No Jumper. Coolest podcast in the world. And today I'm having a conversation with somebody whose name strikes fear in the hearts of a lot of people out here.
You like that? That was pretty good, right?
Great line.
Grave digger.
Not the monster truck.
No, sir.
The rapper.
Yes, sir. Grave digger, man, 33-100.
How you feeling? What's going on?
Shit, good. Well, swell.
Swell.
Yes, sir.
It's very swell.
Okay, so, I mean, there's a lot of places we're going to be.
start this, but I feel like your name has been ringing some bells lately. It's definitely been
some noise made. But I guess we should probably start at the beginning. Tell me a little bit
about where you're from. Bay Area. It's kind of weird to say where I'm from because my hood is
in L.A. and I grew up like all throughout California. So I'm just saying I'm straight south
central to the rich. Okay. Because we're from, like we've done a bunch of North Daniel interviews
recently and people always say like there's a lot of.
South Sider Hoods up there.
Yeah.
But we did do the Cheeto interview as well.
Chito, yeah.
But there's not that many dudes that we've really had conversations with to tell us what
it's like to rep the Blue Team from up north.
Well, I mean, it's always, it's always good reping the Sour, you know what I mean?
So it ain't really, I don't know how to explain it.
Like, it's good for us.
You know what I mean?
We out there and we are down here.
So it's not like we ain't ducking nothing.
so it's cool.
Okay, so just tell me about where you were physically born, not where you're from.
I was born in Truckee.
Truckee?
Where's that?
Over there by Nevada.
Oh, okay.
Hell yeah, I was born over there.
And then a few months, my mama, you know, came down to Oakland, California.
Okay.
So I was there for until, I don't know, like second grade.
And so your dad was just totally out of the picture during all this?
Nah, I got my dad, but, you know, my mom and my dad separated.
Okay.
So they separated when I was like four years old.
So I live mostly like with my mom.
You know what I mean?
Okay.
So I had my mom there a lot and then.
He was in his own world or what was here going on?
I would go with my dad every other weekend type shit.
And shit, that was like my little escape, you know, my mom, you know, tripping sometimes.
But I would go to my dad's house and it was a little bit more lenient, I guess.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
And so then what was Oakland like?
It was cool.
It was, I mean, to be honest, which it was kind of gutter, you know, kind of ghetto is, but it's straight.
As far as the people, they're a little bit more tough on the skin.
What do you mean that?
Like, we're not really, I mean, how do I explain this?
Like, they're tough.
Like, you know what I mean?
Like, they're not, like, very easy going.
Like, you really got to know somebody to be cool to just, just,
Just to live right there.
You got, like, it's like a little, like, like, like a hood type shit.
Right.
So, like, just being around right there is cool.
Like, I mean, if you, like, if you grow up, you know, and let's just say in Oakland or whatever, Richmond, you know, you're going to have your, you know, your people, you know.
If you're not from there, you know, obviously they're kind of like suspicious and, you know, with outsiders, you know what I mean?
Right.
But it's cool, though.
Right.
So, okay.
So when you first moved there, you felt like there was a lot of.
distrust or whatever? It took you a little while before you could figure out how you fit in
in this whole environment? Yeah, yeah. Okay. Yeah, it's different. You know, being a southerner,
being up north is completely just, it's different. But you already knew you were going to be a
South Souther before you moved there? Nah, hell not. Oh. No, no, no, no. No, I mean, I mean,
like, like, when I moved down to California, I mean, obviously, the Bay Area, I was months old,
So I was going to school over there.
Everything is cool, but just people are, like I said, tough skin.
We grew up in the, like, up environment.
So everybody's fighting, you know, all the little bullshit.
Okay.
So was the hood that you eventually became part of, like the dominant hood in that area?
No, no.
We were always, I guess, like, it was popular to be north, northern.
You know what I mean?
Up north, because obviously it's up north.
Right.
But, shit, we made it dominant in Richmond, shit.
I've heard about Richmond
Hell yeah
I heard a lot of shit went down in Richmond
And kind of went from one color
To the other
It was a swing state
It was quick though
It was quick
You ain't out there no more
Yeah
Really
Okay so what has to happen
In order for a place like Richmond
To go from one color to the other
Shit
I guess
It was cooler to be
From the soo
I guess
I don't know
How do you make it cool though
Shit
It would change the temperature
We would just
popping, you know.
You know, it was trending.
Yeah, it was trending.
Okay.
Yeah, it wasn't like, oh, yeah, we'll hop on the bandwagon.
I guess we were just dominating and, you know, skirted off the outskirts of Richmond,
you know, but Richmond is just straight blue.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's what I heard.
That's just kind of crazy to imagine a city changing that much in a short period of time.
Yeah.
Well, okay.
I'm still kind of confused about, like, how you ended up being a cell sorry.
in that environment. Like what exactly led you in that?
Me moving, coming down to L.A.
Okay. So when you start coming to L.A.?
When I was a kid. Oh, okay.
So when I was a kid, I started gangbanging at 13.
So I came down to L.A. I was going a lot of people.
And, you know, I've seen both sides.
And I guess, our shit, my heart was in the school.
You know what I mean?
Definitely.
Yeah.
So you're a big fan of L.A. culturally?
Or do you feel like you relate more to up north?
I mean, both.
It's like, I don't know how to explain it.
Like, I fuck with the Bay Area tough.
But I fuck with L.A. even more.
Like, I don't know.
Like, L.A. is, like, I don't know.
It's beautiful.
You know what I'm saying?
I don't have to really, like, look at, look at after my bag, like, over here type shit.
You know what I mean?
Right.
Over there, I'm, you know, every time I go to a restaurant, every time I go to a place, I'm
scoping up the scheme, you know, shit like that.
