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:28 No, no, no. Listen, this. Okay, listen. Okay, so I'm, you know, pulling up the wiki as you do. Spooner. Spooner. Snooner. Snoomer.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Snooter. So here's the deal. There's a, they fall under egg punk. Listen to this. It's an internet-based microgenre of punk rock that emerged during the 2010s. The genre is characterized by a lo-fi recording style and satirical tone influenced by New Wave Band Devo. Devo core. I originally referred to as DevoCore.
Starting point is 00:14:02 That's a better name, though. I got to listen to more egg punk, man, because I love that. Me see, man. I'm all about that. Like the progression of it, you know? It was stacked. It was on my, but it's simplistic in that way. Like you can keep up with it, but then it complicates itself by adding another layer.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Yeah, dude. Yeah. Yeah, very, very catchy. The first time I heard that, you know, it was maybe. maybe like a week ago. And that motherfucker went on almost every playlist, dude, except for like my sleeping time playlist.
Starting point is 00:14:27 Infectious, very dancing. Yeah, they make paper mache characters. They have a mascot, bro. They have a bug. A green bug is a mascot.
Starting point is 00:14:34 That's awesome. That is so deep of core. That's very, yes, dude. See, that's awesome. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:14:40 man. So anyhow, fantastic. Yeah, you can take that a lot of ways. I don't think I'm going to have any big 180s today. You know, I thought,
Starting point is 00:14:45 always listening, I always thought, man, I would 180 so hard from this or that. But this is what I've been heard, bro and it's uh you know it's contemporary that band is i think uh that was like 2023 that was written so fairly new in Nashville Tennessee which is awesome got a live a scene like that in Tennessee well uh i've got a 180 travis do you guys want to pull one i know y'all do i know you do
Starting point is 00:15:06 yeah mine are actually pretty pretty similar today but yeah cute if you've got a 180 let's do it do it bro all right so long time friend of mine well i haven't talked to him in ages but larry lodra i think actually i brought yeah you brought him last month. I did. That's sorry. I'm not bringing it. A couple weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Yeah, whenever that came out. He was a guest before me. I'm a little salty about it. That's all right. It was my own fault. That's true. Salty to myself. He might have been the first guest.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Maybe. I don't know. It's possible. Shout out Spencer, first guest. Spencer. Oh, shit. Well, you know, we forget about that episode. Come on, bro.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Know your own lore, dude. I mean, come on, dude. That no filler lore. We don't have a Wikipedia page up yet, so I wonder if I could make one. I bet you could. I'm pretty sure anyone can make wikis. That's kind of, we donate to Wikipedia. I think I've donated like eight bucks in probably as many years.
Starting point is 00:16:04 I should probably, I should probably. But it keeps them going, I guess. I mean, fuck. I should probably do that. Yeah. So yeah, you know, he goes by Roaring Sun. Just to throw that out there. He has a album that came out of his show called Turning Wave.
Starting point is 00:16:19 Dude, in the track. list on the episode listing. I just put Larry Lozden. Shit, my man. I need to update that. Yeah, you need to update that. But anyways, he has a public playlist on Spotify. And you all know how I feel about artists dropping playlists.
Starting point is 00:16:34 Yeah, it's cool, man. I'm going to, a peek behind the curtain kind of. Exactly. Like what they're grooving to. It's called High Beams and Moonlight. Soulful, Melancholic Alt Country Tunes for the Open Road. Hello. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:49 And this, that's got Mitchell's name. right now. I was going to say, dude. Peaked. Yeah. Interests are peaked. So, Mitchell, have you heard of an artist named Colin Miller? No.
Starting point is 00:17:00 I asked Mitch because this is kind of, you know, all- No, I'm good with names like that, too. I mean, most good old country boys just go by their name like that, and I'm pretty good with it. No, I have not heard of Colin Miller. So this guy's giving me some MJ, M.J. Linderman vibes. Yeah, he's the most recent, like, oh, for sure.
Starting point is 00:17:16 That got blue-up. Massive star, right? Yeah, he's good, too, man. TV dinners. I like that song a lot. Yeah, that guy's, he's slick. Well, yeah, you guys are going to love this then. This is, so this actually dropped earlier this year.
Starting point is 00:17:29 So this is fairly new stuff. Colin Miller, huh? Colin Miller, yep. The song is called Cadillac. I don't see how you don't. Yeah, let's freaking open it up wide, bro. It doesn't need to be, because it's there, dude. Because, yeah, that sounds like a journal, like somebody's reading from a journal,
Starting point is 00:20:03 not some dude singing about a 12-pack and a lifted truck, dude. I mean, you know what I mean? Yes, exactly. It's a song, not meant to sell. You know that scene in Encino man where he just like goes down to the slushy machine and just opens it up wide. What's the guy? Polly Shore.
Starting point is 00:20:19 And the guy behind the counter says, quit wheezing on the juice, remember? Oh, yeah, no weas in the juice. Dude, I want to wheeze the juice of that country, Mitch. I'm ready. I'm ready. Yeah, man. I'm ready to weed juice, too. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Okay, well, boys, then behind the curtain, I'll definitely try and, I mean, there's that T&Q, uh, country playlist that's still going. Oh, yeah, shit. And you're going to be an easier to sell, Trave, you're kind of going to need to, I'm going to have to take like the guitar angle with you or something. You got to be like, yeah, I like it really because the guitar is ripping, you know. I need the, I need the kiddie pool of country. But like, I mean, maybe it's just, maybe what I need to do is, is,
Starting point is 00:21:01 seek out alt country. Is that the idea? Is that it? And I'm saying that's identified on the band camp as Lofi country, which I like way more than, because that describes it to me. They're more. And indie. I mean, that's fucking indie rock to me a lot there at the end.
