No jumper, the coolest podcast in the world.
And today, me and T.Rail got a legendary, iconic West Coast legend, the one and only Spice One.
I like how you start that off, bang.
You like that?
I love that.
No, we do it again.
Nah, go ahead.
Get me and get his bars off, man.
I love that.
Hey, that's how you set the shit off, though.
Right, right, right.
Let these, you know, especially if they don't, you know what I'm saying.
You got to lace these things, you know what I'm saying?
Right.
That's right.
That's right. So what's up with you, Big Dog? How are you doing?
I'm good, man. I just, you know, working on. I got two albums I'm working on.
You know, my flow in the booth in the studio on the mic, being sick. You know, I rarely, I don't really freestyle like that.
Sometimes I come off the top of head if I'm feeling it or whatever. But shit, man, I ain't been writing nothing down, my nigga. I just been, you know, turn the motherfucking beat on, turn the,
push the guy, is the mic hot?
You know, that's my first question and shit.
I sit down five minutes.
I hear the track, niggas the mic,
is the mic on, turn that shit on, let's go.
That's right.
So we got two albums we're working on right now.
We got Platinum OG2, and we got the Night Rider album.
So, shit, look forward, man.
What about the wheat string you got coming out?
Oh, yeah, we got a weed string coming out called Goon Kush.
You know, it's just for, you know, it's just for real niggas.
You know, when niggas get to acting crazy and shit, you know,
It's like some 30% shit, you know what I'm saying?
So when the niggas get the acting crazy,
you want to get down or whatever, you know,
you smoke a little bit of goon because you'd be like,
man, fuck this nigga.
Right.
There's some Addero in that motherfucker or something?
No, you know, it's just some 1A7 proof magic.
Right.
You see a nigga threw up in there, you know what I'm saying?
A whole lot of, you know, it's, it's, um,
I got the platinum OG strand,
and it's actually platinum OG,
but it's my version of platinum OG.
So we got the album.
platinum O G2 coming out with the weed strand coming out, the platinum OG shit.
And, you know, we moving, man.
You know what I'm saying?
This is Thug World.
You see my logo.
You know what I'm saying?
Right here with the World Mean mugging you with the bandana on and shit.
This niggas name was Grimy.
So if y'all niggas see Grimy, if you don't see Grimy on any of the product,
then it's not my shit.
You know what I'm saying?
So look for Thug World Music Group.
You know, we've been in motion for about for a minute.
You know what I'm saying?
And it's been a struggle.
That's what's up.
That's what's up.
Man.
You got a, um, you, you're a real OG out here, real,
and you have real timeless records, you feel me, you know what I'm saying,
I have five on it, you know what I'm saying?
Welcome to the ghetto 187.
Um, you feel me like, but do you feel like the younger generation out here,
you know what I'm saying, respects that?
Because, you know, academics just made a, um, comment and said,
you know, all the older rappers and, you know, kind of,
dusty, maybe broke.
It's like, you know, I can see that, you know, at the same time,
niggas is getting money, but they can't stay alive either.
You know what I'm saying?
So, I mean, you know, I've been a gangster rapper, nigga, gangster rapper for 30
motherfucking years.
Yeah.
Look at me, nigga.
I don't look like I'm falling off, nigga.
You got me fucked up, nigga.
The fuck you talk about, nigga.
I make, I get money.
I'm making a $2,500.
50,000, nigga.
You know what I'm saying?
I don't keep, I don't be splurging and flashing all my money like that because I'm a gangster,
nigga.
We don't move like that.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
Y'all niggas move like that.
All flashing and shit and go get your motherfucking head blown the fuck off, nigga.
We don't move like that.
We know how to move.
That's why I've been a gangster rapper for 30 motherfucking years.
You know what I'm saying?
So DJ academics, nigga, you're not even.
And I, this damn near one of the first times I even heard your motherfucking name.
I don't even listen to that shit
You know what I'm saying
I don't even listen to nobody's shit
I listen to my shit because I want to remember the words
Right
So in case I got to perform
And light a nigga shit up somewhere
I don't listen to nobody else shit
Because I don't want to end up sounding like somebody subliminally
You know what I'm saying?
Right
But the rest of these motherfuckers out here
Disrespecting us is oh geez
Say that shit to my face without a pistol nigga
You know what I'm saying
And the rest of these
You know you niggas out here
And his guns out here
It's guns out here.
It's two pounds of pressure.
You blow a nigga head off.
But there's no guns up in there, up in the behind them bars, nigga.
And all of that bullshit you're doing out here in these streets,
you're going to have to answer for that shit when you go up in there.
Nick, the game is going to check your ass.
I ain't got to say nothing and none of you, motherfuckers.
The game itself will check you.
You know, disrespect the game, nigga.
It'll disrespect you back.
You'll be going against the grain.
You'll learn your motherfucking lesson sooner or later.
You know what I'm saying?
A few motherfuckers have, but it just seems like some of y'all motherfuckers
don't get the goddamn message.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, y'all don't get the fucking message, nigga.
I've been jacked before.
You know what I'm saying?
I've been shot at before.
I've been shot before, nigga.
Ain't nobody excluded away from this shit.
Now, speak on that, though, Spice,
because I know you got shot in your car sitting in front of your parents' house.
Is that correct?
Yeah.
So speak on that.
Break that down.
Niggas just out there jacking.
You know what I'm saying?
I was a jacker.
You know what I'm saying?
Nicks get out there jacking and get down and do their thing and shit.
You know, I couldn't even take it personally because I used to,
I used to get down like that.
So, you know, it was just some random shit.
I didn't have no, I didn't have no beef with nobody
or no shit like that.
You know what I'm saying?
But just like you niggas need to do it,
I don't be in Hayward like that no more.
I don't be in a town like that no more
because it's motherfuckers.
I want to see their head over there
and I want to see their body over there.
That's why I'm not in a town like that no more.
I don't fuck with some of you niggas
because I don't want to, I want to, I get one life
as far as I know.
If you know somebody who died and came back to life
and told you they had another life,
then fine.
them tell me, but I got one motherfucking life and I get to live it as Spice One,
nigga. And I got a, and I'm going to let you fuck that up. You're a bitch-ass nigga.
Right. I ain't ain't working. I'm going to let you be the fucking reason. Fuck no, nigga.
None of you niggas is the motherfucking reason. I'm not going to let none of you niggas ever
be the reason. I can't go back to Japan and do a show and pack the motherfucking house.
As Spice 1, nigga. I get paid to go to Japan and do shows. I don't got to pay my way
out there. A motherfucker's blood are come and see me out there. That's what I do. I go to Germany.
I go to Japan, I go to Australia, I go to different countries.
I get to do that shit in my lifetime, nigga, and I'm not going to let not one of you
bitch-ass niggas be the reason that it's not, it don't happen.
Fuck you, niggas.
That's right.
Going about your motherfucking business.
I'm gonna keep getting mine whether you want me to or not.
And if you've got a problem with anything I'm ever saying up here, nigger, you can always
come in my motherfucking face and say it because you won't, you won't last too long.
But as far as, is DJ academics with that shit, my nigger, you know what I'm saying?
Hey, y'all motherfuckers, you niggas wouldn't even know what good weed was if we didn't show it to you, motherfucker.
You wouldn't even know what the chronic was, nigga.
Y'all wouldn't even know how to roll blunts in this motherfucker.
But you go sit here and talk shit about it.
Oh, geez.
You what niggas wouldn't even know what weed, what good weed was?
You motherfuckers wouldn't even know what a six-four was hitting switches.
Y'all wouldn't know what none of that shit was.
Y'all wouldn't know what high-powered engines and all.
Y'all niggas wouldn't even be up on none of that shit if we didn't show you motherfuckers.
We showed all you niggas, all that shit.
And then for you to have a nerve to talk shit
because we ain't got as much money as you got,
nigger, suck a dick, nigga.
That's probably what you niggins is doing out here
any motherfucking way, nigga, with that bullshit.
We are gangsters, nigga.
We move different.
You know, and he's a younger one,
he's in the younger generation,
and then you got the older generation.
What I like about you,
you know, like he was just saying before we got here,
you were one of the only niggas.
Well, matter of fact, you're the only nigga
I know that no Tupac, you feel
me? And I am a Tupac lover.