And over here, I'm kind of more a little bit, more chill.
Right.
Yeah.
Interesting.
Okay.
So, all right, you start, who do you even, like, start to come down to L.A. with that long ago when you were 13? Who are you hanging out with?
Shit, my great-grandmother was staying in Compton.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, my great-grandmother was staying in Compton, and I would come and visit a lot.
But besides that, shit, I got, like, brothers with my homie, so I just kept it like that.
Okay. What do you think led you to the gang banging shit in the first place? What kept you from becoming a normal?
kid.
Shit.
I guess it was interesting.
I guess that's what I was looking for.
But you were always drawn to getting in trouble and shit?
Yeah, yeah.
I was always getting in trouble and shit.
Okay.
I always grounded.
I'm going to take this away, all the shit, you know?
Right.
Getting in handcuffs, probably a couple times, but not like that.
You didn't get fully arrested?
Not like that until like I was like 16 when I got, when my parents moved me out to Mexico.
Okay.
When you're 16.
Yeah, 15.
15 like around there.
Why the fuck were they moved you to Mexico?
Shit, I got family out there, so they thought it would be a good idea to throw me over there
and maybe I was going to change, you know, but.
Did it have the opposite effect?
Yeah.
What part of Mexico?
Shit, I went to Wadalajalajalajal.
Halisko, yeah, San Agustin.
And if anything, I feel like that might have turned you up a little bit?
Yeah, because I had a lot of freedom out there.
Right.
It was cool.
What were the main cultural differences, though?
It was just like kind of wild and lawless in comparison?
Nah, it wasn't like reckless.
It was a different lifestyle, you know?
Like over here, it was more about guns and all that weird shit.
You know what I'm saying?
Good.
Banging.
Out there, there was like gangs and shit, but it was different.
It was more like, like, like, more loving.
Out there, the people are more loving.
More, um, how do I say that shit?
traditional. You get what I'm
saying? Like, you know, when
kids grow up, you're supposed to go
up, have a, you know, have a girl
move in, get married,
and do the whole shit. You get what I'm saying?
When I was, like, 21, when I first
went to Mexico, that was one thing that kind of blew
me away is I would be, like, hanging out with chicks
my age, and realize, or
even older, like, a 25, 26-year-old girl
and I'd realize, like, she still live with her parents.
And that, she thought that
the idea of moving out was the craziest
shit ever, because you do not leave your
family until you're ready to get married, which is totally different than the way I was
growing up where when I was 18, my parents were like, you're either getting a job and you're paying
rent or you're moving out and doing your own thing.
Shit, yeah, that's how it is out there.
Right.
It's very like traditional.
More focus on the family.
Yeah, 9 to 5 job, the regular, give your whole check to your girl.
Like shit.
Give your whole check to your girl.
Holy shit.
That's what the...
I feel like that would be very foreign to you.
That's that traditional shit.
You know what I mean?
You give your check to the girl and they handle the bills and, and, you know, and, you know,
supposedly you get a damn allowance.
Jeez.
But hell not.
Yeah, that ain't for you?
No.
Okay.
No.
But so did you live in L.A. before you moved to Mexico or you were just visiting here and there?
Not visiting.
Okay.
I was visiting.
Yeah, I was fucking around, come over here for a while, vacation, shit like that.
So were you actually getting in trouble in Mexico or just fucking around?
Yes, I was getting in trouble.
Okay.
Yeah.
And over there, like, yeah, they'll beat your ass.
Like, the cops going to put you on the back, beat on your.
You think cops in America are bad
Until you meet the Mexican cops, I'm assuming it's a totally different level
Man, it's there I mean shit, bro
I'm not gonna lie, the Mexican cops ain't playing no
Yeah, hey being your ass
Right
And then they're gonna handcuff you like
Like with your leg up, all types of shit
And they want some money
Yeah, they're gonna always break your pockets
Right, every time
Every time
Yeah
So even if you get arrested, they're still gonna take all your money
Or you give them money and then they don't arrest you
shit i'm gonna be honest with you this is how much you got and if you got a lot in your pocket that's gone
and they might just go throw you off and in the desert is um el rancho but what if i'm like i don't know
what if they catch me with a gun which is not very realistic because i don't know where the
i'm gonna get a gun in Mexico but what if i got a hundred dollars on me they're gonna take the
hundred dollars and be like go do keep doing your thing oh no i ain't no damn poli okay but you never got
arrested out there yeah i've been arrested yeah i got arrested yeah i got arrested
this was some punk-ass shit.
Okay.
For a duby.
A duby for real?
Yeah.
We did just like,
it was a big deal.
Damn.
Yeah,
nah,
they just,
because I guess we was
dressed like straight cholos
and shit,
you know,
dickies,
big bags,
you know?
And so they see that
and they're not
Oh,
they,
what,
they're not,
there's no such thing
that's getting pulled over
over there,
they're just running up on you.
Mm.
You know what I'm saying?
Right.
They're running up on you
even if you're walking over here,
you know,
they don't run up on you
when you're walking.
No.
shit.
Holy shit.
So at what point do you say
do you come back to America?
Shit, my mama told me she was pregnant,
so I ended up
feeling like I needed to come over here
and take care of what type of shit.
Okay.
Yeah.
So how long were you actually out there?
For like three years.
Okay.
Three years.
You're your happiest to come back?
Yes.
Really?
Hell yeah.
I was living like gutter shit out there, man.
It was bad.
It was hella bad out there
in Mexico.
Bad, bro.
It's not the same.
We don't get like,
I mean, they got,
malls and shit like that, but the shoes
are expensive as fuck.
You know, we're wearing the same shit for like a year,
two years.
