No Jumper, coolest podcast in the world.
Before we even get into anything, I just want to tell everybody out there that if you want to support this podcast, a couple of simple, easy ways.
Number one, free options, like comment and subscribe.
Number two, head on over to nojumper.com, spend some money with us.
You know you want to.
And number three, if you want to pull up to one of our late night live streams,
where we listen to your music for a small donation of $100.
Usually it's Thursday and Sunday night.
So come on over if you got music you want to listen to.
That's probably the best way to support this podcast, since we don't.
don't make any money from ads because YouTube is hell.
That being said, let's get right into the interview.
This is my man right here.
Boonk, motherfucking gang.
John Gabana, you're playing solitaire.
What is that?
Why?
Yeah, we're going to properly introduce myself, John Gabana.
Y'all follow me at Gabana, sir.
G-A-B-B-A-S-I-R on Instagram, Sir Gabon on Twitter and Snapchat.
Got to get those numbers back up.
Yeah.
So, all right, we're going to stick to John, John Cabana or John, so I won't be confusing
to my fans.
Okay.
I want to know, though, have you completely forsaken the Bunk name?
Is that, is that era just over?
No, it's not.
It's just, it's like a difference between, because my family still call me Bunk.
So it's like, they're going forever call me Bunk until I die until they did.
It's a family nickname
But it's just like it's just that boom gang
It's just
No more gang
What you said
Boom gang
How that sound
Boom gang,
A whole lot of gang shit
Sound kind of ignorant
You know
It reminds me of wild times
That you had on the internet
Yeah
Let's just be straight up about that
John Gabana
Sounds like an eloquent gentleman
But a lot of people now know
That Boone's name is John Gabon
So now John Gabonis
So kind of ratchet too
Yeah
Slowly starting to merge together
I just make everything ratchet
Yeah
Let's talk about the last time that you were here.
You showed up in kind of a bad state.
What was that all about?
What were you doing at that time?
I was drunk.
You were drunk.
You know, but shit happens, though.
It's just like people like, people like the whole whole shit on me because of who I am.
Like, shit happens.
Everybody get drunk, right?
You drink, right?
I drink from time to time.
I think that the thing was is that it seemed like you were more than just drunk.
It seemed like you were on pills or something.
Somebody told me that you were doing heroin at that time.
True or false?
False.
Have you ever done heroin?
Never.
Never.
Never? Okay.
False.
Pills?
You ever get real deep into Oxies?
You were on Zanz and perks for a while, right?
I fucking love Oxi.
I'm not going to lie.
You do?
Would you have to avoid them at this point in your life?
I'm sober.
You're sober right now?
Yeah.
Like really sober or are you like trying to be sober?
No, I'm sober.
Okay.
So sober.
Super sober.
I mean, I've been on pain.
I'm gonna go with my jaw.
Oh, yeah.
Well, that makes sense.
What they give you?
Some pain colors.
He's not, you know, shouting out brand names at this time.
Yeah, I'm on some good pain killers, though.
I ain't taking it though right now.
Right.
So I feel everything.
I ain't want to be on here, like, dysfunctional,
and then people think I'm on some other shit.
Yeah.
I'm not going to lie to you.
That was one of the most viral things
that ever happened in the history of this podcast.
I went to Hawaii, like a week or two after that,
which actually I'm going to be out there on September 7th,
the baby shout out to Hawaii um and i'm in Hawaii and the waiter at the cafe who looks like
you know the straight up Hawaiian guy doesn't look like he's listening to rap or listening to a rap
podcast or following boom gang he just comes up to me he's like man i saw that guy pass out on your
show the other day and i was like damn i guess that was big yeah she was a year ago hmm here's the
question why were you hanging out with a bunch of people who were down to let you go on a live
podcast in that state because that's really what I kind of walked away from it thinking is like
he needs people around him who are going to care about him more because that to me did not seem like
they cared about you I'm not I'm not going to take away take away anything from the people I have
around me everybody around me cares about me it's just it's hard like it's hard like when I'm in a
certain type of mindset yeah nobody's going and then it's like I'd be breaking a lot of people
hearts. You know, a lot of people
care about me. I'd be, I'd be
breaking their hearts by you, you're not a good
friend in the long term or what? No, you know, because
if you care about somebody, you're going to be like, it's
going to be fucked up with, like, see him like that.
So, it's like, it looked
like I'm not in my right mind,
you know, but it's just, I
I'm going to do what I want to do regardless.
So it's like,
you can tell me no, but if I want to
do it, it's, so, but, you know,
I, like,
Like my boy G, my bodyguard, shit.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, he tell me what he believed.
Like, he always want to see me do right.
But, you know, I take his advice, but I'm still going to do what I want to do.
Even if, like, a nigga probably not snatch me up or something.
Like, it may have to get to that point, hold me down more.
You know what I'm saying?
I don't know.
Yeah.
Do you think you have a problem with sort of people who just hang out with you
because they want some kind of cloud or something like that.
They want to go around and be able to get into places and stuff like that.
Because during that situation, that's kind of the vibe that I got was that, wow, there's a
bunch of weird leech type people there.
Maybe, but you know, I don't even remember who was all around me, to be honest.
I know Boo was with me.
Kid Boo.
I'm blaming him.
He's a fucked up guy.
He should have to steal my cat.
Or he pretended to steal my cat more specifically.
Yeah.
Are we blaming him?
Is he the one who gave you the oxies that you're on during that?
Nah, I ain't gonna put it.
I'm gonna put the blame with myself.
I'm gonna take full responsibility.
Kid Woo's still your boy or not?
Nah, he's cool.
He is?
Yeah.
He just got jacked, I heard.
Shit, I don't know about that.
They took his chain in Canada.