So if a nigger say something, I'm really ready
to get down with you. I mean, I really
you know, but, you know, still,
like, damn, I really didn't know Pock, but I'd be really
mad. So, you know, I spoke to
Jim Malone about his song. I'm like,
damn, cut. And then, you know,
and then you have, you know, like,
people like whack that would just be going ham
on my nigger. You know what I'm saying? So, like,
how you feel like you feel like? And, like,
and you seeing all these remarks?
It's like whatever a motherfucker got to say about Tupac, you know what I'm saying, say that
shit to me because I was with the nigger, you know what I'm saying?
And if you think he was doing all of this bullshit and this gay shit or all, whatever
the fuck you're trying to say, nigger.
And the motherfucker tried to talk about he went to a gay club with Queen Latifah.
That was Peanuts.
We all went to peanuts.
I sit in front of peanuts and look at all the lesbians and shit.
Hey, baby, you know what I'm saying?
You think you want to change over this time?
You might want, you know, you might want some dick the night and stuff.
You know, of course I'm going to sit in front of peanuts.
penis and pop it. Hell yeah. You know what I'm saying? I ain't going to complain.
But Spice, how you feel, though, Spice about, you know, it being over 20 years later and
people are starting to, like, put a lot of dirt on Pock's name? You know what I'm saying?
It's, you know, it was inevitable, you know. Pock even said the shit, you know, I'm riding
in the car with the nigg, and he's like, ain't nobody going to be able to tell him he, in his own
words, why we riding in the car, and there ain't nobody going to be able to compare the best
rapper in the world in this motherfucker unless they compare him to me while we riding and look look what's
happening you can't compare every every nigga that come out oh he ain't fucking with tupac that's because
he's not the nigger did all of that shit before he was 25 man if you're over 25 and you're trying
to compare yourself to tupac you're lost already nigga how was the energy being around pock
his energy bro the same energy y'all getting right now for me you know some thug shit nigga
It was some gangster shit
It was some shit
That's what it is
You know what I'm saying
We keep riding
We are here for
We're gonna ride for what's right
We know what's wrong
You know what I'm saying
We gonna do right
Just because motherfuckers
Expect for us to do wrong
But don't get us twisted
Right
You know what I'm saying
This is real thug life shit
And ain't no gimmick
Ain't no bullshit
You know what I'm saying
We stay riding
I'm OG in this motherfucker
And I'm still riding
You know what I'm saying
So I mean
All of youngsters
watching right
watching right now
nigga you want to
you want to keep your
motherfucking
your thug mentality
up because that's what's
keeping you strong
you know you stay smart
and you keep
you keep your motherfucking
antennas up out here
and the way the homie
just got knocked down
up at that
at their Roskos
and shit man
motherfuckers y'all
niggas keep your antennas
up out here man
you know what I'm saying
you know you stay aware
man you know what I'm saying
don't don't think that
for any second
just because of where you at
a motherfucker can't happen
And nigger run up and hear me on me on up in here on me right now.
Nick, he'll have some motherfucking problems.
Nick, I don't get a fuck if he got heat or not, nigga, it's going to be where it is.
But you know, back then, you know, gangster rap, nigga took a toll on the motherfucking music industry.
And it was just predominantly that.
And you niggas was in that shit, like centered in that shit.
So tell these young niggas how you move through that.
Because I know in those times it was even worse.
Because they're trying to say these times are worse.
But I'm like, nah, those times were even worse.
So how did you niggas moved back then?
Well, you couldn't move if you really wasn't no G, you know what I'm saying?
You couldn't even move.
You would get, you would get some shit smacked out of it.
You know what I'm saying?
Walk around acting like you were gangster, and you really not.
You know what I'm saying?
We slapped the shit out of a nigga, a knock a nigga down or something.
You know what I'm saying?
But these nigs get to walk around there claiming like they gangsters
and they did this and did that name, did a motherfucking thing.
They just got a pistol on them and barely know how to use the motherfucker.
You know what I'm saying?
And then when they dropped the pistol, they don't know how to get down without it.
You know what I'm saying?
So, I mean, we was a whole different breed, you know what I'm saying?
We pushed the motherfuckers, niggie.
You do your push-ups, nigga?
You do them push-ups, nigga.
You're doing push-ups, you know, last time you jogged to do some sit-ups and some old shit,
nigga, you know, what you're working with as far as how you get down?
Do you know how your motherfucking hand?
How's your hands?
You know what I'm saying?
Have you been sparring lately?
You know what I'm saying?
I did.
I spar every day.
I took a few different classes,
fucked around and shit,
you know,
motherfucking tried to get with me.
This nigga on the block,
you know,
drinking and smoking and shit,
and he wanted to get down and shit.
And I'm like,
nigga, you don't want to get down,
nigga, you know what I'm saying?
Like, you really don't want this, you know what I'm saying?
Is it any rappers, y'all niggas had the slap back then
that we know of?
Man,
Let me know.
Please, I don't know.
I ain't going to say, you know,
it's been a lot of motherfuckers out here
that needed to be slapped.
You know, but as far as putting hands on a motherfucker,
you know, if they ain't really no threat to me,
I really haven't, you know,
I won't get down unless a niggas are threat to me.
You know, unless he gets in my face
saying some dumb shit,
then I might slap the shit out of him.
But I ain't, you know, ain't nobody ever really said no shit.
Like, I ain't had to.
Like, you know, motherfuckers kind of know, you know what I'm saying?
Like, niggie, y'all know what it is, man.
Let me ask you.
Let me ask you.
Let me ask you, Spice.
How have you been able to stay relevant for 30 plus years in this rap game, bro?
Like, what's the secret formula you've used?
Well, it's a mix between, you know, comedy and gang.
You know what I'm saying?
And this is a real game I'm giving you niggas, so you better suck this shit up.
You know what I'm saying?
It's a mix between comedy and gangster shit.
You know what I'm saying?
You got to amuse your audience and at the same time captivate them.
And, you know, you have to be entertaining.
You can't just say shit, you know, that you did yesterday and go to jail for it.
You know what I'm saying?
You got to say some shit that's going to entertain your audience.
This is music.
You know what I'm saying?
You don't want to go to jail for the shit.
You want to say some shit that's going to entertain your audience.
That's what it's still keeping gangst at the same time.
You know, and so that's what I've been doing over the years.
You know, like the Michael Jackson shit, the up in Sunday, California.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Go ahead and spit that shit, though, Spice.
With the palm trees, me and my G's, right, candy paint up on a whipping, we'd be tripping,
and, you know, we, ha, hitting colors in a benz-blowing in the bino, at the window,
Blah, seen a hater on the corner, run up on you.
He's a goner.
Like, nigger, is you okay?
Nick, is you okay?
He ain't okay, nigga.
Nick, is you okay?
Nick, is you okay?
He ain't okay, nigga.
He's being hit by, he's been hit by, come on.
A street general.
Yeah, nigga.
But you know.
That shit viral.
Yeah, that part.
I'm gonna tell you like this.
Nick, I wrote that, I did, I wrote that shit about 10 years ago.
My flow is completely.
completely different than that. Now I've advanced way amongst that shit. You know what I'm saying?
That's some dope shit. The spit to it is like, rolling up with the scrap and leaving the doors while I'm
Mr. Bossling did I know I got to be smoking up with the foot to the pen of the butter rubber right through the ghetto fall from a rock star but playing with heavy metal.
Watch a nigga cop cars and play with hell of the narrow hit cones on cop cars. No pause cause cause of my brother got to rob my whip.
Gas break dip hit a few corners of black on black six count my chips smoking a sticky.
But when it was ten and so can't nobody else see it don't stop living in a hustler's dream.
Caddy Escalay same color as cream. I got to
a thing that bang if you want the bling.
I peep the head is creeping through my pinky ring.
I live my life as a ride a hitting corner right after corner
where it's how does a song a ride in in California
with the top damn floating you see me in the convertible
roll a whip forward and back with it even vertical.
Up in Sunday California with the palm trees, me and my jies ride.
You know, so the spit to that is sick, you know what I'm saying?
So, you know, and we got shit like I got flows.
Like breath smelling like a hemp tree.
Bentley with the kid is entry.