Starting point is 00:21:14 The beginning had that cool guitar sound that is that classic country sound that I love, dude. And I like his lyrical content. I mean, you're right there. I got to say, too, you can tell that Larry is definitely influenced by Colin. Well, he sounds similar. Or just he's all country, right? Maybe that's where you put him under off country. With his Roaring Sun project, he definitely is.
Starting point is 00:21:38 He's done some way heavier stuff. Cool. Yeah, because country can be heavy too, man. It can be about, you know, there's a song called Psycho, a famous song called Psycho that's like about a guy that kills his whole family. And he's singing, did I kill her, mama? You know, it's like heavy shit. That sounds like what Travis. That's what Travis needs.
Starting point is 00:21:56 I'm into that stuff. Oh, I know. Me too, man. Me too, especially when he goes back to like songs that are nobody knows who wrote them or their old working songs, I guess would be the way I could put that to try and be as respectful as I could. Like, like, you know, like, there's, there's songs that you can, me and you and Quentin could do a cover of them today and release with no worries about, what do you call copyright infractions because their traditional American songs that are just like happy birthday is open to be sung. I love shit like that, bro. And the song that we just heard, I mean, that's clearly, you know, I mean, he's trying to say something there, man. And I loved it. It's talking about the wooden teeth and lazy eye. Like I can picture a person he's just, or the fake teeth that he's describing.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Yeah, he's painting a picture for sure, man. Like that opening verse sucking down coffee, Paul Malls and Oxygen. Yeah, dude. Paul Malls. Good God. I mean, that says it all right there because those are a little cheaper. I got two out of two out of three of those. I do. I suck down coffee. I drank so much coffee and it ain't even right. Yeah. It really ain't. So I mentioned that, uh, Kim. out in February of this year. So that was just, that was dropped as a single, but he actually just released a full length with that one on it in April of this year. Yeah, that's kind of country in April because it's not toxic.
Starting point is 00:23:08 It's not aggressive. It's not fake. You know what we should do? We should do an alt country mixtape episode because we've done a shoegaze mixtape episode. Yeah, that'd be great. That's a tall order because, because, man, there's some history there. Trab, it'll be easy. I mean, Wilco, you like Wilco.
Starting point is 00:23:25 I'm going to throw out some drive-by truckers. I've got to throw that name out there because those guys are legends that people like Colin Miller here. I guarantee you he's from Carolina. It looks like too. Asheville, those boys are from that area, Georgia. So that's when it starts to get real country. The Texas scene is more rocking and kind of what. It's why it's called country and Western boys.
Starting point is 00:23:43 We have more of a Western flair out here like Bob Wills. I'm just a quick, quick fucking lesson. Bob Wills, you know, and his Texas Playboys, you know, he does Western swing. It sounds like country, but it's different, boys. It's different. Very different. It's more danceable and it's catchy and it's more like you're, well, you go to a honky tonking here out in the west as opposed to like some of the country stuff or certainly like, you know, the 90s golden era country, Garth Brooks, fucking Allen Jackson shit. Oh, this is old school stuff. Yes. Yes, brother. So that's a whole different animal travel. And we got that flare out in Texas, you know. And I've heard a lot of good shit up from the Pacific Northwest. In fact, I think drive by truckers are stationed up there now, Quentin. I think that's where they called themselves like that's their, that's their H-KU. queue, you know, after they left the South because, you know, because you fucking have to at some
Starting point is 00:24:30 point. You have to. Yeah. And, oh, yeah. There's a lot of inspiration that you can get just living up here, man, with all this beauty up here. All right, Travis, what's you got, brother? Well, I got another 180.
Starting point is 00:24:44 Surprise, surprise. All right. So this is a instrumental track, gentlemen. And this is a group. I literally just heard this song. today. So this is fresh as it gets. This is a band called Surprise Chef, which is a funny name, but they are described, they describe themselves on their band camp as jazz funk, instrumental, soul. And I'll just let the song speak for itself. This song is called Blythe Street Nocturn.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Yeah, that's, I mean, that was my thought too when I heard I was like, I surprised because like a lot of their stuff is a little bit softer and like a little bit jazzier, funkier, like this one had more of like a, yeah, the guitar had more of like a almost like a, yeah, like a Latin funk kind of thing. It definitely had some fucking twang to it that was not your classic jazz sound, bro, that I liked. For sure, the guitar sounded Middle Eastern. The drums sounded like they weren't necessarily drums, but could be like bongos or congos, you know, like older type fucking things. Anyhow, yeah, that was great.
Starting point is 00:29:14 I fucking love that, dude. Instrumental stuff leads you room to thank and vibe and opens up just your mind, dude. I love it. So that's from their 2020 record, all news is good news. Imagine seeing that live, man. That would be amazing. Have you heard of the Budo's band? Yeah, I have heard that.