Yeah, shit, I don't know about that.
Shit happens.
Yeah, that's what it is.
You weren't involved?
Nah.
So after that clip happened, though, like, what happened in your life after that?
Because you're always sort of on this, like, weird, like, up and down of, like, it'll seem like you fucked up for a while, and then you get clean
for a while and then
mine like crazy
so what happened after that
legendary moment
when you came on the podcast
and sort of
passed out
and smashed your head
on the wall right here
we painted at the wall
actually
because your forehead grease was on it
no cap
no kept
oh shit
oh shit
um
well after that
it's like
I really like
isolated myself from the world
was like
damn
I ain't had shit to say to anybody.
I just stayed in my own world.
To be honest, with you, just like, trying to get my hair straight,
trying to see what the fuck I'm gonna, like, fuck I'm gonna do with myself.
Right.
Yeah.
Interesting.
So was that sort of a wake-up call?
Like, oh, shit, my shit is really bad, or that specific incident?
I mean, yeah, it was like, it was like, I just needed, like, get my shit together.
Just, like, I got a public image, you know?
I mean, like, I'm already
looked at you.
You got a wild image.
Yeah, you know, but it's just,
it just made a little,
it just made it worse, you know,
but it's all good.
Right.
Shit happens, like I said.
I feel you.
People just want to, like, make it seem like it's all like,
because it's me.
Right.
Like, man, bro,
there's people out here on the street
that's drunk fucking falling down and shit.
Right, but they don't have five million followers typically.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Like,
right.
If I didn't have five,
followers or whatever. I mean, I ain't got the followers anymore.
Have you given up on getting that back? The Instagram account?
My label been trying to get it back. My label, I mean, my management, everybody wanted back,
but I don't want the shit back. Really? No, I don't want it back. Why, you feel like it's cursed?
No, I don't feel like it's cursed. It's just like, I like to start, I like to start everything
over. Like, I like, I like new shit. And it's like, I'm like, fuck that account.
It was, uh, yeah.
Bro, I mean, I just made this Instagram and I got like 300,000 followers.
Oh, that's pretty good.
You know, it's not, I mean, it's nothing compared to what I had.
But I just made it.
And I don't, I'm not active.
I don't post shit.
I got a picture up.
But did you feel like you were getting anything positive out of the Boongang account?
Like, I mean, you're making money and stuff.
You're doing ads on your story and all that shit, right?
Yeah, but that's it.
It's like, no.
I think I'm stuck, bro.
Yeah.
But, uh.
Oh, shit.
You're stuck?
I lost.
Damn. Yeah. I can kind of trash it this whole term, with me honestly. I mean...
I was playing this shit in county, bro.
Yeah. How long did you get locked up for it? And for what?
Two months. I did two months on a six-month charge on, I mean, six-month sentence. But they let me out.
What was the charge?
Guns. So this was the time you got arrested because they saw guns on Instagram and pulled up and arrested you, or what?
This, it was on the news.
when they
fucking
I stayed in
Calabasas
they went in my crib
and
there's some stupid shit
that's why I don't fuck with the internet
in Calabasas
they pulled up to your crib
yeah it's like
that's wild
because I used to like
I used to like post guns and shit
right
you know and I just
I just had
I just had got involved
in the hit and run
and so when I
like they had my information
and shit
and I didn't know
I didn't know
they was watching me
and then I went in
uh
I lost
it was a hit and run
and I had a Glock on me
and I just went to jail for that
So you got a hit and run
In your car you hit somebody else
Yeah
And then you just took it off
No no no I didn't hit nobody else
I hit parked cars
Oh okay just a couple of random part cars
A handful of parked cars
Were you fucked up
Came out
I woke up from my heart
I'm not gonna lie
Uh huh
But uh
But you had a Glock on you
And then then you did what
You left the car there
Or you just kept driving
I kept driving like a dumbass
I was um
What are you really gonna do at that point
I don't know. I was stuck and everybody like, yo, let's get a pot of here. Let's get a potty. And I'm like, no, bro, I can make it. I can get this car off and get another car. And then, uh, they, I hit, I hit behind the gas station. Next thing, you know, I got people running up and shit. I mean, police running up and shit. Right. And then they took me and then they took my partner. He took, he took my gun charge. But eventually, because I told him myself like a dumb ass to the cops. No, on the internet.
Just on your story?
Yeah, I was like, for my boy, he took my gun charge for me.
And they started trying to use that against you?
And they used that against me and put the gun on me.
What?
Yeah.
Rappers always say shit like that.
This is art.
Yeah.
I mean, it's not, but it could be.
And then I was like for my boy and then I had, like, I had my guns and shit on me.
And so it used that, wrote up a warrant, one of my shit.
And then like down the, down the whole last year, all that happened in like April.
And then like the whole year I was going to,
the court, going to court, going to court.
But it's cool, though, because it went from like,
niggas, like, I'm in there, niggas like, man,
you got lucky. Because it went from like, but I got
a good lawyer, shout out Michael Goldstein.
It's my boy. But, um,
what's the name? He's not over here.
I thought it to the camera. Right, okay.
Yeah, Michael Goldstein, my boy.
Yeah, but, uh, it went from like
three years to 18 months, to a year,
to six.
So you got pretty lucky on that, huh? Yeah.
That make you want to clean his shit up?
No. No?
It's not, you know, I mean, shit happens, you know, but it's like, like, nowadays, like, you need a pistol or something on you.
Right.
At least a pocket knife or something because, like, niggas nowadays, you never know.
But you're a felon now?
Yeah.
So you can't be holding guns at all, huh?
No.
So, I'm on probation for three years.
Three years?
I'm in probation twice.
So you feel like you just out of your butt naked?
They can't cause you lagging?
I'm straight.