Money like him Oprah hit him with the scope
Instead of motherfucker Winfrey
Yeah he was talking about
I mean you know we got different flows
To even nowadays
You know what I'm saying
Now how
Go ahead
Okay
How did the studio session come about
For dusted and disgusting
Break that down Spice
Let me hear that story dog
Forty was like
You know
He had some to me
He you know
He was hot at the time
And everybody was fucking with him
Fucking with 40
And he like
You know
He called niggas up
He wanted to do a song
and I got up there and shit.
And I heard this verse and I was like, oh shit, okay, I got something for it.
And I come behind, and niggas want to hit them gas with shit on the cell phone,
get real, pulling our bills, flunk in the material shit.
That's when I get the killing shit.
I started spitting that.
And he was like, you know, 40, like, oh, shit, okay.
And then, you know, everybody came to the studio.
You know what I'm saying?
I remember Richie, Rich was there.
You know what I think he's seeing me outside because I think he had fell or something
because he was drunk or some shit.
And I was drunk and I was standing outside the studio.
And I was doing a, I was spinning, I was spinning around hella fast
trying to make myself throw up and shit.
I remember that because I was, what the fuck?
I was, because I felt like I needed to throw up, you know what I'm saying?
So I was like in front of the studio like this is like spinning around and shit trying to make
myself early.
And he was looking like, you know, what the fuck?
but he just walked in.
And then he fell and I looked at it.
I was like, oh shit, everybody's drunk.
We had fun at that night, though.
He was kicking it.
You know what I'm saying?
We all kicked it and did the song and shit.
And, you know, I still singing in my shows today.
So, yeah, that's my shit.
Now, let me see.
Oh, go ahead.
Go ahead.
Back to him saying, you know, how you stay relevant.
I mean, because a lot of the, a lot of back then,
a lot of artists was getting fucked over.
And, you know, I heard you say in one interview was like,
man, I sold millions of ready.
records, gold, platinum. I was in a record deal.
I came out of that shit and I had $30,000.
You know what I'm saying? Like, how the fuck do you get over that?
You know what I'm saying? Like, how did you get over that hump?
Because, you know, learning the game.
Man, it was, man, I, I went through a lot, you know.
Like you see, I got shot. You know, I was in a wheelchair for a minute.
I was homeless for a minute.
I was sleeping in my car with all my plaques, you know, I slept in the car on Crenshaw Boulevard
with all my platinum and gold plaques in that motherfucker, you know what I'm saying?
The struggle was real, you know what I'm saying, through the whole time.
I never went to go and apply for a job, you know, I never went and applied for no unemployment,
no shit.
I used my motherfucking hustle to keep me alive, you know what I'm saying?
I hustled the game.
If you got a trade, which is my voice and when I spit, you know, my lyrics and my poetry,
if that works for me every time.
You know, every time I get in any type of sham or fucked up, my trade always works for me.
Like, it always gets me up out of some shit.
So I hustle my flows, the rap game.
I've been hustling for years.
When I started, I never put a dime into it.
All I put into it was my flow and my spit.
You know, I never knew about the business side of it
because I never had to put money into it.
All I did was spending motherfuckers would pay me to do it.
I'm a real rap artist.
You know what I'm saying?
Rap artist.
Like, you know, I'm going to amaze you.
I'm going to entertain you.
Whatever I, when I spit some shit, you're going to be entertained.
You're going to love this shit.
It's like ketchup.
But you got a.
used that shit to stay alive.
If that's what you do and you do it
the best and you do it really well and that's what
you use to stay alive in this game.
You know,
man, it was years. I got off Jive Records
in like 99
and didn't know nothing about the industry,
nothing about the music business
at all. I didn't know nothing about the business
at all. I don't even know what a distribution
deal was. I didn't know what anything was.
All I knew was pay me in our rap.
You know what I'm saying? So I had to figure out
everything, man. You know,
how to run a record label and how to, you know, the lawyers, you've got to pay your lawyers
and all of the different ways you get paid off one song or get your, your BMI and your ASCAF
and your sound exchange. And I had to learn and figure out all of that shit. You know, I got a few
agents that I deal with and they tell me I got checks coming from places I ain't never even
fucking thought of or nobody's ever told me about, you know what I'm saying? So you get paid off
one song like 10 different motherfucking ways if you know how to get your money you know what
they say though spice about your first deal being your worst deal yeah yeah yeah my first deal was
terrible um um well well i don't i can't say no my first deal was with was with two short and
and we the dangerous crew and then my second deal was with triad records it was the independent label
and then my third deal was with with jive uh for uh major but um
The first two deals, you know, they kind of, they count, but they really don't count.
Like, the first major deal was a disaster.
You know, the contract was pushed for them to solely make all the money
and for me to just get paid off of the advance that I got from to do to work on the album.
And when I brought them E40 in, what, 90 something.
So you got E40 sign.
brought E 40 up there to Jive Records.
Oh, wow.
I told my manager to go get 40 that deal up there, up at Jive Records.
You know what I'm saying?
They got a deal for, you know, for a nice amount of yaper,
and then I didn't hear from anybody.
You know what I'm saying?
Next thing, you know, I started talking, you know,
I wanted to renegotiate my deal,
and nobody was answering the phone.
So I run into, you know,
I trip out, I got in my car and I drive to,
I drive out here to Los Angeles
and I parked on
Sunset Boulevard and I started walking down the street
because I'm pissed off. Nobody answering the phone.
I need my money for my recording.
I got bills and shit to pay.
You know what I'm saying? I'm trying to get 30 grand.
I'm thinking that's a lot of money back then
and I'm walking and shit and iced tea pull up on me.
This is some real shit.
You know, Ice tea pull up on me.
While I'm walking down the Sunset Boulevard
and he's like, you know, you know,
Spice was happening then, you know.
he had like a bins or some shit some old fly shit you know what I'm saying he's like yeah man
and I'm like man I tell him they know they're not calling me back you know what I'm saying
I don't know what's going on I brought E 40 up there and all of this shit you know shit is just
fucked up right now they're not they're not fucking with me you know what I'm saying
and he's like man he's like man check this out man you can go on up to I got my uh my house
you know my my house up there and he's man you go up there and you record your album
and your homie, he and G up there.
Even Eid little brother, he and G up there.
He going to record you up there, man.
Just get your music and everything going up there and record.
So I said, okay, you know, how can my car?
I drive up to Ice House and shit, and I go up there
and I record the whole Balsolini album.
You know what I'm saying?
With he and G, Evil E's little brother and shit,
and we record the whole Barce House.
At Ice House.
This nigga got the motherfucking.
The shit was dope as fuck.
He had the, he had the sharks in the shit floating around the motherfucker.
and shit.
Like,
the shit was dope,
my name.
I'm like,
damn,
you got sharks
in the fish tanks?
Still by this time,
E40 still ain't called you?
Nah,
nobody fucking hit me back.
You know what I'm saying?
Was you upset with E40
for not hitting you?
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
Are you guys still in contact
till this day?
We talk from now and then.
Okay.
You know what I'm saying?
But, you know,
um,
it was still fucked up like,
hey,
40.
I'd see what you did,
nigga.
I was broke.
Yeah.
You ain't called me,
nigga.
Nobody fucking hit me and said shit.
Yeah.
You know,
I get you know he maybe he was wondering why I fired my manager or whatever you know what I'm
saying and I'm like you know the motherfucker stole some money so I told me to get the fuck on you know
know I had a big guy told me you got to go you know what I'm saying I don't know what they
fuck this money came where his money came up missing from all I knew is uh is uh later on I talk to um
Roger Troutman rest in peace and I'm sitting up and he like you know I just you know he
cool I just fired everybody in my whole camp and shit it's what Roger tell me
Roger Troutman he's like I just fired everybody in my whole camp and I'm
And you know what I said?
This nigga, so did I.
I just got rid of every goddamn body
because money came up missing.
I can't fuck with nobody, you know what I'm saying?
So we sitting up there looking at each other like,
damn, well, fuck it, let's just record, you know.
Do you think the record game is like,
because back then, you, you, you know,
you say you're a gangster rapper.
Like, niggas, the shit y'all was saying,
these niggas is saying now,
but they're getting RICO charges.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, how you feel about that?
Because you still want to keep a gangster.
Like, how gangster do you?
still want to keep it after these motherfuckers is trying to use your lyrics in court,
nigga.