Hell yeah, it's hard.
Yeah, like getting fresh out there.
It's like only for the super rich.
Man, if you got some Air Force was over there,
you demand.
Really?
Yeah, well, back then, I don't know how it is now,
but shit back then you got some little Air Force as you
like that, yeah?
So you come back and you move back to up north?
Yeah.
And then what's life like once you get home?
Are people looking at you different?
because, like, is that like you just went to prison?
You just went to Mexico, so you got a little bit of extra respect.
My homies wasn't tripping.
Like, they were just, like, like, I had moved out, whatever.
But it wasn't like no respect thing.
Like, oh, my God, you went to Mexico.
Nah, fuck.
No, it was just, you know, you just got to meet and see different things, you know what I mean?
Right.
So the homies wasn't really tripping.
But when I came back, it was all love.
Shit.
It was all love.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, yeah.
Definitely.
Were you thinking about rap?
during all this?
Nah, you know what?
I would do like little freestyle and shit
like that, but it wasn't no serious
shit. It was just
some backyard, you know,
getting high with the thugs.
You know,
you know, kick a little freestyle.
Okay. And you were still
in high school at this point?
I never even went to high school.
Even when you were in Mexico?
No. Really?
Yeah. How did it?
Push it.
Just hanging out every day?
I thought they sent you there
to go to high school there.
Yeah, but I got kicked.
out of two schools, man. I couldn't
go to school. So you tried going to school
there and they kicked you out twice?
You were worse than all the other Mexican
kids. I went over there, went
to a school, I did good for like
two months, and then I started seeing
that my homies from my hood's
family was over there.
And it was out with, done.
I stopped going to school.
I kept going in trouble. My dad
would force me to go, and then I
stopped going. And then I told my dad,
I'd rather go work.
Yeah, my dad was tripping
Okay
Hell yeah, he was tripping
And then after that I ended up coming back
So when you come back
Do you get a job out here?
Shit, I was working in construction
I was working in construction for a little bit
And then
But at the same time, shit
I was in construction
But I was over there like
Scoping out the homies and shit like that
Because you know when you go to a different place
You know you see people that you know
And shit like that you want to go kick it
You know what I mean
Type shit
So I started getting in trouble again
You know,
I mean.
And you actually get locked up or like?
Hell yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
I got caught out with a burner first and then it just added up to that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
So how long you get locked up for for that one?
No.
It was my first time really getting in trouble.
So.
Okay.
Out that bitch.
Okay.
And then I got caught with a stolo.
What's that?
Like a G-ride.
What's a G-ride?
A stolen car.
Yeah.
What?
What? We don't say that.
What do y'all say? It's stolen car?
Stryker.
Oh, shit.
That's a little more specific.
Yeah, the striker. I mean, it depends, though.
If you steal a hoopty, if you steal a hoopty, is that a striker?
I mean, if you do the right thing with that.
That's a boopty.
Yeah.
Ain't no striker.
I've never stolen a car. I don't think I've ever been in a stolen car. I don't think so.
How you know?
I don't know. But if they did, if it was, I never got told about it.
Yeah.
Shit.
But yeah.
Okay.
Fucking around.
So, all right, like, what's life like during that time period, though?
This is all before you start rapping.
Yeah, gang banging.
Straight gang banging.
Just on the street, trying to find problems with shit, like that.
Okay.
Yeah.
And it's just always all the Serenios versus all the Northerners out there or what?
Shit.
I mean, if you see it, yeah.
If you say that like that, yeah.
Or is it a lot more specific like that?
Like, does it?
Nah, it's not.
North South. South
Southern games beef with each other out there or not?
Nah.
It's pretty united.
Make a bigger fish to fry?
Yep.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
Here you go.
Here you go.
I'm just asking.
So you were living in Richmond?
Yeah.
For how long or at what points in your life?
Shit, I don't know.
Maybe like after I came back, I've been staying over there.
Okay.
So I came back when I was like 17, 18.
and then I just stayed in Richmond
and then, yeah.
And that was around the time
that it ended up switching colors,
Richmond?
Oh, no, no, that's this big change.
That shit.
Oh, that was a long time ago?
Yeah, that shit been.
That shit been like that.
Oh, all right.
Hell yeah.
That shit been like that.
They ain't never been on red like that.
Oh, okay.
You know what I'm saying?
Okay.
Yeah.
And you ever been to Antioch?
Huh.
Well, I know you heard me referencing you on the big tone interview, right?
I didn't say your name, but I was alluding to you.
Who?
Who?
Um, it was another rapper from up north.
I was in a Bjorn.
And I asked him about the fact that you, on some demonic-ass drill rappers shit,
decided to make a shirt with various deceased rappers on it.
I was kind of taken aback by that.
I'm like, wow, that's a level of evil that I don't even normally see from the Chicago guys
or the New York drill rappers or what?
That she got me choking.
What?
What's that?
Choking?
No.
You're flying there
coughing
Okay
Is that I'll pack
Well yeah I got that part
But
I'm just like
I feel like the woody thing
In particular
That's probably like way before your time
Right
It don't matter
Okay
That shit don't matter
He's just like a symbol
To
Shit
I mean
Call me a scrap
It's bad
You call you that
I don't know
What you're talking about
Nah
No I'm just saying
In general
In general
Call us a scrap
But it's bad, you know what I mean?
Uh-huh.
It's bad.
That's it.
That's the ultimate disrespect.
Yeah.
You know what I'm talking about?
So somebody called you that?
Yeah.
It's always.
You felt like at that point that opens the door for you to dis any and all loved ones.
Shit.
I don't know.
You're having a hard time talking about this because there's like very strict protocol about what you're supposed to discuss?