Starting point is 00:29:32 Yeah, I have heard of that. Or check out the echo centrics, too. That's in the same vein. Their album, Echo Hotels, one that I'm a big fan of. the instrumental groove on that was just cool man it was really cool i liked how it was funky at the beginning jazzy towards the end there all right Mitch back to you yeah well i guess it's going to be a 180 from that into uh the band is called sex mask whoa uh yeah whoa easy easy there and they are not instrumental i love specifically the wordplay in the song cool guitar work towards the end so let it ride to that
Starting point is 00:30:09 you don't want you won't have to fade this one out i don't think yeah man just and really cool A Zizi band from the quick search that I did. One of the many, many that had just fucking come out swinging from Australia, dude. Post like Tame Impala even. You know, I mean, that guy got as big as you could get. But just there's so many that are just great, dude. I mean, great. So, yeah, that's them.
Starting point is 00:30:33 That's really the only song I know by them. So I'm going to listen to them more. And I think the last band I'm bringing too is also Australian. When you said you thought you were bringing in the Ozzy stuff, I thought you meant Osbourne. Oh, dude. Hey, yeah, well, I'm glad we came in laughing about it. But yeah, we haven't got to talk about that. Rip Ozzy, dude.
Starting point is 00:30:48 He made it. Bro, dude, talk about a storybook ending, dude. I mean, he couldn't write it better. Talk about the way to go out, man. I don't think anybody's going to top that. You can't, Travis. Because first you have to build a career first. That's impossible.
Starting point is 00:31:00 You have to already been doing it. I mean, shout out Colin Miller, but I don't think he's going to be doing a stadium, you know, seated in his final clairvoyant moment and then die a few weeks before night later. Yeah, Ozzy Osbourne, dude. fucking legendary dude a formative reason why i'm sitting here talking to y'all dude because of the passion that black sabbath instilled in me as a young lad uh in the form of rock and roll and heavy metal man and then from there you get a little bored or your head gets sore from head banging so you start listening to bands like surprise chef and fucking other things dude country and western
Starting point is 00:31:35 and you explore other avenues electronic music like that y'all have shown me that's a whole not there's so much music and only so much life bro so you got to listen to it all that's insane oh and it's so easy to come by now man we're lucky yes so fucking lucky it's true dude we don't have to dig we don't have to pay as much like it's true bro very true it's like walking down the uh the peanut butter aisle at the store and it's like do we really need this many peanut butter choices that's true man i think i think i heard that the first time i want to say it was gorbachev saw an american grocery store he just wept yeah he just wept because it was like this is too much how could they even have this much this much
Starting point is 00:32:10 choice. It's ridiculous. Imagine living in a country that doesn't have a Costco and finding your way into that. Welcome to Costco. I love you. Dude, I work by a Costco. So I park there every day. And if I get there a little early, I just watch the parking lot, you know, just observe the humans. And it's usually not a good, good data that I collect. Sometimes I see the guy, the kind gentleman, and they're usually like an import, like a Subaru or something.
Starting point is 00:32:36 And they'll let the person, they'll wave them in. There you go, pal. You can go ahead. Just fucking wave them in, y'all. Just wave them in, for real. You don't need to be the asshole in a Costco parking lot. Jesus, the shit will be there. I take that up as my mod of my left, you.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Just wave them in. Just wave them in. Let him in, dude. Just let him in. I'm telling you. Just wave him, man. The guy will probably get T-bone at the intersection that you were going to be in anyhow, and you'll be thankful that you did that. You never know.
Starting point is 00:32:59 And you know how to be cool at parties? Hey, nice, dude. Nice. That was a good segue. That was a fucking proper segue. You know what you bring your sex mask. That's how you'd be cool parties. You'd bring the sex masks.
Starting point is 00:33:13 That's how I would say, if I was in that band, that's how I'd say the band's name. It depends on the party. But yeah, for the most part, that's probably a good way to do. All right, here we go. How to be cool at parties. I think you're going to like it by Sex Mask. I'm ready. What the hell?
Starting point is 00:36:08 I've never heard anything like that before, man. Not me either, really. Because there was like some rhymes in there, dude, but it's not a rap song. That's why I'm glad we got our guy in the sky because we would never have brought something like this. This never would have come on my radar. So yeah. I thought it was English when I first heard it. And then I had to look it up.
Starting point is 00:36:26 It's from Australia. But I mean, they're connected. Australia is connected to the greater United Kingdom. That doesn't really matter. But yeah, those guys are fucking sick. I love particular British rap sound because it just the way you, like when a British guy talks. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:41 Because he can bend it better. The way he bent Gwendolyn, like to rap, to rhyme like five times with itself. I liked the first line. Man, what was it? Something about Worcestershire sauce. Dude. How are you going to wrap? How are you going to rhyme Worcestershire into your rap, dude? That's so challenging.
Starting point is 00:36:55 You can't even find the lyrics on. Yeah, I tried to look it up, dude. Yeah, so I played it a few times. It's just catchy as fuck. I love the echoing at the end with that cool little, you know, that tasty guitar that had that kind of artsy tone to it. You know, they're taking that seriously, but maybe the rest is not so serious. It's great track. Yeah, Matt props to the producer too, man.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Man, I've got a perfect follow up to that. Cool. Great. And you know, it's funny. even their name goes along with sex masks. I know what's coming. I don't know if y'all have heard any of this stuff, but this is a band called Psychedelic Porn Crumpets.
Starting point is 00:37:33 Oh, I've heard that name and I think I may even seen them once a long time ago, Psychedelic Rock. I want to say maybe from fucking Australia, dude. Let's find out, shall we? But yeah, PPC, psychedelic porn crumments. I've heard that name before. They're from Perth, Australia. Australia.