Yeah, that's what that's what's fucked up about it because, you know, it's an art.
You know, you can't just get up there and you can, you know, you can't say what you did
last night, but you can't, you got to throw some, some, some spikes into it, motherfucker.
You can't just tell them exactly what the fuck happened.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
Say it with somebody else that did it that, that you don't even know.
Make up a name of a motherfucker or something.
Don't say you did it, motherfucker.
Right.
Everybody in the streets know what you talk about,
but you got to change the name to protect the guilty in this motherfucker.
You can't just get up there, you know, and say what you did and all that shit.
You got to say, make up a name.
That nigga did it.
It's just an imaginary person.
John Doe.
John Doe did this last night.
All right.
What's me?
You know what I'm saying?
You got to disguise that shit, man.
You can't just, it's an art.
It's art.
Definitely.
So you can't just tell everything to fucking dead.
Now, let me ask you, right?
spice
how the fuck
did you come up
with your name spice one because
when I think of spice one
right I think of the
number one spice the number one
ingredient right
and without that ingredient
yeah
your shit come out fucked up
you see what I'm saying
so who or how
did you come up with the name spice one
I gotta know this you narrowed it down
but yeah at the same time
you know it was it was this
This pimp in my neighborhood, he used to let me drive his car and his name was Spicy Mike.
And you know, he used to let me drive his car all the time.
Shit, and I was like 14.
He used to be like, yeah, man, you know, yeah, yeah, Chico, you know, my nickname Chico.
He was like, yeah, Chico, man, take my car and they had Dating's on and all that shit.
It was clean as fuck.
And he was like, yeah, man, take it to the store and go get whatever you want to go to the
store and shit.
Right, right.
You know, so I named myself after dude, you know what I'm saying?
Shout out to Spicey Mike, you know what I'm saying?
if you're live right now, you're locked up, you know what I'm saying?
But, yeah, that's my OG, you know what I'm saying?
So, I mean, I put the one on the end because I was listening to KRS 1
and I don't want to be the only, the number one spikes, you know, if it was.
So I threw the one on the end.
I was listening to a lot of Keras1 and shit.
That's where a lot of the reggae shit come from,
and like from me listening to the DOC in KRS1.
So you hear me, yeah, my mom, let's be a gangst, blah, blah.
You know, that's where the blow come from, from some reggae shit.
Right.
You know, so that's, you know, if you listen to my music and you hear me say blah, blah, or you hear me speaking, uh, rastafari and shit like that, then I was listening to CARES 1.
And, uh, but in the, it came down to it, it meant sex pistols, endo cash and entertainment.
Oh, it was number one in my life at one time.
So I'm like, okay, you know, we've got some acronyms kicking off.
Um, and in the main reason that the one is on the end is because.
it took me a while to realize
why that one was on the end
because like I said, it's art.
Sometimes life imitates art,
sometimes art imitates life.
One is on the end because
when it came down to it,
it was one motherfucker that had my back,
and that was me.
And the rest of you motherfuckers
listening right now,
when it comes down to it,
it's going to be one motherfucker
that got your back, and that's you.
I want to ask you,
you know, a lot of artists be like,
when they mention California, they always say LA.
These motherfuckers don't never say the bay.
You know what I'm saying?
They don't never bring up you guys' name.
They don't never mention it.
And then when they do mention it,
it's just like E-40 too short.
And it's just like,
how do that make you feel too?
Because now I'll be feeling like,
now that I'm in this media shit,
you know, and doing this shit,
I'm like, oh no.
we're a hole.
We gotta bring this shit as a whole
because they're like, hey, niggas,
so what's your best West Coast artist?
Niggins, blah.
Oh yeah, Kendrick, this is, da-da-da.
But it's, this thing is way up here.
You know, the pioneers of this shit.
It's, they, and, you know,
truth be told, a lot of niggas got
swag from up here.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, a lot of swag came from down here.
Like, so, you know,
y'all niggas is battling with that shit.
So, you know, how did that shit make you feel?
Like, I feel a lot of cats of just sleep.
You know, they, they,
they don't understand.
understand where none of this shit is coming from.
My biggest,
the biggest thing
I've seen was when,
you know, when they asked Biggie,
who was his favorite artist on the West Coast
back in the day and he said, Spice One
and he wanted to, like, trigger God's no heart.
That let me know that we do make noise out this motherfucker.
You know, it's just depends on
if these, if the person that's talking about us
is willing to recognize us as,
as a, you know, as part of this game, you know what I'm saying?
If they choose not to throw us up in there, fine, but we know what we've done to, we know
what we contributed to the industry.
We know what Too Short did.
We know what E40 did.
I know what I did as far as contributing to the game, you know, because before it would,
and you look back at the bay, you got too short.
and then in this order
you got two short
and then came Spice 1
we got digital underground
and MC Hammer
okay they made a lot of fucking noise too
but the main solo artist
to come out on some gangster shit
or pimps shit to get major deals
and it was
too short first
and then you had Spice 1
what about Drew Down
Drew Down?
Drew down
with the Loonies
and you know he made a big impact
on it as far as the Bay Area
and he made a big impact in the hip hop
world too but it's fucked up that he don't
get recognized like that you know everybody
love pimper the ear
and a lot of the songs and they like him
in the movie original gangses with that original
ganges they I mean come on man
he was in original original original ganges
like man get a nigga's props
that's fucking Drew down my nigga you know what I'm saying
so I mean he's in a major motion
picture you know what i'm saying um when you do soundtracks and you're in major motion pictures you're
definitely representing where you came from because you know millions of people are going to see the
shit you know what i'm saying so definitely you know um as far as when it comes to the bay area man
you know we put a lot into this shit um the the minister society soundtrack the tales from the hood
soundtrack you know um i led both of those soundtracks you know me and eight you know what i'm saying
8 when you when you watch the previews you would hear minutes you would hear Trigger Gotts
No Heart and at the end of the movie you would hear you heard a straight up minutes the
the L.A. Bay connection was was right there started right there. That was me and MC8 in 93
you know what I'm saying doing doing songs together fucking around and so you know we always knew
that L.A. recognized us you know what I'm saying but the rest of the world was just
stuck on, oh, that's just LA because they don't know the, you know, the areas and shit.
You know, some people think LA, they don't know if San Francisco is in Los Angeles.
They don't know what the fuck.
Yeah, probably a lot of motherfuckers just don't know.
I mean, because, you know, even when you're from L.A., well, what a motherfucker could be from San Bernardino.
And if you were in New York, niggas, like, where are you from, like, L.A.?
Because niggas just don't fucking know.
Yeah, I'm saying?
Like, you just don't know.
You got to say Frisco or Los Angeles.
Sometimes, or you can say Oakland or something shit like that.
Yeah.
You know, somewhere where it has a major football team or some.
Baseball or some team or something.
But originally, Spice, you're from Texas, right?
I was born in Brian and I moved to Oakland when I was like before I was one years old.
Okay.
And I was in Oakland and then we moved to San Francisco.
Then we moved to Hayward.
But I always went back and forth to Texas because I had all my people out there,
my aunties and uncles and cousins and shit.
Right.
And it found out Scarface was my cousin.
And, you know, I got a lot of family out there.
How the hell did you find out Scarface with your cousin?
Little Jay.
Little Jay was like, you know, it was like Spice.
He said, Spive, come in, man.
Let me talk to you for a minute.
I was like, what's happening, Jay?
He said, man, let me highlight.
He said, who you say, Yo, Yonie?
I said
He said, what's your last name?
I told my last name and everything
He must have went to
research
Because I go to the club later on
And him his face walk up tripping
Like, you're my cousin, nigga
And I was like, I was like, what y'all do with my cousin?
I was like, what's up, cousin?
But I wasn't talking to face
I seen it.
I was with my other cousin
And I was like, what's up cousin?
He was like, what's up?
He said, you know this is my cousin, right?
And he pointed at Scarfeck
I was like, get the fuck
Damn.
Like what?
I wanted to ask you, you know,
Park, you know, he said he definitely got a lot of his, you know,
the game, you know what I'm saying,
from Oakland and shit like that.
But when that nigga moved to L.A.,
it was just strictly L.A.
Like, and then he was with Shook.