Yeah.
I'm always straight.
Right.
Yeah, but I'm on probation in two different counties.
Where at L.A. County and...
And out there on Six Flags.
Oh, really? What'd you do with Six Flags?
Oh, you're gonna fight there?
I was walking. Somebody was like, I'm a bitch-ass nigga.
Just some random person, just a holl it at you?
Yeah.
And I...
That video never came out?
It's out.
It is out.
Is it the one where you're a job broken?
No.
Oh.
It's a separate one.
Yeah.
So some dude just...
That was like last year, too.
Talking shit for clout type shit.
Yeah.
I reacted.
How to go, though.
You win?
Yeah.
He got drunk.
He got jumped.
He got jumped.
By you and your boys.
Yeah.
I didn't think the whole time, though, I was going to court.
I didn't think they were going to go to court.
And like, the last day, I'm like, yeah, these niggas.
I'm like, okay, these are real niggas.
Uh-huh.
They came up to court and testified against me.
Dude, you beat up.
Yeah.
And there's like, I got a, what's the name too?
I'm like, bro.
I got a, what's your call a restraining order and shit?
I'm like, I'm never seen.
these knick br I seen these niggas once at the park
I never I've never seen them again I would never
see y'all niggas again a day in my life
what the fuck and I'm worried he got guns and this and
that and this and that wow
that's fucked okay let me answer
this what happened with the situation with you
getting your jaw broken it's some
some business
business what kind of business
you owe somebody money or something
nah it's handled though everything good
some shit I'd rather not talk about
okay
It's just a little bit of street beef type shit.
It's everything good.
Okay.
So that's like one thing that's a little bit too real to talk about.
Yeah, it's all good.
Okay.
But so in terms of having actual broken jaw, how's that been?
You had your shit wired up for a couple weeks, huh?
It's tough.
I'm not going to lie.
It's tough, but everything good.
It's just a little bump in the road.
You know, shit happens.
Did you have the-nigots get their shit broke every day.
Niggas get shot every day?
Niggas die every day.
Did you have the grill in your mouth when this?
happened they don't come out oh my god those are permanent he's permanent did they get
fucked up at all when this happened no no okay johnny dang for the grill strong strong
strong grill nice a lot of money a lot of money a lot of money a lot of
motherfucking money you ever look at your teeth and be like damn i wish i had that money right now
nah no it ain't got that rough yet new money come every day does it yeah where what you're doing
hey i just signed the deal shout out island records
Island now. Yeah. So what went wrong with a record deal with John Gabonan?
Okay. What went wrong with the lights global, little pumps label that you were with?
Duh, I was never really, I was never signed to him. Oh, you never actually did it?
Nah, I was, uh, Miguel, he was managing me. It was like, but I was,
we cool, but I was never signed. Yeah, it's just, uh, it's just business. Friends, Associates,
but I was never signed to him.
Yeah, but I did sign that, I did sign, well, Miguel, who was with them, he separated
himself and made his own, like, a label, and I signed to him.
Okay.
Management, Firehouse.
Shout a Firehouse.
So you still focused on doing mostly music-related stuff?
Are you trying to do other stuff, personality-wise?
Nah, you know, I, I mean, I want to get in the movies, bro.
Right.
I'm not going to lie, I want to get in the movies.
But right now I'm focused.
on my music. It's like a lot of people, a lot of people didn't see me in that like, that
environment, the music environment, then believe I make it there, you know, but it's like,
I wasn't mentally, I wasn't, and plus like, with the, I want to say two things, with the music,
like I wasn't mentally there yet, you know what I'm saying? And then it's like, I was, I was new
to everything, like the fame and all this shit. Like, you pull the nigger front of streets and
the nigga famous you know what I'm saying so I didn't like it just I ain't know how to handle all
that shit you know what I'm saying I don't know I was my head was everywhere right and I didn't
I couldn't really just focus on one thing so I'm not gonna lie I made a lot of trash out of music
you don't like a lot of your old stuff bro I'm like none of that shit that shit garbingo really
no yeah I don't like that shit do you feel like you're just rapping better in general now
yeah I'm like my head is more clear I'm in the better place and you know what I'm saying shit
Hey, my label like my music.
Hey, I'm hype.
I'm hype.
They're hype.
Yeah, I'm hype.
So you look back at that Block Boy at Jee
Klob, and you're like, that wasn't it?
I mean, it could have been better.
They like it.
They liked it, though.
You know what I'm saying?
It's cool.
But it's like, on all seriousness,
like all seriousness,
it's like I could be better at what I do.
You know what I'm saying?
Like music, it's like my, it's my passion.
That's another thing where I stopped,
like, all that boon gang shit.
It's like, that wasn't my,
my passion. And it's like, people wondering like, dang, bro, why are you doing it? It's like, I got
bored. I got, that's not something I wanted to do. Like, I did something. It worked for me.
And I kept doing it. And it's like, I was getting like, I just kept doing shit just to get
like more clout, cloud, clout. And then adventure, it's like, then when I see myself, because I watch
my own videos and shit too, it's like, damn, that's what I look like.
You don't think it's cool to be an Instagram star anymore because I was just sitting here with Fat Boy having that conversation.
It's cool.
But it's cool for the people who enjoy doing it.
That's not something I enjoy doing.
You know?
Well, you kind of got into the game doing something that didn't have a very long shelf life because it's like the stealing and shit.
It's just not going to work out in the long term.
Yeah.
You don't get in trouble.
See, and I knew that.
And, you know, that's why like, like my shit ain't never just stopped getting views or stop being looked at.
It's just like I just decided to completely stop.
That's true.
If I wanted to post something, this shit going to get millions of views.
You know what I'm saying?
It's like, my shit ain't never stopped.