Starting point is 00:37:50 Yeah, dude. Yeah, and they've been in the game. for a while too, I think, dude, because I've seen them, Travis shout out our last episode. I think they played a fest with the OCs in Austin years ago, dude. I heard a little bit of this when I was downloading it, and I thought of OCs for sure. I was like, this is in the same building. And they've been around for a while, which is awesome.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Yeah, they've been around for, I mean, at least probably about 10 years or so. I haven't listened to them since I was really into their, I guess you call it a double album, high visceral. There's a part one and the part two. Really, really cool stuff on there. That sounds interesting. And they have a high visceral B sides that they dropped. This is also dope.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Anyways, man, I just heard this today. And this is, I mean, this is already going to be in the running for, in my best of for the year, dude, for sure. This dropped in May of this year. The album's called Carpe Diem Moon Man. This song is called March on for Pax, Remind. Mona. I'm putting my desk back together. I just broke everything in my heart.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Q, I'm proud. What's that, honey? I woke you up. Sorry. Yeah, I'm proud of you, Q. Yeah, dude. That was fucking, hey, dude, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, that was, dude, great, heavy, man.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Great. Great. Can me, bring on the heavy man, you know? Like, this is, this is, okay, do you have the chat open Q? Are you watching this chat? Yeah. Okay. Can I ask you?
Starting point is 00:41:49 Yeah, I was going to ask you guys about that. Okay. Well, real quick. Yeah. Are you guys, like, speaking some kind of metal language or some shit? Yes, we are. You really are. Yes, we are.
Starting point is 00:41:58 Okay. Because can I just read some of this out loud? Okay. Well, it's a reference. Yeah. But yes, it's about metal. It is. Oh, you guys, hang on.
Starting point is 00:42:06 You guys are talking about the kitty pool. Yes, yes. Okay. Yeah. You're a kiddie pool. Yeah. Use kitty pool of metal. Here's a thank you.
Starting point is 00:42:13 This is. As in a one foot deep or less pool. Yeah. You've already, this is, this, you've gone below one foot for sure with this song. But this isn't, I don't, but this isn't metal. This is metal, brother. The soul is there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:23 that's like trying to tell somebody that's playing some weird punk that it's not punk because it is punk right that was a metal those were metal wrist dude i for sure strip away the vocals and that's a metal track and the and the drum breakdowns well let me say something brothers all i want to do when listen to metal is strip away the vocals okay yeah i get it you want to hear what he's saying i understand that that is that is that is what gets me man okay it's funny how people you know because i can take a throaty vocal but some people can't take like that kind of almost you know and trav you called it in the chat. I mean, because it was giving me just a taste of system of a down, like specifically toxicity, bro. The guy's singing about political shit, you know, like the delivery, the kind of
Starting point is 00:43:02 new metal guitar solo sound, the tone and delivery of it. Dude, you want to talk about some talented motherfuckers in this band? Oh, yeah. Those guys are awesome. They're doing time signature changes and stuff, just like Carbomb. I mentioned Carbomb in the chat, but I brought that track a few months back from Carbomb. That is not how I remember him sounding, bro. I don't remember seeing them at that show specific, but yeah, that was a fucking... They are way heavier now than they were. And they've, yeah, they have evolved quite a bit since... Yeah, because psychedelic porn crump is kind of makes you think about like more like a jam band or something.
Starting point is 00:43:34 And I remember seeing them and they weren't even jam bandy. They were psychedelic and punky. There was an edge to it, but not like that. Exactly, man. Yeah. That was fucking awesome. I haven't listened to the whole album yet, but dude, I mean, I can't fucking wait to dive into this shit, dude. So, I mean, that's what I'm wondering is the whole album like that.
Starting point is 00:43:51 I'll let you know in a few days, man. I'll give it a listen. Okay. That's what I like about psychedelic music, though, is usually it does lend itself to get heavy and then soft again or weird again. It does inevitably get like that. You know what I mean? Yeah, that was just an onslaught, man.
Starting point is 00:44:04 I felt like a flashbang went off at the very beginning. It's fucking caught me off guard, man. That was great, really, really good. That song was really cool, dude. Dude, we got some bangers tonight, brothers. We're on fire. Travis, what you got? This is going to change the speed a little bit, which is, you know, impossible.
Starting point is 00:44:21 for me not to change the speed after that unless I brought another metal track. But here's one thing we've learned over the many years of doing this podcast game and just being people who seek this kind of stuff out. Because I seek it out religiously. With the 90s, there is a bottomless fucking pit of amazing bands that I've never heard of. And dude, get ready for this group, man. Have you guys heard of a band called Rollerskate Skinny? No, definitely not.
Starting point is 00:44:52 So this is an Irish rock band from the 90s. Dude, and European and other nations, 90s alt rock is like a totally pool that we know nothing about. Do you think you got a grip on the state side? But then you're like, oh, yeah, and then all these cool bands from England. Exactly. So now get this. One of the members of this group, his name is Jimmy Shields. He is the younger brother.
Starting point is 00:45:20 Hang on, dude. Of Kevin Shields? Yeah. Holy shit. So Kevin Shields is the front man of my bloody Valentine's. He got of the droney Shugges, man. They changed the sound.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Yeah, they changed the sound. What's he called his slide? Glide guitar. Glide guitar playing. Yeah, dude, they changed everything. I know. This is his younger brother's band. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:45 So what more are I need to say, right? So anyway. Okay, so they were doing this at the same time then. Because my ability of Valentine was, you know, early 90s through today. But yeah, that's pretty cool, dude. They were both in bands together. So, yeah, they were together from 92 to 96. This record came out in 96.