Like, I'm presuming he just left you niggas.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, how did you feel what, you know, this nigga?
Like, we should.
He in L.A. just like,
I'm on my own shit.
Like, so how do niggas feel about that shit?
I mean, I felt, you know, I was just happy to see my naked, you know, prospering or moving forward with his life and, you know, being successful.
I looked at it as a move for him to be successful and I was happy that he made the move.
I was out here like, shit, like half my life I was in the bay.
And then the other half from my 23rd birthday up, I was in Los Angeles.
And so I was with him out here, right?
You know what I'm saying?
Popping up, you know, fucking around with everybody and shit, you know, popping up at events, going places and shit.
So, I mean, I wasn't tripping at all.
You know, I would, we would go places.
Like, he would come swoop me up and he'll be like, you know, don't bring no guns.
because, you know, we got off-duty FBI agents and...
For security and all of that shit.
They're like, don't bring no guns.
And they come in like three or four different black trucks and shit and then I hop in
the truck and we, you know, whoever with me, my cousin or something, you know what I'm saying?
We hop in a truck and ride out and go do whatever we're doing, you know what I'm saying?
But, you know, I think one time my cousin brought a pistol and I'm like, dude, I
you know
and Pock called me
he's like you know
he's like who brought
who brought the pistol
I'm like
I'm like somebody brought
a motherfucker pistol
you know what I'm saying
I looked that car
I said nigga
you bring a motherfucker
motherfucker pistol
oh he's like
I said did you leave it
in the car
nigga
I'm like
oh no
I think Edie
caught a case
or something
with the pistol
or whatever
but um
we other than that
man we was riding around
here kicking
and having fun
you know what I'm saying
um
uh
so I mean
I was
I would go up to
I went up to death row, chopped it up with Shug a few times and shit.
Shud seen the 4151 on my arm and shit, you know what I'm saying?
You know, he's like, you know what it is.
He was like, you fuck with that Kumi shit.
I'm like, yeah, you know, my nigg's, you know what I'm saying?
So Shug banged on you?
Yeah, but he, he.
Damn.
Crazy.
Yeah.
Just thinking Shug like banged on you.
But in a, in a, the way, because the, because,
Because the Kumi and the 4-15 went out, I guess they was rocking with the bloods in the pen.
Yeah, yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
So, I mean, it was like a good bang.
He was looking at me like, yeah.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
So I'm like, okay, yeah, some of my main niggas probably was on the main line with some of your niggas.
You know what I'm saying?
Was you around when they got mad at Snoop?
Because Snoop didn't really want to, you know, he wasn't really fully in riding and against the East Coast?
you know I wasn't even well
I was I was kind of feeling some kind of way for a minute
but then I thought and I was like the nigga just
the nigga just beat a murder case man you know what I mean
I can't blame them for shying away from shit like that
you know the nigga just beat the murder case
I would be in fucking
if I was stoop I would have been in Mexico somewhere
or somewhere in a different country
like a motherfucker like that's y'all shit right
Now talking about Snoop, right?
Is that true on the set of training day?
Some blood dudes was throwing shit out of his trailer
and you had to go and kind of like, you know what I'm saying?
Calm that shit down.
Yeah, because little old you, you know what I'm saying?
On the bank, right.
You know, they shut, whole shit.
How are you going to go protect my nigga in the jungle?
That part.
And you went, though.
I went.
I fuck with you.
That's this shit.
The nigga who called me was, was,
So OG.
The nigga who called me was so OG.
You get wasted shit all on my phone.
That's what I said.
That's what I said.
I got the one on the end of my name,
because sometimes I got a rock by myself.
It's Rod.
Hell yeah.
The nigga who called me was an OG nigga from 60 named Big Cat.
And so Big Cat called,
and Big Cat called, he said, Big Cat called.
He said like this.
Yeah, nigga.
Yeah, he's pissed.
Nick, what's telling you?
What's going on?
Nick, what's any.
And I'm like, what's had in the cat?
He's like, hey, niggas, you know what you see?
Man, you see, motherfuckers.
I said, oh, it's some motherfuckers over there throwing some shit that Snoop trailer.
Okay, all right.
I don't know how the fuck I understood everything the nigga was saying.
You know what I'm saying?
But he was talking exactly like that.
Right.
Yeah, niggas, you know what I'm saying?
You got to go over there.
And you know what I tell you, something, man.
I say, man, I'll say, man.
I'm from Hayward me.
I'm from Oakland.
I'm from the whole side of California.
I don't know what I'm thinking.
He was like, nigg, just go over here, nigg.
I said,
Nick,
you go over there.
I said,
oh, shit,
okay,
fucking Big Kat
told me to go over there.
This nigga's an OG 60,
you know,
shot calling me.
You know what I'm saying?
Fuck it,
I'm gonna go over there.
Since Kat said,
do it,
I'm going over there.
You know what I'm saying?
I go over there.
I get dropped off over there.
Damn.
So I started walking down the street.
And I see the thing's over there,
and they're like,
you know,
they're shooting dice and shit.
And someone's like,
man,
need to get in the dice game.
You know what?
and not stop thinking like that.
Stop thinking like that.
So you get to the jungle.
You see a nigga shooting dice.
You're fin to go,
instead of helping Snoop,
you're feeling to go fuck with the dice game.
How a nigga get from Oakland
and you get dropped off in the jungles?
Right.
But look, as soon as I walk up,
one niggas there,
I mean, he's like,
he's like, damn, blood.
You look like Spice One.
What did you tell?
Did you tell him I am Spice One?
I said it.
I said it is me.
What's up, my nigga?
I said, what's happened?
I said, I said, you know they,
they called the police on y'all and shit, right?
They didn't call the police and shit.
And he was like, they call the police.
And then the other nigga came up and said,
that ain't spice one blood.
And the other nigga came up and said,
yes, it is.
That is spice one.
Damn.
They're talking to all three.
And they're like, I said,
nigga, hey, they call the police.
Like the police coming and shit.
I was like, I got y'all guys.
Like, we need to go up here
smoke a blood and watch them
niggas drive up.
I said, y'all don't believe me, we can
go up the hill and sit up the hill
and roll his blood up and watch the motherfuckers
drive up. I said, they called the police.
And so we did exactly that. He went out
to the hill.
Drowed up a blood and started watching it. This is when
we was completely illegal, though.
We just sitting up there smoking like,
damn, the motherfuckers did. They did come up there.
I was like, damn, cat. I'm glad you fucking
told me that. At least we save some
niggis from going to jail.
So the niggins initially stopped on shit,
new bus or whatever his trailer
you know what I'm saying
because you came up there
well they was shocked when they
see him anywhere like what the fuck you're doing
that automatically turned him like
what the fuck you what the hell
so yeah you know
and the conversations came up
we just started chopping it up and niggas
moved out because we knew the opos
was coming so a niggas shook this spot shit
right now spice
answer me this right
fact or rumor
were you supposed to be
on all eyes on me
Yeah. And McAvelli.
Speak on that.
I was in, I was in LA County.
And I had like, I had like two months to do in LA County over some gun charges and shit.
And, uh, you know, I was like, you know, all I can do is say this.
Like, you know, as soon as a nigga step up in the county, I've seen killers going to wo.
It was a riot kicking off fairly up in a dorm next door.
I was up in the 9,500 where them shankers was on.
You was up in the L.A. County, shit, you're feeling me strong.
It's a mini-penitentiary, one OG said.
Security guard found stabbed up, shanked under the bunk bed.
They bustling heads with them flashlights at three in the morning.
Waking your ass up with a blam, nigga, put your blues on.
And get the fuck about the bunk.
We're going to go for a walk.
Police got a cold of silence.
See, none of them talk about the shit to be going on up in the county jail.
Five guards hand.
cuff a nigger beat them the death in the cell.
See, three days is like a month.
Three months is like a year.
But you can get your throat slit from ear to ear.
I wish somebody would help me out in a situation I'm in,
but ain't no love up in the county because your foes got to be your friends.
Everyone want to go to heaven, mine, but nobody wants dead.
You got to sleep with one eye open because all you got is two hans and a reservoir.
Now, if you wake up in the morning and see the grim reaper and them standing by,
by your bunk bed.
Don't be a friend young soldier.
Y'all be on your way to get to get to heaven.