Nobody ain't never like, oh, I didn't get to that point.
Or like, my shit was just worn out.
It's just like, I got to the point.
It's like, no, fuck it.
I don't want to do this shit anymore.
Do you, how do you feel when you look at people and they seem like they're sort of like children of Boone gang?
Like they're kind of just imitating stuff that you've already done.
Hey, if that's what they want to do, then that's what they want to do.
But it never, and I'm OG and this shit.
Never be another to me.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
It's just like, I mean, and it's cool, but it's, it's like, I don't even look at it any type of way.
If that's what they want to do, that's what they want to do.
Right.
But if you want to, like, if you want to get the politics and, like, niggas know where that come from.
So it's like, it's, but.
They'll be like an Instagram comedian, like, meetup one day when you guys are all, like, 50 years old and everybody will be, like, all this,
fucking talking about it.
And, you know, that's like, that's like another thing.
Like, niggas used to come up to me like, bro, you're funny, bro.
Like, you could be like the next Kevin Hart or some shit.
But it's like, I don't understand how I'm funny, bitch.
I'm not telling you no fucking joke.
You know, so I don't understand how I'm funny.
It's like people find what I found my actions funny.
But I didn't sit on the camera and tell no jokes or what the fuck.
Right.
Like, I ain't like that shit, bro.
It's just like.
Do you wish that you had been able to take that wave of attention and sort of
turn it into a style of you doing something that was more like comedy type entertainment
than maybe where you didn't have to break the law and you were able to just sort of
convert from something that was like breaking the law dangerous to something that was a little bit
more stable. And also you have exactly one move here that red and I going on in the black
town. Now I still got one set. Oh, I'm invested now. Yeah, I see. You want to play.
I'm just backseat driving. Yeah, it's something to do. Hey, anybody.
ever played cards on the interview?
No.
See, look, that's something special about me, though.
I'd be doing shit that niggas don't do.
You're wise.
Yeah, you know.
Beyond your years.
Like, the viewer probably would be like,
this nigga playing Solitaire?
What the fuck are you doing?
They're probably going to like, wait.
You know how to play Solitaire?
I wouldn't know how to play Solitaire in real life.
I've played it on fucking the computer so many times
that it would be awkward for me to lay it all out.
You know, but you know, it's like...
Now you've got another move.
Yeah, it's like...
A couple of moves, really.
But when you locked up, it's not much to do.
And I wrote a book, too.
You did?
Yeah.
And what's that all about?
It's just about me.
It's just like to give people a different perspective on me, a different outlook.
Because like people look at me and they think they know me.
You know, but a lot of people, they don't know me.
Right.
And, like, they think I'm like, it's just so, you know what?
I just wrote my book to give people like a real feeling me.
You know what I'm saying?
Like the real version of me.
And like they let other niggas know, like, I'm a human being too.
Niggas don't think I'm a human, bro.
Right.
I mean, when they see you just like doing all the shit that you're supposed to get arrested for
and not getting arrested on social media constantly,
and that's kind of like what you're known for,
it's like you're kind of inviting that sort of weird treatment
where, like, people are going to test you in public
because they don't look at you like a real person.
They look at you as this crash test dummy.
Yeah, but, you know, it's all good.
But so my book coming out, I got an EP dropping,
the book of John. Oh really? Yeah. I've seen the press release of that. Yeah. I got a song out shooter.
That shit. I mean, to be honest, shooters. It's like...
No, it was a Gucci man and young scooter song called Shooters. I used to be very partial to.
Oh, okay. Yeah, it's sure. You got a new one. To be honest, I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be honest. It's not one of my
favorite songs, but it's shit. Hey, everybody else liked it. Really? He's gonna go up?
I mean, I believe in myself.
I'm very confident in myself
for my music.
You know what I'm saying?
My new wave I got going on.
Very confident.
So do you have any like hard and fast rules for yourself at this point in terms of what you allow yourself to get away with?
Like are you 100% like no, I'm not fucking with drugs at all.
Are you still fucking with a hose?
There's another thing I'm curious about.
It seems like they kind of go hand in hand.
I got my bitch over there.
This is actual girlfriend?
Yeah.
Okay.
Of how long?
Uh, probably six months, but we know in charge for two years.
Oh, all right.
Something like that.
She was on Florida with you or not?
No, yeah.
Some shit, oh, yeah, one in trouble for you.
Some shit like that, bro.
I'm not good with that.
You are not good at time.
I'm not in the time.
Yeah, you know, I'm paying attention, bro.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, no, I'm not, I'm chilling, man.
So no hoes.
Well, one ho.
I'm being, I'm being in this interview and the station shit,
and then she's gonna get up here and jump across the table.
And, like, oh, oh.
That would actually be great for the views, really.
If she were to assault you in any way, I would love that.
Hey.
I'm not going to lie.
Really, it wouldn't be bad at all for us.
Okay, but, you know, what else have you, like, been doing in terms of your time?
Because I've seen you at, I went to Dave and Busters with my girl.
I seen you there.
Yeah, I was there with my boy.
Yeah, but I just been focused.
I've been getting my mind right, bro.
I've been focusing on music.
You know what I'm saying?
I just been getting my mind right and focus on.
music. Yeah, it's just, it's just a lot. You know, but like you, like you said earlier, I'll be
having, like, my up and down moments. I'd be going through, like, depression and shit and anxiety,
you know what I'm saying? Like, like depression, hard. You ever talked to a therapist about that?
Yeah, I did. And I wrote that in my book, too. I tried therapy before. How was it?
It was, it was, uh, I feel like it was a waste of my time. Really? You didn't get anything
out of having somebody you could just talk to? No, it felt good, like, to have a listening ear.
Right.
Because I feel like I was like I was never like growing up I was never hurt.