Shit.
Nah.
You don't want to have this podcast end with a DP?
Ain't no DP.
man, you crazy.
There's no DPs?
What, no.
He trolling out.
There's got to be some DPs.
He trolling now.
How else are we going to keep order
if there's no DPs?
You need a D.P.
For sure.
For sure.
A lot of people would say that, yeah.
Shit.
But yeah.
Okay.
When you start getting face tattoos?
Shit, when I first got like that.
About 19.
So a lot of those are from in there?
Yeah, all my shit.
You have to cover up a name?
Right here?
Hello, some there, yeah.
What was the name?
Was a girl?
Type shit.
Shit, so I just wanted to make that shit clear.
I'm just, that's an example of the Gombola.
It goes before anything.
The what?
The camp?
No.
The camp.
Yeah, the camp.
The camp.
That's the camp.
The camp.
Shard, look this out.
What's Campola?
Am I going to find some evil shit?
Nah, it's a camp.
It's just a camp.
Hmm.
I'm going to be the square dude, looking up a word.
Go ahead, brother.
Hmm.
It's the camp.
I probably don't even know to spell it.
See, I'm not internet fluent enough.
All the search results are in, oh, yeah, there we go.
The camp goes, you feel me?
Campo, a field in an enclosed area of land where crops are grown.
Yeah.
That's actually an Italian.
Never mind.
It's too much pressure.
Okay.
So the three dots, though, over the two lines, what's the definition of that?
I don't know what you're talking about.
because I notice a lot of the guys I've had on here
I have like a four dot thing going on
That's one too many you're telling me
I don't know what you're talking about
I wish I could just see what the fucking name is on there
It's just like covered up like a little too well
Also what do you got right on the top of that?
A big ass B, what's the B for?
My hood
What is that?
What hood?
Man, I know you search this up Adam
Maybe I didn't do the research as strongly
As you thought I would have
you're better than that.
Hey, you're assuming
I know more than I know. That's good.
Because you do.
I don't actually know.
I mean, probably if I look through this a little bit more I can remember.
Investigator.
Good investigator.
Yeah, but I'm not going to lie to you.
I was a little sick yesterday, so these notes might be
a little bit not as up to date as they should be.
I had to do a cooking reality show yesterday.
Yeah, I see.
Oh, f*** up.
And it was a cassidia, too.
What that was a good thing?
Really doing the Rasa bad, man.
Oh, yeah?
You?
Yeah, I lost.
Well, I guess I probably shouldn't spoil it.
Did you just put cheese?
Cheese and carnage soda, yes.
That's it?
I think my guacamole was particularly bad.
What did you put in there?
Almost nothing.
Onion, tomato, and avocado.
Squeeze the lime on it.
I didn't fucking, like, mash it up enough.
You should have hit somebody up.
When I saw the girl, when I saw hers,
I was like, damn, you go.
like a nice smooth texture there.
My shit is chunky as
here.
Yeah.
So that happens.
That's what that is.
You probably wouldn't have wanted to eat it.
No.
They were mad at me for cutting it inside the frying pan as well.
I'm giving away the whole episode.
Okay.
So any of, I'm trying to like decipher the face tattoos exactly though.
RIP smoke?
Who smoked?
Mahomy, RP smokes, man.
R-R-P,
flacco demon,
toks,
all the homies, man.
Okay.
Yeah.
When you really start
losing loved ones?
Shit,
when I was in jail,
man.
Mm.
I mean,
I lost,
I lost,
damn there.
All my homies
when I was in jail.
Fri-da.
Shit just started
going crazy or what?
Hell not.
It wasn't even
not no option.
To be honest with you,
it was really,
it was really on some,
uh,
you know,
on some,
like,
natural cars type shit.
You know what I mean?
Like, my homie got, got that, you know what I mean?
Die.
You got fucked up by natural causes?
Not from, from diabetes and shit.
Oh, shit, man.
Yeah, my nigga toast, yeah.
That's weak.
That sucks, man.
Yeah.
Okay.
Real killer, though, nigga.
Oh.
Yeah, that's, yeah.
My nigga tugs, man.
Okay.
So, at what point did you end up doing more jail time during all
though? Shit. Well, my first
my first, um,
my first prison time.
Shit, I don't know. I'm going
down for some, uh,
for some shooting and shit. Yeah, you shot
somebody on video?
I mean, how you know? Well, that's word on the
streets. Okay. Yeah.
How did that happen? What,
unfolded in that situation?
Shit, you know,
just game.
So you just
saw your man and you just had to do what you had to do?
Shit, something like that.
Shit.
Something like that.
And so how long you go down for?
I did four years.
How come only four years?
Normally shooting somebody's going to be more, right?
I didn't shoot them over the waist.
Oh, really?
Yeah, it was a salt with a farm.
So you aim for the legs and it's a totally different charge?
See, he's starting.
Oh, man, what?
I'm just asking.
Yeah, I mean, it depends where you shoot somebody.
Right.
When you pop somebody in the wrong spot, one's greater than others.
Right.
Yeah, so I got a little assault with a farm.
Sometimes I hear the rappers talking shit about the leg shots, though.
It's okay.
And they make him do the tiptoe.
Oh, yeah.
You were just trying to help him learn to dance?
Yeah, he would not.
That's fucked up.
He was all right, though?
Huh?
He was all right?
Shit, I don't know.
He told on you or not?
Yeah.
He did.
Yeah, he pointed me out.
Really?
Yeah, that was six-pack.
Wow.
Yeah.
That's basically what convicted you.
You fight it or you ended up taking a plea?
I took a plea.
There was no chance.
No, I just didn't want to get it.
worse than what it was, you know what I mean?
Okay.