Starting point is 00:46:03 All right, well, here we go. So Roll the Skate Skinny. The song just was really interesting to me, and I fell in love with it. The song is called 1,000 couples. Burbs of a fucking, like, Newcastle or something back in the 90s. Oh, yeah, man. Playing Halo 2 in Newcastle. grooving that shit.
Starting point is 00:49:20 Yeah, that was awesome, man. That's way more my flavor than his older brother's band. For sure. My Bloody Valentine, it takes, it's kind of like you have to kind of get used to it, you know? For me, it's just loveless. That's it for me as far as My Bloody Valentine. It's just, I mean, such an important album. But yeah, this was, I mean, it had, it was heavy.
Starting point is 00:49:40 It was wall of sound. It was shoegazy, yeah. Yes, it was heavy at the beginning. It had a cool, like, organ riff or a key, tar riff at the beginning something that was just fucking earwormy dude that's really cool dude how different like you got you got those two brothers like just freaking doing their own thing and it's totally i mean i've never that didn't sound like it came from the 90s man that could have come out today i definitely got 90s vibe on it but now i mean it's almost like schrodinger's 90s right you
Starting point is 00:50:08 told me it was 90s so i don't you know like but but it tasted like you know uh let's say shout out uh what's the band from uh pete and pete goddamn paleris hilarious yeah uh Yeah, I mean, I got that vibe from that. But not the beginning. At the beginning, it fucking was heavy, dude. That guitar or the organ stuff was really cool, dude. Really, really cool sound. I got a little bit of built to spill kind of the way he...
Starting point is 00:50:29 Oh, dude, speaking of, they should be at trees soon. In Dallas, you need to see them, Trev. And I'm saying modest mouse is playing with it. That's right, man. Like a 500-person venue in Denver, man, Laura are catching. That's going to be fucking awesome. And it makes me happy that trees are still around. Yes, me too, dude.
Starting point is 00:50:44 That's pretty awesome. No, is it the original venue? I think it's in the same fucking spot, dude. With the freaking tree, with the tree in the middle of the place, dude. I want to say it is. Anyhow, yeah, built a spill. Definitely fucking got some of that there too. Not so much maybe in the vocals, because Doug Marsh is kind of a one-off with that.
Starting point is 00:51:05 But the song structure. Yeah, totally, bro. It's very, very nerdy and cool. But like that the way that he kind of structure. They want to make different music, I guess. I mean, look at the names of the band. My Bloody Valentine and what was that? Roller Skitty Mini.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Roller Skate. Yeah. That's got to, I mean, that sounds just like more lighthearted, bro. My bloody Valentine. So, so apparently roller state skate skinny, that's hard to say, is, it's taken from a line from Catcher in the Rye by J.D.C.C. There you go. Nice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:39 So, yeah. Here's a line from the book. She's quite skinny like me, but nice skinny. Roller skate skinny. There you go. Whatever that means. So I get it. I get it.
Starting point is 00:51:50 All right. Who's turned to? Is it Mitchell's turn to you? Mitchell's turn to your last one for the night. It's going to be my last one. And this is a song that I know I sent you all that when the first time I heard it, I just like looped it. I said it on like loop. The band is called the Bell Air Lip bombs.
Starting point is 00:52:03 Talk about goofy names. That's clever. The Balher lip bombs. Yeah. Like bomb a bomb bomb bomb. The song is called Look the Part. And it's fucking great, dude. I mean, it's got like a 90s flare to it too.
Starting point is 00:52:16 I want to say in late 90s, early 2000s kind of song structure that's just, you know, the guitar is the star of the show, but there's good lyrical stuff and there's female vocals, which I've just been stuck on in the latter parts of my music listening, you know, early doors. It was all Black Sabbath and fucking, you know, foo fighters, but now it's a lot of bands with women sing, which I like a lot of. I've been in that, I've been in that pocket for a while too. Yeah, I know you all have. You all have highlighted that and been big, you know, you brought a lot of stuff forward with women and it, which is great for that. Anyhow, I just find it cuts more and it's just more raw, dude. Yes, I agree. It's just real.
Starting point is 00:52:51 So anyhow, yeah, it's my last pick and I knew y'all would love it, man, and I love it too. Awesome. All right, so this song is called Look the Part by the Bel Air Lip Bombs. I love it. I love it. I love it. There was like a desperation to her voice the entire time. And that's what I loved it.
Starting point is 00:56:56 It's just like right there. So raw, man. But never full like into, yeah, still beautiful. Oh, beautiful, dude. Yes, that's a good way to afraid. Like there's a, there's like some, there's something. There's something to her voice that's like there's some sadness there, you know, and like some like heartache and stuff. It's right there, man.
Starting point is 00:57:14 I fucking love it. Yeah, that was fantastic, man. I think she went to the wrong house, boys. I want to help her figure it out. I mean, it sucks when you do that. Just, you know. Hey when that happened. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:29 But yeah, so you said in the in the chat, it says it makes you think of the suburbs. So like what, what is it about what quality? What is that quality? Because I don't exactly what you mean. And like, there's definitely. Yeah, I know what you mean too, man. It's probably the guitar sound that I first heard that they're kind of, you know, riffing off of. It's reminding me of where I was at when I first heard it, all la the suburbs, the same suburbs that we grew up in.