I was always ignored.
But it like in therapy it feels good and I like break down and shit.
And then after I felt like I felt like 15 minutes of fame or something.
You know what I'm saying?
It's just like when I get back home, it's just the same thing.
Like the therapy just felt like it felt good for that session.
And yo my therapist was like an hour away.
You know what I'm saying?
And then so I was still going through depression and shit.
So it's like, I just felt like I'll waste my light.
I handle all my emotions and everything within myself.
Right.
That's the problem.
That's where you tend to sort of get caught up within yourself
and you can't really express the shit that you're really feeling.
Yeah, you know, and so it's like I hold a lot of shit in.
That might be bad.
But I just didn't feel like, y'allup, I just didn't feel like therapy work.
But I did try it.
I did try.
I did give it a shot.
I.
Stownate.
Yeah.
But you don't, you have to be able to draw from that.
Yeah.
Like, oh shit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Either three at a time or one at a time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You forgot how to play solitaire on this podcast?
Man, listen.
I'm sitting here talking and trying to play it.
I forgot about this.
If you were able to clear this without using those, that would be insane.
That would be fucked.
Yeah, I forgot about this.
We've got to get more kids in a solitaire.
They don't judge me, bro.
I'm talking to the camera telling me on
judge me on something. I'm sorry. I don't even have to set the board up. Yeah. I mean,
I never thought about it until now. Um, okay. So I forget what we were just talking about
because I got distracted about it. We're talking about therapy. Oh, yeah, therapy, right. So,
you know, yeah. So have you ever thought about being on antidepressants? You think that you're bipolar,
that you're like not going to be able to keep yourself in a positive mental state without the
assistance of pharmaceuticals? My girl told me on bipolar. Well, I think she's just dramatic.
I think bipolar
I mean when you're kind of constantly
swinging between these states of like extreme
happiness and depression
that sounds
I mean to act like I don't mean to act like I know
I'm capable of diagnosing anybody but
You know what I mean I'm I might be
I got
I'm a little fucked up in the head
You see just handicapped tattoo
Yeah I did notice that just now
You're handicapped cripping?
I'm a little fucked up in the head
No I'm not cripping
I'm not affiliated with that gang shit
Did you ever join the Crips at some point?
Because somebody told me that at one point, like recently.
No.
I'm a good boy.
I'm a good boy.
So there was never any chance of you sort of getting put down with a set
and just sort of changing your life up and just be living that life?
Nah, not.
You're too famous.
Yeah, I'm too famous for that shit.
Okay.
You know, yeah.
Man, hey, I'm on probation.
Are you?
You know what I know.
I know police watching me and shit.
You ask me to you.
Oh, I don't do that.
I don't do that.
I don't do you, man.
Don't do me like that.
No.
Don't do me like that.
Hey, but you gotta do the right thing
and just lie your ass off
or just say whatever you gotta say
to get out of that conversation.
There you go, boom, you're safe.
Yeah, don't do it.
It'd be like that.
So you don't have any open cases right now,
but you are stuck on probation.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm stuck on probation, man.
But I'm chilling, though.
Everything going, everything running smooth.
I got my mom right.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I got my music.
I got a good team behind me.
I got good friends.
You know what I'm saying?
Family.
everything good.
Are you over getting face tattoos?
Man, I don't even got no room.
You got to fill a few little ones in there.
You got the chin and shit, the nose.
I can feel it right now.
Oh, you can't feel it right now.
It might be a good time to get it done.
That shit, not.
True.
I've seen a guy with a Nazi symbol in his nose one time,
and I always think about that.
Imagine what kind of mood you have to be in
and get a Nazi symbol on your nose.
Although, I'm going to be honestly,
I wouldn't be all that surprised if you would just woke up one day
with something like that.
I just kind of explain it for the rest of your life.
Yeah, nah. I won't do that.
Well, at least you made it out of your drug-fueled stage without.
I did, you know.
Bad.
But I'm not, I'm not, I'm not going to lie.
You know, I, uh, you know what I'm saying?
It'd be tempting.
But it's just, I'm human.
Be careful of your surround yourself with.
You know, you want to be around people that are going to point you in a positive direction, right?
Nobody, nobody, nobody ever influences anything bad when you feel.
Oh, so you're the one leading the charge, okay.
Yeah.
Yeah, and like no, nobody could ever influence me.
You know what I'm saying?
I tell the nigger, no quick.
You know what I'm saying?
But growing up, that's how I used to be.
I used to be a follower, and I used to be fucking,
be able to be pressured so easily.
But I got to, like, I had to man up, like,
just like been in the streets, you know what I'm saying?
Like, you learn a lot.
You know what I'm saying?
You really, you really see you niggas.
for who they are. And you just, like, I just learned a lot of games, just being, just being
out of my own. Right. You know what I'm saying? And I got a mind of my own. Like,
niggas look up to me, listen to me. You kind of got to be a follower before you can be a leader.
You know, you only have, but it's like some people will spend years, some people maybe months,
some people will take 10, 20 years before they figure out that they want to be in that role.
Yeah, but you see, I know you got to be a great, to be, uh, I read that, uh, like great leaders for
once great followers. You know what I'm saying? But you y'all don't know how to follow the lead.
Right. You know, but that, yo, that used to be me. But my mind, I got a mind of my own.
So nobody, everybody around me don't influence me to do anything like I shouldn't. If anything,
he told me like, no, but I decided to do, I'm going to do whatever. I want to do whatever.
I want to do anyway. I remember one time you told me that there was a Gucci gang remix with you
and Nikki Minaj on it that was going to come out and I was just like, wow. And then I never heard it.
But, you know, that was the information that was given to me.
They were feeding you that shit.
Yeah, like, I did it.