Took that shit.
That's it.
How was those four years?
Rough.
That shit was rough.
It was my first time, so I went in that
motherfucker-knit.
Clueless type shit.
You know, I got a homie's like
try to school me and shit like that.
But you don't
know until you actually go live that
my fucking.
I actually go do that shit.
So, that shit was rough,
but the program is good, though.
So don't you start having to be cool with your ops when you're in there?
It's all about race?
Type shit, yeah.
It's really, yeah.
I say in my car, they stay in there.
You know, I don't go against the program.
So it's not that you have to be buddy-buddy.
You just can't go fight each other all crazy?
I just don't go against the program.
That's it.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
Was that hard for you to get used to?
No, because the program was rules.
So you respect the...
Yeah, I respect the program.
Always. You've got to respect the program.
Always.
Is anyone bigger than the program?
Huh?
They say nobody's bigger than the program.
Nope.
And it's going to stay like that.
So you got locked up in solitary for a year straight?
Or?
I was in the year, yeah.
What was that like?
Ugly.
Find my shit?
Yeah, it was ugly.
Really?
Yeah, 48-hour lockdown.
So I had like an hour every other day.
To do what?
Phone call shower.
Okay.
And you were around the other inmates during that time period?
No, we were just in the D.S.
Uh-huh.
Hell yeah, we were just in the hole type of shit.
Okay.
Yeah.
And do you think that really fucked you up?
Kind of, because shit, man, I'm so used to being out on the street,
put me in the motherfucking bathroom for fucking a whole year
and let me come out for a year to make a phone call year.
It's going to make me kind of frustrated.
Did it make you want to leave the streets behind, or it just make you want to, like, stay out of trouble?
I mean, shit, once I seen I can do it, it was nothing.
I felt like it is what it is.
I already went to it, type of shit.
But it changed you a lot as a person?
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know, you learn morals.
You know, you learn a lot of shit that, you know, you wasn't taking advantage of when you're out type of shit.
But were you really, like, learning in there?
It feels like it would be the opposite of learning.
It's just like you have a time to think.
Maybe the first time I wasn't like on some, I'm going to do good type of shit.
I was just going to be, I'm going to try to do it better.
Yeah.
Sounds rough.
When you get the name, uh, grave digger?
In the fair.
Okay, while you were locked up?
Yeah.
What did you do that have been stuck on your life?
I just had a Chicago partner that he would just, you know, call me digging.
You know what I'm talking shit?
Uh-huh.
He said I looked like one of his partner or whatever.
So I ran with that motherfucking.
It sounded good.
What would everybody call you before that?
What everybody called you before that?
No, nothing.
Your government name?
I guess.
Also, that feels like a bullshit answer.
My friend told me that I looked like his other guy.
I mean, that doesn't.
It's okay.
You're literally in there for shooting someone.
You're telling me that's how you got the name.
I feel like he's trying to pull the wool over my eyes.
All your friends are laughing at her asses off here.
You're going to take a shot with me or what?
No, we need another camera to show these fools laughing.
Listen, I felt sick as fucking.
yesterday? I am not drinking today.
Would you drink? I don't really drink.
Then what did you mean you fell sick?
Listen, you bring me some walk-heart? Yeah, we can drink.
1942, you can get that out of the grocery store. I'm all right.
Shit, that's okay. Yeah.
It's my preference. It's a walk-hard?
Yeah, literally, yes. Look at it. Look at him. He's stinky.
Is my mouth salivating at the idea that yes.
Binky.
You don't get any perks? No, I'm okay on that.
You want perky? I just interviewed a bitch who lost use of her legs from doing too much
Nuss.
They all saw it.
You need a perky, though?
I don't know if I'm taking any purse from you.
I don't know.
What?
Not for me?
Not for me?
I don't got shit.
You might have a different mix in there.
Never.
I don't f*** around.
Nah?
The up north perks, I don't know, man.
Whoa.
You got some wings?
I don't fucking around.
No, you don't do that at all?
You never had any interest?
You know?
I had a little, little wook, you know what?
Yeah.
I was fucking around in prison with heroin and shit, but I fucking stop all that shit.
all that shit.
How's the H?
Ugly.
It wasn't good?
I'm cool off that.
Yeah.
That's ugly.
Right.
Ever again.
A lot of respectable dudes in the streets go to prison and then just start with heroin and shit, huh?
Yeah.
Past time.
A little pastime, I guess.
Yeah.
I think about when in there, I probably trying to get healthier.
I doubt it.
No?
It doesn't work like that?
You don't look like that person.
What?
You look like you about to go away.
in.
Yeah.
Nah, that does sound good.
But also, if getting smacked is going to stop me from doing
fucking push-ups and shit, then I don't know.
I'm going to have to make a decision at some point.
Hell not.
He wants to walk hard?
What's in that cup?
I know you guys ain't all drinking at 92.
No, that's 42.
Oh, shit.
Okay.
You got some wind.
Oh, no.
You got a burrito.
Look at that.
Man, you're still hungry?
You ate?
No, I'm good.
Yeah.
Why ain't you going to eat?
I had a burrito this morning, actually.
It was a cassidia from yesterday.
You want to see it?
Let me see that nasty shit.
I want to hear you.
This was mine.
That shit burnt.
Yeah, definitely burnt.
You got big ass and onions on you?
That was the person I was competing with.
It looks a little bit more respectable, huh?
Yeah, she looked like she was making a design on that.
She looked at like she's at least thought about this before doing it, yeah.
Hell yeah.
Yeah.
So, okay, I'm going to keep moving.
down this list right here.
Okay, so the first
offer when you shot that dude was 35 years,
though. How'd you end up getting four?
No evidence, like shit.