Starting point is 00:57:54 Yeah. But I don't think that's unique. I really feel like that's probably a, you know, it's not, there people say Midwestern emo, and that's probably a fair way to put that because it kind of describes that sensation of being on a highway. with huge overhead lights at night and you're going somewhere because you have to be on that highway to get anywhere, you know, or in the city, you know, moving around in the suburbs of said city, you know, going to have fun or you're just done having fun or you're just cruising to cruise because there ain't shit else to do, you know, so it makes me think of that, you know, like, especially got like block party vibes from them also. Yeah. I shouted them out in the earlier in the chat and earlier song that we brought, but got on the guitar sound and just, you know, it reminded me of something I could have heard from maybe. TV on the radio from like 2010.
Starting point is 00:58:39 Yeah. Same vein, yeah. So, yeah, something I would have heard of Barnes & Noble, bro. In like 2012, maybe as late as. But anyhow, it kind of new, too, with that little bass riff and then, you know, the base came out. Yeah, I love that base. Yeah, and that was cool.
Starting point is 00:58:54 A little panicky outro, very emo-y, you know, and I'm always a sucker for that. There's got to be something up in Australia. Maybe it's the Veggime Sandwiches. Who fucking knows, dude? Because, I mean. It's great. And, you know, because that band of previous. Yeah, the porn crumpets.
Starting point is 00:59:08 Yeah. I mean, I know Australia is huge, but that's ridiculous, brother. They've got that much output lately because we could do it. You could do episode upon episode of just cool bands from Austria, rock bands from Australia right now. Yeah, sure. Probably more. Do a Perth episode. You could probably could.
Starting point is 00:59:22 Just a city. You could do it by city. That would actually be pretty cool. Well, that's awesome. Well, good luck following that cue. Maybe it could have been our last track. How well. We got two more to go.
Starting point is 00:59:34 Yeah. Actually, okay, I got to make sure I get to freaking. Let me pull up the old discogs. I got to get the date right on this. So, have you guys heard of a band called Calm? Yes. No. We did.
Starting point is 00:59:47 We've brought them to the show, my friend. Have we? A long time ago. Let me see what track I broke. It wasn't the one that you brought. So, calm. Demons reloading such a beautiful disease trigger. Pull this trigger.
Starting point is 01:00:02 So you're bringing a song that's a little bit easier to say, luckily. Yeah. But anyway, yeah. How do I not remember that? You almost have, when did you bring that, bro? I'm pretty good with the lore. This was November 2021. 2020.
Starting point is 01:00:16 That's not that long. Great track, man. Really, really interesting band. So I'm excited. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, so really kind of like alternative metal almost. Word.
Starting point is 01:00:27 So I'm bringing a track from their seven inch. It doesn't even have a name. I guess it's self-titled from 96. I thought this description was kind of funny because. it's one of those where it's like it expects us to know who the hell they're talking about. I think it's just because we missed the bus and we're, you know, like I said earlier, we're little babies. Yeah. So it says just after Mohender, ever heard of them guys?
Starting point is 01:00:52 No. Mohinder? Mo hinder. And right before Duster, never heard of them? I think I've heard of that. Calm surfaced to feed on the wage depressed suburban Gen X malaise. So the common denominator between these bands is Clay Parton, who is vocals and he plays bass and Calm. And he was in those other bands too.
Starting point is 01:01:18 But it mentions, so for Calm, this is a San Jose trio who reimagined Drag City. That's a record label as a stoner emo concern. Stoner emo from the 90s boys. Let's do it. Oh, okay. All right, so this is, again, from their 7-inch. This song is called Arlington Sunset. I never would have guessed it.
Starting point is 01:01:40 You would be the one to bring two metal tracks. Thank you. I'm really proud. I'm feeling it, man. I'm really proud. All right, here we go. Maybe it's being a father to the two kids. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:01:51 All right. Yeah. So like you said, calm Arlington Sunset. Short and sweet, boys. That's great. Just like the lyrics, I had to look at the lyrics because it was hard to understand what he was saying, but I wanted to. Yeah. those vocals were quiet, dude.
Starting point is 01:03:58 That's just how they put it in the mix. Yeah, well, I mean, I think it's probably an artistic choice. I mean, look at the fucking font and the name of the band, you know, the photo. You look at that album cover. Yeah, and the fonts. And this is not just not what you're going to be expecting. No, no, it's also that, which is cool. The juxtaposition there is really fucking cool.
Starting point is 01:04:18 And, Trave, you know that it has almost, I mean, it's teetering on sludge, dude. Oh, yeah. It's just right there into sludge metal. Yes, definitely. For me, and that's great. I mean, the emo delivery takes it away from that. And let's just throw this on here again, boys. It's the vocals that I'm just passing on.
Starting point is 01:04:35 But that's the thing. With metal. I get it. Wait, wait. So hold on a second. You don't like those vocals or you do like that? No, no, no, I'm saying sludge metal. Engineering said metal band.
Starting point is 01:04:44 But it's the metal vocals I can't do. Here's a thing, though. This is a metal song. Alt metal, but it is metal. Metal adjacent at least. So like, you know, you should expand. It's just like me with country, dude. I need to expand my expectations.