Like, I actually, I did my verse.
And, like, I had a song with Future and I had a song with Pirk, but the shit was never released.
You know what I'm saying?
Future people came in and they gave it to my, my manager.
And, I mean, he's my partner, too, but they gave it to him and then he gave me the song, and then I did it.
You know, like, people around me liked it, but I didn't like it.
It's just like, but that was, that was like, when I was like, oh, fucked up and shit.
Right.
I couldn't make good music.
I feel you.
I'm so ready to drop music, like, new music.
What are you holding out for at this point?
You feel like the world's ready?
Are you still just working on it?
Nah, you know, like, I got a lot of people who's waiting on me, like, waiting to see what I got playing.
Like, waiting.
Like, it's a lot of people waiting.
Like, a lot of people know about my book.
I put, like, I put, like, previews out there and everything.
So I got a lot of people waiting to see, like, what I'm going to do next.
Right.
You know.
You ready to deliver.
Yeah.
And like they, they like, shit, they hype.
They, if not more, like, my fans and shit, like, hyped about the John Gabonna era.
Yeah.
The new era.
Yeah.
Who is John Gabonica as opposed to Bunkang?
Like, is, do you feel like you're putting out something more intellectual at this point?
Uh, I would say, like, I'm more, like, wiser in my decisions, the decisions I made.
Like, before.
somebody could say something and then I react.
You know, but like, now I would probably like think before I do
or like think before I say something.
So I would say I'm just like a lot more wiser and mature.
Yeah.
But you know, I still got to be on my little bullshit and my little antics.
Right.
But it's just like say like I wouldn't go on the internet and post a gun.
You know what I'm saying?
Like shit like that or I wouldn't.
Like, even if I'm, I'm not going to promote, knowing, like, a lot of people, like, a lot of people watching me promote something I do drugs.
Like, back then, I'd be like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, shit, I could be doing drugs at the house, but I'm sitting here telling me I'm sober.
Hmm.
You know what I'm saying?
It's just like.
You're lying.
You're minibillion in the media?
Is that how it is?
Nah, it's just like, I'm just, I'm just, and like how I move is just a lot more wiser.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
But are you worried?
that if you fuck up because you're already a felon,
that you're going to go to jail,
and then they're going to throw the bucket at you
and have you doing mad time?
No.
No, I'm not really worried about anything.
Shit happens.
Yeah.
That's my motto.
Shit happens.
You've never been that concerned about the consequences
and shit you do, right?
And that's the thing, but that's the thing, though.
Like, if you're going to live a certain type of lifestyle,
you know what I'm saying?
Then you should know what type of consequences come with that.
Right.
You know, so you shouldn't be really worried about that.
It's just like I face it when that day come, you know, like, shit, my jaw is being broke.
Like, I knew I wasn't supposed to be out there at that time.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
I, like, I knew the situation what was going on, but I did it.
But I faced my, you know, you ain't seen me cry about this shit.
I want to know what the fuck happened in that situation.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, you ain't see me cry about it.
I took my lid like a man.
You know what I'm saying?
And shit, I hurry up and got up out of there.
I thought my jaw was down.
I put my shit down.
I hurry up and got a party
and get my shit. I'm like, yo, can y'all fix this shit?
Man, hurry to fuck up.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
I hurry up, fix my shit.
But you know what I took my lid like a man, bro?
But is that some shit where you're mad
about the person who did it?
I'm not mad at all.
Okay, but the old Boong gang would be like wanting revenge and shit, right?
I don't be mad at man.
Everything is good.
Okay.
Everything is good.
Right.
Well, that's good.
Boom gang.
Or John Gabana, sorry.
go, you don't want to confuse my fans.
Like, so, does he like, is he,
boom gangs? He's like being called boom gang or, like,
what's going on? You got to accept that you're going to get it to a
certainty stand, right? No, but you know, well, guess what?
You know, why do people know boom game? Because you promoted it like crazy?
Exactly. Yeah. So why wouldn't people know John Gabon in the same way?
I'm not going, like, you would never hear me,
you would never see me or hear me promote. And see,
that's like, people think, like, all them boom pages and boom gang shits and all
that, that's me. That's not me. That's fake pages.
Okay. You know what I'm saying? Like, all that.
that shit is fake.
You won't never see me promote that shit again.
You know what I'm saying?
It's like my mindset is in a better state.
It's and it's like, you know what I'm,
my mindset is developed.
So I'm not,
I'm not on that shit.
I think it's like it's all about the quality of the meme
because boom gang,
a whole lot of gang shit and like stealing something
and making a little video like that.
That was just people laughed at it,
people shared it,
people commented,
people told their friends about it,
it was just such a meme you got to figure out what the grown and adult version or like somewhat
more adult version of what john gabine is all about is that could still spread like that you know
and then with the that the social that the social media shit by myself i mean i had management but you know
i'm saying just like i was just doing that just like just that ratchet shit by myself now i got like a whole
team i got that whole team behind me you know what i'm saying they so like shit is going shit is going
look like it's going to look how it's supposed to look you know and look professional and
shit so like they're going to see to step up in my game you know what I'm saying like I really had
I really had to like step my shit up you know what I'm saying because I like I'll and plus like
I got to come on I got a I got a John Gabon like when you say that like when you hear that it's like
it's like John Gabon like you saw the name John man's John Gabon walking in the room
a sounds huh a sound like John Kaabondon
Nah, nah.
That sounds, it sounds fancy as shit.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Sounds like Carbonera.
Yeah.
I don't know what that is.
It's my favorite type of pasta.
Oh, okay.
I ain't had no pasta in a minute.
Let me tell you.
The only pasta I know is chicken Alfredo.
Well, that's a good one too.
Okay, so what are you excited about?