Didn't have evidence besides the video?
Besides, like, it wasn't like, so like I said,
like when I shot because, it was
below the shoot, you know what I'm saying?
Okay. So when I first got my deal,
it was four years.
It was like straight four years.
You know what I'm saying? It was a 245
AB or some weird shit.
I don't know. But, um,
I did that little shit
and then I ended up getting
caught up with a fucking shank
and then they added a year to my shit
concurrent so I did my little
shit and got out
so having a shank in there is pretty much just required
in order to survive or were you just
doing your thing? I just had one
for myself
so you can get away with not having one
it's not like 100% required
I don't know what you're talking about I don't know
I just for myself yeah
I have one
Okay. And so you had to do an extra year as part of that?
Yeah. Interesting.
So it was like five. So like three and some change.
And how long do you end up fighting that case before you?
A year.
Okay. A year. A whole ass year.
Damn.
Yeah.
So after that though, you just come back in and just go back to regular life?
How should it change after that?
Nah, I got out. What do you mean when I got out?
Yeah.
Shit, I got out.
I got out. Try to live a good life.
and then I lost my job
and then I started fucking around again
and then I got caught with a Glock
and then went to the feds
how long?
Three years
Oh shit
So you're already a felon
And then they catch you with a gun
So you got to do another three years?
Yeah, it was 36 months
Was it different this time around?
It was more the same?
Oh yeah, it was different
My head was on a whole different
Like a whole different mindset
You know what I mean?
My head was more like
I'm gonna take care of myself
I'm not going
no drugs
and I'm like that
and I didn't
So that was
A healthier three years?
Yeah
Okay
I spent my time
Working out
Doing the whole shit
Okay
Yeah
And so
During all this
Are you thinking
About rapping
Or is
Shit nah
I'm gonna be honest
With you
Nah
I didn't
I probably did
Like a little
freestyle
I recorded it
But that was like
The extent of it
I ain't really
I ain't really
Rapp like that
Until I went
Inside the pen
You feel me
And then I was in the hole
And
And Dota, that's when I started rapping.
Because I started being cool with the homies and shit like that.
So I started spinning my shit and they f***ing my shit.
And so then you started just recording videos and shit when you got out?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I decided to just handle my shit, my probation shit,
and then decided to help my music.
For sure.
Yeah.
And so the probation officer was cool with you making music, though?
They didn't like take one look at it and be like, oh shit, this is a bad idea.
this guy's promoting violence in his music there's a lot of
a lot of edgy content going on here now yeah
good positive vibes
I don't really get that from your music necessarily
positive vibes is that like I have to pay closer attention
to pick out the positive message yes sir I got
I was I was real angry for a long time but
real angry and that was my way of kind of like
you know shaking it off of me
and you know but that's what we were living so
you know that is what it is okay so my shit i got good i got a little i got songs for everybody
uh-huh yeah so you try to cover all your bases and hit you know make music for the the moms yeah
i mean i try to do a lot of like little love shit do all the good shit like that you know what's the
best grave digger song to play at a kinsenera at a kinsenna emotion okay that'd be the least
likely to get people offended?
Yeah.
Okay.
I'd never been on Kintanera.
I've always heard about it.
Yeah.
Motion will be cool.
Shit.
Slow down.
No.
Summer time.
You know, I'm about to drop a little sum too on Monday.
Okay.
What's the date on Monday?
I can tell you.
Monday is the 22nd.
22nd, yeah.
We drop it on the 22nd album.
Love it or Hate it.
And I got good little feature music for everybody.
Just for you.
Who's featured on it?
Shit, I got a little slug.
Shout out to The Little Slug.
I got the homie mob nine from Atlanta.
I got a couple underground artists from the Bay Area.
You know, my nigga, Lil Jr. from Modesto.
I got Yogi from Bay Recond.
I think that's it.
So you ever think about moving down here?
Yeah, I always thought about it.
Yeah, hell yeah.
What's keeping you from making the move?
Shit, I don't know my kids.
My kids are over there.
So it's going to be hard for me to maneuver, you know?
Like, I got to go every weekend over here.
Like, I'd rather just stay where my kids are at.
Yeah, it's a long drive.
Five hours, six hours every day.
Yeah.
Type shit, no.
Right, no, definitely.
Mm-hmm.
Okay, so this is a fucked up sounding story, but is it true that somebody tried to kidnap your daughter in retaliation for the guy that you shot?
Yeah.
How did that happen?
Shit, well, shit, I was in the county while fighting my case about the shit that was going on.
And, you know, I had my baby mama and her mom pull up to my visit, and it was crying like crazy,
talking about they tried to take my daughter and shit.
Just on the street or?
Yeah, I ain't trying to say all too much, but yeah, type shit.
Okay, and somehow this was thwarted.
It didn't happen?
You said what?
It didn't happen?
Like, somehow they were able to resist this?
Yeah, no, well, my daughter's mom, seen it.
I guess she was, when she was driving at,
she peeped like the whole shit that was going on that right then and there.
And she started beeping and, like, making a big scandal.
And I guess the dude just ended up cutting.
What the fuck?
Yeah, man
What was it like hearing that while you were locked up?
That shit was terrible
Yeah, I can't even imagine
I can't do shit
What was I supposed to do, you know what I mean?
I have no idea
That shit was fucked up
That's got to make it
Because at first I thought it was bullshit
And then I just
You know, we do
Investigation art, you know
That's a man, you know
Try to see what's going on
If it's real or not
But yeah
I guess, you know
Right
Like you'd rather they
Try to do something to you
Than do it to your fucking kid
Yeah, of course
Yeah
Man, take that shit on me.
Right.
Take that shit out on me.
Like, what's up?