So this is what I'm dealing with.
Why I'm in LA County, Park shot.
I'm in the county.
He come swoop me up.
This is first time being shot.
First time he'd be a shot.
He come swoop me up and shit and what the fuck was you at,
nigga?
You know, I was in the county.
Is this New York shot?
Yeah.
In the elevator, right?
Yeah.
Like, did he come back home?
because you wasn't in New York with him.
And he comes back home, he's furious.
He comes back home mad as fuck.
What's these stories that he's telling?
Because I want to know, like, is he real adamant about, like, you know what?
Puff big, and these niggas shot me.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
Did he tell you that?
Yeah.
He thought them niggas had set him up and had him go in the studio and get shot by the
nigga he was, I guess he was beefing with already, the hazing Jack dude.
Yeah.
And he thought that Biggie and Puffy them
has some to do with all of that shit.
You know, I've been shot before.
And when you come out of that shit, you know,
you don't all the way.
You don't be there all the way.
No, you don't.
You're not all the way there, dude.
You are definitely not all the way there
after you get shot.
Nobody is.
You know, the first thing you want to do is go shoot somebody else.
And you don't really give a fuck who it is.
You just want to shoot any goddamn body.
Let them see how that shit feel.
You know what I'm saying?
It only take one.
You can get shot 15 times.
You can get shot 20 times.
You get shot 30 motherfucking time and survive.
Yeah.
But you can get shot one time in the wrong place and be a dead motherfucker.
You know what I'm saying?
I got shot my motherfucking bullet, ricocheted off my chin, nigga,
and went through here and bounced around.
It must have been like a 22 or some old shit.
Was that from Beef in Oakland?
It was just some jackboys out.
You know, my whip was savvy.
You were slipping.
Yeah, I was slipping.
You know what I'm saying?
So I mean, you know, it is what it is.
Nicky could come up.
I had just did a photo shoot, told a homie to hold my pistols.
And I, because I had all of them gun cases, so I'm like, I don't need them more fucking gun cases, you know what I'm saying?
So I hold a pistol.
Let me sit down, you know, I parked in front of my house, started watching TV and shit.
You know, motherfuckers came through there on some jackboy shit.
I mean, I try to open up my door
I open up the door, get ready to fire on him,
just whoever the fuck it is, and nigga shoot.
I heard him say, oh shit, and he shot and ran.
I would have shot and ran too
if I'd seen a big ass nigga like me coming at a motherfucker,
you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, you know, he's smart for getting the fuck out of there.
But, you know, I didn't chase him.
I was like, you know, this nigga shot me.
But when I got shot, it wasn't like,
oh, I'm going to die.
It wasn't no shit like that.
I was still kind of pissed off the nigga
shot me and ran.
You know, the bullets is hot
Everybody listening right now
Who ain't never got shot
Them bullets is hot, nigga
It heat your whole body up
It bring your whole blood pressure up everything
You know what I'm saying
You got a hot slug inside your skin in you
It's gonna bring your whole body fever
You don't have a fever
It's gonna blow your whole shit up
I was sitting up
But by the time the ambulance came
I was sitting outside
And nothing of my drawers
My drawers and jewelry
And it was like
It was like December
It was cold as hell out there
And I'm sitting outside and I was hot.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm sitting up here waiting for these motherfuckers to come.
The ambulance can't do nothing until the police get there.
And then the police get there.
And then I cussed them out for taking some motherfucking long.
And then just like on the beginning of the Welcome to the Ghetto video, same shit.
You ever seen Welcome to the Ghetto video the beginning of it where they lift me up into the fucking deja vu?
So when Paa gets shot, he comes home, he hill up.
And he's just talking to you like these niggins.
shot me.
Fuck these
niggas.
We gotta go
do whatever we
what we're doing.
You know what I'm saying?
We got to ride.
What's the deal?
Right.
You know what it was?
You know what I'm saying?
Fuck these niggas
and you could calm him down.
You know what it was.
Fuck these niggas.
We dissing these niggas forever.
You feel me?
That's exactly what it was.
Are you on the train or not?
I was,
he didn't even have to ask me that
because soon as he took that bandana off
and I seen that dent in his head,
I just got automatically
I could have shot anybody.
I'm just got automatically.
So you was ready to disbiggy and all that shit too
And I was ready to shoot every damn body
I was like, nigga, look, we might as well
Just get on a plane and go out there and just start down there niggins
Like, fuck it.
Damn.
World War III in that motherfucker.
Yeah.
That point.
Oh, God.
Let's catch a case.
We're going to catch a case, nigga.
We'll fuck that shit.
Let's go out there and catch some murder cases,
nigga. It is what it is.
But, you know, it was just fucked up, though.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I couldn't believe.
that they let that shit happen.
Like, you know, and he telling me,
everything that happened and shit,
like he said he was niggas in the,
in the, there were newspapers looking over the fucking newspaper.
Like, what the fuck, you know what I'm saying?
Like, really, you mean you walk in there and digger
and look over the newspaper?
Come on, man, like really?
So you know, you got a niggas running up in there,
you know, you know, the niggick ran up in there,
said, Tipak, give me your shit,
he said he wanted to give it shit.
shit up and he grabbed a dude gun and they start struggling and shit you know what I'm saying
and back and forth struggling with the gun and he said dude the gun went off and he shot him
in the stomach and he kept struggling with the nigga he said the gun went off again shot him again
the stomach went off again shot him in the nuts he fell down and shit and this what he's telling me
you know out of his own mouth and he like he said he lay there and act like he was dead and then
dude shot two more times that's where he got that's where he got the graves on his head and shit at um
Pack is my nigga though
You know what I'm saying
He had more love for me
Than I thought he did
You know what I'm saying
Why you say that?
Because when we walked in the
In the
After he came and got me
He had a baby blue Bentley
He was he was hella proud of
And shit
He had convertible and shit
It was clean as fuck
And he came and got me
He drove back to his mom's house
And this is where he told me the story
And shit
But when we walk in the house
His mama Fini was standing
At the top of the stairs
And shit
and Kadada was there
and he was like
yeah this is my, you know, it's my girl right here
he was he hell of proud of Kadana
you know, he liked her a lot, you know what I'm saying?
And, um, but when he walked in a house
Feeney was at the top of the
top of the stairs on the balcony
and he said, Mama, if anything
ever happened to me, this is my nigga
right here. This my nigga. If anything
ever happened to me, this my nigga.
Right? And I'll just, you know,
wave that, Phenian.
said, hey, you know,
what's, hey, Mrs. Chikour was going on,
and we kept on stepping.
He asked her to make us some sandwiches.
We went back to the, in the backyard to the gazebo
and started smoking and drinking Hennessy and apple juice,
and he started telling me what the fuck happened.
You know what I'm saying?
That's when he broke it down, like, man, you know,
I think all of them niggas set me up,
you know, like it's still some shit
I need to clear up with little seeds, you know,
even after all of these years, it's still, you know,
Because it's different when that's somebody you know
and that's your homeboy.
Why you got to clear it up with Little Seeds
because the story wasn't really like clear?
No, exactly.
Like Little Seas, what you was doing?
Because you said you went downstairs
and you seen him and then you came back up
and then you went back down and he was shot.
Well, I was talking to Alan Arsson
and we was at this party one night
in black, in black, whoa, black rob.
Black Rob.
Oh, yeah.
He'd come up and he's like, man, little seeds say he want to holl at you.
You know, he want to buy some drinks and shit or whatever.
And I was still too mad over the shit to talk to anybody about it.
Like I was mad as fuck.
Like, you know, that's like him getting shot and a nigga trying to talk to you right after.
You're like, man, I don't want to, I don't really want to talk to nobody right now, my
nigg.
All I want to do is shoot somebody who has something to do with it.
If you can't point me out to that direction, then I don't want to talk to my life.
Yeah, my, man.
reason I'm talking to Alan Iverson because there's
Alan Ivison and I was fucking
with him. You nigga had on so much jury.
Alan Ivison had us. Hell yeah, the answer.
That's my nigga right there.
I was like, I was fucking with him.
I said, I said, where you at?
Nick, I came to see.
Right.
I'm like, what you said?
It's cracking.
Oh, he had Gemini like us too.
He's shining, nigga.
Yeah.
That nigga was shining.