What do you have going on that you care about besides just the music?
I mean, I guess the music is a big part of it.
Yeah, you know, the music is the biggest part because it's something that it's a field that nobody's seen me and everybody is like, man,
This niggas is not.
Like, what is you doing?
Clown.
And now, you know what I say?
Bits, suck my dick.
I just signed a record deal,
a hoe.
Tell him.
I mean, you changed a lot.
It's funny to think that.
I remember when you knock that fool out,
or you like start punching on some fool
at a show that we were filming,
like a couple of,
like a year or so ago.
Yeah, you know,
it's just like a lot of,
like a lot of decisions.
And, you know,
I was in the Bible heavy when I was in county.
Really?
Yeah, I still got my rosary on.
So you bought this,
this Jesus life,
this religion thing?
Is this big,
you? You know what? It just, it's like I'm not going to sit here and act like I'm some,
I'm some big time Christian and shit like that, you know, because if I was, I wouldn't be sitting
here with a potty mouth, you know what I'm saying? But it's like, like this really, like,
it helped mature my mindset and like really helped me think, you know what I'm saying? It just,
like, gave me a different perspective on life. You know, it just really, that shit really helped
mature my mind.
So. That's interesting.
Yeah.
Just being in jail.
And learning about God in jail.
Yeah.
Right.
I got all my,
I got all my jail notes and everything.
Oh.
Yeah.
That's good.
I was writing, just writing, just writing, just writing.
That's what really helped,
like, mature me,
return my mind.
So they held you down in jail, though.
It wasn't like when Omar from the wire went to jail,
and everybody just wanted to kill him.
That's all I imagine it.
Like, you're walking through,
and everybody's like,
let me get them.
Man, being in there, it's like, it's like, damn.
It's just like...
Because everybody knows who you are.
Yeah, you know, it's just, uh...
Hey, I've got clouded everywhere.
But you get into a lot of situations.
There's probably a lot of people that want to get a little cloud
by knocking your ass out, right?
Nah, bro, I'm respected everywhere.
I'm not going to lie to you.
Okay.
Now, I couldn't even sleep in peace.
Really?
Police in here walking by staring at me and shit.
Really?
Yeah, you know what I'm saying?
Trying to hold conversations with me and everything.
They didn't try to molest you, right?
or nothing?
Nah, bro.
I ain't know that.
No, I don't know.
Just checking.
That is a weird question, you're right?
Yeah.
Well, I'm tired.
I've been doing any results.
I want to want to what's coming out of my mouth.
It's all good.
That's all good.
But that's in the past.
We ain't going back to jail.
You know, hey, it's funny.
When I went to probation, when I was signed up,
and then my probation officer, he was like,
because I told him, like, because I got to get permission,
like, to leave out the county or the state and shit like that.
I was like, yo, I'm an artist.
You know what I'm saying?
So I'll be moving a lot.
And then he looked me up and shit.
He looked up John Gabonner and this and that.
You know what I'm saying?
And then so he called one of his buddies over.
And then he was like, yo, he's a rapper and this and that and that and this and that.
And then it's like, all right, yeah, we get a lot of big people in here and this and that.
How old are you?
I was 22 then.
I just turned 23 a couple weeks ago.
Yeah, but what's the name?
I told him I was like 22.
and then he was like
he was like oh yeah
you still got
you still got some time
in the system
and shit like this
like I'm like
what man
you're a bitch ass nigga bro
like how are you going
wish like how are you going
tell me
like I got
like I'm saying
like I'm like
I'm like nah bro
it's just like
how you just going
throw that type of energy
on me
you know what I'm saying
I mean like
shit I don't know
it may happen
why I might
you know what I'm still
young and shit
but like
nigga if I tell you
I'm not going back to jail
bitch I'm not going back to jail
you don't throw that type of energy
on me
yeah the job should be
to help
you to stay out of those situations.
Yeah, I'm like, oh, you're not my probation officer.
Get the fuck up my face, bro.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I don't fucking call this bitch-ass nigga over here for it.
For real.
Yeah, like, it was just funny when you were like, do you, wait, you asked me that, right?
Do I see myself going back?
Right.
Yeah, what?
You asked me that, do I see myself going back?
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, but not, you know, but, I mean, I never know.
You never know what happens, you know what I'm saying?
Somebody, shit.
I don't know.
Somebody might try to do something, and I'm not.
to protect myself or like it may be in a situation i don't know bro you know what i don't know anything
could happen be careful yeah i am i am be careful you know what i'm saying but it's just like
it most i i could be as careful as like as careful as i want to but it just seemed like like
just that type of energy it's just some shit just falls you know yeah just like dang bro i'll just be
chilling i i promise on everything bro i'd be chilling right i'd be chilling i'm chilling
chilling
and holding the John Gabana
yeah
John Gabonna
and a whole lot of
John Gabonna shit
yeah I appreciate
you coming through
it was good to get an update
yeah no problem
you know
but I'm glad you had me
I'm glad you invited me
bro
because it's like
like
I've been
I've been off
of the internet
you know what I'm saying
like that's usually
where most people
get their information
on me from
and like
I signed a
deal, you know what I'm saying, coming out of jail. And I got moves I'm making and setting up and
nobody know, you know what I'm saying? And I'm not on the internet. And so like people don't,
like, people still want to know news about me and they want to know where I met.
Like, people don't even know like that's my real Instagram. You know what I'm saying? It's just
like people like people be looking for me. They don't know what to have. You know what I'm saying?
So it's like this like this interview is like it's going to help.