Starting point is 01:04:58 That's the yin and yang of y'all right there. You fucking nailed it. Yeah. Dude, definitely go listen to that song that was really long that I'm not going to say again. But like, when you look up calm, listen to the record that's, it's just like all, it's basically red. It just looks like red. It's a 12 inch. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:16 So again, it's like a self-titled. It was hard finding it because I found somebody, a DJ or something else on. Yeah, there's really not much that's put out by these guys. Yeah. I'm sure. And it's funny because, yeah, every single's. track on there is a long-ass track type. Yeah, they're just being goofy
Starting point is 01:05:29 with it, but yeah. Bro, that explains a lot of lore in the email, the early email that I like. That's why bands like Taking Back Sunday and Fallout Boy would name their songs, Goofy Long Names. Oh, like brand new. Yeah, that was probably a nod to bands that they fucking, I mean, that's like a, that was become a
Starting point is 01:05:45 trope, but they were self-aware when they were doing it at that point. It got a little jump to Sharky, but it was, you know, a meta about itself at a point, which is fucking kind of hilarious. It's nonsensical. But do you look at the, I mean, it is nonsensical? Because how do you say that?
Starting point is 01:05:59 How do you print it online, like a flyer? How do you get a radio to say that? How does it, you know, spell out on your little shitty pioneered faceplate? You know, is this still the name of the song, honey? It's like reading a whole sentence. And then it says the bay, you know, it's ridiculous, really. But it's also artistic and really beautiful break. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 01:06:19 By the time, yeah, I have the song name is that. Exactly, dude. But really cool. Really cool. Thanks for bringing that. I think that was a great one to end on. Well, we got one more. Hey, we got one more.
Starting point is 01:06:29 Oh, word, word. From Mr. Tebow. I just want to say one real quick here. I immediately thought of that song by Smashing Pumpkins called mayonnaise. Oh, dude. With that guitar squeal. Which, that was because this guitar was broken, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:42 And it was like a happy accident. But like, yeah. That came out before that tracks. I bet Chacom was paying homage to Corgan. Yeah, there's that heavy fucking 90s, gauthy sound there for sure adjacent to that. month. Yeah. Yes, you nailed it, bro. That's why it sounded familiar to me. Yeah, and there's so much fuzz on smashing pumpkins, right? So, like, there you go. That song was great, and I'll try and get into that Q's kiddie pool and make it more, more enticing. Yeah, I'm down,
Starting point is 01:07:12 dude. I got to shuffle that bad boy. All right, Traff, how are we going to wrap this puppy up? Dude, this is a freaking great what you heard, man. I agree, man. We got the solid tunes. That was a little word, because I didn't want to, you know, there's a lot of sides of music I like, And I was like, well, I could bring this. And it's my kind of, but now, this is literally what I'd been heard in lately. All this, yeah, this is all this music has gone really well together, man. It is a good playlist. That fucking instrumental track was banging, bro.
Starting point is 01:07:37 All right. So this is a band from Canada, Toronto. It's just, yeah. Go back and listen to our episode on Tragically Hip if you missed it because that's the gods of Canadian. Yeah, those guys. No, no, I listen to that. Oh, my God. What a great.
Starting point is 01:07:55 episode man I love those guys. Yeah, those guys were legends on S&L. Fucking awesome. I know. Gordy something. He was, yeah, more people should be named Gordy.
Starting point is 01:08:04 That's a great name, you know. Kew, you messed up. You had two chances. You messed up, both of them. Nah, Key's stuck to landing.
Starting point is 01:08:10 The double R. That's great. That's a great unique name. All right, so this is a very obscure band because I, when I went to try to find this track to, like calm wasn't?
Starting point is 01:08:20 Are you kidding me, dude? I'll give you an idea. The song, on YouTube had 12 views, 12. Okay, who's this band? I think it's like maybe a one-off spin-off band. They're called Dishwasher.
Starting point is 01:08:35 It came out in 2020. This song has like not even 5,000 plays on Spotify, so really obscure. The band formerly known, this could be a joke, formerly known as Nick Beers and the Pizza Boys. Fucking love that. I love that, bro. As the late singer's name is Nick Barr's, so I guess he went by Nick Beers. Of course he did. What's it take to be a pizza boy?
Starting point is 01:08:56 Yeah, this is from a little EP that they put out a two-track EP. Side A was called Minivan. Side B is a song we're listening to right now. It's called Your Livid. Oh, that was fucking awesome, dude. You know what? I heard, man, start off the, I mean, the first thing I heard was blur. I got my hair checked.
Starting point is 01:12:22 I can hear that too. I hear touches a weezer, like just fucking everything I'd like in a fucking ballop song, dude. A little bit of modest, like early. modest mouse. Sure. Yes, with the guitar. Just in the way, and the way his vocals were at the end there.
Starting point is 01:12:35 I have a correction to make because Spotify always does this. The actual release date was September 18th, 2017. So I'm under trust Band Camp over Spotify. But so like, listen to this. Now, they're giving us clues here to their influences. Under the tags on Bandcamp, one of the tags is a love for pavement, which is a band I brought last month. Oh, dude.
Starting point is 01:13:00 Yeah. That scratches the itch because I was like, man, it sounds familiar. It's kind of jangly delivery and the lucid. It almost sounded like stream of consciousness type delivery, you know, even though I know neither one of those do that. Yeah, dude, thank you for reading that because it sounded familiar. You want to talk about like, I mean, that could have came out in the 90s for sure. Yes, definitely.
Starting point is 01:13:20 The quality of it. So like, yeah, you capped off our kind of 90s-aught-flavored night with pockets of worldly shit nicely there, Treve. That was groving, dude. Yeah, that guitar riff, man. It was a little bit, a little jangle pop. You know, it almost sounded like a Beatles riff or something. Like it could have been.
Starting point is 01:13:36 Yes, bro. Timeless, fucking good, fucking alt riff there. Yeah. Well, I loved everything immediately. Almost every single song started off and I was caught right away or at least fucking smacked into hearing what it was doing to me, right? Yeah. Nice choices.