That make you think differently about how you handle some of these situations,
just knowing that somebody could try to get revenge on an innocent person?
Oh, shit.
I'm alive, so it shouldn't be a reason why they would try to do that.
Right.
You know, if I'm in jail, then it would be kind of a little bit different, you know?
Niggas gonna get mad and try to do all that weird shit.
But in reality, I'm alive.
Like, I'm a problem.
You know what I'm right here.
Right.
You know what I'm talking about?
It's just crazy, man.
That's real shit, though.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I feel like that's the kind of thing
that it might make me just really want to take a step back
from that whole lifestyle,
if anybody ever tried to do something like that.
I guess that's not an option at a certain point as well, right?
No, we don't do, we don't backped on nothing.
Yeah.
Yeah, we ain't backped on.
Yeah, damn.
Okay, so I did want to acknowledge
that the way this interview actually happened
was because we were doing a music
live stream and somebody donated
for us to check out a music video
dissing you by a rapper that you don't get along with
named Rich Rabbit.
I don't know who that is.
And so he had a whole dissing a song about you
and I think I probably said a bunch of times
while we're watching it like, who the fuck is a gravedigger.
He's dissing this dude, grave digger.
I don't even know who grave diggers.
The next day I wake up to a bunch of texts from you
informed me that you wanted to come on
and state your piece.
What's the root of the disagreement with him?
I don't know.
about all that, but you wanted to know who grave digger was, right?
Yeah.
Well, this is who I am, you feel me?
Right.
Yeah.
But how'd you end up beefing with a black South Sider from down here?
I don't even know that, nigga.
I don't know who you're talking about.
He just chose to start making songs about you or what?
I don't even, I never even seen no video, brother.
Really?
No.
I ain't even see that.
You didn't see us watching the video talking about you during you?
I just heard, who's grave digger?
and I initiated that
Like, oh
I'm going to get your number
Okay
And I decided to hit you up
You say you want to hear who Grave Digger was
So I'm showing you
Right, yeah
Hell yeah
No, definitely
But besides all that, I don't know
What the fuck that is
Right
You feel me?
Okay
Anybody else, you got issues
I should know about down here?
Nah, I f*** with everybody
Okay
I fuck with all the thugs
For sure
Yeah, shout out to both
Bozo, Chito, all them.
Shout out Bozo.
You seen you just signed OTR?
Yeah, I seen that.
That's interesting.
Congratulations.
He's going up in this world.
Yeah.
Shout out to Bozo, my little homicino, all of them.
Okay.
Yes, sir.
You got a lefty gameplay feature on the way?
Nah, but I'll talk to the man.
Okay.
For sure, talk to the man.
How is that?
He's cool.
He's good.
He's good people.
Right.
Hell yeah.
Do you guys, you think you would work on music together at some point or no?
If it happens, no, I'm never going to block a blessing.
You know what I mean?
For sure.
I respect the man, you know, support the whole, you know, the movement.
Right.
The blue team movement.
Definitely.
Yes, sir.
You see that, like, Thizzler had their big freestyle thing?
Yeah, I didn't even see it yet.
Well, he lefties on it and lazy boys on it.
A lady boy.
Okay.
So this was very controversial.
Girl.
See, okay, Thizzler's trying to DM me saying that we should post it.
saying we got we got lazy boy and lefty on the same
freestyle cipher i'm like no you don't like they're in the same
video but you obviously filmed it separately i can tell even the background and the
videos was different the dudes on the back it ain't even i'm like i know lefty and lefty not
tone up for that if he did we already would all heard about it yeah and so yeah i guess
it's something that they got them on the same freestyle i guess that's something that's cool
it's not them being in the same room that would be a different conversation yeah no you know him
who lazy boy
Not hell not
You never ran into him
He's in the house
Oh really?
Potato bug
Potato bug
It's a potato couch bug
Yeah
Couch potato you're trying to
Yeah yeah
Oh
Potato bug
It's all right
Same shit
Um
Yeah
No we don't know them biggest
But you don't
Any of the Nortanos
That we've had on this podcast
Over the last year
Shit
I seen I seen bro
I seen bro you
That uh
bands brine
What's his name?
Bands.
From the Rose.
No, no, the other dude.
Oh, the one from Stockton.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He lost somebody, huh?
A little slug punched on him.
A couple days ago.
Really?
A week's ago.
He's got a show coming up in L.A.
They said.
Supposedly.
Right.
I mean, I don't know.
You think it's going to happen?
I wouldn't really be the guy to ask.
Why not?
You ask me all type of questions?
Personally, well, I just don't know.
I just don't know.
how much people would care,
like if they would actually care enough
to do something to make it not happen.
Not really my area of expertise,
but, you know,
definitely people are going to talk about it on podcasts.
How are they going to show up?
I don't know.
Power to the man.
Right.
You pay attention to all that Stockton shit?
Kind of?
I guess.
I mean, I listen to the music.
Right.
I fuck with everybody shit.
Okay.
I'm stuck then.
But you watch that interview?
Yeah.
Then you're definitely tapped in.
Yeah.
because realistically you probably wouldn't watch that unless you're at least a little bit concerned with the politics out there but hey that full bands he got like three songs and they're all hard hard as f*** and he's already signed to a label that's great which to me is kind of crazy that kind of tells me like oh shit so you can just come out dissing people and the labels will just be lining up to give you a bag what's dope yeah he did a quick run
yeah but his music is actually pretty good that's that new shit tip tone or whatever I would do that little dance he does in the video
probably
I'll probably ruin it for him
He probably not gonna want to do it himself anymore
After I did that
Do it and do it
Nah
I gotta work on it more
You gotta do the little tito
Yeah
That's probably dissing some dead person
Anyway
I don't know if I want to do that
You should try it
I need to do some more research
Um
Okay
Um
Yeah shit
Um
Anything else that we need to know about
What else you got going on
What's popping?