That's good. Like people, people are like, oh, okay. So this is what he's been doing. This
where he's been. And so, yeah, I really, I really appreciate you. We'll have the new Instagram
on the screen and everything just to make sure that they go on follow so you can help build back
to that next million. Yeah, Gabana, sir, gabana, sir. It was Sir Gabana. Like, I had everything,
Sir Gabana. It's just like, it's just like, I came up with that, I came up with that title
when I was in county too. I'll call my boy over there. I was like, yo, I'm going to make some
social medias because I had like I already had a plan to like to jump back on social media and just
just like just to get my shit moving you know what I'm saying because like I said like nobody just
ever booed me off and just like voted me off just like I just decided to walk away from everything
and then it's like coming into like I was like oh I got my mind right I want to focus on my music
I want to like because like I didn't have a career in what the fuck that shit was you know what I'm
saying like there was no career in that and I feel like I ran like a lot of business people away
like people didn't want to work with me.
And it's like now I'm trying to get the PR
and then people's like, oh, that's boom.
It's like, you know what I'm saying?
So it's just like, I didn't have, I wasn't sit.
I didn't have a foundation with that shit, bro.
You know what I'm saying?
It's just like, like what the fuck am I going to be doing
within the next five years?
And so it's just like, like, but from the people
who love to like entertain and that type of way,
that's cool.
And like people who's doing that,
like they're doing it in a more positive way
than what I was doing.
You know what I'm saying?
So it's just like I had this.
like I decided like, okay, I got to set myself up for something good and better in life.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
So, uh, got to respect that.
Yeah, you know, damn, bro, I forgot where the fuck I was going.
I'm not going on.
We've been going on all over the place.
Yeah, I'm like, but, uh, damn, what was I going to?
Oh, that's what I was saying.
So I called my boy.
So, um, because I was saying about social media.
So I called my boy and I was like, yo, can you make these accounts for me?
Right.
So when I, um, so he made everything Cirquebana for me.
Everything was circabana.
But when I, uh, when I got to jail,
Patty hit me up
and then
he gave me a shoutout
so my jump my shit was jumping
but soon as like
soon as it started jumping
like that bitch removed
when they removed me quick
I'm like damn
it ain't been in 24 hours yet
right you know what I'm saying
but so are you not allowed
to just be on Instagram
I am what do you have to change
I am
my team like my
shout out bro I got a good team
bro. I got a good team. But look, um, they like they, they worked like they they talked to
give me another chance. Okay. So it's like I'm like all right. You know and it's like I'm,
that's why I know like I'm blessed bro. Now everybody is just like even though it's like it's
like it's like it's a big deal and you know what I'm saying. It's like who you are. A lot of
people once your Instagram went away, they felt like you were just straight up gone. Yeah. And like Instagram
and stuff is a big clap.
Like everybody's, you know what I'm saying.
It's like, even rappers, like,
niggas want to know, like, what your Instagram look like.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, so it's just...
People won't even look up how many views your songs got or how many plays you got.
Yeah, they want to know what you got?
Like, how many followers you got and shit?
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, so it was just like, I was really,
I was really happy and really blessed.
But, yeah, since they took, they took on...
Because that's why I was telling you why, like, my Instagram is Gabana, sir,
and I had everything, Sir Gavana.
When they removed that account,
like, Instagram,
Finally, like months later, I decided to make a new one because, you know what I'm saying?
Like, I signed a deal and everything.
So the label, they got more power on everything.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, with me by myself or just my manager, like, it's not going to be much done.
But the label got way more power than what I do.
That's what they're there for.
Yeah.
So they allowed me back on Instagram, but they just won't give me my, they won't give me
circle, but I just put Gabana, sir.
Right.
Yeah, but everything else is Sir Gabana.
Right.
social media.
I even,
like,
I didn't even been
on Twitter.
Like,
I know my other Twitter
had like 200,
300, 300, 300,000,
but I deactivated and deleted it.
Oh, really?
Yeah,
it was boonk gang.
I deactivated that shit.
That's just kind of valuable.
Could have sold this somebody.
Have them changed the name.
I could have,
but I deleted it.
And then,
uh,
like I say,
I got like 2,000 followers on Twitter.
I haven't been promoting this shit.
You know what I'm saying?
I just set everything up just,
like,
like for times like this.
I'm like,
yo,
throw me on the interview.
Like,
Because people care about me.
Like people want to know where I'm at.
And you know what I'm saying?
Like, yo, throw me on the interview.
I give you my Instagram, my Twitter.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Like on the camera and then people are going to follow me.
You know what I'm saying?
Like nobody know where I'm at.
They will follow up.
Yeah, you know what I'm saying?
But like my Twitter, that shit.
It's on the screen.
It's on the screen.
Well, we'll put it on the screen.
Oh, yeah.
But I was saying like they, they verified it.
You know what I did?
So like, yeah, my Instagram will get verified.
My Snapchat going to get verified.
That's true.
My Spotify is already verified.
verified on genius, like everything, like, I'm setting up all my platforms, you know what I'm saying, right now.
Because I can't move like how I want to move unless all my shit is like set up and, you know what I'm saying?
Right.
But yeah, but in the means, I'm in, I'm just be in the studio working on my project and everything.
Fire.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
So, I got, I got, I got big moves, bro.
I got, I got, I got, I got a good team behind me, you know, you know what I'm sorry?
I'm really blessed to be in a, in this position that I'm in a better position.
Like everything, you know, everything that happened to me and everything that I go through, it's like, it just like, it just sets me up to be a better person.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, it's just, like, it's like, it's like, then, like, when you see me like, like, like, like, fucked up when I was drunk and shit over here, it's like, damn, man.
But, you know, like, that shit really, like, it really taught me, like, a lot of shit, you know what I'm saying?
So it's like, like, everything that happens in my life, even though, like, when I'm down, it's like, it's a teaching lesson, you know what I'm saying.
Something to be learned from everything.
Yeah.