Starting point is 01:13:48 I didn't expect anything less. I mean, I didn't, I was kind of worried because mine were just totally fresh, but I knew they were good, man. Yeah. This might have been the most cohesive collection of what you heard tracks. It sounded pretty. cohesive all in all. I'm running it back, dude. Ain't that a doozy, friends?
Starting point is 01:14:04 Like, playing it all the way through. I might have to make a little mini playlist tomorrow and smack them on a playlist to play. Just see how they vibe all the way through. I think it was solid, man. They were great, dude. I didn't want to do anything crazy. And Quentin, you brought the fucking heavier. And I love it.
Starting point is 01:14:18 I love it, dude. I wasn't going to because there's nothing because if I do that, I can't just dip my toes, you know, and it'll be. I thought about bringing something really heavy since you're on the show, Mitch. like you could tolerate it but i had a couple i had a couple too that i have been what you're in and but we would have seen quitton maybe next time yeah yeah yeah for sure they all stuck with all of us hey man as long as it's not mushuga eventually you'll get it you'll come around to mishug dude quentin takes his coffee without musugia just putting it like that it's like it black it's true
Starting point is 01:14:53 i do you like black metal maybe i drink it black straight black man it's black metal i can't really Me neither. Me neither. It's like even worse than what goes. It's just too much. Anyhow, let's end on a good note here. Man, that was great, Jeff. Thank you for all the picks.

If I can't.
Starting point is 01:15:30 That kind of means I can leave one ear out. Well, I have to talk to whoever about. Oh, Mitch, Orion's belt. You ever got to a Iran's belt? Yes, I have. There's a really cool song I think called Papillon that y'all turn me on to a while back maybe, which means butterfly in a French, I think. Yeah, Papillon by Orion's Bell. Starting point is 01:16:26 No, thanks. He says it's fucking frightening, dude. Nope. Dude, it's one of the greatest pieces of storytelling and songwriting ever, dude. It's such a fucking story. I agree, Travis. Bro, the first time I heard it caught my eye because the name, right? And then I was...
Starting point is 01:16:40 Dallas Beltway. Dude, Quentin. I've tried to explain this to you before I did. It's just like watching a horror movie, man. It's just you're getting a horror story. I've seen them do the what's in my bag, Amoeba Records, recent. when it was a great episode, you should watch it, Travis. Chatpal, what's in my bag?
Starting point is 01:17:00 Amoe Records. Dude, I am Dog now. It was great. Yeah, we'll pay that with that. Yes, dude. And the front man was like, all his selections were just fucking horror movies, dude. And I was like, oh, that tracks. Of course, man.
Starting point is 01:17:10 He's just, he's just, he's fucking depraised. And it doesn't surprise me. He's on a road. He can't buy vinyl and shit. He's going to want something to watch, you know? It was a really good episode. So, Chapal's fucking cool. All right.

Starting point is 01:17:43 We need to hire somebody and pay them nothing. And then they could just, they could do all the socials and all that. Kiu, you even asked me a couple days ago for the login. You're like, I got an idea. No, no, no ideas. There were no ideas. I thought you said he wanted to get it going again. I did say that, didn't know.
Starting point is 01:17:59 All right. See? If it's still going in 10 years, maybe the double R's will take up the torch if they feel so inclined. That would be dope. Who knows what the fucking state of social media will look like in 10 years? Hopefully it's dead and gone. Yeah, truth. Who knows?
Starting point is 01:18:16 I think so, man. I think it's going to be dead. I don't think the future generations are going to give too flipping fucks about that shit. Dude, they're going to look back. at the at the at the uh snapchat or the ticot generation be like what the fuck we're all doing back then you guys look so stupid it's like when we look back at like people i don't know 50s and 60s looks kind of cool to me but like when we look back at some of those yeah if you're white dude that's about me if you pull that lucky car no that's a perfect segue in the song i think actually
Starting point is 01:18:49 it really is it is it actually kind of is cute the lyrics you got that's the thing you Yeah, you can't chat pile without licking into the lyrics. I love his doubtful squeal, bro. It's like a balloon. It's a balloon slowly letting air out. He's only, just take a walk on the wild side, man. You know, embrace your inner. I don't have one of those.
Starting point is 01:19:15 It's in there, dude. I don't have that in there. Oh, tell that to porn crumpets, bro. Chat pile takes me to the name is about like a chat pile is like a bio waste, eco waste pile that's just left with no fucks given by a company to sit there and poison the groundwater and the people around it, right? And these guys are just highlighting that that happens. That's their literal name of the band, right?
Starting point is 01:19:34 And this song is called, I am dog now. I've tried to get you to listen to it. I don't know if you've actually listened to it. There's a song by them called Why that's fucking brilliant, dude. Oh, I haven't even heard that. Oh, my God. It's called Why? And it's literally about why are people, why are they homeless people?
Starting point is 01:19:49 Oh, Travis. Yeah, you played a smidge of it. Yeah. It's like, why in this country? are there homeless people. That's like the whole song. It's just this, basically the perspective is he's just like going around and like making observations
Starting point is 01:20:00 and asking like why. I'm sure he's very confused. When you drive around in your tour van, you see house after house it's empty or for sale or apartment. It's a brilliant fucking song. Great band. All right. So here we got.
Starting point is 01:20:10 We're going to close out with chat pile. I am dog now. Thanks as always for listening. My name is Travis. I'm quitting. And I'm Mitchell. You all take care.