So, you know, but little C's wanted to have
some, have it a drink or whatever.
And I should have went over there and talked to him.
You know what I'm saying?
because it might have, but I was too fired up still.
You know what I'm saying?
Maybe, you know, if I get a chance to talk to him now,
maybe you can tell me whatever he was going to tell me
because I'm still, you know, fucked up over the shit.
Even the day the day Pat got killed.
Where were you at when Pot got killed?
I just left him.
Okay.
He was in Vegas.
You was in Vegas.
I was in LA and he was, man, I was just talking to my daughter
and her fiance
this morning about the shit
I still feel fucked up because
all I see is
sitting there saying come on, nigga, let's go
now. Like, why are you
like, nah, let's go now. You ain't got to
do all that shit, nigga, come on. You know what I'm
saying? I'm like, I got to go change my clothes.
Let me change my clothes. I'm funky. I've been
performing and recording for two or three days
and shit. You know what I'm saying? And he was
like, okay, well, no, fuck it. Just come
now. You know what I'm saying? I'm like,
I'm like, all right, just let me go change my clothes
and I'm gonna meet you out there.
And he was like, all right, all right, fuck it.
I'll meet you out there.
Like, he was like really trying to, you know what I'm saying?
So I think back to this day still and I'm like, damn, you know,
like my daughter and everybody, like, we glad you didn't get in the car with him and go.
And to this day, I'm still like, fuck, man, I should have gotten the car my nigga and shit.
I should have just gotten the car.
I should have just gotten the car with him and came out and went out to Vegas.
And maybe I could have, you know.
But you know this nigga Ryan around.
with security. He well
protected. He get
into some shit. He banked
a corner with Shug Night.
They're sitting there with
nothing. They're vulnerable.
How do we explain this?
Because
Pock is my nigga.
I'm there for him.
I ain't here for none of them niggas.
I will shoot any of you motherfuckers.
Period.
Included Shook.
Including Shud. I would have shot him
too. This is my nigger.
y'all got me fucked up
so that's why
if I would have been there you know what I'm saying
do you feel the death
of Pock and Biggie
could have been prevented
because personally
right
I think it was over some bullshit
I think it wasn't no real hip hop
I don't even think personally
it wasn't over no bullshit my nigga got shot
in New York yeah but
he really couldn't prove he was dumb niggas
I don't know if he could prove it with them niggas said it up
So I don't know the story, but it wasn't over no bullshit.
Okay, but, you know.
Well, when I say that, I'm saying like this, right, he thought Big and Diddy has something to do with it.
I can't see Biggie personally.
I can't see Bigg trying to put a hit on Pock.
Now, Diddy, I don't know.
He's one of the motherfiles, you know what I'm saying?
I mean, but we know the story.
He beat up old boy in an MGM, you know.
He's going back for the retaliation.
So I ain't know.
hit on my nigga, but that is like the, you know, that is like one of the stories, one of the
myths, one of the, you know, like the puff was out there.
Right.
He was wanting to get rid of my nigga.
And you know, niggas feel like probably doing too much, you know what I'm saying?
Like type shit, yeah.
Yeah, type shit.
So I don't know about that, but, you know, did you feel like, you know, like my nigga,
you get too much into this game shit, you feel me, slow down a little bit.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, because he got involved with MOB.
We were some wild niggas, so, you know, we felt like nobody could fuck with us.
We felt like, you know, death before dishonor for real.
Like, it was like, you know, we were surprised that we were still alive at that age.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, we had no fear of nothing, dude.
Like, we just was like, this is thug life, nigga, and you can die fucking with us, period.
Or we'll die trying to get at your ass.
You know what I'm saying?
And it wasn't really, that's just what it was.
You know what I'm saying?
it wasn't no
in between and shit.
It was like,
we ride and die,
nigga, you know what I'm saying?
And for a motherfucker to,
every time
every time
motherfucker looked like they
was going to disrespect the shit,
we ride in the car.
I'm riding in the car with Pock
and we're doing an interview.
I'm sitting in the back seat
and it's my motherfucker
driving, the motherfucker driving
is doing an interview
or whatever he got his recorder on.
And Pock fired up
and sitting in the passenger seat.
Pock is in the passenger seat.
passenger seat and he's serious as fucking he ain't playing he in the passenger seat saying
nigger this thug life you're in the passenger see go nigga this thug life nigga we don't
give a fuck nigger we make the motherfucking rules we break the motherfucking rules nigger this
motherfucking thug life nigga he was flipping out shit and he was like tell a dude that
was doing the energy driver he was like he was like you run the motherfucking like nigga
if you're running this motherfucker like it's interview over nigga we make the
motherfucking rules. We break the
motherfucking rules.
Nika, this thug life, nigga. Run the
motherfucking light, nigga. Run the
motherfucking light.
Damn.
So you're telling, and I'm sitting in the back scene.
I've been scared to bitch.
Like, hold on.
Don't run that.
Like, I mean,
hold on, don't run it.
I'm scared.
I'm scared.
No.
This thing is why can't have to be right.
Right.
Don't run it.
You're shock in the back of your head.
No.
He wants to run a light.
He wants to run a life.
Just to prove.
that this thug life
when we make the rules
and we break the rules
like run the light
nigga
thug out
running a motherfucking light
man
so I'm in the back seat
like
you should run the light
don't fuck stop
with this light too
whatever you do
what light was it
it was out here
in Hollywood
over by where
giant burgers
used to be
by where they
used to be Nico
the club
hotel used to be Hotel
Nico
yeah yeah
yeah yeah
it used to be a burger
stand
I remember that.
Yeah, yeah.
Pull it up right there, dude.
And Pock's like,
run the motherfucking light,
nigga,
running a motherfucking light.
I'm in the backseat.
Like, dude,
you can just run the light,
you know what I'm saying?
Like, run the fucking light.
Just run the light.
You know what I'm saying?
We're in L.A.,
and even Hollywood,
run the fucking light.
Yeah.
This motherfucker stopped
to hit that light, dude.
Pock started acting like
Pinky on Friday
when he had a kid,
when he had the gun at Q-Head.
Nigger,
you're stopping it.
motherfucker like, nigga.
That's crazy,
dude.
This motherfucker's stuff.
Chico, fuck that shit,
Chico, nigga, let's go,
nigga.
Man.
Dude don't know my name
Chico.
So he's looking around.
Like, who the fucking
Chico?
Come on,
he, get out of the car.
I'm looking at
dude, like, man,
you should have ran the
fucking light, dude.
You should have just ran the light.
So, fucking.
So we got out the car,
we got some handbra.
Right then, Whip to the Miko.
That's right.
Now, Spice, you've worked with a lot of great West Coast legends, right?
Including yourself, right?
Fortywater, Pock.
The list goes on, right?
Who's some West Coast legends that you never worked with that you wanted to work with?
Well, definitely Cube and Dre.
Okay.
I think just the.
inspirational energy from Dre making me a track and me putting it down on there and knowing
that my fans want to listen um would set shit the fuck off like just you know I think just I mean
just picture that so you never got that one with Dr. Dre and I feel like Ice Cube
He's definitely that nigga.
And sometimes they can be leaving him out too.
They got the game fucked up.
Facts.
Facts.
Ice Cube, we never got that feature with Pock 2 with Ice Cube.
And including yourself like, fuck, I know a lot of niggas be upset.
You feel me?
You know?
Like, tell niggas how, you know, Cube.
Like, yeah, go ahead and back in and explain it.
Like, Cube, we need that.
Oh, yeah.
And it's not because I want to make some money or because,
It's for the game.
Just for the game.
It has to be documented.
We did that.
It has to be done.
Like me and Snoop.
It had to be done, period.
Just for the game,
it has to be a Spice Warner Snoop Dog track
where they're just getting it in.
If that's not done in history,
then people are going to look back and be like,
damn, you know, why didn't...
What happened?
Yeah, like,
Why didn't Tupac and Ice Cube or why didn't Ice Cube
and Spice One or why didn't Dr. Dre make beats for Spice One?
You know, you've seen where I come from now, now, now.
Now, you're looking at a nigga right now.
First album, we do 900,000 copies with me on there by myself.
No features.
No Dr. Drek.
Yeah.
Just imagine if we would have some features in Dr.