Shit I just
shot a video this morning with YBE
Okay. I'm gonna be dropping that soon.
I got a song with Brick Wolf Pack.
You feel me? Besides
that, shit, Grave Digger got a lot of shit
coming. A lot of shit coming. I got merch.
Big merch, Airheads, collab.
Oh, word? Hell yeah. We got a little sweater for you, too.
Don't work. Oh, sweet. Appreciate it.
So it's Grave Digger?
Yeah, Grave Digger. So is it kind of like weird and offensive
if people say Grave Digger?
I mean, I wouldn't, I can't take a offense.
from you. Okay. You didn't know.
But does it sound weird to you?
Yeah, it sounds kind of weird. You know, grape digger.
Throw the hard R on it. Sound like a
Karen. Like a hard Karen.
Yeah. It's very like clansman.
Yeah. So when you said that, Grape Digger, I was like, damn,
this motherfucker about to lynch me.
God damn it, Adam. Yeah.
Yeah, with that 3,300, though, yeah.
I got a lot of shit going. What's 3,300?
Black shit. Black shit.
block you're from?
Black shit, yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Definitely.
Yes, sir.
So what's the future look like in terms of you dropping music and everything?
You got some new shit on the way that we need to know about it?
Yeah, so on the 22nd I'm dropping love it or hate it.
You know what I mean?
I might have a cool, cool album.
You know, I'm going to be dropping a video every other week, every week type of shit.
I got a lot of content stacked up.
You know what I mean?
For sure.
Yeah.
What interview did you enjoy more, your indicted TV interview or your food community interview?
Shit, indicted.
That was the better one?
Yeah.
You think she's more gangster than Icon?
Yeah.
I shout out to Ikeyeard, man.
That's my dog, man.
I was just with him.
Like, shit, a couple hours ago.
Yeah.
Yeah, I was just with him right now.
Oh, right?
Yeah.
I did a little shack of mic drop.
There you go.
Yeah.
So.
I got to give him a hard time because he abandoned the food community.
Yeah.
gone road. He's trying to start his own thing.
Yeah, let the man.
Let him do his thing. Let him do his thing. You did, right?
I mean, honestly, I don't even know who
the food community is owned by or anything,
so it's hard for me to be like, oh, you abandon them.
I probably met him. He abandoned himself, right?
Well, he abandoned it.
Like, he just, like, you know, decided he wanted to do his own thing.
Because he was pissed about getting calls about the Instagram page.
About the bullshit they be posting. They'd be posting straight
bullshit. They post all the negative shit of me.
They don't post like the, the, the, the, the,
accomplishments all the shit that I do
goddamn shit I got cool
features on my shit
but they want to post
oh okay
Lego blockhead
all that you seen that weird that shit
they drew some some some
some sucker just drew a little something of me
oh really you seen that shit
that's funny because lefty was getting pissed off about the drawings of him
that shit don't bother me but it's just like damn
why you're gonna repost that
that shit corny right
that shit corny as fuck yeah but that
interview clip where lefties like seems like he's genuinely angry about the drawings of him that's
it was funny as fuck hell yeah hey i was gonna tell you hey they've done drawings of me just like that too
like the exact same shit you were saying i'm you so you're saying i'm disrespectful because i'm
because i'd be dissing over well i feel like it's more the fact that you put a dead op on a shirt
who died like a long as time ago that that was just kind of unique to me do you think i did that as a
cloud thing yes you think so probably yes i mean i'm sure you genuinely hate him and i'll everybody
else who reps that gang or whatever.
I want to see how.
How do you see that as cloud chasing?
I mean, if I made a shirt,
like what other reason is there to make a shirt?
Shit, talking shit.
Yeah.
It's called trolling.
Right.
That's not...
Trolling is the language of cloud chasing.
Trolling is just talking shit.
Right.
It's me just getting under your skin.
Shit, I didn't even pay nobody to for promo for it,
nothing.
You get what I'm saying?
Right.
I wasn't expecting nothing.
none of you from besides people
behind my shirt. I can't hate on it
because ultimately when it comes to the gang shit
if you don't like somebody you don't like them
it is what it is. But it is kind of
fascinating because all right
Chicago got like one of the most bloodthirsty
gang wars that anybody know. But you're interested in that
shit. I am but
if I saw Chief Kee
falking a fucking shirt with Tuka on it
yeah I would be like holy fuck this dude is crazy
as he doesn't do that because
that would be like kind of another
level of pushing shit. So I'm a
Superhero then. No, I'm saying you're just probably like I'm a superhero because obviously you're willing to take it a little bit further than a lot of people
Where am I staying though? Where am I staying though? I don't know you tell me up north right right? Right
Where come on Adam you don't want to say it. You don't want to say it
I stay up north so I must be you're saying yack
But I just soft stop it stop it soft hard soft. I'm not
I'm gonna shit you should go go you want to
Lovely.
We all go through together?
Hell no, I'm going on with Big Ton.
We on.
I think Big Tong will get mad at this shit right here.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm just trying to get answers.
He didn't really say much about it,
so I got to go to the messy dude to ask him what's going on with the shirt.
I like in Icon's title, it just says the shirt.
Shit, I'll be going to niggas.
You're one of them?
Yeah.
I'm not, I mean, I'll be trolling.
I get.
Shit, I got a big video.
Huh?
You shoot videos in the hop hoods?
All the time.
Really?
Yeah.
You upset with bands for filming the video in Lefty's neighborhood?
Man.
The other bands.