Dr. Dre do a few tracks on that album.
You ever spoke to Dr. Dre or Ice Cube, like, in person?
Like, nigger.
Yeah, well, when I see it, when I do see him and talk to them, it's not, you know,
a long time.
Like, we could chop it up.
We'd be at shows and shit like that or whatever.
But I opened up for them when I was a kid, like when I was like 16.
And I didn't know if Dre never remembered that or not when I, you know, after a while,
When I got in my 20s, I actually ran into Dre and again, it was like, I told you
I was going to blow up.
Yeah.
And they did, you know, Dre was like, damn, I kind of remember, you know, I don't think
he remembered that I opened up for him.
But I don't think any of them remembered me opening up for him, but they still show me a lot
of love.
I still got love from NWA, period.
Like, you know, I always got love from Q.
Cube was always cool.
Rinn was always cute.
cute, cool, easy was always cool, Dre, you know, he was always cool. I never got no, you know,
negative vibes from any of them dudes, you know, it was always, it was cool. DoC was my, if not my
favorite rap artist, definitely in my top two, you know what I'm saying? So I mean, you know,
I'm a product of NWA. I come from NWA in Too Short, you know, and in KRS One, you know,
it's all a mixture of what that's where you get spice one from you know what i'm saying so um when
you see these dudes um tell them like you need to do a song with you do a song with spice man
i think that would be some west coast classic shit you know what i'm saying like a spice one
album produced by dr dr dray but what about a spice one album produced by uh dj quick that too
definitely quick me and quick have we me and quick have we
Me and Quick have songs together.
Hello.
I'm glad you brought DJ quicker.
Come on now.
Quick, quick.
Man, if you all put them down songs out,
I know you got like three songs.
Man.
Oh, so he got them.
Yeah.
Oh, you got two or three songs.
He got two and three songs we did.
He got two and three songs we did.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
You've been to every area of NWA,
the Q's, the Dres, the Snoves, the Pox.
Like, what's your memorable moment?
Like, most memorable moment, like,
Like you can like tell us like because that is fucking crazy.
I can talk to you all motherfucka day.
Because it's a, it's been a long road, man.
And I've seen a lot of shit.
Like even after Roger Troutman, after I gave Roger that I gave Roger like 20 grand that day.
And he goes back home and gets killed.
His brother kills me.
He got shot in the head.
It's like I'm around.
So many people, so many famous people, and so many people that people love before they pass,
like Bushwick Bill, rest in peace.
You know, I was around, I've been around a lot of cats before they, you know, right before
they passed, from Pac to Bill to, to, to, uh, to, uh, Riders Trowman to, um, MC Breed.
I was, we were supposed to do a show the day he passed away, the promoter called and
was like, what's happening?
And I had to go confirm it.
And, you know, and his wife confirmed.
that he was gone, you know.
Easy, I was at his, out there in LA
about to sign the Routeless Records
in the day Easy found out he was sick.
It's just, you know, the whole road,
he's going through this whole thing
has been a real life experience, you know.
My life has definitely not been regular,
being around all of these people, you know,
even from, you know, from Meet and Run DMC
the first time when I go to New York,
These are the first people I meet.
First knickers I meet.
As soon as I step out the car, take three steps,
just run DMC.
Yo, Spice, what's up?
You know, from meeting the Beastie boys
and watching their videos
and laughing at them
because they acted like their videos and shit.
Because when I met them,
they had naked girls and pizza
and stuff all in the pool and shit.
Who?
Who?
Who?
Who was the most gangster?
actually like the most gangster besides pop like who was the most gangster like it was
realistic like this nigga ain't playing like who was the who was that nigga i mean
pack man was was he was on a mission um it's crazy to saying it's fucked up because you know he was
trying to show y'all niggins he was trying to show everybody that you know this is what happens
when you go all out when this is the definition of a real nigger when you get out here and you do all
it is this the only end to that shit is either death or jail he was literally trying to show everybody
what this really and he was willing to die to show everybody what the fuck this shit really is
like i'm gonna be one of the realest niggas you niggas ever seen in my life but i'm gonna die
doing it because i'm trying to show you nigger something and that's some real shit
That's some gangster shit if I ain't never seen the herd, my niggins.
You know what I'm saying?
Because ultimately this is the end.
He wanted niggas to learn from his death.
Yeah.
That was his whole main thing.
If motherfuckers didn't get the message or the picture,
Pac wanted all y'all niggas to learn from his death.
You know, you niggas run around here.
I want to be.
I'm a real nigger.
I'm going to do this.
I'm going to do that.
Well, this is what's going to be the end of it.
So, you know, you know, you make a choice.
You want to do this.
You want to do that.
You know what I'm saying?
But this is the end.
of this. This is what happens
when you be in Swoke's
so called quote unquote
real real niggin. You keep it all real
from the day one all of the
this is what's going to happen.
You know what I'm saying?
Either I'm going to hopefully he wasn't planning on dying
but hopefully he made it through it but
he was going to keep it real and show everybody
what the end result of what this shit
is. And it seems like
motherfuckers didn't get the picture because they still
just don't get it. They want to die right now.
They're being comfortable with
dying out here.
You know what I'm saying?
It's crazy.
You know, but
it's a lot of stories
and I want to ask you
because I always get
a different story about this,
you know what I'm saying,
about this story about Nause
and him dissing Nause
and Jay-Z and all these niggas
and he dissing everybody
from the East Coast.
But he runs into Noss.
And he said,
Nause with a hundred niggas
and doing all of this,
you know what I'm saying?
And Nause got to drop on him,
but he asked him like,
well, Park,
what you want from?
me like,
nigga, you feel me?
Like, he tell him what it is.
Like, I'm about to
dish you, nigga, don't say nothing.
Like, is this story
like, correct?
Like, how are they telling this story?
Because everybody got their side to that shit.
I never talked to Pac
about that. He never told me
what happened when he
met knives. I think he did.
But all I can
remember briefly was
that, you know, he was
he was just like on one
and as far as when he seemed nice
he was gonna tell him
you know hey nigga I got
I said this about you in this song
you know what I'm saying so
I dish you don't say nothing
yeah so I mean you know
because you are because you know you wrong
because you know you're wrong so I mean
you know but like I say
Paco you know we all know
Pacca's a wild nigga man you know
he he sometimes he would act before he think
before he thought like all of us do.
Nobody is perfect.
Sometimes a nigga of flash.
I kick it with crazy motherfuckers
because I know I'm a crazy motherfucker and I don't want to
see him out of place and shit.
You know what I'm saying?
If I do some crazy shit, the nigga I'm with
ain't going to look at me crazy.
He's going to be like, yeah, I would have to do that shit too.
You know what I'm saying?
So I mean, you know,
for all what it's worth,
yeah, you know, Pac, you know,
he had to, he had to act up sometimes.
Right.
Now, now talking about crazy-ass
shit, right? You got some crazy
ass stories about, you know, doing
tours and shit around the world and shit.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah?
Man, one
What about the holes?
You know what I'm saying? In different countries?
Hell yeah.
It's,
with the most fucked up part about that is when
you don't learn the motherfucking
language and there's a fucking
language barrier and you got to have
somebody else tell her what the fuck
you think. Damn.
And then you're trying to talk to, you know, I'm trying to talk to Asian.
Nah, nigga, bitch.
It's body language.
Look.
That's the only thing you got.
Are you, hey, T.
Are you, hey T.
All you gotta do is, pull that motherfucker out.
You know what it is.
We don't know what it is.
Look.
Pull that motherfucker out.
She know what it is, God damn.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Something of the crazy shit ever.
Nigger, what?
I'm with the Japanese homies and they're like telling me to say the wrong shit.
Right.
I'm like, man, why you just tell me to tell that girl to get the fuck out of here?
Why did you tell me to tell her that?
I wanted to say, how are you doing?
What's your name?
You told me to tell her to get the fuck out of here.
And they over there laughing.
Right.
Since you've been with all these errors, you feel me.
You really definitely can give me your top five greatest hip hop artist out here.
You feel me?
like you definitely can do that because you've been around.
My top five greatest.
And that's West Coast, East Coast.
That's whatever.
Right.
Yeah, that's whatever.
Okay.
I mean, in a time frame or?
We can go, I mean, I would say overall, right?
